Sure!
Indra: You need a hobby.  Shiva: I have a hobby!  Indra: Fawning over Vishnu isn’t a hobby.
Indra: So are you gonna explain how the hell you crashed my car?  Vishnu: Well we were driving and there was a deer in the road, so I said "Shiva, deer!"  Indra: ...And what did Shiva do?  Vishnu: ...He said "Yes, Honey?"
Shiva: Having two partners is both amazing and complicated. But all our problems are solved with communication.  Indra: It’s my turn to cuddle Vishnu.  Shiva: FIVE MORE MINUTES DARN IT!

Chapter 2: Group Meeting
-Two days later Shiva and his family met once again at Raiden’s house, this time with Ganesha as well, as he was a part of the family as well.
-Raiden greeted them all warmly, “Yo! Do you all want to have a drink before we get started?”
-Ten voices, in unison, all shouted out, “‘NO!’” which made Raiden boom with laughter before he led them in.
-Along with Kojiro, Kondo, and Okita, there were other rikishi as well, older ones who were a bit wiser, those who might have some good advice as well.
-The talks started off well enough, with Kondo inquiring the Hindu gods about what they had been dealing with before this meeting, such as the proposal letters or any threats.
-Each of the gods took turns, telling the group that letters had been sent in, letters of intent from someone else, like parents offering their daughter, or from the woman herself, as well as some anonymous letters with threats, something Zeus was now investigating, telling them to not marry a human.
-Raiden agreed, nodding his head, “I’ve heard men talking, other human men, saying they didn’t want any of their daughters marrying a god.”
-Shiva scowled lightly, scratching the back of his head lightly, annoyed to hear there was prejudice on both sides, gods wanting them to not marry a human and humans not wanting the gods to marry one of their own.
-Kojiro showed his wisdom, instead of just picking a random girl, “What kind of women do you all like then? I would hate to recommend someone who wouldn’t be a good fit and waste your time or hers.”
-Brahma spoke first, surprising the gods, “Someone who is calm. I deal with enough with Shiva’s shenanigans, I want someone more laid back.”
-Shiva immediately pouted, scowling over at Brahma, “You make it sound like you don’t like me~”
-Brahma sent him a small glare, “I do like you; I just don’t like the trouble you constantly cause the rest of us.”
-Vishnu nodded in agreement, “Someone intelligent would be nice. Someone to hold good conversations with.”
-Kali agreed with him, “I agree, someone to have in depth conversations would be nice to have, also a woman who will get along with the three of us, nobody vain or catty.”
-Parvati then piped up, “And they have to be nice to my son! And I agree with Kali, someone not shallow or mean to the three of us!”
-Everyone went back and forth, discussing good qualities they want in a woman before the other rikishi started to get involved, stating their own preferences in women and the discussions were quick to dissolve into arguments on which preferences were the best.
-Some tried to keep the peace, like Kondo and Kojiro, while others tried to get the group back on track, like Rudra, “What happened to helping us find a wife?!”
-Shiva sighed softly before he glanced to the side, seeing Ganesha looking a bit worried about the fighting, turning to give his son a small smile, putting his hand on his head, “Go play Ganesha, you don’t need to sit here with us while we’re arguing.”
-Ganesha was surprised but he nodded and headed outside, into Raiden’s yard where he had played numerous times, enjoying the cooler weather.
-He instantly grinned, seeing other children he had played with before, both god and human children who cheered out his name and he was quick to meet them as one of the boys told the Hindu god that they were going to go and play with a kickball.
-They immediately inviting him to join in and the group of children ran off to go and play, leaving behind the house that doubled as a dojo that was getting louder and louder, behind.

Sakhi what do you think about Karna x Duryodhan
Ok Sakha, look. My main OTPs are:
Krishna x Arjuna
Vishnu x Shiva x Indra
Duryodhan x Karna
Like bro, Duryodhan only loves Karna and no one else. And Karna has literally promised Duryodhan that his whole life belongs to him. So yeah! I ship it!

My little Thunder
Tumblr media
Indra x Goddess ! reader
Who knew that the White Platinum man could fall in love with someone.
You were the sister of Rudra , you were mostly Shiva and Rudra's little diamond . When your brother wanted to reach the peak of Svarga , you wanted to go with them if they needed help who will help.
To know that , you , Rudra and Shiva weren't known at the time , so if they needed help from the people they wont get it
And somehow everyfight they got into , they won , from the lower gods such as the Asura siblings to the most powerful gods such as Agni , Varuna
Until you , your brother and Shiva met Indra "My oh my , what do we've got here" Indra smirked while looking at you , " Hey! Dont you even try to take our little jewel or you will atrociously regret it" Shiva snarled at the White Platinium man .
And Rudra who started to have an headache from the drama who started to begun , went for a fight against Indra
Indra quickly became one of the Followers of the Duo (Shiva x Rudra) , until your brother achived his dream . While you were preparing some food for you and the duo , you heard someone punches echoing throught the whole Pantheon , your heart started to hammering in your chest .
As you tried to run , Vishnu was blocking your way , trying to hide something from you "Lord Vishnu , what is happening ? Where is Rudra ? Where is Shiva" you started to panick and Vishnu answered "Vishnu will be great , first of all , your brother is at the peak of Svarga with his friend too , and now i can't let you go because they"re fighting " with a stoic expression , you started to panick more , tears falling slowly and Vishnu came for a hug .
Brahma came and asked what was happening until Vishnu looked at him in a very meaningful way , more like "Well dude , it is not the right moment to ask what the hell is going on"
"They litteraly fighting at the Peak , not giving a single care about their little jewel's who worried here" a deep voice was heard following by a thunder and the smell of smoke , it was Indra .
He approached you , while you were crying , and Vishnu stopped hugging you , took a few stepped back . He hugged you "Shh , Darling everything's alright " and after a couple of minutes crying , you felt asleep in the arms of the Hindu God of the Thunder
"Oh ! Someon's already asleep" Varuna appeared followed by Agni . Indra took you to his castle and put you on his bed . And went to deal with Shiva and Rudra.
With the boys
"Please don"t get up ! Rudra ! " Shiva thought and Rudra stood up again , face full of cut and blood "I-i-it's not over , the fun has just begun!" He yelled while he tried to punch Shiva again , but as expected Shiva dodged it and punched his best friend in the stromach.
A loud thunderstorm was heard following by Indra appearing between your brother and Shiva , yelling "Stop!" Which it was also heard in the Pantheon . Shiva was finally happy that someone stopped their fight so he would stop punching his friend.
"Can you two STOP FIGHTING FOR Y/N SAKE GOD DAMN IT ! She has cried non-stop , she's so freakin worried about you two and the only thing you can do is fighting "! He yelled , Rudra who was laying on the floor called your name "Y-y-y/n where is she?" He asked Indra , which Indra answered that she was in his castle sleeping.
And Indra dealed with the chaotic duo , and they litteraly apologized when you woke up saying that they wont worry you again.
After that drama , you went searching for the Hindu God of the Thunder , wanted to thank him for dealing with the duo . You found him , sleeping under a tree , you approachred him , slowly wanted to see if he was awake or not .
Somehow he found your feet , and he yanked you , head on his chest , hips to hips , you blushed madly .
"Hehe , i know that you were coming darling" he whispered "I-me'-i wanted to thank you , Lord Indra for d-d-dealing with my brother and his friend" you said while your face was still red from the sudden position you are right nod
"Hmm , it's alright ! As long as those two wont worry you again" He sighed and he started to pat your head . Indra said "Mujhe tumase pyaar hai" and you answered that you love him too .
A small blush was on his cheeks before he said that you should stay here , he really appreciate your presence , as you kissed him on the forehead.
Bonus:
Shiva : Rudra , i need to tell ya something
Rudra: What is it
Shiva : Promise you won't get mad
Rudra : If it is about Y/n , it depends
Shiva: Y/n have a boyfriend
Rudra with a creepy smile : Who is it
Shiva : He's tall , White-
Rudra : INDRRAAAAA , GET BACK HEREEE!

The Goddess emanates from the essence of all the gods Guler, Himachal Pradesh, India. watercolour painting. Image size: 20.0 x 29.5 cm
The painting depicts a scene from the Devi Mahatmya (Glory of the Goddess), written between fifth and sixth century as part of the Markandeya Purana. The text indicates that all goddesses are in fact different aspects of one, ultimate goddess. She is said to have emerged from the combined energy of all the gods.
The story states that Indra and the other gods had been expelled from their heaven by the buffalo-headed demon Mahishasura, and they appealed to Vishnu and Shiva for help. The anger of all the gods is channelled into pure energy that unites into a female form, thus creating the Great Goddess. She goes on to kill the buffalo demon Mahishasura, and the gods are restored to Indra’s heaven.
The main Hindu gods are recognisable, ash-white Shiva, Indra covered in eyes, and blue Vishnu on the left, with four-headed Brahma on the right. The blank background indicates that the event happens outside of space and time.

Kanchipuram is a fascinating town, best known for its magnificent temples and beautiful Silk Saris. When I visited, that is all I knew about it. However, it is a town full of stories, stories written in stone, in silk. And in the batter of the Idlis that get their name from the city. I had a long list of places to visit in Kanchipuram.
However, I started by visiting the 5 most important temples of Kanchipuram the must-visit places in the town. Each of them is a gem to explore. Both from historical as well as architectural perspective. Then, I started exploring the many other big and small temples in Shiva Kanchi, Vishnu Kanchi, and Jain Kanchi.
Silk Saris are everywhere in the city to lure you. I wrote a detailed piece on Where to buy Kanchipuram Saris?.
A brief history of Kanchipuram
It is an ancient city mentioned in many Indian scriptures. It is one of the 7 cities that are together called Saptapuris. Other 6 being Ayodhya, Mathura, Maya or Haridwar, Kashi or Varanasi, Avantika or Ujjain, and Dwaravati or Dwarka. Vamana Puran also mentions it as the best city among the cities of India when it says – Nagreshu Kanchi.
The city is divided into Shiva Kanchi and Vishnu Kanchi. Both of them surround the Kamakshi Amman Temple. Although, you would find enough Shiva temples in Vishnu Kanchi and vice-versa.
It has been the capital of Pallava dynasty from 4-10th CE. After which it came under Cholas, Pandyas and Vijayanagara empires. Presence of Jain and Buddhist images tells us that the three sects co-existed in the city. Just like they do in any cosmopolitan city around the world.
It was a great center of learning. Royal students would come here to pursue their higher education. Schools known as Ghatikas used to teach students. Unfortunately, today there is no trace of these ancient Ghatikas. Although new-age universities are coming up.
So, let me take you through the lesser-known aspects of the place.
Temples are the places to visit in Kanchipuram
5 Big temples
The 5 Big temples in the town that everyone visits are:
Sri Kanchi Kamakshi Temple – The reigning goddess of Kanchipuram & the temples around her complex.
Sri Ekambareshwarar Temple – The biggest Shiva temple in the town.
The oldest Shiva temple in this town Sri Kailasanathar Temple
Sri Varadharaja Perumal Temple – the biggest of Vishnu temples and the epicenter of Vishnu Kanchi.
Sri Vaikuntha Perumal Temple – the loveliest of Vishnu temple located in Shiva Kanchi.
I spent almost 6 days in the town visiting these 5 most important temples and more places to visit in Kanchipuram. Do read about them in detail before you plan your visit to the place.
Other temples of Shiva Kanchi
Kumara Kottam Temple
The Kumar Kottam Temple
Kumara Kottam temple is located between the temples of Kanchi Kamakshi and Ekamabareshwara. In a way, if you could take the ariel view of the city, the three temples would form a Somaskanda formation. You can access it while going from either of the temples to the other.
Though it is smaller than the two big temples around it, it is still a fairly large temple with two prakaras. The sanctum has an image of Murugan in a seated pose called Brahma Chattam. His consorts Valli and Devyani are present in their Utsav Murtis.
It is believed that Kand Purana was written in this temple.
Sri Ulagananda Perumal Temple
Located not too far from Kanchi Kamakshi Temple, Ulagananada temple is dedicated to Vamana Avatar of Vishnu. A 35 X 25 feet image in black stone, you see him with one leg raised and his hand gesture has two fingers raised indicating the two steps already taken. The size of the image in its dark color can overwhelm you.
His consort here is worshipped as Amruthavalli Thayar.
Sri Kacchapeswarar Temple
Sri Kacchapeswarar Temple
Located close to Kumar Kotta, Sri Kacchapeswara temple is a very large temple with a big temple tank right next to the main city road. It is believed that in this temple Vishnu worshipped Shiva in his Koorma (also called Kacchap in Sanskrit) or Tortoise avatar. Hence the temple came to be known as Kacchapeswarar. They say even Brahma and Saraswati prayed at this temple.
Another version says it is KachiKanchi Ishwara or the lord of the city of Kanchi.
Tank here is called Ishtasiddhi Teertham.
After the 5 big temples, this is the most visited temple in Kanchi.
Sri Chitragupta Swamy Temple
Chitragupta is the assistant of Yama, the lord of death. He is supposed to keep accounts of our good and bad karma. Basically, it is his accounting that dictates our birth and death cycles. It is rare to see a temple dedicated to him. I hear there is a temple in Delhi but I am yet to visit it.
The temple is small with a lovely Vigrah in the sanctum.
Sri Pandavdutha Perumal Temple
Pandavadoota Perumal Temple – Shiva Kanchi
Located close to Ekambreshwarar temple, this is a small and beautiful temple dedicated to Sri Krishna. This temple celebrates the moment when Sri Krishna had visited Hastinapur as the messenger or doot of Pandavas. That is how this temple gets its name – Pandavadootha temple.
This is one of the many temples across India that celebrate a moment of Puranic stories like Kopeshwar Temple in Khidrapur celebrates the moment of the immolation of Sati.
Jwaraharshwara Temple
Located close to Pandava Doota Temple, this is a small but beautiful temple in an apsidal shape. Also called Gajaprishtha or like elephant back. It is dedicated to Shiva as Jvara Hareshwara – the one who takes away your fever.
Mathangeswara Temple
Located close to Vaikuntha Perumal Temple, this is a small temple and you can see the signs of erosion on the lion-faced Pallava pillars.
Sri Kaushikehwarar Temple
Located close to Kanchi Kamakshi Temple, this is one of her Sannidhi temples. Dedicated to the six sects established by Adi Shankara. It is also supposed to be the oldest stone temple in Kanchipuram. It is a tiny temple that is so complete in itself.
Iravathaneswara Temple
Iravathaneswara & Piravathaneswara Temples
These are the two smallest possible stone temples almost standing in front of each other. Though now the main road passes between them. When I visited, both the temples were closed. From what it looked like they always remain closed. Then, a bit of inquiry told me that they are opened only for performing birth and death rituals.
Yama Temple
This is actually a small Shiva temple close to M M Hotel. The name it seems has got distorted over time and people call it Yama temple. These small temples tell you the story of small communities that would have existed in the temple town.
Durga sculpture at Airavateshwara Temple
Airatvateshwara Temple
It is a small temple located close to Kachhapeshwar temple. As the name suggests this temple is believed to be built by Indra.
Vilakoli Temple Tank
Arulmigu Sri Vilakoli Perumal Temple
A fairly large temple dedicated to Vishnu with an intriguingly shaped temple tank.
Sri Muktheeswarar Temple
On Gandhi Road – This is a mid-sized Shiva temple where you see the image of the devotee Thonda Nayanar bending on the Shivalinga here. There are many big and small shrines in this complex.
Sarv Teertham Kulam
Sarva Teertham Kulam
This is a huge square tank with steps painted in alternate white and red stripes. All around it, there are smaller temples like Seeteswarar, Mallikarujeswarar, Kashi Vishwanath Temple and Hanumanteswarar Temple. The tank looks beautiful from a distance. But, unfortunately, it is badly maintained and has a lot of filth all around.
I wish the authorities clean up the place. This could be such a beautiful place for the locals as well as pilgrims to visit.
Other Temples in Vishnu Kanchi
Punyakoteeswara Koil – A small Shiva temple with a narrow moat around the sanctum, closer to Varadharaja Perumal temple in Vishnu Kanchi.
Vyaseswarar & Vasishteswarar Temple – In the lanes of Vishnu Kanchi, these two temples located close to each other with large temple tanks lying dry commemorate the two Rishis – Vyasa and Vasishtha.
Ashtbhuja Perumal Temple – This is the second most popular temple in Vishnu Kanchi, located on the main road. The presiding deity Perumal or Vishnu has 8 arms earning it the name Ashtbhuja Perumal temple.
Yathortkari Perumal Temple – Located not too far from Ashtabhuja Perumal temple, it is an old temple that was undergoing renovation when I visited it.
See this complete list of ASI Temples in the town.
Kanchi Kamkoti Mutt
Kanchi is a seat of Shankaracharya. The Kanchi Kamakoti Mutt is located in the heart of the city. It is believed that Adi Shankaracharya spent his last days in Kanchi. It is the fifth Mutt established by him after Badri, Puri, Dwarka, and Sringeri. His samadhi can be seen in the Kamakshi temple complex.
Kanchi Kamkoti Mutt Kacheri
On the walls of Kanchi Mutt, you can read all about Adi Shankaracharya and the lineage of Kanchi Mutt Shankaracharyas. All the charitable work they are doing across India.
Kanchi Mutt is the center for spiritual life in Kanchipuram. People come here to meet the current present Shankaracharya Ji. They wait for hours to get a glimpse of him or to watch him perform the Arti. Some of them get to talk to him. I was one of those blessed ones.
Simple & Wholesome food at Kanchi Mutt
I came back with the blessings of Shankaracharya Ji along with many books to read on the city from Kanchi Mutt.
Your visit to the town is incomplete without a visit to Kanchi Mutt. Temples belong to different eras but Kanchi Mutt is the living soul of the city. I am also told that they hold regular Kacheris or musical concerts, that you can sit and enjoy. Among the must-visit places in Kanchipuram.
Sri Chandrasekharendra Saraswathi Viswa Mahavidyalaya
Sri Chakra shaped International library at Shankaracharya University
This is a university located a bit away from the city. I visited it to see its international library that has a great collection of Indian scriptures. And also to meet one of the professors who helped me understand the sacred geography of Kanchipuram. I was pleasantly surprised to see its library building built in the shape of Sri Chakra.
After ages I had lunch in the student canteen, chatting with the students there. It was fun.
Jain Temples
Trilikyanatha Jain Temple
There are two main Jain temples located close to each other here at Thirupparuthikundram. These are Trilokyanath Temple and Chandraprabha Temple.
Trilokyanatha Temple is an ASI temple, but the keys are with an old lady. The temple is opened or closed at her whims and fancies. When I visited, thankfully it was open and I could spend some time there. My repeated requests could not convince the lady to open the second time though.
Jain Mandala
This early 9th CE temple built during the Pallava period has typical Dravidian architecture. The mandapa was added in 14th CE and the paintings were done in the 17th CE. The chief deity is Mahavir or the 24th Tirthankar. Other Tirthankaras can be seen in the rest of the temple.
Jain Temple Murals
It has the most beautiful Jain paintings that you can see. Thankfully they are well maintained. You can see the various mandalas representing the universe on the ceiling of the mandapa supported by colorful pillars. I wish someone could explain these finer nuances of Jain philosophy to the visitors. The geometric designs are intriguing. But then, I know the sculptures and paintings in temples of India are for the one who knows them. Not really meant for a casual visitor.
Do read – Jain Kashi in Moodbidri in Karnataka
I am not sure how many people visit this temple. For me, the paintings in the temple are definitely worth a visit.
Buddha Image
Buddha Statue in Kanchi
Although Huan Tsang has mentioned Kanchipuram with many Buddhist monasteries, there is not much that you find in the city today. Except, a lovely Buddha image that was discovered a few years back. It is now housed on the premises of a school near Kanchi Kamakshi temple.
I spent a good hour or so combing the streets of the town to locate this image.
Other Temples – Places to visit near Kanchipuram
Sanjeevi Raya Anjaneya Temple in Iyengarkulam
This is a large Anjaneya temple on the banks of what must have been a huge lake. With a large mandapam, this temple is a delight to visit. The story goes that when Hanuman was taking the Sanjeevani Booti from the Himalayas to Sri Lanka, a part of the mountain fell through his fingers here. Hence the name – Sanjeevi Raya.
Sanjeevi Raya Anjaneya Temple
It was one of the most peaceful temples I visited in the town. There were not many people visiting the temple, yet it was a very alive temple. There is a lovely amphitheater-like setting near the temple tank. I wonder if it was once a place for festivals and celebrations.
Once a year, on Chaitra Purnima, Varadaraja Perumal comes to this temple. And takes bath in the Nata Bhavi Stepwell. There is a platform where his visiting Utsav Murti is kept.
One more must-see places to visit in Kanchipuram.
Nata Bhavi Stepwell
Nata Bhavi Stepwell
A little away from Sanjeevi Raya Temple is a lovely stepwell in stone. An arch with Gajalakshmi on its top welcomes you to the stepwell.
Long and narrow stone stepwell
This long and narrow stepwell in grey stone looks like a cousin of step wells we see across Gujarat and Rajasthan. There are pavilions on the lower floors. They may have been used to beat the summer heat once upon a time. As of now the access to lower floors is closed.
Kanchi Kudil
Kanchi Kudil
Located close to Kailasanathar temple, this is an old Kanchi home now converted into a museum. You can see the Kanchi culture here with the kolams on red oxide floors. Golu dolls for Navaratri on display. Old utensils, wooden furniture including a lovely swing, etc.
I loved the different Kolam designs on the floor, almost like an archive there.
With prior appointment, you can even treat yourself to a local meal here.
Government Museum
Wooden sculpture at Government Museum
It is a small museum, still stuck in the time it may have been built. There are some artifacts like wooden sculptures that you can see. But mostly it is a generic museum. You will not miss much if you skip it.
What to eat?
You get all possible Tamil cuisine in the town. There are a couple of Saravana Bhavan outlets, where you can blindly go and eat. Shakti Ganapathy and Sri Ram Café are other popular outlets in the town.
Kanchipuram Idli
I recommend eating a meal at the Kanchi Mutt – it is a blessing.
Apart from this, two things you must try there are:
Kanchipuram Idli – it is a slightly drier and harder form of Idli with many lentils in it. It may take you a while to get used to the taste of it. But you cannot ignore trying Kanchi Idli in the town.
Sevai Idli
Sevai Idli – you get this Idli with noodle-like Sevai in it. You can get it in small shops in the evenings.
How to reach?
Kolam designs at Kanchi Kudil
The place is well connected by rail and road. It is about 75 km from Chennai city, which is also the closest airport. I took an Ola Cab from Chennai to reach the town.
GRT Regency is the best hotel to stay in the town. I hope more hotels come up in the city for people to stay.
Most people do a day trip from Chennai to this place. I suggest spending 2-3 stays to explore it properly.
Autos are easily available to move around in the city.
From Google Maps, it seems easy to walk place. But in practice, it is not. The place is very hot and humid. There are no footpaths to walk.
Do share your experience of the places to visit in Kanchipuram.

Hey!
1st of all to clarify(ik it sounds like yk defensive mode on but trust me it isn't), I love your incorrect myths posts except for some of the views cause yk humans- always biased in favor of something,
so anyway,
just wanted to ask genuinely why are you counting Indra as a bigg friend of vishnu and shiva. I don't understand that. Is there any specific reason behind it? Like in our texts? I don't know and I just want to know. I hope you understand. Little, Serious ask but yea Tis what it is.
Other than that yea lovely blog, especially those posts bout Dashratha' sons✨.
I think we all fail to understand how big, powerful and important Indra is as a deity. He's the patron of musicians and dancers and arts. He's the God who waters the crops, he is the one who maintains the celestial bodies and is the one who maintains law and order in the court of the immortals. His elephant is literally the king of elephants. And his weapon is one of the three most powerful weapons in Hindu cosmos. Aka Vishnu's Sudarshan, Shiva's Trishul and third being Indra's Vajra. He defeated demons and saved the realms. He's just as powerful and mighty as Vishnu and Shiva.
So i dont see the reason why the King of the Gods won't be friends with the two literal Gods who are responsible for the correct working of the universe. I mean, Brahma's work ends after the creation of the cosmos. And that's when Shiva and Vishnu's work starts, to maintain the said cosmos. And who's the king of the said cosmos? It's none other than Devraj Indra.
There's no texts specifying they are friends. But we are welcome to speculate. There aren't any texts of Vayu, Varun, Agni, Mitra etc being friends but ik FOR SURE they are besties.
It's the way you study and comprehend the Gods. If you don't see the relation, then it's fine. I am not forcing Shiva x Vishnu x Indra on anybody.

The Strength of Love: Chapter 4: Visits and a New Face
-It had been almost a week since their first visit to Usagi’s house, and since that day, she’s had multiple visitors, if she was home.
-When she’s out training, Usagi will put one of two signs on her front door, one that says ‘dojo’ and one that says ‘mountain’, which tells anyone who comes to her house where she is.
-Usagi wasn’t sure what to make of these ten gods who were constantly seeking her out, meeting her at the dojo, at her home, and even catching her while she was walking from one place to the next; the only place they haven’t sought her out at was her mountain training grounds.
-Their insistence to come around made Usagi uneasy, she was unsure as to why, not understanding why, it wasn’t for Raiden, it was for her, because they always asked for her at the dojo, ‘What’s so special about me that keeps making them come back?’
-It was also the way they were approaching her that was confusing her, she had no issue sparring, as Shiva, Indra, and Rudra had all asked her for a match, wanting a challenge.
-It was when they approached her just to hang out, to ask her questions, that threw her for a loop.
-When Kali, Durga, and Parvati showed up to her home with a bag of self-care items, Kali smiling brightly, “Let’s do facial treatment and our nails, Usagi~”
-Usagi sat patiently, letting Parvati put the cream on her face while Durga was looking at her hands, “Wow! Your nails are really healthy looking!”
-Usagi gave them a small grin, flexing her hand a bit, “I try hard to take care of them, since they’re my weapons. It’s like taking care of a sword, if you don’t polish it and tend to it, it will break!” they were quick to understand the reasoning behind this.
-Kali was painting her nails while Parvati did Durga’s nails, “Your fingers are a bit thick; did you break them?” Kali didn’t mean it in a cruel way, but Usagi’s cheek did turn pink, looking away, “Yeah- if you break your bones when you’re young, they heal stronger.”
-The three women were instantly in Usagi’s face, all yelling at her in concern, “You willingly broke your fingers?!” “Are you okay? Any lasting damage?!” “What were you thinking, doing something so reckless?!”
-Usagi never had someone treat her like this, to most martial artist it was common knowledge, and most karate masters did the same thing. She had broken all of her fingers multiple times when she first started in karate, strengthening her bones.
-She felt a bit uneasy by their concern, looking away a bit embarrassed, “I… thank you for your concern. I’ve never had anyone… nobody’s ever reacted like this before.”
-They all froze, processing her words before they leaned back, looking a bit solemn now which made Usagi a bit frantic, worrying as she hadn’t meant to upset them, showing her kind heart.
-When Usagi washed off the facial cream, she was in awe, holding her cheeks, “It’s so smooth!” the other three woman giggled at her reaction, finding it amusing as they had all gone to her large bathroom to wash their faces.
-Parvati looked around, a bit confused, “Do you not have a bathtub?” Usagi, patting her face with a towel, nodded towards the other door in the room, “That leads to the onsen.” She opened the door, and their eyes went wide, seeing a mini private onsen, their eyes turning into sparkles as they turned back to Usagi.
-The taller woman giggled, “Most bathtubs don’t fit people my height, easily at least, so I invested in this quite a few years ago. It’s the best when it’s snowing, and I’ve got a jug of hot sake!”
-The three women shivered, having been victims to one too many of Raiden’s drinking parties, which made Usagi laugh warmly, and they couldn’t help but stare, seeing her joy.
-Agni was the next to visit her, catching Usagi on her way home from the mountain, her hair down and wet, calling out to her.
-She greeted him warmly, giving a polite smile as he caught up with her, “May I walk you home?” she was surprised by his question, but agreed.
-On the way Agni asked her simple questions, like her favorite food or favorite fruit, which surprised her, a bit curious as to why he wanted to know these things about her.
-She did answer each question, in turn asking them in return, to be polite, which made him smile warmly. He wasn’t really scary looking, to her anyway, as she had overheard some of the other rikishi saying he did look a bit alarming because he didn’t look human like many of the others.
-When they arrived at her home, Usagi invited him in for tea, as thanks for walking her home and he agreed, beaming brightly, before he forgot to duck, and his head smacked her doorframe.
-Agni did feel a bit embarrassed as he sat cross-legged, letting Usagi smooth a bandage over his forehead, as he had busted himself open, but did enjoy being doted on.
-Usagi did like seeing someone who was taller than her, besides her grandpa, as not many, at least in the Shinto pantheon, were as tall as her, as most Japanese men were usually on the shorter side, the same with women.
-Later that same day, Usagi was outside in her backyard, tending to her vegetable garden, when she heard someone call out her name and she turned, finding Brahma coming over.
-He was stoic looking, having a permanent resting bitch face, but Usagi wasn’t really bothered as he approached, seeing the basket of vegetables in her arms as she stood, greeting him with a polite bow.
-He looked at her garden behind her, “You’ve worked hard on this.” she smiled at his compliment, thanking him and he felt happy to see her smile as he came a bit closer, “I don’t recognize some of these vegetables, will you teach me.”
-Usagi knew Brahma as the creator god in Hindu religion, so his curiosity about something new was understandable, as he wanted to learn more.
-Usagi taught him about the vegetables and herbs she had growing in her garden, pointing out each one, kneeling down next to him while he was squatting.
-He surprised her by taking the basket when she stood, “I’ll carry this for you inside.” Her eyes were wide before she thanked him, offering to make him some tea as thanks which he agreed to. He was quiet compared to the other members of the Hindu pantheon, except for Vishnu and maybe Indra, but she didn’t mind, despite being quiet, he was good company.
-Rudra met Usagi the next morning at the dojo, greeting her warmly, “Would you like to spar with me?” and she agreed with a grin.
-They went to the outside sparring area, it was a little cool but pleasant, both were comfortable to be outside for the match.
-The two fighters started off a bit light, asking each other questions while exchanging blows and kicks, not taking each other too seriously, warming up.
-Rudra threw a harder punch, which Usagi caught easily, “Answer me this Usagi, did you find Shiva difficult to fight?”
-She surprised him by moving rapidly, leg sweeping him, but he backflipped, catching himself and springing back onto his feet, “I don’t know if difficult is the word I would use. He was fun to fight since I didn’t have to hold back.”
-Rudra caught one of her arms, grabbing it with two of his arms and tried to flip her but he cried out in shock as she easily picked him up, hauling him off the ground by the arm he was holding before throwing him in a judo throw, slamming him into the ground.
-He stared up at her in awe as she put her hands on her hips, grinning down at him before she offered him a hand, easily hauling him back up to his feet.
-He rubbed his upper left shoulder lightly, “Was that you holding back?” she grinned over at him, stunning him with her smile, “It was. If I wasn’t you’d probably be unconscious.” He laughed warmly, thinking she was joking, before realizing she was not.
-Loud laughter filled the air and the two turned, seeing Shiva walking over, punching his lower fists together, “Usagi~ can I have a turn now?” he was beaming up at her, little flowers appearing around him in glee.
-His enthusiasm to fight did throw Usagi off a bit, while Rudra was rolling his eyes, seeing Shiva not even trying to hide his affections for her.
-Just like before, Shiva didn’t start off too seriously, hopping around easily, dancing around Usagi, who was shocked when her strikes missed, hitting an after image.
-Shiva managed to get Usagi down to her knees, but she was quick to grab him by his neck, pinning him below her, but his legs wrapped around one of her arms and three of his arms grabbed her other arm, trying to flip her.
-Usagi breathed in deeply before standing up, holding Shiva up with ease, shocking both him and Rudra, their jaws both dropping as his arms let her one arm go, waving around to keep his balance before two of his hands grabbed her gi, holding himself up.
-She smiled up at him as he gawked down at her, shocked that she easily picked him up, “Do I even weigh anything to you?” she laughed warmly, stunning him before she grinned, “Like a sack a rice!” he pouted lightly, even more so when Rudra referred to him as Rice for the rest of the day.
-The following day was Usagi’s day off and she slept pretty late, well past nine and as she sat down to enjoy some hot tea to get going, “Usagi~ you home?”
-She wasn’t irritated with Varuna, who beamed up at her as she opened her front door for him, inviting him in, but she was beginning to feel a bit overwhelmed, if she had to use a word, with all the random visits.
-Varuna handed her a basket of persimmons, “Here this is for you! Raiden said they were in season and told me to share some with you.”
-Her eyes softened at the gift, “I think I have some dried ones too; I’ll make some tea and we can share these.” She missed the way his eyes sparkled, thinking he was just excited to have a snack.
-He ate a fresh one first then a dried one, his eyes turning into stars, “It’s the same fruit but it tastes totally different! It’s so much sweeter!!”
-Usagi smiled lightly at his reaction, thinking it was rather cute, “I made those ones last year, I prefer the ones that have been preserved more than the fresh ones. The hard work that goes into preparing them makes them much tastier!”
-Varuna gazed at her smile, entranced before he spoke, completely serious, “You look good when you smile, Usagi.” She started a bit, shocked at his words before her cheeks turned just a bit pink, looking away a bit bashfully, but saying nothing.
-Indra found Usagi the following day, holding a bag of groceries, some wrapped fish and vegetables she didn’t have growing in her garden.
-She was still wearing her gi, as she had finished training for the day and decided to shop on her way home, but Indra waved her down, calling out her name.
-She greeted him warmly, with a soft smile and he gave a small grin back, nodding towards the dojo, “You up for a match?” she glanced down to her groceries before she smiled, “If it’s a quick one, sure.”
-They went to the outdoor arena and Indra put out his cigarette and almost immediately charged at Usagi, who easily caught him, stunning him as she slammed him into the ground, “Fighting dirty I see~” he heard her tone, teasing him as they went back and forth for a while.
-A cawing bird then caught their attention after about ten minutes and Usagi’s eyes went wide, “My groceries!!” as a large crow flew off with her bag.
-Instantly she fell to her hands and knees, gloom surrounding her in anguish.
-Indra felt bad, scratching his cheek as he inadvertently caused this mess to happen, “C’mon Usagi, I’ll buy you new ones.” She was going to protest, but he heard nothing of it, having her take him to the places where she bought her groceries.
-She thanked him, once they were done shopping, giving him a warm, sincere smile, which made him stare from behind his bangs, before he gave her a soft nod and walked her home.
-Vishnu arrived home right as Usagi was finishing her dinner that same night, having prepared grilled salmon, rice, and tomato miso soup, something she had been craving.
-He was holding a bottle of nice plum wine, handing it to her, “This is for you, Raiden recommended it to me.” she thanked him before inviting him in, “I apologize but I don’t have enough fish for the both of us, but I have extra rice and soup, if you would like to join me.”
-He put his hand over his heart, bowing his head lightly, “Thank you for your hospitality.” Usagi wanted to ask him why they had all been visiting her so often, honestly feeling a bit drained as she set the food down before him as well as a mug of tea which he thanked her for.
-He watched her thank for the food and he spoke, “Why do you say thanks before each meal?” she smiled, swallowing her rice, “It’s to thank the hard work of everyone, the earth for growing the ingredients, the rivers and ocean for the fish, the farmers, fishermen, and butchers. We thank everyone and everything that goes into preparing our meals.”
-His eyes were wide at her explanation, not realizing how deep the meaning behind it actually was, before his eyes softened and he nodded, thanking her for the explanation.
-His hands moved to the back of his head and removed his mask, setting it on the table and Usagi’s eyes went a bit wide as his handsome face was revealed.
-She kept composed, as he wasn’t the first handsome man she had seen, her recent guests were all handsome in their own way, and beautiful in the case of Shiva’s wives.
-Usagi’s gaze fell just a bit, her eyes focusing on her rice, ‘They’re all so attractive… so why are they bothering with someone like me? Why are they all coming around so much?’
-After seeing Vishnu off, wishing him well after sharing some of the wine with him, she sighed softly, shoulders sagging before she lifted one of her hands to her opposite shoulder, rubbing gently as she dealt with the dishes before going to soak in her onsen.
-The following day, Usagi was surprised but also relieved when none of her guests sought her out, letting her have an alone day for once.
-She was enjoying her time at her mountain training grounds, where new boulders appear almost daily, due to magic, so she can punch them to rubble as she wishes, training her body.
-Usagi was lifting a large boulder above her head, throwing it into a pile to clear out her area when a voice spoke up, “Whoa- are you Usagi?!” she turned and was surprised to see a child with the head of an elephant.
-Despite having not met this child before, Usagi knew who this was, Ganesha, Parvati and Shiva’s son, as Parvati had shown the martial artist pictures of him during their self-care day.
-She turned with a smile as the child approached, “I am, and you’re Ganesha, right?”
-He beamed up at her, his hands on his hips, “That’s me! Papa was right- you are strong!!” she scratched her cheek, feeling a bit embarrassed by his words, but at the same time, his praise made her feel a little fluffy.
-The praise of children always made her feel happier compared to her peers, as she knows kids are brutally honest, but Usagi appreciates that honesty, “Did you come all the way up here on your own?” He beamed, proud of himself, “Mr. Raiden told me how to get here after I asked where you were.”
-Ganesha stayed to the side while Usagi trained, rattling off tons of questions, asking her about her fighting style, what it was like fighting his papa and his uncles, Rudra and Indra, and about the food she had prepared.
-Usagi took it all in stride, answering each of them, making Ganesha laugh when she easily picked him up to move him to another rock, picking him up easily, which made her grin.
-Once she was done she rinsed off under the waterfall and Ganesha laughed, splashing in the river, “It’s so cold!!” which made her giggle lightly.
-She offered him a hand, “Wanna head back to the dojo now?” he beamed, taking her hand, “Let’s go! Mama and papa should be wondering where I am.” She froze, turning white before she spoke, having to ask, “Did you come here without telling anyone?”
-He looked surprised by her question, like he didn’t understand it, “No I told Mr. Raiden when I told him I was going to come and find you!”
-Usagi paled, knowing her grandpa had the attention span of a fly if it had to do something other than fighting, eating, drinking, or Thrud, sighing softly, “Well let’s get back soon so they don’t worry.”
-As she expected, the dojo was in an uproar, everyone tearing the place apart looking for Ganesha, panicking.
-Usagi looked down at Ganesha with a smile, “I’m gonna yell, so cover your ears for a second, okay?” he beamed, nodding and did as she asked before she pulled her arms in tightly at her side, almost like she was going to punch something, tensing her abs before, “KNOCK IT OFF!!!!”
-Her voice carried through the dojo, stunning it into silence as the door to the main dojo slid open, revealing Usagi and Ganesha, safe and sound to everyone in attendance.
-While Parvati and Shiva checked over their son, Usagi was pouting up to her grandpa, “Ganesha said he told you where he was going! Why did you let the dojo get so worked up?!”
-Shiva turned, “WHAT?! YOU KNEW?! RAIDEN YOU BASTARD!!” before he charged at your grandfather, the two of them locked up in a fight while Usagi rolled her eyes at them.
-Parvati instantly relaxed, “If you were with Usagi, then I know you were safe.” Ganesha beamed as the three of them went to the wrap around patio as the other gods and the rikishi came out to watch the fight, “Usagi’s super strong mama! She picked me up so easily and broke boulders with her bare hands! Then we played under the waterfall! It was really cold!!”
-She giggled as Kali sat on the other side of Ganesha, with Parvati on his other side, Usagi next to her and Durga next to Usagi as his mother giggled, “I wondered why you were damp when I hugged you.”
-Ganesha then looked over at Usagi, “Hey-hey Usagi, so when are you gonna marry papa and the others?” the four women froze, turning to Ganesha, the three co-wives instantly flushing as they had been discussing it, the ten gods, about all of them marrying Usagi and he wanted to know too.
-Usagi was stunned, her eyes wide before she grinned, “I don’t know about marriage Ganesha. Marriage has never been a big thing in my life to fuss over.” The four looked at her, worried as her tone was a bit softer, sadder, before Durga spoke, “What do you mean Usagi?”
-The taller woman rubbed the back of her head, scratching lightly, “I’ve never been approached by a man before, unless if it was to fight. So, when it came to romance and relationships, I was the one that was always alone. Nobody I’ve ever met wants a woman twice their size who can break boulders with her bare hands and break log with her thighs.”
-Their eyes were sparkly, Kali beaming up, “You can do that with your thighs?!” Usagi blushed a bit, her cheeks turning a bit pink before she grinned, leaning her forearms on her knees, hunching over, “Yeah, was able to do it back on earth. But it’s stuff like that, that turns men away from pursuing me romantically. I’ve only had it happen once here in Valhalla, but it turned out to be a cruel prank.”
-Their eyes widened, Parvati’s eyes narrowing, “What did you just say?” Usagi looked a bit worried, as she hadn’t meant to upset her friends, but explained, looking out at the fight, “There was a man who approached me, asking me out on a date, even giving me flowers, saying he was attracted to me. I showed up to the date, dressed up with Thrud’s and Hlokk’s help, and he was there with his friends… they laughed so much at me so much that-that I… he said nobody would want a woman like me, nobody but a beast or a bear would- would want me...”
-They could only stare in horror at what they heard, listening without judging, hearing her voice crack a few times, breaking their hearts, hearing the torment she went through.
-Usagi was quick to hide her pain behind a bright smile, “It all ended well however, I was crying too much to be able to walk home without hurting myself or others, so I came to grandpa, and he said he would take care of it. I found out the next day he beat all of them up and broke the bastard’s spine who tricked me, putting him in the hospital and threatening to do worse if he ever treated me or any other woman like that again.”
-They gawked, a bit in shock before Kali smiled, “Raiden’s a good grandfather.” Usagi nodded, giving her a grin in agreement.
-Once the fight was over, everyone said their goodbyes and headed home; along the way to their home, Kali, Parvati, and Durga told the other seven gods, what happened to Usagi, which immediately infuriated most of them, hearing of the cruel treatment.
-Shiva punched his right hands into his left hands, “Sounds like an ass beating to me!” but his wives were able to keep him by their sides.
-Varuna then spoke, “That’s probably why she reacted in such a way when I flirted with her the other day, almost like she was uneasy with it.” Vishnu nodded in agreement, “Agreed, seems like all her past trauma and the incident with that lowlife did a number on her, she hasn’t really reacted to any of us in a romantic way, right?”
-Agreements went around, the Hindu gods quickly realizing that Usagi didn’t realize they had been flirting with her, courting her, she just thought they were being friendly since they were Raiden’s friends.
-With each moment spent with her, either as a group or on their own, they were quickly falling with this warrior woman, all of them wanting to know more and more about her, wanting to get closer to her.

India in Marvel
I've always been interested in what's happening in the Marvel world outside of the USA, where the majority of stories take place, specifically in the context of mutants since the X-Men is my series of interest. Playing a character (Haven) who is from Marvel's India makes me even more interested in India in particular. For others who might be interested here's what we know in canon about Marvel's India in relation to mutants and other superhumans: - The Pan-Asian School for the Unusually Gifted is a school for young mutants and other super-powered kids from all over Asia. It is located in Mumbai, focuses on information and technology, and is rumored to be funded by a cursed treasure. Its headmasters are Jimmy Woo and Sanjar Javeed. Jimmy Woo is a Chinese-American agent of SHIELD, while Sanjar Javeed was formerly one of Apocalypse's Horsemen (specifically Death) and the bastard son of historical Persian monarch Shapur II. - During Grant Morrison's New X-Men series, the X-Corps are shown to have a base in Mumbai. The X-Men stationed there are Sunfire, Warpath aka James Proudstar, Feral, and Thornn. None of them are Indian themselves and no Indian mutants are shown, which I think is kind of a major oversight. I mean, India is a populous place, there have to be mutants there. But we've only ever seen three mutants who originated from India, Monsoon aka Aloba Dastoor, Thunderbird aka Neal Shaara and Timeslip from the New Warriors aka Rina Patel, all of whom are very minor characters. I guess Haven could sort of count, even if she wasn't really a mutant (her powers came from her unborn mutant child) but she was super minor too . My point is, it's kinda weird to me that the Mumbai branch of X-Corps doesn't have anyone even from that country on the squad.
- The Hindu pantheon, like the Norse/Asgardian, Greco-Roman, and Ancient Egyptian pantheons, is canonically “real” in the Marvel universe. Brahma, Vishnu, Shiva, and Indra have all appeared in The Mighty Thor comics. The Hindu god of war, Skanda, also appears in GeNext, a future AU comic by Chris Claremont featuring the children of the X-Men. - On Earth-41001 (the universe in which “X-Men: The End” and “GeNext” take place in) we are shown that India has a great many superheroes, with a massive headquarters in Mumbai. It is stated that many of the heroes and villains alike in India take names from the Hindu pantheon, such as the heroine Sati and villainess Kali. It is also shown that some of these superheroes are not just named after gods, they're the real deal, such as the aforementioned Skanda, the Hindu god of war who is stated to be “as real a god as Thor”, and that there is a realm where the Hindu gods dwell (rather like the Norse gods dwelling in Asgard)
