" it's ... " something about the scent is off. not that the ingredients are rotten, but perhaps a mismatched flavor profile , a lack of cohesion in the dish. still, sanji delicately lifts the food from the plate to his mouth, chewing slowly ... understanding how the hell they thought these ingredients were supposed to complement each other. then again, not everyone had the culinary know-how. " where did you get this recipe from ? "

Reminder that Sanji has willingly put his own damn fingers in Zoro’s ‘barbaric’ and ‘disgusting’ mouth
Also bonus Sanji giving the biggest shit eating grin I’ve ever seen:

" but--- you won't know until you try! " there's a desperate strain to his voice, his heart aching in his chest at the thought of being anywhere in the world without her. the only semblance of peace he found was being near her , even when he's had the most grueling of days.
perhaps though, sanji was being unfair. his mom truly isn't well and sailing away on rocky seas could aggravate her illness. he wouldn't want to be the cause of anything terrible to happen to her. for now, he reluctantly drops the issue, determined to think of some way to convince her away from the island should the time come that he would leave. " what ... what do you think is out there ? "
As he curled up to her Sora tucked the blanket around him, keeping their combined warmth against her. As he questioned her she sighed softly, knowing that these weren't easy questions for her to answer. Smoothing his hair down she tried to piece together what she would tell him.
"I'm not well." That much was obvious. "Your father is the only one who knows the right medicines for me. I don't think there any out in the world who knows how to make the medicines." Her husband was a brilliant man, but she knew part of her illness was punishment for defying him. "So I have to stay here. But you my love, there is a whole world out there for you to find."

I just think it's funny if, post-timeskip, Sanji has changed... but not that much.

" i'm surprised more people haven't heard of the all blue. a life near or on the seas and it's been reduced to a myth ... a far-gone legend that most laugh at. ---well, that could be all it is. " there's a melancholic edge to his tone, but it recovers quickly, blue eyes tilting up to meet the other's. " but, i'm determined to prove that wrong. it's out there. i know it. "

Post-canon Sanji feeding Zoro’s young challengers is canon to me. Like these younglings getting their asses handed to them by Zoro only to wake up to a beautiful blond man with the kindest blue eyes offering them a meal and encouraging them to try again next time. Sanji puts up advertisements offering a banquet on the house to anyone who takes the new title of Greatest Swordsman too. Jokingly. But maybe not entirely. Because as sad as he would be to see Zoro go, he sees the rise of the next generation as something to be celebrated. Just like all the other great men before him have done.

he’s  gathering  supplies  for  his  crew,  perusing  the  stalls  lined  up  one  after  the  other.  they  boast  of  fresh  vegetables,  fruits,  seafoods,  and  meats;  some  are  delicacies  he’s  only  read  about  and  have  never  had  the  pleasure  of  utilizing  in  his  dishes.  counting  what’s  left  of  the  budget  nami-san  so  generously  provided,  he  decides  there’s  just  enough  left  to  splurge  on  a  few  specialty  items.
the  cook  pays  special  attention  to  one  stall  in  particular,  advertising  a  host  of  mushrooms  and  a live  demonstration  of  the  versatility  of  the  maitake.   it’s  a  little  pricier  than  what  he’s  seen  before ,  but  he’s  already  dreaming  up  the  different  dishes—  buttered  over  a  creamy  seafood  pasta ,  a  battered  and  fried  recipe  paired  with  sake ,  a  nice  warm  broth  with  miso  and  wakame.  the  options  were  endless !
after  purchasing  and  maneuvering  his  way  through  the  crowded  path,  his  gaze  is  drawn  to  a  head  of  orange  hair  bobbing  through  the  crowd.  before  he  could  call  out  her  name,  his  shoulder  jostles  against  another’s,  nearly  losing  balance  of  the  box  of  groceries  under  his  arm.    turning  to  glance  at  the  stranger  and  mutter  his  apologies,   the  words  die  on  his  tongue—  it’s  like  looking  into  a  mirror !
“  wh–  ”   it  must  be  a  trick !  a  mask  devised  by  usopp  or  franky.  it’s  the  only  option  he  can  think  of  because  the  person  he’s  staring  at  is  a  carbon  copy  of  himself.   maybe  if  he  looked  past  the  general  features,  he  would  spot  the  smaller  details  that  differed  between  them.   “  who  the  hell’re  you ??  ”

sanji's gaze cuts towards her poised hand , reaching for the cigarette between his lips. it takes a second to register what she's asking. when he does, eyes widen both in surprise and the suggested intimacy of the gesture. at least, that's how he would read it in his mind. it wasn't the time for him to point out such things nor to react as obviously as he might, so he tries to reel himself in.
" o-of course--- " sanji stammers, pinching the cigarette between his forefinger and thumb, handing it to her. he watches her slender fingers gingerly take the cigarette, pressing it between her lips. he tries not to stare , though failing for several seconds.
when he does pry his gaze away, he clears his throat and shoves his hands into his pockets. " i didn't know you smoked. " was the only thing that he could manage to say as he glanced away, hoping that the warmth flooding his cheeks would die down.
Nami has never seriously smoked. As a teenager, she tried it once, Arlong's crew dangling vices in front of the pet human for cheap entertainment. No one was going to get the better of her, so she snatched a cigarette out of the nearest fishman's hand and pressed it to her lips. It tasted like ash and long ago memories.
In the following years, she also picked it up to lure in unsuspecting victims to rob, painting whatever picture worked best for the moment: the femme fatale, the wide-eyed ingénue looking to be guided, so on and so forth. But smoking has never been of her own volition, not really.
Cigarettes have always reminded her of her mom -- and now, of Sanji. They paint a picture of comfort given in times where she needs it most and often doesn't know how to ask for it. As a child, the end of a curling trail of smoke meant her mother's sharp wit and warm smile. Now, it brings her to Sanji's endlessly blue gaze and steady hands.
Hesitation is an unknown feeling for Nami but it overcomes her as she lifts a hand, pausing mid-way. "Can I...?" her eyes fall to his cigarette.
