Faces sweaty, arms and legs
What a glorious set of stairs we make

this was supposed to be a simple drawing of Prava praying on a paternoster I saw at the museum of amber but I have no concept of moderation so it turned into this
the quote is from a song "Bloodhail" by Have a Nice Life
#reverend mother prava#inarius#diablo 4#diablo iv#this was certainly a process but at least now I can die in peace#and this time I did prava's tatoos justice!#oh prava they don't love you like I love you#my art

Inarius from January!XDDD
This picture was originally meant to be the cover for my fan comic, but the comic got delayed for so long that I only had time to finish the art recently. However, there seems to be a color discrepancy – it looks gray on my computer and blue on my phone. I just can't seem to fix it.😅

Congratulations to the Diablo team and Inarius and Lilith for making/being the most divorced couple of all time
(for the record drawing these i was picturing them Pre messy breakup because it's even funnier for me to imagine them just being utterly awful right from the get-go)

#I've never played any diablo games before but i saw that snazzy cutscene from diablo IV#and was struck with the urge to learn more about these horrible horrible people#the easiest way in the world to get me to draw someone is to have 1) a cool character designs and 2) be funny to mock#apparently there's a book trilogy that includes some early-sanctuary info but to be perfectly honest#the version of these two that's in my head is already so funny i never want to learn anything new#diablo#diablo 4#diablo iv#inarius#lilith#my art#doodles#idk why i ended up drawing inarius from the back three times in a row but given he doesn't have a face not like we're missing much

Hm. Thinkin' about the switch from a hands-off no-physical-violence approach to his family, and Inarius going full homicide in D4.
It's. A significant trait of his that he refuses to physically harm Lilith. It's why the Sin War series happens at all; instead of just killing her the first time, he sends her to the void. Instead of killing her a second time, he sends her to the void again. And then he goes and does the exact same thing with Rathma. He swore a vow to never harm his lover, and in appeasement of that vow he does something way more monstrous.
Both Lilith and Rathma consider the Void to be an infinitely worse fate than if he'd just cut their heads off or something. On a narrative level, it's being used to show that the Angels and Heaven are Not Better than Hell; if anything, they might be worse. Look what just one outcast is capable of, and imagine what the rest might do when they show up.
Then we get to Diablo 4 and suddenly his main goal is to...violently kill his mate and child. Fine fine that's certainly a conclusion he could've reached after the whole tortured-in-hell-for-millennia thing. And Rathma's prophecy definitely skewed his mind in a specific, impalement focused direction.
I just think someone (Lilith) should have pointed out this shift from him. She coulda taunted him with it or whatever.
He's always been a monster, just the way he goes about it changed and I think that the game missed an opportunity.
#Diablo 4#Inarius#blorbo moment#we've established that Sin War and Diablo 4 may as well not even be set in the same universe#for how much things have been upturned and changed around#but still#At least the game did Lilith right#her book counterpart is...ehhhh#if you had to pick one thing to get right I guess she's it

Prava holds the braincell in this group, but she's not quite sure what to do about it.
Transcript:
Dear Diary, I think god has Depression. When I asked what we should do about this, Urivar suggested weed and Vigo recommended ale and a game of cards. I don't think either of them will work, as god does not seem to eat or drink, or possibly even breath. Maybe I can convince him to pray with me? It always makes me feel better, but then, I am usually praying to him. What would our Father and god pray to? Maybe I'll just pray for him. ~Prava

Humans/Nephalem: Lore
Human notes: If overly exposed to a demon or angelic influence, humans can and will develop demonic and angelic features. These features can be minor or significant and differ for every human.
Pure Demonic influence: The first thing to come from a demonic influence is a change of eye color. First, the eyes will get a tint of barely noticeable color. This color can be red, white, blue, green, etc. The next thing to change is fingernails. Nails will slowly grow into claws. Much to the human's dismay. When humans notice this, they attempt to hide it by wearing gloves or cutting their nails. However, they are only delaying the inevitable. They also grow fangs, and their senses become sharper.
If humans can leave the demonic influence, they can stop further changes in their tracks. However, if they can't, more changes can be made to the body and mind. There are many types of demons, including bird-like, lizard-like, snake-like, bug-like, and spider-like demons. Since humans are kin to demons, no matter how they deny it, they can also start to show their traits if overly exposed to a demon.
They can grow cloven hooves, paws, and Horns, some even demonic wings, extra arms, and legs. The list goes on. They will start to resemble the demon they are most genetically linked to, much to the human's dismay. If overly exposed to demonic influence, the humans could be lost to demons forever.
Pure Angelic influence: The first thing to come from angelic influence is a glow. The humans will have a light glow wherever they go. Some humans can heal plants, animals, and people. The next thing is a black covering, slowly but surely growing all over their bodies A black void-like color grew all over them the longer they spent under the angel's influence. Then, tendril wings of light grow from their back. Colors depend on the person. Then, the growth of armor all over their body.
Angelic and Demonic Influence: If exposed to both for a long time. The human in question will develop a combination of both kin. This can differ depending on the human. They can have horns, tails, and fangs with tendril-glowing wings. They can have black covering skin with demonic wings but an angelic halo. Have you ever seen a hybrid bug demon with angelic features? For a lot of demons and angels, this is quite stomach-churning.
Honestly, Inarius finds Nephalem barely tolerable.

Ngl the fact that apparently Rathma has been dead for literal years by the time Lilith gets inside his temple is honestly so sad?
Like she has no idea until she’s standing before his corpse that she was too late. She was always too late and there is absolutely nothing she could’ve done to get to him in time. He’s been dead for years and she’s only been back in sanctuary for a few weeks. Even if he would’ve let her save him, she never would’ve had the chance to.
It really puts the confrontation between Lilith and Inarius in the final act into perspective imo? Lilith is struggling with the fresh grief of her son’s death while Inarius has been applauding himself and patting himself on the back for it for years. Like no wonder he dismissed her words about Rathma so easily. He’s convinced himself he did the right thing years ago and you can’t overturn years of telling yourself you’re in the right with a single conversation.
It’s just. GAH. It makes me feel so much sympathy for Lilith, and hate Inarius even more.
#diablo 4 spoilers#Lilith#inarius#Rathma#in case you’re curious#if you complete brother orlins dialogue chain in act one when you go meet inarius you learn the confrontation between him and Rathma#was years prior based on the priest saying “he has meditated on the prophecy for years and years here ever since#meanwhile you learn that Lilith has only been back in sanctuary for a few weeks from a quest chain in hawezar that unlocks after you finish#the act in hawezar#you basically get asked to track down a Zakarum priest who’s been missing for a couple weeks#and spoiler said priest turns out to be the black priest in the trailer where Elias summons Lilith back into sanctuary#he’s only been gone for a few weeks ergo Lilith has only been back for a few weeks
