Hello, my love! 🩷
Ahaha no worries, hun!! Now you get to read Parts 2 and 3 without having to wait! 😂
I leave an hour for each stage of getting ready.
Exactly! And an extra hour for cushion! You get my math. 😂
But yes, I really wanted to call back to moments in BMD, and a red dress for Christmas seemed a perfect time to shoutout the night they met. 🥲 I'm so glad you enjoyed the description of the fit. I had a really fun time researching dresses and how to visualize it narratively!
[On Ben buying her earrings from an old-school catalogue lol]: It's my headcanon that with the kind of money this guy has, being a little rich boi, he'd like to bling his girl out. Now, our reader's not materialistic (and probably wasn't given many gifts as a kid/over the years with the hard lifestyle she led), so she really takes those gifts to heart.
THEY’RE SO CUTE OMGGG!!! Him modernising for her, and Pookie dipping her toe into the vintage era for him 🥹
Exactly my goal here! I knew you would pick that out. 😘
Benjamin, that would entail messing up the hair and makeup that took ages to perfect 🖐️
Well, ordinarily yes, but Trina's stress is gonna push our girl to the brink this time. 😅
LOL you're right, Marie treating him like a son is ironic when you remember his real age. 😂 But yeah, Louisa's being a bit salty. She has her reasons, but still. 🫠
“You’d told him about Alexa and Siri and all those techno bitches out there now, controlling people’s houses. He didn’t trust it.” — Omg this is such a funny concept to me, Ben learning about all of this shit would be hilarious 🤣 and it’s even funnier that he doesn’t trust it LMAOO!!
Isn't that just the best visual? Ben interacting with Alexa like she's a real fucking person, being confused and suspicious AF. 🤣🤣
And of course he gravitates to George. They're the closest in age! 😂 But it was so fun shading in the reader's family, especially with George, with her sense of humor/mischief coming from him.
When I see ‘Mets’ it reminds me of a club we have in Brisbane called ‘The Met’.
Oh that's so cool!!
Stan grandma for clear skin. At least Ben can’t hit on her with her being dead…
LOL wait 'til Great Aunt Sylvia meets him in Part 3. 😂
Oh it’s easy, just say that one of his dipshit employees at the time kidnapped you for no good reason, and so Soldier Boy nobly… uhh… kept you on house arrest, and eventually killed aforementioned dipshit.
LMFAO a nice and easy summation. But omfg your comments on Trina had my dying a million deaths. 🤣🤣 Some of my favorites:
Does this mean that EVERYONE can spit the truth? Because Trina I’ve gotta say, you’re a big mouthed slag who nobody likes because you give thoughts that nobody even asked for 🤙
TRINA YOU SLUTBAG THAT WAS SO OUTTA POCKET!
Trina why the fuck are you so obsessed with weight?? Who HURT you?
Believe me, you get this a lot in Latino/Hispanic households. It's obnoxious. 🙄🙄 Meanwhile, they be eating a whole tray of custard flan by themselves.
Ben’s intro to her family was less chaotic then I thought, he funnily enough just got to chill with the oldies.
Lol that's true! His turn will come more in Part 3. But while I don't have a "Trina" to this degree in my family, I have had grandmothers who made unsolicited opinions on weight and beauty, etc. 🥲
It was fun to see Ben and George interact though, I was curious to see how he might react to his granddaughter dating a man as old as he is and I love that it wasn’t even brought up.
...This is a great point, actually lmao. I could've explored that a bit more. But when I think about it, the boomer era was known for being kind of blase about age gaps. Granted, Ben's 102 and the reader is less than half his age. 🤣
But he's in this 45-ish man body, so it's almost like an Edward Cullen/Bella situation -- the age gap is so wide it doesn't even really matter anymore. What matters is the differing rates at which both of them will continue to age.
Though the reader does have to contend with Louisa's opinions on Ben's age. So there's that. 🤣
I'm so glad that you enjoyed Part 2!! I'm very excited to see what you think of Part 3. 😘😘
Love Actually - Part 2
Paring: Soldier Boy/Ben x Reader
Summary: You and Ben steel yourselves in order to meet your crazy family for Christmas dinner.
AN: Here’s the requested Part 2! It got too long, so I had to break it up lol. There will be a Part 3 after this (final part). I also tried really hard to find an image/gif that would match this chapter better, but alas, there are only so many pictures of this scruffy guy. (And none in a real suit. 😂)
Read Part 1
Remember, this story is set in the same world as “Break Me Down,” and set before “Checkerboard.” But this can be read as a stand-alone! Hope you enjoy…
Word Count: 4,800 Tags/Warnings: Tense situations, bit of angst, lots of sexy fluff
Part 2: "Season’s Greetings"
Ben checked his watched again.
He’d lost count of how many times, how many minutes, how long he’d been waiting for you to come down the goddamn stairs so he could get this night over with.
You’d been getting ready for this dinner with your family for four hours. How long did it take you to slap on some makeup and throw on a dress?
Finally, he heaved a sigh and got up from the couch, adjusting the watch on his wrist. He stayed by the foot of the stairs and called up to you.
“Hey. What’s taking so damn long?” he asked. His brows were furrowed, mouth set in an aggravated frown. “I already told you. I’m not planning on being at this thing all night. So if you don’t come down here in the next ten minutes, I swear to fucking Christ—”
Ben stopped short, as he heard your footsteps at the top of the stairs. When he looked up with expectant, pursed lips, his face subtly froze.
“What? What’re you gonna do?” you teased. Tucking a strand of hair behind your ear, you grasped the guardrail and carefully made your way down the stairs. These heels were no joke.
You had a black suede clutch tucked in your other hand, but Ben was drawn to the bright red of your dress. The color alone appealed to him. It called back a memory of a musty club, rich whiskey, and the dulcet tones of your voice.
But now, this dress was shorter. It also hugged your every curve and stopped just a few inches above the knee. He noticed a tantalizing little slit in the back, at the hem, leading his eyes down your sheer pantyhose and down to the tall, black heels.
His lips formed a teasing smile. “You sure you can walk in those?”
But you could see the truth in his eyes; he liked what he saw. They raked back up your body, taking in the short sleeves, the slight plunge of the neckline, the red lipstick as bright as your dress, the soft sweep of eyeliner and dark lashes—and you hoped he noticed the way you’d painstakingly done your hair into soft, ‘40s style waves.
“Do I look shaky to you?” you countered.
Ben tilted his head slightly as he stared up at you. “Not one bit.”
He reached out for you on the last step of the stairs. You took his hand and gave him a grateful look, but your hand didn’t stop there. It grazed up the sleeve of his suit jacket as you took him in with a smile.
Not often one to don a simple black suit, Ben went with a charcoal gray against a crisp black undershirt. No tie though, leaving the first couple of buttons casually open.
“Look at my man, all sharp and modern and sexy as hell,” you purred. He accepted the praise with a pleased quirk of his lips.
Normally you wouldn’t try to feed his peacock-level pride too much. He knew he was a damn fine-looking man. However, you also knew he wasn’t totally into meeting the rest of your family tonight. You knew you needed to give him a (well earned) ego boost.
“Gotta match my girl,” said Ben. Though he fingered the ends of your softly curled hair with a more genuine glint to his smile. “Though you’ve gone a bit vintage.”
“Compromise.” You grinned, and you leaned up for a soft kiss.
He met you there, even pressing his luck when his tongue begged entrance against your lips. You held his cheek and brushed your thumb there tenderly, but you soon broke away.
“We’ve got somewhere to be,” you reminded him. Ben sighed through his nose, though his hands molded to your waist.
“I didn’t realize you were that kinky,” he said. His voice was deep and suggestive. Your face started to heat up, even as your brows knitted with confusion.
“What?” you asked.
“I know you’re not gonna make me wait all night to get a taste of this,” he said. And he leaned down to begin plying you with his heavy hands and his lips along your neck. “I gotta assume you want me to fuck you in your mom’s house.”
You uttered a shocked laugh. You batted his shoulder, even though it didn’t even make him blink. His lips curved as they grazed your neck. He inhaled under your ear, making a pleasant shudder run down your spine. He hummed in approval.
“Is that the perfume I got you?” he asked.
“Mhmm,” you nodded. “I like it a lot. Makes me feel all warm and spicy.”
Ben chuckled into your neck. He did pull back eventually to thumb around the edge of one of your earrings—the second part of his Christmas gift to you. The white stone and silver filigree shone in the light.
“They look good,” he remarked, giving you a charming smile. “Better on you than the catalogue girl.”
Now that was an image. Soldier Boy: browsing through a magazine of women’s jewelry. You smiled brightly at him.
“Thank you, baby,” you replied. “They really are beautiful.”
Then you glanced down to find your gift to him on his wrist: a new silver Rolex. You turned his hand over to make sure that it fit him right.
“Not too tight, right? Not too loose.” you asked.
He shook his head. “Nah, it’s good.”
“Just good? Does it still need adjusting? We can go back to the store and have them fix it—”
“It’s perfect, sweetheart. Stop fussing,” he said. Your lips pursed as you looked up at him from the watch.
“I just want to make sure you’re happy with it, that’s all,” you said.
“I am,” he replied. But his smile, the hidden glint of something in his eyes, made you blush. Inside, you were warm and pleased.
“All right, let’s go then,” you said. “I’ve got the rum cake, and the actual rum ready to go in the kitchen. And the presents are lined up by the door. Can you load those up in the car for me while I get the food?”
Ben obliged you, though he soon balked at the army of presents waiting for him by the door. When did you have time to get all of these? He didn’t remember you buying all this shit.
Though he realized, this must’ve been how you filled your time after work, while he was gone for the past two weeks on that mission.
As he loaded the gifts into the car, Ben reluctantly remembered that it had been…strange, to be away from you. For the past few months, you two had fallen into a rhythm. Waking up to each other, busy morning routines before work, sharing your evenings afterwards.
You had also been making it your mission to find new things to do together. Like paintballing, of all things. Or comedy shows, new movies and restaurants, concerts, club nights with your friends. Though it was weird for him, sometimes, to go to a show without all the celebrity fanfare he used to get as Soldier Boy.
Well, he was still Soldier Boy. He just wasn’t getting paid anywhere near the same as he used to. (But let’s face it, he didn’t need the damn money. He’d earned plenty in 40 years of fame and family inheritance.)
People still knew his name, still worshiped him at times, but it wasn’t the same. He wasn’t part of Vought’s machine anymore. No one really told him what to do, but if he wanted this life—here, in upstate New York—he was forced to make efforts to color within the lines of the law (mostly). Hell, he actually worked for a living. Even if it was for the government.
The point was, he was part of something. And it wasn’t totally shit, even if he was surrounded by morons on a daily basis…
By the time you opened the passenger side door to interrupt his musings, Ben remembered to actually start the car.
“You okay?” you asked as you clicked in your seatbelt. You were keeping a close eye on him tonight, trying to gauge his shifting moods.
Ben hesitated, but when he glanced over at you, he reached over and thumbed at your chin, under those ruby red lips. It made you smile.
“Yeah,” he replied. Though he let out a subtle breath as he faced the road and took the wheel of the car. Ever perceptive though, you sent him an assessing look.
“You’re not nervous, are you?” you asked. His brows furrowed slightly.
“Why would I be?” he asked, his voice a bit sharp. Defensive, you interpreted.
Instead of answering, you leaned over and laid a hand on his thigh.
“Look, my mom already likes you. Louisa’s going to come around,” you said. Your mouth edged into a smile, of sorts. “I just need you to stop me from killing my aunt with a ladle.”
Ben snorted in response. “All right.”
When the two of you arrived at your mother’s house, she opened the door to her home and greeted your boyfriend like a long-lost son.
“Oh, Ben! Come in, please,” she beckoned, grabbing his arm and guiding him inside. “You look so handsome, my goodness!”
Ben couldn’t help offering a smile. It was infused with his usual charm.
“Marie,” he greeted with a nod. You shook your head, despite your own smile. Ben liked attention—along with a bit of praise and fanfare went without saying. And you knew your mom wouldn’t be the only one to play into that tonight.
“Hi, Mom,” you said pointedly, with a hand on your hip. Marie turned to you with a bright smile.
“Oh! Honey, there you are. Merry Christmas!” She brought you in and hugged you tight. She then fairly gushed as she took in your dress and touched your hair. “Oh, you look so beautiful. I wish you’d come earlier though. I need you to help me and Trina. Come on.”
Marie glanced up at Ben again. “Oh, you too, hun! We can introduce you to everyone.”
Ben nodded. He followed your lead behind your mother, and you inwardly steeled yourself on the way to the kitchen. The familiar smells awaiting you brought you back to the better parts of your childhood. Ones that were filled with music, laughs, and good food.
And if there was one redeeming quality about your Aunt Trina, it was that she could cook her ass off. Since your mom had always been more of the “boxed meal” variety cook, Trina always took over at Thanksgiving and Christmas, and just about every other family gathering.
She was putting the ham in the oven while your sister sat at the kitchen table with your Grandpa George, peeling potatoes. The bigger table in the dining room was currently set up with appetizers and wine.
But the sounds of chatter and pots and pans and cabinets closing—it all stopped when you and Ben entered the kitchen. You felt his hand at the small of your back, and whether he meant it to or not, that familiar touch stabilized you.
Even Trina stopped giving Louisa directions on how to correctly peel and cut the potatoes for boiling. Her mouth opened when she took in the sight of Ben, from head to toe.
“Good evening,” he said, if only to break the silence.
But you knew the rest was up to you. You curled a hand around his solid arm and gave him a smile, before looking to your family.
“Hey, guys. Merry Christmas!” you greeted. “This is my boyfriend, Ben.”
Trina squealed in excitement. She came over (with a wooden spoon in hand) to give you an enthusiastic hug and kiss. She held your arms and looked between you and Ben.
“Your mom said you were dating a superhero, but I had no idea…” she twittered. “I mean…it’s Soldier Boy. He’s in my kitchen!”
“It’s Mom’s kitchen, actually,” you muttered. Trina’s excitement dimmed slightly as she rolled her eyes at you.
“Ever the smart mouth,” she said, playfully whacking you in the ass with her spoon.
Ben smirked. He certainly agreed with your aunt’s assessment. He turned to her to offer something in greeting, but before he could, Louisa’s voice cut in from across the room.
“What should we call you? Ben, or Soldier Boy?” she asked dryly.
You frowned, gave your sister a look. Meanwhile, Ben didn’t quite make it to a smile, but he was civil when he answered her.
“Ben’s fine.”
You remained in the kitchen to help out, while Ben migrated to the living room with your grandfather. Ben grabbed a large glass of wine on his way there, along with a few mini quiche to tide him over until dinner.
He then noticed an old woman sleeping on the leather recliner.
“Who’s that?” he asked George.
“Oh, that’s Great Aunt Sylvia,” George said. “She just took an oxy for her hip. She’ll be passed out ‘til dinner.”
Ben blinked at the casual mention of oxycodone, but he wouldn’t mind a few of what Sylvia was having. Oxy gave him such a nice buzz.
But instead, he and George sat on opposite ends of the couch while Sylvia snored away.
For a moment, it was quiet, save for the soft crooning of Nat King Cole playing (and Sylvia). The music came from a small round speaker on the coffee table, Ben noticed. You’d told him about Alexa and Siri and all those techno bitches out there now, controlling people’s houses. He didn’t trust it.
“You like baseball?” George asked as he turned on the TV. Ben nodded, and the other man put on a game. Mets versus the Cubs, three to one. The men were silent for a while as they watched the game.
Unfortunately for Ben, that peace couldn’t last.
“So,” George started. “You’re a supe, huh?”
Ben inclined his head, sipping at his wine. This was what he fucking hated. Small talk.
“I remember you,” George said. “My wife and I liked that movie you made…King of Kings. With Charlton Heston. What a classic that guy was.”
Ben smiled. “He was a good time. Drank like a fucking fish.”
George raised a brow. “Did he? Well, we all need a glass every now and then.”
Ben nodded, taking a pointed sip of his wine.
“Heston. One of the few celebrities I gave a shit about when he died,” George said with a shake of his head. “Wasn’t long before my wife’s passing.”
You’d told Ben a lot about your grandmother. When your parents got divorced, she’d insisted that you, your mom, and your sister live with her and George. She didn’t want to take any chances with your dad, who’d been more than unstable at the time in his drinking.
Ben didn’t often pray. But he drank then with a silent toast, that good ole’ Jon was getting hot coals up the ass right about now. In hell.
Ben then considered your grandfather’s musings, realizing he hadn’t thought about his old pal Heston in a long time.
“How’d he die?” Ben asked. George glanced over at him.
“Well, official case was pneumonia. But it wasn’t all that clear,” he said. “However, I think he had a flare up.”
“Of what?” Ben asked.
George gave him a wry look. “The fate that all men fear. Ass cancer.”
Ben raised a brow, his mouth twitching. He had a feeling he knew where your sense of humor came from.
“You probably don’t have to worry about that,” George waved a dismissive hand. “You’re still young. Well, sort of…I mean, being superhuman and all that. I’m sure that comes in handy with the normal stuff, like the sniffles and whatnot…and hey! At least you won’t have to worry about your asshole fallin’ out.”
Ben actually smiled. Now he knew you were related to this man.
In the kitchen, you were trying and failing to dodge a game of “Twenty Questions” with your aunt, while you and your sister finished cutting potatoes. All of the questions were predictably centered around Ben. Luckily, you had a plate of mini quiche, cheese, and salami between you and Louisa to keep you pacified.
“Well, you’ve done well for yourself, I’ll give you that,” Trina said. “But why on God’s green Earth didn’t you tell us you were dating Soldier Boy? How the hell did you even meet him?”
Shit. There was more than one reason you hadn’t told the rest of your family yet, and this was partly it. How the hell were you supposed to explain this?
Louisa shot you a knowing look, along with a raised brow.
“Well, I was actually assigned to find him after he…went missing last year,” you said, keeping things purposefully vague. “We met and…things just kind of took off from there.”
Your mom and your sister didn’t even know all the details, but they knew this much. After Soldier Boy used his nuclear power to end Homelander, he’d escaped in the aftermath.
You’d been working a year in Surveillance at Supe Affairs, but you’d been a private investigator by trade, previously working at your father’s firm. You’d even worked at Vought for a few years, before joining the S.A.
You were then recruited by Grace Mallory to track down Soldier Boy, along with Butcher and his team.
…And that’s where things got complicated.
“But isn’t Soldier Boy the one who killed Homelander?” Trina asked. She stopped in her stirring of the cranberry sauce to look back at you. And you met her stare directly.
“Yes. He was partnered with the CIA on that.” Sort of. You added, “Homelander wasn’t the hero you all thought you knew, remember? He was a raging psychopath.”
Trina huffed at that.
“So was your father. And you still worked with him for years,” she remarked, even off-handedly as she went back to stirring.
Your entire body stilled. Inside, your temper was a lit fuse, preparing to ignite. You stuffed a mini quiche into your mouth to stop you from exploding.
And your mom and your sister recognized the danger. Louisa frowned tightly and touched your arm.
She had been too young to form a true relationship with your father by the time your parents were divorced, and your grandparents (and later you) hadn’t allowed Jon to interfere too much with Louisa's life. So Jon’s death, a mere seven months ago, hadn’t truly affected her as deeply as it had you.
And that in itself was complicated.
Marie paused in preparing the sweet potato casserole to give her sister a warning look.
“Trina, that’s not fair,” said Marie.
Your aunt shrugged. “It’s the truth, isn’t it?”
Slowly, you stood. You grabbed a hand towel and brushed the velvety remains of potato skin from your hands. You also took the plate of cheese cubes and salami with you.
“Honey, she just means—”
“I know what she meant, Mom,” you said. Your mother wasn’t confrontational. She would never tell her sister to shut the fuck up when she was being out of pocket.
But you had no problem doing so. You walked over to Trina, who saw the look in your eye and actually relented, realizing that there was, in fact, a line, and she had crossed it.
“Look, I’d like us to continue having a nice evening,” you told her. “Mention my father again, and it won’t be.”
After a moment, Trina nodded.
“You’re right. I shouldn’t have said that. Don’t mind me,” she said. But then, she smiled. “I’m really happy for you, sweetheart. You’ve got a superhero! Who knew you’d pull that one off, huh?”
Your flat smile remained. “Oh, yeah? How do you mean?”
Trina faltered. Apparently, she hadn’t expected that.
“Oh. Well, you know…”
“No. I really don’t. Can you clarify for me?” you asked, using the same even tone you employed with testy co-workers on the Surveillance team.
Trina sighed. “Oh, honey. You’re a beautiful girl, but…”
“What?” you challenged. “Just say it.”
Behind Trina’s coil of dark hair piled on her head, Marie looked worried. Louisa was also on tenterhooks, gripping the kitchen table. She slowly got to her feet though, in case she needed to intervene.
“Well, I wasn’t gonna say anything,” Trina said. She gestured to you, after grabbing a cheese cube off your plate. “But your hips, hun. I mean, I enjoy a snack. A bon bon. A chocolate eclair. The occasional croissant, but the weight don’t come off easier as you get older, does it?”
You were officially burning like a tea kettle.
“And with a man like that…” Trina fanned herself with the discarded, empty bag of cranberries. “Mother of God. He’s gotta be beating ‘em off with a fucking stick.”
Your mom pursed her lips at the salty language, giving Trina a sharp glance (for multiple reasons).
Trina noticed, but she only popped another piece of salami into her mouth. “Sorry, hun.”
But then she turned back to you.
“And have you talked about kids yet? That’ll be some serious weight gain.”
You let out a sharp breath and raised your gaze heavenward, pleading for mercy.
“Jesus Christ,” you muttered.
“I’m just sayin’!” she said. “He might have forever, but you certainly don’t.”
Now that one struck a nerve. Perhaps not the one she intended, but it cut deeply into you all the same. You and Ben had agreed to pin that conversation for now, but the fact was, he would continue to age much slower than you.
At your steely glare, Trina again raised her hands. This time in placating defense. “I’m trying to help you, is all I’m saying.”
You gripped the edge of the kitchen counter so tight you thought a manicured nail might break off. You’d reached the end of your tether.
“I’ve been here for all of five minutes—”
“Okay, you know what?” Louisa finally stepped in and grabbed your arm. “I need your help. Let’s find the red tablecloth so we can set the table.”
She led you out of the kitchen and into the hall, but you stopped short so fast that you skidded a bit in your heels. You took deep breaths and braced a hand against the wall.
You turned to your sister. “Why doesn’t she attack you like that?”
“Oh, believe me,” Louisa said, rolling her eyes. “I had my turn before you got here. I’ve been locked in with these clucking hens all morning.”
A grin twitched at the corner of your lips.
“My condolences,” you said. But then, you look at your sister a bit harder. “And you. What’s your problem, huh? How long are you going to give Ben a hard time?”
It took her a moment, but Louisa eventually sighed.
“I mean, Aunt Trina’s an asshole, but she kind of said it. He’s literally a century-years-old,” she said. “How do you not have a problem with that?”
You crossed your arms, though you knew you didn’t have a good answer for that one.
“Age is…relative.” You struggled against a wince.
“He lived through the damn Dust Bowl,” Louisa deadpanned. “He’s fucking ancient.”
You glared back at her. “Okay, enough. What’s your real problem, huh? I mean really.”
Louisa let out another sigh. Her hands went to her hips. You hadn’t had a chance to tell her, but she looked pretty tonight too in her black dress. It flared at the waist and reached her knees, and she’d paired it with some chunky red heels. She was a little taller than you normally, but not by much. As the older sister, you enjoyed finally being taller than her for once in your higher heels.
Still, you were annoyed with her right now. You sensed she had something deeper against Ben, and it wasn’t all about his age. When she eventually answered, it just confirmed your suspicions.
“He’s dangerous,” she said at last. “He’s so fucking dangerous.”
That disheartened you. Your lips pressed, and you held onto your own arms a bit tighter.
“Not to me,” you replied. Louisa’s frown deepened as her brows knitted together.
“Especially to you,” she said. “He kidnapped you.”
You gave a wan smile. “Not technically.”
That had been one of his subordinates, who’d taken you outside of Ben’s orders…
It was a long and complicated story, but basically, it had worked out for both of you in the end.
Louisa gave you a more incredulous look. “He’s got an atomic bomb in his chest.”
“He’s working on controlling it,” you insisted. “He’s gotten a lot better!”
Louisa threw her hands upward in exasperation and turned to leave you in the hall. You stopped her with a hand on her arm.
“Look, I get it,” you said, meeting her gaze directly. “You’re worried about me. But here’s the thing…you don’t have to do that. I’m the one who looks out for you, remember?”
Once again, she frowned at you. “Why, just because you’re older?”
You gave her a teasing smile.
“Well, yeah.” Still, you grasped both of her arms, now crossed in front of her chest. “Lou, haven’t I always taken care of you?”
“Okay, yeah,” she said. “But who takes care of you? Who makes sure you’re all right?”
You gave her a patient, if knowing look.
She grimaced. “Oh, don’t you say it.”
“Honestly, Lou. He does take care of me…he makes me feel safe.” You bit your lip, and your eyes began to well up with the sting of tears, emotion rising in your throat. “I’ve never had that. Ever.”
Your sister released a heavy sigh. “I know.”
“Then can you actually try to get to know him? Please?” You rubbed her arms, pleading with your eyes. You wanted your family to like your boyfriend, but it was so much more than that. You didn’t want to have separate worlds. Everyone in this house was part of your family, and that now included Ben.
The longer she looked into your imploring eyes, Louisa’s grimace lightened, just a touch. “I’ll think about it.”
You smiled then, warmly as you hugged your sister. You then kissed her on the cheek, leaving the bright red imprint of your lipstick.
When you went back into the kitchen, your better mood was ruined pretty quickly by watching your aunt run your mother around the kitchen with demands and instructions. You decided to jump into the fray, taking a large serving bowl out of Marie’s hands before it tipped over.
“How’s the ham doing?” you asked.
“About half an hour or so, I think,” Trina said. “Maybe forty-five.”
“Okay, and what’s left?”
“Let’s get the desserts ready.”
While your help sorely relieved your mother, it was actually a terrible idea for your mental health. When you could take no more of Trina’s irritating, commanding voice in your ear, you had to take a breath (as well as down a full glass of wine).
You wordlessly asked Louisa to tag in for you before you traveled into the living room.
There you found Ben immersed in a baseball game with Grandpa George. Both men only looked up at you when you stood near the couch with crossed arms. Your nerves were on edge, your blood still just short of boiling, but you took pains to look pleasant.
“Who’s winning?” you asked.
Ben quirked a smile at the sight of you, while George gave his more freely.
“5 to 3. It’s close on the Mets,” he said. You realized then that you hadn’t even hugged your grandfather yet.
“Oh my God, Grandpa! I’m so sorry,” you said with a frown. You went over to hug him. “Trina has me all out of whack.”
George chuckled and patted you warmly on the back. “Why do you think I’m out here?”
You sighed with a wry smile. You then turned to Great Aunt Sylvia, who was still passed out in the recliner.
“Aunt Sylvia?” you tried. You went over to her and touched her arm.
“Leave her be, hun,” George told you. “Only the smell of food’ll rouse that woman.”
Your smile deepened. Then you turned to Ben, who’d been watching you with reserved interest. He’d never seen you with the rest of your family before.
You went to him on his side of the couch and asked, in a tone deceptively light, “How about a tour of the house? You haven’t even seen it all.”
He could admit, it was a fairly big house for just your mother, but he was more interested in the game.
“I’m watching this,” he said, gesturing at the screen. However, when he saw the tight press of your lips, he knew something wasn’t right with you. You were trying to tell him something with your eyes, he just didn’t know what.
You leaned down, subtly grabbing his thigh.
“I need you,” you whispered in his ear. “Now.”
The tone of your voice set his blood alight with new interest.
Ben’s resulting smirk was subtle, but edged.
“A tour it is.”
AN: Just when you thought you'd seen the last of my BMD cliffhangers. 😏
How'd you like Ben's introduction to his girlfriend's family? I also sincerely hope you don't have an "Aunt Trina" in your life. 🙄
Next Time:
He grabbed your arms and meant to kiss you, but you stopped him with your fingers against his lips.
“Two rules: this lipstick doesn’t come off. And no. Ripping. The dress.”

Go get a drink of water, go get a drink of water right fucking now if you can, stay hydrated bestie
<...>
My most used alias is Ace, but I'm always up for a bit of a mix, alternative names include Harley, Sam, Ryker, Paprika, Izzy or Samantha, if you so desire, you may concoct a url nickname I know is just Sans, trust me, it happened last time this was my url, it'll happen again
As for pronouns, the order for me goes she/he/it with an appetizer of zap/neo/xem/zao, and I'm stealing every other pronoun you use in reference to me, so go wild
<...>
I'll use cat puns from time to time, considering it a quirk, maybe even a mix of fish puns if I'm really feeling it
<...>
I'm only page 3000-ish of Homestuck, I'm gonna fuck up the lore from time to time, I'm still gonna write the fanfic for it though, so please don't come after if I mess up something that's explained later on
<...>
As for a DNI, there is none in use but do be warned, the block button is a bloggers best friend

I have an Undertale AU that has been living in my head for three years and I'm just now refining it so please ask me about that if you want to know about it

If you got a ship you wanna talk about, drop an ask, I'll talk about pretty much any ship, if I'm uncomfortable with the one you dropped into the box, I'll just send a DM if you sent it off anon, if not then I'll just answer kindly
SALS and all that jazz you know, tryna keep this place free of verbal violence
<...>
Gender in itself is like, a lot of energy for me to discuss or even think about if its for myself, I have a few that I keep around cause I like but otherwise it reflects the gender of whoever I'm interacting with
If someone were [BLANK] I'd be [BLANK] as well, kind of like a mirror, is there a term for that?
But a better explanation would be that I go through gender hoards and take what I like only to lose it in the ever growing pile I stopped organizing after it got to large.
<...>
Obsessed with winged creatures of all sorts, please tag me if you see a cool winged creature, so I can put it in my wings folder

I don't make sprite edits, but we stan sprite edits in this household, and you can move out if you don't
<...>
I'm queer not LGBTQ+, and you can fuck yourself with that fancy car of yours if you plan on coming after me for it [explanation]
<...>
The vore tag, which isn't used a lot and almost always in gorish context, is 'voring it up' so, keep that in mind, none of it is meant to be interpreted as NSFW

Surprised to hear you like Henry VI and Margaret of Anjou, given that you're a fan of Richard, Duke of York. Isn't that a conflict of interest or something? Lol. What's your opinion on Elizabeth Woodville and the Woodville clan, Margaret Beaufort, Warwick and the Neville clan, and George, Duke of Clarence? (Basically what's your opinion on the rest of the players of the Wars of the Roses lol.)
Gosh, anon you are encouraging me!! I love that you care about my thoughts <3. Alright then, let's start.
I used to be very anti-Margaret of Anjou. Until I started to look at things from her perspective. York was dangerously popular with a lot of children and a formidable wife. Margaret must have felt insecure. Also, there is this theory that Margaret's mentor and confidant William de la Pole, Duke of Suffolk was murdered under the order of the Duke of York. That must have been a tipping point. But I still think that York was the better ruler and person. I will get a lot of hate for this, but women in general were not suitable rulers for the Middle Ages. They were often driven by more personal ideals (Empress Matilda vs. Stephen is a great example and Margaret was no different). Ofc there were men like that too but women seemed to always be like that. As a woman, I understand and the later periods were more suitable for female leadership. York was a much better ruler. He was driven by the stability of the realm rather than his personal issues (he put his own son-in-law in prison and Margaret wouldn't even budge on her failure advisors). And her entitlement was mind-boggling. I love how messed up she was. And Henry...I just feel sorry for him. The Middle Ages also were not a time for artistic and kind kings lol.
Elizabeth Woodville and the Woodville Clan:
As I have said, I pretty much like everyone before 1485 lol. But Elizabeth Woodville was annoying af. That made her interesting but I can't get over how incredibly greedy she was. She was the daughter of a minor gentry and widow of a Lancastrian knight. Edward makes her queen and she abuses that power so much. She has problems with everyone. Warwick, George, Richard, any noble who didn't kiss her arse and even Edward. Queens were meant to level the mind of King. Edward III's queen famously saved French clergy by going on her knees to beg the King for mercy. Ofc that was a bit dramatic but many Queens did this. It was called the Queen's mercy or something like that. But boy was she a hell of a woman. Despite being raised in a pretty privileged household, she was shrewd and survived to the end. She could have learned a thing or two from Cecily Neville about how to put that strong personality to better use but regardless. Also, I love how she was shunned fron Henry Tudor's court when Richard welcomed her to his with open arms. I mean...karma. But all in all, I like her. Its as they say "well behaved women seldom make history". She had flaws (so did the everyone else!) but her character is interesting and admirable. And despite that shaved forehead, she is a gorgeous woman. So I get where Edward was coming from XD The other social climbing members Woodville..not so much. The shameless way that they tried to push themselves in and take hold of power when they had literally fought on the losing Lancastrian side is embarrassing and oh so disgusting. Like Warwick secured the throne for Edward and they were given precedence over him. I just...yeah. John Woodville legit married a 65 year old duchess (he was 19) for money and power. They were a hungry bunch and courting them was Edward IV's biggest mistake and towards the end of his life, I think he saw that.
Margaret Beaufort
I will keep this short since I don't know much about her but I dislike her. I understand that she went through a lot. Her father apparently suicided when she was 1 and that is traumatic. And back then suicide was mocked and disgraced. She ofc blamed the Duke of York....cause at this point why not? She ofc went through a really young and traumatic birth at 13. Her husband was gross and that's that. And we know that Edward kept her son exiled so she couldn't see him. But despite all this, I just don't like her? I suppose its the super impressive Plantagenet women who just make me look at the sleezy and dull Margaret with disdain. And she gives me real phony vibes. Like at times, she just seemed to cosplay Cecily Neville lol. When you see women like Cecily Neville and Margaret of Anjou taking charge in the way they did, Margaret and her deceptive ways are just cringe worthy.
The Earl of Warwick
This man. Just this man. The way that England seemed to revolve around his whims is amazing. He was a real Duke of York stan and so I have to appreciate him. But he was so fearless. Henry VI, Edward IV, Margaret of Anjou, you name it. He stood against them. The Duke of York seemed to be someone he admired but other than that, he fought for himself. He helped Edward take the crown and worked hard to keep Edward's throne. He was embarrassed with the whole secret marriage saga but still stuck by. But Edward clearly forgot who he owed his success too. The man escaped an assassination by Henry VI's men and saved his father and uncle from it. He actually took charge in the first Battle of St. Albans in 1455 because his rivals the Percys were mocking him. I just love him. Ngl, sometimes when I read about him, I just blush. A man if there ever was one. There were so many attempts at disgracing him. He was the Captain of Calais and in that role fought Medieval pirates! And he was ruthless at it. People loved him and he carried that popularity well. I should stop fangirling over a dead guy. I think I made it pretty clear that I love him XD.
Neville clan
I like them too. Warwick's father was pretty much York's best friend and I love him for it. They were also social climbers like the Woodvilles but so much better at it. They didn't have the entitlement that the Woodvilles did and managed their powers well. Cecily Neville was ofc a Neville and she is one of my favorites. One of my favorite thing about them is how courageous they were. Like all of them. Unfortunately, Anne and Isabel are both obscure figures. I wish we knew more about them. They were pushed around like prizes. Good on Richard for giving Anne a position to make her own decision. I feel bad for those girls. Although the York brothers were known to be good looking so lucky them?
George, Duke of Clarence
Ah, George. I love this man. If there was one son of York who inherited his father's glamour and charm, it was George. And I love that he stood up to his brother and sister-in-law. He was sometimes too problematic but I still love that! Glamourous and problematic. How can one not love the man? Although his betrayal of Edward is kind of sad considering that Edward really tried to be like a dad to his brothers. George took Edward's love for granted for too long. His breakdown after his wife's death is really sad too. Interestingly, this seems to be a pattern with the Plantagenet men. They all have breakdowns and downfalls after the death of their wives. Their women are so much stronger emotionally.
I know this was long! I hope you enjoyed the post :D. I would love to know your thoughts too and if you agree or disagree. Seriously, thank you for letting me talk about this. Nothing makes me happier than to discuss these people!

Hi! Am I allowed to request some Castor headcanons?? Like, anything about him, really. He's much too adorable and I NEED MORE. 😂😶🙈 We stan an irritable, foul-mouthed racoon in this household. 👍🏻💙
(Also, Castor totally reminds me of Rocket, hence the gif 😂)
Oh ABSOLUTELY you can! I am so glad someone else loves him to, Castor is my baby and I adore him so, so much. I’ll be putting them under the cut as they may be a wee bit long....
Warnings: some swearing and Castor being the general, snarky, snobbish racoon we all know and love
Let’s be clear, Castor was not always a racoon
Castor is actually the essence inside the racoon that took over its body
The primordial forces spoken of that created the universe? Castor is their offspring, a fraction of their power siphoned off an brought to life in the animals that roamed the Earth, allowed to grow and develop as it pleased in Mother Natures nursery before being sent to guide the witches
He is therefore very, very old, almost as old as time itself
Y/N is not his first witch, he has been the integral part of precisely several witches lives. Witches live much longer than humans but they are not immortal, evne if they live for several thousand years they will eventually die, and Castor learned early on it was better to not get attached to his charges
His cynicism and snark is a product of his age. Witches study their magic for so long, they don’t get their first familiars until their studies are officially complete, and this can be anywhere between 250 - 300 years depending on the topic and depth of study, but this is in witch terms rather youthful and youth...is impetuous, stubborn, impatient. Familiars are sent to temper those things but Castor is very old and he just doesn’t have the patience to deal with all that
Before he met Y/N his charge was a witch named Charity Lobelle. She resented his attitude with her and appealed to the High Council to have their bond revoked. Castor was both furious and embarrased - no witch had ever rejected him before
There was a lot of paperwork that day and a whole training course he had to go through before he was allowed to be a familiar again which he did NOT APPRECIATE
He was not the most amenable familiar when he was first sent to Y/N. he was incredibly cold, barely spoke to her unless it was out of necessity, and he didn’t let her touch him either
It wasn’t a potions accident nearly killed the poor girl that he got his head out of his ass - she hadn’t really been sure how to brew it but was too stubborn to ask her familiar for help when he clearly didn’t want to
The more he worked with her the more impossible it became for him to keep his heart out of it. Y/N was quite clearly a trouble magnet and needed his guidance more than any other witch he’d been sent to to date
It took all his patience (and tea making skills) but he slowly managed to ingratiate himself to her. They haven’t been separated since and if castor gets his way, they will not be separated ever again
Castor thinks very highly of himself with very good reason. With millions of years of age comes millions of years of experience. He is good at what he does and he knows it so he has very little patience with anyone telling him he is wrong
Growing up as he did was tutored in every kind of magic, even the forbidden ones. Familiars have studied more in-depth than witches ever could and Castor has gotten rather arrogant because of it
It’s very hard to be taken seriously however when your a racoon that doesn’t even reach knee height, so he cultivated a dinosaur size attitude to make up for it
Confident as he is, even Castor feels the weight of his responbilities from time to time. He is guiding a young witch in protecting the balance of nature after all, if they get that wrong large scale clean up has to happen, more paperwork and the familiar...well it doesn’t end well for them
When it’s all too much for him he likes to hide away for a little while in his nest, just curl up and burrow into the blankets for some comfort. He can be a regular racoon there for a while and doesn’t have to worry about the world falling to shit while he’s gone...well...maybe he does but that’s only if Y/N ruins it all
Despite his origins as a literal force that created the universe, he is still in a racoons body. He likes to nest in cosy spaces but can also be incredibly active and mischievous! Good for Y/N that she owns the garden she does so he can climb the trees and scurry about to his hearts content. She learned early on to leave treats hidden about the garden for him to find and puzzle out
Castor will eat anything and Y/N constantly has to sit him down and talk about his food consumption, if only to save her budget so she isn’t spending too much on food
Castor was never going to think anyone was good enough for Y/N, lets be real, but Demetri...well he is further down the list than most given that this guy might actually kill his witch on accident
He has a strong sense of right and wrong and being so old has left him a bit stuck in his ways. It’s not really until he sees how miserable Y/N is without the vampire that he somewhat comes to accept Demetri is a necessity in her life
Will he ever actually like him? Who knows
Probably not
He saw the very first vampires and werewolves, feral beasts that had to be destroyed and remade into the beings we know today, so he is very very wary about letting one near his charge
Fun fact! Castor has a twin brother! Pollox is a golden retriever, but the two haven’t spoken in centuries since Castor was rejected by his last charge - Pollox sees it as a stain on their family honour
Overall, Castor is the most irritating, arrogant but loyal familiar, and despite his infuriating habits (such as playing music too loud while he’s in the bathtub) he very quickly becomes the best friends of every charge he has ever had - not that his emotionally constipated ass would ever acknowledge just how much he cares for them
You do not mess with this familiar or his charge, not if you don’t want to suffer

antag trio simping over their s/o
we stan simps who don’t know how to simp very well here in this household - mod kokichi
[ B Y A K U Y A ]
- he's much quieter the other two on this list
- it's almost refreshing to know that your boyfriend isn't incredibly supportive to the point of it being a nuisance
- he has very subtle ways of being proud of you
- which includes smiling very knowingly as if he helped you do whatever it is that you just did that impressed him
- calling people out for not being as good as you
- and you know, just generally being nicer to you than he is to anyone else
- sometimes though if you absolutely surprise him with something unexpected and perfectly executed
- he does get very slightly vocal at how proud he is of you
- although it's very little and lowkey usually a backhanded compliment
- like " oh, you did so well for someone like yourself, s / o "
- it's nice
- but it's got those hints of being an asshole
- and that's his way of letting you know that you may be the apple of his eye but he's still going to have to keep you on his level so you don't get a hugely bloated ego
- you know, like him
- but he really is proud of you at pretty much everything you do
- he prefers to watch you do your thing and sit back and enjoy himself
- it's kind of a pastime of his to watch you work
- especially when you're home alone and he can be particularly a little nicer
- he doesn't have to worry about public opinion of him swaying
- so he'll be sure to compliment you a little extra when you're home alone
- at least, compliment you to the best of your abilities
- it's usually something very small
- like a " you did well " and nothing else said about the subject
- he wants to show he cares please love him
[ N A G I T O ]
- oh god
- oh,, oh g o d
- he's so annoying ?? ?
- he's literally the most adorable but the most annoying person ever
- the difference between him and most simps is that he is very vocal about everything
- e very thin g
- if you do something right, you've got him congratulating you the rest of the day
- if you did something wrong, which is the worst option out of the two, then he reminds you how to get it done properly
- and will show you
- and then will scold you and tell you that it's okay you messed up, but do better next time
- you highkey think he's being a dick but no
- this is how he shows that he cares
- you know he truly cares when he calls you out on your bullshit
- sometimes it gets annoying because he sees everything you do pretty much
- unless you're in a place that he can't reach you, like the bathroom or something
- you could be in a completely different room and he'll just know when you've messed up something
- and he'll come walking in, ready to help you fix whatever you just messed up
- yeah, it's his way of love, but still
- also, he is totally the kind of guy to talk about you to everyone
- literally. every. one
- everyone he meets knows about you and everything you've done from the moment you became romantically involved with him
- that one time you accidentally painted your cat while it was asleep thinking it was a stuffed animal ?
- he's probably told someone that before
- it's just because he finds everything you do so amazing that he feels like other people will be amused
- i don't think he knows what personal space is, but it's okay because it's cute
[ K O K I C H I ]
- he is LOUD about his support for you oh my god
- he does not care if he's that annoying boyfriend who just constantly screams for his partner
- he ! will ! show ! you ! he ! loves ! you !
- and that's final
- you are his partner and god dammit he's going to show you that he respects and loves you very much
- alright, he kind of sounds like a soccor mom when he's cheering for you doing absolutely anything
- but that's not what's important
- you're doing the very minimum and he's so proud of you
- he's literally the embodiment of " go, girl, give us nothing ! " but absolutely unironically
- some people thought he was teasing you with how supportive he is
- and honestly, he is being a little teasing shit
- most of the time he's completely serious about it
- but it's because he's so serious that it's teasing at the same way
- he particularly loves seeing you go red when he says something that's just a little too embarrassing
- like how he was cheering you on when you had made a complete mess in front of all of the students of your class
- he was helping you pick up your mess, but the entire time he was saying some of the most embarrassing stuff
- kokichi : " look at you go, making a mess that only s / o could ! no one else does it like you ! "
- you wanted to throw him out of a window, but you loved him and he would die if you did that so you refrained from doing so
- besides,,, deep down you like him being so supportive, even if it's as a joke to get under your skin

Ranking every CC episode (except the specials)
You read the title! Every episode except the specials will be ranked here and now, by your truly. TW for swearing. Also, spoilers, obviously. Remeber these are all my opinions, and enjoy!
Episodes I don’t like too much/ Don’t watch:
54:The Candy Kingpin
I know, I know, probably an unpopular take. I don’t really like Dolph, and think the series could have done without his whole… thing. I like him as a character, sorta, but I also don’t really like him. I honestly forgot this episode even existed until I looked it up, and the only thing I remember was Gwen and David’s conversation. The whole story was… eh? Whatever, it was still fine-ish in the long run.
53: Reigny Day
Enough said. Everyone’s lowkey kind of a jerk in this episode, except for Neil and Max for like two seconds. Also, Dolph jokes. Don’t like it.
52:Cameron Campbell the Campbell Camper
This one was pretty meh. I, once again, didn’t remember it existed until I looked it up. It wasn’t Cam’s best episode (I’ll get to that later), and it was kinda bland. Bland doesn’t mean bad though, but it just wasn’t the best. Only thing I remember was the wholesome Dadvid moment and Max saying a funny line. Enough said about that.
51: Anti Social Network
Now, I wasn’t too sure where to put this, because this was in theory a good episode. I just don’t like it. I’m not sure why, but Max being a tiny perv is very funny to me, because that is exactly what a ten year old is like. I just didn’t really find it interesting or catching my attention, but it wasn’t a bad episode.
50: The Order of the Sparrow
I get why you like this, I totally get it. It’s funny and lots of Dadvid, plus Gwen singing for the first time. Honestly, Gwen singing and David’s mental breakdown is what got this higher than Anti Social Network, but it’s still racist. I get it, it’s comedy, but it’s still really… interesting. I know the CC people are trying their best, and it’s a delicate balance, but I still skip over the first few minutes.
49: Jeremy Fartz
We love a hilarious mess up, Max cursing, and David making fun of someone, but it’s also a really awkward episode? Like, it makes for a really good backstory for Jeremy and joining the Woodscouts, but it’s such an odd episode. Not bad, just odd. Whatever, I still like it. Sorta….
48: Fashion Victims
Oh boy, Russian Waifu comes back. I love Ainsley, she’s my precious baby and Max’s purified Doppelganger, and I love her so much. But Sasha’s not my favorite character in the show, and she got especially mean in this episode. I love the whole Vera thing, but really dislike this one. I watch it once in a while, but not too often. Also, we love positivity from Tabii and Erin.
47:Time Crapsules
We love Gwen blushing, improvement from Max, and making fun of baseball. But this episode really hit me with second hand embarrassment for both Gwen and Max. You know when you can’t sit through an episode without getting second hand embarrassment? Yup, that’s this one. I wanted the guy coming through the door to be David and I’m salty, ok? This is my list, and we stan Gwenvid on this account.
46:Campfire Tales
Dolph’s story was boring, Space Kid was great, We love ghost parents. We l o v e Slenderman! AU David in this household, and I want to see more of them. Oh yeah, outfits were great. Max is a baby in this episode, and I love his fear because it makes you see that he really is a little boy with feelings. I also laugh at everyone’s faces after Space Kid’s story.
Ok Episodes/ Ones I do like:
45:Preston Goodplay’s Goodplay
Oooooo, this is a tough one. I love Preston as a character, because I too am a theatre kid who dislikes most people and wants to be famous for her storytelling. I can relate. I love how David talks to him, and how Preston comes to his realization that he doesn’t need to please everyone. Also, canon French Speaking! David is canon. Amazing. He’s still Candian! Anyway, Clown College was odd, but whatever, I can roll with it.
44: The Quarter Moon Convergence
We totally saw Zemug and no one said anything. No one! Why was no one talking about this! We saw the elder god! Anyways, I love Harrison and Quartermaster working together. It’s funny, it’s clever, and I want to see more of it. I do not like the subplot with the other characters, and it really took me out of the main story. Other than that, pretty interesting idea, and I love my pure magic boy!
43:Who Peed in the Lake
Ew. That’s all I need to say about it. It’s extremely funny, I like the motives, and I love detective Max. However, Nikki and the final answer are disgusting in this episode. It gross, it’s gross, it’s gross, but it’s so funny. I know I have the humor of an eight year old, I don’t care.
42:New Adventure
I love how this episode was played out. Funny, clever, and overall pretty ok. Plus, guess who shows up? Dirty Kevin, my friends! Best trash boy :)
Overall pretty good! Not too many complaints, but not too many great things either.
41:The Fun Raiser
Hmmm… This was an… interesting episode. David and Gwen scheming is my new religion, and they are both idiots. Who the hell thought this plan was a good idea? David? I mean, he’s a little bit dipsy, but has SOME common sense. Gwen? Maybe, but you know, she’s logical. You know what? I’m being too picky. I love my dumbasses, they are the best. Also, Gwen sitting on David is everything I love in my life and everything I need. Harrison makes a very good point, Nikki probably found Jasper’s skull, and Max is my scheming child. Whatever, eh episode, love the plot, but I have cringed at it.
40: Foreign Exchange Students
Like I’ve said before, this episode is out of place. It’s not bad, it’s just… blandish. I know, I know, Russian Waifu was in it, but this episode was only ok. I love Vera and Brian, and the ending is super funny, but other than that, eh episode.
39:Attack of the Nurfs
I honest to gods forgot this episode existed. I ended up rewatching it, and had a few good laughs. Gwen in this episode, for the little time she appears, is so funny. David’s sparkle eyes always make me laugh, and Max ends up making me laugh most of all. Nurf takes “talking to yourself” to a whole new level, and I relate my man. Get that therapy!
38:Camp Cool Kidz
This episode is eh....? I love my tiny rebellious children, but I really hate Ered in this episode. It just feels… so unlike her. I get it, it’s the start of her ark, but really and truly I disliked her character in this episode. On the other hand, Nikki is me trying to flirt with other women. She’s my little baby Pansexual, and I love her to death. Honestly, I really enjoy Nikki episodes, so yeah. Also, the literal moment I began to love Gwen with the “Stab her bitch!” line.
37:Quest to Sleepy Peak Peak
Honestly, I almost never watch this episode, but I still really like it. Nerris’s lines, the battle between two magic folk, the one liners, the ending, oh it was really good. However, some of the parts were boring, it’s not the best, but it’s still pretty good. Whatever, I like Nerrison and magic, so boom.
36:Escape from Camp Campbell
Honestly, what a classic. First episode, Gwen being overall great, “No Running”, Max being a tiny Satan, Nikki and Neil being amazing. But, once again, it’s the first episode, which means some things aren’t the best. But! I do enjoy this one, and watch it sometimes.
35:Mind Freakers
Eh… It’s pretty ok. We love Harrison and Neil being jerks to each other, and we love Max having an identity crisis, but all I could really think through this was “Poor Max” and “This is a really stupid and petty fight”. It really is petty, which isn’t bad, but I feel like ti was an odd episode. Not bad, I thoroughly enjoy it, I just couldn’t swallow normal for a few days….
One I really like/ Second highest ranking:
34:Romeo and Juliet 2: Love Resurrected
Bon Bon~! Yay! We love David for having a Tinder, for Max’s amazing performance, and the drama! That being said, it’s overall a pretty good episode! Not the best, but pretty good!
33:Mascot
Welp, I feel like you all know what I’m getting at. The jokes are well landed, Muack appears for the first time ( and steals the show, and that’s the tea), and my girl Nikki is so precious. Quartermaster is weird as hell, and speaking of which…
32: Quartermaster Appreciation Day
I know, it’s gross, it’s weird, I hate the relationship almost as much as I can, but this episode is so freaking funny. So many of the jokes are well timed, some classic lines come from this episode, and Quartermaster being his weird self is a major playing factor.
31: Space Camp was a hoax
More Gwen and David being two idiots sharing one brain cell? Hell yes, lay it on me. Space Kid is so funny, and his inner dialouge is fantastic. Also, Nikki cursing is incredible, even if it isn’t really on screen. Gwen’s line “Is this what success feels like?” is a major mood, and I just generally think it’s a good episode.
30: Ered gets her cool back
We love Nerris and Ered’s relationship in this household, ok? Older sporty sister spends time with dorky younger sister who has more common sense? Bigger sister gets better at being with other people and learns a lot form the experience? Nikki”s outfit? All major amazing things I love in this episode. But, the plot was a little eh, and I got second hand embarrassment.
29:Jasper dies at the end
All I have to say is H O O E Y
28:Cameron Campbell can’t handle the truth serum
Dolph’s autstic? Oh, ok, that’s pretty cool! We love representation. Anyways, this was an odd episode. Not good, not bad, just… odd. The therapy and plant jokes made my dad have to come in and check on me because I was laughing so loud, and most of the other jokes hit well. But it was… eh plot wise. It was pretty good joke wise though!
27:Journey to Spooky Island
Jasper, Quartermaster’s ahem… thing, and Max screaming were the best things in this episode. This episode is pretty great if I do say so myself, but this is ranked lower because I did not need to imagine Quartermaster like that. Excuse while I go burn out my eyeballs.
26: Camporee
Fuck Pikeman. All my homies hate Pikeman. No seriously, he is my least favorite character on the show. His sexism and gross advances really get to me, and the way he treats Gwen is disgusting. Now I have that out of the way, I actually enjoyed this episode, except for Pikeman. Hot take, I know. I’ve seen the Pikeman X Reader stuff on Wattpad. Whatever, back to the topic. Episode was good overall, especially the lesson. Each person’s talents were fantastic, and the ending itself was great.
25:Camp Corp
We stan business Gwen and her telling Nancy to shut up.I love the plot, forcing three people who usually don’t work together to solve a common problem. I love that, and it does make for an interesting story. However, there are some flaws to the episode, but it’s overall pretty fantastic!
24:Follow the Leader
Are you kidding me? This was a great idea. Funny, creative, inventive, and overall pretty good. Playing with how each character leads was a great idea, and very inventive to give them all a common goal. Why it’s so low is personal pettiness. Pikeman, and Jasper was probably on the island when it blew up.
23:Squirrel Camp
Why is this so high up? *Looks at notes* Oh yeah, it’s so stupid I actually like it. No, but for real though, I know people don’t like this one as much as I do, but I think it’s pretty funny. Sure, dumb idea and kind of mediocore, but to me it’s so fun and entertaining. I’m sorry if you don’t agree, but you can make your own list if you’d like. It’s such a weird plot it’s entertaining. You get me?
22:Panicked Room
I just really like this episode, no rhyme or reason. It’s really funny and romantic, and the interactions were so good. David and Gwen through this episode were amazing for the mere seconds they were on screen, but it was overall pretty good!
21: City Survival
I couldn’t remember much of what happened in this so I ended up rewatching it. We love Dirty Kevin, David’s reaction to the city, and David being a homeless twink. Gwen also has the fancy outfit in this episode, and I am all for that.
20: Cookin Cookies
Three girls accidentally start a meth lab and go all breaking bad? Hell yes. It’s funny, the completion of everyone getting father figures, and it’s an overall good idea. It’s creative, good, it’s amazing. I really wanted to know what the main three were doing though, I’m actually kinda curious. Anyways, good story, and very enjoyable.
19:Keep the change
I found this episode very entertaining! Dadvid, Campbell getting better, funny moments, and a good plot! It’s really a great episode, and establishes what the season will be about. In fact, I believe I have themes for all the seasons:
Season 1:Beginnings
Season 2: Family
Season 3:Friends
Season 4: Change
18:Parent’s Day
Ok, Ok, know, Dadvid, but really I feel like this episode is a tiny bit overhyped. I love the Dadvid, Candy and Carl (Except I really don’t ship Neil/Nikki anymore), and how Max’s … situation is handled. Yes, I am on the side of thinking Max’s parents are abusive or at least ignorant. They just don’t care, and that’s where Max’s attitude comes from. It was well handled, and I very much like this episode.
17:Dial M for Jasper
I love Jasper with all of my heart, and watching his backstory was both heartbreaking and amazing. It wasn’t what I was expecting, but I thoroughly enjoyed it. Watching it made me hate Campbell more than I did, and I expect the episode where David finds out about Jasper would be heartbreaking. David most likely screams and curses at Campbell, and takes off. I’m hoping Gwen runs after him, but that’s wishful thinking.\
16:David gets hard
The ending is amazing, I love learning about Nurf’s trauma, and watching Gwen,Max, and David scheming is incredible. It was interesting to see Nurf's side of the story, and it was pretty good. Enough said.
15:Cult Camp
Yes, it is high. The song is amazing, the plot is amazing, and Daniel’s stupidity is amazing. He is a very good villain, and it works with the comedy of the show. If everyone wants, I will write an essay on Daniel and what he means to the show. Anyways, good episode, funny and inventive.
14:Bounjour Bonqueesha
Oh, what to say about this episode! I love Bon Bon, but her breaking up with David an hour before their date? Not so cool. Whatever. Watching Gwen comfort David made my day, my week, my month. It was amazing. The “I’m a girl” line was extremely funny, because me too Nikki. Me too. Anyways, loved it!
13:The Lake Lilac Summer Social
Oh, what an episode! Gwenvid, Makki (I sorta ship it? Eh?), love triangles, Gwen going ship crazy (me too, man, me too), and David being level headed for once. Uh, so glad this episode exists. Only bad part, Pikeman and Jeremy. That’s literally it.
12:Operation: Charlie Tango Foxtrot
The ending was gross, but whatever. No judgement. Funny episode, and I love how the experimented with the points of view. Petrol’s side was a nice gag and it was overall a good episode! No complaints other than the weird ending.
11:After hours
Honestly, this is a tie with the next one. It is a great look at what happens after all the kids go to bed, what Gwen and David have to deal with, and what goes on outside the camp. The Gwenvid is strong with this episode! It’s really funny and creative. Also, ChibiKawaiiCat97 is absolutely a real username out there, I’m sure it is. Gwen deserves all the good things.
My Favs!
10:Scout’s Dishonor
Neeancy, my child! Yeah! Also, Neil cursing out of nowhere? Amazing. It’s so high up because it actually was the first episode I saw a clip off! It’s what got me into Camp Camp overall, but it’s not listed up there because I do like others better.
9:The Forest
I know, not number one. It’s an amazing episode, with a great plot and a good lesson, but I physically cannot watch it without sniffling. Yes, I know, I’m pathetic for crying at this, but I really see the pain. You can feel the fear in his voice, and it always makes me so sad. Whatever, I still love this episode.
8:Into Town
I mean, I have no rhyme or reason, I just love this one. I can’t even think of a flaw for this one! It’s kind of an amazing thing! A lovely episode with good visuals and amazing dialogue!
7:The Butter Fingered Effect
An amazing episode about change. I love Neil cracking, Ered becoming a nerd, Nikki becoming a scientist, and the counselor outfit swap. I appreciate Gwen wearing David’s clothes, because that’s amazing. I like the theme of change that fits with Season 4. Good episode with almost no flaws!
6:Eggs Benefits
I love Max and Nikki interacting, trying to take care of the egg and Nikki basically having a panic attack. I just love Nikki episodes in general, ok? Don’t judge. Whatever. Preston and Nurf, were um, problematic, to say the least. Whatever, the ending was funny, and this episode is dear to my heart.
5.Camp Loser says what?
Wow… Gwen in a wood scout uniform is actually really pretty! Entire episode was pretty much a fanfiction come to life, and we love the team for that. Uh, I yearn for more fanfic like episodes. God, if you have followed me for long enough, you’d know I would love for the fans ideas to become canon.Anyway, good plot, glad Daniel came back in this way and Pan and/or Bi David is canon
4:Nikki’s Last Day on Earth
I wasn’t expecting that! Honestly, I didn’t see the twist and thought it was a good idea! Funny, creative, and shows off Max’s jerkiness. We love Max development and amazing plots. We also love a Mother and Daughter relationship between Gwen and Nikki. More of that please1
3:Gwen gets a job
This is so damn creative, I love this episode so much. Gwenvid fuel, Max being a terrible person, Gwen breaking down and David comforting her. I bet Gwen never heard a speech that encouraging in her life…
2:Party Pooper
I know you thought this was going to be number one! Haha, tricked you! But really, this is an amazing episode. The way Gwen bonds with her father, the beautiful scene at the end, the background, everything. I love a good “Gwen is underappreciated” episode, and that’s why this gets second. Almost no flaws! Which leads to number one….
1:Something Fishy!
What an amazing episode! I have never seen “Shape of Water”, but this one is just incredible. Gwen is an underappreciated overworked mess, and she finds what seems likes the perfect option. But turns out it isn’t what it seems, and it’s amazing. Also, this episode has so much Gwenvid fuel, it’s amazing. The art is amazing, Gwen’s dress is amazing, it’s all perfect. No flaws here for me!

“Pick them up at five? You know my boss will murder me.” He tries to convince her, clearly stressed. Stanley huffs, looking at the clock. His lunch break is ending soon.
“He will not, baby! He loves you and can excuse this one time, alright?” She responds and he sighs. There's no response from Stan for a while. She takes that as a no. “Fine! I'll pick them up.” She gives in and can hear Stanley laughing into the phone. “But there's one thing you have to do for me, then. You know which one.” She teases.
“Oh, no. Please, pick something else.” He begs her, but now she laughs. “I'll—I'll paint your nails! Anything but watching that movie.”
“How dare you speak like that about my favorite thing in the whole world!” She exclaims in a theatrical voice.
“Please. Don't the painted nails sound nice?” Stan presses. She groans, but says nothing for a little while.
“Alright, fine. That's only because your friends are coming.” Y/N clarifies and Stanley chuckles.
“My one free pass! Yes!” He cheers. “I'll see you at six, then.”
“Yes, my love. See you at six.” She responds with a loving smile that turns her voice full of love, too. “I love you.”
“And I love you more.” He states it as a fact before ending the call. “Oh, goodness, am I ready for this?” Stanley asks himself.
He got a call last night from one of his best friends, Ben Hanscom. They had quite the open conversation, Stanley putting Ben on speaker as both their wives listened. Ben threw the idea of all the Losers meeting up and Y/N said they could do it at their house, the Uris household. The rest were ecstatic about the idea and Ben said he'll call up the rest of their friends to notify about this spontanious plan. They settled for half past seven, which is in only five and a half hours.
Y/N has never met Stanley's childhood friends. She heard the whole story about them when one of them, Mike Hanlon, called up Stanley while he was on vacation with Y/N and the kids. Said there was an emergency and that he needed to come home. But he couldn't. He'd finally found something good in his life, he finally had someone (now more than one) worth living for and they were together on a well-deserved vacation. Stanley couldn't leave, and Mike understood.
He's nervous about whether she'll like them, whether they'll like her. How the kids will react to his friends. Would they be scared at first? No, they'll be fine. A four year old and an eight year old aren't that afraid anymore. But what happens when Richie starts joking around? Oh, no. He's always been the joker kind, but what really loosens him up is alcohol, and with that in his system, Richie Tozier is unstoppable.
Stan decides to hope for the best and not let his nerves eat him up. He's going to see his friends! After all this time. And he was the second one after Mike who remembers everything best. He's missed them so much. At times, he could feel a physical ache in his chest just because of how much he misses his friends. Now he's about to see them in a little less than six hours. He can't wait.
Seven-fifteen. The food is ready, the table is set, the kids... are not dressed.
“Nathaniel! Come back here to Daddy.” Stan calls out, exhasparated. He holds his son's jeans in his hands, sitting down on his bed, head in hands, as well. He's been trying to get his son to calm down for at least half an hour now. He just won't. “You can't sit at a dinner with no pants, buddy.” He tries to make a point.
But Nathaniel only giggles and gets up in his in-door swing and starts swinging. Stanley sighs, clearly on the verge of giving up, but upon looking really into what his son is doing, gets an idea.
“You wanna swing? Alright, let's swing.” He says and stands up, walking over to his on and his swing. Nathaniel giggles. Stanley gently pushes the swing so Nathaniel would swing higher and watches with a mischievous smile as he does. When Nathaniel's gone quite high on the swings and has been swinging for a few minutes, at least, Stanley grabs his son and, using the swing's advantage, slips the jeans up the little boy's legs.
He squeals and laughs, pretending that it tickles him. They both are laughing, and Y/N can't tell who's laughing harder as she watches the whole ordeal from the other end of the hallway. She's even filming it on her phone, Stanley notices.
“Oh, come on! A way to torture your poor husband even more!” He calls out, but means no harm. All three of them are laughing. Stanley takes Nathaniel out of the swings, the little boy squealing more, and puts him down on the ground. “You naughty little thing!” He says to his son and pinches his nose gently. It only makes him laugh more, and he runs back to his bed. “Now put on your socks, you little maniac.” Stanley tells his son, pointing a finger at him. Nathaniel points one right back, which makes Stan smile.
He sighs as he stands up and pushes past the swings. Y/N goes back into the kitchen to finish the starters she began to make before hearing the mess of a situation in the hallway.
Stanley knocks on his daughter's door, which is partly closed, and recieves a quiet “come in” in response. “How's my little princess?” He asks, opening the door wider and walking into her room. Little Louise is sitting in front of her vanity, her fingers working on tearing up her braids. Stanley smiles wide, pushes his glasses further up his nose. Partly making sure he's not dreaming of such a beautiful daughter. “Why are you taking those out?” He asks.
Stanley walks over to where his daughter is sitting and kneels in front of her. She looks at him. “I wanted curly hair just like yours, Daddy.” She tells him and Stan smiles even wider. She pulls on one of the curls that hang over his forehead. “But my hair is just like Mommy's.” Louise then says with a frown.
“Aw, don't fret, princess. When you'll grow older, it will be just like mine.” Stanley tells her. “I promise.” He adds and winks at his daughter. She smiles. “Are you excited?”
“I think you're excited, Daddy.” She says when she's turned back to look at her reflection in the mirror.
What makes you think that?”
“Well, I think that when I'm going to be old and meet the friends I have now, I'd be excited, too.” She tells him. Her statement makes Stanley double over with laughter. Louise doesn't really understand what her father's laughing at, but she smiles.
“So I'm old?” He finally asks. “Baby, 40 years old does not mean I'm old.”
“Yeah, but you're old-er.” She points out. She's finished with her braids and shakes her head a little so that all the hair would go back in place. Stanley watches with the most loving eyes he's ever layed upon someone. Louise stands up from the bench and Stanley finally gets to see how she's dressed.
“You look so pretty, my little princess.” He tells her. Louise reaches out to take her father's hands and he lets her, gladly. “When did mommy buy you this dress? I don't think I've seen one so beautiful before.”
“Today, while we were walking home.” Louise tells him. “That's why we were a bit late.” Stanley chuckles. “You look nice, too, Daddy.”
Stanley can admit that he's blushing. “Thanks, angel.”
The doorbell rings for the first time that evening. Stanley jumps a little because it was so sudden. Out of instinct, he looks behind him and then back at Louise.
“Wanna go meet my friends?” He asks her and she nods with a smile. Stanley stands up and lets go of only one of Louise's hands, holding the other tight in his own.
They walk into the hallway and Nathaniel joins them from his room, having heard the doorbell, too. He takes Stanley's other hand, though he is shorter than Louise and has to reach higher than his sister does.
Y/N has already opened the front door of their house when the rest of the Uris family stand in the living room. “Hi!” She greets whoever is at the door. Stan would have liked to have a surprise about who's at the door first, but hearing the cheery voice of Beverly Marsh and the, apparently, deep rumble of Ben Hanscom gave the surprise away. Another voice joins in on the greetings. Is that the Richie Tozier?
Stanley fights the emotional tears that prick his eyes. He really hadn't prepared for this moment. The moment he meets his friends. His children would be much confused if they saw their dad crying and having no explanation for it. So he only grasps their little hands tighter and braces himself to see the first two friends of the evening.
“You must be Y/N.” Beverly says and the two women embrace. “So glad to meet Stan's wife.”
“I would say we've heard a lot about you, but we've actually heard nothing.” Richie says and the four people laugh. “I'm Richie.”
“I could tell.” Y/N says, nodding. “And you're Beverly and Ben. So good to have you guys over. You're the first ones.” She says. “Come in, come in. He's already waiting for you.”
“Too anxious to meet us first, I bet.” Ben says and the voice grow louder as they near the kitchen and living room. “Left you to the task.” Y/N only laughs at Ben's statement.
Beverly and Y/N exchange small banter about what the three have brought with them, flowers, gifts, dessert, wine. But Stan doesn't hear anything when he sees Ben and Richie entering the living room. The world stops.
“Stanley!” Richie's the first to speak and he wants to run up to his long-lost best friend. But he stops once he sees two little children at each of his side. “Kids!” Is all he can get out in surprise. Ben laughs. Stanley smiles.
Stanley lets go of his kids' hands and runs up to his best friends, doing what they all want to do. “Ben.” He greets the man first. He cannot believe what he looks like now. And is that really Ben or someone else who's pretending to be him?
“Stan the man.” Ben responds. Their embrace is tight and means everything to both of them. Stanley closes his eyes, savouring the moment. “So good to see you, buddy.”
“You, too, Ben.” Stanley responds. “But is this really you? You've changed so much...” He says after the two have pulled apart. “You look like Captain America or something.”
The men laugh. “I couldn't believe it, either, at first.” Richie says. Stan looks at him and immediately hugs him, almost making them both fall over.
“Richie!” Stanley cries. His best friend. His best, best, best. His first friend, who at first he couldn't believe he could stand enough to befriend. Stanley lets himself cry with no shame, tears pouring down his cheeks and onto Richie's back.
“It's so good to see you, Stan.” Richie admits and sniffs, as well. Ben pats both their backs, wanting to join in on the hug. But he decides to make aquintance with Stanley's kids.
“Hi there.” Ben says after squatting down to their level. “I'm Ben. One of your dad's friends.” He reaches out his hand for them to shake. The little girl does it first, then her brother. Nathaniel has grown shy all of a sudden. “What are your names?”
“I'm Louise. My brother's name is Nathaniel.” The daughter speaks first, as well. Ben smiles. “It's nice to meet you, Ben.”
“Rich, where's Eddie? Is he not coming? Has something happened?” Stanley questions, eyes showing worry. Eddie was always where Richie was and it's so strange to see one without the other.
“No, no, everything's fine with him now. He'll be a bit late because of a doctor's appointment.” Richie explains. “We've got a lot to tell you, pal.” He refers to what Stanley 'missed out on', the result of Mike Hanlon's call. Stanley frowns at Richie's words. Are they mad at him for not coming when Mike called?
“Stanley, honey.” Beverly says before Uris can ask anymore questions. She embraces him and then pulls away, taking his face between her hands and looking at Stanley closely. “I'm so glad you're safe and... here.” She says, and it confuses Stan. “Your eyes have gotten darker, Stanley.” She points out. “They used to be in the color of acorns.” Stanley smiles.
“Gosh, it's so great to see you guys.” He admits and wipes his fallen tears. “After all these years.” Another doorbell ring. “I'll get that.” Stanley volunteers and walks through the kitchen, passing his wife. He looks at her and wants to say something, but she reads his mind before he can.
“Go get your friends.” She says, telling him with her eyes that she'll stay with the children and his already arrived friends. Stan nods and before he can get the door, Y/N kisses him sweetly as a confirmation of what she just told him.
Stanley opens the door and is greeted by the rest of the Losers. Looks like Kaspbrak won't be so late, after all.
“Stanley!” The three men cry out of happiness in unison. Although Bill, as always, stutters his name. They all embrace together in a group hug, patting backs and vocalising their gladness of seeing each other. They don't ever want to let go of each other.
“So glad to see you, man. I can't believe we're all here, in one piece.”
“A seventh-piece, Eddie. You're still the same, Uris. Haven't changed a bit.”
“We're s-so glad you're he-here, Stan.”
“What do you mean? You're the ones that came over.” Stanley laughs, but it's followed by a silence. “Come on, come inside. What are we waiting for?” Stanley opens the door wide enough for his three friends to come through. They've each got a bag with them.
Stanley watches his friends. How they've changed, how they've aged. How different they look. But at the same time, nothing's different about them. At the very same moment, they're the same kids he remembers 27 years ago in the meadow by the river.
“Put the bags on the counter for now.” Stanley suggests, sensing his friends' question already in the air. “Dinner's already on the table.” He announces and leads Eddie, Bill and Mike into the living room from the ktichen.
“Hey!” The rest of the losers cheer upon seeing their three friends arrived. Everyone cheers. The Losers club embrace and laugh and smile. Everyone's smiling and happy and content and excited. Stanley thinks, I've never felt happier in my life. Only if you count out the birth of his two children and his wedding, that is. But this moment is so much like the mentioned ones.
Stanley's broken out of his trance of happiness and watching his friends converse when little Louise runs up to him. He looks down at her with the happiest face she's ever seen on her Daddy. She stretches out her arms towards him, a sign for him to take her up, and he does.
He picks her up and situates Louise on his hip, her arms going around his neck to hold onto. “Are you happy, Daddy?” She asks and Stanley sobs, tears once again streaming in rivers down his face.
“Yes, princess, I'm very happy.” He answers and rests his own head against Louise's. She touches his cheeks with her small hands and wipes the fallen tears from her father's cheeks. Stanley looks at her as she does so, very happy and so emotional in the exact moment.
“Stan, you old lady, the food's growing cold!” Richie calls out to his friend, and everyone chuckles while there's a quiet “Beep-beep, Richie” from one of the Losers. Stan then looks into the living room and sees all his friends and his wife have sat down at the table.
Richie sits next to Eddie, but the comedian is already making banter with young Nathaniel to his right. Beverly across Tozier, next to Ben who's talking with his old pal Bill. The empty seat next to Beverly is meant for Louise, and she hurries to claim it, climbing down from her father's embrace. Mike sits across Bill and Y/N has sat at the end of the table where her children sit. Stanley walks over to the table and sits down at his rightful place at the other end of the table, his wife straight ahead of him.
His best friends are looking at him with cheerful and bright faces. Hopeful, excited, glad, loving... Happy. Stanley gives them a smile, the best and prettiest he can. They're all here, together in his family's house, sitting at his table. All united. Friends again.
“A toast?” Y/N proposes, raising an eyebrow and smiling at her husband. Stanley nods and sniffs. The Losers and the Urises all raise a glass, the kids' glasses filled with black currant juice so that they wouldn't be left out, and hold them in the air as Stanley starts to speak.
“I... I didn't prepare anything.” He admits and his friends understand. How could he be prepared for this wonderful, breathtaking event ever in his life? “I honestly never thought I'd see you guys again. I never thought I'd see something like this in my whole life.” Stanley says. “Never thought this day would come. But I so hoped. And I missed all of you so much.” His wife offers Stanley a comforting smile, an encouraging one, as well. She sees how happy and thankful he is to be once again with his childhood friends. Maybe she doesn't know it, but Y/N sees how much they mean to him, how much they have always meant to him.
“I presumed, realistically, that something must have happened to each of us. That maybe we'd truly never see each other again. Never be the Losers Club again. Never see each of us grow up and do what we always wanted to, make our childhood dreams come true. Maybe I was just... afraid that something might happen to us, and I believed it.
“But I realised with time that you cannot believe in fear. It's fictional and, quite frankly, a disease. If you live your life in fear, you don't get to have the things we all have now. At least the things I do have.” He adds and his friends all laugh. “So, I propose a toast to us all. Grown-up Losers. A toast to see each other as often as possible and keep the bond stronger than ever.” Stanley finishes and needs to wipe his nose again. “To the Losers Club! And the big family we grow to be!”
“To The Losers Club and the big family we grow to be!” Everyone repeats and clinks their glasses together. Together is what they were made to be.

Class 1-A Girls as Roommates
Oh, my god, they were roommates
Momo Yaoyorozu
First of all, you lucky bastard I hate you. Secondly, I’d like to make the point that Momo is wealthy af and has no financial need of a roommate. So, if you two are living, you’re probably already great friends with her or more.
Momo loves to share. She is an extremely generous person, so she'll totally offer you some of her food when she cooks and even some of her shower products.
Totally lets you borrow her clothes. Different sizes? She's gotchoo! Can and will create the best clothes for you. This is especially helpful if you have a date.
Speaking of her Quirk, its usefulness becomes really apparent when you two first move in and are still figuring out where things are or what you still need for the house. Bought that knife set but somehow forgot a can opener? Momo’s gotchoo again.
A great communicator and takes the initiative to make sure you guys are on the same page about chores. Despite her busy hero career, Momo still does a great job keeping up with her fair share.
Please sit and drink tea with her. She'd love it. Probably the best thing about being Momo's roommate is coming home at the end of the day to this beautiful woman omg are you're okay with just being roommates and catching up over cups of freshly brewed tea.
If something happens and you’re unable to pa your rent one month, Momo can cover it. Will not guilt or shame you over this. No matter what kind of petty roommate argument you two might have, she will never hold that over your head. Ever. Things happen, and Momo understands that.
The not so great...
Yaomomo is such a sweetie but...she's also a rich girl who is used to a lot space. Her furniture will fill up the whole apartment. An entire kitchen cabinet is stuffed to the brim with her teas, so you'd have to find some other space to shove your cereal.
Nonetheless, she tries very hard to be a good roommate - especially if it's her first place after moving out of her parents' house/school dorms - and this sometimes leads to her being overly accommodating. That and the above can lead to some tension between you two.
Momo has such long, beautiful hair...and it absolutely gets clogged in y'all's shower. Good luck.
Mina Ashido
Mina is the fun roommate! I’m talking late nights spent goofing off, playing video games and watching movies or even just talking if you want. If you two weren’t best friends before moving in together, guess what?
You’re best friends now. or more?
Alien Queen is also Snack Queen. Our pink homegirl buys lots of snacks and is more than happy to share.
Um, garbage? What garbage? Her Quirk dissolves it and that’s one utility y’all are saving money on now to get Kaminari to help with the electricity
No matter how bad your day was, how shitty your boss, how long your commute, Mina can always make you laugh. Which is a nice way to end an otherwise completely shit day.
Actually pretty good about keeping the apartment tidy! Living in the UA dorm taught her a lot about being considerate of shared spaces and she’s always out and about anyway. So almost no worries about messes
Because she’s either out and about or doing patrols, you actually get the apartment to yourself quite a bit?? Ummm, SCORE! Until you start missing your pink roomie/bestie
That is, if she’s not inviting/dragging you out to do stuff with her! If you’re someone who needs a bit of prompting to get out of the house, Mina is great for that!
Also...the roommate who is constantly trying to hook you up with her friends. Like, I’m serious. If you’re not already seeing anyone, this die hard romantic will constantly try to set you up with people hey, roomie, pls introduce me to Kirishima. You won’t need a dating app ‘cause Mina Ashido is your roommate and girl knows everybody.
The not so great...
If you're pretty introverted or just really prefer quiet at home, being roommates with Mina can be hard. Mina is a social butterfly - loud and bubbly and all these other wonderful qualities that simultaneously don't mesh well with most introverts.
Speaking of social butterfly, she invites her friends over. A lot. And y’all know that the Bakusquad spells c h a o s
It would also not surprise me if Mina had a number of...ahem, overnight guests. So prepare for extra (awkward) company at breakfast.
Sometimes gets so caught up in her social life, all those hobbies, and hero work that...she forgets that rent or utilities are due. Whoops. You’ll have to remind her sometimes. 😬
Good luck if you have wooden floorboards. Mina loves to dance and this means a lot of scuff marks.
Ochaco Uraraka
This cutie! 12/10 would room with her if I could
When she first started UA, Ochaco had to move to Musutafu and live on her on which I'm sure was a little scary for a 15-year-old girl and definitely lonely. She wasn't looking forward to being alone again after graduation but wait! She has you!
Really appreciates your presence in your shared home and will undoubtedly cherish you, even treating you like family. It makes her so happy when she comes home after a long day of patrols and having someone respond when she says, "I'm home!" Ochaco, lemme be your housewife
Video game nights with Dekusquad? Video game nights with Dekusquad!
Pretty clean and always does her dishes which automatically puts her the top tier of roommate categories, let’s be real.
She knows where all the deals are, when certain sales are happening, and where to go for the best discounts. And she shares all this hard-earned knowledge with her precious roomie (that's you, boo). Grocery shopping with her is intense because she gets super competitive about getting those deals before everyone else but it's also so much fun.
Master couponer. You knows those ladies that clip so many coupons that they sort them into little bags and actually sell them in bundles? That's Ochaco. She's even part of some online couponing groups.
But she always hands you the coupons for your favorite snacks.
The not so great..
Ochaco works really, really hard and takes on a lot of missions. So, when she gets home, the usually upbeat hero can be a little...grouchy. By grouchy, I mean snappy and sulky and -- who is this woman and what did she do to your sweet, adorable roommate?
Seriously, just don’t talk to her or make a lot of noise until she sleeps for 10+ hours and eats or she might send you floating to your shared ceiling.
That roommate who will get on you if you leave any of the lights on or stay in the shower for too long. She is NOT shelling out extra cash on utilities next month because of you!! honestly same
Toru Hagakure
Another fun roommate!
We’ve seen her room, and we can tell by looking at it that she loves to decorate. If you (probably) have different tastes than hers, Toru will find ways to compromise and combine both your preferences to decorate your shared apartment! You know what that means?
Ikea trips. Toru’s enthusiasm alone makes it so much fun but it’s not as fun when you inevitably lose her in that Swedish labyrinth. (Hint: Check the various kids’ sections. She got distracted by the cute plushies.)
If you two are not constantly updating your interior design, you’re at least adding to it. it makes the space just uniquely yours and feel so homey.
Toru has some real 👌👌 taste in movies. Her movie collection makes for some awesome movie nights. Bring all the blankets, plushies, and the like and you’re in for a chill night.
Out of everyone on this list, I feel like she’ll be the easiest to convince to get a pet. She skips the “well, who is gonna pay for food?” talk and doesn’t spend any too much time deliberating over her busy hero schedule - just jumps right on in to the nearest adoption agency.
Congrats, you’re now parents of an adorable, slightly grumpy rescue cat. Which - bonus - actually makes it so much easier keeping track of Toru because it’s almost always brushing against her legs or on her lap.
The not so great...
Definitely the nosy roommates. She wants to know all the details about your life and is the type to peak into your room because she's curious. Her Quirk only makes all the easier for her.
She likes to leave cute or funny messages on the fogged up bathroom mirror or with magnets on the fridge which is cute but...unnerving when an invisible being sends you random messages in your apartment.
....and according to the wiki, she loves hidden-camera prank shows? Welcome to Jackass, roomie. You’re gonna get pranked.
Also because of her Quirk, she often has to remove her clothes to make full use of her invisibility but this has also lead to a bad habit of leaving articles of clothing throughout the apartment. You often find random socks and gloves and even shirts out throughout the apartment.
Tsuyu Asui
A+ roomie. Seriously, give this girl all a gold star.
Super tidy, super considerate, and super stoked to live with you. She’s used to a full house and honestly wasn’t so sure about living on her own straight after graduation. Then came you!
Tsuyu looooves to cook with you. If your cooking skills need work, she’ll happily teach you. Out of everyone else on this list, you share the most meals together.
Soooo many blankets and pillows in your apartment! Tsu needs the extra layers during winter and honestly, just build a blanket fort for you two. It’s great. just roommates huh?
Absolutely will text you just to check in if she makes it home before you and has no problem either waiting up for you or even walking to meet if it’s dark. And honestly, what’s better than
Being super straightforward, Tsuyu always lets you know if there’s something up with the apartment or just if she’d like you to be a little quieter coming home. Also an observant person and checks in on your needs/preferences as well. Y’all rarely have any typical roommate spats because she’s direct and makes sure to communicate.
We stan a sweet, considerate frog roommate in this household.
The not so great...
Because she grew up taking care of two younger siblings and then lived with the entire 1-A class (19 teenagers in one building -- that's insane) in the dorms, Tsuyu actually has little tolerance for messes in common spaces.
Tsuya Asui ain’t your momma. You're both adults and you both pay rent, so she expects you clean up after yourself and will call you out if you don't.
Especially about those dishes left in the sink. You can say that you just left the pots in there "to soak", but Tsuyu ain't buying it. And she tells you as much.
Not above shaming your messes on her Snap story i’m that petty roommate or bringing up that you forgot to take out the trash in front of other people.
Kyouka Jirou
She's the cool roommate. By that, I mean the one you’re lowkey bragging about when you describe her to your friends. Girl is a hero, plays pretty much every instrument, and is just a cool person in general. It’s hard not to brag.
Seriously, just her mere presence alone makes your place at least 70% cooler than it would have been if you lived by yourself. That’s how cool she is.
Super respectful of your privacy. Like, she won’t even know what your room actually looks like unless you actually invite her in.
Great roommate banter. Kyouka has a great dry sense of humor and likes to tease people, so you two can go back and forth all day.
Great texter. She always gives you a heads up when people are over or if you guys need anything for the apartment. Bonus: lots of hilarious pics of Bakusquad being idiots.
Don't tell her that you can hear her when she sings in the shower; it'd just fluster her and make her self-conscious. But being able to listen to that amazing voice in your own home?👌👌👌
If you're someone who doesn't necessarily need or even want a tight knit relationship with a roommate, Kyouka is your best bet. She's generally really chill and won't get hyped over being best friends.
That said, she’s a pretty empathetic person and easy to talk to. She’ll absolutely stay up late with you just to talk if you need it. Gives great advice.
The not so great...
You will lose track over how many times you ask her to turn the music down.
Like Mina, Kyouka comes as a package deal with the Bakusquad. Kyouka doesn’t invite them over often because even she doesn’t want that chaos in her home but sometimes it’s inevitable.
She’s not much of a cook. Plus she’s pretty busy keeping up with her hero career, music, and group of friends, so she doesn’t have much free time anyway. This means she orders out - a lot. Good news? Hardly any friction over cleaning dishes. Bad news? Her take out boxes leave little room in the fridge for your food.
BONUS: Regardless of who you room with, you’ll hardly ever worry about a break-in or any crime in your neighborhood because your roommate is a professional hero and will kick any home intruder stupid enough to try anything.

Good Girls 3x01 Thoughts and A Very Bad Attempt at Speculation
What an episode! I felt like we were moving at breakneck speed and the commercial breaks weren’t enough time for me to catch my breath. It was super fun to watch the episode live with everyone and freak out together, even though I doubt I’ll be able to pull it off next week.
Anyway, if it’s not obvious, I really loved the episode and now that I’ve had some time to digest everything that happened, I have a lot of thoughts.
Opening Montage
This show loves a good montage, particularly an opening montage. This one did not disappoint and really dove straight into the meat of the episode, which was Beth struggling with her guilt over shooting Rio (see below) and the girls trying to perfect their counterfeit cash.
I love that there was no dilly-dallying. No prolonged pretense that the girls are law-abiding citizens now. Nope, they’re trying to do everything they can to get their money-making hustle started up. All the jobs make so much sense:
Beth - she loves crafting, she uses it all the time and she’s good at it. There’s literally no place that makes more sense for her to work at!
Ruby - I recall from last season that she had a friend who worked at a nail salon and did her nails for Thanksgiving and it just makes sense that she would be good at doing nails since hers have always been on point during the last two seasons.
Annie - the shot where she was skidding into view was perfect! The job fits so well with her recklessness and I felt like it was such a good callback to her driving the Porsche in 1x01.
Beth’s Guilt
I know people have had a lot of thoughts regarding this. I agree with some of them and not so much with others. Personally, I think it was well-handled overall and I don’t think we’ve seen everything that this storyline has to offer yet. We’re only on episode 1 of a 16 episode season!
One of the main complaints I’ve seen is that Beth was pretty flippant at times with the fact that she killed Rio, saying things like “I don’t wanna bring him back” and “I think we could take him because I’m guessing he’s mostly skull.” While I agree that these remarks are flippant and disrespectful, I also think it’s really significant that this only happened in the presence of other people, like Ruby, Annie and Dean. In the first instance, with Ruby and Annie, I think she was trying to downplay the extent of how messed up she must have been feeling to have approached Rhea and Marcus in the first place; by saying that she doesn’t want Rio back, it makes it seem as though her only intent was to try to help Rhea and Marcus in some way, rather than because of the fact that she has been profoundly traumatised by what happened. Don’t even get me started on the fact that Ruby points out “It’s not going to bring him back!” This is Beth’s best friend and sister and for her to feel the need to point this out shows that she recognises that there is something extremely unhealthy about Beth’s behaviour but also that it’s about more than just guilt.
With Dean, I think it’s notable that he apologised about the fact he brought up Rio, acknowledging that it might be a trigger for Beth. That indicates that over the 4 month time skip that we’ve had, it’s potentially an issue that has come up. By living in the same household as her, he maybe picked up on the fact that she is not, in fact, okay. Trigger is a word that is very much used in the context of mental health issues and it’s significant to me that even Dean has picked up on this. Furthermore, she never even mentioned that she was going to paint the girls’ room purple to him; she clearly doesn’t value his opinion very much and we know that Beth is a fairly emotionally clammed-up character; I can’t see her revealing the slightest thing to Dean about how she feels regarding Rio’s death, beyond her crying and collapsing into Dean in 2x13 following the shock and trauma of it all.
Another thing that’s important to acknowledge is that nobody, not Dean and not even Ruby or Annie, knew what Beth and Rio were to each other. Hell, Beth didn’t even know what they were to each other. They shifted from antagonists, to two people who were orbiting around one another, back to antagonists, to two people who had sex, to business partners, to friends (and very tentatively on Beth’s part, Rio was a confidante for her), to lovers and then to ‘work’. There was probably so much more in between and a lot of overlap. Even the terminology I’ve used here doesn’t really fit their relationship! I mean, it’s hard to put the label of lovers on Beth and Rio when they had sex twice and never even had a defined sexual relationship. And they were always orbiting around one another. They still are. They never interacted once in this episode and yet Rio’s shadow hangs over almost all of Beth’s scenes. These storylines are driving the plot forwards and this episode basically pulled that rope that’s been around the two of them for so long now even tighter.
Let’s bear in mind Ruby and, in particular, Annie’s reaction to finding out that Beth and Rio had sex; basically, they were shocked, horrifed and, on Annie’s part, judgemental. They never saw Beth and Rio in the moments that we, the audience, saw them in. In 2x09, Dean believed that Beth having sex with Rio was a direct consequence of him cheating when we know it wasn’t; Beth also hit Dean right where it hurts and said that she just really liked having sex with Rio but we know that she was emasculating Dean in that moment.
By acknowledging how torn up she is over Rio’s death, Beth would have to unpack everything she felt for Rio, after she ‘murdered’ him. She was never able to do this even while he was alive; in fact, she struggled to even acknowledge what was happening and the connection between them. If she shared this with the people in her lives, none of whom understood what she and Rio were to one another...well, what would be the point? He’s gone, she feels guilty and the truth is that guilt and remorse don’t bring people back from the dead.
We get it but they don’t and they never have.
The other complaint I’ve seen is that Beth’s guilt seems to be solely tied to taking Rio away from his son. I can partially understand this but I do think that it’s not the sole reason for Beth’s guilt and it certainly wasn’t the only reason for her guilt that was depicted in this episode. The opening montage alone is a terrific example of this.
It starts with Beth in this dimly lit environment and then when she snaps out of it and realises she’s in front of a customer, we see that she’s actually in a shop and the customer is in a brightly lit portion of it, in front of the counter, while it’s much darker behind Beth. It might mean nothing but the way that scene starts really indicates to me that thinking of Rio takes Beth to a dark place.
In the opening scene, Beth reflects on Rio. The man. The fact that this was a man she knew. But did she really? He’s gone now though. And she feels weird. Suddently confronted by the abruptness of death. There’s no mention of his family in this scene at all. She thinks mainly about his death, how it’s haunting her and how she isn’t sure if she ever really knew him. It’s clear to me that she doesn’t just feel guilty because of Marcus. The scene really underlines how much time Beth has spent thinking about Rio and about him alone.
Despite this, she has four kids. The introduction of Marcus in 2x01 gave Beth an insight into Rio’s life that he had carefully orchestrated to make her realise that they were more similar than she wanted to admit and that they had similar motivations. Their children are certainly not the only things in their lives that connect them. Beth and Rio see each other and they always have. They enjoy the thrill they get from crime but they also have families to provide for. It’s justified until it isn’t. Basically, I think Marcus being a major perpetuating factor for Beth’s guilt makes complete sense and it would be strange if this was less of a factor than it was portrayed as in this episode. They were both parents and of course Marcus is representative of the pain she caused when she shot Rio.
Rhea’s Cheque and Rio’s Money
I’m going to include this discussion here just because I think it links up nicely with Beth’s guilt. Also I weirdly love that Beth and Rhea were wearing the same colour in this scene. I don’t really know what it represents but Rhea has clearly opened up to Beth over the past 4 months and Beth opened up to Rhea in this scene, sharing her financial troubles, so maybe it has something to do with that.
It was so difficult to watch these events unfold on screen. I remember thinking gosh, I really hope Beth doesn’t cash that cheque but also kind of hoping she would because of the plot potential with the consequences of such an action.
Beth is at her very lowest here. I think the last time we saw her come close to this was when Dean took the kids in 2x08 and we saw the aftermath of that in 2x09. Emotionally, financially, ethically and morally, she has hit an absolute low and she knows it. She obviously feels like a crap person and spent the entire night thinking about cashing the cheque, about Rio, about Rhea and about Marcus. Honestly, it’s heartbreaking to watch.
I think it’s really important to highlight the financial burden she’s facing at the moment. She risks losing the roof over her family’s heads. Her kids’ heads. Her babies.
It’s also important to point out that, of the three girls, Beth is the only one who is in a dire financial situation right now. Stan is raking in the money at his new job, even though both he and Ruby clearly don’t love it, and the Hills are making ends meet for Sara’s post-transplant medications. Also, as they no longer seem to be paying a lawyer to have the charges against Stan dropped, it looks like that financial burden has been removed too. Annie no longer has to pay a custody lawyer and is not at risk of losing Sadie (I have no clue what happened with the drug felony charges; I think that was dropped as a storyline between seasons 1 and 2); I do think she needs money for hormonal blockade medication but it was not mentioned in this episode. My point is that, in this episode, it’s very clear that Beth is in big trouble financially and is imminently at risk of losing their family home.
I love that the writer’s aren’t shying away from the implications of such an action and that it’s a real moral dillema, both for Beth and for us as the audience. They aren’t portraying Beth as a sanctimonious individual in this episode. She doesn’t know that Rio’s coming for her so she has nothing to fear on that front in this episode. She ruminates for an entire night. Just because she thought long and hard about it doesn’t justify her actions. Of course it doesn’t! It’s still utterly reprehensible and she’s agonising over that. But it’s necessary. And I love that the writer’s are choosing to depict such a complex, deplorable act on screen by a main character!
New and Returning Side Characters
JT - I cannot even begin to describe how happy I was to see JT in the first episode. We knew he was returning from the news during hiatus but this was even better than I expected. The actor had such brilliant chemistry with Retta in season 2 and with Christina and Mae in 2x09. The four of them just clicked and were hilarious in the two scenes they shared in this episode. I wonder if the issue with him using Ruby’s address for access to her school district will be explored further in this season or if that storyline won’t be mentioned again, especially since it seems that scam is just running in the background now!
Lucy - She is just precious! I adore her already and Charlyne Yi is amazing. I am so consistently impressed by the casting for this show and I really feel like Charlyne is going to fill the James Lesure shaped hole in my heart right now. She clearly adores Oju (sorry if I’ve spelt that incorrectly!) and I’m starting to wonder if Annie kidnaps Oju as a way of preventing Lucy from getting in their way, for example, if she demands a cut or if she decides to tell someone about the counterfeit cash or take advantage of the girls in some other way, just like they have with her. Or perhaps Rio interacts with Lucy at some point this season? Oh my god. All the possibilities are making my head spin!
Krystal - What a genuine sweetheart! Noureen DeWulf did an incredible job and I pretty much fell in love Krystal immediately. The fact that she thought to give a gift basket to the Hills? And the whole scene with the gag reflex? I adore her. I’m really crossing my fingers for a Stan and Krystal friendship arc. They are both such wholesome individuals and I hope that Ruby comes to recognise Krystal for who she seems to be so far, which is a genuinely nice gal. Also, we know that Onyx (played by Megan thee Stallion) is going to be up to no good so I’m excited to see her interact with Krystal and Stan on screen! God please give me Krystal and Stan having each other’s backs.
Rhea - Jackie Cruz is a boss. From what I’ve seen bouncing about on Tumblr, she’s supposed to be appearing in 4 episodes of what has been filmed so far. I really loved her and Beth’s friendship in this episode, even though the foundation of it is deceitful and extremely unhealthy on Beth’s part. I’m not sure if Rhea will find out what Beth has done and I can only imagine the fallout and angst should Rio ever share it with her. But I can’t help but love the two of them. I mean they were chatting about hot coaches! We rarely see Beth loosen up like that with people. Just compare it to her interacting with the PTA mums in 2x10. The difference in Beth’s demeanour is striking. I’ve seen some theories that Rhea already knows who Beth is and is playing her, which is definitely possible. My gut instinct says no but my theories for this show have been wrong so many times before. I also just want to see Rio’s face when he realises that Beth has inserted herself into this private part of his life; he’s going to be absolutely furious and I am here for that plot.
Marcus - How were the fandoms predictions and fanfic writers’ portrayal of this character so accurate? He’s an angel. And he and Jane are clearly best friends! Is this what dreams are made of? And he loves planes too. This episode. Oh my god, this episode is feeding me. Please let Rio give Marcus the planes he made in that hotel room. Please! Ahem, moving on. Manny has said several times that their is something that stops Rio from killing Beth in this season, a line that he won’t cross and that it’s addressed early on. I’ve seen some theories that it could be because Marcus adores Beth. It definitely could be! But I wonder if there is another reason why, particularly if the doors into the crime world are really blown off their hinges in this season and they have a common adversary or goal.
The Hills
I cannot emphasise how much I love Stan and Ruby. For me, they are definitely the heart of the show alongside the three girls. This episode really doubled down on that and I missed them so much.
So the Hills are managing to pay for Sara’s meds, particularly with the money from Stan’s new job. It seems that he’s having to step in to prevent people getting too forward at the strip club and is getting into some physical altercations because of it. I am so excited for his storyline this season, especially after Manny said that it is the storyline he is most excited about. I mean, I’m scared. But here for it.
Sara’s struggling with her meds and I remain shocked by how completely adorable lil’ money is.
I’ve already said it but I want a Krystal and Stan friendship. I’m so curious to see how the strip club ties into the overall plot of the season. It has to have something to do with the counterfeit cash right? And maybe Onyx becomes involved at some point?
Ruby’s scene on the phone with Gwen is so incredibly important. I always do my best to be nice to people who I’m on the phone with, even when it’s frustrating. The scene was so well done and I loved the message of how you don’t know what someone else going through. So be nice. And we know Ruby’s nice. But she’s also scared for her daughter and frustrated with Stan’s job and we all get it. Even Gwen does.
Annie and Sadie
Oooooofffft. Could that call out have felt more like a burn? I feel like Annie kind of needed to hear this and what Mae has said in her interview, about Annie becoming more cautious and little more introspective, makes so much sense now. Of course it would be Sadie that would trigger such a shift! Although not for long apparently, given the inappropriate crush that Annie seems to develop (from 3x04 synopsis); I do still think that it’ll be on the doctor that Rob Heaps has been cast as but I kinda wish it would be some else. I am curious to see how the writers handle this moving forwards because Annie’s already done some pretty serious self-reflection in this episode and I really do think that whatever happens, she’s not just going to forget what Sadie said. I imagine it’s something she’ll struggle with this season.
Also, fuck Noah (I posted the exact same thing while watching the episode). He sucks.
That scene with the toothbrush had me hollering. I know some people hated it but I guffawed my way through it. For me, Mae really delivered on the hilarity in this episode, alongside Lucy. Her bickering with Ruby while she was trying to make a dumb point was sooo good.
Agent Turner
I know a lot of people hated Turner and are glad that his character’s gone. But god, I’m going to miss that obsessive, sanctimonious son of a bitch. I adored him as a character and James Lesure was absolutely fantastic. Also, can I just say that he was a total snack? Especially in that suit. Killer. I’m also kind of bitter than I won’t see some of my wishes come true this season, mainly seeing more scenes between Beth and Agent Turner and them having a drink together, even if they were still antagonists. We coulda had it aaaallllllll!!!!!!
I’m really, really going to feel James Lesure’s absence and I wish him well on his next project.
I love that the writers understood the importance of giving him a final scene with Beth. These two have been playing a cat and mouse game for two seasons and I needed a farewell to their relationship. His pop-by on Beth’s place of employment was really well done and Christina and James killed it, although they always do so why am I surprised. Him saying “It’s not easy making an honest living” really takes me back to the moral hypocrisy he displayed with Stan in season 2, stating that he did what he had to, to get to the letter of the law. Don’t get me wrong, I love complex, rich, fun characters like Turner and I really like that writers chose to display this facet of his character again, with him fully believing that he has the moral high ground over Beth.
Rio
Right. As soon as I saw Turner walking with that plastic bag in his hand, I knew he was going to see Rio! The planes! The planes! If he gives a plane to Marcus in the next episode, I will die. Happily.
Also, I was struck all over again by the way Rio moves, talks and his presence in that scene in the hotel room. Manny brings so much to the character and it’s really amazing to watch.
We got some really important insight into Rio’s character in this episode, one of which is that there have been significant periods where he has been absent from Marcus’ life, which is such a great piece of character insight. We saw Beth struggle to balance crime and family in season 2. We saw Rio attempt to comfort her and share his own experience in 2x09 (”It’s lonely at the top.”) and I really loved that this episode shed some light on the fact that Rio is like Beth in this aspect. That he struggles just like her and misses his kid. Retrospectively, it adds this kind of tragic depth to the first bar scene in 2x09.
That last scene. Ohohohohoho. So much to talk about. It seems pretty clear to me that Rio has a pretty solid alibi with how much he interacted with the lady in the hotel lobby. I love that, of all things, he wants to chat loyalty points and EXCUSE ME “NEAT”. I never thought I would hear that word come out of Rio’s mouth but here we are. And I’m into it. Also, the way his voice shifts when he says business. Oh boy oh boy.
So it seems pretty clear that Rio’s spent the past 4 months playing Turner, clearing the board for himself to come in (I think this is going to have repercussions which I love because we always see the consequences of the girls’ actions but rarely of Rio’s actions). I’m also really curious to find out if Carlos Aviles’ character was in the van and if he’ll say anything about it? Maybe to Beth or if we’ll see him and Rio interacting at some point this season.
The whole thing with the billboard was a great touch and really doubled down on how devious but also cocky Rio is. I really got the same vibe from the final scene of the The Usual Suspects, where Kyser Soze uses the items around him in the room to construct an elaborate, convincing lie for law enforcement. And they fall for it. Gosh, brilliant.
Also, loved Rio’s outfit in that last scene. And looks like there’s no nose ring either. I had a feeling there wouldn’t be, even with the video that dropped on Valentine’s day just because of that shot of Rio in the season 3 trailer, without a nose ring.
So that’s it! I have no clue where else to slot this in but Beth’s hair and clothes. A++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++!!!!!!!!!! Like, her hair doesn’t really look like a wig anymore and those sweaters. THOSE WELL-FITTED BLOUSES. I could not stop staring. She’s a literal angel.
Also, quick warning that I’ll probably reblog and add stuff to this because I’ve definitely left some stuff off of this because I’m too tired to finish.

and so it begins...
today is december 17, 2020. today is the day i realized just how unsatisfied with my life I am. well, unsatisfied is an understatement, im absolutely miserable. things need to change so I've made the executive choice to document my ✨journey✨. so what is this journey you ask? i want to be rich and successful and honestly I want a lot of clout. call it corny call it lame but that is what I want. Im realizing the best way to go about getting clout is to clout chase. before I get into how I plan on doing this I should at least say why I want this and how I got to this point.
*yeah im about to air my life out so prepare for a long read
growing up I was not a hot girl. I was actually kind of a loser. in fact I was told I had school sh**ter vibes once and that really just put things into perspective. I can't say I was complete loser though because I did have friends, and they're good friends because we're all still super close almost a decade after we met. but I can't say I had a good high school experience. I was a big girl, my highest weight was 220 at least and im 5′5. i wore the same beat to shit hairstyle everyday and horribly mismatched, bum ass clothes. at one point i actually cut my hair about 2 inches so I was rocking an afro my junior year which was... tragic. I’m also a black woman in an oh so predominantly white area so that was fun, but like I said, I was not a hot girl. I was never asked to any dances, never had a boyfriend. NEVER BEEN KISSED. obviously these aren't the most important things in the world but it did hurt my teenage heart to see my friends and everyone else experience those things while I stayed at home watching movies nobody has heard of and obsessing over stan twitter. my home life also wasn't perfect. i grew up in an extremely poor and abusive household. it's not something I like to talk about so this is about as far as i’ll go with that but I am who I am because of my environment.
so now that I've covered my backstory, i’ll tell you the catalyst. so im 19 turning 20 and a freshmen in college. I took a gap year and ohhhh let me tell you it was the longest year of my life. I don't think I've ever been so depressed in my life. I spent 9 months working, spending money I didn’t have, binge eating, and just being an overall mess. but april... let me tell you about april. the beginning of quarantine. a switch must have been flipped in my brain because I actually started getting my shit together. in the span of 3 months, I lost 40lbs, I started posting on ig, I became really close with my best friend again, I was heading off to college, I bought myself a 16in MacBook Pro, a whole new wardrobe, and 7k in my savings account. not to mention I had a 730 credit score. things were finally looking up.
and now here comes my first semester in college in NEW YORK CITYYY! yeah I was miserable. for some reason I just had a really hard time making friends. I think I can say that the people on my floor are my friends but I really just don’t have any meaningful connections with them. I don't talk to any of them outside of seeing them face to face. next semester I think I'll actually try to initiate things on my part and see how it goes. I'll also need to force myself to join clubs and just be more extroverted. I also kind of want a group of hot girl friends to do fun city gurl activities. but back to the point, I spent a lot of time alone. most days I'd wake up at 2pm, maybe go to class. NEVER did homework. I would literally sit at my desk all day, smoke and watch movies. I also spent a ridiculous amount of money that was meant to go towards my tuition but c’est la vie. my first semester wasn't completely uneventful I will say. those days of doing nothing we're followed by 6-8 hours of hanging out in the lounge with my floor mates. honestly it was fun. it was the only thing that kept me from going home and giving up. I also had my first interactions with men! this was definitely a huge confidence boost.
but I was stagnant. I made no progress, no connections, made no money, and did not a thing. I failed 2 classes and withdrew from 1. writing that made me realize I was regressing if anything. one major highlight is definitely my ig. I started posting right after orientation and from that point to now I've went from 300 followers and 80 likes to 600 followers and 180 likes.
over winter break I've started to heavily review my life. what did I really want? who did I want to be? I feel like I've found the answers to my questions now. I want to be it. to be it I need to be a better me. A better me wants to follow her dreams.
STARTING TODAY I am going to document my revamp. by the end of the second semester I hope to accomplish these things that will create a better life for me.
in no particular order...
SOCIAL MEDIA:
ig: 1k followers.
twitter: active account with 300 followers.
PERSONAL:
weigh 135lbs.
refine my sense of style.
find my aesthetic.
make real connections.
have a friend group.
find a side hustle.
CAREER + EDUCATION:
join clubs and attend more events.
pass all my classes.
find connections within the film industry.
build connections with those people.
I really hope things start to change for me.

Kotlc Actor/Actress Au... Heacaons...... Part 2.... yeah
- Stina Heck’s actress is really sweet but is also such a meme.
- She makes so many facial expressions. You could honestly watch her all day and she probably wouldn’t make the exact same one twice.
- She’s also best friends with Dex’s actor.
- They get teased a lot for being ‘a thing’ but they constantly deny it with the “we’re just friends!!” line.
- The both of them have a lot of fun filming their fight scenes because they get really into it.
- Marella’s actress (much like Stina’s) will laugh at nearly everything, but she will also speak up if need be.
- You don’t get away with any sort of shit in her presence.
- Also she’s such a mom friend. Her arms are always open and welcoming, however, again, do not be a dumbass.
- Oh and also she owns a pet snake. It’s name is Lil’ Lushberry J. Doofinsmurts Jr. lll. (Lushberry for short)
- Lord Cassius’ actor makes too many dad jokes.
- He’s also oddly serious and it’s a weird mix, but it suits him.
- Alvar’s actor is kind of the same way, but with more seriousness. One could say he’s more professional than everyone.
- Well... that is until it’s time for the interviews. The audience (even though he’s a really nice guy) boos him because he plays the Bastard(TM)
- During those he’ll start fake crying and hiding or he’ll go full on Alvar Vacker Mode.
- Once Umber’s actress, while they were waiting for the first fight scene in Flashback to be called to action, started doing the whip and nae nae.
- Honestly, it was iconic and nobody can deny it.
- Kesler’s actor is Dex’s actor’s real dad and he also has a Irish accent.
- He and Juline’s actress are good friends from multiple other movies they’ve done together (hilariously they also normally play a couple).
- The triplets are all insane and related in real life.
- I mean, they don’t really even act.
- They just be themselves and it works perfectly.
- Somehow they hold the most bloopers of the background characters though.
- Jensi’s actor is missing out on a ton for pretty much the same reason’s as Dex’s actor - medical stuff.
- He’s an absolute sweetheart and is super quiet and pure and everyone loves him to pieces.
- Once he sent a photo of him with an NG tube in his nose, pretending like it was snot. He was also ‘freaking out’ about it and even after 11 months everyone still sends photos of random things coming out of their nose pretending it’s snot and making a huge deal about it.
- He uses the platform he has to spread awareness about diseases/sicknesses/lots of health things that aren’t normally spoken about.
- He also breaks a ton of stereotypes and shows that it’s not weird to have certain medical needs and what not.
- Goal squad on set and off set: Keefe’s actor, Dex’s actor, Stina’s actress, Jensi’s actor, and Marella’s actress.
- They complain (mostly through a group chat) about their characters (who they call their “poor precious babies”) not getting enough screen time while Keefe’s actor, who is very much dating Tam’s actor, complains about having to be love sick over a girl - his good friend nonetheless.
- Of course they are all joking, but are they really?
- “YOU EMO SALT BUCKET” is an inside joke.
- Also, “O m GEE, Becky do the ma t h.”
- There is a video of Tam’s actor getting pushed around in one of those fancy hotel things that carry your luggage while looking very much dead and straight faced while Keefe’s actor pushes him around directing the camera to their room like one of the fancy hotel staff.
- “Ma’am, are you sure this is your luggage? Well, alright then. Right this way please.”
- Councilor Emery’s actor acts just like Councilor Emery with less authority....
- Bronte’s actor meanwhile is - yes, a grumpy middle aged man - but also such a pure and chill dude.
- Like, you’re intimidated at first, but then you get to know him and he just has a great personality.
- Alden’s actor is one of the many dads on set.
- But he’s the homework-helping dad primarily. Also the “no reason to worry” dad.
- Yes, he has unironically adopted that saying.
- Della’s actress is a meme however only on the occasion.
- Either it’s professional (71% of the time) or meme (30% of the time).
- Yes you read that correctly. Her words, not mine.
- She’s kind of like that way too relaxed and chill mom who almost acts more like a really cool aunt.
- Expensive queen, but doesn’t brag about it.
- Edaline’s actress is married to Grady’s actor in real life and it’s so wholesome.
- They really are parents and have a little toddler. Her name is Ella.
- Grady’s actor can and has brake danced.
- Edaline’s actress bakes everyone cookies but also is like the adult version of Marella’s actress...
- WE STAN JOLIE’S ACTRESS IN THIS HOUSEHOLD.
- Has played the Titanic theme on the kazoo. Has also played the Titanic theme on the violin.
- Also I’m sorry, but I can only imagine her with @silveny-dreams personality mixed with a bit of Joana Ceddia plus Bob Ross vibes.
- She bought everyone kazoos and Shannon was and wasn’t happy.
- Jolie’s actress is also a painter fight me.
- Fintan’s actor is actually just a really soft guy until the camera turns on.
- Then he is Fintan himself.
- Kenric’s actor is actually Kenric. At all times.
- It’s kind of like the triplets - how there’s really no acting because it’s just his personality.
- Everyone loves him.
- It’s the same with Oralie’s actress only she hates the color pink...
- Yeah, she was not happy with Oralie’s house.
- It was too bright for her.
- But other than that she’s just this quiet, sort of shy, sweet thing that loves to feast upon cookies when Edaline’s actress brings them.
- Mr. Forkle’s actor is like a grumpy Santa Claus.
- It’s kind of really funny but also not.
- Everyone calls him Forkman.
I’m so sorry if this was a mess.

Okay Guyi, I know it has been 9 days since you posted Vogue and I just finished it. I've been dealing with a major flood and demoing my basement/purging most of the things down there. But, I FINISHED VOGUE AND I WANTED TO CRY, SCREAM, AND UWU AT THE SAME TIME!! I remember you said that there were 5 aspects of fics that you incorporated and I'm gonna guess: Tutor, TTBU, Victorious, MM, and The Wedding Planners. Idk that's just what I picked up tho. If you want I'll send an ask with reasons why.
Honestly, I just really loved the characterization of Yoongi (as I do with all your fics) and the Taekook side romance. Also, we stan a dog dad Joon in this household✊🏻 you definitely didn't disappoint with Cashmere either! What a great minor character to help progress the feelings between Yoongi and the OC. I'm so glad you posted it as one fic and wish the best for your mental sanity after finishing this and potentially writing another bEHEMOTH. Much love💜💜💜
ahhh hope everything is alright down in your basement !!!! my family’s basement is the same--a total mess whenever it storms here. but thank you so much for reading vogue despite everything that’s happening!! she really is a feat of writing and endurance. i would LOVE an ask explaining why you think that those fics were incorporated--even though i was kind of totally exaggerating when i said 5, and i was mostly thinking of twp and mm--it would make my day!!! but that’s not to say that your messages don’t already make my day as is.
i really loved the character creation of vogue--all of them had their own little quirks and very distinct personalities, but they meshed together wonderfully to create this little band of new yorkers. also cashmere is tied for best fictional cat on this blog (with justin litterlake of the underwear thief fame) and this cannot be disputed. thank you so much for taking on that monster of a fic, and for your endless stream of love and support. it makes me inexplicably happy.

(for the char thing) stanley uris, mike hanlon, and patty blum
migz!!!! i’m sorry i abandoned this in favour of video games and capitalism i hope i can make it up to u uwu
this is mostly going off the movies but there’s occasional book and miniseries input- i’ve only read the first few chapters, a few wikia pages, and some character meta from the book and i’ve only seen the miniseries once vs the however many times ive watched the movies in the last 2 months so don’t expect consistency between canons
(also i’m gonna put these under a cut because this post got really long)
stanley uris
How I feel about this character:
there is a reason i use the tag baby boy for stan (and also for miniseries eddie)!!!! he’s my favourite loser other than eddie and i want to like. hold him and make sure he’s happy and healthy and i think stephen king should treat his characters better.
All the people I ship romantically with this character:
patty!!!!! their relationship in the book makes me so happy and anyone who’s ever spoken to me about stanpat knows that i am at all times thinking about how she calls his car sedanley.
that being said, i respect stenbrough, stanlon, and streddie but overall this is a stanpat household
My non-romantic OTP for this character:
stan with all the losers but especially richie! which isn’t very original since they are literally best friends but their dynamic!!! good!!!! i’ve not been able to stop thinking about that one scene from the miniseries where richie introduces stan as “this is stan the man uris, he’s a jew,” partially because it’s fucking funny because who says that richie what the fuck, but also because stan just instantly follows up by saying that richie has a high metabolism which makes him hyperactive, and maybe it’s because the miniseries is campy and a little bit shit but the delivery of those lines makes it seem like they do this a lot! they have these introductions ready to go! and i love the idea of them as a platonic package deal even if we don’t get to see much of that in the movies
My unpopular opinion about this character:
i don’t think i really have any? i tend to follow people who hold the same opinions as me tho so i have no idea what’s popular outside of that dshfk
i mean i do think fics that save eddie but not stan aren’t really fix-its and going off the amount of fics where stan’s still dead i guess that’s somehow an unpopular opinion? i know everyone’s focused on reddie rn but god like. stan is right there can we stop ignoring him pls
One thing I wish would happen / had happened with this character in canon:
i mean the most blatantly obvious answer here is that i wish he didn’t die! he should’ve gotten to go on his holiday and rail/get railed by his wife and live to meet his friends as adults, catch up on the 27 years they didn’t get to be with each other. he should’ve gotten to have kids, once everything was over, and they should’ve been able to grow up with 5 extra uncles and an aunt bc u can’t tell me the rest of the losers wouldn’t be deeply embedded in their lives. i just wish stan had a chance to be completely, 100% happy without the underlying terror of his childhood.
on a smaller note i also wish we’d gotten to see more of his interest in birds in the movies bc like. he’s babie. and who knows! maybe would’ve helped stop the perception that his entire personality is just being a bitch that hates richie jshfd
mike hanlon
How I feel about this character:
part of the reason i wanted to read the book was for more mike content because i adore this lil farm boy and the movies. well. y’know. :). characters who just openly and whole-heartedly love their friends and go straight ride or die like 10 minutes after meeting them have my whole heart! he’s so smart and so kind and just wanted to protect his friends as best he could even though he dragged them into this whole mess bc he doesn’t want to lose them again!!!! mike deserves the whole world and if his way of getting that is by getting out of derry and getting to know that his friends remember and love him and each other then that’s all i want for him.
All the people I ship romantically with this character:
i wasn’t overly set on any particular mike ship until i watched the miniseries and saw the homoerotic bike montage and now i’m fully on the hanbrough train. choo choo.
just like with stan i support stanlon but endgame hanbrough is just. it’s right there in the text. bill didn’t divorce audra for nothing in ch2.
My non-romantic OTP for this character:
this also kinda ties in with the last point, but jane @billdenbrough opened my eyes, in the middle of a very in-depth conversation about audra’s minion strap, to the world of best friends mike and audra who are both with bill which is both galaxy brained and an incredibly good concept which i think about a lot
also i think mike and ben could’ve had something Incredibly soft if mike wasn’t treated like a background character in the first film and a quest-giving npc in the second one :) :)
My unpopular opinion about this character:
i headcanon mike as gay, i have no textual evidence for this, i just think he’s neat. i think it’s a pretty popular opinion that the movies treated him poorly? and i also think that in ch2 he was just trying to protect his friends in a scenario that did not lend itself at all to protection. drugging bill and not telling the others about the full ritual might not have been the best thing to do, but he was in a goddamn bitch of an unsatisfactory situation, and he was trying his best to save his friends no matter how impossible it may have been.
One thing I wish would happen / had happened with this character in canon:
i uh :) i don’t know if anyone’s figured out yet :) that i wish many things had happened with mike in canon :) :) the first film doesn’t give him much but the second film just infuriates me completely tbqh! he’s basically entirely there to push the narrative (his dialogue doesn’t even sound like dialogue! it sounds like prose explaining the plot and the next steps the characters have to take!), or to drug and lie to his friends. i wish they’d kept his backstory the same, that we’d actually gotten to see him find his token, that he’d gotten a token relevant to him as an individual rather than the group, that we’d gotten a flashback for him, that he was given more screentime and development across both films, like... i wish he’d been treated like the other losers and not a plot point.
i also wish we’d gotten to see him on his travels post-canon, seeing the other losers, and just generally actually getting to be happy- we see the start of it but god i just want to see him having a good time outside of derry.
patty blum
How I feel about this character:
if she were not stan’s wife she would be my wife. we don’t get to see much of her in the movie or miniseries and that is a fucking crime!!!! i’ve already mentioned sedanley but like. sedanley. i’ve read patty’s bit in the book and that’s all i need the other 1100 pages can get fucked, she’s just here to watch family feud and love stan which i can confidently say is a huge fucking mood
All the people I ship romantically with this character:
STAN. i guess i already talked about this before but i’ll keep going!!! my love for stanpat overwhelms my usual distaste towards straight relationships bc they’re so good!!!!! the fact that they’re really the only happy relationship to come out of the 27 year gap and they love each other so much and so like... wholesomely? but they still blow each other’s backs out on the reg and it’s what they deserve.
also i sometimes think about patty/audra as like. kind of a crack ship kind of a “i’m a lesbian and i’m desperate to see lesbians” ship. i haven’t thought about it in depth i just want to plant the seed
My non-romantic OTP for this character:
stan introducing patty to the losers and patty becoming an honorary loser is my weakness!!!! patty being comfortable enough to rib richie (and richieandeddie) with stan, but also vice versa going along with richie’s bits. patty and bev getting close because as much as st*phen k*ng and co push bev as One Of The Boys(tm) there’s just something in having another woman around that can be refreshing especially when they’re both bicons. patty and mike enthusiastically sharing holiday pictures and tales of their trips. patty noticing when eddie’s having a bad day, whether it’s anxiety or lingering trauma, and supporting him through it, regaling him with stories about stan and what essentially amount to dad jokes (sedanley!!!) and making sure he knows he’s loved and supported by all the losers. patty, the teacher, and ben, lunchtimes-in-the-library ben who never outgrew his love of reading, nerding out over shit that the others don’t really know about. bill telling patty all about what stan was like as a kid in that way only bill can, richie chiming in with crude comments sometimes but noticeably keeping quieter than usual, and patty returning the favour, telling them about the last 27 years, and not even richie makes a single joke when everyone tears up (because he’s tearing up the most). stan sitting there the whole time not even bothering to point out that he’s right there because it’s enough for him to see the romantic love of his life and the platonic loves of his life bonding, and yeah, maybe it was worth sticking around for.
My unpopular opinion about this character:
i don’t know if this is unpopular but patty pegs. that’s all.
One thing I wish would happen / had happened with this character in canon:
more patty. let me see my wife.
#eddiekissbrak#migz this has literally taken me hours i hope ur happy#i can't remember if the book specifies what patty teaches so i'm taking some liberties because i don't care what stephen king has to say#kinda went off the shits with patty there rip#i'm also like. not good with thoughts or with words so im sorry if this is underwhelming dgfhjsk

i got tagged by @trulycertain and @remember-panchaea for this song meme and had to group my entire spotify playlist into a folder to do this properly which, honestly is good because ive been meaning to tidy up
i did this once with my phone b4 but im doing it again because im narcissistic and i tagged some of yall so i wont put you through that again unless of course you want to :3
turned out much better this time i think. most weird music lives on my phone.
It's End Of The World As We Know It (And I feel Fine) - R.E.M.
this is bop do i need to elaborate
I’m trying to learn the lyrics but its going a bit slowly because I’ve not looked them up in years.
To Lose My Life - White Lies
This is also a bop but a sad, tragic bop. White Lies are bop. Also, it’s a dude singing about a dude but for some reason I cannot find any information about this on the internet. Do I stan an LGBT band? I don’t know. You don't know. Who knows. Apparently I should stop asking.
Starts with He said to lose my life or lose my love / That's the nightmare I've been running from if you are looking for a concise example of the Flavor of tragic.
Exist - Club Mix OVERWERK
TBH I would elaborate on this one but I can’t remember which one this is. I’ll go listen to it when To Lose My Life goes off. Anyway, OVERWERK has pulled half his stuff from spotify because he’s tired of people only listening to his old things, so his collection is a bit of a mess and is hard to keep up with.
also tbh state was meh at best so. i havent heard to new one i just noticed he had one. Canon album, though, was a masterpiece but we’ll get back to that
OH yes this one! This is a very good one. Dark in a victorian-street-with-oil-lamps-and-lace kind of way and mysterious. A little forlorn too, if you ask me. I end up humming parts of this all the time, and then forgetting which OVERWERK track it comes from, then having to listen to like half his work to find it. Also I get it hyper-confused with Conquer, which is another song I do the exact same thing to. I don’t know what that says about Exist, but. It must say something. Something good, I think. The problem is it’s not in an album and his work on Spotify is already an organizational mess.
Sugar High - Approaching Nirvana
I devoured every ounce of fyreuk’s timelapse videos okay you know whats up. you know. you know. yes you do
Feel So Close - Calvin Harris
Hello pop song!
Surrounds me like a waterfall is the funnest lyrics to sing.
Stolen Dance (remix i found on youtube)
One day, I was in a café eating that really thin layers of pastry and honey treat for the first time, and I heard a remix of Stolen Dance that was absolutely divine. As soon as I got home, I tried to find it. And I couldn’t. In fact I could never ever ever ever find it online. So, this is some random person’s homemade remix that i found on youtube one day.
It occurs to me that you may ask why a youtube song is on my Spotify. We don’t talk about that. Tragic really.
Jurassic Snack Pack - Prototyperaptor
This is a very cheerful? Happysome? Success-training-montage? This is a very aesthetic chiptune(?) song. Good for playing moderate-volume as you putter around doing household things and dancing in a way that’s really more like uncoordinated flailing and bobbing.
I also feel like it would make a good rollercoaster song but that’s beside the point.
On The Floor - Jennifer Lopez
dance
During the two minutes I had a Dutch relative, he got into a debate we got him really worked up about this song versus the original version, which I did not know existed.
Signature - Thomas Bangalter Edit - DJ Mehdi
This one is just. I wouldn’t if I were you. It’s from my Glitchy playlist, I think. the glitchy playlist doesn’t have enough songs because there are not enough good glitchy songs in the world. This one shouldn’t even count, the serious glitchy bits aren’t very (though imo the whole of the way the song goes hard on the repetition really sets that part up to be a head trip). Early OVERWERK used to hit the spot but he’s doing more smooth things now. Botnek is also okay, but they almost always feel waay too Deliberately Edgy for me.
Anyhow, while putting in the link I learned there are apparently two of these, one of which is half the length of this, for people who don’t like being beat over the head for six minutes at a time.
I have to be careful when I listen to this outloud because this is probably one of the more potentially annoying songs I have on any of my playlists, really.
Toccata - OVERWERK
FAVORITE! FAVORITE! FAVORITE! YOU GUYS HAVE HAD TO SIT THROUGH ME PUSHING THIS INTO YOUR LAPS BEFORE AND SHUFFLE HAS MY BACK AGAIN TODAY! FAVORITE! FAVORITE!
deus ex song. this is the whole headline
the subtitle is, toccata and fugue in D minor by bach but in a Bach Is A Divine Android Being Modern AU.
I almost got to go to OVERWERK live. was one minute away from buying the tickets and everything. Then my fam changed their mind at the last second about me being able to come down for the long weekend. In retrospect, I love them, but the tickets were iirc thirteen bucks and.
then again if I heard toccata live, I might die. like on the spot. im exaggerating but only a little.
ALRIGHT
Now I’ve got to go listen to all yalls music. And overwerks new album. Which apparently spotify didn't see fit to bother me about even though I have ever song he’s got in various playlists including the one from The Sims 4.

Get To Know You Better Part 25
Summary: Gabrielle has a nine-year-old son who is a huge Captain America fan. He notices one of the actors on the subway and loudly points it out to her. That’s when Gabrielle realizes that actor was the man she had a one-night-stand with the week before.
Chapter Summary: Things get emotional in the Stan/Wilson household as everyone talks through some things
Warnings: Just angst
I usually couldn’t wait until Sebastian got home from a trip. I’d count down the hours until he was home. But we hadn’t spoken since our fight over the phone, so I was dreading the reunion.
I was dressing Stela in her pajamas after a bath when I heard the door open. Stela shrieked happily and ran out to greet him. “Daddy!”
“Hey, îngeraș, I missed you!”
I stood up and started to clean up the bathroom a little, biding my time before I had to face my fiancée. My stomach was in knots and everything I said to him kept echoing in my ears. I’d been so unforgiving. I took Stela’s towel to the laundry room and started to take out a fresh load from the dryer.
“Alright, I’m sure mom said you could stay up until I got home, so let’s get you to bed.” Sebastian passed by the hall and brought Stela to her bedroom.
I tried to keep myself occupied as I folded the clothes carefully, sometimes refolding a shirt a few times just to waste time.
Less than a half an hour later, I heard Stela’s bedroom door close and footsteps came down the hall. I hoped maybe he would just go to bed and not try to talk to me at all. I deserved the silent treatment after everything I’d said to him.
But instead, he came into the laundry room. “Hey.”
I already felt like breaking down into tears. My lower lip trembled and I put down the washcloth I was folding for the third time. “Hi.” I finally got the word out without sobbing.
But it was clear he could see my distress. “Gabby…” He walked over to me and gently pulled me into his arms.
“I’m so sorry, you should be so angry with me.” I swallowed and felt my eyes stinging with the inevitable tears.
“I’m not angry with you.” He sighed. “We both messed up. I should’ve told you about the call, that wasn’t right.”
“I just got so overwhelmed. I thought I couldn’t handle the kids without you.” It was so comforting being near him again. I had been so worried for days that everything would come crumbling down. But I knew, being in his arms again, that everything would be okay. We could work through things just like we had in the past.
“You can though. You’re a great mother, you can’t keep doubting yourself. You raised James on your own for nine years.” He reminded me.
“But Stela is so much different. She loves you so much more and I feel like I’m doing everything wrong with her. James won’t even listen to me anymore.”
“Gabrielle, you know that’s not true.” He said firmly. “She loves you more than anything. And James is a teenager now; he’s going to be like that sometimes. We’re going to make mistakes but it doesn’t make us bad parents. We’ll learn and keep doing our best.” He stroked my hair back.
“I didn’t mean what I said before. You’re the best father they could ask for, Sebastian.” I looked up at him.
“I just feel guilty I leave you three alone.” He admitted quietly. “I wish I could be there for you all the time and…maybe I need to take a break.”
“No, you don’t need to do that.” I shook my head. “We’ll work through this and make it easier for all of us. We just need to figure out ways to be closer even if you’re away.”
He looked unsure but nodded. “Just know I would do anything for you and the kids.”
“I know.” I hugged him close.
He exhaled softly and buried his face in the crook of my neck. “I love you.” He murmured.
“I love you too.” I was so relieved to make up after the fight. I ran my fingers through his hair. “I love you so much.”
=============
The next morning, after dropping Stela off at daycare, Sebastian, James, and I all took a trip to the principal’s office at his school.
James sulked in the waiting room beside Sebastian. He had almost hoped Sebastian would bail him out of trouble but that was not the case.
Heather at the desk stood up. “You can head in, he’s ready for you.”
The principal, Mr. Bishop, was a kind-hearted man who was always looking out for the best interest of the kids at his school. But he wasn’t lenient when it came to discipline.
“Miss Wilson, Mr. Stan, thank you for coming to meet with me. James, I’m glad to see you too.”
My son sank lower into the chair and kept his eyes on his shoes.
“Sorry for the delay, Sebastian was traveling,” I explained. “But we’re ready to handle it and see what we need to do.” I felt more confident as Sebastian’s hand rested on my knee.
“Of course, I don’t want to just punish James, I want to see if there’s any root cause to his behavior in the last few weeks.” The man said understandingly. “James, if there’s anything you want to add to the conversation, you can talk to us.”
He was silent as he continued to glare downwards.
“James, if something’s wrong or there’s something bothering you, you know you can talk to us,” Sebastian said gently and rested a hand on his shoulder.
James shook him away and went to stand up and leave. It was his main form of defense, I’d found over the past few months. If he didn’t like something he ran. He never faced his issues.
“James, come on,” I begged.
“There’s nothing to be afraid of, bud, you can be honest with us.” Sebastian reached out to grab his hand before he bolted.
That seemed to set James off at full force. “You said you’d always be there for me!” He exploded out of nowhere.
It startled everyone in the room but Sebastian looked especially taken aback. James hardly ever talked back to him or showed a bit of anger towards him.
“I-I am always here for you.” Sebastian did his best to recover from the outburst.
“No, you’re not!” James started to cry angrily. “You’re traveling or you’re working or you’re out with mom or you’re paying attention to Stela. You don’t care about me, you never have!”
“That’s enough yelling…” I was stunned and tried to keep from creating a scene in the office.
But Sebastian seemed more willing to take the verbal abuse. “I’m sorry I’m away a lot. I know it hurts your mom and your sister. I’m sure it hurts you a lot and it hurts me too. I miss a lot of important stuff and that’s something I can’t make up to you. But I’m doing my best to take care of you guys. I promised I would take care of you.”
“You promised you wouldn’t abandon me like my dad did. Everyone is saying that mom is keeping me from my dad and that you don’t really care about me.” He hiccupped and his anger seemed to morph into vulnerability.
“Is that why you got into a fight? They were talking about us?” I asked.
“I don’t…I don’t want to be left again.” James rubbed his eyes. “I never even met my dad but it would hurt more if you just stopped caring about me.” He cried.
Sebastian stood up and hugged him tightly. “I would never abandon you.” He promised. “I swear to God, I’m going to be here for the rest of your life, James, that’s something you can count on. I’m sorry I’ve been busy and I didn’t realize I was neglecting you. But I’m glad you’re telling me now. Of course, we can spend more time together, I would love that.”
“You’d rather sp-spend time with m-mom and St-Stela.”
“Nah, let the girls do their girly things. We can go do manly stuff like football. You, Captain, and I, we’ll have a guy’s night. Okay?”
James sniffled and nodded. “Okay.”
“But mom and I need to know that you’re not going to keep cutting class and getting into fights. If you have a problem with your classmates, you come to us or Mr. Bishop about it. You should apologize to your mom too.”
“Okay, I’m sorry.” He mumbled and went over to hug me too. “I’m sorry, mom.”
“It’s okay, baby, I love you.” I held him close. The weight off my shoulders was a huge relief and I felt silly to even question Sebastian’s parenting.
