Personally I like to think that Molly's soul shard was just floating around the Astral Sea and managed to reconnect to the body, tying into Aabria/Deanna's description of her soul being like a snowflake that melted into an ocean. Molly's soul shard floating down so so gently like a snowflake and melting back into his old body. Struggling to separate itself from that vast Astral Sea. Idk, the visual of that is so ephemeral and delicious to me

aHHH Aabria's description of death and resurrection was so good and chilling, I find it just fascinating. And it's so interesting to think of Mollymauk in that context. It makes me wonder...does that mean Molly was this part of Lucien's soul that was able to endure as their own distinct entity, maintained just enough of a sense of self and identity to keep from getting swept away in the Astral Sea? Even if they still lost all their memories in the process? Lucien's will to live maybe, or his heart, some core part of him that was torn away, yet couldn't be broken.

I adore the image of Molly's soul as this drifting snowflake that flutters back down to Exandria, it's just...so very sweet and heartwarming to me. Reminds me of the latest episode when the Matron said, "The substance of the soul is forever. It will find its way." A little shard of a soul drifting through the Astral Sea, lost and wayward, but eventually finding their way back home.

I really like that, it feels so much more comforting than what I was thinking. I always found it interesting that Taliesin expected Mollymauk to be undead this whole time, and was surprised in the wrap up when Matt told him otherwise.

It always kinda made me feel like Taliesin expected Molly's resurrection to be unnatural--someone who wasn't truly alive, who was more akin to a Hollow One (I think Matt even mentioned he intended the Hollow Ones to be a red herring for Mollymauk's background...?) And the fact that Lucien died in the cursed Savalirwood and Molly was reborn under a Ruidus flare both struck me as very odd, I always wondered if they contributed to his resurrection in some way. (Or being fate touched. Or maybe even it was just the Moonweaver looking out for him--)

But I would just love to hear Taliesin talk more one day about?? What he initially assumed happened when Molly first woke up? I can't get over him saying that Molly was intended to be this tragic being without soul, like those old merfolk tales, this notion that, "I want a body where the soul left, and the body just kept moving. Whatever was in there got pulled out, and went to the Raven Queen. And they just kept walking, like a mermaid–no soul….just someone who was a total blank slate.”

It makes it all the more intriguing to me that Matt went in a completely different direction--Molly not undead, but alive. Perhaps feeling Empty at first, a shard of a soul, but a piece that was loved so much they became whole--

On one hand I do understand why Dragon Age fans are angry. On the other I literally cannot relate and I think Bioware should double down. No no hear me out. Hear me out listen to me.

Unfortunately they cannot pull the funniest move they could if they hadn't been idiots but they can pull a slightly less funny move.

They cannot pull a classical "this is your government assigned ex" situation because they themselves locked themselves out of that house.

But they CAN still pull a government assigned ex situation with extra steps that nobody would like and that'd make no sense but that would nonetheless be really fucking funny.

They shouldn't but they could and they should in a "it'd be funny" way just double down. Remove the option to customise your past Inquisitor. Make the Inquisitor a female elf with no Vallaslin and nothing you can do about it. Gaslight you about it. Make the default world state solavellan. Make that unchangeable. Refuse to elaborate. Leave.

Nobody would like that and it would have no upsides at all.

But it'd be really really funny.

Well, I finished 1-1 of TGAA, and my verdict is, this is gay as hell and I took like 45+ screenshots, I could make a diagram comparing Ryunosuke's first case and Phoenix's (they're the defendant, Dollie & Brett parallels including how the prosecution caters to them, etc).

I love how Ryunosuke developed throughout the trial from awkwardly raising his hand bc he's literally never been in a courtroom before, to learning how to hit the table the right way, to going a little feral when hunting for contradictions. I love how his posture goes from ramrod straight to completely bent over the desk like he is one bad comment away from scrambling on top of it and biting the prosecution/witnesses. He is baring his teeth and growling, a trait very common among AA protagonists.

I'm happy to realize that he's just as dramatic in his internal (and external) dialogue as Phoenix is. I also thought it was funny how he cared more about when the outcome of his trial affected Kazuma than when it was his own life on the line, god forbid his friend lose his trip abroad when he himself could literally be sentenced for murder. Hilarious, no notes.

The interesting thing about it is that at the first glance it really seems like Kankri’s losing it over nothing. Which, to be fair, he kind of is. Porrim was just being nice to Karkat. But his reaction becomes... actually understandable, given later on we find out that Porrim has no respect for Kankri’s personal boundaries, like trying to touch him, which is the only real instance of us seeing Kankri lose his composure.

And of course the nickname thing, as well as the sweater thing.

And then acts pale toward him at the first opportunity:

An idea he finds uncomfortable. Like any other potential romantic relationship with her.

So while he is overreacting in that one conversation with Karkat present, he’s also doing this, because Porrim apparently never took his “no” for an answer, so he clearly has to repeat himself over and over again.

i go back and forth on rin's elemental nature. i really think fire suits her for thematic parallels to sasuke reasons and also i just think fire is cool and suits her whole. perception of her self and being weird about purpose deal. but water is also cool because i think rin deserves to bloodbend. elaine kind of beat symbolism where she controls other people to try and come to terms with how she can't control herself. the way to resolve this is to take the path of "nature can warp under stress or whatever" and let rin's og nature be fire, so she has that in the entire og timeline and also the team 7 sensei au (good because those are the ones where the sasuke parallels are the Strongest) and then in the akatsuki!rin au the whole almost dying thing somehow leads to her nature changing to water. which works well because that's the au where she is the weirdest about control and also masks. 👍
