sukuna x you, his favorite servant.
Tumblr media
everyone knew you were his favorite. from the way he'd give you the least labor intensive tasks, he'd dress you in expensive silks, he'd feed you better than all the others even giving you you're own seat as his coveted table, it's obvious that he truely cared for you.
he'd even switched your room to one closer to his, lest he'd need assistance in the night. he started to only allow you to do certain tasks, such as bathing him after he dealt with 'nuisances' as he called them. you'd soon end up the only servant allowed into his room, the others only being allowed to speak from his doorway, ones that got too close got their heads sliced off promptly.
because of this, the servants themselves would treat you as if you were nothing. they'd shove past you in the halls, ignore your requests in hopes you'd get reprimanded by sukuna, and sometimes they'd leave you bruised and bloodied, taking their frustrations of this unfair treatment out on you.
as sukuna roamed his halls one day, he happened to to overhear the other servants in their chambers. he overheard the disdain they regarded you with, the hatred in their words as they called you nothing but a whore, lower than a concubine since he didn't grant you even that title, they mocked.
in his rage, he slammed the door open, making each of them drop to their knees and bow for forgiveness. but forgiveness fled them, while death graced them openly. he killed every last one of his servants. as the final body dropped to the ground, he felt confused. he let uraume clean the mess, not wanting you to witness that amount of carnage. but even that though confused him further. why did he care for you so? you were just a servant, someone beneath him, so why did their disrespect towards you anger him?
these thoughts ran through his mind as he made his way back to his bedroom, where you laid on his bed per his request. it was already late at night, and now he was covered in blood all over again.
"bathe me." as you regarded him with a bow, you prepared a bath for him. the act of you scrubbing blood of his naked chest wasn't a new one, but the way he eyed your every move wasn't normal.
"why do you interest me so?" he said, moving one of his arms up to your neck, his finger a moment away from slicing your throat. "you're so fragile, i could kill you..
yet it'd upset me." those words shocked you more than the threat of death. you stayed silent, not daring to ask if what he was implying was true.
he looked you in your eyes. "i'm relieving you of your servant duties, you will stay with me."
"thank you, thank you." you replied, surprised at his sudden graciousness.
"would that.. make you happy?" he asked suddenly, moving his hand away from your throat, and now holding yours. "i feel that i've started to value your happiness."
"yes, yes it would. thank you my lord." as you finished up bathing him, he carried you as if you weighed nothing and laid you back onto his bed. it was odd though, there'd normally be a concubine around now, to satisfy his needs after his bath.
"should, should i call someone my lord?" at this, he laughed at your naive nature.
"who would you call? they're all dead." he didn't know why, but at your face of slight horror, he didn't feel the satisfaction he thought he would. "does that upset you? they treated you horribly, did they not?"
"they.. they did.. but-"
"but what? you need not concern yourself with the feelings of the dead." he was a bit upset, wanting you to be appreciative of his actions. "do you believe my judgment is incorrect?" he said, putting the finger of one of his hands under your chin, pointing your face towards him.
"no, my lord.. thank you." she let out a soft smile, one that undoubtedly increased his heart beat.
"you're welcome, but.. for the inconvenience of having all my servants and concubines dead, what will you offer me?"
he laughed at your worried face, and with a hand waved it off.
"it was only a joke, you're here now. so,
your body will do to satisfy me quite nicely."

First Impressions
An: Two weeks of writer's block and watching The Faculty ad nauseum here we are. If dealing with an injury has taught me one thing in life, you get really sick of talking about it.
Pairing: Jack Abbot x f!Reader
Warnings: Some description of a broken bone and treatment, extremely vague description of a car accident at the beginning, probably some incorrect medical treatment, no use of y/n, no beta so forgive me
Summary: Reader gets saved by a poor doctor just trying to go home and sleep. This can be read as the prequal to We've Got This as how Jack and reader met, but can also be read as a stand alone.
Word Count: 4k
Tumblr media
One of the shittiest things about working nights meant that the world expected you to operate on an eight to five like everyone else. Which meant that when Jack had to handle anything he either had to hold off on sleeping and stop on the way home, which wasn’t the worst option. Today however he had to be up at noon to make an appointment. Which meant getting a nap in at home, waking up and dragging himself out and then trying to get more sleep before his shift tonight.
He was awake enough but the pouring rain made the street dark and the sound of raindrops hitting the pavement was working in favor of him actually collapsing when he got home. He stood watching traffic flow by as he waited for the signal to cross. He didn’t pay any mind to anyone around him. That was until the light changed, and someone stepped out into the road past him. He didn’t think, didn’t have time to think as he watched the can run the red light.
He pulled you back the scruff of the neck, avoiding actually getting run over by what seemed like inches. You looked up at him wide eyed, then back at your ankle, twisted at an unnatural angle. Shit.
Jack helped you more solidly back onto the curb further out of traffic. “Hey I’m going to call you a ride to the hospital, okay?” He was in doctor mode, kneeling beside you as some of the worst pain of your life ripped through your leg, but you managed a nod as your brian dumbly caught up to the insanity happening.
“I am just going to step over there. I’m not going anywhere okay?” He pointed over your shoulder and you nodded dumbly again. He kept you in his line of sight the entire time he was on the phone, watching you gaze around unfocused at the slowing cars and scattered pedestrians.
He was on the phone with 911 as soon as he was just out of ears reach, or at least as much as he was comfortable leaving you. He relayed what he could remember of the car that had just hit and run and exactly where you were for the ambulance crew.
After he hung up he took another breath, his own adrenaline had spiked and he knew he couldn’t afford to crash before the medics picked you up. Jack ran a hand over his face and returned to your side. “They’re on the way, I’ll be here until they are. Cops will probably show too, all things considered.”
You didn’t respond this time, eyes locked onto the misshapen ankle, he leaned in, forcing you to look him in the eye. “Keep breathing for me okay.”
You took a slow shaky breath forcing yourself to look away from the twisted joint where your perfectly normal ankle had been only a few moments before. Your eyes instead focused on him, rain pouring over his face, matting the salt and pepper hair to his forehead. Amber eyes watching your face carefully as a hand rested on your knee. Your confused brain was searching for the right word to describe him when he spoke again.
“You are probably in shock right now. But once that clears you are going to be in a lot of pain.” He said gently, keeping his eyes locked on yours, his expression soft. “But you and me, we’ve got this. Alright? Medics should be here soon and the cops shouldn’t be far behind.”
As if on cue an ambulance cruised around the corner, the wailing triggering something in your brain that this was real, you were just hit by a car. And that’s when you first became aware that you were in pain. It wasn’t awful at first, this stabbing wrongness that made you freeze. Like your entire body had cracked and was about to break.
Whatever was said to the medics was lost on you, shorthand that your still slow to respond brain was not processing correctly, it all sounded so technical. As you tried to make sense of the conversation happening around you you became even more aware of the pain. Everything was suddenly too sharp,  the sidewalk behind you digging into scuffed hands.
“Hey. I have to go talk to the cops, they’ll probably meet you at the hospital too.” The stranger was kneeling next to you again, his tone softening as he switched his focus. “They’re going to have to move you, and that’s probably going to hurt like hell. But they’re going to make sure you’re taken care of from here. You’re in great hands, but good luck anyways.”
He clasped your shoulder for just a moment but the connection grounded you.  You were going to be fine. You had to say something, at least a thank you, the man had probably saved you from something much, much worse than a broken bone.
But as you opened your mouth to speak the team moved in to lift you. A soft warning came from behind you and the second they braced you to move a stabbing, broken pain washed over you. You could only describe it as glass that had shattered in the joint and was being ground into it every time you moved.
By the time you were seated in the back of the ambulance the man was engrossed in a conversation down the road with officers. And with the pain of movement you hadn't even been able to get a goddamn thank you out. You had just stared at him like an idiot. You focused through the pain, watching him disappear out the back doors of the ambulance as you slid away from the scene.
You really didn’t remember much of the ride to the hospital, no longer in any pain and adrenaline still flowing through your body as you cruised smoothly through the city streets. The whole thing still felt so unreal, almost like a movie.
“So you were clipped?” One of the medics broke the silence as you rode.
“I think I must have been, I didn’t land on it when I fell, but I don’t remember it happening.” You glanced over at her as you answered, tired of looking at the lump under the blanket.
“You are lucky, I’ve seen plenty of accidents like yours end much worse.”
You were mildly disappointed that you were taking this ride alone. It was going to be a pain getting a hold of anyone to keep you company in the middle of the afternoon. And on top of that a bitterness lingered about not being able to thank your savoir for grabbing you, and staying to help, you had no idea how long you would have sat there frozen if he hadn’t kept you at least a little grounded.
When you arrived at the trauma center you were a little surprised to have people on you almost as soon as you were through the door. A flurry of movement and activity as the paramedics handed you over. The flood of questions as you were moved to a room and transferred to a proper hospital bed, another jolt of pain rocking up your body.
Once you were moved the activity seemed to slow, the medics wished you luck and were back outside in what felt like seconds. You supposed that they had more pressing issues than you and your stupid broken ankle.
“Good afternoon, I'm doctor Robby. I'll be taking care of you today” One of the people who had lingered spoke at your bedside. “We heard you were hit in a crosswalk?”
You weren't sure how many times you could handle answering that question  “Yes and I hear that I'm lucky.” You were trying to your voice even but between actually being in pain and the repetition your patience was wearing thin.
“And I'm sure you're getting sick of hearing it. We're just going to take a quick look and do what we can to make you comfortable.” He nodded over your shoulder.
The stabbing grinding pain that had only been growing slowly faded into nothing. Once you felt your body relax properly into the bed the sheet you vaguely recall being placed over you was removed. Once again forcing you to look at the twisted mess that was once a normal ankle joint.
“Well based on what we're seeing it's safe to say your ankle is broken. We'll get you on some pain medication and make you comfortable. Then we'll get you sent up for trays to see if you'll need surgery.” Robby stepped back, letting the blanket fall just past your knee once more. “Any questions for me right now?”
You paused for a moment before saying something stupid. “There was a guy who helped me. I think he had to be a doctor or something. He just seemed to know what to do. I don't know, could he work here maybe? I just want to be able to thank him.” It came out as a rush, the regret pushing through everything else that bubbled just beneath the surface still.
“We can check. If you can pass along anything you can think of about this good samaritan and we will see if he’s one of ours.” He gave you a little smile and backed out of the room again.
It wasn’t too long after that one of the nurses came in to get your description, which was admittedly terrible. You could remember bits and pieces but not how tall he was or anything that might set him apart from any other greying man with brown eyes in Pittsburgh.
Still she took you at your word and promised to check around the other departments and would keep you updated on what she found out. You didn’t let yourself get your hopes up in actually finding him. Hospitals were huge and this wasn’t the only one in the area that he could work at. If you were even right.
As predicted it wasn’t long after that police arrived which effectively kept you occupied in the room for the next thirty minutes while you waited in line for x-rays and consults. And while you retold as much of the story as you could recall of the pain colored afternoon. A vague description of a car in the rain was not much to go on but the pair left you with next steps and contact information.
And while you retold the story the rumor mill of the hospital circulated the description you gave, and it was becoming clear that maybe, just maybe you had gotten lucky a second time today and would be granted a runion with your savior.
As the clock ticked ever onwards and you were ushered around you did finally get on the books for a surgery, then rescheduled after a more severe trauma rolled in shortly before you were scheduled. Assuming nothing moved you down the list again.
By the time shift change came around it was getting difficult to get some of the day shift not to stare as their backups began to roll in. People lingered around central before being shooed away in time for Jack himself to make his appearance, looking tired and bordering on late by his standards.
“There is our resident hero. Or would it be attending hero” Dana leaned in towards him conspiratorially. Jack stopped in front of her, eyebrows raised, but still half facing the direction he was walking.
“Your save this afternoon, the girl who almost got hit? We’ve been hearing about you since she got here.” The knowing smile forced a break in eye contact, he looked anywhere else on the floor but at her.
“Does she even know I work here?” He scoffed, turning his attention to her again.
“And ruin the surprise reunion?” She scoffed back, raising an eyebrow at him. “Not often we get actual good news around here you know?”
Almost as if on cue Robby emerged from a room pulling the curtain behind him. Hardly keeping a straight face as he approached. “I’m about ready to hand off a handful of these to you if you are. I have been staying way too late recently.” He looked like it as well, circles under his eyes and the invisible weight of fatigue.
“Then let’s get this shift turned over.” Jack clapped him on the back and let Rbby steer them away towards the patient rooms.  He wasn't surprised that thirty minutes later they landed at the room he had left when he first arrived for his shift.
“We're just waiting on surgery, should be going up in less than an hour unless we get bumped again.” Robby pulled the curtain aside once more. “I am at the end of my shift but Doctor Abbot here” he clapped a hand on the other man’s shoulder “will take fantastic care of you until your surgery.”
Your face lit up the second the realization hit you. This was him. And after an entire afternoon of sitting mostly alone you hadn't come up with the right thing to say. You didn’t know if there was a right way to thank someone you just met for saving your life.
“Glad to see you were in good hands, I was worried you’d wind up at Presby.” You were a little surprised to hear him speak first, watching him share a knowing look with the other man. It was almost a little weird not seeing him in damage control, though you supposed how he handled you after the accident wasn’t how he always carried himself.
“It’s been the best post car accident treatment I’ve had so far.” You shrugged, and that got an actual smile.
“I’ll come check on you again in a little bit, at the very least I’ll stop by before they take you up for surgery.” He folded his arms over his chest, you caught yourself tracking the movement and immediately looked anywhere else.
“Thank you, for” you paused, trying in vain to come up with something with enough weight “everything.” Your eyes lingered on your injured leg, you could feel yourself blush under the bright lights of the room. “I don’t even know if I can thank you enough Doctor Abbot.”
“Just glad I was able to help.” He paused, looked like he was going to say something else but changed his mind. “I’ll come around when I have a second, make sure they don’t move you around again. No offense but we could probably use the bed down here more than they’ll need it upstairs.” He offered a dry smile at his last comment and when you didn’t protest bowed out of the room.
True to his word he did come in to check on you and give you an update once he was sure the team would actually be able to take you this time around. “So they should be down in ten to fifteen minutes. They’re going to go over all the finer points of what to expect and if you would like I can run up there once you’re recovered, make sure you’re doing alright.” He said it all very matter of fact, how you expected an emergency room doctor to. He did break eye contact when he offered to visit however, just for an instant before refocusing on you.
“Aren’t you working?” You sat up as straight as you could in the bed, adjusting against the pillow.
“Already cleared it with another doctor on shift, he’ll call me if he needs anything and I’ll be an elevator ride away.” He hesitated before adding “If you want me there.”
“I do.” You didn’t even have to really think about it. And that was a little crazy, you had known the man for maybe eight hours and that was a stretch, knew of him was more accurate.
But you did want him there, waking up alone would be too much and the idea of having to sit and hear the same questions from your friends that you had been answering since the accident was too much for a day. Not to mention making them sit and wait for who knew how long. A nurse had called home for you and knew to come by in the morning, so tonight you would have been alone.
“Then good luck and I will see you soon.” He backed out of the tiny room once more headed back to central. You almost missed the ghost of a smile on his face as he ducked out of the room. You would have if you weren't watching him so intently.
It was never ending in the ER and just five minutes to himself a night was a miracle. Tonight was no exception, he hadn't even really realized that they had taken you up until the room was filled again. And Jack wasn't sure why he was so relieved that you had wanted him upstairs. He just wanted to make sure you were okay. That the last of this fucked up situation was behind the pair of you.
Though he was pretty sure he had managed to keep him professional, it had been the highlight of the night so far watching you smile when he walked in with Robby. The too bright lights making your eyes seem to sparkle.
He groaned, his head in hands at the computer. He was getting too damn old and especially for the way you had him just a little off balance now that you were actually back to yourself. He had done this before, and he really wasn't sure it was even a good idea to try again. Especially with you.
And that wasn't something personal. It was the logical part of his head screaming at him that a random woman he met through a car accident was not the best place to start if he even wanted to try meeting people again. Which wasn’t even something he had fully considered if he was honest with himself.
But here he was, watching the clock, something he swore that he wouldn’t do at work. Watching the seconds pass when he could, he caught himself checking his watch. He told himself it was because he was invested. It was because he was the one that pulled you back, that he was the one who had waited with you. That was all. For all the good it did him, he was still checking the time every chance he got.
When finally, mercifully the phone rang with an update that everything went fine he took the breath he was unaware he was holding. The odds of something going wrong was slim, especially with the team they had up there. But slim odds were still odds, and knowing just how wrong things could have gone.
The next few hours passed much quicker. Slipping into the usual rhythm, losing himself to the medicine and the patients who still actually needed him. He was walking out of a room when the second call came, you were awake.
Shen thankfully appeared at central less than five minutes later while he was working on charts. “Hey, I just got the call. That surgery I was waiting on is waking up. I’ll get these notes updated and if you’re good to cover still I’ll head up. It shouldn’t be more than a few minutes.”
“No sweat, I can cover for as long as you need on this one.” There was something a little too knowing in the way he looked at him. Jack chose to ignore that, turning back to the screen in front of him.
The ride up felt like seconds, and a little unfamiliar. He had been to this floor but hadn’t come to see anyone in recovery in recent memory. He stopped at the nurse’s station and was led to the room they had set you up in.
“Doctor Abbot, You came!” The raw excitement in your voice when you saw him was enough to make anyone a little weak.
“I said I would. And since you are technically not my patient right now, Jack is fine.” He planted himself in the chair beside your bed leaning in towards you as he spoke. Those intense brown eyes watching you examining him, even if they were still a little unfocused. “How was it?”
“Oh so good, they even operated on the right leg.” You pulled the blanket up clumsily to show him your wrapped leg. “They said I did great by the way.” You said it so smugly, like you had operated on the thing yourself.
And that got him hell knows why, but his head fell into his hands as barely suppressed laughter rocked his shoulders. Trying his best not to actually laugh at you outright. But for all the tension he had felt since the accident this afternoon it was finally over. It felt light in the tiny space you were sharing for this stolen moment.
“That’s great. I’m glad you pulled through this mess.” He sighed, staying there for a moment when the laughter ebbed away. “What a fucking day.” He leaned back, letting his head fall against the wall, eyes closing just for a second.
“You’re telling me. Almost getting hit by a car was pretty far down on my list of bad shit that could happen today.” He scoffed at that, glancing over to catch your smile widden before resting his eyes again.
When he didn’t cut you off you took a breath and contunited. “So I’ve been thinking about how to thank you, and you can say no, but I was hoping that I could maybe buy you a beer sometime soon?” There was a tiny bit of hope in that question, and a lot of embarrassment. “Or a coffee or whatever”
Jack leaned back up in the chair, amber eyes fully focused on yours, slightly less focused but still locked in. “You don’t have to.” His voice was softer again, like it had been at the scene and that didn’t feel like a good sign.
“But I want to. I get if you wouldn’t be comfortable or interested, but I owe you.” You softened as you looked at him; it was like every edge of the day faded as you sat focused solely on each other. Every fucked detail of your afternoon fading in the warmth of his gaze.
“I would like that.” He didn’t look away, a small smile played across his features, softening him just a little as well. “That is once you can actually get around on your own.” He broke eye contact to look at your leg once more.
“I’ll give you my number before you go back then. Or I can give you my pho-” You started to speak and the memory of it shattered in the street caught up to you. “My phone that I no longer have.”
“And I think I left everything back downstairs.” He sighed, leaning up in the chair to check his pockets.
“I might have a pen or something in my bag” You motioned to the chair beside him. He handed it to you, and of course no paper. “Can I write it on your arm or something?”
And reluctantly let he you, he let you partly because he wanted to touch you outside of the medical sense, to have one tiny intimate moment with you. And in part because he wanted a reminder that you wanted to talk to him, were actually almost institing on it.
“Thank you again. I promise to avoid getting hit by any more cars until I can buy you that drink” You gave him another smile as he scanned the small ink scribble on his arm.
“I’ll hold you to that.” And he gave you that damn smile again as he pulled the curtain behind him ready to lose himself in work.
Before the elevators opened again he pulled a sleeve over the careful pen marks on his arm. He would hear enough about saving you until something more noteworthy happened, he really wasn’t in the mood to fuel that fire.

My issue with how Naruto is portrayed as hokage in Boruto, and subsequently the treatment of the surviving Uchiha (Sasuke and Sarada) in Boruto, is that it undermines the political messaging of Naruto completely.
So Naruto (the character) agrees with Nagato and Sasuke regarding the abuse they faced and the need for an overhaul of Shinobi society. This is not where he disagrees with them. Naruto (the character) is the closest thing the manga has to a pacifist (though he's a poor representation of one, I'm not going to harp on that too hard as I'm not expecting the shonen manga to get too deep into leftist political theory for its audience of 12 year olds). He is not shown to actually disagree with Nagato or Sasuke on the basis of their beliefs, but instead on their actions. Naruto doesn't believe that mass suffering is needed to bring peace (Nagato's plan of causing pain to bring empathy.) He also doesn't believe in killing all of the kages or martyring Sasuke as someone to be eternally hated for the sake of peace. His issue with killing the kages has to do with the instability that would lead to (what we're shown).
So in modern terms, Naruto is closest to a socdem - someone who wants to work within the system to bring about leftist changes to the system.
Okay
But then we get to Boruto and we have:
The Uchiha tablet has been moved to the middle of the woods, effectively erasing their culture from Konoha completely
Sarada has people making comments about her carrying the curse of hate and faces discrimination for her ancestors part in the fourth war - meaning the very conditions which facilitated the Uchiha massacre/genocide are still in place, furthered by a lack of history education of the Uchiha via the removal of their cultural texts to outside the village (the tablet)
Children still are sent to fight and die for Konoha
The council of elders still has political strength
The anbu still exist
Those who took part in hiding the truth behind the Uchiha massacre/genocide have faced no consequences and have maintained their positions of power
The hokage still has an unlimited term AND is not elected by the citizens of Konoha - the hokage still falls under the control of the will of the elders if they wish to keep their position
And the thing that gets me is that there is no evidence in Naruto (the manga) that Naruto (the character) would hide the truth of the Uchiha massacre. He immediately went to tell people but was held back by Kakashi, but Kakashi would have no power over him once he's hokage.
So is this some commentary about how revolution is the only path forward towards change? I'd be shocked at kishi's sudden change in political beliefs but fair enough, i can totally work with the narrative through that view point.
But the why the fuck is Sasuke, the main revolutionary of the series, now an asset of the state?
Or was the idea that change takes time?
But why were they able to erect a statue of Itachi whilst moving the last of Uchiha culture literally outside the village.
Is it that Kishi didn't think about his own political messages before writing Boruto, effectively ruining Naruto's character as a fighter for the oppressed?
Most likely.
Because at the end of Naruto, Naruto vowed to fight for the oppressed. He wanted to fix things for Nagato, and Neji, and Sasuke. He wanted to overhaul the entire system, he just wanted to do so in a way that wouldn't result in more civilian deaths.
That his time as hokage in canon has finished the eradication of a culture from konoha, continued the abuses of children, did not end Konoha's economic reliance on violence, and more is a complete destruction of his character.
And the thing is that Naruto didn't have to end by validating Nagato, Neji, and Sasuke's beliefs. Kishi could have gone full ally of the oppressive state and painted them as incorrect wholly and completely.
He didn't.
He made the choice to have them be objectively mistreated and to have his protagonist agree that change was necessary. HE is the one who validated them. He is the one who wrote their oppression into the story, and also had his protagonist agree they were oppressed and that change is necessary

Sodo × fem!reader
She/her reader
Words count: 2 486
Summary: You have a fight with Sodo and he gives you the silent treatment after that.
Warnings: hurt/comfort, angst/fluff. She throws up at some point but it's short and not details. She also eat less for a short time so TW for ED.
Notes: English is not my first language so some lines may be grammatically incorrect, + typos, sorry.
Tumblr media
(Pic coming from Pinterest)
"Mountain I don't know what to do. I feel like he doesn't want to talk to me. At first I understood: he's angry, l'm not gonna talk to him, l'm gonna wait. But it's been hours and I really feel like we need to talk about it... "
"Honestly, I personally don't think what you did was that bad. He's just annoyed by anything and everything. You should try to talk to him."
"Ok..? You sighted.
Rain was looking at you, shaking his head no.
But what could you do, really?
You had walked on his guitar and broke two of the buttons. Not just broke in the he could put them back on way, but you had crushed them.
You couldn't even remember how it happened.
But you remembered how Sodo had looked at you.
How the atmosphere of the room had instantly changed. For the long time you had been with Sodo, or hang out with him, you had never felt that.
It was your fault, clearly. You knew your boyfriend was always leaving his things on the floor so you should have been careful.
After your initial shock, you had fall to your knees and tried to put the pieces back. But he had harshly told you to leave the room. You had quickly complied. And he hadn't talk to you since the incident.
You hadn't even had the chance to apologize...
You trusted Rain. But you had to talk to Sodo.
————————————————
So here you were, in front of his door.
"Sodo ?"
You knocked on the door and opened it. Discreetly walking inside.
He was sitting on the floor, his back to you. His ears and head twitching at the sound of your movements.
His tail was moving violently.
He looked like an animal.
"Sodo ? It's me….. Ijust wanted to say l'm sorry."
"Get out." He growled.
Ok.
So it was gonna be a hard one.
"Sodo, I'm really sorry, can we talk about this ?"
"What about ? You broke my guitar. I won't be able to play it. That's it. Get out.?
"I'm not getting out until you're looking at me. You're clearly not well and I'm not leaving you like this."
He angrily turned around and looked at you dead in the eyes.
He wasn't wearing his mask so you could see his eyes. And now you knew why they were ghouls. Why people thought of them as demons.
"And why would I want you being the one to help me?"
"Because I'm your girlfriend…..?" You answer quietly, forced to look at the floor under his cold scary gaze.
He laughed sadistically and you knew it had been the wrong thing to say and you were both gonna get hurt now.
" You're just a girl I fuck and hang out with. I could do it with any other siblings or sisters. Do you think you have anything special? Because right now apart from breaking my guitar, you didn't do much around here."
He doesn't mean it.
You knew he didn't mean it.
He is just angry.
He loves you.
You knew he did.
After everything you went through together.
But it still hurt.
"You don't mean it. You're just angry.."
"Just angry? Just angry? I could fucking kill you right now! don't know why i'm not doing it. Probably because my brothers would murder me after that. But trust me I would fucking rip you apart if I could. You're fucking useless in the clergy. Copia is being nice to you because that's who he is. He doesn't care about you. I don't care about it."
"No, you don't mean it..." your lips started shaking.
"I- mean- every-words- I- said." He articulated.
At this point your whole body was trembling.
"Stop fucking trembling. It's pissing me off!" He harshly said before turning back to his broken guitar.
"Sorry." you muttered.
He doesn’t mean it.
He doesn't mean it.
He doesn't mean it.
He doesn't mean it.
Both of you didn't say anything for the next two minutes.
It can't end on this.
This conversation can't end like that.
How can I arrange it ?
How can I fix his guitar?
"Sodo, tell me what should I do...?"
You could hear the tears in your own voice.
You knew his guitar was the thing he loved the most in this whole world.
He always had play with this guitar since he stopped being a bassist.
"Fucking leave me alone and don't talk to me again. I don't want to see your face."
You couldn't just stop talking to him.
Or hang out with him.
Did that mean you both were nothing now.
"Are you breaking up with me ?" You ask with a quiet voice.
He didn't answer.
You were in the wrong.
He had every right to not talk. He had asked you to leave him be and you were in the wrong.
So you turned around, defeated, and walked out of the door.
You were in the wrong.
He didn't answer...
——————————————-
4 days had passed since your fight with Sodo.
You both hadn't talk to each other.
You were trying to reach him but he just kept avoiding and ignoring you.
You had heard from Aether that he was in the studio, talking with Copia.
So you ran to them, knowing he couldn't avoid you if he was talking with Copia.
You entered the studio.
Copia glanced at you but Sodo kept talking not acknowledging you or the sound you made.
He probably heard or smell you coming.
"Sodo...”
The ghoul kept on going on.
Copia looked at you, then Sodo.
"Sodo. Please can we talk ?"
No answer.
“Sodo answer me !” You yelled.
Copia looked at you and opened his mouth to say something to Sodo but the ghoul was faster.
"We can keep this conversation elsewhere if you're distracted Papa."
Copia looked like he didn't know what to do.
The silence grounded itself in the room.
“Please talk to me." You whispered, your voice shaking.
Silence again.
Then Sodo started talking with Copia again, who clearly wasn't listening but just looking at you with pity, extending his hand toward you to reach you.
“My dear maybe if...”
Tears rolled down your face and you whimpered just before running out of the room.
You were embarrassed.
Being treated like that in front of Papa.
Being treated like you were nothing.
Like you were useless and didn't exist.
You arrived to your bedroom and locked yourself into your bedroom.
You ran to your bathroom and toilet.
You started throwing up.
Your mouth and throat were sour because of the vomit.
But the way Sodo treated you had triggered some background traumas you had.
You've been through similar things in middle school.
You had to endure those type of behaviors from people you loved.
And it had leave the child you were, traumatized by some specific things.
You couldn't help the way your body was reacting.
And for the next 3 weeks, you had been throwing up every night.
After your duties. After all the pressure was gone. Your body was letting it all go.
But it hurt you.
Your stomach, your throat, your head was hurting you.
Your whole body was exhausted by throwing up for hours. So after the first week you started eating less to vomit a little less food.
Your body kept trying to vomit something and it hurt, but it wasn't as painful as when you were eating.
You also had sleeping problems because of that. It was not often that you were throwing up in the middle of the night and apart from thinking too hard about everything that was going on, you frequently were woke up by nightmares.
You had learned from Rain that Sodo's guitar had been fixed a week ago. You were glad. But the silent treatment kept going on. And honestly it was almost like you had accept it, it pained you everytime you saw him, but you were getting use to it. It didn't mean you were more happy. Getting use to it didn't arrange anything. You still felt miserable. Wandering in the corridors, doing your tasks like a ghost, you still felt useless.
Right now, you were trying to eat your breakfast. The only meal you had everyday.
Thinking about what you could do today.
You knew how it was gonna go: you were gonna go to your bedroom, lay in your bed, start thinking about Sodo, about your relationship, about everything you did, about how you did the same as when you were young, about your last relationships, about how in the wrong you were. About how apart from the guitar you were just a pain in the ass and uninteresting.
About how you knew Sodo was stubborn but if he really loved you he couldn't avoid you for that long.
About how he had always been right: he was saying the truth and didn't want you.
And you would throw up, and cry. And wish someone was there, but at the same time wished no one would see you like that, and wished to only disappear and die.
"Y/n. I know you want and need some time alone, but we're really worried about you.."
You didn't dare to look at Mountain while eating your cereals.
"Hm."
"He's right, you don't look good." Agreed Swiss.
"So that's why you all decided to sit with me this morning? Then that's really kind of you, for once, to sit with me. But don't worry I'II be able to achieve my duties. So you can tell Copia to stop sending his ghouls because whatever my mood and state I'll do my job. I don't want to get thrown out of the clergy."
You stood up from your chair and took your bowl.
But before you had the chance to walk away, Mountain's tail grabbed your forearm.
"Y/n, you need to talk to him.” Mountain muttered.
You started laughing hysterically.
"He's been giving me the silent treatment for 5 weeks. At this point he just doesn't want me in his life. Plus, last time you told me talk to him and look how greatly it went. It's okay. I fucked up. It was stupid of me to think he cared and loved me. You all don't have to pretend. I’ll just stop annoying everyone."
Cumulus tried to speak:
"Y/n it's not what we-“
You didn't let her finished as you took your forearm back and quickly walked out of the cafeteria.
"We need to do something. Sodo is fucking up all the rehearsals and she clearly is not doing well?”
"I don't care about the fucking rehearsals Aether. She's gonna kill herself if she keeps going on like this." Said Mountain.
"We need to talk some fucking sense in Sodo's ego and brain." Agreed Cirrus.
——————————————-
You were in your room.
In your bed.
Under your white sheets.
Your head below your pillow.
Your head was hurting you so bad.
You didn't know if the pillow was suppose to take the pain away, to cut yourself from the outside world, or just suffocate yourself to die instantly.
The tinnitus in your ears was so loud you didn't hear your door opening.
"Y/n.."
You groaned. Still deaf from the person entering.
"Y/n, it's me, Sodo."
You were on the verge of passing out.
The bucket for throwing up next to your bed was almost full.
You didn't know why tonight was that bad.
"Talk to me, please?
Sodo thought it was only fair that you were giving him the silent treatment back, after what he did to you. But he couldn't stop himself from getting worried at the sounds leavingg your body.
He rushed to your bed when he clearly heard cries.
He pulled the sheets and you shriek.
You curled on yourself even more than before, as if trying to protect you.
Sodo took in the sigh of you.
You were pale.
Really pale.
It looked like you hadn't eat for days.
He kneeled next to the bed, where your face was now resting and caressed it.
"Y/n open your eyes."
You shook your head and he stood up, just to sit on your bed and tried to pull you up so you were sitting.
You were just limbs and as you sat up, your head fell past his shoulder. Your chin resting on it as your chest was laying on his.
"Sodo." you finally whimpered.
You had recognized him.
"Yeah, it's me darling."
"You're talking to me." She sobs.
And Sodo’s heart couldn’t hold it anymore.
It broke on itself and tears started to well up in his eyes.
And a sudden wave of immense sadness and pain washed over him.
He was overwhelmed by sorrow.
It took him a second to realize it was your pain he was feeling.
His arms encircled you and he hugged you like he had never hug anyone.
"I'm so sorry. l'm so sorry. I was being immature. It was never your fault. For anything. I let my guitar lay around. I was an asshole to get angry at something so stupid. It was just buttons. I didn't mean anything I say. Please believe me. I love you. I love you so much. Please."
You closed your eyes from relief.
Your head was still hurting you like hell therefore the need to vomit was starting to vanish.
But then your mind reminded you of those past 3 weeks.
"Why? Why did you do that to me? For 3 weeks. You're lying. You don't love me.."
You tried to get out of his embrace but you were just too weak.
"I'm sorry. I was angry at myself. And then I thought you would never forgive me. That you were just better without someone so immature. I'm so sorry. I don't want our relationship to get toxic. l'll never do that to you again. I'm so sorry. l've never been more miserable. Please come back."
You cried even harder as you heard Sodo's own cries.
"I don't know. I don't know. I'm so tired Sodo. I love you so much. But right now I'm too tired to think."
"Okay, okay don't worry darling. I brought you some biscuits so you can eat and then we'll just lay down and talk about all this tomorrow. Do you want me to go ?”
"Please. Stay. I need you to hold me."
Sodo nodded. He didn't loose his grip on you as you both laid down on the bed.
He hugged you from behind.
"I love you so much. I'm so sorry. So sorry." He sobs quietly.
"I know Sodo." whispered as your mind drifted into unconsciousness.
The ringing in your ears had stopped.

"So... how's that child ?"
The cup of tea that she had just picked up suddenly stopped. Aisha looked at her father when he mentioned you.
“(Y/n) is much better, she is receiving treatment very well,” Empress Iris said and then paused, the smile on her lips gradually becoming lighter. “… Like in the letter I sent you before, she doesn't remember anything that happened. So the royal physician diagnosed her with memory loss.”
“Hm” The Emperor nodded, raised the teacup, and took a sip.
"Isn't anyone going to tell her the truth ?"
“N-no way !” Aisha said hastily, she put down the tea cup. She still doesn't want you to know the truth. It's very difficult for you to get better. If you knew your homeland had been destroyed, Aisha isn't sure how you would feel.
“(Y/n) will have a hard time getting better, if we let her know the truth…”
You are too fragile to face it now. That would be a horrifying truth that could destroy you all over again. Aisha doesn't want that.
Tyrion thought for a while, then sighed, as if seeing right through his daughter's emotions.
“I understand.” The king nodded slightly, thinking. “Anyway, that child has nowhere else to go…”
Tumblr media
“Aisha, can we talk for a bit ?”
Finally, the Princess found herself on the balcony with her brother. Tonight, the moonlight is cool and windy, making it very suitable for relaxing or taking a walk before going to bed.
The two talked about many things to each other, as if this peaceful moment would last without end. Isis looked at her, his eyes were so gentle and affectionate that there were no words to describe them. He was talking to his beloved sister, how wonderful this was.
“You seem to care a lot about (K/n)'s princess, Aisha.”
Aisha's smile stiffened slightly; she was confused, her face suddenly turned pink. “Why do you think that ?”
“I saw your face turn worried when dad talked about telling her the truth.” Isis said softly. He wasn't surprised; he knew Aisha was a kind person and had a kind heart.
“Ah, is that so ?”
Aisha giggled, she didn't expect her face to look worried at that moment. But maybe he's right, because she really cares about you. Her mood, when she saw you getting better, became relieved, as if a ton of burden had been lifted from her.
“I feel… She…” She hesitated, seemingly at a loss for words to describe her feelings and what they were about you.
“When you talked about (Y/n) through the letter, my mother and I were very shocked. She reminds me of what happened when I was in Edenburg…”
But it seems like she… went through something even more horrifying than that…
Isis's pupils shrank slightly, he realized something. He pondered, his hands clenching unconsciously. The mention of Edenburg's name made him feel hateful.
Isis was silent for a moment, as if considering something before deciding to speak.
“Aisha… there is something I want to tell you.” He hesitated.
Something made Isis' voice sound more serious than before.
Aisha was a bit surprised. What kind of thing sounded so serious? She didn't take her eyes off him, ready for whatever he would say.
“Edenburg…”
“They have something to do with this war, my sister…”
What ?
Her pupils shrank, her heart skipped a beat. Aisha couldn't utter a word when her brother said that. Her throat felt tight, her body felt numb. Did Isis just mention Edenburg ? She felt doubtful, many emotions mixed and rolled within her, making Aisha unable to find the words to answer him. She wondered: Why is Edenburg involved in this?
What the hell are they thinking anyway ?
“What did you… just say…?”
Edenburg.
"That-… Impossible ! Why is Edenburg involved in this ?!"
Aisha's hands gripped the balcony railing tightly, making her fingers turn white. The image of Marianne unconsciously invaded her mind. The more Edenburg was mentioned, even if she was immersed in boundless joy, it still left Aisha enveloped in feelings of pain and deep hatred, above anything.
“Dad and I learned about it when we questioned Alamasia's soldiers. They said that Edenburg also had a part in this, including the destruction of (K/n).”
“They are the ones who provided information about (K/n) to Alamasia, and they are also the ones who provided magic tools for Alamasia to invade (K/n)…”
Although his voice was still steady and calm, Isis's expression had since become frowning. Edenburg's appearance was something he did not expect when interrogating those soldiers.
"I don't understand…"
“In the end, what did (K/n) do to deserve all that?” Aisha couldn't hide the bitterness in her voice.
From a young age, when exposed to human knowledge, Aisha noticed that the world praised the (K/n) Empire. People all use beautiful words to talk about that place, the country always stands at the pinnacle of prosperity, regardless of time. Along with the fact that music has always been associated with the country's development over the centuries, people call it the name: The country of songs.
People say that place is like paradise on earth—such a beautiful, wonderful place, where people live in prosperity and happiness, light exists everywhere, even in each alley in (K/n). Ancient songs, melodies, stories, and legends about the gods. (K/n) is always a place full of human love and happiness.
But now they are just a pile of ruins.
(Y/n), do you remember what your hometown used to be like?
“Do you know ?” Aisha said this after a moment of silence.
“Even though she doesn't remember anything about herself, she always remembers that she has a place to return to. I feel that it has deepened and taken root in her consciousness and subconscious.”
It seems like your heart is always in that place—a place that nothing can replace, a place that you can't even forget.
The place you call “home”.
Paper cannot cover a fire. Aisha knew you would find out one day; sooner or later, she wouldn't be able to hide the truth from you forever. But… how can Aisha tell you the truth ?
Tumblr media
Bang !
The sound came when Aisha's light arrow hit the tree trunk, making a dent there. She adjusted her breathing, looking at the dent that was bigger than the last time she practiced, which meant she was getting stronger. Aisha was happy about that. Although using light spirit power to fight was quite laborious, she would definitely try.
You sit on the side, clapping your hands. Your eyes widened in surprise and admiration. Princess Aisha was amazing. Aisha saw that and couldn't help but feel a sense of pride in her heart and, at the same time, a little embarrassed at the admiring eyes you were giving her.
Today, Aisha took you out to get some fresh air. She was worried that leaving you in the room for a long time would make you feel bored, partly because you could walk again. And it was the right decision! She noticed that you look more refreshed when you go out. The weather today is also very suitable, so you will feel comfortable. Aisha also feels better when she sees you happy.
Worried that you would wander around alone, she let you stay by her side while practicing. After that, you always stared at her curiously. The feeling of being stared at like that was also a bit embarrassing. Aisha would sometimes turn her face away for a moment to hide her slightly blushing face.
But most of all, what the Princess noticed was that you look so adorable sitting there !
This thought may be strange, but it's true! What Aisha means is… You look cute. You are dreamy, and your cheeks are pink, probably because the comfortable weather makes you like that. There's also the way you watch the butterflies flutter around and the way your eyes light up when you clap for her.
“Yeah… even though (Y/n) normally looks pretty and cute…” Aisha thought that while the bow in her hand glowed, it transformed into Rimie, an intermediate light spirit. Lu also transformed, returning from the arrow just now.
“Good job, Lu, Rimie !”
"Master! This time, you have improved !” Lu said excitedly that the little spirit was flying around Aisha.
"Yes! You too! It's been hard for you two."
"It's nothing, it's my honor to contribute to my master," Rimie said. She smiled slightly, placing her hand on her chest, showing sincerity.
“Now rest, Lu, Rimie.”
The two spirits disappeared after her words. Aisha quickly came to you. The two of you had been out for a long time; she wondered if you were tired.
“(Y/n), how are you feeling ?” Aisha sat down with you.
You nodded, your hand rubbing the green grass, feeling the smoothness touching your palm. Everything makes you curious. Suddenly, you feel like you haven't been outdoors for a long time, and the warm light also makes you feel a bit strange. It wasn't just a few weeks; it was longer than that. But you quickly dismissed it and thought that maybe you were thinking too much. Maybe being in the room for too long makes you feel that way.
Aisha silently smiled, watching you interact with everything outside. You looked like a child right now, studying everything in your sight.
Before that, she had taken you to meet her father, Emperor Tyrion; although at first she found it a bit hasty for you, she was worried that you would feel nervous about meeting him. But after that, nothing happened, everything was quite fine. Even though you still refused to say anything, luckily, the Emperor sympathized with you.
Actually, you're not very good about it. Meeting such a noble person makes you feel tense and restless, Aisha and Empress Iris are also noble, but they are much gentler. When welcoming you, he did not show that side but instead showed a gentle side. If you compare Emperor Tyrion with Empress Iris, you can see that Tyrion is stricter and colder, certainly, because he is the Emperor, the ruler of a large Empire and the leader of the people. You understand that; indeed, being a ruler is not easy.
You heard that Aisha also has an older brother, he is the Crown Prince, but you haven't met him.
“Next month, we will have a party to celebrate my dad's return from that trip. I heard it's supposed to last for half a month.” Princess Aisha looked up at the sky. “Hm… There will probably be a ball too."
Even though she said it was a celebration of the Emperor's successful trip, it was actually a celebration of the knights returning victorious from the war. Everyone knows that, except you.
“(Y/n), do you like royal balls ?”
Hearing her question, you drifted off, thinking about balls and royal parties. Many question marks began to appear in your mind. What is a royal party like ?
Aisha looked at your bewildered appearance and accidentally let out a giggle. “A ball is a kind of social gathering, but where people's main activity is dancing.” She explained, seeming to guess your thoughts.
“You can make friends there and dance with whoever you like.”
Having said this, she suddenly stopped and stared at you. If you let yourself attend the party, perhaps you will also attract a lot of attention from nobles, many people will notice your outstanding beauty. Your beauty becomes apparent after the scars gradually fade until they completely disappear. You look like the reincarnation of an angel fallen from heaven. Shiny, smooth hair and crystal-like (e/c) eyes—when you're quiet, people say you're as beautiful as a porcelain doll.
It's just a shame that you look quite... lifeless right now. Every time Iris looks into your eyes, she says that they contain an indescribable sadness that is as deep as the ocean, just looking at it once or twice will not be enough to understand.
Aisha wondered what it would be like when you smiled; it would definitely be very beautiful.
Tumblr media
You two don't know that Isis is silently observing you at the window in the palace. Looking at the two of you being so close, he smiled slightly, happy that Aisha had a friend to keep her company. However, his smile suddenly faded, and a thoughtful look shone in his blue eyes as he looked at your back.
What is he thinking ?

Note
I always personally disliked Eclipse as to me, he was just Moon but without the title of "brother"(not that that made Moon's treatment okay, if anything it makes Moon worse because siblings should NEVER treat their other siblings like Moon treats Sun)
I get how he's angry and traumatized from being trapped in Moon's mind but what he took from it was completely incorrect, instead of realizing the one who did this to him was Moon, Moon discarded him and locked him away, he never realized Moon had ensured Eclipse couldn't be heard by doing that, he seriously thinks Sun was ignoring him when Sun flat out had no clue he was there and likely the Fazco techs never noticed anything and Moon likely lied to Sun that there was nothing there because he knew Eclipse was there, Moon is solely to blame for Eclipse's situation, and YET he blames Sun, who's just as much of a victim as him, he seriously saw what Moon was doing to Sun and his own situation and somehow went "Sun's the bad one"?
It's just like how Moon blamed Sun for their shared situation even though the Creator made them that way on purpose and Fazco let them rot, and neither he or Moon ever realized that had they been nicer their freedom would've been achieved faster? Sun was more than willing to help Moon and tried extending a hand to Eclipse despite thinking Eclipse caused July 16th, but both made themselves out to be serious threats to Sun's life and other people's lives and gave him no choice
It makes me wonder if Eclipse inherited part of Moon's hateful grudge towards Sun for locking him away, but just like Moon rather than realizing Sun actually had a good reason for that(aka he had no other choice, it sucks but nobody helped him, he didn't have the ability to do anything else, and Moon kept killing people, seriously what is he supposed to do?), it wasn't out of selfishness or malice, and Sun would've rather never had to do that to Moon, he would've rathered they coexisted, and Eclipse, despite claiming he's better than Moon, never grew up enough to realize that?
It also didn't help that after July 16th when he introduced himself he made himself out to be the bad guy, Sun and Moon had no idea Bloodmoon was a thing, to Sun all he knows is there's another presence in his head and it just killed all those people, and to Moon, he knows exactly what's in Sun's head and he thinks that that's what caused July 16th because he knew he left the killcode in there like an idiot, and what does Eclipse do when he makes himself known? Takes over Sun's body to laugh in his face, good job incriminating yourself for a crime you didn't commit
I half suspect the reason why he's so cruel to Sun is, like Moon, he knows Sun is too kind(Eclipse thinks cowardly but he's wrong) to fight back, ergo, there's no consequences to hurting him, because he'll keep being kind and forgiving, that Sun is easy prey, and we know both he and Moon think that because both are shocked when they shove Sun past his breaking point, which takes a lot, that and the fact that they enjoy hurting Sun, Sun's they're perfect victim since they could be endlessly cruel and torment Sun and Sun for the longest time never fought back, and both of them enjoyed hurting Sun, if Moon and Eclipse tried this with anyone else it'd backfire, heck when Eclipse tried manipulating Earth back when he had the Star he flat out failed because she was not cowed by him whatsoever, and Lunar eventually left him after he had enough and Lunar even killed Eclipse when Eclipse pushed him too far…Speaking of
The guy literally built Lunar to be his perfectly loyal and loving little brother and yet through his cruel behavior and him hitting Lunar Lunar ran away, he managed to drive away somebody he built to be brainwashed for and unflinchingly loyal to him, that's both a testament to his cruelty and how even when he's presented the perfect opportunity to not be alone, to get what he wants, to be loved and have a family, he ruins it with that aforementioned cruelty because he like Moon can't help himself, even if he "learned siblings act like this from Sun and Moon" does that really make it right?
Another thing I wonder is if he built Lunar to be like how he perceives Sun to be: always loving, always loyal, childish, stupid, naive, and selfish, and yet then we see how that backfires as unlike Sun, Lunar would not tolerate Eclipse's abuse, he would not forgive Eclipse if pushed too far and would take action against him if Eclipse kept going, that the love he had for Eclipse to begin with faded when Eclipse hurt him, which goes to show how Eclipse's perception of Sun(seen through Lunar) completely misrepresents and is inaccurate to who Sun actually is, people like to cite how Eclipse might've killed Lunar out of spite because Lunar "betrayed" him, if Eclipse held the role of Moon and Lunar was meant to be Sun in their dynamic, Lunar went against the script by standing up for himself and cutting Eclipse out of his life, as opposed to Sun who even now gives Moon a chance after everything, but that's just an idea
Eclipse has always tried ruining Sun's life and hurt him, it goes far beyond retribution(retribution for crimes Sun never committed) into torture, and he always think terribly of Sun, that Sun is a weakling, a coward, worthless, just as selfish and evil as he is, and that Sun deserves to suffer, and there's no excuse for that no matter what reason there might be, some might say "he's mad at Sun for not fighting back against Moon", then why did he decide to double Sun's suffering rather than try to help/encourage him to be stronger? If Eclipse was so lonely and wanted companionship Sun was right there! It's also clear that this isn't the reason since he would always call Sun a coward and just like Moon beat Sun down any time Sun did stand up to him, him blaming Sun for his imprisonment is stupid as it was Moon's fault, not Sun's, others might say "he hates himself" and so what? You don't tear others down to make yourself feel better that's what bullies do, and then there's the reason that I suspect for his behavior:
He enjoys it, he likes hurting Sun because it's fun for him, we've heard him laugh about it before, that he believes all these incorrect things about Sun and therefore he feels justified in being awful to him, and when Sun's not his personal punching bag Sun's his tool for getting petty revenge on Moon
Also for that matter, why did he never seriously confront Moon on abandoning him? If Eclipse is deserving of any kind of justice then by all rights he should chew Moon out for sealing him away, he's more than in the right for chastising Moon for that, yet that never happened weirdly, and why not start to heal from that through therapy and/or introspection rather than just lashing out at everybody?
He, like Moon, absolutely refuses to even entertain the idea that he was the one in the wrong and will jump through every mental hoop he can to avoid that, it's never "hm maybe I did something wrong" and it's always instead "it's everyone else but me" or "I'm bad so what", he never realized that most of the bad things in his life were his own fault
Sun fighting him for control? Sun would've shared if Eclipse wasn't an active threat to him and Moon, Sun hating him? He tortured Sun to his breaking point, Lunar disowning him and allying with Sun and Moon? He abused Lunar badly enough to chase him away, Bloodmoon becoming a loose canon? He discarded Bloodmoon when he fulfilled his purpose and became too unruly for Eclipse's liking, the Star slowly killing him? He sat on his hands having an existential crisis rather than using the Star to upgrade his body in an instant so it wouldn't kill him like every other Eclipse with the Star did, Sun and Nexus killing him? That's the culmination of all his terrible actions finally catching him
I could go on, and yet he still wonders why he's lonely, it took the guy dying four times, one being to Lunar, and being turned into a puppet by Ruin and later Dark Sun for him to finally give some sort of apology to Lunar, but never to Sun, to his first victim, he says he's done hating and yet now we're seeing him continue to be spiteful and bitter towards Sunlight and Moonlight in the new dimension and feel vindicated in his abuse of Sun through dealing with Sunlight
Like seriously why don't people want him to ACTUALLY improve and be a better person? I don't want him dead, I want to see him improve, or at the very least actually earn making a new life for himself by making amends with his old victims, he did that with Lunar, who not Sun? If he does apologize to Sun genuinely and recognize what he he did rather than running away I'd die happy…
Sorry that this is long and with all the talks on Eclipse's regression I wanted to pitch in
You're absolutely right, dear anon 👏
Thank you for sharing your thoughts with me ^^
I don't have anything to add here ^^
And I also wonder why people don't want Eclipse to improve..
And I want the same as you, dear anon.. for Eclipse to reflect and realize his mistakes and wrongdoings and apologize and atone for what he's done.. or just apologize.. like if it's really better if Eclipse went separate ways from Sun and Moon (though I personally disagree) then let Eclipse at least apologize to them..
I think that it'd be for the better for all of them..
Also let Moon apologize to Eclipse too..
And Sun can also apologize for saying that he should kill himself..
So all of them would be even but I think that it matters..
Maybe I'm wrong but who knows..

For the Blacksmith AU (and a follow up on the addition of scars and some comments in the notes with @coallise )
The first time Sera drags Carmilla for a spa treatment she’s probably shocked by all the scars she has. Each with their own story. The marking on her face is the oldest one from adding the incorrect amount of angelic steel powder to a spearhead…which turns out can fuel the fire too. She learned to wear a mask after that. Her arms and legs is just scarred skin, she has lost most of the sense of pain in them (but not completely) so she’ll handle the metal with her bare hands which has turned her arm scarring a whitish color and darkened her talons to a black.
Sera only notices when she’s getting a back massage and hears Carmilla swearing like a Spanish demon. She glances over and her eyes widen. Half of the employees that work in the spa are struggling to keep her pinned down as one angel tries to get rid of the calluses on one of her hands.
That’s when Carmilla breaks free and throws the offending employee THROUGH the wall. Sera watches as Carmilla is backed into a corner. If Sera doesn’t act now then these idiots are going to get HURT.
Carmilla is in the midst of a blind rage. Her eyes glow like a proverbial fire, she's stiffened all over, body at attention, ready to fight off any threat that dares to hold her down. She hates to be touched, hates to be perceived, and can't handle anyone else's hands on her.
Anyone, except Sera.
Sera rushes over. Carmilla almost takes a swipe at her, until her brain catches up with her, and she pulls back, keeping her strength in check so she doesn't hurt the other woman. Sera cups Carmilla's cheeks in both hands, stroking her face, her forehead, her hair, in a soothing manner, trying to settle her down.
"It's okay," Sera says, voice as calm and non-intimidating as she can make it. "I'm sorry. They won't touch you again. I won't let them, I promise."
Carmilla's brain is still running on fumes. She's having such a hard time calming herself down. She understands the words Sera is speaking, but the memory of those hands on her...holding her down against her will...had dredged up old memories and traumas she'd rather have forgotten long ago.
"Let's get out of here," Sera says, pulling away to gather the rest of their clothes and personal effects. "It was wrong of me to force you to do this."
Sera helps her to her feet, and they get dressed. Carmilla does as requested, leaning against Sera for support as the Seraphim helps her walk out of the establishment, her arm around Carmilla's shoulder the entire time. She doesn't know when, or if, they'll be back to try again.

Howl x Male reader
Angst? Happy ending
Lowercase when words should be uppercase is probably common. As well as there is probably incorrect punctuation.
Big ass paragraphs as well.
Went to look at my drafts and saw this calling my name.
It was peaceful and quiet. Calcifer's fire makes the room feel warm, cozy, and safe. You don't wake up because of the quietness, you wake up because there is no chaos hell even Calcifer isn't talking up a storm.
Howl had a break down earlier and ran off somewhere you were waiting for him, lately every time something doesn't go his way it seems to set off a bomb inside of him. He isn't the best with expressing his feelings all you wish he would do is talk it out as a normal couple. Though it is better than screaming at you and having to clean up the green goo.
As you toss another log to calcifer even though he already has three, you sit back on the rocking chair, and you wait hoping to hear the click. You want to see his face; you want to scream at him, you want to be angry at him, you want to ignore him, give him the silent treatment when he tries to act like nothing happened, but who are you fooling to think you'll just ignore him.
You hear the wheel click at least you thought you did. It could be anyone though. Was it Sofie? She's a sweet girl, but lately she's been working on her hat business. Plus it was too late for her to be coming here. You've tucked Markl into bed already. Even though he claims he's a big boy that can take care of himself, he still loves it when you tuck him in, read him a story, give him a kiss on the forehead, and wish him sweet dreams as you shut his door.
You start to feel drowsy so you get off the rocking chair and give calcifer another log, even though he insists he will be good for the night. You tell him it's a treat, to think of it as a thank you for keeping you company, and keeping you warm. While you walk up to the table you pick a plate and lay it on the table, and you grab a box of some pastries you got early from a bakery. The ladies there were so sweet and kind it made you smile a little while setting some on the plate for when he returns.
You close the box and leave the it on the counter, not on a shelf too high in case Markl wakes up in the night, and wants a quick snack before he goes back to bed. You rinse and dry your hands off and walk upstairs, but not without saying goodnight Calcifer. As you lay on the bed you stare up at the ceiling where clocks stare back at you. You know this isn't a healthy relationship. Yes fights are common in relationships healthy or not. Not being able to talk about them because your partner is having a tantrum, and you have no clue where he is not normal.
You want to set boundaries no you need to. You can't be the only one wanting to make this work out. You hear the door open and hear Calcifer screaming, "WHERE HAVE YOU BEEN? DO YOU KNOW HOW WORRIED M/N WAS?" There was no point it was a cycle. After Howl comes back home from wherever he decided to head off to. He ignores Calcifer, heads upstairs takes a shower and comes to lay down in bed with you. You start to fall asleep but then you feel a body next to you hugging you from behind. You try to ignore it as he always does this but then you feel him start to cry. You feel shocked because he usually just passes out, but this is new.
"m/n.." he mumbles in-between your shirt and his hiccups. "I'm sorry...I'm sorry! What I'm doing is wrong..I want to break out of those habits...but I can't it's hard. It's not right for me to drag you with me. Please let me make it up to you." He says as he buries his head deeper into your back and holds onto you tighter. So you tap his arms signaling him to let go, he does as well as scooting back to give you some space. You turn to face him, but seeing his tear stained face hurts you. You always hated seeing Howl cry. You cup his face and nuzzle noses together.
"Howl, yes I am upset you keep running away instead of talking this out like adults. I want you to try to stop doing it, I know it won't happen right away as it's a cycle for you, but I want you to try to break that cycle." You say as you pet his hair and move it out the way to give him a forehead kiss. His eyes widden and start filling up with tears and he buries his head in your chest. You pet his hair as his body shakes.
"I love you Howl and I want us to work, but it takes two. We will talk more later in the morning. I want us to set boundaries, I want you to tell me what's a clear no in your book, and what's in mine. Let's rest for now, but I want you to know I love you very much Howl and don't forget it." As you finish you kiss his head and wrap your arms around him.

beyond the many, MANY other critiques of episodes 3x07 and 3x08 of the wheel of time (i.e. the racist/colorist treatment of darker-skinned black characters, Bury Your Gays, and so on -- imo all valid criticisms, and voiced with much greater eloquence in posts like this one), i think one of the big reasons the latter half of season 3 fell flat for me is this recurring idea of "we have to subvert book readers' expectations and keep them on their toes", combined with an inability of the show's writers to let go of their darlings
(obligatory disclaimer: my last attempt at reading the books fizzled out a year and a half ago about halfway through book five -- i'm starting them over again now, in part because of the way season 3 ended up going, but i might be incorrect or uninformed on some points in this post because of that. This Time I'm Really Going To Do It, i promise)
to be clear, this isn't to say i'm unhappy with ALL the changes that have been made. up till the last couple of episodes i was actually pretty impressed with the way that the show has been pruning out the more difficult or irrelevant plot threads, moving around events so as not to be hitting the same beats one after the other, and adding in more contextual build-up for characters' future dynamics. (see: elayne and aviendha's relationship, giving perrin and faile a more slow-burn romance, moving the siege of tear to post-aiel waste, etc.) obviously YMMV on all of these points, but for the most part i've been able to look at the show's changes to the source material and say, "okay, i see why you're doing this or not doing that, and these changes still feel pretty resonant with what was portrayed in the books (in my personal opinion)."
case in point, i kind of loved perrin giving himself up to the whitecloaks at the end of 3x07? as others have pointed out, it fills a gap in the books where perrin is more or less missing from the action in book 5, plus (again, imo) it feels resonant with the overarching theme in the books, and especially perrin's arc, about violence being a choice -- sometimes a necessary choice, sometimes one you have to walk away from, sometimes requiring a third option, but ALWAYS a choice. also i am just a big sucker for Trial Episodes(TM) in tv shows. (maybe perrin gets taken by the whitecloaks later in the books and gets a trial then, IDK, DON'T TELL ME)
put that in contrast with loial's death in 3x07 and siuan's death in 3x08. in particular loial's death felt incredibly contrived ("a waygate can only be closed for good from the other side", like...really?), while siuan's felt like an act of overkill after seeing her get stilled and then the aftermath of her "questioning". but it also left me thinking: why? like, what purpose do these moments serve within the greater arc of the show? how are they meant to reinforce the ideas and themes of the original books? (i guess for siuan you can make the argument that it drives home elaida's zealotry and the creeping rot at the heart of the white tower, but idk, i think the stilling and the preceding lack of a fair trial kind of showed that already!)
obviously you can talk all the livelong day about the non-diegetic reasons for said changes: expense, scheduling, makeup/prosthetics, etc etc etc. and you can also talk all the livelong day about other ways the show writers might have worked around those things. (recast siuan post-stilling to emphasize how she's a completely different person/going undercover; let loial stay on the backbench in the two rivers while faile/bain/chiad go rescue perrin; etc.) again we come around to the point of, "does this align with the feeling and ideas and overall Important Themes in the books? or are these changes made unnecessarily in order to add shock value and 'surprise' fans of the books?"
you can also contrast this with the outsize importance within the show's narrative of both maksim (literally did not remember he was there with alanna in the two rivers in book 4, altho i understand the books pretty much paint most warders with the same Just Some Guy brush) and also, imo, liandrin, who i SWORE was supposed to kick the bucket once moghedien confronted her. and also the failure to kill off/disappear moiraine and lanfear (soz, i know i didn't finish book 5 but i did get a little spoiled for that moment) after building that up all season, again in order to "subvert" viewers' and readers' expectations...but like...for what purpose? to go through the same thing all over again next season? the very thing the show writers have been purporting to be trying to avoid?
when i read the shadow rising (actually listened to the audiobook but whatever) there were three chapters that really knocked me flat on my ass with their emotional impact: rhuidean, the tower coup, and the battle of the two rivers/"goldeneyes". i liked rhuidean in the show, a LOT, but the other two felt weirdly lackluster. i think the coup was hamstrung by being one of a number of moving plots in 3x08, and also because unlike the books, we didn't have an eyes-on-the-ground POV of the coup actually taking place -- no min, no gawyn, etc. it just sort of...happens, with little fanfare? meanwhile the emotional core of the two rivers battle was just ablated altogether by the decision to not have perrin send faile away and her then bring in the cavalry in a Big Damn Heroes moment. sure, it's cool to see her and perrin fight side by side, and i DID love the "kill the ones i miss" exchange, and i GUESS they tried to replicate the arc of "all hope seemingly lost -> big rescue moment -> day is saved" with loial and also the whitecloaks coming in (not that they...really seemed to do much of anything, LOL), but it really kind of fell flat for me.
idk, maybe these choices will make more sense (in terms of the diegetics and resonating with the books -- again, not trying to make excuses for the harmful execution of specific tropes) IF the show returns for season 4 and we're able to see the bigger picture, but at this point i'm just left kind of scratching my head...and returning once again to the books. LMAO

Re: Binary privilege. #15 TeeBoi, replying to Jessica Merriman
September 22, 2014, 08:56:05 PM
""Where this binary privilege idea came from is anybody's guess and has no merit at all. What next? People who eat creamy peanut butter get preference in treatment over those who eat chunky style?""
I'm new to this forum, so I'm not sure what the "unwritten" rules are, but I'm massively shocked to see someone (least of all a mod) be so dismissive and derisive of other people's experiences. I am literally having to pretend to be male identified at the moment in order to get treatment for my dysphoria, because non-binary identities are seen as less valid. How can you not see that as a disadvantage? Every time I fill out a form and there's a box next to "F" and a box next to "M" and there's nowhere for me to put my little tick, I am reminded that society doesn't believe I exist. I have been excluded from trans spaces before because I was seen as "not trans enough"! A binary identified person saying binary privilege does not exist is EXACTLY the same as a cis person saying trans people are not discriminated against, or a white person saying racism is a thing of the past. So yeah, I'm shocked that a fellow trans person could be so blinkered, and I'm even more shocked that, as someone of stature in this online community, you would see the struggles of a whole section of that community as comparable to a food preference. Particularly as this is in the gender studies section, even if you disagreed with a point, I would have expected a (frankly) more grown up response. I normally close with ciao peeps, but I'm feeling decidedly less cheerful than that right now Tee

Re: Binary privilege.
""Enough of the pity party as a lot of us see non binaries with the same access and respect for treatment we binaries have. Both groups have to prove themselves just to get care they need just the same.""
Firstly, you seem to be forgetting that the vast majority of "binaries" don't need to seek treatment at all as they're cis. Secondly, it is incorrect that non binary people have equal access to treatment, and it isn't about opinion, it is about fact; I was refused treatment for dysphoria as ftgq (as per policy), and granted access to the exact same treatment when pretending to be ftm. Finally, when discussing the oppression and suffering of a marginalized section of society, the term "pity party" is highly disrespectful (again, you're a moderator, you should be setting an example).
""YOU are placing a division when you say another group has privilege, not me.""
By that logic, we can blame racism on people of colour because they're "placing a division" when they point it out. What utter nonsense!
Why do you find it so hard to accept that the kyriarchy looks favourably on heteronormative gender identities? Every, and I mean EVERY aspect of our society is dominated by a binary heteronormative narrative. How can anyone deny the inherant privilege that engenders? I think the question should not be if it exists, but rather WHY are we only now starting to talk about it?

Trixie thinks that you might be a little jealous that Trixie looks better in a saiyan uniform
That's quite an interesting form of ESP you got there, Ms Trixie.
Tumblr media
Because I never responded to your wearing Goku's Gi and I never had any inkling that you were trying to take something from me by wearing it.
I think you mean envious.
Which, again, you would be incorrect, for the third time.

Perhaps try Dr. Venkman's shock therapy treatment to boost your psychic accuracy.
I think it was getting results when that young man ripped the electrodes off himself and stormed off.
Perhaps you can endure longer and reap the benefits.
