But what you just said in your PSA is what the whole point of shipping is about! Getting to dive down deep to understand the other characters feelings, having them bond and form a strong connection, experiencing the emotional highs and lows we put our characters through. That my dear is shipping, it's forming the chemistry and creating a relationship for these wonderful fictional characters. That relationship isn't always romantic, there is far more platonic friendship shipping.

So many rpers now adays think shipping is just smut, there's so much more to shipping than smut and you can definitely have shipping without it. Basically shipping is just enjoying our characters interact on a meaningful emotional level. Shipping is forming a connection between characters.

(Also I think that menace anon is just obsessed with Lifeweaver, I've seen very similar things sent to the other Lifeweaver rp blogs around. They'll go away when they're no longer getting the attention they want.)

Respectfully, my dear, I've been rping for way longer than I'd like to admit (damn near 2 decades). I know what shipping is. I also know what collection is. I have been on the short end of that stick and it made me feel like absolute shit, which is why I created that PSA. Not for menace anon, but for anyone following me who just wants to ship with any Lifeweaver regardless of mun interpretation because "ooh pretty Asian man with tig old biddies". If I wanted to go further, I could talk about objectification and fetishization, but quite frankly, it's way too damn early in the morning and my brain is still fuzzy from sleep.

ETA: There's a reason why I said 'insta-ship' on my original PSA. Not ship. Insta-ship. There is a difference. But I'm definitely not going to put in the time to develop a ship with someone who I feel just wants to collect Lifeweavers. That's an icky feeling--almost as if my character is just a slot in some lusty/romantic fantasy instead of a realized character with their own motivations.

The next time you want to explain a simple roleplaying concept to someone, maybe do it off anon so a conversation can happen instead of a vaguely condescending anon post that assumes a level of familiarity that we might not have based on the fact that you are on anon.

Force a ship on me. That’s happened before and it was an extremely unpleasant situation. I like writing intricate stories, exploring many kinds of relationships and not just romantic ones so if shipping is all you care about, I’m not the right blog for you. Godmod. Some mild stuff is fine but if we’re writing a scene where a fight is taking place or something, don’t severely hurt or kill my character without plotting that with me first, that would be just rude.

So this is sort of a horror-themed blog so things like blood and violence won’t be tagged, if things do get a little too explicit however, I will be tagging the posts as “[insert trigger here] cw”, smut and the like will be tagged as nsfw and put under a read more. I do some formatting and usually add icons to my replies. But if you don’t do that, it’s fine, I don’t really care about that and I will still write with you so no worries!

I write some characters from video games here and I know some people prefer to use rl faceclaims for those while others just use screencaps from the games to make icons. I'm okay with either, really and will adapt to my rp partner's choice regarding that when we're writing together. 

My Resident Evil muses are heavily affiliated with my friend's ( cautionsissued ), since we've done lots of plotting together for them. So her muses Chris, Claire, Carlos, Mia, Rose and Sherry are my mains. But if you write one of those characters too, don't worry, I still will rp with you, it just won't be set in my main/default verse but in a different one. I'm always open to plotting and starting new au's as stated above, that being said-- never let me having a main for a certain character discourage you from writing with me!

I tend to get a little carried away while writing replies sometimes, but never feel like you have to match the length of said replies! Quality over quantity always. :’)

Sometimes muses happen to click immediately. It's not up to me, I don't control this woman at all.

Can someone please explain to me what's with this phenomenon that keeps occurring where my muses, particularly this one female muse of mine, are used by others? Where virtually none of their friendships are authentic?

She's not being used for sex or anything like that (because no one is ever interested in shipping with her, she's demiaroace, I'm not instaship, and there could be other reasons that would just take too long to go into here) - but she's always being used for things like resources, or emotionally, or for plot reasons like to advance someone else's ship. In most cases I don't consent to this because the friendship is presented like it's genuine, only for the mun to come out later and say "oh he doesn't really think of her as an actual friend", or for it to be made clear by how the other muse treats her in one threads versus the next. It'd be one thing if we agreed on this and it was made clear in the beginning, like in a couple cases, but for the majority of them where it wasn't made clear...

I've had to go so far as to put something in my rules about this. I know mun does not equal muse and you can't take things personally, but after this happening so many times I can't help but start to feel personally hurt over this. And it has started to feel personal, even intentional sometimes. In one case, one of my mutuals did admit to personally taking their anger over something else unrelated out on my muse through their muse. It makes me wonder sometimes, especially since this is such a common thing now.

Why is this a thing with my muses, specifically this one muse of mine? And why is always muns having their male muses use her this way? I'm going to give people the benefit of the doubt and say it's not being done intentionally and maliciously, but still, what's going on here? I want ask the rpc for insight, so, I'm coming onto here and putting my question out there.

hello, i'm brina/sabrina, mentally unwell and obsessed with faeries. i overthink everything and am more afraid of you than you could possibly be of me. i wont put my entire guidelines in here because, honestly, i just kept blabbering. but general important things;

william afton is a villain. he's a horrible despicable person. but he also has his moments. even the most unforgivable people do. but, i do NOT agree with the fandoms desire to turn him into a p*do. that's even worse than what he already is. and what he already is is terrible. that's why he's headcanon based. i've worked on his canon for ages at this point. i dont actually care what scott produces now, i'm doing what i want with him, but i will take inspiration from the series. i do tend to follow along with what my partners write in fandom though, for ease.

cassandra is my character now, but her past iterations have been on this blog for over 10 years now. since september 2013, in fact. she used to be b.urton's dormouse, and named mallymkun, but she's not anymore. she's my own (sort of) girl. she's my character now, and a cheshire cat now. she's evolved well beyond any past 'canons' i may have had. her most progressed and written out verses are the 'canon' verse, and my o.nce u.pon a t.ime verse. but i do have verses in multiple other fandoms for her.

there's a level of reflection i put into these characters. william is often considered a great man by those around him. tragedy follows him, and people are unaware that he is the cause of that tragedy. he uses his charm and prestige to his advantage. he takes full advantage of others innocence to make himself look better, and is an excellent liar. he's still a serial killer, and oft twists herrings into his words.

cassandra, on the other hand, is often twisted into a villain by those around her in her home. when in truth, she's monstrously loyal, but holds care she doesn't know what to do with. she's painted a villain by the monarchy to ensure she can't gain traction, and she's in hiding for most of her life to avoid imprisonment. she's not necessarily a hero, and even her species consider her existence a threat, but she's not entirely a villain either unless she's pushed to the point. she does holds reigns with the image of a sacrificial lamb, but she can very very easily turn into a monster herself if the charge arises.

(if you recognize me from the past and don't want to follow me, that's fine. i remember some people but not everyone. i know some of my old friends have new guidelines that i wouldn't fall under, and that's chill. your comfort first babes.)

🔥 Shipping!

Shipping's fun, and it gets to be fun. It can absolutely be complex and beautiful....but also it doesn't have to be, no more than any other genre of writing. That's how you get a lot of people interested, and yet 'scared' to ask- please learn to ask further questions and discuss, just as importantly as taking yes/no/maybe for an answer. as for a handful of personal unpop shipping things for me:

I'm perfectly ok with giving an 'instashipping' answer, aka a yes/no, provided we can discuss the details further as we go along- it's not so much about the ship itself as it is not Powerplaying my muse into somebody they aren't. This includes blood family/fankids/etc. I'm perfectly fine with my muses being a parent for example, but you do not get to tell me/demand what kind of parent/lover/etc.; that's what plotting is for.

My muses have their own personality anyways, and I try not to sweat the small stuff; ~but it would be OOC/character would never love you/them!~~~~ sounds really stupid to me, both from a writer's perspective and meta. A] 'controlling' my muse to the point of no agency/surprises IC just to be Cool and Accepted sounds boring as fuck B] no the fuck it would not anyways. people do silly shit when they're in love, and you can always make it 'fit' the character anyways. shipping doesn't always mean perfect protection/favouritism.

I'm actually not used to the term 'f/o' and it's still awkward in my mouth, but use it cause it's a good term. anyways i find selfshipping/canonxoc adorable, not just mine.

I'm highly comfortable with divergent duplicate ships, idk my brain doesn't want to get 'stuck' with one option. It would be cool for example, if every duplicate of a certain muse wanted to ship romantically- every portrayal is different! <3 but if you see them more as siblings, familial, or other, that's cool too! like, i'm not gonna shit my pants cause some people on this website saw the celestic characters differently. We've got: Volo and Cogita are married/involved, both cynthia's ancestors Volo is Cogita's son Volo transitions into Cynthia Volo is Cynthia's father and etc. etc. etc. I've got defaults in place for my own muses @ each other, but that's about it. I'm chill.

i'm not singleship largely on the basis of activity-Partners Leave. but i will enjoy the possibilities nonetheless!

do I have Lifeweaver ships and NOTPs? Yes. And I’m partial to them. However, chemistry is so important here in terms of dynamics. I think keeping an open mind makes roleplay fun!

plus there’s other dynamics than straight up romantic ones. Niran is a romantic creature at heart, but I’m not going to instaship out of the blue (especially without talking to the mun), I promise!
