Quirkless heroes will be more than common in the future. But will the history books note that the advancements and funding towards the research of support gear for quirkless people was motivated mostly by Dynamight, who dreamed of a forever with Deku as pro heroes, and made that his priority for 8 years?
Will history books show that he was at the heart of it?

I continue to consider myself a vocal feminist. But first and foremost, I am an anti-sexist.
I believe feminism should be about dismantling the patriarchy. To do so, obviously we need to fight for women’s rights and acknowledge their severe oppression and disadvantages under this system. But self-proclaimed feminists have been constantly telling me that feminism is exclusively about women. I keep begging people to consider the various ways sexism impacts folks of other genders, including cis men and all trans people. Time and time again, they refuse.
I am tired of being excluded from mainstream feminism even by those who say they’re trying to be inclusive. I just read an article by the HRC about how to make your feminism trans-inclusive, and it was all about how trans women alone should be included and centered. The only mention of people of other marginalized genders was at the end, mentioned along with men as groups feminism indirectly helps. I read several more about the term “inclusive feminism” that were still all about including all women rather than just cis white women. This is not enough.
As a transmasculine non-binary person I am a direct target of sexism. I may not identify as a woman anymore, but I am frequently still treated like one. I still get sexually harassed, I’m still at higher risk for sexual assault and being underpaid than even cis women. We need a movement willing to work not solely for women, and certainly not against men, but against sexism in all its forms. Whether it’s by expanding the mainstream view of feminism or forming a new movement, I hope for one to develop and will do my part to see that happen.

mike & abby's aunt is mrs afton, thus why she looks so similar to vanessa & also would make it so mike is still technically an afton without being william's son in the movie universe

I love harassing my headmates in front of outsiders. I love flirting with them, bickering with them, existing with them. I enjoy moving our body as I move in headspace, so they can see where the others are as if they were in the room. They are. I love making outsiders aware that there is more to us than meets the eye. It makes them uncomfortable. Good.

Linguistics has been a special interest of mine for many many years, but I'm scared to study it academically bc of all the eurocentric racism and stuff that has been the basis for the field historically. Otoh i really would like to have an academic level of understanding in this topic. Do you have any advice?
oof, this is kind of hard to advise. i won't (couldn't possibly) deny the racism in linguistics—often baked into certain subfields—but there are a lot of people who are currently, actively working to dismantle those frameworks and put more equitable ones into practice (see the paired open-access books inclusion in linguistics and decolonizing linguistics for a start).
unfortunately, teaching is still catching up in many places. introductory courses in particular may get designed once and reused for years. if you want formal academic study, i recommend looking for a program that legitimately supports antiracist work by its faculty and students, because they'll be more empowered to pass on that practice in their instruction than people who are fighting their own admin for changes.

If you are involved in climate activism and if you work in town planning and purchasing, or anything similar, I am begging you to please, *please* start thinking about disabled folk, elderly folk and parents with young kids when you are talking about walking and biking to places.
Cycles are absolutely inherently more pedestrian-friendly than cars, but they are still perfectly capable of injuring or even killing pedestrians, particularly frailer people, small people, and pets.
A lot of pedestrians, especially elderly and disabled people, have developed this instinctive terror of cycles and cyclists purely because poor planning so often shoves cycles into pedestrian spaces that aren’t actually even that ideal for pedestrians, and people who already have difficulties - elderly and disabled people, dog walkers, parents of small children - in those spaces start accumulating experiences of injury or even a succession of near-misses, which are perfectly capable of producing trauma even if physical injury is avoided.
And that only plays into the hands of polluters and governments who are in their pockets as well as increasing the marginalisation of already-marginalised people.
I can’t blame cyclists who are too afraid to ride cycles on the roads along with motor traffic. It’s terrifying and incredibly unsafe. Cycle paths, Cycle lanes, and other specific spaces for cyclists are absolutely essential, with as little need to share space with motor traffic *or* pedestrians as possible. Even in wide city boulevards, laid-out cycle paths and spaces are essential. They literally only need paint! And let electric scooters back on them in the UK too.
If you are providing any form of public rentable cycles, please, *please* accommodate elderly, frailer and disabled people too. We tend to be the ones who are in the most need of alternatives to get places, but traditional bikes are inaccessible to frailer people and most people with balance and fatigue issues. Please buy a selection of bikes, including adult-size tricycles, scooters with seats, and bikes with seats and tow options for small children. Parents exist, and are mostly desperately in need of transport as they have small humans with short legs and limited energy, and most prams and buggies are incompatible with traditional cycles.
We know so damn well how right-wing governments and corporations benefit from setting us against each other, and how adept they are at using marginalised people to distract the majority of exploited workers from the larger issues said governments are doing poorly or not tackling at all.
Disabled and elderly people, and parents of small children, are very vulnerable to climate change and the issues it causes. We are not the enemies of the climate movement; but we equally need to be *included* in it and *accommodated* by it.
If you are only looking for solutions that work for abled, healthy young adults, you are, frankly, not doing your job effectively. Listen to disabled people, older people, and parents. If you are doing large-scale planning work, invite us into the planning process *early*, not at the end when any changes will seem too burdensome and expensive to make, and, honestly, pay us for our time and expertise.
Oh, and if you make or sell bikes or electric bikes, sell more accessible options like adult trikes and ones with child seats and towing options too, please. And don’t charge enormously more for them than standard bikes. Financing options would be good too. Most disabled people can’t afford to run a car, and your bikes are often more expensive than that, if you offer them at all.

Reunion: A Ripple [Part 1]
Summary: The sequel to Adopt a Wanderer is finally here!
Note: This sequel series will be more open-ended in terms of romantic/platonic interactions (nothing that cements either one will be included), so readers can read it how they like!
Read the first series here! (an AU where Scaramouche/Wanderer gets isekaied to your world, found-family series)
-> Part 2
Tumblr media
There are many sayings to explain what one sees in their dreams; that they are fragments of memories strewn together, visualizations of yearning, or fears brought to life.
To Wanderer—who stands knee-deep in a dark blue and violet sea—it is a mixture of all three.
He sees a figure in the distance that wades through the scenery. Their visage grows hazier the more he tries to look closer, and they take a silent step away from him—followed by a drop of water that reverberates through the dreamscape, transporting him into a different place altogether.
Wanderer is in a house, its floorings and decoration something he cannot identify as Teyvatian. It is foreign in a way that doesn’t seem like it’d be able to hold him; as if a hunter dropped a woven net over the puppet, expecting it to be enough to snare the callous soul.
He stands, as if frozen in time, like a creature taken aback by this new sensation, and allows himself to stay still as he turns his gaze to the sound of running water.
A person washing dishes. Wanderer barely recognises your face at first, but an odd sense of familiarity calls out to him from your movements—relaxed, humming to a song playing from your phone—and his eyes widen as something clicks in his mind.
The last thing he manages to do before he is snatched away, is reach out his hand towards you. Does it in such panic that his arm aches, as if his action could race against the way his consciousness closes in on itself, engulfing everything in a voidless dark.
His lashes flutter open, and a sharp pain throbs at the back of his skull.
He groans, cursing the headache, and covers his eyes with a hand as if that would keep the dream from slipping away.
Irminsul. Wanderer clenches his jaw. What has it done?
.

Y'all. I'm so happy! This project can finally happen, thanks to your support!
WOW. Thank you all so very much for making this dream come true!!!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
124 people pitched in to raise a total of $1,959 to make this zine possible, not counting those who have supported us financially prior to the Kickstarter and in other ways throughout this process.
163 zines were purchased through the Kickstarter, about half of which were print copies. Including the copies we're sending to our artists, authors, and major donors, there will be almost 200 copies of this zine out in the world in one form or another, when all is said and done!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Since the Kickstarter ended a little over a week ago, we've been taking some much needed rest. Now, we're jumping back into it, getting those finishing touches on the zine so we can send it off to the printer! We plan to have digital rewards sent out by the end of July 2024, and physical rewards mailed out by 15th of August, 2024! Stay tuned!
