Spiderman also has a camo power. If he stays still for a few seconds, he can match his surroundings. In this state, he becomes part of the scenery, about as animate as a statue, but unlike invisibility, he doesn't completely disappear and can be spotted if someone is really looking. (Good luck tho). It also doesn't work if he's in motion.

Is there a reason Peter went to Ryker’s specifically (as opposed to a prison not for supervillains) even though he didn’t have his powers at that point? Is Ryker’s a normal prison in this au?

Also this au is rotting my brain I love it so much. How long have you been working on it?

You know how like...(most of the time) supervillains don't start appearing until the Superhero-ing starts?

I just kind of headcanoned that Ryker's was a normal correctional facility that was later refitted when said supervillains appeared post Spiderman's debut.

During Peter's younger years, it was where especially violent criminals or gang members were sent. After Spiderman and the Avengers started poppin' up, so did the supervillains and Ryker's was then repurposed.

(I kind of also headcanon that Ryker's was a privatized prison and had cut a deal with quite a few judges to cut them some of the profit in exchange for sending them inmates- this is why Peter was prosecuted as an adult. )
