Buggie Omens makes a return, this time being featured in a FanFiction! 🪲 I’ve been working with @the-bug-geek to help illustrate her AU beetle!omens fic! I can’t recommend giving it a read enough, it’s AMAZING! In her AU Crowley is a devils coach beetle (Ocypus olens) and Aziraphale is a rainbow leaf beetle (Chrysolina cerealis).

The fic is called “Beetle! Omens” and is by Rosy_Maple_Moth and the_bug_geek on ao3!

Quiet, Open Togetherness

In the late summer sunshine, the garden hums with life. Aziraphale has watched the sprawling jungle they inherited from the previous owner transform into an oasis of calm and order under Crowley's uncompromising attention. Bees meander lazily between fragrant stems of lavender, while butterflies flicker and dance above. Some hours later, surrounded by the remains of the picnic, Aziraphale lazes against the trunk of the old apple tree, book in one hand and glass of wine in the other. Crowley sprawls in a customary tangle of limbs beside him, head pillowed in the angel’s lap, basking in the dappled sunlight playing through the gently swaying leaves.

crowley, throws him a pencil: go on. I want to see you do it

aziraphale, hesitates: is now really the best time?

crowley, getting comfortable: yes. get on with it

aziraphale, takes the sketchbook: fine. have it your way *drags a stool over*

crowley, relaxed: I like them, by the way. you make me look good

aziraphale, concentrating: that isn't me

crowley: ...

crowley, blurts out: shall I take my clothes off?

aziraphale, pauses for a moment: not if you want this to get done

crowley: *smirks*

I’ve seen so many people saying that “of course the straight couple get the happy ending” (meaning ineffable bureaucracy), am I missing something? I thought Beelzebub was nonbinary ? Did I make this up in my head, or have people just forgotten because of the actor swap?
