MUKAMI HOUSEHOLD HC’S

A/n: Long time no see!! Work and life got super crazy but I’ve been indulging in Diabolik Lovers again! Alongside that! For a few months I’ve been rewriting DL (more like my own au!!) just small tweaks and adding more realistic characterizations to characters I enjoy! So I decided to make a list of my headcanons for the Mukami household + Yui (she’s my beauty)

TW: slight mention and hint at abuse, mention of sexual abuse, mention of animal death

Take all of these at face value I’ve done my research to the best of my abilities and are basing this off of the things I’ve read, played, and watched! Plus my own little personal things!

- A quieter household. Each brother seems to have their own hobbies and tends to stick to themselves. This doesn’t mean they don’t enjoy each others company, they seem like the only group to like REALLY enjoy being around each other. Brother banter and all that nonsense.

- isn’t the safest but compared to the Sakamaki household Yui is in less danger. She actually spends more time pursuing schooling and smaller hobbies here without much backlash. Yuma and her garden often and Ruki helps her study. But of course this kinda stuff is paid back in blood so, you win some loose some

- Yuma will tease all 3 brothers for their height, I believe this may be canon? But it’s really Kou he has spats with over their heights. As an idol Kou is notoriously over dramatic and borderline narcissistic (and very full of himself) so he’s kinda pissy Yuma hangs his height over his head, but it’s all in good fun! (Usually)

-Yui and Ruki don’t really get along in the beginning. Which duh, but after a long period of time Yui began to get annoyed with being bossed around? I mean I would to, so he kinda grossed her out. Too much like an Ayato Reiji mix

- it’s mentioned either that in a CD or clip from more blood (the game) that Yui housed a kitten and was healing it back to health and Ruki killed it. This also kinda solidified their relationship into not being great. Yui believes very strongly in her morals and Ruki is one to oppose them. Meaning that in her eyes he’s cruel and in his she’s weak.

- Azusa is super interested in religions. Not like in them but he thinks the rules and regulations are kinda interesting to look into, he asks Yui a lot of questions about her faith and what it means to her.

- Yuma and Yui get along the best, the brothers were once human and I feel like don’t lack empathy to the extent pure bloods do. Course they will make comments that have Yui going “???” Because they are still entitled vampires

- The kinda group to have annoying ass orders at cafes. They don’t go out as a group much but when they get the chance they do. So when Yui joined she tagged along (of course they were like helicopter parents). Kou wants something sweet all the time so it’s either a milkshake/frappe nonsense, Ruki is the one who makes in super obvious he “just wants a black coffee. Black, no sugar or cream”, now Azusa’s order isn’t hard but he’s so quiet that it’s hard to catch it all so it’s usually made wrong on accident. Yuma sticks to the same thing but it’s a coffee with like 13 different steps that by the end it’s like a concoction of sugar, cream, flavoring, and coffee.

- Yui has an easy order, usually a tea. She avoids most coffee’s due to her sleep already being out of whack

- Yui has nightmares often due to the abuse she’s faced and she’s semi opened up to Azusa abt them in passing but tends to shut it down if pried.

- Ruki is stressed almost always. With the stress of being Adam kinda solely falling on his shoulders he doesn’t sleep often or even at all.

- this is supposedly canon but, Yuma likes bigger curvy girls in my mind :3

- Kou likes Kesha, Megan, and other female rap/pop artists. I also feel like Yui also dabbles with that kinda music but it isn’t her favorite

- Yuma’s the kinda brother that gives his brothers the faulty gaming controller :/

- Yuma and Kou smoke weed 100% idk I feel like they’d enjoy it, Ruki has a few times but usually just tells them off. Azusa has zero interest, Yui also has dabbled and she enjoyed it but getting high with like supernatural creatures can be… anxiety inducing?

- Ruki seems like one of those kids who’d have a super non trad kinda pet? Idk a snake or something. Not messy, loud, and chill

- Kou seems like the type to be sex repulsed often? He’s an idol and gets sexualized a lot in the limelight so bad correlation but even if he hates it he still does it to Yui

- Yui also is very sex repulsed

- yuma has a hard time coming to terms with his past with Shuu? It’s a weird grief thingy

- I feel like sometimes, only sometimes, they miss being human. I believe it’s semi mentioned already. But I feel like when Yui started living with them they started noticing that feeling more in an angry/sad way.

Some playlist head canons for the X-Men

Not sure why but lately I’ve had ideas involving songs for the X-Men characters! So below I’ve given each character 7 songs I think would be in a playlist for the characters! Feel free to disagree, this is all my personal opinion ;w; Also this isn’t music accurate for the 90’s so suspend your disbelief!!

Scott- Cosmic Dancer by T. Rex, Talking in your sleep by The Romantics, Little Lion Man by Mumford and Sons, Espresso by Sabrina Carpenter (defo a guilty pleasure artist introduced to by Jubilee), Where is my Mind by the Pixies, Heroes by David Bowie and I believe in a thing called love by The Darkness (see “I’ve got you”, he’d defo do this song at drunk karaoke).

Gambit- The Pretender by Foo Fighters, Fuck me like you mean it by Steve Rodriguez, Chk Chk Boom by Stray Kids (gives me very Gambit does tricks to this song vibes), Ma Belle Evangeline from Princess and the Frog (obviously), Powerless by Waterparks (kind of a good song he’d sing to Rogue), Good Old-Fashioned Lover boy by Queen and Iris by Goo Goo Dolls.

Logan- Paint it black by Rolling Stones, Walk this way by Aerosmith, Southern Nights by Glen Campbell, Midnight Ride by Orville Peck (introduced to him by Rogue, would defo do a drunk duet to this song), Hurt by Johnny Cash, Barn Raising from Seven Brides for Seven Brothers (I head-canon that he secretly loves classic MGM musicals like Seven Brides and Calamity Jane) and Automobile by KALEO.

Rogue- Timber by Kesha, Can’t Remember to forget you by Shakira and Rihanna (sexy dancing in the club to this song with Morph and Jubilee), All the things she said by t.A.T.u., The Reason cover by Lady Parts (just gives me Rogue vibes!), Maneater by Nelly Furtado, Die with a smile by Lady Gaga and Bruno Mars and When you’re gone by Avril Lavigne (still got a lil emo/goth phase in her and this song is just sad enough to fit the vibes of both goth and the rest of her music with Avril).

Jean- Me and my husband by Mitski (gives her and Scott vibes), Chain by Fleetwood Mac, Young Volcanoes by Fall Out Boy (didn’t want to go with the obvious “The Phoenix choice from this album), Like real people do by Hozier, SOS by Abba (again, about her and Scott), Light my Love by Greta Van Fleet and Defying Gravity from Wicked.

Storm- Woman by Doja Cat, Cobra by Megan Thee Stallion, Thunderstruck by AC/DC (I’m sorry this is an obvious choice!!!), Confident by Demi Lovato, Little wolf from Epic: The Musical, My love mine all mine by Mitski and Good Riddance (Time of your life) by Green Day (feels like she’d connect with this song somehow, introduced to Green Day either by Morph or Gambit).

Hank- It’s All Right by Jon Batiste, Just a man from Epic:The Musical (I feel like he’d quite like the concept of this musical), Minecraft by C418, Concerning Hobbits from Lord of the Rings, La Vie en Rose cover by Louis Armstrong (gives me big jazz fan vibes), My baby just cares for me by Nina Simone and Sonata No. 14 “Moonlight” by Beethovan.

Jubilee- Crazy by LE SSERAFIM (was hard to narrow down a couple of K-Pop songs but this gave me the most Jubilee vibes), Girls just wanna have fun by Cyndi Lauper, You belong with me by Taylor Swift (she’d 100% be a Swiftie!), Bed chem by Sabrina Carpenter, Guess by Charli XCX, Just Dance by Lady Gaga and She’s homeless by CreepP (a good dance song when she’s out with Morph and Rogue).

Morph- Queer as in fuck you by Dog park dissidents, Tragedy cover by Brian David Gilbert, Abracadabra by Lady Gaga (Jubilee and Morph are both big fans of Gaga!), Dancing by myself by Billy Idol, I’m still standing by Elton John (headcanon that they love dancing), Let’s dance by David Bowie and Joyride (circus night) by Freshman Biology (original works too but this one’s funnier and they give the vibe they’d like parody music).

Here's my girl Kesha looking hot as fuck. Unf. You go girl! Kesha has always been insanely hot to me—her reckless abandon is very sexy. I think that early in her career she embraced that raw in-your-face sexuality. And then everything went super sideways and she def pulled back on that, for obvious reasons. And I love the more introspective music she made in that era (Gag Order is brilliant and complex and amazing), but my heart fell very deeply in love with Kesha the badass reckless party girl and the music that expressed that attitude. To this day, no music has the capacity to lift me right out of a bad / sad / unmotivated state like Kesha's first albums. I will forever love Animal / Cannibal / Warrior. Those albums are my happiest place. And Joyride indicates she's ready to party again. And recent pics like this one have a confident sexiness that isn't the same as the brash sexiness of her early career, but the confidence is back and I'm so here for it. If her next album is a return to those early days I'm gonna lose my mind. Today's girlcrushart guardian is Kesha.

What kind of music do you think each of the Batfam members listen to? (Besides Jason who is obviously a Mitski stan)

OH I LOVE THIS QUESTION!!!!!!! i'm gonna tryyyyy and take this seriously

starting off i think alfred's music taste influences just about everyone in the manor to some degree. lots of classical music flowing through the hallways at most hours of the day, the music reminds everyone of home. i think it's a general rule of thumb in the family that if you want to locate alfred, just follow the sound of mozart.

drawing off a bit of canon, i think dick listens to a lot of popular 80s stuff. the cure, joy division, the b-52s, billy joel, abba etc. that one panel of him humming 'here comes the sun' also comes to mind, i think he'd enjoy the beatles. however i do think he'd also be into some soft rock, maybe just a little bit of more intense stuff too. fleetwood mac's a big one i think he'd like. i've mentioned in a post before how i think dick would enjoy foo fighters in his post-robin rebellion phase, and i stand by that.

i do also enjoy his insane love for david bowie in the live-action titans adaption... very dear to me. i take that as gospel. also have a slight feeling he's a bit of a jazz guy once in a blue moon.

however i don't think he'd be overly into music, (the artists though, that's a whole other thing), i think he's also just happy to flick on the radio to some random dated station... or, don't crucify me... the top hits of the day.

i think jason's taste is a bit more refined. he's the #1 victim of alfred's classical music agenda, sitting in the library he's got something like 'lacrimosa' looping endlessly.

unlike dick who's got a happy-go-lucky approach to music, i think jason feels into it a bit more. he's joyriding through the city and listening to slipknot, sleeping with sirens, misfits etc etc. he's just looking for background music, maybe he's playing dashboard confessional, or... hear me out... lana del rey. he's out on patrol and is playing 90's rap through his helmet's bluetooth.

i think he'd also enjoy amy winehouse, the boys next door, no doubt, alice in chains, and maybe a bit of lorde. he's definitely into more indie bands too, local stuff. makes his own mixtapes and you'd only be able to recognise like 20% of the bands by name. he's also the one batfam member who i think would go to war to defend the songs he feels deeply about.

tim's a bit more difficult to narrow down, but i'll throw 90s alternative out there; jimmy eat world, oasis, radiohead, weezer, pearl jam type stuff. i'm also very set in my ways about femme-pop tim, which is definitely more out there and harder to justify. in terms of that i think beyonce, rihanna, and britney spears are the big three he'd enjoy.

i just think he likes anything with a beat tbh, it's not so much about genre or the actual song, as it is about the mood. similarly to dick, i don't think he's typically meticulous with defining his taste or anything, just happy to listen to whatever's making him feel good.

as for damian, i think anything with soothing instruments entices him. mainly classical, but not just limited to european stuff, i'm thinking of tyagaraja, toru takemitsu etc just off the top of my head. he'd also like elton john, queen, and other older artists with a polished vocal and avantgarde nature. i'm also going to put cartoon soundtrack music into the mix, specifically songs from adventure time. for whatever reason i'm also super drawn into the idea of him being big on kpop, although i don't know enough about the genre to make specific assumptions.

steph (ik she's not exactly batfam but i'm including her anyways) listens to predominantly female artists, and oscillates between very uplifting pop stuff, and.. societal hatred. so i think on one hand she's very into marina and the diamonds, kesha, and olivia rodrigo, but also paramore, hole, fiona apple, lorde etc. in contrast to all of that though she's also a huge fan of the beatles' solo careers, particularly paul mccartney.

cass is into a lot of the music she's done for ballet performances. the music for the snow queen instantly comes to mind as something that would be a favourite of hers. this might be a bit out there, but i think she'd enjoy grimes a lot, mostly because of how enriching it is to just listen to the sounds of, without having to pay much mind to the words she's speaking (grimes never really makes a lot of sense anyways). apart from that i don't think she really listens to all that much music, maybe some 2000s pop she hears on the radio driving around with steph.. i did enjoy the all star gag in batgirls (2022).

babs has a pretty similar taste to steph i think (i believe steph may have gotten some of her taste from her). she's a big fan of stevie nicks, gwen stefani, maybe the cranberries, hole, dolly parton, janet jackson, lauryn hill, and lesley gore. i'd like to say she enjoys a bit of 70s eccentric too, the doors, blondie, bowie etc. i don't think she's overly fussed with what she's listening to, as long as it doesn't sound too watered down and modern-pop like.

and i don't really know enough about duke to make assumptions, so i'm just going to let him sit out of this one. i also don't think bruce has any time for music, except for a bit of classical to help him concentrate every so often.

hmm. hopefully no one takes this Out of Context in a shitty way, buuuut...

in my early 20s i had intense anhedonia where everything bored me so much it was agonizing: not even music perked me up, which is one of the tell-tale signs that you have Something Wrong on like, a chemical level. i was dopamine-deprived and it almost physically hurt. hard to describe unless you've been there. i spent days listening to audiobooks for hours at a time while staring at the ceiling, going to class, and sleeping. nothing was interesting, nothing was stimulating, nothing was new or exciting or fun, and i looked forward to nothing. it was Advanced Depression in a way that wasn't even depression because i wasn't sad, necessarily, just...unable to genuinely feel.

this is small-scale shit but the anhedonia was so intense i would have done anything to end it, so like. i mean. i don't want to say "i get it" but i don't think Junko is unrealistic is what i'm saying, from my own experience.

7. What's something the fandom does when it comes to this character that you like?

that people can openly like Junko at all without 5000 disclaimers is a blessing to me. you all know there'd be some Fandoms where she wouldn't fly as a character and there'd be DNI lists about her fans due to her problematic, totally non-fictional real life behavior in Danganronpa, a story that totally happened

8. What's something the fandom does when it comes to this character that you despise?

forgetting that, at least in DR1, Monokuma really isn't his own guy. he's a persona of Junko's. he isn't in V3, obviously, and you can argue both ways in DR2, but DR1 he is Junko, he is Junko's way of fucking with everyone and not revealing herself, and a lot of what Monokuma says tells us a bunch about her Worldview and her Relationships with her class. i don't know why this is so important to me But It Is so deal with it yo

Sonic Characters At Parties

In the spirit of the fact it's my birthday, teehee -wanted to make a headcanon post about what the characters do/how they they act at parties (not necessarily birthday ones!)

Sonic: This man is the life of the party (Pt. 1) - in the wise words of Kesha, the party don't start until he walks in. He's loud, he breakdances, he belts in karaoke, and he shovels food in his face. Get him on the music because he's about to play the sickest beats. However, this comes at the cost of Sonic needing a total 'me' day to himself after. He fucks off and runs to spend time all day by himself in nature to recharge his social battery.

He's a professional troll when invited to fancy gatherings - and will find a way to play innapropriate music on the speakers.

Tails: A lot more muted compared to his friend, but he tries to get involved with the party in every way he can. He'll join Sonic on the dance floor and somehow can do a robot dance better than Omega can (everyone is still trying to figure out how that works). He won't sing karaoke unless he's singing in a group though, and in the case of birthday parties - this fox WILL find a way to sneak an extra slice of cake. Will also help Sonic in his music antics at fancy gatherings.

Knuckles: In most instances, he stands awkwardly by the snacks like an NPC in the corner not knowing what to do with himself until he's dragged to the dance floor by his more extroverted friends. Sonic drags Knuckles into a dance battle and they become the centre of the attention because these boys can DANCE. Somehow they end the night on the karaoke stage singing a duet of Breaking Free from High School Musical - screaming the lyrics to each other off-key, but pouring their souls into the performance.

Amy: She planned the party - without her - there isn't a party. She knows everyone's favourite snacks and everyone cheers when they see her reveal whatever cake she made for their birthday. She's a fellow life of the party (Pt. 2) - getting herself involved with the dancing and while not the greatest singer- gives her all in karaoke. She's also insanely good at party games and you know for a fact that she's going to find a way to incorporate truth or dare into the night.

Rouge: Girl has a mission, okay? And that's to stir up as much chaos as possible. She's life of the party (Pt. 3) - and uses the opportunity to get as much gossip as possible. She causes trouble and has so much fun doing it - last time, she managed to make a food fight break out and it was the time of everyone's lives. She basically wins almost any party game she joins but that's usually because she's shamelessly cheating. Either way, she also enjoys dancing and singing in the karaoke - and has got a pretty decent voice actually.

If she's ever invited out somewhere high class, girl is leaving that party several times richer.

Shadow: He warps in, takes a slice of cake, and leaves. Rouge signed his name in the happy birthday card, that's enough right?

He made one exception to this on Rouge's last birthday party where he actually joined in on things. He spent the first half brooding in the corner with a plastic cup of punch until the Sonic and Knuckles dance battle broke out. Sonic taunted Shadow to get involved - and get involved he did. No one could have been prepared for how fucking good Shadow was - putting Sonic and Knuckles to shame. Was that the end of the surprises? No, because he busted out broadway vocals during karaoke. Perks of being the Ultimate Life Form.

Silver: In complete contrast to the above hedgehog, Silver has a great time at parties - but he sucks ass at dancing. He's giving it his all but he's totally off time and his movements are just... very bizzarre, or they're just giving nothing. They're the equivelent of the "go white boy go" meme. But he's trying his best and he's having such a good time that no one can fault him. He also doesn't mind giving karaoke a try but isn't amazing at it either, but nothing can kill this man's vibes.

Blaze: She's a lot more reserved in parties compared to her friends and tends to stand off to the side a bit while everyone else is being loud and wacky. She CAN dance... but her dancing style is more ballet than anything else. She joins in a bit but usually goes off the dance floor after a couple of dances, happy to linger by the snacks. However, she has beautiful vocals in karaoke - and the party takes a moment to slow down as Blaze treats them to a soft ballad.

Omega: Doesn't even wanna be here, but hey - Rouge drug him to it, what's a robot to do? He doesn't care if it's someone else's birthday, HE'S the one who gets to destroy the pinata. He might join in a dance or two with enough coaxing and his hidden bluetooth speaker function often comes in handy. But overall, would much rather stay at home with Shadow.

definitely imagine her listening to like... hot girl party music yk??? like she gives me 2010s Kesha vibes for sure. I think I could also def imagine her listening to like Doja Cat or Ayesha Erotica. i feel like she'd have a mix of different music and 10,000 playlists that she swears she listens to (she only searches a song and listens to the radio for it) for each mood she feels. it's either super hype ready to party or depressing ready to bawl your eyes out on her shoulder.

WILL ask you to name 5 Nirvana songs and WILL get mad when you can't. i feel like she'd also listen to Evanescence idk why. she's very serious about this and if you call her emo for it she might just MIGHT have to teach u a little lesson (forcing you to listen to her music with her until you like it). overall 20/10 music taste, would listen to music with her, would name 5 songs for her!

KATSUKI BAKUGO

omg. dad. rock. Metallica? he has the record, duh????? why wouldnt he????? Nickelback? uhm got that one too. Bon Jovi? already there. long story short he has fire music taste. i cant imagine him listening to like rap and stuff idk why that might just be me. but i've always imagined him to listen to at the very least 80s & 90s rock.

Twenty One Pilots. Panic! At The Disco.. and don't hate on me but like xxxtentacion. but not his really upbeat and hype music definitely his slower songs. like i feel like his music taste ranges but no where near as much as Mina. he has a very select taste but is open to listen to others genres (unlike Bakugo).

Melanie Martinez. i KNOW she listens to her, especially Mad Hatter. i think toga is definitely very open to any music, as long as she likes it she doesnt care. i kind of get a Hyperpop kind of feeling for her. but idrk. if you gave her a music recommendation and she liked you, i think it'd be the only thing she listened to until she knew the artists every single song and every single lyric.

idk y i get very... like hype Bruno Mars. like 24k Magic typa vibe. but i also get a very rap type vibe from her. like i cant really explain it. like if she listens to rap it wont be no slow shit she is listening to the most upbeat and fast sound she can find and will sit there and listen to it like its fuckin classical music and tap her foot on the floor very gently like its a nice little tune.

same for him, im not quite sure. cause like i feel like it wouldnt be completely alternative but it wouldnt be anything like pop either. i think when hes alone he listens to Adele ngl. but as for when he's with people? he just simply doesnt listen to music. i think i could imagine him listening to some Mother Mother songs or possibly The Cranberries lol.

erm. its like a mix of Bruno Mars, but not hype Bruno like Mirko, sad Bruno like Grenade and like if there was a mix of Cigarettes After Sex and Hozier. i've always gotten that vibe from him weirdly enough. again, i dont think hes super open with music recommendations unless he liked you and you specifically told him it'd make you happy if he gave it a try.

This is definitely going to give off 2014 Wattpad vibes but sue me I guess.

Basically, Emily finds out you can sing during a random karaoke night with the team.

After the case you just had, hearing Morgan say, "Drinks when we land?" was music to your ears. You needed a whiskey as soon as possible to wash down the bad taste in your mouth. This case was full of bad fathers who spent years ignoring their mistakes. It made you sick and felt too close to home. Your own dad treated you awful your entire life just to act like nothing ever happened when you were an adult.

As soon as the plane landed you were en route to the bar, Rossi and Hotch being the designated drivers. In your work clothes still, you all filled into a booth at the bar closest to the BAU. Your blazer is long discarded into your go bag, sleeves rolled up on your button-up. Emily could sense your anger from a mile away, holding your hand under the table to let you know she knew. Emily knew about your relationship with your parents and from the second the case was presented it would mess with your head.

Penelope slid into the booth beside you as she met you guys there, "Guys, it's karaoke night!" She beamed with excitement as she filled out the slip to get in line. "Hey, Pen hand me one." You smiled at the blonde as her mouth hung open, "Y/n! You've never sung in front of us before!" She handed you a slip and a pink pen from her purse. Emily looked at you confused. You jotted your name down and song choice, "I can take both of ours up there Penny."

As Penny finished absolutely rocking a Brittany song, you heard your name be called to sing. A knot formed in your stomach knowing the reaction that was to come from your performance but, singing always helped you cope so it was worth it, you hoped. Praying by Kesha started playing and the entire team immediately turned towards you. Penny smiling so big at you, phone out to record, Morgan staring at you with concern, and Emily. Your sweet Emily had moved to sit directly in front of the stage. She smiled at you sweetly as you started.

At this point hot, angry tears were rolling down your cheeks, Emily's too. Emily with childhood trauma of her own, knew that yours was totally different and could not imagine treating a kid that way.

Your anger was peaking as you hit the note at the end of the bridge, not caring about the accuracy of the notes. It was never to sound good, or have a healthy belt but to get some sort of release. The voice of your dad ringing in your ears, "Again Y/N, hit the note. Now." The karaoke version skips part of the song sending you into overdrive to prep for the whistle note.

You felt your hands shaking with anger as you grabbed the mic, pulling it off the stand and taking in a deep breath. You wanted to hit this note so loud he could hear it back home. Remembering how he never saw any of your shows, it took you over the edge.

But some things only God can forgive

You hit the note perfectly, holding it as long as your lungs would allow you. A deep burning in your chest cut you off and you finally opened your eyes, making eye contact with Spencer from across the bar. His eyes were full of tears. The show of emotion from the regularly held-together genius made you cry harder,

The last line came out as a whisper and you put the mic back in the stand. Stepping off the stage, Emily wrapped her arms around you. She pulled your face into her chest to shield you from the crowd as you cried. People cheered, clapped, and some even awed. You let it all out on her chest, your shaky arms barely holding her back. Emily rubbed your head and whispered sweet nothings into your ear, "Let it all our sweet girl." After you finished crying, she wiped the tears off your face, blowing slightly to help your face dry. "You ready to go sit down and drink your whiskey?" You nodded and smiled at her, grateful for the woman you got.

Garcia was fast to stand up and engulf you in a hug, her phone still recording on the table, "Pen! You filmed me?" She smiled and wiped a tear away, "Well I tried but I got too emotional." Derek had a smug look on his face. You slid back into the booth now sandwiched between him and Emily. You took a swig from your glass letting the burning cold liquid soothe your now, sore throat. "What Morgan?" He chuckled and held his beer up to you, "I knew you had a secret talent Y/N, you were too boring." You scoffed at him as everyone laughed. Emily grabbed your hand and kissed the back of it, "Seriously honey, you have a wonderful voice." You smiled at her, nothing but love in your gaze.

Hotch finally spoke up, "We love you YN, you know that right?" He had a slight smile toying on his lips. You looked at him, "I do. You and Rossi have become the parts of a father I never got and I cannot thank you for it enough." He finally smiled fully and Rossi patted your back. Penelope finally broke the serious undertones of the conversation, "So Y/N I want to hear all about your past roles, right now." Side conversations started as you told Pen about every role, every show, and every mishap of rehearsals. Emily just stared at you, so glad you finally were sharing this side of you, even if it wasn't intentional.

Just like the water balloon Will had overfilled last summer, El feels like she’s ready to pop. It’s like, she’s a balloon. She’s always been a balloon. In the lab, it’d been easy. Papa told her what to fill herself with, told her when to persevere, and when to pop.

Now? Everyone tells her everything all the time. In California, Jonathan had been disappointed when she’d smacked that bully in the face. But when Hopper had found out, he’d clapped her on the back and laughed, liked he was proud.

Who is right?

She hopes it’ll be easier, back in Hawkins. And it is. Max whacks ankles with her cane if anyone so much as scoffs at her, and she has Mike, and all her other friends. But math still turns to mush in her brain, and she still spends long days trying to sit still in quiet classrooms that remind her far too much of locked playrooms.

Now that the Upside-Down is gone, it’s like something in her has atrophied. Will’s flourishing without the Mind Flayer tethering him down. Like, every gate closing has awoken something in him where the shadows used to be – something talkative and confident and happy. El is happy, too. For him.

But where does that leave her? The unwilling weapon. The one to save their lives when all the chips are down. What’s the point of sitting quietly in a droll classroom compared to saving her own little corner of the world?

Hopper tells her that it will settle down within her. He rubs her shorn head roughly and tells her that thing inside her that’s always waiting to fight will grow dormant. El doesn’t believe him.

Everyone is surprised when all the windows shatter, seemingly without provocation, one day in Mrs. Click’s class while El is being reprimanded for her poor performance on a test. El’s not surprised. She’s an overfilled balloon, of course she’d burst.

Dustin gives her a look, wide eyed and panicked as everyone else begins shrieking. She pointedly doesn’t meet his gaze. There’s nothing really to say.

But word travels fast around the party. It’s not Joyce who picks her up after school – it’s Steve.

She hasn’t spent much time with Steve, but she’s heard stories. Dustin especially admires the boy, but even Mike has a little bit of admiration tucked away for him. It’s Max’s opinion that makes her get in the car, though.

Max, who’s sullen and euphoric in waves now that she’s at half-sight and half-mobility. Friends and parents have dropped out of her life in the strain, but Steve’s name falls out of Max’s mouth every other sentence. Steve, who lets her stay at his house sometimes. Steve, who goes grocery shopping with her, who helped her clean her house. Who roughhouses with Max the way no one else will anymore.

El gets in the car.

There’s upbeat music playing quietly from the speakers. He bops his head to it as he pulls away from the school.

“What’s up, Supergirl?” he asks, hands on the wheel, eyeing her from his sideways vantage point.

No one calls her Supergirl anymore. There’s nothing left to save.

“You picked me up,” El says, sullen and euphoric in waves.

Steve laughs, barking and ugly. It makes El smile down at her shoes. “Dustin called me, you know,” he says. El’s smile curls down as something pit-like sinks into her stomach.

She watches the fractals of evening light bounce around on her legs, waiting to be reprimanded. It doesn’t come. The song changes, something more droning and somber as El looks up from her feet.

Steve’s staring out the windshield, still smiling. “I still sleep with my bat under my bed, you know.” She nods, doesn’t know what to say. “And I drive around sometimes, making sure all you kids are safe.”

El feels her brow furrow as she looks at Steve. She doesn’t know him well enough to read his expression. “The Upside-Down is gone,” she says, echoing Hoper and Joyce, and Mike, and almost all her friends.

Steve laughs again, but El doesn’t think he actually finds it funny. “I know!” Steve says, still smiling. “Robin’s been saying that same thing to me, but you know what?”

Lucas had taught her about rhetorical questions, so she waits a while before realizing she should answer. “No, I don’t know what.”

He glances over at her. “I don’t feel like it’s over,” he says quietly, like it’s a secret between the two of them, before bursting out a drawn-out sigh. “Everyone’s acting like it’s all over so we should move on, but how do I do that?”

El analyzes his profile. His eyebrows are pinched but he’s still smiling. She thinks he looks sad. “I miss it,” El whispers.

Steve pulls over and turns the key in the ignition. He turns his whole body to look over at her. “The Upside-Down?” he asks.

She shakes her head. “Being Supergirl.”

His lip quirks back up, small and just on one side as he looks up at her growing-out hair before looking back down to meet her gaze. “You’ll always be Supergirl,” he says, talking through her scoff. “But it’s gotta be tough going from saving the world to flunking algebra.”

El scoffs. “I am not flunking!” she says, indignant. “I have a C!”

“Hell yeah, Supergirl!” he says, beaming as he reaches over the console to slap his hand against hers.

“Max has helped.”

Steve hums, sits, and waits to see if she has anything else to say, but she’s a water balloon, recently emptied, so she stays quiet.

He starts the car and drives.

It isn’t until he’s pulling up to her house, Hopper standing on the porch with crossed arms and a glare on his face that she speaks. “It is hard,” she says.

Steve nods, staring out into the dark woods like he’s expecting something to come barreling out of it. “I know,” he says. “Walkie me if you want me to kidnap you to go beat the shit out of the trees with me or something.”

El smiles, feels the way it stretches her cheeks almost painfully with the force of it. “Thank you, Steve,” she says, hopping out of his car with a wave.

She walks up to her house, ready now, to meet her destiny; even if her destiny is being yelled at by an overprotective Father and grounded for three weeks.

It’s still hard, but it’s a little easier when it’s shared with a friend.

Father Like Daughter (Yandere William James Moriarty and his darling having a genius daughter)

Omg I just had the funniest picture in my mind…

So after the Moriarty children run away their whole thing is basically to try and stop more people from dying and instead offer them a second chance.

When living back home Marguerite was the most athletic of all the kids besides Madeline, and she was good at a number of things, Jack taught her fist to fist fighting, she taught herself archery, her father took her horseback riding, and then Moran and probably James as well taught her how to shoot a gun…

So I am just picturing that during a mission similar to the Jack the Ripper mission (but not that one cause honestly the kids would have stayed out of that mess) and Moran and James are scouting out and right before Moran fires a bullet comes down right on the barrel of the gun and bends the metal in a way that would make it impossible to fire. Then tracking the line of fire where the bullet came from they just see Marguerite in a nearby window and she doesn’t see that they noticed her cause she seems to be talking to someone and then when she does notice that they are looking at her it is just an oh shit moment and she just slings the gun over her shoulder and grabs the other person, presumably Hyacinth or Madeline, by the hand and runs out of whatever room they are in.

Now they have to go back and tell William that they failed the mission because Albert’s teenage daughter managed to destroy the barrel of his gun.

Meanwhile Albert’s darling is laughing her ass off at the image of her daughter knocking a bunch of grown men down a peg.

I finished hazbin hotel last night, and while it was mostly not very good, the finale was decent.

This has nothing to do with tdau, but what’s your opinion on the hazbin/helluva boss franchise? (If you have one)

keep in mind i never finished hazbin: i think the majority of it is cheap shock humour like south park except its not even trying to say anything, its just trying to be edgy for the sake of being edgy. one of my friends really likes it and even he admits it sucks at points. we both like sir pentious but ive heard hes literally a caricature of one of vivs ex friends she hates and wanted to make fun off. i hate how the only lesbian is vaggie. i liked vox, and think his musical number with alastor was the only good one, although i only watched the first two episodes. my friend who likes hazbin also thinks all the musical numbers suck, however, so ive got it on good authority from a smart man who i trust the opinion of (love you bestie if you want me to continue watching for you i will xx)

helluva boss, even though i only watched season 1 (maybe an episode or two from season 2), was a lot better than hazbin. it was funnier (i really love brandon rogers' work. when i heard him do the bryce voice for katie killjoy i was excited bc i thought his involvement meant hazbin was gonna be a lot better than the pilot. it was not) the animation was SLIGHTLY less overdone (from what ive seen thats not even true anymore) even though i didnt really care for most of the characters i did like a couple (blitzo is your classic brandon rogers "asshole with problems you sympathise with before they remind you theyre an asshole". fizzarolli and asmodeus were VERY cute and alex brightman is a talented VA)

i think the fact she got kesha, a SINGER, to voice a character, but ONLY THE SPEAKING VOICE, is literally the dumbest thing ive ever heard in my life. it makes me so goddamn angry. if you couldnt afford her to sing, get someone else. dont get a SINGER to voice a character who SINGS but NOT VOICE THEM SINGING. Today's post is thematically a bit of a follow-up to yesterday's post, in a way. You see, I'd seen a bunch of new pics of Katy Perry promoting her new stuff, and honestly I think this is the hottest I've ever seen Katy Perry. Like, fuckkkkkk. And I was immediately going to post her. And then I decided not to, because I read some things that changed my mind. You see her new album is produced by Dr. Luke and we all know what an asshole that guy is. Kesha fans certainly do. Kesha fans know how he completely derailed her life for years and years and years and how painful and difficult her fight against him was. And as a major Kesha fan, when I heard that Katy Perry had chosen to work with Dr. Luke again I was horrified and outraged and decided not to post her, even tho that line down the right side of this picture where her bikini strap digs into her body is the kind of thing I could write a dissertation about. With a significant appendix about dark nipples and loosely woven fabric. But back to what I was saying... yesterday's post about Charli XCX and her supposed feud with Lorde made me realize how once again I was just buying into the drama that's being sold to me where I can't like Katy AND Kesha because clearly Katy is evil for working with a loathsome man and so she's clearly trying to screw Kesha over. That's definitely a juicy story that would make some asshole money. It could even be true! We definitely don't know tho. We do know that Katy has a similar multi-album deal with the asshole, committed to many more albums with him. The kind of deal that prevented Kesha from releasing music for almost a decade. So even that fact makes it clear how much this isn't the black & white situation that the "pit women against each other" gang wants us to believe. I have no idea what the truth is, but I know it's complicated and grey and I'm completely certain that the bad guy in all of this is... the guy. Dr. Luke is the bad guy. And yet, the narrative is that we're supposed to blame Katy Perry. Right. Nice try guys—I'm not gonna do it. Today's girlcrushart guardian is Katy Perry.
