ONE. Eden vs. Viorel

Honestly, I know this is literally a different boss fight's theme, but it gives me such Eden vibes. The interpolation of Calamari Inkantation at the end just makes it work. Specifically, it makes me think of the Fuzzy AU boss fight, and when that bit fades in, it's when Eden finally gets Vio's goggles off. ( Also could work like an in-universe callback, like, this has been done before and that could be played by the people supporting Eden. )

TWO. Elite Tsunaomi vs. Vio!

Yeah, I couldn't resist a chance to have Elite AU bullshit. I imagine that a real battle between them ( so like, not a sparring match when Vio's still a soldier ) would be a sort of remorseful thing, given that Elite AU Tsu is loyal to the Octarian Army. The opening sting of this song gives me those vibes - preparing for a fight that neither of them really wants, but, circumstances demand it. Also like. the Aesthetic of the video is very Octarian Dome, you have to admit.

See- it really depends on the individual and its capabilities to let the fuzzy thing do its job. Some may not die but develop some kind of health issue or psychological disorder (like Shiver and Frye)

This guy said it for Dedf1sh, Acht already had the sanitization thing, getting fuzzed was too much to handle with the symptoms and stuff, and if they survived they would’ve never escaped the delirium stage because of their delicate state of mind.

For captain 3 it was similar, too much to handle in such little time that captain just began to bite and scratch themselves all over in stress, and also because of their bad hygiene lol (it got to them really bad and caused infections n stuff)

For Octavio, he’s always in his octopus form so haha bone deformity and couldn’t change back to his octoling form. He would’ve survived if he didn’t stay like that forever (and actually he’d be incredibly powerful) :c

Overall there’s a ton of symptoms that they can have, some are common between the two species and more and some are exclusive (hostility for example is only seen more in octolings)

Ink burns headcannon

So ink burns are a common Injury in splatoon, they occur when an inkling or octoling is shot repeatedly by a single ink color in a single part of their body. This happens due to the different color ink burning into their skin so much that their own ink can't fully fix that part of them. Leaving a burn mark at the area in that color for a while until their body can flush it out.

It's a low level injury most of the time. It's mostly is just a sore and irritable area on the inkling/octoling. It may hurt to touch or cause slight pain when moving that area depending on how big the burn is. Most people get it playing Turf either by getting splatted a lot in a single round or fighting the same color repeatedly. This is why teams try to change color each round. It's also why splatfests have a high amount of ink burns reported during and after them.

Treatments are pretty simple. If you see a burn appearing [1st degree ink burn] try and avoid fighting that color if possible, or avoid getting shot in that general area if the first isn't possible. If it's already burned into the skin fully [2nd degree], it's recommended you stop playing Turf or whatever ink related activities you're doing though if you're careful you should be fine. At this degree you can wash the area with cold water to help cool it (ink is hot after being fired) and wash some of the forgin ink off. It should disappear in about a day or two. If the burn is becoming a darker shade [3rd degree] it is very highly recommended you stop whatever ink activities you are doing immediately (if a squid-force employee notices you trying to play with this degree burn they will stop the match and force you to stop until it's gone) at this level pain will become highly noticeable and the burn may take over a week to fully dissappear. To treat effectively wash the area with cold water and try and keep it on ice. If possible try not to strain that part of you too much. If you see a very darkly shaded ink burn [4th degree] stop all ink activities immediately, no matter how important you think they are. Further damage to that area could cause nerve damage, sometimes permanently. At this stage the ink burn will be penatrating your muscle tissue and can make it difficult to move that part of you without large spikes of pain. This degree of burn, depending on how bad it is, could stay for years or sometimes forever (though the pain will lessen over time). As for treatment, it is highly recommended you check into a hospital to reduce risks. If you are unable to for any reason (like trying to hide agent work for example) try and submerge the area in cold water while as soon as you can, of course, being careful not to submerged too much and end up splatting yourself. Avoid using that part of your body if possible wear and tear will only make it worse, applying disinfectant is also recommended as burns this deep can cause bleeding and Lead way to infection. After you do this bandage the wound and try and keep it on ice whilst straining it, after you think the area is fully cooled down make sure to eat and drink plenty while getting lots of rest while your body works to restore the damaged area. This degree of inkburn is very rare since most people stop playing after 3rd degree, the leading cause of this is high acidity Ink (I will explain in a moment) but aside from that Splatfests are the leading cause.

High acidity Ink, this is ink that that has a higher acidity level than normal. Certain people are born with this type of ink and it can carry down by generation. This ink hurts more to be hit with and causes ink burns easier, people who have it are mostly the same as other inklings/octolings though it is a common belief that high acidity Ink makes people both stronger and more irritable though it's never been proven. This trait is seemingly more common in people who evolved from venomous species of cephalopods. The octarian army considers ink acidity when choosing front line troops and when promoting solider to elites, leading to a majority of Elites having high acidity Ink and being more dangerous as a result.

Extra info

-some of the top level turf players have prominent ink burns from their years of battle.

-Agent 3's scar is technically an ink burn, since they had sanitized ink latched to their face for a long period of time and sanitized ink is the highest acidity ink known. (the degree of Burn caused is dependent on what you think.)

-Agent 4 and 3 (in my versions) have multiple ink burns due to the high acidity Ink of many frontline octolings. As does 8 due to the Metro

-4 is more proud of her scars. Seeing them as proof of her strength. 3 is indifference about it (except the one on her eye which she hates). 8 doesn't like how they look and tries to hide hers

- ink Burns during splatfast are so common they often have tents set up on the edge of the event for the pure purpose of treating them

-chargers and splatlings are the weapon that causes burns the most

- ink burns on someone's tentacles often end up sinking down to the ends of their tentacles if they occur often enough it can lead to noticeable amounts of that ink at the end of their tentacles.

interesting…looks like in that first apocalypse au art Callie has scars in the same place as some of her zombie-isms. Does this mean Callie is cured? Or is that first art taking place before Callie is infected?

Iif you are infected, the disease is curable up to a certain threshold. The longer it progresses untreated, there will be health effects related to infection (ex. with Callie, the affected eye "grew" back, but she's now severely visually impaired and photosensitive in that eye). Both eyes are more sensitive in general because they are less protected from UV rays (lost melanin).

Most people assume that once you're infected it's game over, and the cure is difficult to synthesize, never mind distribute.

Tacking on some more information because I was doing some more writing a while ago regarding the disease and its origin and I like talking

Old sketch mostly for color and concept

Retconned some stuff surrounding Marina and the details of the settlements bc it was kind of broad, the timeline is pushed back a bit further into the past.

Marina and Pearl are still together but since I changed how the disease itself works as well as the timeframe, I don't think they're quite in a spot to open the doors of their compound to outsiders. Marina is still studying the disease and Pearl is infected. Her treatments consist of sitting in a medicated ink solution to slow the progression of the disease and the presentation of symptoms.

Also note their states of dress here. Pearl stays inside mostly because the disease is causing chronic fatigue, but Marina seems hardly equipped to be coming face-to-face with shamblers and definitely not to prevent injuries or micro-abrasions ....

The disease is actually an octarian bioweapon :3 Marina is unable to become sick from it. It wasn't intended to be used just yet. Octolings can be carriers (as I hc they and inklings to be similar species, but it's more of a horse + donkey situation).

I haven't been drawing all that much for the au, so I don't have anything else to attach rn (I've been busy writing a different au and the doc has ~11k words atm). I drafted this a while ago and hoped to have more to share but not yet

Hello! This is the creator of the account!(@satelite-kun-main) Yes. This is an official Parallel Fanon ask blog (though just reffer to Parallel Fanon as Parallel CANON as Fanon is not the canon name for them in the AU.)

Now to those unknowing. AN AU?!? You scream out?!?@? Yes. This is the Parallel Canon seen in my side order AU "Fading Memories". Where the memverse does a lost in vivo and is instead used to treat the trauma of various inklings and octolings through exposure therapy in the form of the many monsters that represent all sorts of trauma. In this case, Parallel Canon is an AI in the memverse, and represents the trauma Agent 8 has pertaining to being manipulated and brainwashed via propaganda and all that in the octarian military.

WARNINGS FOR THIS ENTIRE ASK BLOG/RP ACCOUNT: Mentions of warfare, Spouting of propaganda, body horror, light psychological horror, weaponry, parasitic infection (to an extent with the coral on Canon's bodies), and much more.

General World Info:

In the beginning, it takes place a few months after the events of Octo Expansion. Currently (as of 8/8/24) it has been a little less than a year

Spawn points don't exist outside of Turf Wars/Ranked battles, etc.

Octavio has been captured and currently resides in a high security prison. He is never getting out.

Octavio had used sanitization and hypnosis as a tool for control and punishment during his reign. He never had any intention on liberating his citizens.

There is only one hospital on the surface that handles Sanitization cases atm. This is due to it being rarely seen on the surface during octavios time, so not many people were researching it.

Squidjumping within city limits is illegal unless if it's an emergency

Instead of sewers, there are tunnels connecting the surface and the underground.

NSS:

Their current goal is to find out where all of the sanitization infections are coming from, helping to acclimate octolings to the surface, and helping to establish a working government/system to the citizens below the surface who are too afraid to leave (works alongside other agencies) Sometimes, they help around the community as well.

To their knowledge, there are no more hypnotized octolings.

Although small, NSS is a publicly known and important government organization

Captain Cuttlefish is deceased, NSS is run by Marie and Callie currently, although marie takes on a bigger chunk of the responsibilities.

There's a temporary housing area set up for octolings new to the surface not far from the clinic. They stay there until homes are found for them, which usually takes just a couple of weeks. They work with social services to help them beyond that as well.

Marina and Pearl are agents 6 and 7, however their role is much smaller and mainly help on the side of helping misplaced citizens find homes.

There is a single clinic near octo canyon as of this point that the NSS helped to establish with Inkopolis Memorial (due to a large chunk of sanitizations being found in that area) It's fairly small and typically only has one person working at a time, usually Agent 5 or another doctor from one of the local hospitals.

Inkling/Octoling Stuff:

They take more after the human side

They bleed actual blood instead of ink

They have claws that they can use for defense - ink will fill the tip of the claws.

Everybody has a limiter, which is a chip installed in their arm. Without this, they could use up too much ink when battling and possibly die due to their bodies not being able to keep up with production. When low on ink, their tentacles will become extremely dull and lose almost all color. They'll become extremely weak and lethargic until their hearts finally stop.

They have more flexible bones, but they can still break

They have 3 hearts

Inklings and Octolings gain their squid/octo form around puberty - they are in human form up until then.

Development of a person's squid/octo form can be stunted during puberty if they have health issues

They are able to swim in any water

It expends energy to change from an ink color that's not the natural one so typically they will dye their ink if they want it changed for longer

Ink burns are rare but can happen. It's caused by consistent exposure to enemy ink in a single area or an extremely strong shot. They can be painful, but they will heal and fade over time - they turn blue in color despite the color of the enemy ink.

When a cephalopod feels intense feelings of romantic love for another, their ink color will subconsciously change to match their partner's. They don't technically need to be together for this to happen.

They cannot fall asleep while in squid/octo form; if they do, they will change back automatically.

They have to use special shears to cut their tentacles or else it would be painful and cause possible damage.

Octolings only have some control over their tentacles, and usually, their tentacles can give hints to their mood. Typically, the older they get, the more control they have, but this isn't always the case. The amount of control changes depending on the person.

Inklings and octolings reach full maturity in their 20s-30s. This is where they develop a secondary color at the tip of their tentacles, and octolings will also have their fingers matching their ink color. Typically, octolings reach this earlier than inklings, but everyone is different.

They can get grey/white ink streaks due to age or extreme stress or anxiety

1. Monster AU

Essentially, all of inkling and octoling kind (maybe every species idk) have this gene/virus that slowly mutates them into a monster of some sort, based on their mental state. If your really stressed, you turn into a monster sooner. If you're chill, you'll see little, to no transformation.

I might as well info dump about it here cuz y not.

For most of inkfish existance, they've been afflicted by a virus that turns them into monsters. If you get bitten or scratched, you can get infected basically 95% of the time. It can also be transmitted through sex, and can also be passed onto offspring as well. There's no known cure, but there are pills with reduce both anxiety, stress, and the overall affects of the virus.

The virus had a huge impact on the war. The inkings used monsters in a more direct approach, forcing soilders into high stress situations to force them to mutate faster, and then sends them in to fight. It was effective, however, the octolings had a different strategy. They respected the changes, and would only alow the mutations just a little far. They'd allow soilders to mutate just enough for some of the benefits to take place. Extra strength, odd abilities, extra limbs, etc…

The inklings win the war in the end, and force the octolings underground. This leads into the 2 mentalities regarding the approach towards dealing with the virus.

Octariens take it as more of a divine sort of thing (idk). Changes from the virus are embraced. They don't dilibertly seek out infection, but anything that happens, happens. (Idk exactly how to explain it.) The scientific side is pushed off more.

Inklings treat ot more as a virus alone. A disease to be cured. The mental aspect is pushed off more. All that it comes down to is "don't get stressed and take your pills". The virus is way more linked to one's mental state than everyone thinks.

Anyways, splat 1.

In splat 1, Molly (3) joins the NSS to steal back the zapfish. Molly ran away from home to hopefully find some kind of cure for the virus for themselves. The pills that help with the virus are made from zapfish blood, so maybe helping all of them can maybe lead them to finding a cure. In the end, they find The Great Zapfish after defeating octavio. Its a lot different from the cannon one, and it's more like an ethereal creature, one that a mortal mind cannot comprehend. But before Molly's mind breaks, the Great Zapfish helps by taping one of its long whisker things on their forehead. They can now understand, and not have their mind shatter into nothing when looking at the Great Zapfish. They leave the domes, and Molly stops mutating any further, aside from a few things. Over time, they gain a few Zapfish traits, like a big tail, and those long whiskers.

Splat 2

I don't have much 4 splat 2 honestly. I haven't thought about it that much. But Four is infected, goes through the same and maybe has an identity crisis. Then she realizes that she's in control of herself and is kinda unbothered by the whole turning into a monster thing.

O.E

Three and Eight fight. Three, although the virus is no longer Affecting them, they still carry it, and can infect others. They infect Eight, and they fall into the metro. EIght is essentially on a timer here, because the metro gives MAX stress levels, and Eight is transforming really fast. Cuttlefish is there to help her through it, distracting her with dodging her attacks whenever she gets a bit crazy and talking to her and such, as well . By the end, she has transformed significantly. TarTar tries to blend them, and 3 saves them. TarTar realizes that, "oh shit, they're infected but not changing, weird." So they mind hyjack them. They get mind controlled, but TarTar cant restart the virus in them (G-Zapfish and all).

TarTars motivation here is trying to rid the world of the virus entirely; through killing everything basically. The virus also existed when humans where around.

They Fight, and make it to the surface! Three ends up losing their eye, and has major trauma (As per every Three there is)

Eight transforms even further, after O.E. she grows to be, like, 11 - 12 feet tall. She is also very crazy.

Any types of transformation, zapfish or otherwise, stops entirely due to the sanitization.

splat 3

Neo stumbles upon the NSS through Callie.

One thing that I haven't mentioned about the virus yet is that if 2 parents who have it procreate, and have a child, there is a very slim chance that the child will be completely immune to the virus. very small, but it's there. Captain Cuttlefish, Callie, and Neo are all immune. Marie unfortunately never got this trait.

Grizz is like the Great Zapfish, as in being an almost ethereal/eldritch being of mind breaking properties and comprehension. although compared to the GZ, he's much less so. they defeat him, and then SIde order!!!

Side order: Eight goes through the memverse and has her mind somewhat fixed. Less crazy and less beast like. Still fucking huge though. Here are some doodles I did!!!

The same, but instead of memories or whatever, Marina creates the memverse to hopefully try and restore the minds of those who've lost theirs to the virus. Eight does this, and becomes significantly less insane and crazy.

I've only drawn 3 and 8, so I'll give a basic description of what the others kind of look like.

(I don't have full design ideas for everyone yet so keep that in mind)

Marie:

Marie has progressed an average amount, but has seen significant change. She has 4 arms, 1 extending from the back of each shoulder. She's also very bulky with muscle. She's got sharper teeth as well.

Four:

Four's acceptance of her transformation had definitely helped slow it down, but also helped progress it at the same time. She's got small wings too. 

Neo:

After encountering Grizz, Neo gains a few traits from him. She starts to grow hair, fingernails that grow very sharp, their beak turns more into teeth (canines, mollers, other teeths), etc. It's all pretty minor compared to what most people go through,  but still.

Oh boy that was a lot…next one!!!

2. Splatoon Ultra AU

TBH I have no clue what to call this one, but it's basically like the “EPICtale” of my splatoon ocs (if you get that reference). But essentially, everyone is very strong and shit and everything js crazy. I don't have much for this one but 3 is, like, 7 feet tall. I talked about this before but I deleted that post I think

3. TarTar wins kind of

This is the AU where TarTar was able to fire the beam at inkopolis, but it missed a little. It wasn't world ending, but it permanently affects the world as a whole. This is the AU my “Chaos Seas” fic takes place in. I should work on that again…

Basically, grizzco has become a much needed, but EXTREMELY dangerous job. It's a last resort for people who can't afford housing, and housing is mega important in this world because there are huge storms that last days at a time. I might end up posting the rest of what I have on it ok ao3, and then remake it later. Idk.
