More prototype plushes!! The proto Christmas NiGHTS plush looks more like the regular NiGHTS plush as opposed to being a little keychain plush. From Sega Magazine, March 1997

Also an additional Christmas thing/kind of lost physical media(?)- these 3 copies of Christmas NiGHTS signed by Naoto Ohshima and Yuji Naka were given away by Sega Magazine along with some special art of NiGHTS and Sonic!

I don’t know if that specific artwork is archived anywhere else so it can be seen in full, also I’m 99.99999% certain those signed games have never been resold or anything (I wouldn’t either though lol). Also there’s some sort of little drawing on the games, I think it’s NiGHTS’ eyes?

Some fan letters from two issues of Sega Saturn Magazine, both about the NiGHTS plush series

The first letter’s sender is talking about how if you throw the NiGHTS plush in the air, it’s like how they fly in the game, and the second letter is a response to the first, where the sender talks about tossing the Reala plush around with their brother and friend… and then tying Reala to a ceiling fan’s pullstring to make him fly 😟

Some miscellaneous NiGHTS merch from magazines. The hat and phone cards are pretty well known, but I’ve never seen the CD case and the Christams shirts are also kind of uncommon. Also another photo of the prototype plushes (kind of low quality though)

For some inexplicable reason, the in-game version of NiGHTS’ “After the Dream” from the red book audio straight off the game’s CD sounds much cleaner and has much nicer stereo separation than its OST counterpart.  

The OST version, however, is a more complete and extended version of the song, with both an intro and outro not heard in the game itself, which had to be cut from the game due to storage limitations.

Still very odd that the OST version is much more poorly mastered, in any case.
