I've had this idea for another Grey's AU for awhile now, based off Jesse's role in "Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants 2" where he's a nude art model to pay for college. But it's me, so of course I took it one step further.

Mark and Addison got back together after moving to Seattle. He works as a mentor for last year med students at UW Medicine, which is where he meets the promising Jackson Avery-a man with a legacy he's trying to outrun. In time, Mark realizes it's so much more than that. 5 years earlier, when Jackson refused to go to "camp" to change his classification, Harper cut him off. Now, Jackson moonlights as a stripper in an attempt to pay for med school while also barely getting by with no caregivers.

As if Mark and Addison would let that continue...

Will I actually ever do this? Who knows? But I've had the idea for a while.

Grieving over someone who isn’t gone is such a complicated feeling. Especially when they are your best friend. Especially when they want to leave you.

I still can interact with them today. I can see them with my own eyes, hear their voice with my ears, understand their deepest dreams because we just know each other.

But soon, I won’t be able to see them in person, the only way I can hear their voice will be through a phone, and now someone else will learn to understand them better than me. I will slowly be forgotten as someone else becomes their remembered.

And it hurts. But it happens. And I knew it was coming but I didn’t want it to happen so fast. It’s like when you know something is going to bite you but it hasn’t happened yet. You anticipate the pain so it’s like the pain is already there.

They’re still here but they’re already gone. They’re not gone forever just gone for now. You’re still a kid. They’re all grown up and they’re leaving you. It hurts.

Age-regression: Is when someone mentally reverts back to the mindset of a younger age. This can range from a few years younger, to that of an infant. Those who are in the mindset of a child, can not consent to most things they normally could. (Example: Alcohol while regressed.)

Pet-Regression: Is when someone mentally retreats to the mindset of similar to an animal. This allows our wilder sides to be free. Those who are in the mindset of an animal can not consent to most things they normally could. (Example: Alcohol while regressed.)

(Note the difference between Retreats and Reverts. Retreat implies it is a mindset that was not experienced before, but still used. Revert implies that you are going back to an age you once were! :D both are very valid coping mechanisms!!) 

Age-Dreaming: Is when someone acts, and often wants to be treated, as though they are a specific age of their choice. This can be a coping mechanism, or just for fun. But never is it sexual in any way. Those who are Age-Dreaming are still fully or partly in the mindset of their actual Age, and is still 100% valid.

Pet-Dreaming: Is when someone acts, and often wants to be treated, as though they are a specific animal of their choice. This can be a coping mechanism, or just for fun. But never is it sexual in any way. Those who are Pet-Dreaming are still partly or fully in the mindset if their actual species, but is still 100% valid.

Caregiver: Sometimes known as a Caretaker, is someone who is responsible for caring for a regressor and or dreamer. The Regressor/Dreamer that they are caring for may give them a nickname like Papa, Daddy, Mama, Sissy, Bubba, or whatever else makes them happy. (Note: Some chose not to use nicknames, others might use specific names that are a version of their caregivers name, and or a specific nickname that doesn't relate to being parental. There's no right or wrong way to do it! ^^)

Babysitter: A person who isn't the primary Caregiver(s) of a Dreamer/Regressor, but May watch over them for certain periods of time, especially if the Caregiver isn't available.

Flip: Is someone who fluctuates between being a Regressor/Dreamer, or both, and Caregiver/Babysitter.

Agere: An aberration of Age-Regression.

Petre: An aberration of Pet-Regression. 

Agedre: An aberration of Age-Dreaming.

Petdre: An aberration of Pet-Dreaming.

CG: An aberration of Caregiver.

Voluntary regression: Is when someone will purposefully regress into the mindset of an animal/younger age. This can be done for coping, stress relief, fun, etc. And can done by colouring, playing with toys, listening to baby music, or other things that make you feel safe, bring positive emotions out, remind you of your childhood, or the childhood you always wanted. (And hey, some like playing games like destiny, ark, etc! Or like listening to rock, watching shows for older people, it's about what makes YOU feel regressed!)

Involuntary regression: Is when someone will go into the mindset of an animal/younger age. This can be triggered by stress, fear, over or understimulation, or a variety of negative feelings.

Partial-Regression:  Sometimes also uses the term Age-Dreaming. Is when someone is only partially in their headspace. Those who are partially regressed can still not consent to what they normally could, as they may not be fully coherent. 

Full-Regression: Also known as just Regression. Is when someone is fully regressed, and will think and act as the age, or animal, they have regressed to.

Slipping: Somethings also known as regressing, or dropping, is when someone regresses. (Example: "Mary started to slip into the age of a toddler.")

Littles: Are someone who primarily regresses to the age, or around, 8 and under. This may fluctuate.

Middles: Are someone who primarily regresses to the age, or around, 9 and older. This may fluctuate.

Regressors: The general term for someone who regresses/chooses not to label themself!

Dreamers: The general term for someone who dreams.

Littlespace: Sometimes spelled little space or little-space, is the mindset of someone 8 or younger.  (Example: Mary slipped into Littlespace.)

Middlespace: Sometimes spelled middle space or middle-space, is the mindset of someone 9 or older. (Example: Mary slipped into Middlespace.)

Petspace: Sometimes spelled pet space or pet-space, is the mindset of someone who is pet regressed! (Example: Mary slipped into Petspace.)

Headspace: Sometimes spelled head space or head-space, is the general term for Littlespaces, Middlespaces, and Petspaces.

Positive regression: Previously known as Pure regression. Is when regressed, you might feel happy, bubbly. It can involves playing, laughing, and or other things associated with the happier side of regression. (Note: some still chose to use the term Pure Regression, and that's absolutely okay!)

Negative regression: Previously known as Impure regression. Sometimes known as Vent Regression. Is when regressed, you may feel sad, moody, angry. It can involve tantrums, crying, kicking, and or other things associated with the less happy side of regression. (Note: some still chose to use the term Impure Regression, and that's absolutely okay!)

Little gear: Sometimes spelled littlegear or little-gear, is the supplies used while regressed/dreaming, this can include, but not limited to: Pacifiers. Blankies. Bottles. Fidgets. Diapers. And or other things used by Regressors/Dreamers, that fit their age and preferences! (Note: Little gear isn't required to regress! ^^)

Petre gear: Sometimes spelled petregear or petre-gear, is the supplies used while regressed/dreaming, this can include, but not limited to: Chew toys. Teethers. Treats. And or other things used by Regressors/Dreamers, that fit their animal and preferences. (Note: Petre gear isn't required to regress! ^^)

(Often both can be shortened to just Gear if wanted!)

Positive triggers: Are something used to trigger someone into Voluntary regression. (Example: Colouring, Music, Dancing, Etc.)

Negative triggers: Is something that triggers unwanted memories, Involuntary regression, panic attacks, or other things that are unwanted to the regressor.(Example: a Negative trigger caused Mary to have a flashback.)

In the closet: It is when someone who is part of the Agere/Petre community is still secret. Sometimes, they are also known as Discreet Littles! (Generally, "closeted" means you are secretly, or not directly promoting that you are in a certain community. The term is often associated with it's use in the LGBTQIAP+ community!)

Finally, if you know a term that I don't, do not be afraid to share! And remember, not all regressors/dreamers are the same! One may love Pacifiers, the other may strongly dislike them. That's okay! We're all different and unique in our own ways! 

Remember that Agere is beautiful, all sides of it. Sometimes you have to have negative regression to feel better, it's okay! All sides of it are needed, and rather voluntarily or not, it's your brain trying to help you, and cope! It's a completely healthy coping mechanism, as long as you don't let it become your life 24/7. (That goes for all coping mechanisms, becoming obsessive over something is a big factor in it becoming unhealthy!)

Mockingbird Flip

This term is to refer to flips who may be regressed often or always regressed yet still take the role of a caregiver . However , they don’t inherently get into a caregiver headspace , only acting (or rather masking) as one whenever interacting with other regressed littles , therefore mimicking the role of a caregiver while not inherently feeling like one or wanting to feel like one .

This can be for many reasons such as not wanting to be regressed around others , being embarrassed over their own regressed traits , or simply out of instinct / a force of habit . A mockingbird flip may communicate they are regressed or they may not .

Mockingbird Flips may lean toward sibling or babysitter roles rather than parent roles in a dynamic for personal comfort .

This term was made personally for me but can be used by anyone sfw in the agere community ^_^ color meanings under cut

Darker desaturated pink - Masking , the act of masking , but not intending to lie .

Lighter desaturated pink - Regression , being regressed , inspired by both the typical agere and flip flags .

Off-white - The comfort of regression , the safety , even when the person feels interrupted .

Light blue - Family , acting older than you feel , being a caregiver , being a flip .

Dark Brown - Mockingbirds , the darker feathers of mockingbirds

Hi, I like your blog! I was wondering what the term "impure age regression" means, because I've seen it mentioned in one of your posts as well as others in the community. Does it just mean NSFW regression?

Hey! and thanks! I’d be happy to explain the term :)

So in the SFW age regression community, we frequently use the terms ‘pure’ and ‘impure’ to describe our regression. I think it would be easiest to explain both terms, as they are cooperative.

Pure regression is what you’ll see mostly on this site. It’s the stuffed animals, play time, kid’s shows, snacks, moodboards, and general joy. This is what people usually think of when they hear the term ‘Little Space.’ All together, this is the happy stuff.

Impure regression still refers to entering a younger headspace, but not because you are happy, nor is it going to make you feel happy. Impure deals with the darker side of regressing. It often includes tantrums, crying, feeling overwhelmed, depression, flashbacks, and other negative feelings. That joy and happiness isn’t there. Usually, this is where we are processing our trauma.

Both pure and impure regression are very important in their own ways. While it might seem best to avoid the stress and negativity as much as possible, working through trauma is how we are able to move on and overcome it. And, the balance of pure VS impure headspace depends on the person. The way they experience and cope with it will vary as well.

While I can understand why someone might assume ‘impure regression’ to refer to NSFW due to its title, it is in no way sexual. Quite frankly, it’s the opposite, as this is when a regressor is at their most vulnerable—literally being in the headspace of a traumatized child and absolutely cannot consent while in that mindset.

The SFW age regression community is in no way affiliated with any ageplay, kink, etc. Unfortunately, the internet loves to prey on the agere community, which has made it harder to distinguish terms.

Age regression (SFW) and ageplay (NSFW) are completely separate groups and mean very different things. The first being a trauma healing community, and the latter being a BDSM subtype. It is a common misconception, but there is no such thing as NSFW age regression. It is either age regression, which is inherently not sexual; or it is ageplay, which is sexual. I hope none of this is coming across too hard, btw; I don’t want it to seem like an attack or anything. I absolutely understand how the terminology can be confused, I just want to make sure to draw clear lines between the SFW and NSFW in order to keep the community safe.

So ik this is completely out of the blue but yk

I thought I should post this

So I realized something recently

For lack of a better term, I have been slipping into my age regression headspace more often than I'd like.

Which sucks for a multitude of reasons.

For one, I don't really have an official caregiver. Yes, I have people that I know for this, but i'm not very close with any of them.

Two, I have a busy life. I don't really have time to embrace that side of me unless it's at night. Which also sucks because bedtime. And I can't actually call unless it's either night and I mute, or when my parents aren't home.

Three, I'm one of the younger regressors. Which means im more dependant than I'd like. And I'm a very social person in that space.

Which also makes the no caregiver thing worse.

So you may be wondering,

"Vee, why not just ask one of your poly partners to be your caregiver?"

The thing is

I already did

But for this particular thing, it's not very simple.

(For the following, I would like to preface this by saying no offense. Just stating the truth. I mean no harm by this.)

My girlfriend has her own problems to deal with. She isn't good with kids, and she just doesn't want to.

My boyfriend (1) is also not great with kids. Better than my girlfriend, yeah, but he isn't willing either. Mainly because he has his siblings and wants a break from childcare.

And my boyfriend (2) is a bit confused on what to do during this. Although I trust him the most with this, I don't quite feel like he's a good fit for a caregiver. Plus, he isn't confident in his abilities for this either. He doesn't see himself as a good one, so not him either.

So here I am, posting this to find a cg.

Hey! Thank you, and yeah I can very much do that. Apologies if it isn't the best, though. This is my first tickle fic I've written.

Lee!Pomni and Ler!Jax, Thoughts upon Thoughts and a certain Purple Rabbit. 1,306 words. Despite this being a non-agere post, this is still an sfw account. DNI if not child safe!.

Pomni sighed, a mixture of exasperation, hopelessness and sadness going through her at the moment. Five days ago, she had been living her life in the real world, doing this and that, having fun with her friends and family. Five days ago, at around 7:50AM, she found herself in a strange circus. Five days ago she was told that she was unable to leave ever again; that she was trapped here... 𝘧𝘰𝘳𝘦𝘷𝘦𝘳. Now, of course she wasn’t going to just accept this! There had to be a way for her to leave! There just had to be! ... At least, that’s what she told herself.

It’s almost been a full week since she entered the digital circus, and despite her attempts to find a way out, she remained there, surrounded by new people who had been trapped there for far, far longer than she had. They were... Okay. Yeah, they were fine. Ragatha was nice enough, she still felt bad about leaving her behind at first on her first day here. But she seemed to forgive her, so Pomni figured that she should leave it in the past. Kinger was interesting, to say the least. He was definitely a character, his short-term memory messed up. But he was nice, regardless. Even if he could be a little out of it at times; he was nice to talk to.

Zooble was, well, Zooble. They were nice enough, Pomni supposed. They seemed pretty over this circus stuff, which Pomni could relate to. Gangle was kind. She seemed like a sweet girl to Pomni. Though, her emotions were usually stuck to sadness thanks to her tragedy mask, which was almost always the mask residing on her face. Jax made sure of that, always pushing her down or insulting her.

Jax. Ohhh, Jax. Jax was probably the one human in the digital circus which Pomni didn’t really want to be around. To be fair, for her first few days, Pomni didn’t really want to be around anyone, preferring to just stay in her digital room, snuggled up in her digital bed...

The other circus members had grown on Pomni, but not Jax. Jax was mean, from what Pomni could tell. He constantly messed with the people in the circus, from breaking Gangle’s comedy mask to putting centipedes in Ragatha’s room just to mess with her. Pomni couldn’t fathom 𝘸𝘩𝘺 he would do that to the only other humans trapped here. They were all in the same messed up situation, so why not make the best of it? ... She sounds hypocritical now. She’s been focused on escaping, ignoring the group. Yeah, that’s hypocritical.

But can you blame her? Most people would do the same in her shoes, she thought.

It was fine, though. Well, not really. She’s finally come to terms that she is very much not leaving this place... Goodness, how does a place like this even come to 𝘦𝘹𝘪𝘴𝘵? What cruel, cruel person decided “hey, yeah, a digital circus in which humans are trapped in until they lose their marbles is a funky little idea!”. She didn’t even want to think about who would think like that. She was sad enough already, feeling hopeless; defeated.

Pomni continued walking around the big circus area, alone. The others had gone on their daily adventure, made by Caine. Well, not Zooble. Zooble never went on the adventures; Pomni could see why. But Zooble was in their room at the moment, and regardless, Pomni just felt like being alone for a bit.

She was startled out of her thoughts by a voice and a poke to her side; a touch which she did 𝘯𝘰𝘵 squeal at. No siree, not her! “Hey, Newbie!” Ughh... 𝘑𝘢𝘹. 𝘎𝘳𝘦𝘢𝘵. Just who she wanted to see as she walked around, alone. “What is it, Jax?” she asked, exasperated. “Hey, hey! No need to be such a @#$-#!” She grimaced at the wonky censor. “Just trying to see my favorite new jester! Y’know, you seem kinda... Down-in-the-dumps-depressed lately.” He noted.

“Thanks, Jax. Didn’t know.” She replied, rolling her eyes. “𝘚𝘯𝘪𝘱𝘱𝘺 𝘴𝘯𝘪𝘱𝘱𝘺, 𝘫𝘦𝘦𝘻. Chill out, would you? Getting yourself all bent-out-of shape!” He accused with a laugh, poking her side again, another squeal leaving her mouth. “Jax, stop that!” She snapped. She wanted to be 𝘢𝘭𝘰𝘯𝘦, and she was supposed to be for at least a while longer! “Why, kid?” Ohhh, that... That Jax! “Jax! Knock it OooFFF–” The end of her sentence is high pitched, turning into another squeal as he began repeatedly poking at that spot. “JjjAHAHAHX!” She scream-laughed as his pokes turned to him spidering her sides–that’s right, sides, as in plural. Both of his hands now spidered along her sides–for reasons unknown to her. Was this another prank!? The first prank he pulled on her!? “KNOHOHOCK IHT OFFFHAHAH–!” “Hmmm... I don’t know, Pomni. You seem a lot happier now, and I’m enjoying this! Hmmm... What to do, what to do?” He pretended to think, not letting up with his relentless tickling. “JAHAX!”

“Hmm... Oh, yeah! I got a great idea, Newbie!” He teased, and despite the tickling letting up, Pomni knew better than to believe it was over. And she was right to act that way, as almost immediately his hands were skittering across the back of her neck. She squealed, throwing her head back and putting her shoulders up in an attempt to get the tickling sensations to leave. It was a failed attempt.

“Woah there, Pomni! Looking unsteady there, aren’t we? Don’t fall! Wouldn’t want an accident, now would we?” He spoke, that cheshire grin visible on his face. His hands drifted down to her exposed armpits, taking advantage of the fact that her arms were up, trying to get his hands away from her neck. His hands started their assault once more, forcing laughs and squeals out of the poor jester, who now had tears threatening to fall due to it all. As he continued to tickle her, he helped her lie down, giving him far more access (and making it to where she wouldn’t accidentally fall from the tickling). His hands spidered along her clothed ribs, side and tummy, loud laughs from the jester like music to Jax’ ears.

She wiggled and squirmed, head thrown back with tears of laughter in her eyes. “JJAHAHHAX–AAHHHHAHH!” Coherent sentences no longer formed for her, thanks to Jax’ actions. Coherent thoughts didn’t form, either. So Jax’ plan, which Pomni was unaware of, had been successful.

He finally gave her mercy as she started claiming that it was too much. His hands left her sides and he crossed his arms. For a moment Pomni just laid there, still letting out weak giggles. Her giggles stopped soon enough, and with a sigh, she wiped her tears of laughter away from her eyes.

“Feeling any better, Newbie?” Jax asked. “Hhahhhuh?” She answered, questioning. “You’ve been kinda... Down-in-the-dumps, as I said before, lately. All depressed.” He replied.

“Ohh.. Yeahhh, I–... Yeah. Um, the whole new... Trapped-in-a-digital-circus thing hasn’t been the best for me.” She admitted. “So? Are you feeling any better at all? Or do we need to go again?” Jax threatened, wiggling his fingers in the air. A giggle left Pomni, and she subconsciously squirmed a bit. “Haha, nooo... I’m good. ... Yeah, that... Did help. Q lot, actually. Why did you...?” “Well, I had to make sure the new kid didn’t abstract already.” Jax explained, a grin on his face. “Mmm... Okay. Thanks, Jax.”

“Yeah, no problem, Newbie.” He said, and as Pomni sat up, she thought to herself that maybe, just maybe, this entire circus thing wouldn’t be too bad.

A Beginner's Guide to Age Regression Terms!

age regression - when someone mentally regresses to an age younger than their biological age, usually to the age of a baby, toddler, or child. this is often done as a coping mechanism but may also be for fun! it can be voluntary or involuntary.

agere - an abreviation for age regression!

caregiver - someone who takes care of a regressor.

cg - an abreviation for caregiver!

pet regression - when someone mentally regresses to the mindset of an animal.

petre - an abreviation for pet regression!

age dreaming - when someone voluntarily acts as a child for the same reasons that one may regress. age dreaming is voluntary and is an active choice, rather than a mental shift!

agedre - an abreviation for age dreaming!

flip - someone who is both a regressor and a caregiver.

middle regression - when someone regresses to a slightly older age than the usual baby to kid ages, primarily teens.

Other Terms

babycore, toddlercore, kidcore, etc. - these are aesthetic tags with a focus on nostalgia, comfort, and childish themes. though these are not directly connected to the agere community, there is a lot of overlap.

moodboard/stimboard - these are collections of images (moodboards) or gifs (stimboards) that usually are made with a specific theme in mind. these are also not exclusive to the agere community, but are very common.

Terms to Avoid

Age Play, CGL, DDLG, MDLB, and other variations- even if tagged as "sfw" or "nonsexual", these are kink terms and should not be cross tagged.

little - this term was taken from the plural community and used in age play spaces, before later being adopted by the agere community. (note: this is specifically in regards to the term being used as a title, ie. calling yourself a "little".)
