I don’t, no. Mainly because he’s already in the Aligned universe and I like him as is. But I did make two designs of him back in 2022, one that’s more inspired by MTMTE Deadlock (and meant to be his own separate character) and another that’s meant to be Pre-RiD15 Drift/ Deadlock.

But who knows? If enough people want me to, I can work on these again.

You catch him looking at you. You’re too fast for the slightly dazed prince and he doesn’t avert his gaze quickly enough when you turn from drinking in the sight of the ocean to glance at the man standing behind you, the one whose eyes you were just comparing to the churning waves in front of you. His cheeks imitate the blushing sky, his jawline tightening as his teeth clench in annoyance. You shouldn’t have caught him looking at you like you are more magnificent than the ocean at sunset. 

Something about his embarrassment sets off sparks inside you, jumpstarts your body into turning completely and walking toward him. He stubbornly continues to examine the wet sand, the white foam as it caresses his bare feet, anything but you. But you won’t allow it. You walk right up to him, wrapping your arms around his waist and press yourself against him, burying your face in the soft silk of his shirt. Of course he’s wearing expensive silk for a walk along the beach. He doesn’t know what to do with his arms and you can feel the tension in his abdomen as he takes a step back. You step right where he had been standing, clinging to him like a barnacle to the bottom of a boat. You are not letting go.

He sighs, his chest rising and falling, the white flag of defeat in the movement. His arms finally settle around you, returning your embrace, pulling you even tighter against him. The ocean is cool around your feet but everywhere your bodies touch is warm. Your chest presses into his, your hips to his, your arms locked around his midsection. And then when you lift your face, your eyes bright with affection, they lock with his. It’s too much for Silvio, this naked tenderness in your face. He leans down, pressing his mouth to yours, closing his eyes tightly.

If he thought that would help, he was mistaken. Because now he doesn’t just see the emotion in your eyes, he feels it. He’s drowning in the love he tastes in the slow, deliberate movement of your lips under his. The heat of your mouth when you let him in, giving him full permission to plunder like the pirate he is. The way your hands are curling into that expensive silk, nails digging in as you fight the urge to rip it away from his skin.

You whimper, soft and low, a voiced sound that sends a jolt of electricity through his body. His strong hands slide down your back, then slide lower, coaxing more out of you because he can. Past the point of awkwardness, he fills his senses with you. The rush of the ocean is nothing compared to the roaring of want in his ears. The cold water is a distant memory compared to the inferno in his arms. The dazzling sunset of pink and gold pales in comparison to the light he saw in your eyes. 

Silvio knows the value of things and right now as he swallows your sighs and you drink in his kisses, wrapped in each other’s arms and painted in sunset’s gold, your inhibitions scattered to the ocean’s breeze, he knows this is worth more to him than any coin, bank note or jewel ever could be.

I feel like Astoria X Powerglide get too much hate in the fandom, personally they grew on me. They are rather cute plus I always thought Powerglide were just besties with Moonracer (she is a fun character to play with, I ship her with Perceptor 😅). Same with Inferno and Firestar, they both seem more like best friends who didn’t see each other, for obvious reasons, for a long time. Plus I see more romantic chemistry between Inferno and Red Alert, lol. Or all three can ot3.

For what I've seen, hate isn't quite the right word, but there's always some sort of commentary about him cheating on Moonracer. Which I very agree with your takes on her relationship with Powerglide and Firestar's relationship with Inferno. It was all very good buddy type behavior.

(The way Ironhide says Chromia's name, on the other hand, is pretty convincing.)

Perceptor and Moonracer? Huh! Well, I like the Ultra Magnus/Nightbeat ship, so we all have our rarepairs.

Yes! Look, I know he's an annoying dork but have you considered that I too am annoying and I too am a dork?

5 good qualities:

He's smart. Smarter than people assume because he's always saying the dumbest things

He's kind.

He's creative, he makes sculptures and they're really good. He's an artist.

Connected to the previous one but he is just absurdly talented with his powers.

He's brave. Granted he is nearly impossible to kill so he doesn't risk a lot that often, but he's courageous as hell.

3 bad qualities:

His jokes suck and his fashion sense is terrible.

He shoots himself in the foot a whole bunch.

He's presumably a not great boyfriend...? Like, all his relationships fall apart and its not just the straight ones. Also he's lonely, almost always single and he HATES it. So what's going on there? By all accounts, he's a catch: he's nice, got broad interests, he's got money and he's hot - it's very clear that in universe he's supposed to be very attractive. So what gives? I think he's maybe just not all that much fun to be in a relationship with, probably because he's rarely that genuine with anybody.

favourite episode/etc:

I really love his storyline in the 90s with Emma taking over his body and the fall out from that. It's the one with the very blatant subtext that falls just short of saying he's gay because they weren't allowed at the time. Also it dives into his relationship with his dad which I find genuinely really upsetting. I also genuinely loved his 2017 and 2018 solo series.

I like the Amazing Friends (Firestar & Spiderman), and his friendships with the O5, Kitty and Rogue. I also really like him with Bishop and I wished we'd got more of that in Marauders (although that one could easily not be platonic.. that said I feel like he's a bit too nerdy to be Bishop's type, but then again he's probably chaotic enough... who knows?).

I actually did write him, St. John and Shinobi as having had a (non-explicit) threesome for some unknown reason...? It made sense at the time, and Bobby and Shinobi still had their situationships with Christian going on in that fic. Just one big poly disaster.

I think he's not particularly religious in terms of his actual beliefs and associates conversation about religion with his very conservative parents (his dad is Catholic and his mum is Jewish) so prefers to avoid the discussion. That said, I think he's really into family traditions and that sort of thing. He still does all the holidays with enthusiasm... probably too much enthusiasm

He has being paying very little attention to any of the big events on krakoa (ToM, Inferno). Like, he's a few days out of the loop on events and isn't entirely sure what's going on but assumes they'll sort it out. I think he likes a lot of things about the island and the people there, but I don't think he's bought into it really. It's just another wacky stage of his life for him

He's often genuinely surprised by how alive his ice golems are and is secretly a bit freaked out by it

Despite being a teenager in the 60s, Bobby is clearly still under 35. With that in mind, I headcanon his music tastes as being very 80s and early 90s. There's a lot of synth pop in there, and I feel like he got really into Alanis Morissette.

New Mutants Volume 1 Reading Order

With the X-Men’s success Marvel editorial demanded the brand be expanded into more titles. Claremont, after fighting this as long as he could, made the compromise to do one, but his way. The result was New Mutants. This focuses on a diverse group of teen (13-19) outcasts, most having nowhere else to go, joining the school to get a handle on their powers. The goal was not for them to be a backup team or the next generation of the X-Men, but for Professor X to return to his base goal of a safe space for raising mutants. This is also where the Hellfire Club, particularly Emma Frost, and their inner workings are more fully explored, largely because they have a rival group of young mutants called Hellions that mirror the NM. While I wrote lists for other X-Men runs, each is supposed to function by itself rather than part of some master list. I’m sure you could piece them together easily enough if you wanted, but this is made with the mindset of someone only reading NM. Bold=important parts of the main story Italics=optional (with explanations)

Marvel Team-Up (V1) 100 — The first appearance of Xi'an Coy Manh, also known as Karma, which leads into 165 and then the GN.

I just love how much of the 80s was just Shaw not having any idea what the FUCK just happened and/or just trying to avoid the fuckery happening around him in the Hellfire Club.

Like, literally one day this member comes in like hey I’m sponsoring this new lady here, her name is Selene, she’ll be our Black Queen, and Sebastian is like yeah that’s not how this works you don’t just get to be Black Queen and Selene responds by just trying to MURDER HIM ON THE SPOT by bringing the floor to life and crushing him. He manages to break free but by his own admission, she nearly succeeds. Shaw is SCARED AS FUCK of Selene after that, he acts cool around her but his thought balloons reveal he’s ON HIS TOES 24/7 as he should be And this SAME DAY, like probably within FUCKING HOURS of this random woman nearly killing him out of the goddamn blue, Rachel Summers and Magma start FUCKING SHIT UP at the Club bigtime because they have beef with Selene and have tracked her here, like there’s lava and earthquakes and telekinesis and the place is just COMING DOWN and Shaw is like hey what the actual fuck is happening here because he has no idea WHAT this is about And then the X-Men BURST THROUGH THE GODDAMN WALL RIGHT NEXT TO HIM because they’re here to save Rachel and Amara and they start threatening Shaw and he’s like LISTEN THIS WAS NOT MY GODDAMN IDEA And it gets sorted out and they all go home and Shaw is just left with this MASSIVE EXPENSIVE PROPERTY DAMAGE MESS And then Emma gets it in her head to kill Selene. I do not recall if there was a reason or not? Like I don’t think Selene ever made a move against Emma, she was too busy messing with Shaw who NEVER MAKES A MOVE BACK AGAINST HER LOL but I guess Emma saw Selene as a threat to her, which Shaw was not (there is a 2000s retcon of Shaw having been Emma’s abusive lover/mentor but that was written like...twenty years after this, they’re originally just equal partners working together because they just had similar goals at the time and I really prefer it that way)   So Emma starts training this teen girl Firestar as an asassin who is gonna kill Selene for her and Shaw is just like, cool, awesome Then like next thing he knows, EMMA’S SCHOOL BLOWS UP because Firestar realized she was being used and DID NOT LIKE IT and it’s the middle of winter so poor Emma is out there huddled under a blanket and Shaw brings her some coffee (which is just inexplicably hilarious to me, it’s just such an odd image) and Emma is like “look she made me promise not to go after her but YOU CAN” and he’s like oh my god Emma I’m not doing that like he just wants NO PART IN THIS even though taking out Selene would be GREAT for him, like his just knows not to get involved in anything between these Queens or with redheads who blow up buildings LIKE HE CLEARLY REMEMBERS WHAT HAPPENED WITH THAT LAST TIME And finally, Inferno happens. The entire CITY gets infected with demonic energy, resulting in inanimate objects coming to life and becoming monsters. Like there’s this truly HORRIFIC scene of an elevator EATING PEOPLE that has NEVER LEFT ME. The Hellfire Club is affected and endangered by this as much as anyone else, and they end up having to fight for their lives against attacking demons. And of course yet again Shaw has NO IDEA what the fuck is happening but he’s decided who to blame---MAGNETO! Like Shaw never messed with Selene or Emma in the Hellfire Club but BOY DID HE FUCKING HAVE A HATE-ON FOR MAGNETO and honestly I think it’s because Magneto is the only one he DARED mess with (or...roll around shirtless with, that was a thing) So he’s just on top of a Manhattan skyscraper, PUNCHING DEMONS IN THE FACE while saying this is MAGNETO’S FAULT because clearly Magneto must have lost control of Illyana (Shaw, honey, Magneto never controlled Illyana) Just Punching demons and blaming Magneto I love it so much. (You could ALMOST feel sorry for him if he were not SEBASTIAN SHAW. As it is, he had all this coming and honestly it was HILARIOUS like everything is just CONSTANTLY NUTS around him and it’s great)

Why X-men annoy me

Good news is that Sooraya Quadir is joining the Champions so she won’t be fridged like Loa and Blindspot were. Bad news is well...

This is why the X-men annoy me so damn much. Without the panels, the image of a mob terrorizing a Sunni Muslim Afghan girl is enough context provided of what the scene represents. The actual reason why they are swarming her is that she is standing up for a statue commemorating 5 cis white people, one of which was retroactively confirmed as gay. And again, “mutantphobia” takes place and represents metaphorically actual oppression.

“Uncover your face” you yell at the girl wearing a niquab because she is a mutant.

And again, there is this narrative inconsistency when dealing with the X-Men and the rest of the Marvel universe. In one story, Human Torch can be celebrated and in an X-men story, Firestar or Inferno are hated.

They have the same exact fucking powers.

Someone tried to say that this is because bigotry in of itself is irrational which I called bullshit on. When an Islamophobe berated a man for wearing a head wrap while playing basketball, he assumed that he was Muslim and it turned out that he was Silkh. They didn’t care about the difference other than he was the other. Racism, homophobia, and islamophobia are very rational as to why like that.

The metaphor falls apart when there are people with abilities all over but you decide to hate a subset of people because they are born with them over those who gained them. As if that would make a fucking difference. It doesn’t.

You hate people with superpowers or you don’t. And really, there shouldn’t be this pseudo meta among the Marvel universe that tries to differentiate mutants from everyone else that is superpowered because both stoke the same level of resentment. And oppression of people who have superpowers is really fucking annoying especially if it’s used to be the catch all narrative metaphor of actual oppression.

He approaches, a predator with eyes that glitter as it weaves its way through dark foliage. You know better than to look directly into the sun, but you can't help but stare into those golden eyes when he reaches you. There is nothing but intent burning in them, bright as Bengal fire. They roam your face as his gloved hands slide up your shoulders. Possessive. Confident. In total control. One hand snakes its way around the back of your neck, pulling you closer. The other finds long locks of your hair and winds them around his fingers. 

Your name is a sound born of hunger, a low growl in the back of his throat that sends a shiver rolling through your body like thunder. He pulls your head upwards with the slightest tug. You allow your body to bend like a willow reed, your face tilted up towards his, eager and already breathless at the promise written in the sharp curve of his smile.

There is no warning. No gentle drops of rain or light snowfall. There is only the storm as it descends and claims you. His grip on you tightens while his mouth opens, ready and ravenous. There is barely time to breathe, barely time to respond as he sets out to devour you. His kiss is comprised of lips and teeth and tongue, voracious and unyielding. Every movement of his mouth sets another fire and sends it burning through your veins, as if they were filled with ether instead of blood. You can only hold on, your hands gripping the strong muscles of his upper arms, a lifeline in the face of raging winds and an inferno of want.

He breaks away from your mouth, licking his lips, his breath hot and ragged. His eyes are a turbulent, golden blaze, restless as he looks for the next place to feast. His hand leaves your neck to push up into your hair, freeing strands from their prison of ribbons and pins. Then he bends his tall body down, his mouth finding the sensitive slope of your neck, staking a claim there. Sharp teeth scrape over your skin, a hot mouth sucks hard and you are spinning, a wild cyclone of blistering desire let loose within the strong confines of his arms. You hardly recognize the sounds leaving your lips, whimpers and gasps and the drumbeat of his name, over and over, like a blacksmith’s forging hammer striking an anvil. 

This is no gentleman. He would tear the clothes from your body here and now. He would ravage you until there was nothing left but smoldering ashes. And you would let him. You would let him again and again and again.

It is only the sound of voices, those cold, sobering reminders of other people, that stays his hands. That lifts his covetous mouth from your feverish skin. His chest rises and falls, heavy with frustration. 

He reaches up, soothes his thumb over your red lips, lips that tremble from the wreckage of his passion.

Soon, that touch declares. Soon.
