the acolyte’s fight scenes are so refreshing! this is the franchise with the best fictional weapon of all time, the laser sword, and acolyte takes the enormous risk of de-prioritizing this weapon. the majority of the fights are pure martial arts, wrestling + the force, and they even manufacture a situation where a jedi HAS to turn his saber off, or he’ll get killed. that’s how most of the characters die/get defeated, too: without a saber. AND IT PAYS OFF! even in a climatic ep like this where all the sabers need to come out, it gives the fights so much more weight. we understand that now the sabers are out, it’s serious. when jecki starts dual wielding, we know it’s dire. prior comedy beats like a saber’s hilt getting damaged (anakin’s in aotc) can now be played for horror. there’s so much creativity on display here, i hope all modern star war action follows suit

it really kills me that we never get to find out cameron’s full backstory in house md. it’s heavily implied that she has some kind of previous trauma or something that led to her being Like This, that existed before the dead husband thing. when she admits that she had a husband who died, house even outright says "that’s not the whole story. it’s a symptom, not your illness" (s1e7), because he has realised that she must have known the guy was dying when she met him and still set herself up for a horrific heartbreak. yet we learn very little of her background in the series and we never get an answer to what causes her to… well… be the way she is! hyper-focused on morality, kind and compassionate to a fault, but alternately extremely cold and unempathetic the second she disagrees with someone, erratic, a romantic, yet also incapable of maintaining a relationship, lovingly devoted but only ever to the wrong people, willing to give everything for nothing in return in the most unhealthy way.
like this scene is so clearly a set up for a future episode about her backstory, and we never get it! we never know! all the info we get about her past is that she was arrested once as a teenager and she has an unnamed older brother who is alluded to one time! why was she even arrested? we don’t know! why did she try to get house off her tail by giving the dead husband story but intentionally leaving out the crucial detail that she knew the guy was dying when she met him? we’ll never find out! if these are all symptoms, as house puts it, what’s her illness? it’s killing me. we’ll never understand her properly.

Like even if he's not gay solid snake has a family he lives with for many years composed of another man and a little girl for which they are the closest thing to parents she has. This is a fact.

Really really funny to me when people try to defend their thesis of mabel being a bad person by saying 'gideon was also a kid, why aren't you defending him??' And then you rewatch the show and gideon is a comic relief antagonist archetype of a misogynist acting as a nice-guy to emotionally manipulate and kidnap the girl he wants to date and mabel accidentally broke a jar

revstar fans we need to put on the best talent show this towns ever seen and save ReLive!!
#revue starlight#NOT TAKING THE NEWS WELL AT ALL. MY GIRLS THEYRE TAKING MY GIRLS AWAY FROM ME!#like its been a part of my daily routine for like a year and half now... im not gonna know what to do with myself#i really cant stand all the people being like HAHA EAT SHIT AND DIE GACHA GAME#like i will not defend the gacha aspect. i wish it it did not have to be a gacha. i acknowledge gacha games as a concept suck#but like relive wasnt some souless cash grab gacha game#the writers clearly had real passion for what they were doing. they had stories to share with us in the revue starlight universe#and sadly the way things are shitty gacha game was how they were able to make it possible#and truly it had such amazing stories. like. theres no media quite like rev star. a complete cast of female characters#all of them complex and flawed and getting to have big messy feelings!! and fighting eachother with magic swords about those feelings!!#all the different relationships between them love and rivalry and friendships and sisterhoods all complicated and fleshed out#LIKE IT JUST MEANT MUCH TO HAVE THE STEADY STREAM OF COMPELLING STORIES ENTIRY FOCUSED ON GIRLS#and now its going to be gone. i know theres still all the other revstar medoa and hope they keep doing stuff with the francise#i hope we see the frontier and rinmeikan girls again someday. they honestly had the most moments that made my jaw drop#onward to the next stage#right?#anyways do you get it talent show lol cause theyre stage performers

this idea for a non-chronological, very whumpy storyline has been bugging me
It follows Leslie, a thug-in-training, who's good at her job and likes what she's doing until she's ordered to kill someone she once knew and cared for.
Compelled to obey, she does the job but with horrible consequences. Rarely cool or collected, Leslie confronts her Organizer about what they made her do. Now, she's not only banned from leaving the organization, but they force her to go through intensive training so she "never forgets her place again".
The storyline would jump around from Leslie's time before she signed a contract with the Organization, with her girlfriend Swift, to her time training under her mentor, Kaspian; and to the fall out of her mission and how The Organizer wears her down to a shadow of what she used to be. The message is clear and unyielding: Leslie will conform, or she will be destroyed. The organization’s iron grip tightens, reshaping her into a weapon conditioned to never forget her place again. Then there would be the rescue and vengeance arc and Leslie sets several people things on fire.
I've written a few parts, but should I post them?
Let me know if you'd want to be tagged in any of this

give me dorcas meadowes angst. give me dorcas meadowes realizing her friends' prejudice and terrible ideals, and starting to hang out with the gryffindor girls. give me dorlene will they won't they. give me dorcas slowly falling for marlene, but denying it at first. give me marlene being head over heels for her, but thinking it's just friendly because she's never seen a sapphic couple before. give me their devotion starting as friends, before they confess, but by then they're running out of time.

you know, i always find it really funny when dudebros complain about syndicate and odyssey being too "jokey" or not "taking its characters seriously" or whatever…
like, did y'all collectively sleep through "it's-a me, mario!", "i meant besides vaginas", ezio inventing the latte, bartolomeo's... just... *gestures vaguely* entire character, etc?
like, it's fine to have preferences of course, i myself prefer a more serious and grounded tone, but these are usually the same people who tout the ezio trilogy as "peak assassin's creed", call ac1 a glorified tech demo and hate on connor for being "too serious and boring", like? make it make sense!
#asscreed#ac syndicate#ac odyssey#dont get me wrong#i do have problems with syndicate and even more so with odyssey#but it's not the tone lol#honestly i think kassandra is the protagonist that's the most similar to ezio if you really think about it#but bc she's a woman she's suddenly 'overpowered' and 'unrealistic'#yall don't remember the insane things that ezio survives in revelations do you#speaking of which#been replaying the ezio games lately#and i have something to confess...... i really don't think ac2 is good#ac brotherhood was a BIG improvement#in terms of story pacing for one (none of those insane unmotivated time jumps... well aside from the strange montage at the end)#and the characters are a lot more fleshed out (probably bc there aren't like 20 of them)#and the handling of female characters is MUCH less egregious#maybe bc there's only really claudia and caterina left LOL#lucrezia is a little annoying i guess... but she gets a pass bc she's cesare's sister and really they're the same kind of crazy lol#and hey we actually get to see how dangerous sex work can be and how it's not just a way for sexy nuns to give inner peace to men#even cristina gets fleshed out!#and i like that we get so see ezio being a little bit of a selfish prick in her missions#and making bad decisions in interpersonal relationships#at least i THINK that's what we're supposed to take away from it... but who knows maybe it's just supposed to be a tragic love story...#i hope not.... i hope the player IS supposed to think that ezio's treatment of her is bad. otherwise.... :/#sorry for rambling#guess im just kinda surprised by how much i enjoyed brotherhood#it had been a long time since i last played it#also the modern day is really good!#that you can talk so much to everyone and also being able to read their emails and the mundane banter... idk i just think its neat :)

i just think a "friended/romanced + saved + trust aj" violet does such a good job rounding out the plot and characters of S4 and i dont say that lightly
she walls people off out of fear just like S3 clem did and learned to grow out of through the compassion of others. feeling like she could have done more to save minnie being what initially makes her step up to lead, but her accepting her love for clem (and clem choosing to save her) is what leads to her Truly accepting the school and everyone inside it as her Home and gives her something to fight for ("i tried my damnedest not to care about either of you. and i still couldnt tell you why." "i know where youre coming from. after losing so many people, sometimes its easier to keep everyone at arms length." "and then you wonder why you fight so hard to stay alive. i dont wonder anymore."). this being the reasoning behind violets detachment from the school, as well as a negative home life impacting her idea of what a home even was. but together they turn ericson from a prison into the home theyve BOTH been looking for, renaming it together, and envisioning it for the future together. the two of them understand each other deeply, from what theyve lost to how its affected them and the poor ways theyve decided to react to it. but through their support of the other, they BOTH get to evolve into more relaxed and confident versions of themselves, who know Exactly what theyre fighting for
her troubled relationship with brody and getting to learn more about what happened with the twins/violets reaction to it and how she ultimately blames herself/brodys guilt about her part in it and how she misses violet. getting the chance to mend that relationship before its too late. the 3 of them becoming closer because of it. and getting to develop clems friendship with brody leads to a more impactful moment later in the basement
her relationship with tenn reflecting clems relationship with aj, in the way they both made the decision to look after their respective boys after their primary guardians died (ajs parents, tenns sisters). both of them can understand the responsibilities they have taken upon themselves, and how hard it can be to do right. the 4 of them become a tight knit group quickly. especially in EP2 as vi supports clem while tenn supports aj through the marlon fiasco
her confused relationship with minerva introducing interesting conflict both within her relationship with clem (who has her own personal conflict with minerva, which vi still ties into through her relationship with both minnie and tenn) and the over arching plot, which has themes of learning when to let someone go because they are no longer who they once were (clem and lilly "we were family once", mitch about ms martin "you get all caught up in who people used to be, and you cant deal with whats in front of you", violet about minnie "the real minnie? shes been gone this whole time and i have to stop mourning her")
having a saved violet on the boat expanding the conversation with minerva about her motivations with the delta. violet apologizing for never looking for her, minnie saying she knows she would have but that its too late now, so sure this is just the way things have to be. getting to hear minnie say "you can be rewarded, just like i am", giving us insight into her character. and clem getting the last word before she rams the door down, her and violet fighting minnie Together. and violet saves clems life, making the Choice to shoot minerva, which in and of itself is a huge moment for violets character in regards to her relationship with both minnie And clem
and aj shooting tenn on the bridge brings things full circle, by putting violet in the same position louis was in EP2, where aj has killed the most important person to her, in an effort to save her life, and now she must reckon with those feelings the same way louis had to about marlon. not so easy now is it violet? ("so youre mad, but sad" "can i be that for a while?" "yeah, its ok")
just... ough... violets whole character just fits into Everything so well, but in a way that elevates the characters and plots around her, while also developing her into her own

this is just me projecting but i think it is entirely possible for karin to have a crush on frederica as president of iserlohn. yes sure it looks like your average teenage parasocial relationship in times of political turmoil but frederica is perfect for karin to project on. she's the puppet head of an interim government/millitary junta by her own accord, she's recently widowed, she's twenty six and has spent most of her life in a millitary environment with her father being a high level official. how much autonomy does she truly hold? also i dare you to look me in the eye and tell me she does not have father issues after the coup d'etat. technically she is also julian's stepmom(?) so she resides in the grey area between figure-on-tv and actual person in real life that you talk to occasionally. and she looks like this in a suit and pearls no offence but come on if i were karin i wouldn't even look at julian
