Learn by Example (1 Corinthians 10:6-13)
Let angry people endure the backlash of their own anger; if you try to make it better, you’ll only make it worse. (Proverbs 19:19)
Now these things occurred as examples to keep us from setting our hearts on evil things as they did. Do not be idolaters, as some of them were; as it is written: “The people sat down to eat and drink and got up to indulge in revelry.” We should not commit sexual immorality, as some of them did—and in one day 23,000 of them died. We should not test Christ, as some of them did—and were killed by…

Brennan’s talked before about how as a poor young adult he lived in New York and struggled with food security. He tells a story of going to frozen yogurt places for free samples and a cheap dumpling spot because it was a lot of food.
His opinions on food and his described behaviours around food make a lot of sense in that context. He may be successful now and can be assured he can eat again when he’s hungry, but it appears he has legitimate trauma around his experiences with poverty because what he’s humorously describing is a trauma response. His mind hasn’t gotten rid of the anxiety of “I’m eating now so I better make it count because I don’t know when I will again.”
Because he’s a comedian he manages to frame it as a joke, but there’s certainly an underlying sadness. It also informs Evan Kelmp’s characterization. Capitalism is the root issue here and poverty is state-sanctioned economic abuse.
Anyway, I hope he’s doing well and taking care of himself.

This is correct. Anyone who thinks Musk is playing some 4D chess game to come out on top with his Twitter shenanigans is just buying into the myth that he’s a ‘genius.’
He’s just a dumb rich kid who had the basic business sense to throw a lot of money at people who actually do have ideas that he could take credit for, and hired a PR team to make him look clever and funny. Up until he fired that PR team around 2020 or so, because he genuinely thought that people actually liked him for who he was rather than the image that had been built around him.
Yes Elon is bad at running Twitter. It should be noted that he is more than likely intentionally tanking the value of Twitter, so he can declare bankruptcy. He must do this while looking like he's doing his best.
Remember, all this happened because he joked on Twitter about buying Twitter to temporarily spike his Twitter stock. This is blatantly insider trading, and the sort of thing the SEC loves punishing people for.
This put Elon in a tricky place. He could say he was joking, and risk getting investigated by the SEC. Or he could double down, and actually buy Twitter to prove he wasn't lying to boost his stock price. These were both horrible options for Elon. But being investigated by the SEC is the type of thing that rich people have nightmares about.
So he was forced to buy Twitter. He could not afford Twitter. So he was forced to engage in a leveraged buyout, meaning he had to pay a big chunk of the check in Tesla stock. This was a shit deal for Elon. Twitter was well known for essentially being at the peak of it's profitability, and the previous owners were looking for a nice exit. They were happy to sell the company to Elon for what was probably the highest price tag Twitter would ever have.
What this meant for Elon, was he had just used several billion dollars of his actually profitable company, and had to tie it's ankles to a company that would only drop in value. (and a company he had no idea how to run.) If Twitter drowns, Tesla does too.
His only way out is to tank Twitters value so the company can declare bankruptcy, sell off the assets, and stop bleeding money. But he can't LOOK like he's doing that ON PURPOSE for the same reason that he had to double down on buying Twitter in the first place: the SEC is very scary.

i actually think it’s so significant that disco elysium is named after an optional side quest. because the heart of the game is in the margins. same way you don’t get the real ending if you don’t do the (let’s face it, sometimes annoying and disincentivised) cryptozoologist quest line. you have to care about the world and its people, not just grinding through the mystery, to ever really understand anything. which is exactly what the game of suzerainty tells you IF you don’t try to “win”

Walter White so funny. He saw the most fuckable twink imaginable fall head over ass out a window in front of him and was like ohhhh I need to cook meth with him in a tiny enclosed space wearing nothing but my underwear. I need to growl his name and have him look up at me with blind devotion every day for the rest of my life until I die. For my family ofc bc I am a family man

idk if this was actually “intended” or not (who rlly cares) but i do love the fact that stan lies about his age.
his vague birth year, “i’m pushing seventy and i still eat ice cream for dinner,” it’s all such a performance and its so him.
like we KNOW you are not almost 70. your twin JUST got back from the multiverse and he is clearly in his early sixties 💀 just by nature of the birth range HE TOLD US stan can’t be almost 70. like 😭😭😭
ofc it’s sad tho too bc like…why does he feel the need to do that? to constantly undersell and self-deprecate? to compensate for some perceived inadequacy?
because the authentic version of himself has never been good enough, because he feels like he’s not worthy of the genuine connection he craves.
