I HAVE REALIZED SOMETHING.

So. For people who are not Ethoslab watchers, in his most recent episode he showed off these beautiful statues Joel supposedly made of Etho in front of his house.

I figured Joel built them, and it seems Etho did too, because he sent Joel a message via mail about them.

This note... honestly surprised me a bit? I didn't think much of it at first, but the tone of it felt out of place. Obviously these two have this ongoing bit of being obsessed with each other, and they've done nothing recently but yes-and to the sun about it. This note seems to almost shut this bit down, saying "this bit hasn't gone too far yet, because I'm showing this on camera, but it's getting there." Which is a possible explanation for this note! But considering all they've done recently it feels very sudden.

And then. Joel claimed to not have built the statues. "Oh," I thought. "Joel is claiming not to have built the statues because he doesn't want to seem obsessed." Makes sense. Or maybe he *didn't* build the statues and someone is pranking them. That also makes sense.

But it was only when watching Joel talk about it on Impulse's stream, when I heard Joel say "honestly, I think Etho might have done it," that it clicked.

Oh.

This motherfucker.

He 100% did. That's why the message is so weird. Ethoslab built statues of himself outside Joel's base, messaged him via mail saying "that's kinda weird bro" and then DIDN'T EVER REVEAL THAT HE BUILT THEM. Oh my god THIS MAN...

From Etho's audience's perspective it just looks like Joel was continuing being obsessed with Etho, as usual, just another example in a long list. But *Joel* knows he didn't do that and *Etho* knows Joel will figure out who did. This mischievous motherfucker. Oh my godddd I hate them. Listening to him read back the note with that little smile in his voice. I am unwell. Why are they LIKE this

God. I'm just thinking about how many times there were hints that we were supposed to see the glitches, that they were intended for the audience to see from the get go.

Like the mascot reacting to the glitch during Charlie's vivisection with a "What was that?" or how, after we learn that the fourth wall does not, in fact, exist; it called into question so many scenes where the cameras linger on what's going wrong. There was no effort to cover up the glitches, because they were supposed to happen in the first place. Hetch never stopped the cameras from seeing Ranboo watching the tapes. The cameraman never panned away from Sneeg having his slight panic attack when the veil lifted for him. It was all part of the entertainment, after all. We were *supposed* to know that something was wrong.

We were supposed to be scared. That was all part of the entertainment.

Not only is Generation Loss a horror series, so is whatever show Showfall is creating.

And it worked, didn't it?

re: your tags -- nah i'm not a proponent of Her Body Just Did That. at absolute most she could have been shoved down the stairs but that is still manslaughter at bare minimum; i highly doubt her death was a total accident, otherwise the investigation wouldn't be this emphasized in the plot and auxiliary materials.

FR okay thank you. Yes. Obviously Oopsie Daisy Theory is mostly just a joke but also it's sometimes not bc people come into chat who haven't read anything and are like "hot take. I think she just fell guys" and it's. Such an experience each time.

But anyways your post is an interesting concept! The only thing is that we... really have so little to go off of when it comes to the murder mystery. Someone could just say "oh I think it was vampires" and they'd not be any more wrong than anyone else because... there's nothing saying it *can't* be vampires, and there's basically nothing that indicates what we *should* be thinking. Hense why I usually focus on other areas of theory like the unlisted videos (they make me go crazy).

Either way it's fun to see what people are thinking in murder mystery land :)

AND YES I'M A LOATHING FAN AAA! That's crazy! Tiny niche fandom we got here but it's fun. I found it through a family friend who is one of the developers, actually!

Y'know has anyone thought of how Grian's "you will always kill who you love curse", although it hasn't, obviously, been fulfilled yet this season because nobody has permadied, is already becoming true again and again this session? Literally this entire episode was like. Nothing but him killing Joel and Jimmy again and again, by accident or mishap, but there is already so much blood on his hands. Something, something, cursed by fate but fate has had Enough. You're going to do it again this time, you're already doing it, did we not tell you hard enough the first three times?

Not to mention that Jimmy is on track of fulfilling *his* curse too, of course
