Man, I hate when trans people jump on the bandwagon to hate other trans people. Like, there’s this post that’s been going around criticizing the fetishization of trans women (which is 100% something we should talk about) but like, it aims the whole thing directly at transmascs. like hello??? yeah there definitely are some transmascs who fetishize trans women, but other people do too and I guarantee you transmascs are not the majority. Stop trying to make other trans people the scapegoat and put the blame where it belongs (on our inherently transphobic society).

Yeah, I know. I don't think it's a bad thing to have characters as plot devices, that's how shows work. (And also books, and movies, and any other type of story telling media.)

But Tommy I guess seemed like he could be more - or at least we in the fandom thought so, maybe because of Lou's cameos?

Lou was definitely doing a lot but you’re also not a fool for interpreting the narrative in a certain way or getting invested in a character. Yes he’s a plot device but that didn’t necessarily mean that he was going to be booted so suddenly. Taylor as a plot device lasted way longer and got a ton of screen time. Part of me saying the writing is bad is because the breakup did absolutely come out of left field — literally one episode ago Tommy was being portrayed as a steady presence in Buck’s life, someone who was part of “our people who make life worthwhile.”

This ask does also give me the chance to say the fandom infighting over all this has been fucking ridiculous. Buck coming out and having his first same sex relationship should’ve been a moment of joy but a large contingent of this fandom turned it into a months-long bitch fight over which two men should kiss. Y’all managed to make this about yourselves and ruin a deeply meaningful story arc (someone coming out later in life is rarely seen on tv, especially in a show with such a large mainstream fan base, and ESPECIALLY when it’s presented as a joyous realization with no angst or internalized homophobia to overcome). You can think that buddie makes narrative sense as I do without wishing death on Lou or bt fans, and you can enjoy bucktommy for what it was as I did without gleefully calling buddie fans worthless idiots or going after Ryan. Grow the fuck up.

Do you mean for the Greens alone? That's pretty much all I've been thinking about so I'm sorry if this isn't complete. I'm going to try and be optimistic so:

1. Aegon's Agony.

We'll see a more human side to Aegon through how he cherishes the safety of his children and Helaena. His relationship with them is a whole other matter (Aegon's not exactly the most emotionally mature person in the family) but I think he does value his children and views them as untainted, younger versions of himself. The violation of their innocence will utterly destroy him.

2. Aemond the Outcast.

Aemond will struggle to re-establish his place in the family. I think we'll get to sympathize with him even more because he was an unwilling Kinslayer, yet society will only imagine the worst of him and his family (probably Otto and Alicent) will doubt him. This will be a painful arc to watch and might explain much later why he transforms into his darker Harrenhal persona. I bet his love for his family will not waver, though. It's just that he'll doubt whether they truly see him the same.

I also expect that Aemond's jealousy for Aegon will persist. It won't go away immediately.

3. Helaena's Fate.

Helaena's arc will be a mirror of Alicent's in her young motherhood, although I doubt they'll be exactly similar. It's the differences between them I want to see. We've not been given a deep look into Helaena, but if I'm to go by s1 we could see her relationship with Alicent and Aegon expanded upon. After all, Alicent fixed Helaena's fate by not only giving birth to her, but by also marrying her to Aegon.

I also think Helaena's visions will ramp up as the war begins/progresses and might even contribute to her deteriorating mental health after the loss of Jaehaerys.

4. Daeron the Outsider.

Daeron will be charming and win many people over to the Greens. However, I suspect we will see some cracks on Daeron's sunny exterior. A darker side to him. Being sent away from his family must have affected him in a way. I think that he's the type to shamelessly express himself, whereas everyone else suppresses their feelings. He's a foreigner in his own family. So there could be conflict there if he brings up things no one wants to hear or outrightly say.

5. Alicent and Criston/ Greens infighting.

There could be friction between Otto and Alicent. And as a result Criston and Gwayne might not get along. Gwayne and Otto want charge over Alicent and Aegon, but Alicent wants Aegon for herself and under Criston's supervision. Aegon will beef with Otto to no end. Alicent and Criston will draw closer.

5. Larys the Schemer.

Larys will switch targets from Alicent to Aegon but I don't know what Aegon will make of him. TGC has said that Aegon can be very perceptive, so we'll just have to see how he'll trust or doubt Larys' motives. A also think the Clubfoot will have his sight set on Aemond during his regency. Where power goes, he follows.

6. Vhagar, Dreamfyre and Sunfyre.

The Greens dragon bonds will be explored and I'm thinking post Shipbreaker's Bay with Aemond and Vhagar and then the funeral of Jaehaerys with Dreamfyre and Sunfyre.

7. Alys' Motives.

Alys won't be loyal to anyone. She will dance with dragons for her own benefit. However, a more emotional side to her will be revealed through her relationship with House Strong, who see her as an outcast and worthless. I think their treatment of her will play a big role in her personal ambitions.

The thing about the Oropher & Cloudryad, Thranduil, Lasgen line up is that there isn’t even 50 between Oropher/Cloudryad and Lasgen, despite them being grandchild and grandparents respectively.

And that’d be fine if they were humans, but these are elves. 50 years becomes essentially worthless really fast.

Oropher and Cloudryad awoke 10 years before they had Thranduil and Miriel, and Thranduil had Lasgen when he was 38.

So the dynamic is rather interesting despite them being 3 generations.

In addition to the traditional parent/child dynamic, there’s also a strong friend/mutual respect as individuals happening between the 4 of them.

Bc in truth, no one can really pull seniority over each other, because there essentially is none. As a result, neither Oropher, Cloudryad, nor Thranduil weaponize “i am your father/mother” between them. Granted they don’t do it in general even with Lasgen’s siblings, but it’s especially notable between these 4.

Like with Lasgen’s siblings (Lirion, Kleoyia, and Legolas) there’s still over 4000 years between them and the 4, and that’s enough time to genuinely say “hey, i have more experience with xyz, so please listen to me”.

Furthermore, the dynamic between Lasgen, Lirion, Kleoyia, and Legolas is also rather interesting, because it’s a wierd mix between “x is significantly older than me, so i should listen to them” and “age doesn’t impact the dynamic at all”.

Lasgen was born at Lake cuivinen, Lirion was born somewhere around the time the 1st age became the 2nd age, Kleoyia was born a millenia after that, and Legolas was born a millenia after that.

So with at least a millenia between each sibling, there is a genuine experience gap between them. And it also means that each elf got “baby sibling/only sibling” treatment for a significant amount of time before the next sibling came.

And you’d think that, with all the older siblings being well into adulthood it’d mean that they aren’t close due to the age gap.

But that’s not what happened at all.

See, while they know and acknowledge where they stand in terms of experience, it doesn’t really impact or influence their dynamic.

Like yes, Legolas is the baby sibling, but that’s not his role in the dynamic of the 4. And Lasgen’s the eldest, but that isn’t why she’s in charge (she’s in charge bc she does not let anyone tell her what to do, it’s personality trait).

And to be fair, all 4 of them do not like being told what to do, regardless of who it is. So the dynamic between them can’t be related to “rank” or any such concepts, because that’ll just cause infighting.

Instead the dynamic is much closer to what you will find in close friends, though with extra platonic love in there.

It also helps that none of the 4 believe in the notion that “you’re too old to be doing something”. So none of them feel belittled when a sibling that’s younger than them asks them to help with something you can only get better at through experience.

Also, chaos in general is pretty standard at their home bc how else would they stay sane after thousands of years, so if they want to make a mold of their foot and poor melted candy into it to make a candy foot, you can’t stop them.

I’m so sick and tired of how people treat trans guys. Just guys in general.

I have a classmate who, when I first met them, was still closeted so a gay “guy” (they’re nonbinary). I was out as transmasc, still nervous about it. They hadn’t known very many trans people, but they did really well about it. We chatted occasionally, they apologized and corrected whenever they misgendered me, they put effort into not calling me ‘girl’ bc it was a filler word for them like how I use dude, gushed over my top surgery. Early on it was a lot of “ohymgosh I’m soo sorry I don’t want to offend you!!” And me going “nbd, it takes a bit to get used to! Thanks for putting effort into it :)”

And then they came out as non-binary. I was really happy for them at first, but the way they act towards me (and honestly also everyone else) has just.... gotten so much worse since then. They call people - people they’ve been friends with!! Other trans people!! - transphobic for accidentally misgendering them even when the person immediately apologizes and corrects themselves. Like I totally get being sensitive about it, but when you’ve been out for less than a month.... there’s an adjustment period. It sucks, I know, but they’re not doing it on purpose. One time I disagreed with them, I don’t even remember what it was over, it didn’t even have anything to do with gender, and they got huffy and said “I’ll post on Twitter that you’re nonbinaryphobic!” Like???? My good person I am Also Non-binary. And they always pass these things off as jokes when people call them out but like. It’s really obvious that they’re not.

Even worse, they’ve completely fallen down the “kam” hole. They talk about how “all men are shit/need to die” just.... in front of everybody!! They’ll say it straight to the faces of the guys in the department, especially the ones they know won’t say shit back. They’ve been particularly targeting one of the freshmen (a cishet guy) they’re constantly saying shit about him being “stupid worthless man” and even called him a faggot???? Like Hello what the Actual Fuck do you think you’re doing????? They’ve said shit like that to him and one of my best friends, both cishet guys, both some of the most respectful people about me being trans that I’ve ever met. It makes me so furious that I start physically shaking.

And on top of all that, whenever I try to steer the conversation or defend the guys, they start talking shit to me too. It got to the point they looked me dead in the eye and said “all men should die, and you’re a shitty man too.” Which is especially fucked because I’m not!!! Even a man!!!! And they know that!!! But transmasc is close enough to tell me to die with the rest of the men, I guess. It was such a slap in the face that I couldn’t even respond, I stare. But they went on later, chatting and acting friendly as if they hadn’t told me straight to my face they think I should be dead.

We’re going on a school trip soon, and I got roomed with them, presumably because we’re the only two trans people going. Just thinking about it makes me so nauseous, I’ve already had a panic attack over being alone with them for that much time. But I don’t feel like I can intrude on asking to switch with anybody, because I’m trans and I could make them uncomfortable. and I just can’t make myself prioritize my comfort over others. Anybody else who rooms with them will get shit too, and as another trans person, I can defend myself against the bullshit they say better because it’s all amateur radfem-lite rhetoric. And I‘m probably the only other student who knows enough about queer theory and infighting to fire back. So i guess I’m just.... the sturdiest punching bag. After everything they said about being excited to talk to me about being trans!!! After all the effort I’ve put into being the first to come out in the department and help my professors and peers not be uncomfortable and tip-toe around me being trans!!!! I feel angry and betrayed and sad and scared and it’s so, so fucked up. I can tell they’re doing this because they’re scared and angry but it’s making things so much worse. And now I’m stuck playing both damage control and emotional meatshield. I hate this, but I can’t stand by and just watch either. I’m so tired.

Some time ago, I got tired of seeing the controversy if Mortimer's Handeemen puppets were "related" to each other. So I made a tweet question to see if Andrew Allen ever responds to it. Lord and Behold, he does! Long story short from Andrew, the Handeemen puppets are not related to each other. The long story is me picking through each detail Andrew can reveal without spoiling what might go down in the next game when we get it someday (cross fingers!). Before I begin, the question I tweeted is in the link below to read through it. SPOILERS to Hello Puppets: Midnight Show Also Below!!!

I started off by asking the question listed in the link with Andrew answering later that night in separate parts. Andrew clearly knows what is going on. He uses the biggest of the controversies that have been widely argued and questioned, Nick Nack's crush, quoted below in parts one and two.

Puppets cannot technically be biological siblings. What does “related” mean for beings that don’t reproduce, don’t have DNA, etc? I think the question behind the question here is: “are Nick’s feelings for Riley familial attraction?” I know some people don’t like that Riley and Nick see each other in a way that is like human siblings. So what he feels is wrong. The story in no way condones Nick’s feelings for her, they’re treated as inappropriate. But are the Handeemen a real family in any way? Or are they a cult?

Andrew states the puppets are not siblings, cannot "be biological siblings", and cannot reproduce in the game canon. In the original show, Owen wanted the Handeemen to feel like a stereotypical nuclear family, the parents, in this case, the father and mother, and the siblings, the sister and brother. Riley and Nick were supposed to be like the rival infighting siblings that tolerate each other occasionally. Unfortunately for Owen, not all the traits he imagined didn't transition through into the puppets. Mortimer Handee the best example of going from the perfect father figure to a toxic cult leader. In Nick's case, it's actually interesting that Andrew agrees what Nick is feeling is wrong and that what he's doing can get him in trouble with HR in the workplace in the modern world, but the story itself doesn't condone Nick. But still, you can get into trouble at work making a painting seen in the VHS tapes like Nick did with a coworker who views you like a sibling. Or in a case where a sibling thinking about another sibling that way has very extreme consequences that can lead to jail. With that, it leads to what I can describe from what Andrew might say in a Shakespeare tragedy "Family or cult? That is the question."

Mortimer wants them to think they’re a family. But the Handeemen are starting to question that. Daisy and Riley discover a friendship that is healthy. Nick, because he has a deep self-loathing, lashes out at Daisy and Riley in unhealthy ways. He has let Mortimer’s voice get in his head and tell him he’s worthless. If we get a chance to tell more of the story, I think a question I want to tackle is this: can these puppets become a REAL family, not just drones for an abusive tyrant? I have an idea the answer.

Andrew finishes off in parts three and four saying Mortimer wants to carry on the trait of that stereotypical family dynamic Owen envisioned. However, cracks were forming. Daisy and Riley slowly become best friends, but Nick is mentally suffering from Mortimer's abuse, just like Owen did from his father, that Nick takes it out on Daisy and Riley, the same way Owen did on his coworkers. So now it leads to Andrew's final question, "Can these puppets become a REAL family, not just drones for an abusive tyrant?" My answer is that Riley, Nick, Daisy, and the other puppets in the studio came close to realizing that this found family that imitates a nuclear family was toxic. Sadly, Mortimer, being the toxic cult leader he is, was way ahead of everyone to turn it into a big NO. Mortimer collected blackmail on everyone to outsmart them and keep his control for the moment. Unless it unravels in the next game.

Clearly, Andrew cannot reveal much information about spoiler reasons for the next game. Like I said in my last post, I believe the next game in the series will focus on what found family is and what makes one healthy or toxic. The Handeemen versus what I believe will be Vox Veritas. Mortimer tries to make every puppet have some family-like structure versus Vox Veritas being friends helping and supporting each other with some imperfections because THIS IS NOT GOING TO END WELL! We all know Anthony Pierson’s fate in the first game! The Hello Puppets series is a tragedy after all. At the end of the day, incestuous relationships in bloodlines and adoptions should not be normalized in society. If anyone who reads this sees something like this in real life, you got the right to report it, rat out the guilty, and help the victims. Which is sadly common in cults nowadays. In the game, what Mortimer has set up in his cult is also messed up. I won't be surprised if it all comes crumbling down on him down the road through Anthony, or a certain blue hair puppet with her Host throwing a wrench into everything. I saw someone saying that Sansa is the only one learning about politics and how to rule and it's so hard to take her stans seriously. They already have a habit of inflating the skills Sansa has learned, but insisting she's the only one learning them is a new low. If we're being accurate to canon Sansa hasn't learned as much as they claim and is only just beginning to learn the game. This isn't like the show where Sansa just gets smarter from being around smarter characters

Agree, except for that last bit. Show Sansa did not get smarter from being around smarter characters. The smarter characters around her just became more and more progressively stupid and had their skillsets taken away from them when sharing scenes with her. Never forget how Daenerys who has commanded armies for 6 seasons suddenly needed lectures from Sansa on how her men needed rest 😂😂😂. D&D don't know good writing if it hits them on the face and they couldn't write smart characters if their life depended on it.

I honestly can't think of one smart decision show Sansa makes.

LF convinces her to marry Ramsay Bolton. Theon helps her escape. She then starts lying to Jon Snow because LF reminds her that Jon is only her half brother - despite Jon only ever trying to help her and who has never done her any harm. She thinks the Karstarks will help them - Davos, a southerner, has to remind her of what Robb did and that the Karstarks will side with the Boltons. She can't convince any of the Northern houses to join with the Starks against the Boltons - Davos gets the Mormonts, Jon gets the Freefolk and Sansa gets nothing. It's LF who rallies the knights of the Vale to fight for Sansa, not Sansa herself - all she does is write a letter accepting LF's help. She then proceeds to keep it secret and allows thousands of Northmen and Freefolk to needlessly die because she buys into LF's manipulations.

She wants to punish the Karstark and Umber children and Jon disagrees. In season 8 we see that Jon is actually right because the houses that Sansa supported like the Glovers run off and don't offer any help. It's the Umbers and Karstarks who fight with them. She sides with the other houses against Jon and tells him he should not go south to ask for help. If it had not been for Dany and her dragons, the North would have been overrun eventually by the Night King and the Army of the Dead. She had no solutions on how to fight the Night King, just kept objecting to every idea Jon came up with.

When Jon's gone south, she starts instigating the other houses to support her instead of Jon, encouraging infighting at a time when unity is most needed. She is jealous of Brienne and Arya bonding and sends Brienne south. Despite knowing LF for like 7 seasons she gets manipulated by him into nearly killing her own sister Arya. And only stops at the end because Bran steps in and explains to her what LF has been upto.

When Dany - the most powerful leader in the 7K at that point - gets North with her armies and dragons to help them, she starts unnecessarily antagonizing her. She's snide, she's rude, she accuses Jon of being emotional when he's trying to save the North. She promises in front of the Old Gods to Jon about keeping his secret and then runs off and babbles to Tyrion, once again igniting treachery and infighting when they are going to fight against Cersei - who should have been Sansa's number one enemy and antagonist, but for some reason Sansa hates Daenerys more despite Dany saving her worthless ass.

And after all this, after being the most useless and one of the stupidest characters in the series, having done nothing except whine and complain about what others are doing, ask people to bring their grain to WF and write LF a letter, she gets rewarded at the end by the North alone getting independence when a Stark is King on the Iron Throne 😂

The only reason she survived till the end is because of plot armor. The only reason she's seen as smart is because other characters - like Tyrion and Arya - are given dialogue where they call her smart. I mean, just think how ridiculous it is that Sansa spends an entire season being suspicious of Arya and actually tries to off her and at the end of this Arya's conclusion is that Sansa is the smartest person she knows 😂😂😂😂😂. It was a comedy show at that point!

I think trans infighting in particular about who is ruining the movement, who is responsible for the genocide, who is the most oppressed in the contest or whatever etc really can just be boiled down to like. The leader of the Yapathian Horde managed to conquer a small pocket of space before succumbing to the ravages of age, and after a short period of infighting a successor emerged whose agenda focused on maintaining those borders and building a solid infrastructure rather than rapid conquest, and so it seemed the threat was over for a while.

At this point the galaxy had been almost wholly subjugated between two major powers: the Oxanalytoran Alliance, a militantly evangelist republic, had vassalized almost the whole of the galactic west, and stood as the galaxy's primary diplomatic power, while the hegemonic Rak'Thalak'Nak Imperium and its subjects held approximately two thirds of the galactic east, as well as the loyalty of the powerful Empire of Plumbia in the south-west. The Combined Halfliferan Stars and their federation still clung on to their independent territories as best they could, but the once-great Uriy Mandate had lost the vast majority of their space to the formidable warriors of the Lozavatan Imperium and its vassals; those groups between them held the remainder of the east, leaving the Kodranitan Accepted Mark as the only independent power worth considering in the galaxy.

The Kodranitan commanders were considering various plans for their next battles, making preliminary plans for incursions into Halfliferan space, when they received a most unexpected transmission: their western neighbours, grovelling pacifists known as the Pictling Tranquil Compact whom the Oxanalytoran conquered while the Kodranitan were otherwise occupied, made a secret pledge of fealty to the Accepted Mark. A similar message had been received some time ago from an inconsequential enclave calling themselves the Sacred Mollarnock Confederacy, but it seemed worthless in comparison to the military investment required to enable it; now, however, going to war with the west would be far easier and net them far greater gains.

Plans for the Halfliferan federation were scrapped, and the admirals readied themselves for a challenge.

I suppose that if I’m going to continue interacting with fellow feminists on this site, I ought to make a post detailing my beliefs since so many seem so utterly determined to misinterpret or just plain make things up based on practically zero information.

I had really been hoping for connection and conversation and open discussions. Instead all I see are women being shouted down by other women for having different lived experiences or making different lifestyle choices.

Women are not a monolith. Feminists are not a monolith. Even amongst my closest feminist friends, we disagree on many things, but we continue to uplift and support one another because we recognize that womanhood contains multitudes and that our goal as feminists is the liberation of ALL of us, regardless of personal individual opinions.

But here? On this hellsite? Unless you *PRECISELY* agree with someone’s every last single detailed belief, down to which way to hang the toilet paper roll, your opinion is worthless and you have no brain because you DARE to formulate an opinion that does not match my own!!!

I ask you, where is that supposed to get us? What is that supposed to achieve?

I have stood shoulder to shoulder with women with whom I share literally NOTHING in common aside from being a woman, and I have shouted for our rights and liberation right alongside them. Why is this so hard to understand?

Diversity is valuable. Talking to people with opinions that differ from yours helps you challenge your beliefs and grow more strong in your ability to defend your stance. Only surrounding yourself with sycophants and yes-women makes you weak. If everyone around you agrees wholeheartedly with you, no question, then you get blindsided by someone simply being like “Nope. I don’t agree with that.”

Anyway.

Challenge yourself. Talk to women who you wouldn’t normally. Talk to women with different lived experiences. Talk to women making lifestyle choices for themselves that you would never make in a million years. TALK TO WOMEN. Grow your mind, expand the boundaries of your way of thinking, challenge yourself, get outside your comfort zone and echo chamber. Real growth and progress doesn’t occur in places of comfort; challenging and pushing yourself to understand, that’s where growth happens.

Take this old ladies advice or don’t. Keep infighting until you tear the entire movement apart from the inside, I’m sure the men appreciate y’all doing their work for them. I’m tired. I’m fine with disagreeing with someone but my god, I’m TIRED of the vitriol that some women seem to feel is necessary when they don’t agree with someone. Fuck. Just say you don’t agree and explain yourself and open up a dialogue. But for the love of feminism, stop calling each other brain dead or brain rotted simply because another woman dared make a choice you don’t like.

I have enjoyed my interactions with several of you, and most of you are just wonderful. But the angry vocal minority is just too much. It’s poison. And I’m too old and too experienced to sit here in a pool of poison and allow my love for feminism and women and my dream of their complete liberation to be slowly ripped to shreds by women who don’t know how to treat other women.
