or we can consider you and megumi growing up in the south pole together, it’s a small town so it’s not a coincidence that you two become friends, even if megumi is a little gruff at first. you two do everything together, even though your water bending abilities start to differ as you get older—you become much more mischievous, while megumi becomes focused on precision and healing. it’s why, despite the tradition being father and son to go out hunting, toji takes you out to sea to go ice fishing and you always run back home to megumi with your capture in hand, damn near tackling him every time and happily proclaiming you caught his favorite; and every time he tells you to calm down and not cause a scene, but you don’t, and toji and his mom chuckle as you tackle him and megumi tries to blush and wrangles you into a seat inside while he helps his mom with dinner. and really, all is well until some snobby prince from another town claims that your family is indebted to his and that you’re betrothed as collateral and everyone finds out very quickly that even though megumi spent all his time focusing on healing, that he’s still toji’s son and can make one hell of a tsunami if it calls for it. (and when the storm, literally, passes, megumi huffs as he digs through his belonging and stuffs a necklace in your hand and all you can do is blink and wonder what’s going on while his mom snickers in the background and winks at you “i think that’s a proposal, dear.”)

orrrrrr even though i firmly believe in airbender satoru superiority, i do make an exception for stealing yue’s plot line and making satoru a waterbender and prince who’s hair is only white because he blessed and saved by the moon spirit when he was very young. ofc, that’s not enough to make him nearly as humble as he should be, and satoru spends all his days ignoring his princely duties and bothering you and a nanami instead, ditching his masters and servants in favor of pouting at you to teach him your skills instead because satoru wholly believes his duty is not to serve as the bridge between his people and the moon, but instead to annoy you and hopefully make you mrs half-moon someday

Feel free to ignore this, but I have to ask since I've been rewatching yugioh 5ds and you're one of the very few blogs I've searched that mentioned Satellite Bros age order. I'd love to hear your thoughts on this and if you know other blogs that talk about it.

Word of god canon is that the age order is Jack (19), Yusei (18), and Crow (17), at the start of the series.

But while you can make an argument that Yusei would have records, people who knew when he was born, or at least a birth certificate, Jack and Crow are orphans. If Jack is indeed 19, then he would have been roughly a year old when Zero Reverse happened, likely killing his parents, at the very least destroying a massive amount of city infrastructure. You tell me Jack knows his birthday and I press (X) to doubt.

Crow is apparently canonically younger than Yusei, but. His parents also died in Zero Reverse.

This. This straight up does not work.

Also Yusei is shown to be a baby when Zero Reverse occurred and if Crow's parents did indeed die in Zero Reverse when he was under a year old he there is NO WAY he would live much longer than that. That's just. How babies work.

CROW HOGAN HAS TO BE OLDER THAN YUSEI.

I will die on this hill. I watched the show thinking Crow was the middle brother and then learned their apparent canon ages after because he has to be older than Yusei for any of his backstory to make sense. Konami can fight me on this.

NARRATIVELY they are the middle and youngest child. Jack has Past motifs, Crow is Present, and Yusei is Future. Jack and Yusei's whole dynamic is the most oldest sibling vs youngest sibling drama possible.

As for Jack, I always like to think it was his birthday like, a week before Yusei leaves Satellite, because being a Newly Minted Twenty Year Old explains everything about his personality.

seen a few people a few places talk about trying to flee the country and. I'm talking white, able-bodied, queer and trans people. I am not seeing people of color talk that way. I am not seeing physically disabled people make those posts.

its got me thinking about how these marginalizations and privileges intersect, because obviously you do have to actually be afraid to want to flee your country- but it's not the people in the most risk.

i'm going to say it: I don't understand this country-wide emergency alert. we have a provision at uni for anyone who has the uni app (so all staff and students) that gives us a push notification if there's a real emergency - like a site-wide fire or a marauding terrorist ig - but to my knowledge it's never been used, only tested. that makes sense as a localised thing but for the whole country??? idk maybe i'm just not seeing the bigger picture

I totally understand what you're saying about the breed transparency issue but I also feel its a more grey area because in addition to there being a stigma against pit bulls there also can be legal issues with owning a pit bull such as higher insurance costs and places with certain pit bull ordinances and places where they can even be banned, so by not outright stating they're pit bulls I believe it allows owners more legal freedoms

that's true, and im certainly against breed bans and that sort of thing, but the fact is many pet owners are not dog savvy enough to recognize a pit when they see one somehow. so it's still not particularly fair to owners and dogs alike to mislead people about breed. I know they're trying to make people adopt their dogs but shouldnt they want their dogs to be placed in homes that won't 1) return them or 2) fail to provide them basic enrichment/energy needs?

A) We don't know that Legolas is Thranduil's only son. For all we know he's the third or fourth son. I'm sure Thranduil would be upset if something happened to him, but for many reasons he's not going to go to war with Rivendell.

B) Legolas got sent to Rivendell to deliver the news that the elves of Mirkwood let Gollum escape. Thranduil knows this is a serious failure that is going to have consequences for everyone, including Mirkwood. I expect that Legolas is enough of a diplomat to understand that part of being the bearer of bad tidings was finding a way to make amends.

C) By volunteering to join the quest to destroy the Ring, Legolas is basically offering a kind of reparation. He's taking a very serious risk to help undo/prevent some of the damage caused by Gollum's escape. Thranduil likely would expect no less.

D) Legolas is an adult and a diplomat. He's clearly given enough autonomy to act that he can make this decision for himself, without asking permission.

I find it fascinating that they let Legolas go on the journey, because speaking in terms of politics, letting the only known Prince of Mirkwood go on a life-threatening journey to Mordor, presumably, without letting the king of Mirkwood know, is batshit insane.
