I haven’t seen The White Lotus, but I was hearing about one of the actresses (Aimee Lou Wood) being mocked for her teeth…

I think she’s gorgeous and I love her smile 😊

But also I would have loved to have seen a beautiful young actress with imperfect teeth growing up and as a teenager/young adult. I was shy and embarrassed by my teeth especially in my younger years.

Most people don’t have perfect straight white teeth. And when you punch down and mock an actress or actor for something they cannot help, remember you’re going to do damage to a lot of people’s feelings indirectly.

In 2020-2021 I got Invisalign done and I don’t regret straightening my teeth….

….But it took a lot of time and money and it was painful sometimes. (In fact, a big reason I did it then was because we were all in lockdown and i wasn’t going anywhere anytime soon.)

It’s not doable for everyone and we should try to be more accepting and kind to each other when it comes to physical attributes. I don’t think punching down and telling people to get a thicker skin is helpful. Even if the person is a celebrity.

Personally as I got older, I still took a lot of selfies before Invisalign. And most days I thought i was cute before i straightened my teeth 😊

But as a youngster I was much more shy, and I think seeing a pretty actress with more prominent teeth being mocked would have been hurtful to me back then.

Why does ADHD have to be so hard?

I just wish I could study without chronic procrastination!

Or get myself up in the mornings without assistance.

Or have people understand that ADHD isn't just "quirky little gal" disorder.

It's funny, I get kind of surprised when my diagnosed disability disables me-

Pearly Whites

Okay, so maybe not the most pearly of whites, yet. But, now that I'm finally done with nearly 3 years of treatment, my tooths are tight and right!

Honestly, they didn't bother me before. It came to a point where I was having some tooth chipping issues because there just wasn't enough overbite, so that ultimately led me to make the decision to do Invisalign. Now, if I can just work on the gray hair 😎🙃🤪

Had the delightful pleasure of starting to fix my goddamn teeth today. I’m actually beyond excited, I’ve been saving for this for forever and needing it for more than 10 years. (Because obviously insurance won’t cover it even if you’ve got daily pain from teeth grinding/clenching.) Wisdom teeth are rude. My front teeth do not touch, but by August of next year they finally will 😭 and now a bunch of my teeth have little shark fin buttons!

Dental care should be free and NO shame if you’ve struggled with dental health. I feel so lucky to be able to afford this and finally do this for myself. I wish it was easier for everyone to get the care they need.
