Can I just say Ioan Gruffudd is incredible. An INCREDIBLE actor! He literally got less than 5 minutes of screen time in Titanic. And the amount of pain, grief and guilt he was able to convey in shots that lasted LITERALLY FOR SECONDS.

The ACCENT! And his little scrunched face when he says "we waited too long" đ„șđ„șđ„ș I especially love it because eyewitness testimony points to the real Lowe being the one who yelled "get back, I say, or I'll shoot you all like dogs!" Cameron's movie seems, to me at least, to have swapped Lowe and Lightoller in terms of personality.
Just watched Titanic (1997) for the thousandth time and on this blog we stan Fifth Officer Lowe

The Mosley Review: Bad Boys: Ride or Die
There is an important lesson being taught here to filmmakers that step into a franchise they are fans of. Fans of a franchise can be the most devoted and best choice to continue on the franchise, but if they are not in service of the story, the characters or the identity of the franchise, then they aren't the right one to take it on. You cannot come in with your own biases, agendas or what your idea of what the franchise is. True fans of a franchise know this and take that lesson to heart and deliver an outstanding entry and that's what this directing duo has done yet again. The Bad Boys franchise has always been about the classic buddy cop relationship that keeps you engaged in between the amazing action. This franchise has a strong beating heart of love and fun at its core and this film keeps that heart pumping at a hardy pace. The previous film was a welcomed return that had its moments of flare, stylistic action and comedy, but it focused on the story and the humanity of the characters first. That same elegance of storytelling continues in this new entry and it may be a bit more kinetic, sometimes overwhelming, but it still lands strongly in the category of greatness.
Will Smith and Martin Lawrence return as our favorite dynamic duo Detective Lieutenant Mike Lowry and Detective Lieutenant Marcus Burnett and they haven't skipped a beat. The magnetic chemistry between them is what keeps you engaged and I loved that this film once again drives home that brotherly love they have for one another. Like the last film, they both deal with their mortality in a unique way as they are older now. Mike has an unexpected growth in personality and I loved that he isn't as perfect anymore. You see him deal with a personal disorder that he must overcome and it is pretty inspiring the way Will portrays it. Marcus gets a new lease on life and lets go of the whiney tone and actually has more pep in his step. In a sense, Mike and Marcus switched perspectives and role types as Marcus has become the more reckless and Mike has become the more cautious. I loved his spirituality which made for some great moments of comedy where Martin truly shined the brightest. Vanessa Hudgens and Alexander Ludwig return as AMMO teammates Kelly and Dorn and they were both fantastic yet again. They weren't an after thought and they both were a powerhouse in the action and held their own when on screen with Mike and Marcus. Paola NĂșñez was awesome yet again and now as Captain of the Miami PD, Rita Secada. I loved her strength in the film and her chemistry with Mike and Marcus is still strong. Its a mild spoiler, but I hated the fact that her and Mike didn't end up together. Ioan Gruffudd was good as Adam Lockwood and its always great to see him on screen. Joe Pantoliano is always a welcomed face and seeing him as Captain Howard one last time was heartwarming. Jacob Scipio returns as Mike's son, Armando Aretas and he was just as badass and deadly. I liked the strained avenue that Mike and Armando go down as their father and son relationship is slowly being built. Eric Dane enters the franchise as the new threat and I liked him as James McGrath. He was cunning, quick and brutal and wasn't about world domination. I liked the history behind the character even if his motivation was a bit boring. Dennis Greene returns as Reggie McDonald and he has always been the butt of the joke in the past films since his iconic entrance. I loved that in this film, he finally earns respect and he becomes the MVP of the film in an amazing scene.
Composer Lorne Balfe returns with an absolute knockout of a score. Not only does he have his unique touch of intensity, but he continued to incorporate, modulate and evolve the iconic Bad Boys score and themes by original composer Mark Mancina. It drives me up the wall when composers don't use the iconic themes of a franchise and I loved that Lorne kept it alive and flowing throughout the film in multiple variations. The action in this film was top of the line and felt classical in its practical execution. It was gritty, bloody fun that had me smiling from ear to ear. There is a bridge sequence that leads to the iconic Bad Boys shot, but that scene felt a little disjointed and dizzying in the placement of characters. There is a feeling of finality to the franchise as it sort of gives a loving look back at the past films with fun parallels and role reversals. Directing duo Adil & Bilall truly love Bad Boys and it shows in every inch of the screen from the action, the character development and comedy. They have done a magnificent job in delivering an even better entry than the last and I can't wait to own the 4K Bluray. This is definitely the best action film of the year so far! Let me know what you thought of the film or my review in the comments below. Thanks for reading!

A Tudors OT3 verse in universe tumblr post about The Tudors in that universe. Very much inspired by @nocompromise-noregrets to whom Ellie belongs.
I regret to inform the tumblr that I have sunk into depths of clownery previously thought of as impossible. I am the Mariana Trench of Fail. I am not serving cunt, I am serving nothing.
It starts with going to my girlfriends cousin regular pub quiz because they were out a person and I know Some Things and also hey, free snacks!
At the start of this I want to note this was pre Unmasked Part I airing and I had No Fucking Idea. I was just there, sexualising Rupert Graves and James Frain and thinking oh what a great enemies ship need to smush their faces together and also their dicks.
[insert that meme about being in hell looking for Fail King Hugh Norwich here in retrospect also thee iconic post by dansemacabrebutts, Ioan I am in your clown shoes]
So I was chatting to one of the quiz team and turns out sheâs (a) watching the show and (b) definitely a Fandom Person and we get on to shipping at some point and so I open my mouth like âisnât the sexual energy between Norwich and Cromwell off the charts charged? Canât wait to write porn about themâ
She looks at me with the kind of pained expression that I have only seen in parents of small children watching them spill paint on themselves for the fourth time - in the awareness that really, itâs their fault for trusting them with the paint. At first I thought oh maybe itâs an anti thing? (Sheâs not a restorationist which was my second notion because my girlfriends family would Kick The Fuck Off and listen, Restorationists do not carry Tolkien merch at all - especially not that gorgeous print of the wedding of Bard and Thranduil from the estate)
âI think thatâs something youâll have to wait and see aboutâ she says and my cousin in law is looking at me like they want to disown my entire family line back fifteen generations.
I think oh thatâs an odd answer and kind of shrug and change the subject awkwardly and we donât really talk. And then like a week later I watch Unmasked Part I. And then they have the after show interviews and:
GUYS THAT WAS THE ELLIE WHO DISCOVERED NORWICHS PAPERS. YES THAT ELLIE. I WILL BE MORTIFIED ON MY DEATH BED. I WAS NORWICH GLORIFYING TO THE PERSON WHO WAS THE VERY FIRST PERSON WHO HAD TO READ HIS WORKS. MY COUSIN IN LAW IS RIGHT TO DISOWN ME DISHONOUR UPON MY NON EXISTENT COWS. I am putting on the clown makeup and the shoes as we speak.

What's Hornblower + what's it about? It looks interesting
Special interest mentioned ong!
Ok! So Hornblower is a miniseries and book series about the British navy from the French Revolution through the Napoleonic Wars (miniseries is only to the middle of the Napoleonic Wars) following the fictional character Horatio Hornblower! :33333 The original series is by C.S. Foster and is 11 books long! This time period is one that I'm not super into but these series is soooo good. I've always had a little interest in naval history so I find it very fun!
All the characters are very likable and there is never a dull moment. I can't exactly put my finger on why, but it is a bit like TURN but on the high seas and the characters are more likable. It is also a bit like Pirates of the Caribbean but no magic and no cringe (hooray!), the series is good all the way through! If you like James Norrington from PotC then you will like Hornblower. However, a lot of characters die which is sad, don't get attached. There are a lot of jokes making fun of France which is kinda silly.
I never have seriously kinned a character until now: The protagonist Horatio Hornblower is spectacular. He is a little silly guy little blorbo. He gets into shenanigans (war). The shenanigans seriously make me giggle sometimes. OH OH and he is good at playing the card game whist. :) and he's a little autistic (and we love that), every jokes goes over his head...autism creature incarnate!
I'm not integrated into the fandom quite yet but there is a little one here on Tumblr! I have some posted with the Hornblower tag, at least. Here is a link to the series on Internet Archive is anyone is interested in watching it! :)
This ask made my day thank you. Woah this post is kinda long.

The singular case of the Three Holmes
This is some Sherlockian fan art. I loved all three modern versions of Holmes and wanted to reference them in one drawing. Then, it started to grow, because it seemed a shame that others who'd played Holmes, and the Watsons, and even Moriarty, weren't in the drawing. And this is the result. This, for one reason or another, took me just under a year to create. I was going through some issues to do with age, with arthritis, and confidence. I also had a huge detour of six months working on train scripts for Open Simulator, which sort of knocked my visual creativity out of me for the duration (I even missed this year's Jenny Everywhere Day artwork). I restarted this after turning 66. Arthritis is creeping up on me in my hands, feet, and knee. But, I'll draw for as long as I can. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ The characters/actors shown are...
Framed Pictures:
Top Row (Sherlock Holmes, in order played in films): William Gillette; Basil Rathbone; Peter Cushing; Tom Baker; Jeremy Brett; and Sir Ian MurrayMcKellen.
Centre Row (Moriarty): from Elementary, by Natalie Dormer; from Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows, Jared Harris; and from Sherlock, Andrew Scott.
Next Row (Inspired by Holmes): From McGyver, Richard Dean Anderson as Angus McGyver; from House M.D.: Robert Sean Leonard as James Wilson and Hugh Laurie as Gregory House; from DeathNote, Kenichi Matsuyama as L / Ryûzaki; and from Forever, Ioan Gruffudd as Doctor Henry Morgan.
The Floor (Holmes Pretenders): From Doctor Who, Matt Smith as The Doctor pretending to be Holmes; from The Zero Effect, Bill Pullman as Daryl Zero, "the world's most private detective" (but not Holmes as such); and from Star Trek: Next Generation, Brent Spiner as Data, who is acting as Holmes on the Holodeck.
Standing (Doctor Watsons): from Guy Ritchie films, Jude Law; from Elementary, Lucy Liu; and from Sherlock, Martin Freeman.
Seated (The Three Holmes): from Elementary, Jonathan Lee Miller; from Sherlock, Benedict Cumberbatch; from Guy Ritchie films, Robert John Downey Jr.
The Hats (as worn by Holmes):Top Hat; Trilby; Walking Hat, and Deerstalker. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Drawn using Affinity Designer v1Â and 2!

My Friends as Marauders Era Characters
So I have a bunch of friends who I think can be a lot like some Marauders Era characters and I therefore am going to share them (and something about them too) with you.Â
Evie - Lily Evans
Evie is incredibly intelligent, my best friend, and kinda short-tempered too. Sheâs the sweetest human ever but also has an ongoing feud with our English teacher (sorry Mr Shaw, but we are planning to give you a heart attack soon sooooo).
Ellie - Marlene McKinnon
Ellie is very opinionated, is low-key scared of everyone while everyone is low-key scared of her, and sheâs loud, proud, and unapologetic.Â
Ioan - Remus Lupin
Ioan is *the* most Remus Lupin human Iâve ever encountered, I swear. Heâs in mostly top sets (everything but Cymraeg), heâs chaotic yet so smart, and heâs an absolute dumbass who puts up with everyone elseâs dumbassery too. Love him.
Malachy - Sirius Black
THIS BITCH.Â
Maiwenn - Pandora Sailstreame
Mai is so funny and so cool, but she knows it damn well, too. She knows sheâs a glorious human and we all love her for it. (also, she has a really cute dog called Mostyn but thatâs beside the point)
Millie P (i know 3 millies, okay?) - Mary MacDonald
Millie is opinionated, lovely, socially aware, and headstrong. She also knows exactly what sheâs worth while being able to criticise her surroundings/herself and earlier she was talking about our RE class and how when we have it tomorrow, Johnnyâs gonna eat EVERY SINGLE CHOCOLATE FINGER IN THERE. and sheâs not even wrong.Â
Hannah - Amelia Bones
Hannah is super sweet, nice, and always misses class for extra-curricular stuff. Sheâs in choir, âllefaruâ, and she worked on the summer fair too. She does everything, is the kindest human, and she has a close-knit group of friends sheâd do anything for.Â
Levi - Barty Crouch jr
EMOOOOOOO
Asher - James Potter
As soon as Ash read the GV for me, I knew it would go well. and it did. Ash is so happy to completely nerd out with me for Gods know what, sit with me in comfortable silence while weâre doing our own things (paralel play), and we know we can go to each other for anything. (they also have set-aside pancakes every morning in school cause their mum is one of the lunch ladies)
So thatâs my probable incomplete list of my friends as Marauders Era characters!
#marauders era#Marauders#remus lupin#lily evans#marlene mckinnon#Sirius Black#pandora lovegood#pandora rosier#Mary MacDonald#amelia bones#barty crouch jr#barty crouch junior#James Potter
