Am I back on my KimChay bullshit?
So like...the big sads have been real big, and so I truly haven't been doing anything in terms of writing, especially for my longform KimChay fic...but I'm still thinking about them, and I have a thought that I seriously doubt is original, and I'm very certain I've read at least a couple of fics with this included, and that is Virgin Kim.
Tumblr media
^This Kim-100% a virgin for sure.
Leaving aside that virginity is a construct, it's not something I ever really thought a whole lot about when writing my fic. I honestly tend more towards an assumption that no one in KinnPorsche is a virgin except perhaps Tankhun...because of the whole Ace thing. (The Ace thing being some general fanon agreement that Tankhun is Ace, or at the very least somewhere within the asexual/aromantic spectrum.) So for myself, you could categorize that I present Chay as a virgin given that prior to his first time having sex with Kim he hadn't had penetrative sex with a partner of any gender. But even i don't have a hard line about that as a concept within the fic. I just felt like if you are going to be having sex with someone (especially penetrative sex) that's a conversation that needs to be had. So I had to basically decide Yes or No and I chose No. He hadn't done that particular act with another person, but he had engaged in other sexual acts and even fooled around on his own.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
But to get to my actual point. There's a pretty clear idea of how the other TPK's whose sex lives that we have knowledge of, engage with the general idea of sex, and the act of sex. Both Kinn and Vegas engage in sex from a perspective of exerting control.
Tumblr media
With Vegas this is pretty obvious in that he's very clearly portrayed as a Dominant. And even in (I'm gonna use the word relationship, but I mean that SOOO loosely) relationships beyond Pete where it's not an established and understood dynamic necessarily, he's always in control and he's often using sex as a way to manipulate or exert control over partners beyond the bedroom. We also know that he intentionally seeks out former sexual partners of Kinn specifically with the intent to fuck them as a way of kind of poking at Kinn. That's a not unrelated reason for his rather lackadaisical pursuit of Porsche.
Tumblr media
Kinn is more subtle (just in general) than Vegas, but his relationship with sex does feel very directly related to control as well. Now I'm making some logical leaps, based on the information we're given in the series, my very poor memory of speed reading a moderately okay translation of the novel, and just a general understanding of the "standards" often seen in Thai BL especially around the time of KinnPorsche's release, but Kinn only tops. We see through the series some vague questioning of his ability to lead, and while his sexuality isn't brought up as a a reason why, there's kind of these things left unsaid. By being openly gay within the series, it doesn't seem to be something kept secret in any way, he's kind of starting out at a disadvantage, because realistically the people he's having to make deals with are gonna be homophobic. Social groups where the concept of masculinity is such an important part of a man's identity but also a framework that is pretty fucking narrow creates a space where homophobia will run pretty rampant. So it's 'okay' that Kinn has sex with men, but more specifically it's 'okay' because he's the one doing the fucking and not getting fucked. So in order to maintain this appearance of masculinity, he can't (and doesn't) bottom.
Tumblr media
I don't think this is something that is set in stone, especially post series canon, and I've discussed oddly at length the position preferences of multiple BL characters (you can read that here I guess). But to summarize specifically Kinn and Vegas's preferences- Vegas always tops, even post series, and I'd hazard to say that prior to the story start would only choose to bottom in VERY specific circumstances. Kinn, as stated before has only topped within series canon and prior to it, but in post canon I believe that he would not solely top. I believe that as he becomes more comfortable and secure in his relationship with Porsche, they would eventually get to a point of not holding to that dynamic stringently. And this is both because of the level of trust they've built with each other, which you can see in the sort of playfulness that is present int heir sex lives after their kidnapping. But also (I think) because of the recognition that Kinn would have that he is the only man Porsche had ever been with and he should be able to have the full breadth of possible experiences when it comes to sex with men, they both should. From there, their more long-term preferences would develop once they have full understanding of all sides...you know?
Tumblr media
Vegas, as a more 'traditional' Dom (realistically Kinn is Dominant in the way that many Tops in Thai BL are, in that it's almost more happenstance than intentional and it very rarely bleeds into the overall story) has a much deeper relationship between his desire for control and his preference for topping, because that control does bleed into all aspects of his relationship with Pete (and Tawan), not just their sex life.
Tumblr media
And looking further you can pretty easily establish why they develop the preferences they have. They both want power because in the long run power means choices. And they both want control, not just over the TPK Family Business, but their own lives. By virtue of their birth and who their fathers are, neither Kinn nor Vegas have much control over their own lives. Outside of what they wear and who they sleep with, that's pretty much it a lot of the time. The expectations of how they should act, the acts they have to do in their roles as heir, filled with violence, blood, dishonesty. Every word from their fathers, the people they should be able to trust the most, full of hidden agendas, secret plans. This constant pressure of not even knowing if the choices you're making are your own, or are you being led into them like some obedient lamb? And perhaps if they truly trusted their fathers that idea of being led into certain 'choices' wouldn't be so bad, but they don't (and they shouldn't). So in one the few aspect of their lives in which every decision truly is theirs (who they sleep with and how)....they can't give up that control. Because this is almost the singular space in which they feel in control. They also can't be vulnerable in the way you would have to be, because they've been taught this ugly lesson that being vulnerable opens you up for people to use you, to hurt you, to plot against you.
Tumblr media
And with that understanding of truly how little control any of this particular generations of TPK men has, where does that leave us for the rest. Tankhun, as discussed exerts his control by being out of control. Not a single person in the fandom truly believes that Tankhun is all the way cracked. Whether you think it comes and goes, or you think that he's kinda playing it up at this point in order to keep himself out of the Family Business, I don't know a single fan who thinks he's all the way gone.
Tumblr media
But for Kim, who has removed himself both physically and emotionally from the family to try and take control, who has also been raised in these houses full of lies, where you can't really ever know who you can trust, where does that put him? For me, I think it's feasible that it puts Kim in a space where he doesn't ever open up to anyone in a way that becomes a physical sexual relationship. Even as a college student, moneyed, and living on his own, I don't think he's bringing "study dates" home. As a budding idol building a fanbase with an incredibly handsome face that could pull him a tail of myriad genders...I don't think he's going for it. His priorities as we've seen them are pretty limited, mostly based around his music career, and protecting his siblings, and little else. And I do think a lot of this is related to his age, we don't really have hard numbers in the book or the series, but general idea is he leaves the Main Family house around 16. Now he could have already have been having sex, but these control and trust issues would have already existed prior to the move out. Plus the general average age of loss of virginity is around 18-20 pretty much across the board, and it's potential that he wouldn't have had the desire or opportunity prior to the move out. (This whole discussion does hinge on him wanting to have sex, I'll touch on AroAceKim later.)
Tumblr media
And post moveout, he's now got all of your standard adult responsibilities and expectations while still being a kid. Adultified-ness of all of the KinnPorsche characters of that generation aside, that's a lot to handle mentally. And we've seen other characters handle it through sex, Kinn and Porsche specifically, but is that truly an option for Kim? Kinn can take whoever he wants to the Main Family house and not truly be worried about what they might see or hear, because they're either pre-screened, or a part of that social circle. But Kim's option is his only private space and the first space he's occupied that's really his, and he doesn't have (can also be read as refuses to use) resources that would prescreen potential sex partners, and also doesn't want anything to do with people who exist in that social circle, because he's trying to distance himself from it. Porsche can bang chicks in the back alley behind Hum Bar whenever he wants, but if Kim does want to actively pursue his music career, that's not really an option for him, because of the expectation of a moral standard from musicians/idols in Thailand.
Tumblr media
So it's entirely reasonable to think that prior to the series and his relationship with Chay that he wouldn't have been sexually experienced. I do think the novel operates under an assumption of previous sexual experience, but not in any truly thought out or character driven way in my opinion. And the novel very directly presents the Kim Chay love story as one of first love for BOTH sides. Yes, it's very much in a doomed romance Romeo and Juliet way, but it's very clearly meant to show that both of them are experiencing this for the first time. (See previous ramble about this here.) And without the sort of naive confidence that love gives you to do something 'stupid' would Kim have ever really have taken the chance by having a sexual relationship with anyone else. Signs point to No.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
And the portrayal of Kim by Jeff within the series supports this to me. In interactions with practically every character except Chay he's very detached, very serious, even his small quips with Tankhun feel distant. And in the beginning, he's distant from Chay, but Chay's warmth kind of breaks though, specifically in a way that he finds both surprising and terrifying. The moment of recognition he has in episode 5 that Chay kinda just is who he is, there's no subterfuge, almost leaves him at a loss for words. I know we joke about how the series presents Kim to be this ridiculously inept detective, but I really do feel like that's more a result from him dealing with someone who has no plan or interest in lying to him...something he's basically never encountered before. And Chay's casual honesty and openness pretty quickly disarms Kim completely, and then we're seeing him have that "Oh...OH" moment where he first really knows that his feelings for Chay are both real and real serious. So realistically, within the narrative that we've been presented, Chay is the first person Kim has loved romantically, and we see him be there first person that Kim takes risks for, that he truly reenters the mafia world for, breaking promises he'd made to himself in order to keep Chay safe. And he's the first person we really see Kim be unselfish for. None of us as viewers really blame him for 'being selfish' in regards to leaving the Family Business to pursue music, though other members of the Family (*cough* Korn *cough*) do see his choices that way. And his choice to kind of let Chay hate him is an attempt to be unselfish, to put this person he values more than himself first with the hope that this will mean he'll be safe. {It's a stupid decision, but it does come from a good place, and also I think he thought Porsche would take Chay and run after the kidnapping.}
Tumblr media
So all of this to say...I think narratively it would make sense for Kim to be a virgin at the time of the events of the series. Because while theoretically he would have had ample time and opportunity to have sex with whoever he pleased, he's a fucked up little guy. One who struggles to trust and be open with anyone, and while sex doesn't inherently require trust, I think especially as a teen when this freedom first came to him, it would have. Because he's been smacked by the hand that feeds him a lot.
Tumblr media
My notes about Kim's slow recognition of his feelings for Chay and their depth also explains why many fans see Kim existing somewhere within the AroAce spectrum, as he does seem very caught off guard by the whole concept of love especially. Because it is easy to understand why he may not trust love as a concept, while still knowing that he does love his brothers and I think wants to love his father. But romantic love seems practically made up and you have to figure the only example of that he'd ever have seen in real life might have been Kinn's relationship with Tawan, which ended in betrayal.
Tumblr media
I actually think it's more reasonable to assume Chay is sexually experienced. Because I think that sex would have been discussed pretty matter-of-factly in their home, making it something that wasn't necessarily precious, but also wasn't something to play around with willy-nilly. I don't think that Porsche would have ever really discouraged Chay from having sex, but would have rather bluntly instructed him on how to do it safely, because risks of pregnancy or an STI are simply not risks they can take. And so at 17 or 18, whether before he met Kim, or during their break-up era, I think it's not outside of the realm of possibility that Chay would have experimented sexually, especially considering that he did have fairly poor supervision for a teenager. (I don't blame Porsche, he was doing his best.) Really the only thing that makes me hesitant on being 100% sure on the sex thing before he meets Kim is that we do know that Kim is the first person he's ever confessed to. And while feelings aren't required for sex, Chay is a rather romantic soul and so I think would want to have feelings involved if he was having sex. This does go a bit out the window during break-up era because while I don't see him making a direct choice to have sex with someone as a sort of revenge against Kim, I can see him following the "the best way to get over someone is to get under someone else" mantra in an emotional way. Try to pursue something with someone new with this idea that if he can just push past all this and really put his feeling for Kim behind him in this sort of 'first heartbreak' memory bank he'll just never have to think about it or deal with it again.
Well that was 2.6k words that I probably could have summed up in under 100 but....it is what it is. I hope you enjoyed.

One of the many things about Kim that sticks out to me in the show is the fact that he's not actually introduced to the audience as the love interest for Chay right away. Like, it wasn't a full introduction like how we see with Kinn or Vegas, where we were able to see their faces and some semblance of their personalities off the bat, yknow?
Nah, Kim was introduced in parts: first as a random name drop Pete says in passing when he's explaining who the three brothers are, then as a silhouette, then as WIK, then the reveal that WIK and Kim are the same person.
The audience is introduced to him in "proper" order; we get an idea of how most people probably see him (somewhat as an afterthought, but considered Not As Normal as Kinn, haha), all the way to how his own family treats him: Korn acts fatherly enough, but is suspicious of him. Tankhun is at ease with him and wants him to move back home, and Kinn sometimes forget he has a younger brother because of his absence.
I've mentioned before in a previous rant that it's actually much easier for the audience to see how Kim fell in love with Chay, rather than the other way around, but now I can't help but also ask myself:
I wonder why it is that BOC decided to show more of Kim regarding who he truly is (at the very least, as a member of the mafia) to the audience, rather than to his love interest?
Why did Chay get to see more of WIK, but the audience saw more of Kim? One would think it should perhaps be the other way around, right? Is the audience supposed to see Chay as some sort of vessel to self-insert themselves into?? Lol
And before I go any further, I’m not saying that what Chay saw of Kim was entirely false. Not at all. It’s not as if Kim wasn’t genuine when he was with Chay; at least when it came to his enjoyment of spending time with Chay, for the most part, he probably was—if the Polaroids were anything to go by.
And yet, we barely see them together during the Polaroids Era, as I call it. What Chay sees of Kim during their time together is purposefully kept elusive, from both Porsche and the audience.
And when Chay confronted him in front of his apartment, what we see of Kim isn’t entirely correct from either the audience’s perspective, or Chay’s. We know Kim has felt some measure of guilt in keeping the truth from Chay, we see it multiple times in the show.
And yet, despite that confrontation, Kim still keeps the facade on—he doesn’t admit his guilt, but rather creates the narrative that he never cared at all. For the audience, this shouldn’t come as too much of a shock, as we know Kim is capable of lying on the spur of the moment.
But Chay isn’t aware of that, not until Tankhun unintentionally gives Kim's deception away, in any case.
Getting back to the original question, however: why is Kim shown more of who he truly is to the audience, more so than to Chay? Why is Chay's perception of who Kim is (at least 3/4 of the way into the story) so different from the audience's own?
And I would answer that as: the audience knows more of who Kim is, in order to demonstrate how he stands on equal footing with Kinn and Vegas.
When you compare Kim to Kinn and Vegas, it's not obvious right away as to what makes Kim dangerous. Kinn is dangerous, because of his distrust of most people around him and all that that entails, as well as his position within the mafia itself as the heir; we see this throughout the majority of the first half of the show through Porsche's eyes. Vegas is dangerous, because of his capriciousness, his willingness to do anything to further the agenda of his father, his own, and the Minor family.
But what about Kim?
Kim is dangerous, because of his natural ease with committing deception—but more than that, the extent to which he can keep the lies going, how difficult it can be to understand his intentions because of that. That is what makes him stand on an even pedestal along with Kinn and Vegas. Not only is Kim introduced to the audience and to Chay in parts, even what he's capable of is also shown in bits and pieces; it's no accident that Kim's fighting ability and preferences for combat isn't shown until literally the last episode.
And even when he wasn't necessarily trying to hide from Chay, it's astounding that even the simple act of him walking away as soon as he was done killing off the goons in the bar, is yet another lie he imposes on Chay. How is that a lie, one might ask?
In the end, Chay is not aware of who killed those goons and who protected him.
See what I mean? XD Kim is a natural liar, even all the way to the end! LOL Sure, we can argue that Chay would have probably figured it out on his own down the line, but at the end of the day, that's not what's shown in the aftermath of that fight.
While I would argue that Kim is no strategist, he is a good liar, if nothing else. In fact, I would even go so far as to say that Kim is the epitome of a wolf in sheep's clothing in KPTS, and I will stand on that hill 'til my dying breath!
I used to think I would have loved to have seen more of the Polaroid era in the hopes of having gotten more Kimchay scenes, but now—I've changed my mind~ I'm actually quite satisfied that they didn't show us! I'm happy they didn't—because it allows for Kim's character and the audience's impression of him within the world of the mafia—to stand stronger, to really drive home the fact that he's not one to be underestimated, that no matter his gentleness to Chay, his love for Chay, Kim is a product of his environment—of the mafia.
And what perfect way to show that, other than by showing the audience more of the truth, rather than what Chay knows in the show.

Proposed:
Vegas and Porsche spend a whole bunch of time plotting to kill Korn, only for Macau and Chay to get there first.
Some intense questioning and emotional manipulation by his Hia finally get out of Macau that he lied when he initially told everyone that he stumbled into Korn and accidentally knocked him down the stairs when Korn grabbed his wrist during an argument, but he wanted to protect Chay. He says that the two of them didn't think people would believe Korn fell accidentally when Chay tried to push him away from Macau, after Korn grabbed Macau's wrist during an argument.
Some emotional manipulation by Porsche does not get anything out of Chay, who just looks at Porsche with big wet eyes from under his bangs and doesn't uncurl from the corner of the couch in Tankhun's rooms.
Some intense questioning by Kim does not get anything more than a "fuck off" out of Chay when Kim 1) calls bullshit on Macau's confession to Vegas and 2) accuses Chay of now taking the rap for Macau because they all know that no one would ever believe it was an accident when the displaced second son of the minor family pushed Korn Theerapanyakul down the stairs during an argument.
(Kim is not ... entirely correct. He's not entirely wrong, either, for all the good it does him.)
Kinn gets nothing out of anyone, because neither of these kids trusts him as far as they could spit. If Kinn was the least bit trustworthy, Vegas would be head of the minor family and Porsche would not - this is something both Macau and Chay have been in agreement on for a long time.
Tankhun takes one look at both of them in tears, Macau practically hyperventilating, just after they're pulled away from Korn's body in the stairwell - these two boys who previously have always been protected in one way or another from the dirty work of this family - and he KNOWS there was nothing accidental about it. He's just not sure who actually did the pushing, so he keeps his mouth shut because he doesn't really care about Vegas's brother, but no one is going to do anything to his baby chick Chay if he has anything to say - or not say - about it. (Pa shouldn't have given him a kid, if he didn't want something more important than Pa in Tankhun's life.)
Tankhun's right about one thing - it wasn't an accident.
Macau never - ever - admits to anyone that they did it together, 1-2-3-go, when Korn made the mistake of turning his back to them while he was at the top of the stairs to Nampheung's garret. Occasionally, Macau will catch Pete looking at him speculatively, head tilted just a bit, and Macau just stares back with the blandest look he can manage until Pete shakes his head and looks away. (These are, in fact, the only times Macau can manage to win a staredown against P'Pete. He doesn't realize how suspicious that is, in and of itself.)
(Macau never, ever, wants Vegas to know that their family - who Vegas tried so hard to protect him from - stained him enough that he could commit murder, even if it was in order to protect his Hia.)
Chay tells Porsche three years later during an argument right before Chay packs his things and moves out of the main family compound for the last time. He doesn't tell Porsche that Macau was the one to first send a significant look Chay's way when Korn dismissively turned his back on them at the top of the stairs. He does tell Porsche that he's the one who gave the final go-ahead nod to Macau.
(Chay absolutely wants Porsche to know that the Theerapanyakul family - who Porsche exposed him to - stained him enough that he could commit murder in order to protect his Hia.)

the theerapanyakuls go to barbenheimer
kinn: the oppenheimer message flies straight over his head. the barbie message, unfortunately, is also totally lost on him.
porsche: in the same boat as kinn, mostly because kinn pulls him aside ten minutes into both films so they can make out and [redacted] and also [redacted redacted redacted].
tankhun: forces everyone at gunpoint (literal) to come to barbenheimer. forces everyone at gunpoint to wear themed outfits. screeches and hollers during the whole barbie movie, and immediately places custom orders for all of barbies's outfits and half of ken's outfits. (none of the outfits from the kendom era, though. bleh.) ends up feeling very thoughtful about oppenheimer -- and makes sure nobody notices.
kim: wants to perish. khun had to handcuff him to the theater seat. at least kim managed to stop khun from stuffing him into a bespoke neon pink leather jacket.
chay: is having a great time! very much enjoyed dressing up with khun for the Event Of The Century. is currently very much enjoying watching kim suffer. cheered at all the right moments during barbie. (oddly quiet during oppenheimer.)
pete: kind of tilted about having to dress up, but finds himself genuinely enjoying both movies. empathizes with every character on screen, which is not what khun wanted him to do.
vegas: identifies way too much with oppenheimer in perhaps the worst possible way. barbie puzzles him on a molecular level.
macau: spends the entire time "subtly" (not subtly) filming both movies on his phone. his camerawork is absolute garbage. his thumb is in the frame the whole time. his flash accidentally goes off halfway through. he immediately uploads both bootlegs to utorrent.
pol: the barbie movie was made for pol. he is THE target audience. it changes the trajectory of his entire life.
arm: absently pats a teary-eyed pol on the back throughout the entire barbie movie. is a little too consumed by thoughts of how relatable some of the oppenheimer scientists are.
and last but not least, big and ken: are standing at the back of the theater. they weren't allowed to sit. ken has been stuffed into the "i am kenough" tie-dye sweatshirt and maintains his i've-stepped-in-dogshit face throughout the entire barbie movie. "i don't sound like that," he keeps hissing at big. big is too busy sobbing under his sunglasses to humor him.

Watching Kinnporsche for the first time pt. 4 (final part)
Episode 12:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I've said it many times before and I'll say it many times again but they are so beloved to me <3
Sidenote; we just moved on form Big's death like that? Kinn burying his feelings I get because he has to, but everyone else is completely unaffected? I wish this show remembered characters' emotional attachments more. He was like the main bodyguard everyone knew and trusted
Pete talking back to Vegas and calling him an idiot...truly NO fear
*flirting* what's your blood type Vegas? wow AB is the coolest blood type😍 Can't believe they're essentially doing personality quizzes together
*Vegas getting mad after Pete reads him like a book* But babe, you LOVE getting psychoanalyzed!
"people who are in love would never lie to each other" Porsche is once again correct. Ditch his ass god I truly don't care about Kinn. "I was just following Papa's orders". Again. I don't care you're still an asshole they could never get me to like you
Ok imagine you're Kinn's dad. Your friend kills parents of two boys in a car crash, so you cover it up for him. And because you apparently feel bad for the sons you...force one of them to work for you? How is that doing them any favors? 🖕🖕🖕Tankhun officially the only member of the main family I like (I like Kim too but for now I have beef because he hurt my beloved Porchay. On thin fucking ice until he apologizes)
NOOOO VEGAS' HEDGEHOG IS SICK
Pete deciding not to escape because he sees Vegas sad about his hedgehog...shut the fuck up. I actually love him so much. And now they're having a little funeral for the hedgehog this is incredible
Vegas "abandonment and daddy issues" Theerapanyakul
Tumblr media
Oh he's CRAZY crazy. Pete I want to study you under a microscope too actually
Not to be annoying but this is just like the avatar episode where Katara wants to kill the guy that killed her mother but it's Porsche instead
Porchay pulling the classic heartbroken move of dying his hair oh my sweetie :,)
Tumblr media
Oh and he looks lovely with this new hair!
DECK HIS ASS KIM!! You are still on thin ice for hurting Porchay though
THE FUCKASS UNCLE IS BACK EUGH
Please don't make Kinn and Porsche related oh please
Episode 13:
Tumblr media
This is the very first scene in the episode alright let's go
Cutesy Vegas cooking montage this is what I live for. Look how happy and proud he looked of the food he made! And then his asshole father came and ruined everything!
The mothers in this show are so mysterious. Kinn mentions that he's more like his mother in the first episode, Vegas' dad tells him he's just as stupid as his mother...They get mentioned but I want to know more about them
"And you think I wanted to be your son?" TELL HIM VEGAS
Of course Tankhun is the first to actually care that Pete is gone and something is up!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
That's what I'm saying! Kinn just couldn't be bothered to care enough
Once again. Bible and Build are INCREDIBLE in these roles. Pouring their entire souls into Vegas and Pete
Tumblr media
Incredible scene. The tension, the conflicted feelings, the fear and desperation, god I was feeling it all
"You're being dramatic Tankhun Pete is probably just fine" Kinn you are getting on my very last nerve
I'm so curious about how Pete's character is going to play out. Because loyalty has been his whole thing! Besides maybe Big, he's the most trusted bodyguard in the entire family and took it very seriously. But where are his loyalties now? He fears Vegas for sure, but I don't know if he would be able to properly hurt him
Love love love seeing Porsche be protective of Pete
So does this make Kinn and Porsche cousins...
Episode 14 (finale):
Ok Porsche's mom was Korn's foster sister..that doesn't make it any less weird to me
Korn dying did nothing but my heart goes out to Tankhun
"I'm not on the main family's side. I'm not on the minor family's side. But I'm on your side" Our poet Porsche let's go
Once again, the opening song is so good and works perfectly paired with the final fight scene
Tankhun's little robot that set off the bomb is so comical lmao
Porchay staying with Yok is the sweetest thing to me
Question for anyone who knows: Did they have stunt doubles or did the actors do all the stunts by themselves?
Porchay share the brand of headphones you're wearing because DAMN that noise cancellation must be good
The whole Nampheung plot is getting SO convoluted
"If I die today, could it be you who kills me?" Vegas let me introduce you to my good friend Wei Wuxian
Ok and the plot thickens Korn is alive lol. And so is Nampheung? I probably should have predicted this but also I really don't care about their drama if I'm being honest
"I did everything to protect you" Korn shut the HELL up. Taking in Porsche, Porchay, Vegas, and Macau doesn't absolve you
"I can't betray my own feelings anymore. I resign" Big moves from Pete let's gooo
Oh so you're going to split up your most compelling couple and kill off your most interesting character? (Bitter as hell about it)
Not into Porsche being the head of the minor family. I think it would be far more compelling and fitting for his character for him to break the cycle and exist this business. "It's not that easy" this show doesn't give a shit about realism
Does this make Kim and Porchay cousins too? NOOOO
I'm learning that I'm maybe fooled too easily and am too confident in characters dying. Ok Vegas is NOT dead let's go!
MACAU IS RIGHT THERE
Aw and he adores Pete right away
Tumblr media
:)
Anyways this was an insane experience and I will probably write up my more comprehensive final thoughts later

Kimhan Theerapanyakul is, by far, the worst of the young heirs. This is a fact universally, quietly, agreed upon by all of the bodyguards.
Tankhun is… odd. Eccentric. His moods are unpredictable and his punishments unorthodox. He’s vindictive but never truly cruel. Not the way Vegas is, some will whisper, trading horror stories about what they imagine may go on in the Minor family compound. Tankhun is also a safe assignment; he never leaves the tower, meaning whatever guards are on his rotation have a relatively cushy life, as long as they can put up with him. Most of them can’t, and ask to be reassigned within two weeks. You don’t become a bodyguard for the mafia because you want to be safe.
Kinn, despite being the middle brother, is the true heir, the one being groomed to lead the family. He is serious but kind, firm but fair. It is an honor and a privilege to be placed on his detail. An honor that Big worked very long and very hard for, sacrificing his life and his body to earn the right to stand at Kinn’s side always.
And then Tawan came into the picture.
A conniving, jealous little creature, who had Kinn wrapped so tight around his finger, it’s a wonder he could even breathe. Big, loyal guard that he was, tried his best to protect Kinn from himself. He overstepped. He urged caution in this fledgling relationship. Of course, Kinn was young and in love, and Tawan could do no wrong, right up until he was caught selling information to a rival gang.
Big was the one to reveal Tawan’s schemes. He wishes, deep down, that he had been the one to kill him, too. That he could have spared Kinn that pain.
Big is dismissed from duty after it’s over. Reassigned. He has been with the family for years at this point, worked his way up as a personal guard to the heirs; he expects he will be reassigned to Tankhun. Instead, he receives orders to report to Khun Kim, who’s recently moved out of the tower and into an apartment across town.
It’s best if Khun Kinn doesn’t see you right now, Chan had told him. That hurt worse than the dismissal. Big was only doing his job, looking out for his boss—his charge, his responsibility—and here he is, punished for it. Thrown away. Banished from Kinn’s presence entirely. It aches. But Big only nodded and bowed, and accepted his orders, because he is a good and loyal guard, and he will do as he is told.
Despite Big’s years with the family, he has had little contact with the youngest son. The next six months show him exactly why his coworkers call him the worst assignment.

What if there was KinnPorsche but with new cast?
Don't freak out. This is just me and my beloved friend Dante (@tbhimnoteasyonmyself) creating a fan cast of KinnPorsche. We were talking about the tragedy that 2Moons: The Ambassador ended up being and Dante said: "Imagine if they tried to make KPTS s2 but with no one..." and our brains rolled. I wasn't sure if I really wanted to post it, but whatever, here it goes. What were the criteria? We picked from Thai actors. We always looked for someone who would at least partially looked the part, is good enough to own the role and is or passes the correct age. We based it both on the drama but also the novel. ❗️Disclaimer❗️ These are purely our own preferences and opinions and you are fully entitled to your own and disagree with us. It was done for fun and we never meant to disrespect the original cast. They were incredible and we respect and love them. And this all is just a hypothetical scenario and if there was another KPTS content, of course we would always prefer the original cast (apart from a certain person). So let's go!
❗️❗️❗️STARTING HERE, THERE WILL BE SPOILERS FOR KINNPORSCHE THE SERIES. PROCEED ONLY IF YOU HAVE SEEN THE SERIES OR IF YOU DON'T MIND GETTING IMPORTANT PLOT PARTS SPOILED❗️❗️❗️
KINN The main duo was the hardest to find. We threw around many names. Understandably, it's very hard to find anyone who would match Mile. In this case we decided to go more with novel version of Kinn and decided on Joong Archen
Tumblr media
You might think he's too young, but as I said we settled on novel version of Kinn (and Porsche) and there Kinn is 20/21, so even younger than Joong is. He has the eyebrows (very important) and mainly he has the vibe and skill to portray the middle son of the mafia family with strong aura a cold vibes. We can clearly see the skill in The Heart Killers. PORSCHE With that we are moving to Kinn's main bodyguard and later boyfriend Porsche. We were wondering if we should switch pairings, but figured out that what works doesn't need to be changed. So for Porsche, we went with
Dunk Natachai
Tumblr media
When this option first came out, I was a bit worried that Dunk would struggle with Porsche. But after seeing him in The Heart Killers (combined with his work in The Star in My Mind), I believe he would be able to potray the silly playful Porsche, but at the same time handle the serious moments. Again, he might seem young, but reminder that Porsche is 20 in the novel.
Since this will be longer, if you want to see the rest, open the post bellow.
TANKHUN/KHUN
This one came up right away. First choice was the final one. Without a doubt, we picked
Nut Supanut
Tumblr media
This literaly screams Khun. Nut is fully capable for coming and serving cunt, be silly and looking like he has lost his mind. Nut is quite older than Khun is supposed to be in the novel, but honestly, he looks younger and it actually doesn't mind, because Joong still can manage to look older/more mature which is the main point. (In the novel it's specifically said that people mix up Khun and Kinn, thinking that Kinn is the oldest sibling). I don't think anyone else could pull this role like Nut would.
KIM
The youngest brother of the main family. Our pick might feel controversial, but aging both Kim and Chay up felt as the best choice in order to be able to explore their relationship more. Even though it might not be the main choice for everyone, we picked Boun Noppanut
Tumblr media
Yes, he is older than both Joong and Nut, but he can pass as younger than Joong (or at least around Joong's age) and in Nut's case it doesn't really matter because just like Kinn, Kim is supposed to appear older and more mature than Khun. He's an actor who can look both mysterious and kind. He definitely can portray both Kim and Wik. We know his range in impressive, because of how well he did in Between Us.
PORCHAY/CHAY
Talking about Chay, we decided to go easy with this one and give this one to
Prem Warut
Tumblr media
Again, we are working with aged up version of Chay. And honestly, Prem has severe case of baby face, so him being older doesn't matter at all. I think Team and Chay are similar in many things and I guess that's why I can imagine him in the role. Prem is fully capable of delivering a cute innocent boy, just like the more emotional scenes.
VEGAS
Moving on the minor clan. The older son. Guy with a huge trauma, who deals with his issues in his own sick ways. Our pick ended up being
War Wanarat
Tumblr media
Honestly, give this man a role and he will devour it. His range is incredible. If someone can pull the difficult persona that Vegas is, it's War. Again, he's a bit older (Vegas is younger than Khun), but I don't think it matters, since War looks way younger than he actually is. And you would only hardly find another actor fully capable of capturing every aspect of Vegas. PETE
Khun's head bodyguard and the only person who ever understood Vegas. It's more than obvious that we picked
Yin Anan Wong
Tumblr media
Just from the way he portrayed Jack in Jack & Joker, it's obvious he can portray kind hearted guy who can look serious if needed. He is definitely capable of being silly for scenes with Khun, but has the range to do incredible job in serious scenes with Vegas. And him and War have the perfect chemistry to deliver this duo perfectly.
MACAU
For Macau we actually have couple of choices. He doesn't have much screen time, so our criteria was an actor who could be a cute little shit (that's how Dante called it).
Mark Siwat
Tumblr media
Especially after his role of Arun in Jack & Joker, I know he would devour the role of spoiled rich kid.
Phuwin Tangsakyuen
Tumblr media
Phuwin was Dante's first choice. I can't honestly comment that much since I haven't seen any of his dramas. The closest I got to his work was when I played Lifeweaver in Overwatch (a character he voiced). But he definitely looks the part. We also threw around names like Pond or Title. But as said earlier, it can be anyone who can be cute little shit. KORN
Khun, Kinn and Kim's dad, head of the main family. He's strict with Kinn and Kim, while he spoils Khun. We decided for
Plai Paramej
Tumblr media
The sir who amazingly portrayed Joke's father in Jack & Joker. He can be strict and cold, but also portray kindness and warmness.
KANT/GUN (they changed his name for drama)
Korn's younger brother, head of the minor clan and father of Vegas and Macau. We picked
Beam Sarunyoo
Tumblr media
He served as Boss and Kant/Gun is not far from that character. He can deliver the strict father, hating the main family and guy without mercy.
BIG
This was my first pick and Dante enthusiastically agreed. We decided that the role of Big can only go to
Victor Chatchawit/Victor Zheng
Tumblr media
He was so good in Jack & Joker and I honestly fell for him. He can fight, he can be the tough guy, and I bet he could pull the protective instincts Big has towards Kinn (and maybe some other feelings too).
KEN
After some thoughts of who could be the little shit, guy hiding stuff and cocky asshole, we decided for
Neo Trai
Tumblr media
(sorry not sorry for that pic)
Neo would devour this role. I would pay anything just to see him act out the "nice one, loser" scene. From his role of Boston in Only Friends, I think it's clear, he can give us perfect Ken.
TIME AND TAY
The two friends of Kinn. They are dating, but their relationship is full of struggles, yet somehow it works. (at least that's how it is in the novel). We went with
Fort Thitipong (Time) and Peat Wasuthorn (Tay)
Tumblr media
Honestly, they are there just to hang out with Kinn and sass him when he acts out. These two are perfect for it.
TEM AND JOM
The two friends of Porsche. They hang out with him, drink with him and always have his back.
We went with
Noeul Nuttarat (Tem) and Mark Pakin (Jom)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Honestly, nothing to explain. Amazing actors, who can support Porsche as amazing friends, but also joke around with him and help him anytime he needs them.
POL AND ARM
The two Khun's bodyguards who are often victims of his shenanigans.
We decided to give these roles to
Michael Kiettisak (Arm) and Pon Thanapon (Pol)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Again, no further explanation needed. These two are amazing and definitely wouldn't mind being part of silly scenes.
YOK
Owner of the bar Porsche works in. She always helps Porsche and is like his older sister. She's kind and understanding. But also funny lady.
There is only one person perfect for this role
Jennie Panhan
Tumblr media
She's incredible, she serves and she would own this role. Period.
TAWAN
Kinn's ex, he wants to get his revenge on Kinn so he goes over to Vegas and gets close to him. However his plan backfires.
We did this for jokes and giggles. So
Nine Kornchid
Tumblr media
Honestly this choice happened just because Dante asked: "Who would be Joong's ex?" and I replied with "We could do the funniest shit and cast Nine ... lowkey literally Joong's ex". And so here is Nine.
That's it for now. There is definitely many more characters, but this is all we created.
Again, this is our personal opinion and it was only done for fun.
Feel free to share you choices and opinions.
Once again, thanks to Dante for cooperation and idea to do this. Maybe one day we will recast another drama.

☕️ on tankhun if it hasn’t been asked before or anything else in general.
ooooohhh my beloved Khun 👀 tbh not much immediately comes to mind? Khun doesn't usually get much focus in fic and while i might be hoping for some specific Khun headcanons or characterizations, it's easier to read around characterizations i disagree with for secondary character. the only hand and fast 'no' i have for Khun takes are any where Khun picks Chay over Kim, but i don't see that as much anymore. dunno if that's because it has truly died down or if i just have most of it muted, but either way i'm v grateful 😂 but everyone already knows that one, so a Khun characterization i don't much agree with:
very ""motherly"" (ie, soft) Khun
this seems to stem mostly from Khun saying he raised his brothers? ft a heavy dose of fanon characterization. but Khun having been a big part in his brothers growing up doesn't mean he'd be soft and/or necessarily a caretaker. Khun's still very sharp. i see his touches with Kinn and Kim being of the sort like, briskly yanking their clothes into order before they go out, doling out snark just as good as he gets from two moody teenagers, smacking them upside the head if they say something disrespectful, etc. Khun's still Khun. he's very impatient, intense, and brash, and he's still working through a lot of trauma that sometimes has him lashing out at others. he's not really a tender person, as much as i love tender moments with him--tenderness especially is dangerous in their life, and Khun was raised as the heir to their world first.
this is more vague vibes than anything else? it's not anything that will immediately have me backing out, esp because i love little moments where Khun can be softer with his loved ones, but Kinn is the bleeding heart of the family and i disagree with any fic that puts Khun as the heart instead.
[ send a ☕, get a bitchy* fic opinion ] *personal preference related, we’re not here to be mean

okay but listen hear me out: kinnporsche bridgerton (season 2) au with porsche as kate, kinn as anthony, and porchay as edwina. it fits too well like, the orphaned kittisiwasd brothers are given patronage by yok (in the role of lady danbury) during the social season in order for porsche to find chay a husband—also, for the purposes of this au, porsche is 25 and chay is 19.
due to porsche and chay’s piece of shit uncle gambling away their family inheritance, porsche is adamant that his little brother marry into a wealthy family to ensure his future—and the theerapanyakuls are just the right fit.
enter kinn, the viscount theerapanyakul. when he was only 18, kinn was forced to take up the role of viscount after the passing of his father (in order to relieve his traumatized older brother, tankhun, of the burden). he’s now 26 and is looking for a marriage of convenience this social season, as he has sworn off love entirely due to being fucked over in the past (cough, tawan, cough).
if you’ve watched the show, you know where the story goes from here. also, porchay eventually falls for the youngest theerapyanakul (kim), so there are no broken-hearted younger brothers to worry about after kinn and porsche finally admit their love (and lust lmao) for each other and tie the knot.

Um...hi! I have a bit strange question probably but maybe you can explain why if
Anakinn Theerapanyakun is shortened to Kinn and
Tankhun Theerapanyakun -for Khun,
but
Khimhant Theerapanyakun is Kim an not Hant or else?
I took a few linguistics classes in college but I don't actually speak Thai, i am most definitely not an expert. Therefore I do not have a real answer for you. The best I can give you is Vibes.
Kim just...sounds better. Khun and Kinn just sound better! So there is probably some grammatical underlying logic, or some cultural thing at play, but I couldn't tell you what. It happens all the time. Like, English definitely has Rules about things that most native speakers never consciously learn and just intuit through Vibes. See: THIS classic post about Adjective Orders.
Maybe someone else will respond with an actual answer.

Kim and his home / A Meta Rant
Y'know, in a lot of post-canon fics I see for Kimchay, there's sometimes this common theme of Kim refusing to move back home, either because he likes his freedom too much, or he just hates Korn to the point he refuses to share a roof with him.
And tbh, strictly speaking from my own personal experience as an Asian, I've always felt this aforementioned theme to be more in line with a western individualistic mindset, rather than the one the show is more accurately set in: an eastern collectivist mindset.
So I thought I'd talk about it~ Having said that, please do not take this as an attack or critique of anyone or their works, it isn't. Fics are fics, headcanons are headcanons, they're meant to be enjoyed as they are. This is simply an observation I made, so again, I want to yap about it.
See, I am of the opinion that since Chay has moved into the Theerapanyakul compound, it’s actually more in line for Kim to move back into the mansion as well, rather than continue to keep away.
This idea is also foreshadowed by Tankhun when he asks Kim in ep. 5:
Tumblr media
But before I continue, here's a theory I've been nursing for a while: technically speaking, if one were to line up how Kim and Chay were left off in the show, and how their story picks up in the first KP novel in that order, we already have some idea of how their story would have gone, had BOC and DAEMI’s working relationship not broken down, they weren't as problematic to work with, and Build didn’t have his scandal(s).
At the very least, we have the skeletal roadmap of what BOC theoretically would have had to work with, had they been greenlit for a KP season 2.
A short summary of KimChay in the first novel:
During Porchay’s special chapter, Chay secretly follows Porsche to the Theerapanyakul mansion. When he’s at the gates, he makes a show of bravado of justifying why Porsche shouldn’t work there anymore, until Korn sees him. Korn tries to calm Chay down, but to no avail, until Kim pulls up in another car. It’s at this point that Chay mentions being familiar with Kim, and that they have some bad history that was never resolved. Kim corners Chay against the wall like the Theerapanyakul hubby that he is, until Chay kicks him in the nuts for acting all intimidating. 🤣 The special chapter ends with Chay getting dragged away from the compound, unbeknownst to Porsche. Later, Chay moves into the compound around the time Porsche and Kinn are kidnapped. Before facing the kidnappers, Kinn had told Chay to get ahold of Pete and ask for help, hence why Chay is brought to the compound in the first place. Presumably, this would also be around the same time he gets reacquainted with Kim (and most probably makes up with him). During the kidnap scene, Kinn tells Chay to call Pete and ask for back up. The next time we see Chay, he's visiting Porsche in the hospital, and Kim volunteers to take him home (as in, back to the Theerapanyakul mansion); it's implied that they've been spending quite a bit of time together, if Porsche's comments about it throughout the rest of the novel aren't indication enough. The rest of the story has them appearing here and there, mostly when Chay is complaining about the prospects of Kim cheating and/or no longer being in love with him. Lol There are some especially important moments between Chay and Porsche when they talk about their circumstances, but I don't want to spoil that scene in this rant too much.
In the show however, Chay's moving into the Theerapanyakul household is delayed later in the show's adaptation of the events, and he doesn't move in until the incident with his own kidnapping. By the end of the show, he's seen to be firmly ensconced in the Theerapanyakul compound, as we see in his last two scenes.
Focusing on Porchay's special chapter and his mention of the "bad history" between him and Kim in the novel, I'd always wondered if BOC had taken that line from the book and just ran with it, yknow? It would make sense (to me personally, at least), since Kimchay's story is different in the novel when compared to the show.
Although their stories are different, it doesn’t necessarily mean that they contradict each other. And with the first official art of the KimChay novel having been released, it’s clear now that DAEMI/Tiara_ME intend to incorporate the show’s KimChay story into their own (to what extent, who knows).
Having said this, let’s get back on topic: the likelihood of Kim moving back into the mansion had KP been greenlit for a season 2.
For a little bit of cultural context, I'll bring up three points (very generalized, mind you).
In Asia, the idea of children moving out once they’re 18 (or older, depending on the country’s age of consent laws) is very much a western concept. Most children in Asia don’t leave their family homes until they’re married, and even then, they sometimes still opt to live with their parents along with their spouse, so they can save money to buy their own in the meantime. In fact, a lot of Asian households can also have multiple generations living under one roof (I myself am also in this situation, at least part of the time when I go home overseas). That's not to say that children moving out early, or running away, or getting kicked out from home is unheard of, but for the most part, it's a rarer scenario compared to how normalized it is in the US.
For all that Kim goes behind Korn’s back, outwardly and at least towards his two elder brothers, Kim is a good son, in so far at least that he’s willing to go undercover in order to figure out the stink of what his family is connected to. He is loyal to his family—he’s protective over Kinn, and he’s gentle in how he interacts with Tankhun. Despite having moved out, the bored ease with which he strides into the compound shows that he visits often enough that it’s not an uncommon occurrence; the deference the bodyguards show him also supports this theory.
And finally, perhaps the strongest clue: when Chan tells him that Korn wants to see him at the end of ep 13, Kim cannot bring it in himself to disobey his father, no matter his own desire to go after the Kittisawasds. No matter what suspicions Kim may have of his father, at the end of the day, as my previous point—he is a good son, a filial one (all of them are, tbh). He doesn't outwardly show disagreements against Korn, and even during that tense meeting between them in ep 5, Kim shows some level of affection by bringing his father food. And yes, while I do agree that a lot of his smiles and behavior towards Korn is just for show, it doesn't change the fact that Kim doesn't want to disrupt the family harmony amongst them. At the very least—he actively chooses not to be the cause of that disruption.
So, with this context in mind, I’m of the opinion that Kim is more likely to move back into the compound, rather than continue to keep away. In fact, in the book, this is one of the big themes with Kim and Porchay: it’s due to Chay’s presence at the Theerapanyakul household that Tankhun comments about how Kim is often at home now.
It's Chay's presence in the mansion that brings Kim home.
The way I see it, Kim moved out because he had the luxury to do so. And I don’t mean this in the way that he’s able to discard his family obligations and pursue his own dreams, not at all.
I mean it in the most basic sense: Kim—or rather, the Theerapanyakuls—have the financial luxury to allow for Kim to move away. For any person that age, who wouldn’t choose to have their own space if they could honestly afford to do so? Besides that, it’s not out of the realm of possibility that the apartment complex Kim lives in is owned by their family, hahaha! But I digress!
Getting back on point: Kim is most likely to move back in, because he now has a reason to do so, that being Chay.
I've always been of the belief that throughout this couple's story in the show and all the way from the beginning, it was always Chay unknowingly stepping into Kim’s world of the mafia and becoming further involved, not just because of his brother, but more because of Kim’s growing feelings for him.
And then by the end of the show, how it makes for a resounding statement that it’s Kim who reaches out to Chay: he’s now the one stepping into Chay’s world—which just happens to be the world of the mafia.
In that sense, it’s Chay’s presence that ultimately brings/keeps Kim home, literally and figuratively. The way I see it, the fact that it's Chay's singular, enduring presence that would be the one to inspire Kim to come home is what makes their love story a powerful one, and one that can measure up equally to the other two.

Azile's OC Round Up, Part 3 - Progression OCs.
Since I am actively updating this story, I decided to make the list of my prominent Progression OCs. I will likely add Fern and Milan to part 4.
Vice
Tumblr media
Introduced in: Chapter 1 of Progression
Age: 36
Profession: Major Family Bodyguard
Characteristics: hardworking, morally ambiguous, loving brother, quick to feel resentment
Importance: Chay's first sexual partner.
Origin: Ex-cop, orphan. Became a bodyguard to bail his troubled younger brother out of jail. Became enamored by Chay's growing confidence, abilities, and muscles. Despite their age gap and first time being sudden, they slept together a few more times. Chay declined the offer to go out on a date, then slept with Vice's roommate not too long after. This was a problem because Vice has been in a FWB situation with his roommate for a while, so he felt betrayed by both of them.
Sand
Tumblr media
Introduced in: Chapter 9 of Progression
Age: 26
Profession: Major Family Bodyguard
Characteristics: Loyal, quiet, friendly, relatively strong moral compass despite job
Importance: Chay's previous sexual partner, the only one he considers a friend.
Origin: Has very little family outside of the compound. Comes from foster care. Took the job for stability and a place to live, stayed for the friendships. Would have been open to dating Chay, but okay with being friends too. They work out together and sometimes have semi-heartfelt conversations. Honestly a pretty good guy.
Lane
Tumblr media
Introduced in: Chapter 7 of Progression
Age: 31
Profession: Psychotherapist
Characteristics: Patient, understanding, trustworthy, calm, professional
Importance: Kim's therapist, and she has actually made some strides with him.
Origin: Lane is the older cousin of Tay. She is his mother's sister's daughter. While her immediate family is not directly involved with the mafia, her father does work for Tay's father, despite her parents divorcing. She also grew up close to Tay and knows/experienced some of the traumas that occurred. Kinn already knew her and was on good terms with her due to Tay, so he reached out after it became clear Kim needed extensive treatment in order to feel better. Kim genuinely likes her, and would probably not be able to switch to a new therapist easily, or possibly at all.
Malai
Tumblr media
Introduced: In Progression, Tankhun mentions visiting her in Chapter 20, and she is introduced in Chapter 22 officially. Versions of her character are also mentioned/included in The Masks Series, Lay Me Down to Sleep, and I Do (Not Understand What's Going On).
Age: 34
Profession: Litigation Paralegal
Characteristics: Kind, ambitious, maternal, excellent multitasker
Importance: Arm's older sister
Origin: Malai as a general character was first introduced in 5, 3, 1, and On, which is a novel length prequel to Giant Dancing Hedgehogs are Nightmare Fuel told solely from Arm's POV. In that, she lives with her younger sisters and is characterized as a hardworking sisterly/motherly figure due to rescuing Arm and the girls from the human trafficking situation they were all in. In this universe, she is more career oriented, but still a motherly figure at heart. She adopted her foster siblings after becoming of age from a really abusive and traumatic household. Arm is six years younger than Malai, but the next oldest and the only boy in their family. He often feels a need to make up for her sacrifices, but she makes them happily. A year before Progression, she had a close friend pass away, leaving behind twin toddler girls. While she balanced the motherly/sisterly role with Arm, Hansa, Nalin, and Preeda, she sees Tida and Priya as her daughters now. She doesn't have much interest in marriage or romance. A history of abuse partially plays into this, but it just isn't her thing. She likes being independent in that regard.
Hansa
Tumblr media
Introduced: Chapter 22 of Progression, but versions of her character are also mentioned/included in The Masks Series, Lay Me Down to Sleep, and I Do (Not Understand What's Going On).
Age: 26
Profession: Horticulturist/Florist
Characteristics: Quiet, Non-judgmental, cautious, kind, carries a lot of trauma, but has been doing better
Importance: Arm's younger sister, Pol's love interest.
Origin: Roughly 18 months younger than Arm, Hansa was the person he was closest to growing up. In both this story and in 5, 3, 1, and On (although she had it even harder in 531). But in Progression, they grew up in an extremely abusive home where they were all traumatized, but the foster father took a particular interest in Hansa. Arm is protective of all of his sisters, but particularly her. She has been hurt a lot and struggled with her mental health when she was in her late teens to early twenties, but found solace in gardening and watching things bloom. She wants to find love, but the last time she tried went horribly. Other than Arm, she struggles with feeling comfortable around men. She was surprised to find Pol so friendly, fun, and approachable. Now that Arm and Tankhun are together and reach out more to spend time as a group, they often bring Pol. She actually looks forward to seeing him.
Nalin
Tumblr media
Introduced in: Chapter 22 of Progression, but versions of her character are also mentioned/included in The Masks Series, Lay Me Down to Sleep, and I Do (Not Understand What's Going On).
Age: 20
Profession: Robotics Major, student librarian at university library
Characteristics: Highly intelligent, quick witted, smooth, tech-savvy, a romantic deep down.
Importance: Arm's younger sister, Macau's love interest.
Origin: Basically a mini female Arm, but more charismatic. Her main interests lie in further integrating and advancing robotics when it comes to the medical field and to help those living with disabilities live more freely and comfortably in their day to day lives. While she works hard and is a top student at her university, she is occasionally known to have fun. She did meet Macau at a party and had a night with him that felt magical. Is he an idiot for dropping his phone into a grate? Yes. Did she hold a grudge so she wouldn't feel sadness and rejection? Yes. But that's cleared up now, and they have been talking multiple times a day since her brother's party. She doesn't know if Arm will be thrilled about her potentially dating his boyfriend's cousin, and she loves and looks up to her older brother so much. But she likes Macau, so...🤷🏻‍♀️
Preeda
Tumblr media
Introduced in: Chapter 22 of Progression, but versions of her character are also mentioned/included in The Masks Series, Lay Me Down to Sleep, and I Do (Not Understand What's Going On).
Age: 18 going on 19
Profession: Gap year. Looking into colleges, having fun until then.
Characteristics: confident, flirtatious, indecisive, attention seeking, challenging, family-oriented.
Importance: Arm's youngest sister
Origin: The youngest of Arm's foster siblings. Despite being the youngest when removed from their abusive situation, she witnessed a lot, which has caused certain rebellions, impulses, and avoidances in her. Her family worries, but keeps communication open. This helps, because she feels free and happy to talk with her siblings and share things with them. Came out as a lesbian at 15 and never looked back. Wishes Arm were more flamboyant and obvious in his own gay-leaning tendencies, so she's glad he's dating Tankhun, who is fabulous.

I'm dying to know more about Chan and Korn's relationship. Chan is so fucking loyal and so professional at every turn. Was he always that way or did years of hard training and punishment make him that way? Was he around when Korn's father was still alive? How many years has he been with the family?
Did he watch the boys grow up? Was he miserable knowing there was nothing he could do to stop all the events happening in front of him? Was he the one who rescued Tankhun? (Was he the one who kidnapped Tankhun on Korn's orders?) Has there ever been a command he hasn't fulfilled?
The way he looks at Kim when Korn is pronounced "dead" is such a fatherly moment, an unspoken conversation. How well does he know these boys? Kinn even immediately asks him to sit and genuinely talk with him. He has to have seen them grow into the men they are today, and how much influence did he have on that? Was Chan the one checking on them when they were sick? Making sure they were taken care of by nurses before reporting back to Korn?
Chan has so many layers and I hate we never get to see them. I want to know if his loyalty is to Korn or to the family. I want to know what acts he's committed that he can never forgive himself for. I want to know what he would do if he had to make a choice between saving Korn and saving Kinn (or even all 3.) I want to see him tell his darkest secrets to someone over drinks, and see the weight of his burden fall off his shoulders for once in his fucking life.

I must see closely later if Gun is so repulsed when he has Vegas' blood on his hands. Or we won't see it at all. So he probably is.

Nothing new here. Just two Theerapanyakul bros bullshitting each other openly.
Gun knows that Korn killed two small children. They don't come weaker than that.
Also Gun certainly thinks of Vegas as weak and abuses him. I am sure Korn knows that too.
A stageplay for others.
And I wonder, what Korn planned to say to Vegas? Vegas is a valuable asset by himself (only his father projects his own uselessness on him, but others know his competence, even Kinn, even Tankhun), but did Korn plan to use him this early on? Or just prepare him for what's to come, to plant some seeds. This reminds me how Korn ordered Kim to visit him right before the main showdown (I'll quit calling it the massacre for the time being I guess). He had roles assigned to them all.
