Cleaned scans because of a lucky coincidence between my scan day and the bundle-of-three upload plan I had for here on Tumblr! The latter two of these were sketched at work then more ink was added in at home later. Hence my art is taking a sort of urban-sketching flavor, hah.

Last time I hung at Vulpine, it was all old work and there wasn’t a single fox among them, so I’m glad I got to draw some for them this time.

July Sticker Club design

Inked snake, emulating the style of a tattoo design! A spider tailed horned viper, with its lure hiding amongst the pomegranates of their native Iran.

I used this design as an opportunity to test my new inking pen. Sketched the pose digitally, printed with photo blue on bristol paper, then inked traditionally.

Usually I use a fat Pentel Brush Pen, this time I used a Kuretake No. 13 Fountain Pen. The Kuretake is shorter and finer, which allows for a LOT more control than the Pentel. And is very good for small detailed work like this piece. I can get fat lines (like the dark areas of the snake) as well as thin delicate lines for the flowers.

Highly recommend this brush (NOT SPONSORED LOL [i wouldn't mind a sponsorship 😏])
