Thunder booms; a deafening rumble that echoes dangerously through storm-heavy clouds. Yingfu feels it down to his bones, and it’s fucking terrifying.

Battles between gods always are. The only question is: Will it remain a battle between gods, or would it spill over to involve countless casualties?

Briefly, Yingfu chances a quick glance upwards. The clouds are so dark that the sky appears black, like the lightless ocean floor. But even then, there are still glimpses of color that light up the heavens. First a sickly violet glow, and then a gleam of blinding white scales–

Thunder booms once more, nearly knocking Yingfu flat on his ass.

… It’s not even thunder, really. It’s the young princess fighting an angry god all on her own, and there’s nothing that Yingfu or Changxi or anyone else can even do. None of them are fighters; the ones capable of high-level combat are Lord Osial’s generals, and none of them patrol the territories of the young princess’ Coral Pavilion. Their only hope lies in Lord Osial granting assistance, in sending them help against this hostile god–

But Changxi had already been gone for ages, and so far there were no signs of any forthcoming help.

For all intents and purposes, the young princess was on her own.

… I knew she should’ve eaten that mangy bird and saved us the trouble. The uncharitable thought is brief, and Yingfu forcibly shakes it from his mind. It’s not the poor bird’s fault that his Master is insane. The Mistress of Dreams is a god undeserving of their title, and greedy. It was only a matter of time before they turned their gaze upon the seemingly-neglected territory that the young princess ruled in her father’s name. 

From that perspective, this battle was only inevitable. Whether or not the young princess stole a favored pet from the God of Dreams ultimately would not have changed anything in the grand scheme of things.

Yet, a god is still a god. A divine entity. The young princess is powerful, certainly, but would she be able to win against a god?

Dark droplets scatter down from the sky; wet, and warm. Yingfu doesn’t know whose blood it is, but he prays that it does not belong to the young princess–

I AM MALPHAS, GOD OF DREAMS. HEAR ME AND OBEY.

Oh, what a terrible headache. There’s something about the god’s voice that echoes and reverberates in Yingfu’s head, compounding upon itself in a way that almost feels like it’s about to split Yingfu’s skull in two. Yingfu blinks, and curls his fingers into the sand–

–wait, the sand? Why is he on his knees? Hadn’t he been standing just a moment ago? What was–

ALL WHO SLUMBER, AND ALL WHO WAKE. ALL SHALL HEED ME AND SERVE.

Yingfu can’t think. Can’t breathe. He can’t–

Can’t–

…

(The clouds split. Sunlight spills through the crevice, a beacon of light that slices through the dark.

Yingfu has a perfect view of the young princess snapping her jaws down over the God of Dreams. Biting down, then swallowing, and suddenly Yingfu’s body is his own again.

The young princess throws back her head and howls, and the churning stormclouds around her abruptly disperse in full to reveal the dazzling light of day once more.

She looks–

out of curiosity, what software(s) do you use? and how is it set up like dual boot?

I don't dual boot. I'm not sure what you mean by software(s) but for loading literally anything Windows, I use Lutris.

For Photoshop, I literally just install this and run it through Lutris without full-screen. I still dont know how to install the .dds tools on this method yet. All Github forks require an insane amount of set up because they are not maintained well.

For every other program (Nvidiatools install, SimPE, Hair Binner, HCDU, etc.) I also use Lutris. It really does work wonders.

for some reason my dash on firefox went back to the 'GO PREMIUM' button covering all my access to my likes and queue and drafts so i had to update the stylus extension (which the old version recently expired on firefox for some reason???) and re-install this old tumblr dashboard theme, in case anyone had the same issue on the firefox browser like i did or maybe it was just me

Old Tumblr Dashboard (Userstyle)!!

I created a Userstyle for the Chrome/Firefox Stylus Extension that reverts the new dashboard to the old format. This took a lot of tweaking and it's not perfect at all, but if anyone wants it I'll be uploading it soonish now!

You need to have Stylus installed. So if you don't have it:

Install the Stylus Firefox Addon or the Manifest V2 Chrome Extension (You can install Chrome Extensions on Edge as well)

Once it's installed into Firefox/Chrome/Edge you can proceed with adding this style or any other.

To add the style (Stylus), follow the instructions:

Click on "install".

Style will open a tag with it and in the left side you'll have a button that says "install style", click there. (Step-by-step copied from the lovely dorothyoz39 who wrote this in a reply!) For Manifest V3 only Chrome Or Stylus incompatible browsers:

For Chrome Manifest V3 install the Tampermonkey Extension

Then add the Tampermonkey Backup Script instead of the Stylus version

----- Known issues:

Only two columns in Masonry view. Unfixable, Tumblr creates columns based on monitor size, if I try adding another column (because it doesn't exist) it just perpetually loads on screen. Tempfix: Zoom out in chrome/firefox and it adds more columns

Search bar doesn't appear on some pages (like viewing a post), this is because Tumblr removed the search bar on those pages completely. Unfixable!

Tumblr has ONCE AGAIN CHANGED THE ACCOUNTS MENU. The menus are now shorter and have less information on them. This is unfortunately permanent. I do not see any way to fix this. Unfixable.

If you want people's icons to stay fixed in place, instead of scrolling with the dashboard add;

to the top of the code! You can also create a second userstyle by clicking the 'tumblr.com' part of the link in 'Write new Style' and adding the code in there! That way you don't have to worry about re-adding it when you update.

Solved issues: (Update)

Menus need to be manually closed SOLVED! in V.4 and updated in V.5! The menu & icon WILL scroll with you if you have removed the sticky header CSS, however, clicking anywhere on screen will make the Menu disappear still.

Masonry view in searches is now fixed!

A very similar post could be made about maths education.

I feel like people can be overly harsh on it. People that struggle with it and find it boring go on to depict it as boring and abstract in media, which sort of primes the next generation to see it that way. But at the same time, we could be doing a lot more to help people connect the theorems and logical techniques they're learning to real life.

We use those techniques to work out the dimensions of (and materials needed for) a wall we're painting or garment we're sewing or the parts of a furniture piece so they can fit together. We use them to work out how much money we'd get through interest over X years if we save Y per month and can use that to compare the outcomes of different financial decisions. We use them to critique whatever new scientific study journalists are hyping up beyond its original conclusions. We use them in philosophy to check whether our arguments are genuinely airtight.

As a biology student it especially pains me how people are failed wrt statistics and the scientific method. Everyone should be taught things like what variance is, and what makes results statistically significant, and the effect of small sample sizes on the conclusions we can draw from results, and better societal understanding of those things (plus general principles of good experiment design)

And as someone who wants to not starve in the future, on top of the importance of teaching people maths so they can make proper financial decisions I feel like we should be taught more about investing. Actual long-term investment strategies that most people should follow to grow savings over decades, not YOLOing everything into Tesla.

When you understand that kids and teenagers being salty about literary symbolic analysis comes from a very real place of annoyance and frustration at some teachers for being over-bearing and pretentious in their projecting of symbolism onto every facet of a story but you also understand that literary analysis and critical thinking in regards to symbolism is extremely important and deserves to be not only taught in schools, but actively used by writers when examining their own work to see if they might have used symbolism unintentionally and to make sure that they are using symbolism effectively:
