So as I previously made a post about it, I wondered whether Printor’s theme would sound good with Meat Factory

And so here is my try at it(keep in my I do NOT know how to mix music together and did this half-hazardly using fucking cute cut so)

Also wanted to try the other sound test songs and well…Gaster’s theme can technically fit it if you cut it up, slow it down, and repeat it a certain way

Yep, I’ve gone ahead and, in the footsteps of @artmakerproductions, made a CATCF AU—this one not being a retelling/remix of the book, but rather, a retelling of Deltarune’s story

Charlie ≈ Kris (still adopted, but by a unified hive of giant, sophont termites and honeybees rather than goat monsters)

Violet ≈ Susie (here by the beginning it’s already been a while since she had her incident, and it’s already been quite a bit since her incident (unrelated to knowing/doing anything with Charlie)—it also wasn’t anything like any adaptation, with her being more like a walking fruit corpse than a drained water balloon, inspired by musings that Artmaker and @owoiwonderwhatsthis have had on the latter’s CATCF rendition)

Wonka Awnok ≈ Ralsei; a termite-like figure reminiscent of Charlie’s older brother, Will, who has also been away for some time as a king of his own colony

Oompa Loompas Solly Lollies (the little Flowey-looking guy in the back of the first image) ≈ soul (to some extent; they’re manifestations of Charlie’s souls and not really controlling/representative of any player. the main one that’s always present has the soul icon on their outfit, which is a wrapped up candy)

My interests outside of mentioning that I’m aroace every 5 seconds are mostly writing stories, Playing Minecraft (Mostly being in fan-made life series if you know what that is, but it’s pretty niche so I doubt anyone will), and anything related to Undertale/Deltarune (I love UT/DR so much, I am absolutely obsessed with it), including AUs and such, and I’m also interested in just playing other video games as well, but Minecraft, Undertale, and Deltarune are my favorite ones.

I am openly Aroace both irl and online, so basically everyone who knows me pretty well also knows that I’m aroace at this point, although no one except my close friends and such in my school knows, as some people there are a bit queerphobic. I live in Europe.

Sorry in advance for the long ask! The nature of Darkners being literal objects brings up many fascinating questions, at least in my opinion. The obvious one is the whole Darkners serving Lightners as their purpose, because that is the purpose of their Lightworld equivalents (cards are made to be played with by Lightners, computers are made for Lightners to use, etc etc), but I feel like that one is going to be tackled in-game. The questions I'm more interested in are the ones that aren't going to be answered in-game. Somewhere in the deltarune world there is a company that sells decks of cards, that company has a factory to make those cards, one of those decks of cards was shipped to a store, that deck of cards was bought by someone who works at the Hometown school, that deck of cards was left in a classroom, a dark fountain was opened in that classroom, that deck of cards became the Darkners of the Card Kingdom. So my question is, if you got another deck of cards from that same company from that same factory and opened a dark fountain with that second deck of cards, would you get the same Darkners? Would the jack of spades from that second deck be a second Lancer, or would it be a new Darkner?

you're not wrong in pointing it out! in fact, i think the most likely development at this point is that the light world itself is a simulation based on our own memories/nostalgia towards undertale. it's not really a realistic world in the sense that a full fledged universe would be. ie: the light world doesn't extend much past hometown's confines. after all, why would the greatest and oldest and mightiest dark fountain... be in a school closet? something isn't adding up here. what does that imply for asriel and college? heheh. heh...

A while back you made some tweets criticising Undertale BnP for going off the rails with scope creep and how it would probably have had problems even if the lead dev hadn't turned out to be a creep, but since you've basically deleted your Twitter (and I've abandoned that shithole as well) I can't read them anymore. Would you like to spill the beans on what went down here for posterity's sake?

Cause I never played it but from watching playthroughs of it I was always kinda confused by how much new stuff was getting added (entire new areas in the Ruins, new bosses, a whole side plot with Undertale's version of Susie) for something I thought was just supposed to be an "Undertale with nicer graphics" mod and I was wondering if you knew how far it was going to go ultimately now the dust has settled around it.

It really came down to the fact that Blaize had no real foresight for any of the new features they came up with for the project. They introduced the EN mechanic, which was basically an Undertale equivalent of TP, and it was going to appear outside of the Suzy side story with zero use outside of giving extra gold. They had the connections system that had no purpose, nor did they really think of a purpose for it. It mostly just ruined the pacing of the scenes it was added to; SPECIFICALLY the Asriel scene at the end of the game.

They would frequently add Deltarune elements to the game, some of which would be removed for being stupid (notably the Spamton thing and the Monster Kid proceed thing). The Suzy side story especially was basically a Deltarune fanwork in disguise. You were going to run into Noel and Birdly (who you previously met in Snowdin and the Ruins respectively), and there was legitimately an area of Hotterland that was going to be called the "Meat Factory". That latter part really made me realize how strange the Deltarune additions were. Also, I was told that Suzy would be willing to kill because she didn't know she was killing them, thinking they were running away. It came from the same mind that thought Deltatraveler Obliteration route was bad because Susie went along with it.

Regarding scope creep, Suzy ended up not being the only side story planned for BnP. They wanted to go back to the other areas and give them their own side areas and side stories with the characters you travel with in those sections (Monster Kid and Papyrus). I was told the idea didn't get very far, but it's still like... Shouldn't you focus on finishing the main parts of the mod, first? Especially when all the other team members want to do that?

I always dog on them for the whole Meat Factory thing because I'm of the belief that not everything that is tangentially related to Gaster needs to be used, and "Meat Factory" is such a terrible name for what is allegedly supposed to be a normal area in the Underground. But yeah, that's the tea from my perspective.
