Harry appeared at Draco’s side about halfway through the party.

“We need to take drastic measures,” he said.

Even though he knew full well what Harry meant, and even though he’d rejected the idea at the start of this, Draco agreed now. They’d tried everything else, including being disgustingly, saccharine-sweet with each other over breakfast.

And still, still, everyone thought it was a joke.

All that time spent in fear of the reaction to them, and no one bloody believed them. He couldn’t stand it any longer. 

“How far should we take it?” he asked, finishing his drink and banishing the glass.

Harry’s jaw set in a familiar stubborn expression. “As far as it takes.”

1) My arse. LOL I’ve been serious in my previous ask, lemme be a bit stupid now. But really, it’s pretty. xD

2) My mindfulness. Ahhh I swear though, I can focus a lot on my feelings and what surrounds me til the point I am completely peaceful. Most of the times. If necessary. 😂

3) I’m gonna say it? Okay, let’s say it. My writing. *gasp* I mean, I am not completely proud of myself, but I discovered I can not suck completely at it, and that’s a good feeling!

4) The fact that I am a strong person. As in ‘I met you, I like you, I WANNA MARRY YOU’ I simply get very involved with the people I love and I recently discovered there’s nothing wrong with it. 😊

5) Last, but not least. Another thing I only learned recently it’s not wrong about myself: I LIKE BOTH GIRLS AND BOYS. Actually, I can like anyone at all, no distinction. Ops. And that’s fine. *gasp gasp gasp*!

1. My ink - I love each of my tattoos and I am just trying to settle on placement before I get my next set!

2. My hands...! They used to be so hard to move in the way I wanted them to go (dyspraxia), but after years of PT and ASL, there's been so much improvement in my dexterity.

3. My eyes, which are green like my mom's and my younger brother's.

4. My joy! I'm so much more joyful these days. Now the things I whine about are just nuisances, whereas a while ago they felt world-ending.

5. My empathy. Some people still believe autistics don't feel empathy, but tell that to my tear ducts because if there's anyone upset within a mile radius of me, I will feel it in my soul...I think the world would be so much better if everyone was more empathetic!

Harsh Whisper

So, I wasn't going to write this, but inspiration hit me, and I wanted to share! To the wonderful @inevitabledrarry I hope you enjoy!

“What the fuck?!” 

It was a harsh whisper, barely registering through the fog of pain that assaulted him continuously. 

“What’s he doing here-?"

“-He looks hurt.”

“Are you kidding? It’s probably a trap!-”

Three voices, all of which he thought he recognised, yet… He couldn’t place them. Everything was a haze. A thudding, agonising haze.

Something appeared before him, swimming into his vision; emerald sparks and pitch black waves. There was something familiar about it, even if Draco had no idea what it was. He knew this was his only chance.

“Help me…” It was barely a whisper, his throat dry, lips cracked, from hours without water, from days of abuse, but it was all he could manage. He needed it to be enough.

Darkness claimed him before he could hear their response.

2019: Things I’m proud of

Thanks for tagging me @coriesocks! It was fun to do a little retrospective 😊

Rules: It’s time to love yourselves! Choose your 5 favorite works you created in the past year (fics, art, edits, etc.) and link them below to reflect on the amazing things you brought into the world in 2019. 1. As Long As There’s Sun (Jeddy, 55k, E)

It starts like this: when James is fifteen, Teddy quits Auror training and leaves England. Ten years later, he shows up on James’s doorstep with a baby in his arms.

I started writing this story in September or October of 2018, and finally finished it in March of 2019. It’s not only the longest fic I’ve ever written, but the longest anything that’s made it to a stage where it’s edited and readable. (Not counting the first-drafts-that-were-never-revised I wrote in high school, lol.) I’m mad proud of it even though it hasn’t gotten a ton of ‘love,’ as they say. (Which is fair - it deals with some pretty serious topics that I understand are not everyone’s thing!)

2. The Quandum Quandary: Harry and Draco’s Month of Mayhem (Drarry, 34k, E)

McGonagall’s out to get Harry and Draco, with a laundry list of new duties for them now that Hogwarts’ contraceptive wards have fallen. Hermione’s been called in to fix them, but in the meantime Harry and Draco are patrolling the corridors, babysitting owl nests, and trawling for giant squid eggs in the Great Lake. Plus their pets, both rare Australian marsupials called Quandums, are having a baby together.

It would all be easier to handle if they weren’t still thinking about their casual physical relationship, which ended years ago.

Something more recent - my fic for Erised 2019, written entirely between the last week of October and the last week of November! I’m really pleased that I was able to realize the story I wanted to within the limited time frame, and also that I wrote something funny, a little silly, and exploring an area of the HP world I hadn’t written about before - magical creatures and magical theory :)

3. Single and Snacking in Phoenix, AZ (Ginsy, 25k, E)

In for a Knut, in for a Galleon, Ginny thought.

“It’s actually Pansy.” She looked down, not wanting to see Harry’s reaction. “Pansy Parkinson? From school?"

Harry sounded a little strangled. “Parkinson?"

Ginny lifted her chin. “Yes. I’m bringing Pansy Parkinson as my plus-one to your wedding.”

When she told her friends she was bringing a date to Harry and Luna’s wedding, Ginny had only wanted them to stop bothering her about her love life. Now she’s facing an entire weekend of pretending that Pansy Parkinson, her casual hook-up, is actually her girlfriend. What could possibly go wrong?

This fic is the longest f/f I’ve ever written, and it’s my first story where I was able to collaborate with an artist (I’m still heart-eyes over @keyflight790’s magical gif skills, tbh). It took a while for me to get the idea off the ground (I started a *lot* of other stories) but I’m so happy with how it turned out, the Ginny voice I was able to capture and the complex relationships the story dealt with, as well as the fact that I was able to write something for the HP WLW Big Bang. Which brings me to...

4. HP WLW Big Bang 2019 ( @hpwlwbigbang )

Possibly the thing I’m most proud of fandom-wise from 2019 is that @frnklymrshnkly and I realized our dream of running this fest! When we started talking about it at the end of 2018 we really didn’t know if anyone except the two of us would be interested in it, but we thought it was an important idea and decided to do it anyway. We were blown away to have such amazing participation, and so much excitement and support from the HP fandom as a whole 💜 Neither of us had run a Big Bang before but we figured it out, and I was soooo lucky to have such a great co-mod to do it with. I can’t wait for the 2020 fest!!!

5. 183,158 words for Get Your Words Out

I may not have reached my pledge this year (which I talked about more in-depth here), but this is still the most I’ve ever written in one year, and I don’t think I would have reached it if I hadn’t been signed up for GYWO - I probably would have burned out after I posted As Long As There’s Sun and never even gotten around to writing some of my later in 2020 stories like The Quandum Quandary, and what a shame that would have been! I’m not doing GYWO again in 2020 (although I will still be tracking my yearly word count), but I’m really proud of how much I wrote in 2019!

It doesn’t happen to me nearly as much as other people in the fandom or as much as to artists, but oh man it is irritating. One person reposts something and they all steal it off each other until there’s dozens of reposts of the same damn post (and it’s almost always one with my username cropped off). *big sigh* at least reporting them puts a strike against their account so in the long run, they’ll get deleted for it when they piss off enough content creators. 

Just wish Instagram allowed reverse image searching on their site because omfg that would make this so much easier to deal with. Like, it’s an image based platform and people regularly steal from each other and repost LET US REVERSE IMAGE SEARCH SO WE CAN FIND REPOSTS AND REPORT THEM EASIER!!

Summary:

Harry Potter was confused. He was a lot of things: fearless, heroic, genuine... but he was definitely not gay. And when none other than Draco Malfoy decided to call him such, things became heated.

They’re now forced to spend detention in each other’s presence sorting and reviewing memories for Dumbledore. Unexpectedly, the punishment turns into a wild ride that leaves Harry breathless, reeling, and questioning everything.

From the Marauders, to the romance between Sirius Black and Remus Lupin, to trials of morality and standing against everything someone was raised to be, even to Voldemort himself, Harry learns that memories can change anything about someone. Even if that person is his sworn enemy.

Excerpt:

Suddenly, everything froze. There it was, dancing on Malfoy’s lips like the damn lottery. A smile.

And not a smirk, or a sneer, or anything so characteristically Malfoy. It was a true, genuine, honest grin.

And it was so beautifully un-Malfoy that Harry felt a mixture of admiration and confusion but before he could ponder it... the world was changing.

He looked at himself in the mirror. He had a bruise on his hip and he was sure the last client had ripped something inside him, but it'll have to do. He didn't have any option. And what was one more anyway?

His heart skipped a beat when he saw the new client.

He came here every week and asked for Draco. He never asked to fuck him or to be fucked. He only asked Draco to lie in the bed with him.

“Hey, how are you?” the man asked.

It always amazed Draco how happy this man seemed to see him. As if Draco was someone important to him and not just a whore.

“Fine. I thought you weren't going to come this week.”

“I always come.” He looked at Draco for a moment and then his beautiful green eyes became sad. They usually did that. Draco wanted to wipe that sadness away, but he didn't know how. “Are you happy here, Draco?”

Draco looked at him without understanding. Why shouldn't he be happy? He didn't remember his life before they brought him to the brothel. Of course he often wondered about the world that existed beyond the house walls and often daydreamed about a life with the green-eyed man. But he knew his place.

“Yes. You don't look happy though.” He dared to caress the man's face.

“I'm not,” he answered, his eyes filled with unfathomable sadness.

“Why?” Draco wished he could help him.

“I miss you.”

And Draco knew that he was talking about a life he couldn’t remember, a life that had been erased from his memory, and for the first time in a long time, he wished he knew what he had done to deserve this life as punishment.
