Yeah lol there's tons of it. Casca's sure not wearing these pants because they're comfortable, this is yeast infection territory here:

There's bathing scenes, eroticized rape scenes, gratuitous sex scenes, every woman's tits defy gravity, every woman has an hourglass figure, the Eclipse rape is 90% fanservice which, if you want a concrete reason beyond 'just look at it,' you can note how Casca's scars vanish for maximum sexiness. The story opens on Guts fucking a hot blonde chick and then killing her when she turns into a monster lmao. etc etc.

I'm assuming we're talking about the sexy women kind of fanservice for straight men, which is def the majority of the sexy fanservice in Berserk, but Griffith also gets fanservicey at times to be fair, eg the 'forgot my urge to kill' scene. There's also Puck's ass everywhere, and like, Miura has said that he wrote Serpico and Roderick to cater to women lol.

There's also other kinds of nerdy fanservice, like overlong implausibly cool fight scenes. Or like Casca cutting her hair and putting on a fighter's outfit after waking up, in a way intended to evoke that 'yay she's back' reaction, or the Golden Age scenes we saw while journeying through her mind. Scenes that exist mainly to make the audience go 'I remember that thing, nice reference.' Or like, the volume cover where Griffith looks like Ryo Devilman.

And like not all fanservice is automatically bad. I think even the unrealistically sexy women category can have a useful tonal impact on a story lol, like sometimes it adds to the cheesiness and that's okay and makes it more fun. Especially when it goes both ways, and we get naked Griffith every few chapters too.

Berserk gets really inappropriate with it sometimes (sexy rape we're meant to take seriously being the worst offender lbr, alongside the occasional creepy Schierke scene), and other times it just feels wrong tonally (eg Casca crying about Guts fighting monsters while her tits are not only out but with eye-catchingly bright and shiny nipples during the Wyald fight) but overall it's just part of the vibe imo. Especially through like the first half or so of the manga it has that 80s movie cheesiness and I kinda dig it personally.

And to be really fair Berserk falls into that 'not as bad as it could be' category where Miura pulled back from fanservice in favour of realism at times, which gives it a fairly decent balance imo, yk, for what it is and the audience it's aimed at. Like Casca's lack of titty armour, Farnese's unsexy and practical traveling clothes, that kind of thing. Compared to a lot of manga aimed at straight dudes Berserk can come across as downright modest. But that says more about the genre's baseline as a whole than it does about Berserk lol.

I think mine is too. Actually just my whole torso but not so much my boobs - I gain in my upper arms, tummy, back and hips (and also my face). Those also lose first. Then my legs are just permanently like… idk lol yk my ancestors evidently survived a lot of pogroms and genocides and famines and shit so I think it’s that “let’s have some reserves for the famine” body type like they’re never gonna look like Kaia Gerber or Cara Delevingne’s legs. They’re just not. My boobs are pretty consistently just pretty big - they’re not like INSANELY huge but they’re pretty big and they stay consistent so props to them for doing that. hi i had another idea regarding the splat 1 campaign of the tsh (trigger splatty havoc) au.

i really really want to make taka agent 3 because i feel like?? he fits so well?? so here’s what i’m thinking (spoilers below cut in case i ever bother making this into a fic and you wanna read it for some reason)

(and also because it’s really fuckin long and incoherent)

the great turf war ended a little differently- yes it was still inklings and octolings at war with each other, but the leader of the inklings ended up getting assassinated in an incredibly petty way. the octopus who carried out said assassination was toranosuke, a high-class general in the octarian army. while inkling society shunned him further, the octarians praised him for taking out the opposition’s leader.

now, toranosuke would slowly start to rise to further power, and after only a short period of time, would become the new leader of the octarians. his quote unquote son, takaaki, was uh. kind of sorta disturbed by his father’s actions, but oh well, life is looking good for him!

until a rogue inkling soldier from the new squidbeak splatoon infiltrates the base, and takaaki falls head over heels for her. inkling and octoling cross-reproduction probably works pretty differently, but regardless, taka somehow pops into existence. and all hell breaks loose.

not only did the son of the entire octarian race produce a child with an inkling, but that child was an inkling himself! furious, toranosuke pretty much kicked his son and grandson out, and ordered for taka’s mom to be splatted on sight. takaaki obviously didn’t have a great time in inkopolis, being an octarian. yk. so he and taka lived in a very low class type area you know the rest.

now when taka turns sixteen, fully mature (he’s got that octarian blood in him, so it took a bit longer for him to cook) he was strolling around inkopolis plaza when he noticed a head peeping from one of those manholes. curiosity got the better of him, and he followed, ending up in a place known as octo valley. standing (or rather, sitting) in front of him were two inklings around his age, and more importantly, from the most famous band and idol group in all of inkopolis. (i’m going to be using squid sisters as a placeholder whenever it comes up)

junko and mukuro, two child prodigies in the performing field - and part of the squid sisters, seemed like they were anticipating someone to finally follow them into octo valley. that someone “just so happened” to be taka, “coincidentally” the grandson of the current leader.

what happens next is very similar to the original campaign- junko and mukuro go under the disguise of wanting to get revenge for squidkind after their leader was killed all those years ago, and with the help of a few other recruits (whom i’ll elaborate on later) work to take down the octarians from the inside out.

midway through the campaign, a challenge “level” would appear, in which agent 3 (taka) - (side note, why is he agent 3 if there’s 5 other agents before him? could this have been planned?)

…anyway, in which taka only has a single life, so to speak. the respawn point stopped working, because oh no, the octarians stole the great zapfish! whatever will we do!

so now, for each progressing mission, taka has fewer lives to respawn with, making him extra careful. but also… suspicious. wouldn’t it have been easier for the octarians to take their power source at the beginning? why did junko and mukuro call him and explain with great detail what happened, only a couple minutes after it did? did they contact the other agents, whoever they are? why on earth hasn’t he met them yet?

near the end of the campaign, after a rough encounter with one of the great octoweapons, taka is temporarily put out of commission, and taken care of by two other recruits- agents four and five. one of them has her tentacles tied in this ridiculous, gravity defying bun, and the other has her’s cut off at the ends, just above her waist. hm, these descriptions definitely don’t sound like another duo of gals from danganronpa who do have some form of relationship, one who likes to swim and one who probably enjoys ace attorney…

so- when taka finally faces off against his grandfather, he’s confused as to where this fabled great zapfish is. everything is working fine power wise, so what could have been the motivation?

thing is, this time at least, there was no motivation- because toranosuke didn’t take the zapfish. but you know who did? junko and mukuro, duh.

turns out, these two have been working as double agents, giving toranosuke information on taka’s (and the other two recruits’) whereabouts, all for the sake of being promised some rule over inkopolis. in fact, junko’s plan was never about “getting revenge for their assassinated leader”, but rather, getting others to take down the octarian army (including mukuro) so she could have complete power over both races. and why steal the zapfish? well, with no power, no one can respawn, tell others what’s happening, all that stuff- and what’s more despairing than that?

and then, on basically the verge of death, taka starts to hear a very familiar folksong, only this time, much more upbeat and lively. almost immediately, he recognizes the song as the calamari inkantation. but it’s not junko and mukuro, you know- the idol group of inkopolis plaza playing it, but rather, those two other recruits he had met! and yeah it’s hina and kyoko. who would have thunk. they work really well as callie and marie, ok?

in the end, those two help taka defeat not only his grandfather, but also junko and mukuro, returning the zapfish in the process. i don’t know if i want to have taka splat (see: literally kill) his own grandfather, but i do know he traps junko and mukuro in a snow globe. they’re getting the octavio treatment lmao.

kyoko and hina maintain their relationship, working on and off together with performing covers of songs. honestly, they both really enjoyed it- taka helps out sometimes as well, but for now, that’s all any of them want of being secret agents.

that pretty much brings octo valley to an end!

i did forget to mention that other agent- what was his name, agent 6? yuki… something? i think he had a role with some kind of rebellion group- last i heard, their leader got splatted after trying to rebel during toranosuke’s defeat, and everyone else either had a similar fate, or ran away… speaking of ran away, one of those elite engineers also went missing - i wonder what happened to her?

oh well, maybe someday we’ll know.

i can finally do this post now all sparrow academy character designs have dropped yes............since the comics only actually show 4 members' powers and we've yet to have the vol.4 comic, here's my best guess with what we have :}

NO. 1: MARCUS, his power is most likely super strength to parallel Luther, except without the ape body, but I wonder if they'll add any factors to using his superpower instead of just. fist go boom yk

NO. 2: BEN does not exist in the Sparrow Academy in the comics, so I have no idea as to who he's supposed to mirror, or if he's just going to be an entirely new character

NO. 3: FEI is most definitely the one who can turn herself into a flock of ravens. Her birds, the claw marks over her eyes, like it literally has to be her lmao. Really looking forward to see if they'll delve into how she got those scars, like maybe how as a child she couldn't fully control the ravens etcetc

NO. 4: ALPHONSO is another obvious one; 'empathetic masochism' is a word i had to google so he inflicts pain on himself to damage others, which I'm almost certain will lead to having a Reginald Hargreeves traumatized childhood like Klaus's (hurting himself on missions, putting himself through extreme pain during training, the likes)

NO. 5: SLOANE; this one's a stretch. When I mentioned only 4 members showing their power Sloane was the one I excluded on this list. I'm guessing her power is something related to defying gravity/levitation etc, and in this panel the only humans floating are Marcus/No. 1 and the other girl. Although the other members also float in the other panels, so. no real concrete ideas here

NO. 6: JAYME is less of a reach, but still not as on the nose as Fei or Alphonso. Judging by the sludge in her background I'm guessing she's the one who. well I don't know how to word this. vomits sludge to repel enemies? Her character description also includes the line "doesn't say much because she doesn't have to" which lends well to the theory that she can expel sludge when she opens her mouth instead of having to use her words

NO. 7: CHRISTOPHER is the cube. It doesn't do anything in the comics either, it's just there, so I'm looking forward to see how they'll give a cube personality and make it a fan favorite (i can already see the ~best sparrow academy member~ memes like they're literally materializing in front of my eyes rn)

Talking about a star wars × Lupin the 3rd au

I mean I can absolutely understand why Lupin seems more invested than Jigen is, it does make sense that him not having had the proper ability to mourn when things had happened and thus being more closed off about it.

I can imagine Jigen is still closed off abt it later but after he's able to sort stuff ot he's not *as* against it as he was in the beginning, yk?

I'm very interested in what Zenigata and Yata thought of the whole ordeal who, like "Oh yeah Jigen can do a whole lotta weird stuff but it's just adrenaline right? It's just adrenaline, right??" (look at me using a star wars meme hehehe) But now if Jigen can use the force a bit more intentionally he might be able to *actually* make bullets follow them around corners, which is quite concerning to think about.

Also because I'm funny (spoiler alert; I'm not) I'm imagining some hijinks with some other force user popping up on earth and chaos ensues, lil thinky think says it's around the time where Jigen re-remembers stuff and maybe Zeni n Yata have seen basic levitation stuff, so they hear about someone that people can't describe properly defying gravity and they're like "Sounds like Jigen" and then turns out Nope, it's a completely different person with space magic.

Absolutely, he is more open about what growing up a Jedi was like. The room of 1000 fountains, the Archives, the Creches where initiates were raised, the Twilek Creche Padawan, Ara Stlarr that was a few years older then him that would help him with his school, his friends he had, the lightsaber competitions....

Listen, when the gunman that can already make impossible shots starts moving things with his mind, you tell yourself whatever you have too in order to not have a small freak out. So yes, they tell themselves it was just adrenaline, or a trick of the light, or one of Lupin's plans, but deep down inside, they know.

Well Jigen is going to learn how to control bullets that way now!

Lead me not into temptation, because I am barely resisting tossing my Jedi OCs into this. I honestly wouldn't use any of the "main stream/canon" Jedi because we already know what they are doing. So this would give us an opportunity to explore the other parts of the Jedi Order, like my Healer, Aria Sheni, or the aforementioned Creche Padawan, Ara Stlarr.
