I'm so happy with these shits. I found a connection between Syd Barret, Brian Jones and Bon Scott...
Is nonsense, but enough for put me a smile :D let me explain :
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
1) Brian Jones baptized his band as The Rolling Stones by Muddy Waters. Years later, the rolling's covered "Baby please don't go" with Muddy Waters.
2) Syd Barret baptized his band as Pink Floyd by Pink Anderson. Pink Anderson composed "Baby please don't go"
3) Bon Scott from ACDC covered "Baby please don't go" , my favourite cover ever.
I know I know I know... Is a foolishness, but 3 of my idols had a connection between this song. Always was one of my favourite ACDC song, but no I know this... Have more special meaning for me ❤️☮️
Enjoy them as I do. Peace, love and rock and roll ☮️💟🤘

Something I think is extremely interesting thematically when it comes to connecting what Downfall and the ideas it tackled to the overarching narrative of campaign three is that the things Downfall made a point to showcase of Aeor—Cassida, Hallis, the visual of an aeormaton proposing to her partner, the specific and intentional decision to shed light on a far from insignificant amount of the population being civilians or refugees—is that it plays in perfect parallel across from what is happening (and, really, has been happening) to the ruidusborn on Exandria in present.
Bear with me for a moment. Aeor is ultimately a city that was collectively punished for the decisions of its leadership. We could (and, judging by the amount of discourse around this particular topic already, probably will) argue about what the Gods’ motivation for all of this was—whether it be that they could not, in the end, bear to kill their siblings or that they were terrified at the prospect of mortality—for me it is a very healthy dose of both—but for this I am much more interested in the latter. They were scared. That, really, is the driving force behind both this arc and their role in c3 as a whole.
Why I point this out is: It is far more interesting to me, especially as we go back to Bells Hells this week, to dissect the Gods and their decisions not purely on sympathetic motivation alone but as beings in the highest seat of power in the highest social class in Exandria.
So, having established that the Gods (in relation to mortals) are more a higher social class than anything we could compare to our real life understanding of divinity and that Aeor was eviscerated largely because of their fear—what is the difference between those innocents in Aeor caught in the trappings of their autocratic government leadership and a divine war on the ground, and those of the ruidusborn being manipulated both by Ludinus and by the very thing that inspired such visceral fear in the Gods to start with. I would argue very little.
I think of Cassida, doing what she genuinely thought was right and good and would save people, her son, and the object of her worship—and how that did not matter enough to any of them to spare her because of the fear they held at the very concept of mortality. I think of Liliana and Imogen, one of which we know begged for the gods to help her or send her a sign for years on years, and how every single one of their largest struggles could have been avoided had the gods loved them, their supposed children, as much as they feared what they could be. I think of how the thing that did save Imogen, in the end, was a woman who herself existed in direct defiance of the gods will. I think of that young boy, sixteen years old, that Laudna exalted on Ruidus.
I think it’s completely fair to judge Aeor’s overall society as deeply corrupt—it was!—but its leadership and police force are not a reflection of every one of its citizens. Similarly, it is fair to judge the Ruby Vanguard as corrupt—it is!—but its multiple heads of leadership and even the god-eater further are not a reflection of every one of its members.
Notably, and what I think the Hells will latch onto, this did not matter to the Gods. It did not matter that Cassida was trying to help. She was still too much of a risk. Will it matter, what Imogen does? Will it matter, if that young boy is in the blast radius when they decide to take no further chances?
I’ve seen a lot of people say that the Hells will side with the gods and I don’t think I agree. Especially as Imogen has been scolded and villainized over and over for daring to try and save her mother—who herself has been seen by some as an irredeemable evil in spite of her drive being the exact same—her family—but when it’s the Gods it’s justified? When it’s the Gods, it’s sympathetic? Too sympathetic to criticize further than “they’re family”?
I obviously do not think the Gods should die or be eaten or what have you, and I certainly don’t agree with Ludinus (though I find him much more compelling than just a variation of hubris wizard), but when talking about the Gods in Aeor and in present it isn’t really at all about their motivation or their family. It can’t be. Too many people, including our active protagonists, lives have been effected for it to be as cut and dry as “they’re family”. These are your children. They are your family, too.
#critical role#cr meta#cr spoilers#critical role spoilers#imogen temult#liliana temult#ludinus da'leth#does this make sense. I feel like i lost my initial thread somewhere around the middle bc my brain is currently spread very thin#but tldr: it is extremely interesting to me that the fall of aeor is such a perfect parallel to the ruidusborn#i could also go on endlessly ENDLESSLY about how cassida and liliana play the exact same role#and also i could go on even longer on what divinity as a concept even means in a world like exandria#and how trying to compare it to our real life understanding of divinity is a bit fruitless#on the basis that a person can become a god alone but also that they themselves undeniably exist#but its so good. it ties in so well. brennan did a fucking fantastic job at capturing the abject horror of it all#also aabria iyengar if you can hear me PLEASE bring deanna back i will send you fifty dollars#and also hello i very briefly said hello at the live show and wanted to tell you how incredible i think you are but alas#where did these tags go#anyway#WOAH this is long. I should’ve been writing fic. alas.#really I don't think any of the hells are gonna be able to just. gloss over the casualties of it all. but especially mog and ashton and lau#tal has even already said that downfall made some things better for ash and some things Worse so I know I'm not too far off#I have. many many thought on how laudna will see it all too.#truly think she is going to be the most vocally horrified

~ Justice League (2011)
Alfred being the one behind the Jason "A good soldier" memorial in the Batcave makes so much sense! After all, he is a british ex-soldier. This is a war memorial! War memorials, in western europe, were born after WWI, because the population asked for them, to remember by their family and friends who had died during the great war. And because it's a war memorial, the plate says "A Good Soldier".
Bruce hated that memorial, after all, he hates when people call his children "soldiers", but didn't took it down because it was Alfred.
Jason knows Bruce doesn't like the memorials. However, if he is helping, he doesn't have a strong negative opinion about them.
"That's your problem, Jason, you still see yourself as "another" Robin, but you were as much of a son to Bruce as Damian was " Jason is in denial that he is Bruce's son, and Alfred is tired of it. He will not let him insult the love Bruce and he had (and have) for him. I need more Alfred tired of Jason's bs in fic, lol
Also, once again, they all are Bruce's sons and Damian isn't special. This one is for some DC writers, they know who they are!
Alfred putting up Damian's memorial with Jason, the other person he set up a memorial for, is so symbolical. Maybe it's about hope, to remember that he could come back to them like Jason has. Maybe it's about the "sanctity" of putting up the memorial, not doing it with the living but with another "dead", another "soldier".

Ok now for the more “fun” angst scenarios I have:
I know there are fics out there that have written this but I really want one that shows Dick’s full reaction to believing that Nix had been killed in Operation Varsity. I imagine him absolutely losing it. Like completely losing it. SCREAMING. Throwing anything in his sight and breaking it against the wall. Yelling at people to DO SOMETHING about it as if there were anything that could be done. Blaming poor people who are just standing there that it’s somehow their fault. Swearing that he’s going to personally hunt down and kill every single German responsible and whatever asshole General or Colonel who signed off on the mission. And everyone is just standing there watching him helpless not knowing what to do and scared and speechless, because they’ve never seen him like this before. They’ve never seen ANYONE like this before. They had no idea Dick could even act like this, and they don’t know how to console him or calm him down. They’re scared to even approach him and be the next victim of his wrath. They all knew of course how close Dick and Nix were, and maybe some of them had their suspicions of *just* how close they were, but this reaction from Dick really silently confirms to all of them the true nature of their relationship. And finally after several hours of throwing and breaking things and screaming and yelling and threatening anyone in his way, Dick just goes completely silent and emotionless. He says he’s going to bed and just sits down on his bed in his billet and doesn’t say a word. Just stares into space. And finally Harry cautiously walks over to him. Doesn’t say anything but silently gives him his support and his invitation to open up if he wants to. And then maybe Dick just says “I love him, Harry. I love him.” And then breaks down sobbing, sobs that wreck his whole body. And Harry pulls him into his arms trying to comfort him as Dick cries “He’s my PERSON. He’s my Kitty. He’s everything. I can’t live without him. I NEED him.” And then through more wrecked sobs Harry is able to make out: “How could God take him away from me? I failed to protect him.”
He ends up crying himself to sleep but only for a few hours and wakes up early but doesn’t get up like he usually does, just stays lying in bed staring at the wall. No one comes to get him even though he has places he’s supposed to be. He doesn’t show up to the supply briefings but no one questions it or mentions if. Everyone else is freaking out about what to do about him but for now they leave him be. And then there’s a knock at his door late in the morning and a runner is telling him that there was bad intel, there was a mistake and Nix actually is okay and he’s on his way back right now.
Ok I have a couple other ones I can share as well if you want sorry these are so long 😭 I just love being able to finally share these with a fellow angst lover

Nobody fucking talk to me i just finished rewatching arcane and it was DEVASTATING I need to KILL
#i have some thoughts marinating about silco and loyalty especially in the last episode#and his relationship with jinx and sevika and vander and ough#its marinating its marinating#but like. vander's philosophy is loyalty above all else and the lanes reflect that when hes in charge#silco's philosophy is that every one betrays him/jinx and that's why he can fight piltover#unlike vander he doesnt care about the casualties or the suffering he causes because hes all alone. he cant trust anyone#but then last episode vander makes TWO choices that put loyalty above all else#the whole show we see silco's power crumbling. the chembarons are riled up marcus dies so he has no pawns in piltover etc#but he makes the decision to trust sevika's loyalty (even says 'i still believe in loyalty')#and bc of that she eradicates a threat for him. she kills finn and picks up his lighter (symbolising power) and gives it to silco#and THEN he chooses not to give jinx up not even to achieve an independent zaun#(granted we dont see it come to fruition)#but in making that choice he assures jinx's loyalty to him even after his death#silco was willing to give up everything hed worked for for jinx and so jinx gave up the chance of reconciliation with vi to achieve their#mutual goal#like. silco had made plans for peace and in setting off the rocket jinx destroyed that possibility#but silco was never gonna go for thag deal anyway AND silco was dead#like jayce said you cant make a deal with a snake and cut off its head#the deal was never gonna work. instead she returned to their original plan of building and using a weapon against piltover#which is the plan silco would have returned to if hed been alive given he wasnt gonna follow through on the deal for peace#so yeah. silcos undercity is built on power rather than loyalty but his control is fracturinf the whole time#its ultimately loyalty which keeps him in power and achieves his goals#ALSO the line 'is there anything so undoing as a daughter' is interesting here#because vander gave up his idealogy of pacifism to protect those he cares about in order to save vi#he gives into violence once again because its the only way to save her from silcos goons#but silco gives into loyalty and turns his back on his vision of a free zaun because of jinx#idkidk its all fun and muddled and hmmm#arcane

so. ae was thinking
what happens to fiddleford in the (nightmare realm possessed) evil ford au? cause he doesn't follow after him like stan does. and it happens in gravity falls, and it happens while the niblings are in piedmont cause it's post weirdmaggedon, so they have a reason for not following (aside from stan just. not letting them come with)
our current idea is that fiddleford is the second fatality of the event (cause ford was the first). maybe, not knowing the severity of the situation, he tries to get through to ford and evil ford plays along until fiddleford gets close enough to grab
but...like. there's probably better stuff we could use him for, y'know? so that's still a work-in-progress

Not as obscure but it’s still kind of interesting— I’m not sure how much footage there is of NiGHTS’ 2P mode, but I found a video that shows all of its features pretty well! They start 2P at about 17 minutes and show a few rounds 👀

Actually yeah it is really interesting the way DMC uses its relatively repetitive plot cause like despite literally every game having the basic premise of "demon attack some guy is doing crazy shit" none of that really ever, matters. It's always set dressing for what Devil May Cry stories really are about and that is extremely personal conflict within families, especially the Sparda family. In 1 Dante get's brought to Mallet Island cause Mundus is trying to unite the demon world and the human world but like, does any of this really matter? No not really, it's just an excuse to get Dante there. Mundus isn't an antagonist/villain to face because he's ending the world, it's because he's the one responsible for destroying Dante's family. This keeps true for the rest of the franchise and it's also why the antagonists* themselves aren't necessarily that deep, because their desires to rule the human world are just stepping stones for the central familial conflicts/narratives the story explores. The asterisk there is obvious, it isn't a coincidence that Vergil, who can be considered the overarching antagonist of the franchise and clearly its best, is the antagonist directly tied to that familial conflict.

Do you think Tashi was happy with Art? I just wonder why she kept going back to Patrick, she couldn't have been satisfied. I'm sure Art was a good husband, but I get the feeling that maybe their marriage was boring.
Oooo anon i been waiting to yap about this LETS GET INTO IT ->
I think at some point, Art was the only person who could make Tashi happy. She’s been feeling unfulfilled coaching little leagues and she misses the high stakes the thrill the fame blabla and Art gave that to her. He was also who helped her when she was going through the painful journey of recovery. He represents safety and stability for her.
Now is that a little boring sometimes? Maybe, for someone like Tashi though? That shit’s terminal. At some point, they both became stagnant (especially when Art stops caring about the way he plays) and they both lose their passion for the sport (and in turn their relationship).
The whole thing with Patrick though is sort of separate (but still connected of course). Patrick is just like Tashi, they’re thrill seekers adrenaline junkies fire starters but where Patrick enjoyed being soft with Art, Tashi sorts of hates(?) it because she its all she gets. Falling into Patrick is just like falling into a habit you thought you grew out of.
I truly don’t think anything could satisfy Tashi because it was her potential that was taken from her. She’ll never know how far she could’ve gone. Their marriage was missing the passion (Patrick) and I think if they get their heads outta their asses and go to throuples counseling they might actually be happy🙄🙄

done with mechanicum. i think it's pretty safe to say that graham mcneill circa 2008 was the weakest of the heresy writers so far at that point, but i like that he writes rogal dorn and ferrus manus as hunks and he's pretty funny (sometimes accidentally) so i will let it slide. i hope that i can see him improve i read books that came out in later years, but you can feel moments like this where it feels like he's trying to hit a word count.
“‘The labyrinth of the night?’ asked Caxton.  ‘Are you sure that’s what he said?’ ‘Yes, absolutely,’ said Dalia.  ‘The labyrinth of the night.’ ‘The Noctis Labyrinthus,’ said Mellicin, and Caxton nodded. Dalia looked at the pair of them.  ‘Noctis Labyrinthus… what’s that?’ ‘The Labyrinth of the Night, it’s what Noctis Labyrinthus means,’ replied Caxton.”

kinda late on this but it’s 37 years since the first episode of series 2, one of my favourite early Casualty episodes, A Little Lobbying aired!
montage scene I think is fun (followed by what you might not think is hospital-politics-based flirting, but absolutely is that):
