MS(mild steel) channels
Today, the price of MS (mild steel) channels in India typically ranges from ₹60,000 to ₹85,000 per metric ton, reflecting a complex array of factors that influence the steel market. The cost of MS channels is closely tied to fluctuations in raw material prices, including iron ore and coking coal, which are essential for steel production. Recent volatility in these raw material prices has been driven by global supply chain disruptions, trade policies, and geopolitical tensions. For example, disruptions in supply from major iron ore-producing countries like Brazil and Australia have led to increased iron ore prices, which, in turn, raise the production costs of MS channels. Additionally, global economic conditions, including the performance of key economies such as China, affect the demand for iron ore and steel, influencing steel prices on a worldwide scale. Domestically, MS channel prices in India are significantly influenced by levels of construction and infrastructure activity. Large government infrastructure projects, urban development initiatives, and extensive housing schemes drive substantial demand for MS channels, leading to price increases, particularly in regions experiencing intense construction or industrial activity. Seasonal trends also impact prices; for instance, there is often a surge in construction activity before the monsoon season, which can lead to temporary price spikes. Regional market conditions further contribute to variations in MS channel prices across different parts of India. Factors such as local supply and demand dynamics, transportation costs, and logistical challenges all play a role in determining pricing. In regions with high levels of construction or where transportation and logistics costs are significant, MS channel prices may be higher due to increased demand or greater expenses. Conversely, in areas with lower demand or more efficient supply chains, prices might be more stable or even lower. Major manufacturers and suppliers of MS channels in India, such as Tata Steel, JSW, and SAIL, significantly impact local pricing through their production strategies and cost structures. These companies invest in advanced manufacturing technologies and adhere to stringent quality standards, which can influence pricing. The overall cost of producing MS channels, including factors such as energy, labor, and technological advancements, also contributes to their price. Variations in these production costs, driven by changes in energy prices or labor wages, can further affect MS channel prices. The steel market in India is highly dynamic and subject to frequent changes based on shifts in raw material costs, production capabilities, and broader economic conditions. Therefore, while the provided price range offers a general perspective on current MS channel prices, it is crucial for buyers and industry stakeholders to consult local suppliers or manufacturers for the most accurate and up-to-date information. This ensures effective budgeting and procurement planning for construction and industrial projects. In summary, today‟s MS channel prices in India are shaped by a combination of global raw material costs, domestic industrial and construction demand, regional market conditions, and the strategies of major manufacturers. Understanding these factors is essential for navigating the steel market and making informed decisions regarding procurement and project planning.

I had tears pouring down my cheeks while I was driving home this morning because I listened to a podcast about the Radium Girls and how hard they fought to hold their employer to account for poisoning them, even though they knew they would die regardless, because they wanted to protect the workers who came after them. Even though their community called them liars and they were in horrible pain, they fought. And then the host started talking about how the Manhattan Project used knowledge gained from the Radium Girls to protect their workers and how the ghosts of those girls and women protected people going forward...
And it made me think of all the ghosts, unnamed and unknown, who in their death protect us: the ghosts of the Titanic, the Triangle Shirtwaist Factory fire, the Quebec Bridge, and so many others. Disasters that made us change laws and protect people, not just because they were horrific but because survivors and survivors families demanded that we change; kept screaming and fighting and pushing until someone listened and something was fixed.
What a debt we owe.

“Team Black or Team Green?” What about team smallfolk overthrowing the monarchy that are are carelessly flying around on weapons of mass destruction and committing war crimes because of their entitlement over a damn chair when neither side are giving two shits about the people they are supposed to govern

honestly I encourage everyone to get comfortable opening up their electronics. game consoles. computers. phones. keyboards. headphones. whatever. like obviously don't start with the most difficult thing to open up and don't just mindlessly pop open something and lose all the screws and don't do it while its on. but get comfortable looking inside your stuff yourself
its not hard to open up most electronics that don't have an apple logo on them (and even a lot of those are easier than you'd think) and it DOES NOT VOID YOUR WARRANTY.
Companies will try to scare you from learning how to care for your own stuff because they get money that way. Warranty stickers are technically illegal in the US but just isn't enforced, and a company can't actually void your warranty if you repair something yourself, so long as you don't break something else in the process.
like I look at threads all the time where people express fear about just opening up a console and looking at the internals to see which version they have but don't be! its easy, its safe, its free! get comfortable with your electronics and learn how to clean and repair stuff yourself, it isn't scary, companies just want you to think it is!

I think it’s really funny seeing those Twitter AU’s where the author portrays Tony as just like so suave and casual online even when he’s interacting with Gen Z kids even tho it should really be the opposite.
His TRUE final form is Trophy Husband Who No Longer Understands The Internet But Insists He Is Still Cool And Hip
So an accurate Twitter au would be Tony embodying “How do you do, fellow kids?” and throwing a tantrum when someone calls him old.
“I’m a tech genius, Peter! That makes me cool and hip. Tell Pepper I’m cool and hip. Peter, stop laughing.”
And Peter has just resigned himself to patting Tony on the back like “Yes, Mr. Stark. You are very cool and hip. Please never say cash money again.”

Hey so me & Malcolm's cell service got shut down today. I was going to pay for it to be restored but unfortunately the copay for my emergency dental work was just under $100 and I'm completely broke.
The good news is I do get paid tomorrow, but because I was only in for one day last week, I won't have enough to get groceries, pay for transit to and from work next week, and pay off my phone bill, as well as the copay for the last bit of dental work I need done Saturday & any meds they prescribe. So I thought I would at least try and ask if anyone out there would be willing to help out, even a little.
Thank you for reading/sharing/donating if you're able to help.

While it may seem impossible to comprehend that 44% of female voters voted for Trump and 56% of male voters seem to value the nebulous economy more than the rights of women etc. (Harris literally has the same 10 point gender gap just in reverse) I would like to point out that that is still roughly half of each group which falls in line with the general idea that at least half the country is dumb as hell

The Twelve Principles of Circular Hydrometallurgy, (Binneman & Jones, 2023) are:
Tumblr media
The goal is, essentially, that if you have an "ore" of a laptop, you'd be able to 'extract' and separate the gold, cobalt, copper, thallium, zinc, etc by exploiting their physical and chemical properties, with minimal waste products and minimal harm. The process is continuous, and most of the reagents in the vats can be reused, or don't harm the system.
For copper, we separate sulfides from unwanted minerals by exploiting their hydrophobic surface. Then they're converted into a CuSO4 solution that is purified, and then we're able to add electricity to the system to get copper to drop out of solution in a usable form (native copper).
So I think for this essay/location, I'm going to pick Reduce Chemical Diversity, because according to the diagram here, they actually did a pretty good job of only using hydroxide additives? It looks very simple and interesting. I'll also do Use Benign Chemicals because the mill is right next to the Great Lakes and I'm curious if there are problems there. I'll also do Maximize Mass/Energy etc because that's easy fucking fruit. I don't know why that's in this circle. It bugs me.
Preventing Waste is also easy fruit, and combine circular hydrometallurgy with Zero Waste Mining which is an interesting topic, but I hate how the authors of this paper discussed it.

Need asoiaf fans to be disabused from the notion that anyone “deserves” the Iron Throne. Not a single person deserves it, doesn’t matter how good they are. And I’d take it a step further and say that no one deserves to be king or queen or lord. We shouldn’t be equating kingship/queenship with a happy ending. This series does so much to criticize this awful system so it’s particularly jarring that people will go “I want my fave to get their happy ending and sit on the iron throne”. That’s…kind of antithetical to what the series has shown us so far I think.

oh my god last night my friend drunkenly confessed to me that she had been feeling very lonely these past few months and i told her i'd been feeling the exact same and we were both kind of shocked bc we both felt like the other person was doing amazing (which also kept both of us from reaching out, bc the other person seemed busy and intimidatingly happy) and it was this really weird moment which felt like smth from a play or something. like real life dramatic irony. and the craziest part is that she literally lives a two minute walk away from me too so we were literally having our simultaneous lonely breakdowns across the street from each other. so i guess what im trying to say is check on your friends and dont believe social media
