चैतन्य भारत न्यूज। साल 1984 की 2 व 3 दिसंबर की द��मियानी रात हुई भोपाल गैस त्रासदी में हजारों लोग काल के गाल में समा गए थे और लाखों लोग प्रभावित हुए थे। यह बीसवीं सदी में हुई विश्व की सबसे 'बड़ी औद्योगिक दुर्घटनाओं" में से एक है। इस जानकारी के साथ ही संयुक्त राष्ट्र (यूएन) की रिपोर्ट में चेतावनी देते हुए बताया गया है कि हर वर्ष 27.8 लाख श्रमिक व्यावसायिक दुर्घटनाओं और काम से संबंधित बीमारियों से मारे जाते हैं। संयुक्त राष्ट्र की श्रम एजेंसी अंतरराष्ट्रीय श्रम संगठन (आइएलओ) ने यह रिपोर्ट जारी की है। इसमें कहा गया है कि साल 1984 में मध्य प्रदेश की राजधानी भोपाल में यूनियन कार्बाइड के कीटनाशक संयंत्र से कम से कम 30 टन मिथाइल आइसोसाइनेट (मिक) गैस का रिसाव हुआ था। इस दुर्घटना में छह लाख से अधिक श्रमिक और आसपास रहने वाले लोग भी प्रभावित हुए थे। सरकारी आंकड़ों में अनुमान लगाया गया है कि उस आपदा की वजह से लोगों को कई तरह की बीमारियां हुईं। आने वाले सालों में करीब 15 हजार लोगों की मौत हो गई। यूनियन कार्बाइड का जहरीला कचरा अभी भी वहीं है। वह रिसकर जमीन में जा रहा है, पानी में मिल रहा है। यही नहीं, दुर्घटना की वजह से हजारों जीवित बचे लोग और उनकी आने वाली पीढ़ियों के बच्चे श्वसन रोगों, आंतरिक अंगों व प्रतिरक्षा प्रणाली को हुए नुकसान से पीड़ित हैं। संयुक्त राष्ट्र की इस रिपोर्ट को 'द सेफ्टा एंड हेल्थ एट द हार्ट ऑफ द फ्यूचर ऑफ वर्क-बिल्डिंग ऑन 100 इयर्स ऑफ एक्सपीरियंस" के नाम से प्रकाशित किया गया है। 27.8 लाख मजदूर कार्य संबंधी हादसों और बीमारियों से मरते हैं- रिपोर्ट के अनुसार, हर साल 27.8 लाख श्रमिक व्यावसायिक दुर्घटनाओं और कार्य-संबंधी बीमारियों से मर जाते हैं। अतिरिक्त 37.4 करोड़ मजदूर गैर-घातक व्यावसायिक हादसों से पीड़ित हैं। रिपोर्ट में बताया है कि बिना भुगतान के काम कराने से किसी कर्मचारी के स्वास्थ्य, सुरक्षा या जीवन को खतरा हो सकता है। एजेंसी ने कई नए या मौजूदा व्यावसायिक जोखिमों की पहचान की जो पुरुषों की तुलना में महिलाओं को अधिक प्रभावित करते हैं। रिपोर्ट के मुताबिक 36 प्रतिशत कर्मचारी लंबे समय से अत्यधिक काम कर रहे हैं। इसका मतलब है कि वे प्रति सप्ताह 48 घंटे से अधिक काम कर रहे हैं। Read the full article
