Sooo I went to Japan for 2 weeks! It was amazing! Extremely hot but I still enjoyed everything and want to go back ASAP 😭

I wanted to share the Inuyasha merch I’ve been able to find! Which is not a lot, lol. Urusei Yatsura's Lum was EVERYWHERE (especially thanks to the recent reboot) and I also saw Ranma 1/2 stuff quite a bit, but Inuyasha was nowhere to be found except in Nakano Broadway...

Starting from top left: A doujinshi I found at a Mandarake, a CD with some of the opening/endings and a pack of playing cards with art from the second movie. Below that I have a Inuyasha acrylic (found that one in a Animate at Ikebukuro), a small shippo figure and volume 4 of Yashahime (with Momo on the cover 🥰). Then below that I got 2 volumes of the wide ban edition of the manga (1 and 30 so the first and last volumes) and the Shonen Sunday S magazine with the latest Yashahime manga chapter. Above that there's Hisui from a Yashahime gachapon and above the beautiful miko Kagome figurine ♥

She's supposed to sit on a bottle so I cut the top of a plastic bottle, added some wrapping paper and a scrunchy to make some kind of base for her to sit on! I've always wanted that figurine but it's super expensive online so I'm glad I found her at a decent price. The world needs more miko Kagome merch 🙏

This is the back of the inukag doujinshi I bought, I haven't been able to find that artist online 🤔 If anyone know where I can find them, let me know!

Funny thing, the only time I saw the Yashahime gachapon was at Tokyo tower. I tried it really hoping I would get either Moroha, Hisui or Kohaku and not the others so I'm very glad I got Hisui! 3 out of 8 is not good odds lmao.

I KNOW there's some actual Inuyasha gachapon out there but I never saw any! Even that Yashahime one was mostly empty 😭

I also visited Niigata, the home city of Rumiko Takahashi. In the Manga and Anime museum there I bought this special fan that was released for the 35th anniversary of Takahashi's career. There was also the same for Maison Ikkoku and Ranma 1/2. I thought it was a really cool find!

Anyway, Japan let me down a bit in terms of Inuyasha merch but everything else was great (except the weather, seriously don't go in Japan in the summer it's too hot). I definitely want to go back in the spring and see the cherry blossom. I'd also like to visit the south more, like Osaka and Hiroshima.

Yashahime might be a disaster but it's actually thanks to that series that I met the amazing girls I went on this trip with, and for that I am so thankful. We went through hell following that series every week but we ended up with forging really strong bonds and traveling with them felt like being with family!

The real Inuyasha sequel was truly the friends we made along the way 😌🌈✨

🧡This was an absolute shock for me. I expected to like this book but damn that twist. I came into this book with the idea that this was a half romance half sci-fi. But, I would personally describe this as a sci-fi thriller with a queer romance. This is a YA with what I would describe as a blend of hinted at sex scenes and fade to black. This is what I would consider a medium tier sci-fi aka can be somewhat challenging for some people but the world building isn’t a lot.

🔪The romance was good but at the same time the ending part of the romance wasn’t it for me. I needed more than what we received. To be honest even though the romance was good I would of preferred it to not be so physical based. My only other criticism that I can remember is that I wish we had seen a bit more of untrustworthy behaviour or an outburst towards something after we were showed a certain scene that was recorded.

Choujin X volumes 1 & 2- I couldn’t get into Tokyo Ghoul but this series got me. 4 Stars for volume 1. 4.5 Stars for volume 2.

Inuyasha VizBig volume 1- I can’t believe it’s taken me so long to start reading the manga. This was the first anime I ever watched and I just adore this series so much. 5 Stars.

7. Favorite lines?

Most of my fave lines are bittersweet or sad-yet-hopeful, thanks to Volume 4. Blake and Ghira’s talk, Ruby’s speech at the end. “You didn’t drag us along; you gave us the courage to follow you.” Also Ruby resolving to 'keep moving forward' despite her fear in v5.

There's this line in the 2nd RWBY Beyond episode where Jaune wonders "Do you think we're gonna make it?" and it's just so topical now because it was made at a time when RWBY's future was uncertain. No matter what, they're still gonna try, and that's worth it.

On a lighter note, sometimes I remember Vol 2's “They don’t give out prizes for almost” “They do and they’re called silver!” and it cracks me up every time.

20. What are you looking forward to seeing in Vacuo?

The new headmaster, Theodore. We got a hint at his design in the RWBY Beyond shorts, but I can’t wait to meet him. The Summer Maiden, if she’s even in Vacuo, so we can complete the set (and gear up for Maidenbowl #3). Renora growth (even though they aren’t together) because I love them both and I love them together and I want the best for Nora. Emerald being a good guy now and how that has changed how she interacts with people.

I am also interested in seeing, even though it will break my entire heart, Oscar/Ozpin’s struggle with the merger. I just want Oscar to be happy, and I am fearful that we might lose something once they are one consciousness.

28. Fairytale character you'd want to see RWBYified?

Okay, so lame answer but I’ve been watching Inuyasha recently… and Viz Media got big bc of the Inuyasha localization… and he’s got a ‘faunus trait’ with the dog ears…it makes too much sense.

For actual fairytale characters, maybe “the Lion and the Mouse” from Aesops fables. It’s a very RWBY moral, that a smaller, more simple soul can still make a difference. I also loved Fenix’s design from the Grimm Campaign, and would like to see something like it in the show.

From here on, a new chapter (1) begins. 

When adapting (the anime), the backbone is what will be the focal point. I interpreted Yashahime as “a story in which the princesses, together with new readers, come to understand the world of 'Inuyasha', Lord Sesshomaru and Inuyasha senpai through their adventure”.

So, in order to express this course as a “journey”, I brought in the setting of “Journey to the West” (2). This road-movie-like, or "rare road trip", so-called "Journey to the West" format has the advantage of making the process of character development and story progress superimposed on the journey, making the process towards the goal of the drama easier to understand, and is a technique often used in shounen manga since long time ago.

Inu no Taisho was a daiyoukai from the West (of Japan), so, as a journey to the core of the Inuyasha word, their roots, I think it’s logical to set the destination of the princesses in the West. But why didn't the anime do so? Because if that was the case, they would have left the Musashi region, where the characters in Inuyasha are from. Also, there’s the issue of where exactly the "Western regions" are, and how much of the circumstances and geography of the Warring States period is brought into this fairy tale world.

I adopted the idea that it would be better to go down a straight path in the comicalization so that the focal point could be narrowed down, but I am still trying to find the right balance between historical facts and fairy tales, such as whether to bring out local specialities (3) or what to do about dialects… Ah, I was thinking about poisonous high quality food now but is it rejected? It is, yes.

As the result of drawing the storyboard for the next time, it’s decided that master Yawaragi will appear, even though her role will be a little different from the anime. I thought that “since Moroha’s upbringing is different in this world line, I wonder if this master will have less screen time”, but it is unexpected. Then, the voice of Yawaragi in the original anime is played by Ryoko Shiraishi, who played the Kansai-speaking Teleporter Esper Aoi-chan in my work “Zettai Karen Children”. Unexpectedly, (Moroha’s) master is from the “Western wolf tribe, so I thought she should speak in Kansai dialect (laugh). Making her say “uchi” (4) was a bit exaggerated, but since she’s a quick-witted and agile wolf demon, “hyupaa” is inevitable. 

For those of you who say, "I don't know anything about Zettai Karen Children”, so I don't know what you mean", we will have a special surprise guest, unique to the comicalization world line, so please read on Sunday S, which goes on sale around the 25th. It's a surprise, so it's a secret who it is... but here's a hint: there’s a rumor that long ago, in the “Inuyasha” CD dramas, he was teased as “despite being a regular (5) character, he doesn’t stand out”.

The first volume of the manga will be released around January 18th (2022). It includes a talk between Takahashi sensei and me. If it was written by Takahashi sensei, it would definitely sell, but since it’s a comicalization of an original anime and moreover I’m the one drawing it, I have no idea how well it will sell. In other words, I think the number of copies will be limited, so it would make me feel relieved if you could reserve it at a bookshop.

I'm sad that I couldn't bring myself to write journals lately, because fun stuff happened! But I can't write them now, it's too late and I forget stuff easly. So let's write about today.

I had silly dreams today. First one was about me, my best friend and our friend A at a book store. I was buying Noragami, Hanako and something else and one of our schools PE teachers was working there for some reason?? It was funny. Than we walked out of the store and a boy from my class was walking around the shopping mall eating icecream. He walked up to our geography teacher who happened to be there too and told her that another boy from my class works in America and that he earns 50 dolars a month. My secound dream was about me going back home from school I suppose. I wanted to take a bus to my village but I took a train??? I have NEVER been in a train before. So I sat in the free space in a train, in something that reminds me of a small room, with 4 to 5 different people and the ride had begun. I was looking outside the trains window and I was figures of deers, in different poses and they were looking like real animals, but like, frozen? It made me creep out a little bit. And after some time bizzare things started to happen. Some kind of a weird monster got in the train and we had to fight it. At first everyone froze and were scared to move but I got so scared that I bit the monster. It had multiple heads and I started to bite them off. And so I defeted this creature with help of other people. I think that the monster attack had more stages/phases after this but I woke up soon after so I don't remember much.

When I woke up I've eaten breakfast that my dad did for me and soon after that a mailman came to our house with a package for me. I was very happy because it was my package with Sailor Moon Eternal Edition volume 1. I love Sailor Moon, and it's a very sentimental anime for me. I was happy that it's avaible at my country as a manga again. I started to read it imidiately. I really liked it. I really want to rewatch first 2 seasons and continue on watching Sailor Moon but I'm too busy watching other anime right now. Maybe after I will finish Inuyasha.

I also cleaned around the house today. It's Christmas soon and I had a mess in my room so I had to take care of it. I rearranged my furniture a little bit. I like the way it is now.

I've played minecraft a little bit today too. My best friend made a server with their friends so I was invated to play with them. I wandered around a little bit and I need to start building my house tommorow.

Today was due for my school powerpoint project but I think I'm to tired to do it at night so I will just leave it for tommorow. I feel bad about it but oh well. I hope my teacher won't be mad.

technically a lot: my eldest sister and bro were huge into manga before i was born so they amassed a huge collection of the inuyasha, yu-gi-oh, and digimon mangas. we also have a few stray romance ones

as for me personally, not much ig: i own all of part 1 of JJBA and about half of part 2, i own two volumes of the megaman nt warrior manga and two of the gigamix megaman mangas, two persona 4 mangas and one anthology, and all of OG DB and the about the first half of the saiyan saga alongside some doujins

OMG, OMG, OMG! IT HAPPENED! I swear I thought that's how Yashahime s going to end, but the REUNION happened earlier and it's still going on and I'm in tears because Moroha finally met her parents or for now at least one of them and look how happy they are too see each other and slightly awkward but so happy OMG 😭😭😭❤️❤️❤️ I'm so glad they didn't mess up with the Moroha Kagome reunion it was so heartwarming and the InuKag theme started playing and FEEEEEELS 😭❤️🥺

Okay so it’s been a while since I last wrote on here😋

Everything is going fine, I’m back at school, and I’ve been binging lots of shows.

In 2 days I watched:

Romantic Killer (I loved it, Anzu is ME)

Kiss him not me (It was actually my first anime, but rewatching it was so much fun. I’m so happy MC ends up with Asuma in the manga.)

Black Butler Circus (It was great; Sebastian and the tiger was super funny.)

I started binge watching Inuyasha too, I’m in love with Sesshomaru ☺️☺️☺️I’m in his age range guys!!!

My homeroom teacher is a confirmed jojo fan and he cosplayed one of my favorite characters (Kakyoin) which is pretty funny.

I’m also writing a story on another account, it’s going well💗

I ALSO HAVE 12 VOLUMES OF KAMISAMA KISS!!! I ordered the Tomoe nendoroid and my Kyoya one came in recently.

InuYasha was actually Rumiko Takahashi's first "serious shonen" series, all of her other series were very comedic, and even in the original InuYasha anime, and Yashahime you can feel her sense of comedy within, without it being a full-on comedy. She has been scolded by a fan before because of her sense of "weird comedy" within InuYasha and Yashahime.

“ Inuyasha was the first ‘hero for a manga targeted at boys’ that I drew. It was hard for me to transmit feelings to such a complete, perfect existence. That’s why the idea of han’youkai (half demon) was born. Half and half sounds good, right? When planning a character, in truth it’s easier to understand their image if somehow they’re not perfect. I like people with complexes. I also appreciate those who are perfect, but I can’t draw characters like that. That’s why I thought I should draw what I can. The complex of being a half demon will be the basis of the actions of the character called Inuyasha. That’s what I thought at the beginning of the serialization.”

"-My first long story without “comedy”

- Among all the stories written until that point, “Urusei Yatsura” is a science fiction story that takes place in no particular country, and “Ranma 1/2” has a Chinese touch, so on this occasion it had to be something Japanese, right? Plus, I needed a change of setting. I think every story has different readers, that’s why I wanted a different setting from “Ranma 1/2”, that was my previous work, and something less comedic, even if “InuYasha” is not a comedy. But I also thought that readers maybe wanted something “comedic”. There was an episode at the beginning of “InuYasha” for which I was scolded by a reader because they couldn’t laugh. They said my jokes “weren’t funny”. They probably expected a funny story, but were disappointed after reading it.  Maybe it was risky to change my style after “Ranma 1/2” but I thought it wasn’t so serious because “I only wanted to write something Japanese”.

 "I wanted “Inuyasha” to be the “shounen manga” kind of story that I  always wanted to create since I was a child. I started this project  because I wanted to invent a story aimed at teenagers without many  comedic elements. That was one of my dreams. As I had the chance to draw  for a magazine aimed at teens, I experienced a desire to work on a  different kind of narrative, even when I like comedy a lot. Osamu Kirin pays tribute to not only Dr. Tofu from her other work, Ranma 1/2, but Osamu Tezuka who was one of her biggest inspirations.
