I have received TWO KimChay D.A.R.E Club Scene fic recs after the request was published yesterday, so I'm going to pass them on to you!

Summary:

Drugs was never something Chay was interested in. His brother had warned him enough about the many dangers of doing drugs. But again Porsche had also warned him about clubs and alcohol and here he was. So when in his blurred vision he saw someone handing him a pill he just thought that it was one more bad decision that was his own to make and to deal with later. Chay just wanted to feel in control of himself, paradoxically in the moment of his life he was the most drunk and emotionally messed up.

I have been looking EVERYWHERE for a Kimchay Fic that takes place during the Cannon story line - more specifically - during the Bar Scene, where kim prevents chay from taking any drugs. I've had this idea for a while, where Kim either fails, comes to late, or something happens differently.

It's my favorite scene in KinnPorsche and I haven't been able to find anything on it. Help a freaky fan out please!

I just want to know if something like that exists already or not, and if there is, where can I read it? If not, I'll write it, or send the idea to a fic writer. THANKS!!

Aha the Kim "D.A.R.E To Say No To Drugs" scene, one of the objectively funniest moments in the show.

Now, I'm not as well-versed in KimChay as I am in say, VegasPete or KinnPorsche, but i can pretty confidently say that 1) there is at least a few fics out there that deal with this and 2) all the KimChay fans would absolutely love another. So you should definitely write your idea no matter what!

that said, i can't think of any specific fics to rec off the top of my head, so I'm going to pass this off to the community: link your favorite KimChay D.A.R.E Scene fics in the replies or send them to my inbox!

I love time loops. For so many reasons - the opportunity to kill a character I love many times different ways and still have them survive, the cumulative effect of trauma, and in some ways most of all the aftermath for the person who was going through the loop: the world is changed but you're the only one who knows. You're changed but you're the only one who knows why. And you can never really know when it's over for good. I described this fic previously as “here, pete, have an even worse guilt complex about how bad things happening to vegas are your responsibility to prevent. have fun!” and "24 pages of time loop fic and only twelve of it is the actual time loop. the rest is the resulting trauma" (it ended up actually being "28 pages of time loop fic and 14 of it is the actual time loop, the rest is the resulting trauma." 50/50!). *slaps roof of Pete* This boy can fit so much emotional damage in him! Anyway - as always, thank you to @ameliarating for whipping this fic into shape (kicking and screaming). My love to all of you still in this vegaspete pit with me. Comments here give me a much needed dopamine hit every time I reread them (often).

QL Fic Rec Fest Week 11: WIP

This week's theme is to rec a WIP. I'm gonna give you two.

First up is Blood Upon the Snow by Black_Ranger

This is THEE definitive Nanny-Bodyguard Pete fic, and Black_Ranger relatively recently came back and updated after a long time away. It lives rent free in my head. The dynamics between Pete and Vegas are so good. The actual plot re: why Vegas needs for Venice to have an UNDERCOVER bodyguard is very interesting.

Second up is COMPLETELY different vibes. Chart Topper by gayzuko (@kinnbig)

Just pure hilarity from the very concept. Porsche getting roped into making out with all the other bodyguards For Reasons, the namesake chart, Chan being the Final Boss. Everything is just so funny.

So once again this week I am not going for a Kinnporsche rec. Strange and unsettling and off brand, I know! However, when I thought 'Slow Burn' i really couldn't think of any Kinnporsche ones that really hit what I was looking for. For me, It doesn't count as a Slow Burn if it's not at least 50k.

But that does limit things, because a lot of BL fandoms are so small. But if I know one thing, it's that Love In The Air has got me.

I am, and always will be, an OT4 Girlie (hedgehog) at heart no matter the fandom. And LITA delivers the OT4 in spades. So here it is, over 100k of Phayu, Rain, Sky and Prapai coming together and figuring things out.

The problem is that in trying to be better, Vegas is mostly trying to not be himself. The problem is a pattern starts to calcify between them where Vegas insists he’s going to treat Pete right, that Pete deserves to be loved and treasured and Pete says that the seed of this thing they have was grown in a dark room, wrapped in chains and that he does not need Vegas to unmake himself from the foundations up.

Vegas survived. Now Pete has to show him how to live.

i didn’t think i had much more to say about pete and vegas, but apparently i had 12,000 words on hurting someone and wanting to be hurt by someone still in me.
