"Okay." Danny slowly laid the already cold body back onto the table, ready to slide back it into the refuge of cold storage. "Okay. Dead guy. Stay there."
The body didn't move.
"Fantastic. Now. Hang out while I pour the embalming fluid into the pump, alright? It should only be a minute."
And it usually did; working in a funeral home wasn't extremely glamorous, but it paid the bills, and Danny had already been used to the rhyme and rhythm of negotiating death with the public by the time he sent in his mortuary school application. It had been a transition that made sense. And in the end, the degree had only cost him a few extra years post-graduation and a little dig into student loans, and now Danny had a stable 12-8 job and health insurance valid in the state of new jersey.
Today, though, the pump had that decided enough was enough. With a bang and a boom, the pump spat out a cloud of smoke and clunked uncomfortably.
The dead body sat up.
Danny scrambled over to push it back down. "No. We talked about this. Dead people don't move. If you want to stay here and have me put you back together all the time, you have to stay put. Got it?"
Whatever the weird gold-eye corpses were on in Gotham, they at least listened to him on occasion. They weren't ghosts, per se— they never pinged on any of the ghost detection devices Mom and Dad had packed in his going-away-to-college bag— but they were, despite being occasionally animate, perfectly deceased.
Weird. Danny had never gotten used to it. Still, they came in droves, too eager to sit on the top of the basement stairwell and lurk in the corners and stare endlessly at them with their weird, avian eyes, and sometimes they heralded the arrival similarly weird-ass bodies that had lost their heads or their arms or their limbs through the more conventional channels.
"I'm losing too much thread to all y'all coming in all the time," Danny complained to the dead body, who, at the moment, was the only person present to blame. "Stop getting your limbs cut off. This stuff is expensive, you know. It's a specialty order."
The body didn't even have the courtesy to blink. Rude.
"At least let them bury you this time. Every time one of you darts off when my back's turned, my boss thinks I'm stealing corpses. My coworkers think I'm building my own Frankenstein or something."
The corpse neither verbalized nor blinked, but Danny hadn't expected it to; with a sigh, he rolled the corpse back into cold storage, locked its little door (not that locking it in had ever stopped it) and called it quits for the night.
It's not like anyone was paying him for the extra hours anyway.

Introduction of Forlinx Embedded's Upcoming SoM Based on RISC-V Architecture
In recent years, RISC-V has attracted a lot of attention because of its completely open source, free of charge, and free to modify without constraints. Under this background, Forlinx Embedded works together with a RISC-V processor manufacturer and launches FET7110-C SoM based on Jinghong(JH) 7110 processor!
Tumblr media
The FET-JH7110-C SoM is designed and developed based on the JH7110 processor, with a process of 28 nm, open source RISC-V architecture, main frequency of 1.5 GHz, and integrated 4-core U74 architecture; It has powerful GPU processing capability and supports multi-lane video encoding and decoding, common functional interfaces such as 2xPCIe 2.0, 2xGigabit Ethernet, 2xCAN 2.0, etc. The SoM supports Linux 5.15.0 suitable for industrial vision-related application development.
In the future, Forlinx Embedded will take an active and open attitude in continuing to cooperate with more chip manufacturers and provide customers with more stable, reliable, and comprehensive intelligent control products!

I am a huge Christian Dior fan, his early collections are some of my absolute favorites. The sister dresses are works of art from the 1950's and I'll stand by that. That being said, it's important we know Christian Dior Couture is a brand within Christian Dior SE that was sold to LVMH (Bernard Arnault) in the 1980's.
The history of the Maison, and everyone who has been a part of it, is well known and documented. There's no way you work with or on the industry and doesn't know about it.
And that also includes knowing who profits the most out of the money that comes from the industry, how it has been changing since the 1990's and since it became one of the most profitable industries.
It's no wonder the richest person in the world so happens to have funded the biggest luxury goods company in the world. The very same Dior Couture is part of.
I'm glad Lewis can experience with fashion, truly. That's what it’s meant to be. Experiments on how to express yourselves, how our style and how we view ourselves change, how we tell stories (even unknowingly) when we chose a fabric/color/texture.
But fashion is different from the fashion industry, and the latter is, today, first and foremost a business.
Lewis is a grown ass business man. And I feel that sometimes people tend to overlook that.
When he chose to become a brand embasador to a Maison on the fashion industry he knew what he was doing. And what it implied.
This is, by no means, meant as attack on Lewis. I just believe we, as fans, need to understand and consider he knew what it meant and he weighted the pros and cons. For his personal brand, for Dior, for LVMH and for what each of those represent and stand for.
We can, and should, debate over the fashion part. And we also can, and should, debate over the capitalism part of the fashion industry.
But know when you’re talking about each of them, and how to separate the criticism from those ends if needed. Because one is brought by creative work and the other from world, societal and personal belief views.

Ella Hunt's Sue from Dickinson as Veronese's Vision of Saint Helena, a copy of which was owned by the real Sue and is on display in her Evergreens house. 🖼️ They finally opened up this house for tours in 2024 and it was fantastic. I didn't forget the historically accurate HEALTH lyrics. 🎹🥁 I learned on the tour that Sue lived alone for decades after Emily died, collected Catholic Medieval and Renaissance art and considered becoming a nun.

i remember when pete first wore his skirt on stage and i saw people left and right and front and center talk shit about how ugly it was and it was such a moment for me of you lack such vision it makes me want to hit you so hard because pete’s skirt was such a sweet spot intersection of high fashion a la raf simons, ann demeulemeester, alexander wang, givenchy even, and with the layer and edge and seemingly effortless ease of NY/LA based streetwear and idk i think it deserved more applause vs being ‘just a skirt’ or pete being ‘just a dude in a skirt’ because it was intentionally styled and it was intentionally styled to compliment pete as a person, a performer, and a style icon
