Afternoon Indoor Toilette, circa 1895-1897.
This gown is made of chinchilla gray cashmere, the ruffles being embroidered with a small scallop in gray silk and a narrow edging of white silk and gold thread. Over the ruffle, at the hem of the close-fitting skirt, are sewn three rows of black velvet ribbon, giving the effect of a drop skirt. Velvet ribbon trimming gives the basque the appearance of a jacket with vest and revers. Four rows of embroidered ruffles are arranged like a fichu and fall over the shoulder of the narrow sleeve. The latter has an incision at the wrist which is filled out with a ruffle of the same dainty lace, which forms the jabot and ruffle in the black velvet standing collar. A black velvet bow is at the bust and a smaller one is at the throat. The collar has small ribbon loops forming tabs around the edge.

Queen Charlotte (1744-1818) with her two Eldest Sons
Artist: Johan Joseph Zoffany (German, 1733-1810)
Date: 1764
Medium: Oil on canvas
Collection: Royal Collection Trust, United Kingdom
Description
This painting shows the Princes appearing only fractionally older than the painting of George, Prince of Wales and Frederick, later Duke of York at Buckingham House (Royal Collection), suggesting that both works must have been on the artist’s easel simultaneously. This might explain why the head of the Queen here and in the portrait on the wall of the other painting follow the same pattern. The setting here is also Buckingham House, but this time the King’s apartments on the ground floor garden façade; these were less redecorated and therefore preserved more of the character of the 1702-5 building campaign and can be seen in an anonymous view of the rear of the house painted at this time.
Zoffany has placed the Queen’s dressing table directly in front of the back door at the centre of the garden façade — the glimpse of formal garden, the height of the aperture and the fenestration of the rooms visible beyond admit of no other explanation. This is clearly a very unlikely position for a dressing table, and suggests either that the Queen was temporarily occupying these rooms while her apartments above were being redecorated or that Zoffany has stage-managed the scene in order to achieve the effect of vistas opening in every direction.

Corinne and I want to get into fragrances so we got some sample ones and I really wanted to try secretions magnifiques from etat libre d'orange (the one that people say smells like cum) so we got that as one. Corinne tried it on and so far has described it as smelling like "a baby born in a tidepool," "mermaid breastmilk," "feminine but only if all the women you know are evil," and "sucking off Jeremy fragrance but he just got out of the ocean"

Just for fun, I drew what he might be expected to wear if he ever finds reason to put on his formal attire again... (it's been left for years to get incredibly dusty). He'd find it very awkward and wants the indoor moping gown back ASAP
