Percy Jackson spoilers and criticism below.
I see people complain about how the show just has the characters figuring out things way too quickly (I completely agree with this.) Then I see people complaining about that criticism saying things like “Oh it makes sense! They would know that because Annabeth’s been at camp, Grover is a satyr, and Percy’s mom taught him about the myths!” However, there is a difference between them knowing about the stories and them IMMEDIATELY figuring each potential trap/situation out and zapping the energy from the scenes.
These same instances in the book usually involve a feeling of unease, something feels off, things seem kind of familiar, and it slowly dawns on them what they are dealing with OR they are escaping one situation to be thrust into another and don’t have time to think about it at all. There’s tension, there’s drama. I’m here for it. The show on the other hand? Oof.
Also the circumstances in which they encounter these situations in the book greatly influence how things go. They are human(ish) after all and them getting into these messes makes them easier to connect to as characters. Let’s break it down a little more there.
- With Medusa they were lost in the woods and hungry. The smell of food lured them in. They were hungry children dang it! From the circus lol (Honestly, this instance didn’t bother me too much in the show when I first watched it because it was early on before the knowing things too soon became an ongoing theme.)
- With the Lotus Hotel and Casino they were tired and feeling grimy, having just traveled in the back of a truck with a bunch of animals in horrible conditions. It was scorching hot outside. They were absolutely exhausted and wound up there where a doorman invited them in and it was a relief to have somewhere to take a break, recoup and figure out their next move. Once inside they had access to a shower! There were snacks. Plus the place was incredible. It also showed their interests with Annabeth being drawn in to trivia and city building games, Percy liked the bungee jumping! Grover played a reverse hunting game! Percy figured out the trap by asking a guy using 70s slang and dressed to match, what year it was. He kept asking and getting different answers. Then he was able to snap Annabeth out of it by describing spiders, which he knew she had a fear of from the Tunnel of Love ride. (This whole scene in the show was such a let down, so was the Tunnel of Love scene but I’ll leave that alone for now.)
- With Crusty they were on the run and dashed into the store. This encounter is one of my favorite moments of Percy’s quick thinking in the books btw. Also his absolute lack of hesitation to slice someone’s head if they mess with his friends. Percy is smart. He’s very street smart actually. In the book this scene shows that really well. (The way I paused the show in frustration and almost turned it off when the episode started already at Crusty’s with the line “I know who you are.” Like of course. That’s just how we’re telling this story now. Check. They met Crusty. And he doesn’t feel like a threat at all. But they met him I guess.)
The exhaustion and the circumstances in these instances in the book and getting into these traps aren’t the trio being “stupid.” They were moments that set up the situation to feel more relatable, alive, tense, and interesting. The show’s changes have taken away most of the tension from these scenes. Them knowing and catching on to things so quickly is lazy and it is incredibly boring. It just feels like they are checking off a list of places from the books they wanted in the show, while losing the entire energy and impact of those locations and scenes.
To me everything in this show feels like it’s at 20%. The humor, the stakes, the tension, the personality, the freaking lighting (why is so much of this show so hard to even see?), the whimsy, the magic, the charm. It’s all so dialed back and watered down. The book is a roller coaster of making you laugh and putting you on the edge of your seat with the tension and situations these kids get into. It’s campy, it’s intense, it’s crazy, and so energetic. The show feels bland in comparison. Idk how you manage to make Percy Jackson feel boring but they did it.
I’m not asking for it to be an exact copy of the book. I’m just disappointed with how dull it is. When it’s boring and it’s a scene that was the furthest thing from that in the original version then YES I’m going to compare it and wonder why there were changes to make it less interesting. In fact, my favorite scene in the show so far is actually the taxi in the parking garage scene. It captured the energy and vibe of Percy Jackson really well and it’s a scene not in the books at all. The energy is important and this show is lacking severely most of the time. It has some really good moments (back to that 20% thing) but overall it’s such a let down.
We have one episode left of the season and I don’t exactly have high hopes of it making things better. It just makes me sad because I wanted to love this series. The incredibly talented cast, a major studio behind it, passionate people being involved including the author, amazing source material… I look at all of the ingredients and it should be amazing. But I’m pretty disappointed right now.

Pokemon Card of the Day #3129: Articuno (Team Up)
Articuno was a strange sort of Pokemon in that it had to be Active to protect its team but also didn't do a lot up there. This meant being relegated to an early-game role at best, but that role at least existed. Giving just enough time for a Water deck to set up better could be nice in theory. Water, however, wasn't the most impressive type when this was available, so it would probably have to find its place in some of the lower tier decks if it was going to be good at all.
110 HP was decent in the context of the very early portions of the game, though the Lightning Weakness meant that Zapdos was a big issue to worry about. It also wasn't that hard for a lot of the top decks to get a good hit off by their second turn. There was a Fighting Resistance here, but that generally just helped against whatever Buzzwole were still around at the time. The Retreat Cost here was 2 in case you really wanted to switch it out, but if you ever got 2 Energy on Articuno you'd rather just use Cold Cyclone for some chip damage and to move the Energy somewhere else for a future turn.
Blizzard Veil was an Ability that only worked when Articuno was your Active Pokemon. Whenever your opponent played a Supporter card from their hand, all effects of that card were ignored if done to any of your Benched Water-type Pokemon. This let those Pokemon actually set up, so you weren't your Quagsire or Volcanion Prism Star targeted down by a Guzma. That was the general extent of its use unless you had this in something like a later Frosmoth deck to protect from Boss's Orders. It did not, however, protect anything also helping those set up that were of a different type, such as Naganadel, so even with the Ability it could feel kind of limited.
Cold Cyclone wasn't the best thing in the world, at 70 damage for 2 Water Energy. You also had to move 2 Water Energy from Articuno to 1 of your Benched Pokemon. It did, however, have some use, to get some chip damage in while still protecting the Bench to build up your board. There were times where using this would actually make sense since Blizzard Veil was there.
Articuno would have been better if Water was a better type, but it was kind of marginal and the best Water decks of the day also ran a good amount of Pokemon of other types for help. Articuno just didn't have a great role as a result, even if it probably would have been really nice in a different format. It's still worth noting this card, however, since anyone building a Water deck from the era could consider using this to sit up front for a turn or two, as in that context it was an interesting card.

have you ever read the His Dark Materials series? if so, what daemons do you think the ncis hawaii team would have?
oh my goodness great question. (a) have been obsessed with His Dark Materials since i was approximately eight years old, and (b) let me think about this.
Jesse's I think would be a dog. Like a big, 70-80 pound mutt that might look a little intimidating but is really a big ole baby who sleeps in the bed and loves to cuddle. She could tear the shit out of someone though, and would, and does, if she needs to. She's often found napping in a pile with Jesse's kids and their daemons, and she's be the first to break the don't-touch-other-people rule if another member of the team is hurt.
Kai's, I'm thinking a bird. Maybe a small hawk or falcon. One that could enjoy soaring in the air when he's at sea, perch on his surfboard when he's waiting to catch a wave, chirps incessantly when hungry and then eats fastidiously--not a single entrail left behind--and then grooms Kai's hair in thanks. She's a surprisingly cuddly bird, and anyone who knows them very, very well knows that when Kai is upset, she'll open a wing for him to rest his head against her chest, or will climb into his lap to doze against him. She loves having her chest feathers scratched (by him ONLY) and she can come out of fucking nowhere to scratch, claw out the eyes, or knock bad guys out with stooping rakes or punches to defend Kai. She has a truly bloodthirsty shriek. She and Lucy have a great affinity for each other and she loves to tease Kai.
Ernie's is maybe a small lemur, some kind of small monkey with big eyes that's too smart for her own good. She's always getting into trouble, poking her round little head where it doesn't belong and bringing back all kinds of gossip and government secrets. Ernie, in comparison, is a paragon of restraint. She's a trickster, the kind of person who would text Lucy and Kate "from Ernie" to get them to end up a bar alone together and would have absolutely zero remorse for it. She's not super cuddly, but she does love sitting right in front of Ernie on his desk when he games or hacks, watching with her little jaw a little bit open.
Jane's is a raven. Enormous, smart as a whip, sarcastic. Independent but fiercely loyal, totally black sense of humor. He counterbalances all of Jane's ernest, caring mom energy with sarcastic gay uncle energy. He's a great scout with an eidetic memory—he can repeat full conversations between multiple people even weeks later. He likes to entertain Jane and her kids and the team by replaying conversations complete with eerily accurate impressions of each voice. He's a brilliant strategist and loves a good fight. His beak and talons are no joke, and he laughs whenever Kai's daemon acts like she's the better fighter between the two of them.
Lucy's is a panther. She's not as big as an animal panther, but she's still fucking big. She can fold herself up pretty small into a ball of cat, or keep her head ducked down so she looks smaller than she is, but piss her off or watch her stretch, and damn! That cat is fucking big. She's stealthy and quiet when she needs to be, but her comfortable, natural state is quite chatty. The joke is that people are like "oh tiny cop, has to rely on her big ass daemon to protect her" and Saffiyah is like "lol," literally yawns, lays down, and closes her eyes when Lucy's fighting. It's all a performance—she'd jump up and rip the leg off a human being if she needed to—but she knows exactly how much Lucy can handle and she doesn't so much as twitch her tail until it gets to that point. That's even scarier for the dudes Lucy's fighting, that the tiny lady is taking on these dudes AND their daemons, and her fucking apex predator is just napping nearby. It's totally psychological warfare, and Saffiyah fucking loves it. She's less cuddly than you'd think, only Ernie and later Kate really ever seeing the extent to which she curls around Lucy and offers soft, fluffy, wordless comfort.
Kate's is the only daemon not suited for combat. Hers is a ferret, a small one. He can curl into a ball that almost fits in one hand. He's often found in her pocket or purse, or, when she's alone, draped across her neck. He's very quiet, doesn't say much, and a hidden camera would see him often staring into Kate's eyes with overflowing love. Kate's emotional walls are always up, but not between her and him. He tries to give her everything she won't let the rest of the world give her. He's surprisingly opinionated and has meticulously high standards. He doesn't have much of a sense of humor, but he's steady and warm to Kate. Most other people don't even see him—he's such a softness, so revealing of a part of Kate that she outwardly pretends doesn't exist, that Kate usually keeps him tucked away. He hates Cara, likes Jane, quietly giggles at Jesse and Kai's daemons, and he, in a way that's extremely out of character, absolutely loves Lucy. He doesn't let Lucy touch him for a long time, not until a few months after the grand gesture, but even before Cara ruins shit, he will sometimes curl up into a small ball of ferret on top of Saffiyah's back.
Bam Bam's is a snake.

please do talk about your zane & jesse feelings!!! whenever I see those two in your art I'm always curious as the thought process behind it, bc there's clearly something there! Smth I'm not seeing but want to see 👀👀
Hehe, thank you for asking! This got a little long, but please, come on this journey with me!!
Okay, so I feel I should preface this with saying, as you may have guessed, my favourite Remedy character by far is Jesse, (shocking, I know), and I think a lot of the feelings I have about this are partly filtered through my own understanding and interactions with her as a character (that other people might not feel the same way about), and also my need to put her in all the situations because I just want to :)
So, on the surface level, you've the general importance in AW2 placed on Zane specifically being a Director, which already hits those good parallels, along with the fact we have no idea why Zane was so freaked out by seeing Jesse and Darling on the tv, (which was also the only time in the main game she was either seen or mentioned, which makes this moment stand out to me- and its connection to the AWE DLC). Then there’s Zane meeting Darling, which bring us into head-cannon territory, being that Zane helped Darling make the Dynamite video, which- if he wasn’t already from the AWE DLC stuff- would make him aware of Jesse.
All of which lead to me just having... feelingssssss about them (which are explicitly none-shipping feelings!)
Like, my own sort of head cannon is that this current Zane is sort of a construct, an idea of what a sleezy 60s/70s filmmaker is, which in itself may unfortunately come with a certain level of not being particularly respectful towards women, his role as the filmmaker warping his perception of her. But also, at the end of the day, Jesse is both a very attractive and very powerful person, a combination I could absolutely imagine this Zane trying to purse and exploit for his own end.
However, unlike Darling who would trust him after a compliment and a flirty smile, Jesse- an infinitely more powerful person - would definitely not, and the clash of those personalities is fascinating to me! I need Zane’s sleezy attitude, the thinly veiled threat of danger he gives off to come up against the stubborn ‘fuck you’ energy of Jesse. Threat, tension, two dangerous people at an impasse all wrapped up in Hollywood glamour, sharp suits, pretty dresses, cocktail in hand! Do you see the vision???
And aesthetically, I just want to draw more of them being glamourous in suits together (or, at least draw Jesse wearing a full suit…), just two powerful beings being powerful, you know? But I need their power displayed as excess, extravagance, an aesthetic all caught up in the filmmakers lens, does that make sense????
(I also just really like drawing Jesse in suits, imagining her fully embracing the ‘look’ of her role as Director, giving in to the glamour of it all on some level, which is partly how I see post cannon Jesse, (Director’s suit my beloved), and partly just me projecting my love of clothes onto her honestly…)
(On a sillier note, they’re the kind of people who are enemies -because Zane is an absolute bastard, and Jesse is having none of it -, but I could also imagine it being fun to see them team-up because they had to, imagine the banter!)
I hope this explains the vision, sorry it got so long and all over the place!! I’m still trying to cement all my feelings, so there's probably stuff I'm missing, but this was super fun to put together and has solidified a lot of things!! It’s definitely half cannon, half my own interests, born from this wonderful speculation period where anything could happen, so I thoroughly expect all my feelings to be made meaningless by cannon 🙃.
Also, not to like shamelessly plug my work here, but I do have a fanfic of them meeting that kind of goes into some of these feeling… {x}
And a playlist... for the vibes… {x}
Thanks again!

warning a lot of yapping: here’s the thing like I actually totally understand couri & Fulham being upset, I understand everyone being upset because it’s a lot of money. I don’t think they’re actually upset by sapnap, they’re upset/stressed/angry because twitch rivals is always a shitshow and it materialized through the sapnap thing.
the problem rn is that the English mc community is massively divided in regards to dteam. sapnap knows this. basically everyone he chatted to during the event was either Spanish speaking and found the music thing funny (exactly like in squidcraft) or people he’s been friends with (flowtives, badboyhalo, pmbata, etc) or rendog (!). he made essentially zero effort with other English speakers because he knew that they most likely disliked him right off the bat - that’s why ren is significant. in the one interaction where someone else approached sapnap and was chill with him, he returned the same energy. but anyways, in regards of the spanish music strategy- this made the other people annoyed with him because it seemed like he was acting carelessly (let’s not be dense like it’s understandable to want a bit of peace and quiet) when tbh it was more of a defense mechanism.
so when one event went wrong and sapnap found himself on the opposite side as most other English streamers, the tension exploded. what’s interesting is the reason why it feels like sapnap is outnumbered is also because he is in the minority - he was part of the 30 out of 70 people that were gonna be eliminated. I think it makes sense for sapnap to react like he did, but it also makes sense for the other people to react like they did. we know A Lot about dteam. but if you’d only heard about them in the “they’re annoying” context from your friends and they didn’t seem to disprove that upon closer interactions, then you just accept it. it’s wrong but it’s human. I also don’t blame sapnap for reacting like they did - these guys dislike you for something out of your control and now are openly dissing you??
it’s just a self fulfilling prophecy at this point, and I think both sapnap and the other competitors are playing into it. either it gets worse or someone becomes the bigger man (can’t be Dream because he’s not here). the thing is it feels unfair to ask that of sapnap - the other guys should do it! they were more wrong! but still. I know most of you don’t like it and tbh who cares like sapnap is successful and entertaining. Sorry this is so long
um okay I don't have the energy to respond to all of this but I will say that sapnap did talk with other english people especially yesterday. him and feinberg even had a whole talk where they discussed their possible strategy before that last game started and he talked strategy with him and couris group before the doll game.
#and there's definitely something to the different approaches most of the hispanic players have in comparison to the english#like when it comes to the music and stuff#askies

COD MODERN WAREFARE 3 Predictions
Disclaimer: I have never played the games I am just doing this for my own enjoyment (I don’t have 70$ lying around) I am going off of cutscenes, the wiki and other people’s head cannons. I kind of wanna see how this list plays out once the new missions come. (This barbie has to draft 30 sheets of site analysis for a presentation but is doing this instead) I will probably update this with coloured text as it goes
also, lmao mw3 getting revealed by monster energy drinks has the same energy as the previous installments being revealed by Dorito Chips or when hero movies get early reveals from toy/action figure patents.
Graves does come back but only as an operator for the multiplayer games. Conversely, He could be an illegal arms dealer but in hiding (think MacAfee before they found him). Shepherd has a higher chance of going in that direction in my books. Update: he comes back completely unscathed and going by the new trailer he's siding with Farah and Alex? oooo this gonna get messy (28/7/23).
Price, Laswell, or Gaz dies. Sort of a riff off from the originals I’m guessing the writers are trying to find some form of subversion but this is where it's at (oof)
Farah or Alex dies and neither of them finishes what they started. My money is on Farah tbf.
Gaz dying makes sense in the way that he started with wanting to do right by people when he first met and would probably die that way too. or this being a red herring price jumps in for him and dies and then takes his place which seals his fate as the MC of this installment.
Laswell goes out of the way of aiding a mission when she was expected/advised not to.
Laswell gets a protégé that will replace her in a much later installment. It has a shot at being Gaz man just collects good intel.
more female ops? I like to think COD writes them pretty damn well. (at this point my standards are must pass the Bechdel test. which is not a bad benchmark considering its flaws but not great either)(this is also where I found out the first installment of Twilight passes the Bechdel test. go figure)
Gaz replaces Laswell and Ghost takes Price’s place.
Price dies while killing Makarov. or we get him smoking a cigar as he is introed making it a full-circle moment once more.
Ghost trades bullets with shepherd but only shepherd dies. Many have said the reboot plays it safe so I am going off of that assumption here slightly but ik a lot of og gamers of the previous titles would find that satisfying.
In the wiki, it states that the shadow company is disavowed but that might change. I didn’t check the established title (Like if it was private or public) of such a company but there might be a line of succession here. for what they have in assets it seems too big to be disavowed.
we get a partial face reveal of the ghost. It could be something mundane as smoking or a teasing jump cut. it’s just like barely there.
everyone gets promoted: It happened after the mission in the ghost's origin story. It’s a hefty mission they just survived. I would be surprised if they didn’t. with shepherd gone this swings either way. or gets buried under the rug as it is a mission hidden from the public.
Roach gets in the picture. he also wins the IDGAF wars or is second to Price in that regard.
regional operators? They were all over the place in past titles and with las almas this seems the least farfetched. (hoping for some Indian or Nepalis operators woo)
someone from 141 or affiliated gets kidnapped or “killed” but it’s that “lucky death” situation that COD likes to pull like it did with Alex. This happens towards the end or at a start of a mission season.’
Shepherd is the actual villain and they kill off Makarov pretty quick as a subversion of the original title. Again moot, if you consider the potential monster energy leak his face is in red behind price.
price dies, Gaz finishes the job.
this is more of an anti-prediction: the price isn’t gonna be the main character but the most prominent. (also going by the monster leak) ghost was the last game’s MC I don’t think they were married to his POV all that much even though it played a huge role.
ghost dies, and Soap finishes the job. “you wanna be better than me Johnny” or Johnny dies saving Ghost in the final moment.
Makarov operates the no Russian mission remotely and he acts as a clean nationalistic politician, making him more dangerous and will cause international trouble when apprehending him. (a lot of opposing politicians or figures “fall out of windows” in the process.
The ghost team carries over to Russian soil.
141 gets bigger and possibly with pre-existing operators within the game.
shepherd gets murdered by a more evil boi/girl
ghost’s tattoo design has a canonical refresh/update. The grey fleece jacket comes back.
Soap recovers while Ghost hunts for Shepherd solo. (this happens right after the final mission or the bar scene)
Every now and then a COD title comes out with a new game mechanic or a way to play. In this installment, I am predicting laser sights for night missions.
Heavier lean on digital/informational warfare.
we don’t get much about ghosts. RalphsValve said there might be a spinoff personally I don’t this will ever happen but it’s a tossup considering the original investor report saying mobile makes 40% of revenue but the Microsoft acquisition may change things ( also wonder where product collaborations are at on that investor report probably not that sizable but still worth a look). Conversely, he’s ghostie has become a character favorite and the market landscape has changed drastically in the last 10-20 years and he already has source material. BTW I read that Origin comic That poor fucker can’t catch a break. Brother looked so red-eyed when he hit the tarmac when he met Soap.

I'm slowly piecing together the plot of fallout through your au so here's what i've got:
nuclear bombs ig??? it killed some people and messed up a bunch of them (i think they're called ghouls idk)
and some of them are normal and some are feral but everyone who's in the vaults (to hide from the FALLOUT) are racist or something and try to kill them
also there's mormons??? idk what they're doing there
no i have not done any research whatsoever
LMAO I'm sorry all of my silly jokes must make no sense fallout explained now:
So basically fallout takes place in an alternate timeline where we never stopped using nuclear energy and it never stopped being the 50s, Everybody was kind of chilling for a while until everybody started running out of gasoline and there were a bunch of big wars until after like a while China and America went to war And started throwing nukes at each other which like completely blew up the world.
Luckily for some humans a company named vault tech may these state-of-the-art vaults to keep people safe on paper.
Edit: I'm sorry I didn't mean to post this yet sorry!!!
In reality a lot of them contain nasty experiments, To see how people do under like serious pressure and also just for giggles.
Unluckily for literally everybody else the world is horrible. Some people were extra unlucky and got such a heavy dose of radiation when the bonds dropped they turned into Ghoul And everybody else doesn't like Ghoul because Ghoul can go Feral and Feral goals fuck you up.
Also there's other mutants out in the wasteland like super mutants who are people who got dipped in this like super toxic goop called FEV. They're like big green guys. They aren't important to the AU but important to fall out
And of course about the mormons that's a plot point I took from the canceled fallout game Van Buren. There was a vault, vault 70 which was Filled to the brim with mormons who had to deal with the vault's experiment of running out of clothes after like 2 months.... IDK I think after that a bunch of mormons would be really really pissed...
#fallout x fnaf#fallout#Also I didn't know much about fall out Utah so I just threw them in because that's like what the few things I know LOL

What are we even doing here?
The more people who understand there are ways to meet your needs, and not at the cost of someone else's needs, the better. Particularly if they don't hold bigoted views which lead to silly things like going out of your way to prevent someone else from having their needs met. Making the world worse for someone because you don't know how to make it better for yourself. Life's hard enough without wasting your precious time, energy, and creative force on how to afflict your neighbor.
For my part, I like to think there are more people in the world who like the concept of mutual aid and are merely making do with the current capitalistic-zero-sum game until something better crystalizes--in spite of the system shouting so loud about itself, good or ill, in an effort to make it difficult to hear alternatives. Which is why I believe "solidarity over charity" is such an approachable proposition, regardless of the generation to which you have been ascribed by whomever does the sorting. I mean, Peter Singer was talking about this in the 70's. You have an obligation as a member of society to take measures to preserve wellness and uplift the vulnerable--give until giving any more would cause you harm. You get to decide where that dividing line is based on your finances, energy levels, social support network, available time, mobility, etc. As long as you set that line earnestly, then you are fulfilling the obligation which entitles you to the benefits of other member's solidarity.
The thing is, we're cornered. Restricted in analyses of all the options we could use to compose more humane systems. Isolated from what we could become, by a constant stream of shock doctrines induced by manufactured-disasters. So, mutual aid remains considered a coping strategy, rather than a cultural driving force for fundamental change, for the time being. Though, there's the rub, in that if there is always a new disaster, there is always a perceived need of relief prioritized over sustainable growth, which means the mutual aid has to become a political driving force to get ahead of the source of constructed woes.
I say that while also being painfully aware that discussion of any ideology beyond the current paradigm is defined by capitalistic expectations. Alternatives are invariably framed as monstrous inevitabilities in the supposed disastrous event of dismantlement, at least until they're cut open and adapted to fulfill a material component requisite to quell dissenting voices. "We can have social programs, yes, but it's not socialism, socialism is bad. Capitalism is good, which is why you have these social programs. Ignore other countries that have been providing more of these benefits for much longer, and devote more relative resources." Every other ideology is either fodder to be exploited for some new way to market what we have, or is dismissed/reviled for significant lack of traits that we already have in the devil we know. Which is very convenient for finding more fodder. Why would we want any system we make from here on anything like capitalism? We have to keep in mind that we are not looking for a better release appeal to make before an intractable captor. We are looking for the strategy that will attract enough confidence from fellow captives. To disenchant the captivated of the all consuming capitalist notion that virtue is derived from the free market's advertised high proficiency value generation.
What value? It definitely lets select groups pool resources, making their coffers more "valuable" in a fiscal sense, but where is the Value in that for a society? If its only claim to fame is that it can move numbers around faster and wont judge you for neglecting people's needs, then what does it actually do for us collectively that another system can't? Capitalism's whole premise relies on you not having enough, on you believing that there is not enough out there, that the only way you can have enough is to get there before someone else gets it and you're left with The Zero-Sum. But why would we take that on blind faith? What if there is a way to play the Positive-Sum game and we're just sitting on that because we assume its a fantasy?
How tragic to realize that the whole time you were suffering an obscene Sallie Mae loan, there could have been a non-tuition option. How mortifying to learn the medical bills that were artificially inflated by the relationship between the hospital and your insurance could have been handled by the taxes you already pay. The rent that serves as your proof of earning the right to live, assuaged with universal basic income. The chronic anxiety, stress, and aggression born from a machine of impersonal jobs that can leverage social class and basic needs to claim a third of your life for the least possible compensation possible; replaced with all the possibilities of a well rested mind and body.
Why would we as a collective people ever opt-in to the gamified social hierarchy?
What are we even still doing here?
#this was originally supposed to be a two sentence post#solarpunk#anti capitalism#mutual aid#zero sum#positive sum#solidarity not charity#universal healthcare#universal basic income#free education#right to housing#Also the internet should be recognized as an essential utility

OKAY SO—I AM CURRENTLY IN THE MIDDLE OF MY 3D ASSESSMENT FOR ART SCHOOL AND IM LIKE 70 TO 80 PERCENT DONE BUT I DO NOT CARE—WHEN NANAGO STRIKES, NANAGO STRIKERS
context—i was peacefully chatting with a schoolmate abt said 3d assessment while my sister was playing thru the genshin nahida birthday event. i didnt exactly see her screen but i didnt need to because back when i used to play genshin, nahida was one of my favorite characters and her archon quest is so good—both lorewise and storytelling wise
the reason this caught my attention was because one of the nahida birthday cutscenes for the event played and it was—LSFJGHKl it was one of my favorite genshin character trailers ever played and i watched it over and over and it lives dormant in my heart—here it is! it is required watching for context LMAO
youtube
NOW—to the people that KNOW, yall can probably suspect whats coming up. and to the people that dont—lemme lay it down "havent played genshin in 1 to 3 years" style LMAO
TLDR: nahida, the child god of wisdom, was captured and trapped by scholars that serve as the kind of? governing body of her nation. for the past 500 odd years or so, she has been used as a sort of "god battery" to power the equivalent of the internet on steroids. during this time, the scholars have grown displeased with her and her ideas of knowledge and wisdom as they clashed with their own, and collaborated with a terrorist organization to make their own god of wisdom. both the scholars and said terrorist organization fail, thanks to the actions of the MC and nahida, and she is returned back to her rightful place as god and ruler of said nation
i skipped thru a lot of details but thats the main gist of it. im kind of impressed since i just—pulled that off dome with no reference lmaooo. but YES, now that the housekeeping is done, its nanago time KLJGSRL;GhJN
what if, when gojo was sealed in the prison realm, kenjaku hadn't immediately thrown him into the marianas trench but instead used it similarly to how nahida was used like a battery? because i mean—it would make sense, considering the amount of cursed energy needed to keep those insane barriers up for the culling games, and to pull non-participants out of the culling games areas via the cursed realm. gojo would also serve as a good backup if his original plan for the merger ever fails—aka merging tengen with all of humanity. they could instead merge gojo's filtered cursed energy or gojo himself or something with all of humanity itself. he could also speed up his plan of turning everyone into sorcerers via using gojo as a battery to use Idle Transfiguration on a massive scale
but—thats just main plot stuff, the thing i wanna focus on is the nitty gritty of it—like gojo's experience inside the prison realm, how the "battery function" works, and how he'd be able to escape with nanami's help. and OFC nanami's there, how tf can it be nanago without the other half of the equation??? LDFJLBKj
i actually have a bunch of ideas already, with this main one being the strongest—the battery function, i imagine, needs to open the Prison just barely enough for some cursed energy to seep out to be used. maybe itll come out thru the eyes or something—that part doesnt matter as much as this next part. when it slightly opens, theres always gonna be the smallest chance that whoever's inside, aka gojo, can break out so, theres a function imbedded in it that renders whats inside mostly unable to function
and THIS is the part where we get really into the nahida inspiration. in the main story of the game, there is an entire plot where you're essentially in a pseudo-time loop and you've been looping for countless times and, if you hadn't figured out that you were in a pseudo-time loop, you DEFINITELY would've died. nahida helps you out because you're not the only one in said time loop, EVERYONE IS and she doesnt particularly want everyone to fucking die. with her help and some ace attorney-esque deduction, you find out that the pseudo-time loop is actually a looping dream and to break out of the murder dream time loop, you have to wake up the person who the bad guys attached the murder dream time loop to and is projecting to literally everyone.
i feel like you can see where im going with this.
everytime the cursed realm is used as a battery, gojo has to time loop relive a memory. i was originally thinking that he would have to relive a bad memory for the angst, but ive come up with a better idea that makes more sense
when its open/used as a battery, he relives a nice memory/has a nice dream. this is to ensure that he doesnt want to leave, and just stays in the comfort of the dream. when its closed/not used as a battery, he relives bad memories/goes through nightmares. this is because cursed energy is made from negative emotions, and this is the Prison Realm just "charging" itself
its not a full concept yet—im toying with the idea of having nanami try to get in while its open to get gojo out and try to convince him to leave the sweet dream (kind of hsr penacony of me lmao), or for nanami to be suuuuuper dead and for his memory to torment gojo in the nightmare when kenjaku isnt using it
eitherway, its a p fun concept and idea to think abt, and if you wanna take this idea and run with it? PLEASE DO OH MY GOD YOU HAVE MY FULLY BLESSING KFRHDSGklj
#my official deadline for my 3d assessment is tonight lmao#its fine tho#late submissions are accepted and walk cycles are pretty easy anyways lmaooooo#jjk#jujutsu kaisen#gojo satoru#nanago#nanami kento#wynn talks#gojo x nanami#nanami kento x gojo satoru#nanami x gojo#Youtube#wynn's story ideas

WK6 - POLTERGEIST
Are you wondering why I didn’t put a picture of a poltergeist on this image? Let me give you a scenario to help it make sense. You’re sitting at home. It’s close to midnight and you are in your bed, scrolling on your phone. You start getting comfortable, feeling your eyes close. Then you hear something. A crash from somewhere around your house. You sit up in a panic. What was it? You get up and try to figure out where that sound came from. You look everywhere, until you see a glass cup shattered all over the floor. But you don’t remember knocking that down? Knocking from inside your house echos through your walls now. Where could the noise be coming from? Who is in your house? You try everything to search for who is causing these noising, but you can’t. They are nowhere to be found. In this blog, a scarier experience may not be when you know what’s causing the noise, but instead when you don’t know the source of it.
Poltergeists are rooted in folklore and myths. They are noisy, mischievous sprits found in many cultures throughout history. The term originates from German, where “poltergeist” means “noisy ghost”. “Poltergeist” meaning to crash or bang, and “geist” meaning ghost or spirit. Early references to spirits causing disturbances can be tracked back to ancient texts, where restless sprits were thought to disrupt the living. These spirits were often considered angry souls or demons. They were often attributed to witches, demons, or malevolent sprits in the Middle Ages. Poltergeist stories became more common in Europe during the 17th and 18th century. Many of these accounts involved unexplained noises, objects moving, or even people being harmed. In the 19th and 20th century, some paranormal researches suggested that poltergeist activities might not involve spirits, but could be caused by unconscious psychokinetic energy. In the 20th century, parapsychologists examined poltergeists as a distinct type of haunting. Poltergeists could manifest through stress, trauma, or unresolved emotions, often in young individuals.
There are a ton of stories about Poltergeists, some might even be real, like this one..
The Thornton Health Case:
“The Thornton Heath poltergeist is one of those real-life poltergeist stories that send shivers up your spine when you read about it. In the late 70s, a poltergeist tormented the family for nearly four years, answering the question, “do poltergeists exist?” very succinctly for the individuals in the house. A clock radio turned on in the middle of the night, kick-starting events, and at Christmas, the tree shook. Ornaments were flung around the room and their son woke up in the middle of the night to find an old man in his room after hearing footsteps throughout the house. Bangs and crashes were heard, but on many occasions, nothing was disturbed. Eventually, after consulting a medium, it was found that the man seen in the bedroom was called Chatterton, who thought of the family living in the house as trespassers. The activity in the house occurred as a way to get the family out. Chatterton’s wife was even seen in the house too. Luckily, when the family left the house after four short years, the poltergeist activity stopped with them and nothing has been reported since.”
Some people might say it was the wind, but could it be something else?
Phasmophobia is a multiplayer horror game where players take on the role of ghost hunters, working together to investigate haunted locations and identify different types of supernatural entities. The game is known for its immersive atmosphere and use of paranormal investigation tools like EMF readers, spirit boxes, and cameras.
In the game, players must gather evidence to figure out what kind of ghost is haunting a particular location. The types of ghosts range from Poltergeists to Demons, each with different behaviors and clues that help players identify them. The twist is that the ghost can also hunt the players, making the game a mix of strategic puzzle-solving and survival horror.
Phasmophobia has become popular for its cooperative gameplay, spooky ambiance, and the added thrill of voice recognition, which allows players to communicate with the ghost through their in-game microphones.
In Phasmophobia, the Poltergeist is a ghost known for its ability to manipulate physical objects. It is often considered one of the most dangerous ghosts in the game because it can throw multiple objects at once, which can create chaos for players, especially in rooms with many items. This ability to move objects makes it easier to identify a Poltergeist when compared to other ghosts.
You can identify it with a spirit box (which responds to a player’s questions through speaking in real life), fingerprints (which can be found on light switches, doors, or windows), and a ghost orb (which is a floating orb seen through a camera)
It’s strengths in the game can consist of being able to throw multiple items at once, which makes it every effective in areas with a lot of objects. Its weakness is an empty room with a few objects, which makes it become almost powerless, as it relies on items to trigger its abilities.
Players typically try to observe a Poltergeist by watching for abnormal object movement and listening for loud, sudden noises, which are signs that this ghost is interacting with its environment.
It’s a fun game, especially with friends. Try it out!
Poltergeist (1982) (I know, how original of me to pick this specific movie), is a supernatural horror film directed by Tobe Hooper and produced by Steven Spielberg. It follows the story of the Freeling family, who live in a suburban California home that becomes haunted by malevolent spirits. The haunting starts with seemingly harmless occurrences, like objects moving on their own, but quickly escalates into terrifying events.
The spirits, or “poltergeists,” eventually abduct the youngest daughter, Carol Anne, trapping her in another dimension. The family must seek help from paranormal experts and a spiritual medium to rescue her and cleanse their home of the vengeful entities.
The movie is famous for its eerie atmosphere, groundbreaking special effects, and its iconic line, “They’re here,” spoken by Carol Anne when the spirits first make contact. It also explores themes of family unity, the afterlife, and the consequences of disturbing sacred ground, as the house is revealed to be built on a former cemetery.
Poltergeist became a classic in the horror genre, spawning sequels and a remake.
youtube
There is the “They’re here” line I was talking about.
To close this post off, I’d say I have experiences of stuff knocking over in my house. I always thought it was the wind though, in some way. I don’t believe in ghosts. And I’d like to keep it that way. I’ll admit, I have heard noises in my house before, but I’m so used to it at this point. Poltergeists were always interesting to me though. I’d always watch those scary “real” videos when I was younger, and of course I’d believe it. Who knows though, they might be real, but I’d rather not think about that right now. When it happens in front of me, like something knocking over with no explanation at all, that’s when I start to get a little bit confused. But I refuse to believe ghosts are real. All I’ve ever known are Poltergeists moving and knocking objects over, and making noises.
No open windows, no wide open doors, no incoming wind.. and yet you feel a presence invading your space, what will you do now?

Marcie Barrett, 35, was born and raised in Chattanooga, Tennessee, into a household that valued discipline and education above all else. Her parents, David Barrett, 68, a philosophy professor, and Evelyn Barrett, 66, a piano and violin teacher, were strict but nurturing. Education and classical music were pillars in the Barrett home, and Marcie and her older brother, James Barrett, 38, were expected to excel academically and musically from a young age.
From early on, Marcie showed signs of being exceptionally bright but was unusually quiet. She learned to play both the violin and piano at an early age under her mother's tutelage, showing great promise. However, her parents became concerned when she didn’t start talking when expected. But when she finally spoke, it was in full sentences, catching everyone off guard and revealing a depth of understanding beyond her years.
Despite her quiet and reserved nature, Marcie’s life took a shocking turn when, at 17, she became pregnant. Given her introverted demeanor, some people in her circle jokingly called her the "next Virgin Mary" because no one had ever seen her talk to anyone enough to get kissed, let alone pregnant. The baby’s father wasn’t involved, and when her parents discovered her pregnancy, they were furious and kicked her out of the house.
With nowhere to go, Marcie turned to an older woman from her neighborhood, Estelle Harrington, 79, a retired civil rights attorney who had become like a grandmother to her over the years. Marcie and Estelle had bonded over their shared love of chess, and Estelle had often regaled Marcie with stories of her life as a civil rights attorney in the 1960s and 70s. Estelle welcomed Marcie into her home and became her primary support system during this difficult time. Estelle helped Marcie navigate motherhood, watching her daughter while Marcie finished high school and eventually went on to college.
Marcie gave birth to her daughter, Lila Barrett, who is now 18 years old. Lila is creative, bubbly, and full of energy, with a deep love for art and a fascination with marine life, which she gets from her mother. Lila is currently deciding whether she wants to pursue a career in graphic design or marine conservation. She’s into painting, loves sea turtles, and dislikes anything related to math, despite her mother’s encouragement.
Marcie, meanwhile, completed her degree in marine biology and now works at the local aquarium, where she focuses on the rehabilitation of marine life. She is passionate about ocean conservation and finds solace in her work.
Her hobbies include playing the piano when she has downtime, reading up on marine research, and occasionally indulging in a game of chess with Estelle, who remains an important figure in her life. Marcie has a sharp, inquisitive mind and enjoys activities that require focus and precision, such as knitting and solving puzzles.
Personality-wise, Marcie is still the quiet, thoughtful woman she’s always been. She listens more than she speaks but, when she does, it’s always with purpose. She’s compassionate and has a dry sense of humor that only those close to her get to witness. Marcie is very much a nurturer, especially with Lila, but also with the animals at the aquarium. She has a small, close-knit circle of people she deeply cares for, with Estelle being at the heart of it.

The Interior Design trend sets to define 2025: A year Where Innovation meets style
As we approach 2025, the world of interior design is evolving into an exciting blend of high-tech innovations, sustainability, and aesthetic revival. The upcoming year promises to be a game-changer, with designers pushing the boundaries of what it means to create a living or working space. Here’s a sneak peek into the trends that will shape the interiors of 2025, perfect for design enthusiasts and anyone looking to stay ahead of the curve.
1. Nature Indoors: Greener, Please!
Bringing nature into our homes continues to be a huge trend. In 2025, it's all about going big with plants. Imagine large indoor trees, cascading hanging plants, and even entire walls covered in greenery. Not only do they look stunning, but they also make spaces feel more relaxing. So, expect to see homes filled with natural light, plants that purify the air, and spaces that feel alive with nature.
2. Homes That Think for You: Smarter Than Ever
Smart homes are becoming even smarter! In 2025, technology and design come together like never before. Instead of just having gadgets, imagine homes that adapt to your mood—like lights that change colour to match how you’re feeling or furniture that adjusts to your body. With voice commands, gestures, or even facial recognition, your home will know how to make you comfortable before you even ask.
3. Making the Most of Small Spaces
With cities getting more crowded, people are looking for clever ways to make small spaces look bigger i.e. going minimalist with maximalism. In 2025, the trend is all about multifunctional furniture and smart designs. Think foldable beds that turn into desks, or tables that double as storage units. It’s about creating flexible spaces that look great and meet your needs, no matter how small your home is.
4. Retro Vibes: A Flashback to the 70s and 80s
If you love the bold colours and funky patterns of the 70s and 80s, you’re in luck. These decades are making a comeback, but with a modern twist. Designers are blending bright oranges, greens, and geometric shapes with sleek furniture and clean lines. It’s a playful yet refined look that brings the fun of the past into today’s homes.
5. Texture, Texture, Texture!
In 2025, it’s all about how things feel. Designers are layering different textures to make spaces more interesting. Smooth surfaces like marble or glass will be paired with soft, cozy elements like wool, velvet, or natural fibers. Designers will use texture to create contrast—think plush rugs on concrete floors or rough wood with sleek metals. This layering of textures makes rooms feel warm, inviting, and full of life, giving even minimalist spaces a sense of richness and personality.
6. Eco-Friendly Design That Doesn’t Compromise on Style
Sustainability is becoming more than just a buzzword; it’s the heart of interior design in 2025. But being eco-friendly no longer means boring. Designers are blending recycled materials with luxe finishes, creating spaces that look amazing and help the environment. Think furniture made from reclaimed wood, upcycled decor, and homes designed to save energy. It’s all about living responsibly, but beautifully.
Wrapping It Up
The interior design trends of 2025 are all about mixing the old with the new, embracing technology, and staying eco-friendly—all while creating spaces that feel comfortable and stylish. Whether you’re a fan of bold colors, smart gadgets, or cozy textures, there’s something exciting for everyone in the year ahead.
So, if you're thinking about updating your home, 2025 is the perfect time to get creative and try something new!

Pokemon Card of the Day #2886: Gligar (Neo Genesis)
Gligar saw a surprising amount of play in its day, being built somewhat like some of the earliest Pokemon. It was a free retreating Pokemon that only took Colorless Energy, being good with Double Colorless Energy in theory. Once the game moved to Rocket-On, Double Colorless Energy was gone, and Gligar still saw some use despite this. The stats probably had a good bit to do with that, even if its best was on so many other Pokemon.
60 HP was just below what the old standard of 70 was. 60 was still workable especially once PlusPower rotated out, as quite a few attacks landed around 50 at the time. The Grass Weakness was a real pain against Crobat and Erika's Victreebel, Pokemon used to help with the quite dominant Feraligatr. The Fighting Resistance was a bit less useful but had some use against Donphan and completely blocked Tyrogue. Gligar could also retreat for free, letting it work as a pivot if needed. Pivots were very easy to find at the time, which made it a bit less useful. Still very nice, though.
Poison Sting was 10 damage and a flip for Poison for a Fighting Energy. This wasn't really the reason people used Gligar, but Poison could shut off some Pokemon Powers so it was okay in a deck with that type of Energy in a pinch.
Slash was just a straightforward 20 damage for 2 Colorless Energy. This had some use in Base-Neo to hit Weakness, as a Double Colorless Energy let you do 40 to a Jigglypuff or the like. It was less useful in Rocket-On and Neo-On since there were fewer good targets (Fighting Weakness was somewhat rare) and it needed 2 attachments instead of 1.
Gligar was used a surprising amount even in Rocket-On, probably for being a pivot that resisted Tyrogue's attacks. Tyrogue was pretty popular in some areas, so the play made sense in that context even though the wider game wasn't the most kind to it. In the context of the format the way it's played now, Gligar probably isn't worth it outside of a silly Base-Neo play where you really expect the opponent to load up on Weaknesses to it, like taking out an Aipom or Erika's Jigglypuff. Pivots on their own, of course, were as easy to come by as using a Cleffa, and Gligar added just a tiny bit more to make it slightly useful.

It goes without saying that if an up-and-coming hero wants to help build their brand, it's important for them to have some sort of presence on social media.
While some of the heroes in older age brackets end up joining platforms in an attempt to bridge the gap with younger prospective fans, for new heroes of a younger persuasion, their success as a hero and their popularity online end up feeding into one another to help chart their course up the national leader boards.
Here are a few examples of 'rising star' heroes young and old and their respective online platforms:
Amily Garen: She is very active and outspoken on Bluejay, particularly in regard to both dragon and LGBT issues and media, but her biggest audiences outside her hero work are from her Pictogram profile where she shares workout videos, her adventures in parkour around the city, various self-defense tips, and the occasional clip of her hero work. One of the most Online of the heroes.
Snow Angel: All her personal pages are private, but she does have a Bluejay and yet to be named YouTube equivalent account for her band, Chelsea Says, which are both pretty active.
Good Ol' Greg: Despite being well into his 70s, he's wildly popular on Bluejay. It was recently discovered that he was the man behind his universe's equivalent of dril and it was worldwide news for like a week. Nobody saw it coming, but honestly, they really should have.
Kid Cthulhu: He's actually a pretty prolific artist online whose work tends to get reposted without credit more often than he'd like. He's very popular among teenagers and fans of the eldritch and macabre, but purportedly maintains a second persona for "normie" art that is also pretty popular. Nobody knows what the latter is though, only that he's out there, somewhere...
Cadence: She actually makes more money streaming video games than she does as a hero, which given the average salary within the hero industry for someone signed to a major agency such as her is really saying something. She's famous for her deep conversations on life, philosophy, and mental health with her chat while simultaneously no scoping e-sport pros like it's nothing.
Miyamoto Takuma: Also pushing 70, Takuma actually has a fairly successful travel blog. As the only pro hero allowed to work *without* an agency, he isn't bound to only areas his agency has a presence or affiliate in, or to the random assist request. He's always traveling the country and tends to take beautiful photographs of locals and environments.
Cheshire: She's an extremely popular food blogger on Pictogram. She's also a frequent sight in engineering circles all across the internet, both in the comments and in sharing projects of her own. All her tech is homegrown, after all, and she loves to share her inventions, innovations, and expertise.
Rave: Active on Bluejay. They speak entirely in emojis and textless reaction images. Their energy is that of some godforsaken combination of Deadpool, Harley Quinn, and the Joker with the aesthetic of an edgy Japanese schoolgirl with a weird sense of humor. They pop up in the most random places and run the single largest botnet on the internet for the sole purpose of trolling politicians in every country on Earth.
Amanda Reins: Very popular on that YouTube equivalent with videos of her various builds and robots. Think Adam Savage but if he also made fully autonomous semi-intelligent robots. She's also one of the internet's most well-known and respected white hat hackers.
Jack Hyde: Even villains need an online presence in the modern day. There are actually two Jack Hyde accounts active on Bluejay right now, each proclaiming to be the *real* successor to the name. Jack Hyde is one of the few legacy villains who has been represented by multiple people over the decades.
Providence: Extremists? Terrorists? Liberators? It all depends on who you ask. But they are absolutely everywhere online, from the front page to the deepest, darkest, nichest corners you can imagine. Their manifestos are as popular as they are eloquent, and are suspected to have drawn in 90% of its current members.
