it's so interesting that noel basically, in a way, followed in dorothy's footsteps and did to her exactly what dorothy had done to fiona--and his motivations were basically the exact same as what dorothy's were: keep claire and sirius safe.

it's also so interesting, that, with all this considered, ashe would connect "the monster" as being one in the same as dorothy. i mean... ashe didn't have any of this information, so he was just throwing out theories he thought might be plausible, so it doesn't really mean much, but it's very interesting. the are both the mansion's "monster" with the same motives. so connecting the two as one in the same... kind of makes sense. even though sirius had been offended by the notion (and understandably so), it's actually... really interesting that noel ended up doing a lot of the same things that dorothy did. i just think about that a lot.

now ray is my favourite character, hes my guy, hes my begrudging blurred reflection so its really hard to narrow down his moments to 5 because there are the times hes so cute and i smile when hes on my screen and the times he says things that were written to destroy me personally and times i want to strangle him for being a little bitch because i get it but also he is a little bitch. but anyway, maybe ill do a different one just for moments that destroyed me and focus on lighter ones here

ray was upfront about what the sandray dynamic would be from the beginning there was no pretending it would be anything else lmao. as an enjoyer of "fucked up character who thinks theyre unlovable meets character who is predestined to love and care for them in ways they couldn't imagine", i was immidiately hooked. like a goner. i knew at this moment they would destroy me and i was right. (also if this was a top sandray moments list that cigarette kiss would be number 1, i watched it 7 times in a row last night, altered my brain chemistry again)

the way he just stands there with his hands in the air smiling, fantastic. 10/10 little prince moment

She ends with Cut to the Feeling, one of the most joyous songs ever made! I am on a happiness high! Nothing can ruin my night!

And then I am sitting at the bus stop and I check tik tok and realize it was a full song! A full song about a long-distance relationship! And I start SOBBING!!!! Because guess what? That song is SAD!

So I go from absolutely forgetting every bad thing that had ever happened to me to full-on crying about a failed relationship I was still not over!!! In the middle of 5th Avenue, no less!!!!

Idk if you've heard the full thing, but it is DEPRESSING! It's basically the opposite of Francesca (or the "I'd do it all over again" motif) ! He literally sings "And there are some people, love, who are better unknown" like??? Imagine thinking you're better off never someone than knowing them at all! (which, I know is my interpretation, and I can very much be wrong but that's what it's giving to me!) I can imagine! I was still in that mindset! Especially since this one was about a long-distance relationship! It hit me too fucking hard!!! I have literally ignored every live performance I've come across of it on social media since because it makes me absolutely sob!!! I wish I was joking!

Anyway, a hilarious bookend to this: the day he announced in that Instagram Q&A the date Unknown was officially being released? Guess who I was seeing in concert that night? That's right! Carly Rae FUCKING Jepsen!!!!! *Insert the "If I had a nickel" meme here*

But yeah, he got the real long-distance thing down to a fucking t, especially with the second verse, "Funny how true colors shine in darkness and in secrecy. If there were scarlet flags, they washed out in thе mind of me" because yeah, you can forgive a lot of shit when the person isn't physically in front of you! Also, "Where a blinding light shonе on you every night Either side of my sleep" to me is just a fancy little way of saying face time/late night calls lol. (Again, I could be wrong, but still!)

But (I am sorry for repeating "But"... BUT!) he also confirmed it's from circle 9, which is treachery! Which... well I am not defining a successful relationship as treachery, I'm sorry! Judas is in that circle! And I did too many years in Catholic school to know what that guy fucking did!

Anyway, unlike me and my ex (and whoever the fuck Hoz is singing about, may they have their peace and never have to hear this one randomly in a store or some shit), Andrew and Lovely are definitely on better terms in my mind and are absolutely thriving <3 As I said before, love those crazy kids! They're in their own universe probably looking at rings as we speak! Or face-timing since he's out on the road! Good for them!

This is also not an insult to long-distance relationships in general. I loved that shit. It was wonderful! The guy, though? He sucks! And I am still doing some reflecting on that (which I am sure will continue once I force myself to listen to Unknown in a non tik tok way!)

Brothership posting: Heatfreeze Island and sidequests.

Sorry for the temporary hiatus; I had to watch WALL-E for a project in Astronomy class, and it took up the time I would normally spend playing Brothership.

- So, because of the whole Burnadette and Chilliam thing I maaaay have misread this island's name as "Heartfreeze Island" at first.

- As I've said before, there's nothing more Nintendo than a combined ice-fire area.

- Blah blah blah, competing villagers needing to get along, yadda yadda yadda, cliche cliche cliche.

- I made the mistake of poking (hammering, actually) one of those sleeping bear-armadillo things, and the only reason I survived the fight is that Mario and Luigi were both at full health and, powerful as it was, it couldn't quite do enough damage in one turn to K.O. anyone. So I blasted it with Bros. Attacks and it didn't get a second turn.

- Also, isn't it crazy how it got to attack first even though it was sleeping when we first-striked it?

- I have a feeling that the second statue's desire to see people, or at least thank the first statue, will eventually become a sidequest.

- For some reason, there's just this one part of the island's background music that makes "NO COMEBACK, THIS IS THE LAST TIME!" pop into my head every single time.

- On that note, I forgot to mention that part of the Color-full Sea Great Lighthouse Island's background music sounds like the chiming opening to "A Lotta Locomotion", so insert "if I had a nickel" meme here.

- Oh, and that reminds me of something I completely forgot to post about back when I just started playing- why is there a train whistle sound effect when the buds open after you connect an island?

- Now onto sidequests: When I did the Bulbfish Island one, I thought the answer to "what book is in the assistant's office" would be "his diary", so I didn't think to go back and check- and even if I had just in case, I didn't know you could interact with the bookshelves to look at the books within.

- As for Monster Mania 2: As soon as I heard that the empowered monsters were Hydro Seedles, I guessed that the gimmick would have to do with their healing, AND I WAS RIGHT.

- I thought the trick would be to kill them in one hit so they can't be healed, but they had high enough HP that I just couldn't manage to do that; after I eventually gave up, I found out that I wasn't actually able to beat them with my current abilities (if you knew that why did you still let me fight, Monster Maniac No. 2), and apparently there's some Battle Plug out there that prevents enemy heali-erm, "damage recovery".

BONUS: WALL-E thoughts

- So, as many other people have said, WALL-E is adorable, as is EVE.

- I knew a decent amount about the film beforehand from pop-culture osmosis, but I was NOT expecting EVE to be that trigger-happy.

- I love the detail of how every other robot WALL-E interacts with gains a bit of personality- M-O hops off the line for the first time in his life, that typer bot (which I thought was a sample-taker) learns to wave...

- Somehow, this even applies to Mary, a HUMAN, as when WALL-E shuts off her holoscreen she starts actually noticing the world around her.

- Also I love how the Axiom's garbage "dump" is infested with computer mice.

- The whole purpose of the assignment was to analyze the scientific accuracy of the film when it comes to astronomy, and I'm going to fill my submission with talk about common astronomy errors from cartoons that nobody actually seems to notice, stuff like:

- > Shots set in the Solar System with inexplicable eye-catching nebulae and such visible.

- > Stars "twinkling" by expanding into four-pointers and spinning around.

- > Stars twinkling (whether correctly or incorrectly) in shots set in space.

Ask: What direction do you see ruby and weiss's relationship taking after volume 9 depending on what happens in volume 9?

God I hope they head in the romantic direction they've been heading for seven years (volume seven is an outlier and will not be counted in the final tally) because according to recollections of how far Monty planned we don't got much charted territory left, besides, if these two don't make some progress when Ruby is at her lowest and needs Weiss, by Jove I'll eat my hat!

if i had a nickel for every time a member of team rwby picked up the weapon of their fallen friend with tears in their eyes to defend a redhead who ends up ultimately sacrificing themselves for the greater good anyways i’d have two nickles which isn’t a lot but its weird that it happened twice right

Anon Ask: I mean Nuts and Dolts may be gone but it still had moments actually interpretable as romance unlike Whiterose. The last two seasons of no development plus the VAs directly saying they don't see Whiterose happen canonically, did an irreparable damage to the likelyhood of the ship being a thing. I don't know what else has to be said to convince those few stubborn fans that Whiterose, while being a cute fanon concept, is probably never going to go beyond fanfiction, and baiting themselves will only result in more disappointment...i mean, it's kind of time to move on, and i say that as a former Whiterose fan.

Nuts and Dolts may be dead but Whiterose never even lived if you ask me personally...

If you sincerely think that Whiterose doesn't have any chance, and I don't mean to be rude here, you might not have been paying attention. Because these two are loud. They are absurdly loud in how in love they are and Volume 7 was a fluke. One dry season does not cancel out literal years of content! And you think that Nuts and Dolts had moments that felt romantic, and yeah they definitely had moments like that and it was very cute, but they had plenty of moments that were just as romantically inclined as Weiss and Ruby, albeit a lot fewer because Penny was, (is?) well, dead. There is a mountain of content I could post here but in the interest of not making this super long because I’m pretty busy rn with projects and this is cutting into my Tumblr time enough as it is...

Anon Ask: I don't mean this as a challenge in bad faith, but i am curious to see if you can bring something more to the discussion. As someone who doesn't see anything romantic or implied in ruby's and weiss' partnership, i am kind of curious. What are the canon big moments that are 100% undeniably romantic in your opinion, and that would otherwise be considered q-baiting? Canon show only (not extra source material which is not made directly by crwby). I often see the same bunch of users discuss what they think makes WR canon, but the only explainations that are provided are interpretations, more external stuff like comments from the VAs or a meme made by Monty, or just one-line scenes (like Weiss calling Ruby's name first in v6), which, quite frankly, are not objetive or uniquely romantic explainations.

So, taking out literally everything that isn't just plain canon RWBY moments. From Volumes 1 to 8, which of their moments would you consider "undeniably romantic"? If there are any yet in your opinion.

*cautiously looks over shoulder* hoo boy hope the toxic N&D folks and that one RG shipper have vacated the premises and aren’t lying in wait because I don’t want to do deal with that shit again but uhhhh here goes?

Okay, let me preface this by saying I’m gay myself, I have fallen in love with my best friend (at the times) twice with both going nowhere because i have the backbone of an eclair when it comes to talking to girls and that fact has definitely impacted how I see them over the years because hoooooo boy do I know what ‘I’m in love with my best friend and she means the world and more to me but also I’m absolutely terrified to act on what I’m feeling send help’ feels and looks like, I will also preface this with I know that any romantic interaction between girls can easily be misinterpreted as close friendship which is frustrating but if these things happened between two guys or a guy and gal, it would be 100% interpreted as romantic, so just keep in mind that their genders don’t impact my interpretation at all, while anyone else could interpret this as gals being pals. Also I’m skipping over moments here and there in the interest of not making this longer then it already is, fellow WR shippers I know I skip some moments but let it be known I didn’t forget them.
