You know how people say they're their favorite character's defense attorney? Well I'm the state prosecutor trying to convict Gwen Bouchard. Of what? No one is sure. I'm up there making long winded statements to the jury about everything she's done. I'm calling up witnesses, I'm cross examining, I'm interviewing experts, trying to get to the bottom of what exactly her deal is. Despite no one knowing what the charges are I'm arguing to the judge for her to be sentenced to 1000 years in my mind prison where I will be poking and prodding and conducting experiments on her. The judge is close to holding me in contempt of court. I should probably be disbarred from being a blorbo attorney.

My favorite 'eat your hamburgers, Apollo' moment will always be in AA Investigations 1 when the third case hinges on the fact only law enforcement is allowed to carry guns. In America.

Lang strolls up to us and is like "remember your country's gun laws?" never fails to feel surreal. like if you've temporarily forgotten this ia actually a Japanese game, here's the BIG reminder!

(They do vaguely indicate it's a recent law and say "federal firearms act" or something (party like it's 1938! I do appreciate the throwback there), sort of vaguely indicating "this is an AU! and it's the future! remember!" but it's like. for sure one of the moments the localizers were "ok we can't really do much about this so whatever" in the game.

A mass grave was discovered at al-Shifa Medical Complex after a deadly Israeli assault last month left the Gaza City hospital in ruins. Several bodies were found Monday in the hospital’s courtyard, including at least one person wearing underwear who appeared to have been “executed recently” according to an Al Jazeera Arabic reporter at the scene. After Israeli forces withdrew from the hospital on 1 April, teams from several government ministries were deployed to al-Shifa to remove and identify bodies. The searches were initiated after survivors said they witnessed the summary execution of Palestinians by Israeli forces during the two-week raid that started in mid-March.

Head of Research = Emily. Thoroughly established.

Head of Operations = Arish. Quasi-established. He's uneasy in the acting role but shown to be more than capable.

Head of Security = Wells. Guy from the clocks mission. Shown to have integrity, a named NPC who is still alive, and I like him.

Head of Communications = Langston in an acting role that Jesse bullies him into, then Barry eventually, who is poised to be very well-suited for it after managing Alan and the Old Gods. After we retrieve Barry from the wellness cult or whatever the fuck, that is.

Head of Investigations = Estevez, eventually. Since it's a mostly-decommissioned department, I think it would remain that way until some stability was established, and the duties would otherwise be split between Jesse, Arish, and Langston. But I feel like Jesse would want to prioritize its ethical oversight duties as essential (the same way Trench prioritized internal security), and she and Estevez would get on like a house on fire.

actually what i think would be cool is an ace attorney game where each case is its own individual mini-spinoff. first case is kristoph gavin: ace attorney a few years pre-aa4 with apollo as kristoph’s college intern and clay as the defendant. we get to learn more about clay and apollo’s friendship alongside apollo+kristoph and krisnix dynamic. we’re forced to forge evidence because there isnt anything concrete proving clay’s innocence, giving us an inside glimpse into a corrupt attorney’s life. second case is simon blackquill investigations pre-UR1 where on someone else dies at the space center and metis is accused. we see more of athena/simon/aura/metis family dynamic as well as athena and juniper’s friendship as children. manfred von karma investigations (kid miles and vk family dynamic) or lana skye investigations (pre-SL9 ema mia gant jake angel neil) or mia fey ace attorney (maya lana pearl morgan diego maybe even dahlia and iris) or robin newman ace attorney/hugh o’conner investigations (self-indulgent but would be so cute)….the possibilities are endless……just fun little ways to expand on pre-existing character dynamics that might not have been discussed too much without necessarily making an entire game revolving around those characters
