Sabo Week Day 5 - Mission(s)

where's the fun in things you specifically do for fun if you can't be extremely self-indulgent at least once?

i love the idea of sabo and law running into each other repeatedly during the timeskip, especially if it's during one of sabo's missions. i want this boy to be silly and have fun so he can ignore the pain that's corroding him from the inside even more than usual, and who would be a better partner-in-crime than trafalgar law himself?

p.s. this was supposed to be kiiind of a "parallel" to day 4 (same but opposite composition, the contrast between teen sabo and ya sabo, etc) but i don't think any person outside of my own self would get it. i'm just too stupid

Consistently breaking my promise to disappear without a trace for several months on end really is kind of funny to me.

So, circling back to the 1. picture, as I was sketching this painting, I knew I wanted to paint Konrad in his feather cloak. Initially, I was kind of scared to actually start painting said feathers, since I didn't exactly have any prior experience, but I think it turned out ok for now!

Sidenote:

This wasn't intentional, but FLUFFY CURZE!!!! I have made him fluffy and have no regrets! (I will expand on this in a future post.)

Back to the other 3 pictures:

I've finally given Snagunius skin, hair and feathers!

I think the wings turned out a bit too yellow though. I knew I wanted to make his wings a kind of sandy or pale blond color, but I definitely overdid the yellow and gold.

That and I will also tone down the gold paint for the armour, because, as it is right now, it's a bit too shiny and makes it hard to get good pictures.

As for the swirly tendrils(?) on Sangunius - they are intended to balance out Konrads jewelry (sketch in my previous post). I've actually been having a bit of a dilemma about said jewelry, because on one hand, the original intent was to make it gold and red (for compositional reasons), but on the other, I think he would be the type to like silver more.

Ik, ik he canonically has gold trim on his armour, but I have a headcanon that Konrad has a mild distaste for gold, what with not having the best opinions about Sangunius and it being a very common way for nobles all across the imperium to show off their wealth.

P.S. I will definitely try to break up/shorten my posts in the future and try to improve your overall reading/viewing experience.
