i feel like i need a glossary of terms or a contact list for all these people involved with the show. i have shit memory and dont pay attention to the credits who is sera (sara??) and why does everyone hate her!! why is he Bobo!!!!!! please... has anyone posted about this im desperate

lol well including everyone involved with the show would be difficult, but I’ll give you some highlights

Eric Kripke: creator of Supernatural, showrunner for seasons 1-5. People have differing opinions about him but general people enjoyed his run and he’s considered the best showrunner in the series overall. Not much to say because there’s a lot to say lmao (notable episodes: “Pilot,” “Lazarus Rising,” and “Swan Song”)

Sera Gamble: writer who was involved from the beginning of the show, became showrunner after Kripke left. Her seasons, 6 and 7, are typically regarded as the weakest seasons. She was a huge brothers-only supporter, and was responsible for Misha being written out of the show (as well as Jim Beaver, Bobby) in order to get the show to just be about the brothers again. There’s a lot of drama regarding her treatment of Misha/Cas, but more recently she’s known for the Magicians debacle, a horrendous example of the Bury Your Gays trope. She’s also involved with (the showrunner of?) You on Netflix. She was a pretty good writer, but overall fans dislike her because of her showrunning tenure (notable episodes: “Faith” with Raelle Tucker, “Death’s Door,” “The Born-Again Identity”)

Jeremy Carver: writer from season 3 that was promoted to showrunner from seasons 8 through.... some time in 12, the timeline has been a little murky to me. He was the one who brought Cas back into the main plot, as well as allowing the deancas storyline to become genuine subtext (we can argue whether it was queerbaiting or what he was intending to do if he had been running the series finale, but yeah). Unfortunately, he was also the showrunner when Charlie was killed off brutally, which dampens his legacy. People are conflicted about his seasons, but generally he’s looked upon favorably (not related, but the picture that comes up when you search him on google is NOT him, he’s really like a typical white nerdy looking dude lol) (notable episodes: “The Rapture,” “Sacrifice,” “Do You Believe in Miracles?”)

Andrew Dabb: writer from season 4, promoted to showrunner during season 12 and is the last showrunner of Supernatural (he wrote the finale). He was well-liked by deancas fans for awhile because of how much screentime they were allowed to give, and because of the focus on extended/found family. Sam and Dean only fans didn’t like him for the same reasons. Unfortunately, HIS legacy has been marred by the awful series finale, though it’s debated whether that was his fault or because of network meddling. (notable episodes: “Dark Side of the Moon” with Daniel Loflin, “The Prisoner,” “Moriah”)

Robert Singer: executive producer since the beginning of the show (he’s also co-showrunner throughout Supernatural, but I don’t think he typically was involved with the plotlines too often). He’s directed quite a few episodes, including the infamous wire fight episode (s13 finale) as well as the series finale. Married to Eugenie Ross-Leming, writer of the show

Eugenie Ross-Leming/Brad Buckner: writing partners TECHNICALLY from season 1, but they only wrote one episode until they were brought back in season 7. They are regarded as the worst writers in all of Supernatural, responsible for tactless death scenes of fan-favorites (and typically minorities) like Kevin, Charlie, and Eileen. They also feature a gross amount of dubcon/noncon, racism, weird unnecessary sex stuff, and are SUPER into Lucifer for some unknown reason (they have a crush on Mark Pellegrino I guess). They’re also just kind of bad writers in general, their pacing is weird and their plots convoluted. To be fair, though, they have written some good moments, like Dean trying to reach Cas in Hell’s Angel and Dean’s confessional scene in Paint It Black. But overall, they suck. Why are they still on the show even though BOTH sides of the fandom (who never agree on ANYTHING) dislike them? Well, because Eugenie is married to Singer. Nepotism. (notable episodes, the ones I can stand to watch lmao: “Holy Terror,” “Hell’s Angel,” “Our Father Who Aren’t in Heaven”)

Ben Edlund: writer from season 2 who left after season 8, but people STILL talk about him simply because he is arguably the strongest writer of the series. Cas fans particularly like him because he did most of the heavy-lifting regarding Cas’ characterization. He also wrote the famous bi!Dean scene with Aaron in season 8, where Dean is flustered after being flirted with. (notable episodes: “On the Head of a Pin,” “The French Mistake,” and my all-time favorite “The Man Who Would Be King”)

Robert “Bobo” Berens: writer from season 9, his first episode was “Heaven Can’t Wait,” which is all you really need to know about his influence on the deancas storyline. He’s also gay, so people particularly enjoy seeing how he approaches destiel in his episodes since it’s not just another straight guy potentially just catering to fans. He was also the one who was meant to go off and run Wayward Sisters, and is responsible for a lot of their development in recent seasons. I believe he also created Rowena? He wrote the episode this season where Cas confesses his love to Dean (along with other heavy deancas episodes like “The Trap”). Sam fans typically don’t like him because he doesn’t give him much focus. (notable episodes: “Heaven Can’t Wait,” “Who We Are,” “Wayward Sisters” with Andrew Dabb)

Steve Yockey: writer from season 12 through the beginning of season 15. Also gay, and also responsible for deancas moments in recent years. Generally loved for his deancas subtext but ALSO because he is an amazing writer who came out with iconic episodes. (notable episodes: “Celebrating the Life of Asa Fox,” “Lily Sunder Has Some Regrets,” “Peace of Mind” with Meghan Fitzmartin)

Robbie Thompson: writer from seasons 7 through 11, and wrote some fan favorite episodes in the meantime. He is also the creator of fan favorite characters like Charlie and Eileen. He was also one of the few writers who was vocally supportive of destiel during his tenure rather than just later. I’m not implying anything about his intentions, but it was validating for him to encourage fans during a time where most of the cast/crew ignored or actively dismissed it. Plus his episodes are just fun! (notable episodes: “LARP and the Real Girl,” “Fan Fiction,” “Baby”)

Meredith Glynn: writer since season 12, has worked closely with Bobo during their seasons together. She and Bobo cowrote “The Future,” which is the mixtape episode, so she has been taken in by deancas fans haha. She also wrote the episode where Cas makes the deal with the Empty, so it’s pretty safe to say she and Bobo had worked on the deancas plotline together :) She’s also liked some deancas-related tweets on twitter, so she’s being subtly supportive (notable episodes: “Regarding Dean,” “The Future” with Robert Berens, “Byzantium”)

Davy Perez: writer since season 12 (a lot of the ones I’ve mentioned are, since this is when Dabb became showrunner and made changes in the writers room). His episodes tend to either be horror or bizarre. I mention him because he’s responsible for episodes like “Stuck in the Middle (With You)” (Cas’ first “I love you”) and “Tombstone” (aka Brokebacknatural lmao). I don’t know much about him otherwise, but that’s why he’s brought up usually (notable episodes: “Stuck in the Middle (With You),” “Tombstone,” “Atomic Monsters”)

hopefully this helps, and hopefully I didn’t forget about anyone major. There have been a LOT of people behind the scenes so it’s hard to say who to include. Like, I didn’t mention Jerry Wanek, Jim Michaels, Kim Manners, Thomas J. Wright, or others who might be mentioned from time to time.

whats the difference between s2 and s13 spencer in the terms of asking u to spit or swallow, i feel like s2 would just ramble like u dont have to and s13 would just TELL u-🐙

yeah i think it’s fair to say early seasons spencer is a little shy and a bit insecure and that that would extend to the bedroom. so i think he’d be quite shy in asking for what he wanted, and he’d probably feel grateful that you were sucking him off at all 🥺

but then as he matures and grows to feel more comfortable in asking for what he wants he’d have boundaries set up with you ahead of time, so that when you went down on him he wouldn’t even have to tell you what he wanted (unless the commands were part of the fun) and you’d just swallow automatically 😳

@sapphichymns Its 3 specials: New Year's, Spring and Autumn. For all my sadness of Chibs leaving, I'm glad he seems certain this is the story he wants to tell and not just staying with no direction of where to go.

Also, that actually makes me happy because i don’t have to be sad watching S13 knowing it’ll be the last i’ll see of this creative team and 13. It’d suck to have that hanging over the season. Plus, she will get 3 full seasons then, technically, i guess. We got back what covid took.

I was mostly just shocked when i saw the headline because I was under the impression Chibnall had a 5 year plan of some sort that’d take 5 seasons to play out, so i expected him to so s14 and 15 and then leave, but apparently it was legit 5 years in Time real world??? Not a season a year making 5 years.

If he’s done, that’s fair, he’s always been honest that he has a story to tell and that’s what he’s going to do and that he’d planned it all out, i just didn’t expect him to do it so quickly.

You knew there was a reason some divine power brought you to the Winchesters all those years ago, but to this day you still have no idea what that reason is. It's something you're destined to find out soon though, especially when you return to the bunker after months away and find not only a new face, but one that belongs to someone who up until that point you'd thought was dead. What does his return have to do with the changes you're suddenly experiencing in yourself? Will you finally find out the reason you'd been brought here in the first place? Maybe...

“Honeys, I’m home!”

The bunker has the same light aroma of musty air and metal as you let yourself in through the heavy front door, feet carrying you, out of habit more than anything, to the steel landing that marks the entrance to the fortress. It’s been so long since you were last here that the two men you used to hunt with regularly have likely forgotten they gave you a spare key. Well, they hadn’t exactly given it to you so much as you’d made a copy on the down-low and kept it for occasions such as this.

One hand keeps pressure on your arm, an attempt to stem the bleeding, and the other carries your single carry-on bag. You make it about halfway down the stairs before your gaze swings out over the foyer and you freeze, mid-step.

Sam and Dean, the two figures you expected to find here, are standing stock-still with their guns half-poised (not directed at you) and expressions on their faces that are a combination of shocked, pissed, and extremely confused (mostly directed at you). Following the line of their weapons leads you to the other two occupants in the room, most definitely unexpected and completely unfamiliar.

One is in rags, cowering, and whimpering, unrecognisable underneath filthy tangled hair that covers his face, and the other is in a prim suit marred only by blood and a bit of dirt, barely a single strand of dark hair atop his head out of place.

“Twinkletoes? What the hell are you doing here?!”

It’s Dean’s stupid, old nickname for you that breaks you out of your shock, a glare already falling onto your face with the practised ease of muscle memory.

“I’ll answer that when you tell me what the hell I just walked in on—” You come the rest of the way down the stairs, slower and more cautious now, with your gaze trained on the two at the other end of the table. It’s when the man in rags finally looks up from where he had been cowering and you catch a glimpse of his face, bloody and bruised but instantly familiar, that your words swell and catch in your throat.

“… Gabriel?”

The brothers in front of you heave a great, unanimous sigh, a look passed between them telling you that you’re about to be on the receiving end of a very ludicrous and typical Winchester story.

The first time you met Gabriel was not long after you’d gone through the biggest plot twist of your entire life. You’d gone to sleep in your bed, in your home, and woken up in a completely different part of the world, like some magician had snapped their fingers and you’d been the punchline of their very next trick. Much to your regret and distaste, some minor investigation revealed that where you’d woken up in the backseat of a car on the side of the road was in some state in the US. You’d sworn to yourself that you would never step foot here in your entire life and then, like God or whoever reigned above was laughing straight in your face, you’d just up and woken up in some random car in a place that made you long to be literally anywhere else.

Preferably somewhere where the occupants didn’t have such easy access to guns.

…like the two men who screamed and pointed theirs at you when you popped up from their backseat after they climbed into the cabin, fast food in their arms.

That was the first time you’d met the infamous hunting brothers, the Winchesters, and the first time of many you’d nearly died in their company.

It had taken a while for them to trust you, but after you inviting yourself onto a few of their cases and saving their asses a handful of times (ignoring the amount of times they saved yours because you forgot that almost every American slept with a gun beneath their pillow) they’d eventually taken you under their proverbial wing. It helped that you had literally nowhere else to go and nothing but the clothes on your back and a bare handful of belongings to your name. Once they figured out you weren’t hiding anything up your sleeve and that you’re just naturally annoying and a little dumb, they’d happily invited you to become an official-unofficial part of their little hunting gang. This means you’re also familiar with the hilarious angel they have in their back pocket. Castiel is a riot and one of the things you miss most when you go off to hunt on your own.

Having been around during the whole ordeal of Lucifer and Michael going through the motions of continuing their family spat on an apocalyptic scale, you too grew to be familiar with their youngest brother, the archangel Gabriel. Of course, while you’d been there for a fair amount of the angel-turned-trickster’s shenanigans, you weren’t there for the final appearance he made at a hotel in the middle of butt-fuck nowhere. In complete juxtaposition to the fact that you could count on one hand the amount of times you’d interacted properly with Gabriel, the sensations you experienced at the news of his sacrifice, his death, were unlike anything you’d ever felt before. You like to consider yourself much more emotionally healthy and with an emotional range far larger than that of a teaspoon and the Winchesters’, but that… that news was something that it had taken you months to recover from fully.

And even then, apparently your recovery wasn’t as complete as you’d thought, because hearing what the boys have told you now has made your eyes burn and your stomach turn into a nest of manic bees, your insides lined with flowers and pollen. You think, for a moment, that you just might be sick.

You’re sitting in the library, Gabriel having been taken to a room of his own by one Winchester while the other fills you in before they’re both reunited before you, and you’re in the kind of mood where you sort of want to just sit there and dissociate for a few hours, truthfully. You can tell you’re not going to get that opportunity though, so in the wake of the bombshell they’d just dropped on you about all you’d missed in the past few months—that they had apparently forgotten to tell you over the phone when you checked in occasionally— you do the next best thing you can think of for the moment.

Put it on the backburner, baby.

You massage your temple with your fingers as you lean your head into your hand, a sigh escaping through your nose. “See, this is why it feels like I have been brought on as a babysitter—I leave for a few months and you old men manage to dig up another almost-apocalypse and find and raise Lucifer’s kid?”

“Alright, first of all,” Dean whips out a finger to point at you, filling you with glee. You’ve barely been back a few hours and already you’re stepping back into your favourite “stir-the absolute-shit-out-of-Dean” pants. As always, he is almost pitifully quick to rise to the bait. “Old? Who are you calling old? Alright so maybe we have a few years on you but that’s just because you’re a toddler and w—”

“Dean,” Sam places a placating hand on his brother’s shoulder, a look that seems to be a mixture of amusement and exasperation crossing his features. “You’re making it too easy for her.”

The older Winchester pauses, turning to pin you with an accusing look. You smile, not even attempting to appear innocent. After staring at you for several long moments, Dean makes the ‘eyes-on-you’ gesture with his fingers before turning away, rolling the tension from his shoulders as he takes a seat across from you.

“You were gone for almost a year this time, did you have any luck, well, leaving?” Sam brings your attention back to him, the question dragging out a sigh that feels like it’s been dredged from the very depths of your being.

“No,” you answer, sounding somewhat petulant even to your own ears. “Why is it so hard to leave this god-forsaken country! I hate it here. I’m sick of trying to make a run for it and being zapped back into a swamp, or—or a pool at the top of a penthouse suite in the middle of some random city! It sucks balls.”

“Yeah, yeah, yeah,” Dean waves his hand, enjoying the dirty look you give him. “So you still haven’t found whatever purpose you’re meant to fulfil while here?”

You huff, shaking your head. “No. It’s been years and I still have no idea why I woke up here that day. Or why I can’t leave.”

Over the time you’ve spent with the Winchesters, a few things became apparent to the three of you about your stay here. One, it was indefinite. You’d discovered quickly that you are, quite literally, unable to leave. Every time you get close to escaping this country you black out and wake up back inside. Sometimes in a helpful place, sometimes…. Not.

Two, the three of you had thrown around and entertained the idea that maybe you’d been brought here for a reason, that like them maybe you’d been divinely allocated a role to play. But you’ve been through a lot with the Winchesters, whether in person or by association, and still…

You’re no closer to being able to leave and return from whence you came.

You have no idea why you’re here!

This is something that has really contributed to your temporary career as a hunter here. That isn’t to say that this profession isn’t something you were involved in before you came here, but you’ve really… you really dove into it, whether as a distraction or as an ongoing investigation as to what on earth was going to set you free of your tie to this place. A part of you thinks that each case you take on, each person or family you save and creature you slay might be the one reason that brought you here, and the one task that with its completion will grant you freedom. You’ve never been a fan of being caged; just because this one spans a grand total of 9.834 million square kilometres doesn’t make it any less of one.

This most recent expedition that led you to part from the Winchesters for such a long time was another of your failed attempts to leave. You think you’ve tried escaping at every possible point along the coastline and border by now, with a definite lack of success.

“Well, if it really is some divine intervention keeping you here, then it’s better if you just sit back and settle down, twinkletoes.” Dean huffs a laugh, leaning back in his chair with an accompanying creak from the wood. “Those divine types have proven to be… kind of assholes.”

You frown, but he isn’t saying anything you haven’t already thought. It’s part of why you’d settled so easily into hunting here, actually. ‘When in Rome…’, as they say. You’re familiar with the hunting grind and there is comfort in familiarity.

“Are you going to stay a while?” Sam asks, opening the first-aid box he’d first brought over when you’d settled down. Ah, right—you’d almost forgotten about the injury on your arm, despite the fact that you are still pressing a palm to it. You listen as he speaks, almost swearing you can detect a hint of hopefulness in his voice. “You still have a room here for you, of course. We haven’t touched anything inside.”

“Yeah, mostly because we didn’t wanna deal with the mess and the booby-trapped doors—” Dean’s under-the-breath mutter is cut off by your coo, a wide smile pulling your lips.

“Oh, you two missed me, didn’t you?” Instantly, you are successful in ruffling Dean’s feathers— Sam might take a bit more work, though. “I know I really light this dark, dingy place up but I didn’t know it was that bad without me! Ah, perhaps I will stay a while. You know, out of charity.”

“Sammy,” Dean says, beseeching. “It’s not too late—you hold her back and I’ll find her key. It’s not too cold, she’ll be alright outside.”

An appalled and affronted look slips onto your face and Sam has to clear his throat so that he doesn’t laugh and add to his brother’s torment.

“I’m not a misbehaving puppy,” you say, holding your arm out for Sam as he comes over and finally freeing your bloody hand. “Wait, unless you want me to be. Been broadening your horizons beyond animated tentacle porn have you, Deanie-bo-beenie?”

On cue, Dean’s face flushes light red, whether from anger or a brief spritz of embarrassment, only God knows. You can see Sam’s face grow tense from the effort of holding back noise in your peripheral as he tends to your arm.

“You know what? I’m better than this. I’m gonna let it go.” Dean rises from his chair, making a show of dusting off your metaphorical drama. His light eyes flick to you, squinting. “I’m tired; I have a date with my memory foam pillow and nice, warm, feather duvet and a good night’s rest, so goodnight. I hope your bed has bed bugs, twinkletoes, and I hope they bite.”

“I hope you sleep well too, Dean!” you call after him, deciding you’ll have to give him a break from the bullying tomorrow or else he’ll explode before you can have much fun. “Do you want me to come tuck you in?”

“No! Goodnight!”

His yell and disappearance down the hall is followed a few moments later by the familiar sound of a door slamming shut,

“That’s not very fair of you,” Sam announces, sounding strained and very much like he’s trying not to laugh lest Dean has an ear pressed to his door. “He’s too tired to fight back right now.”

“I know,” you answer, wincing as he wipes down the laceration on your bicep and cleans the blood away with an alcohol wipe. It burns, but it’s definitely not the most painful thing you have ever experienced. “I hadn’t seen you guys in so long, though. I couldn’t help myself.”

Sam simply snorts, reaching for the needle and thread to being stitching the skin back together, and you breathe harshly through your nose as you reach for another topic to distract yourself.

“Are the two—sorry, the three of you actually dads now? To… to Lucifer’s half-angel kid? I thought angels getting frisky with humans was, uh… illegal up in heaven.”

You feel rather than see Sam roll his eyes, your own pointedly directed away from your arm where he has begun to get to work. “It’s Lucifer, y/n, I don’t think he cares about what’s illegal up in heaven.”

You purse your lips—he makes a fair point. Honestly, you feel a little silly for questioning it. “Right, and he’s… trapped in some other dimension? An alternate world where the apocalypse really happened.”

“Yep,” Sam says, hitting a particularly painful spot with his needle. You hiss, giving him a glare.

“I wasn’t even gone a year! Just hearing all this shit is stressing me out so much, dude.” You sigh, attempting to adjust your position in the wooden chair without jostling your arm too much. Thankfully, practice has made Sam quick at his job and already he is almost done piecing you back together. He finishes up with a knot, snipping the thread and then placing a large bandage carefully over the wound. He dusts his hands once done, standing from where he was leaning against the table and proceeding to loom over you like a T-Rex.

“You’re blocking my light, bro,” you inform him, narrowly avoiding a subsequent good-natured smack to your good arm. “Damn, what the hell! Didn’t you take an oath or some shit? I’m your patient!”

“I was studying law, not medicine,” Sam retorts dryly. He turns to leave and put the first aid supplies away, his back facing you but not before you see how his lips twitch. “So your annoying ass is free game.”

“Maybe so,” you acquiesce, rising from your seat with a light grunt as you jostle your arm. You consider asking Sam where Castiel is, to see if you can get a hit of the good stuff and skip the healing process, but think better of it. You always feel a bit bad asking him to heal you, though you barely ever have to since he’s like a rabid mother hen the second he sees blood on any of you. “God, I’m beat. I didn’t think I could get any more tired than I was before, but as always catching up with you two has aged me a few years and now I’m just about as tired as you two are all the time.”

Sam doesn’t rise to the ‘old man’ bait you dangle in front of him—never really does, if you’re being honest; that’s mostly Dean’s vice— but he does offer you a smile that is unexpectedly sincere and fond.

“Go to bed, toddler,” he retorts, before continuing in a softer tone, “… It’s good to see you again, y/n. I’m glad you’re here. Dean and Mom are going out on a hunt in the next few days and I think you can really help with, uh… the whole Gabriel thing.”

For a moment, you don’t say anything. You’d sort of been trying to avoid thinking about the elephant in your mind, for the very same reason that makes your eyes burn once more. It hurts, a lot, thinking and imagining what he must have gone through at the hands of Asmodeus. It feels like your heart is going to tear itself to pieces in your chest from the sheer extent of your empathy and how terrible you feel for him. The Gabriel you saw cowering before you earlier is nothing like the confident feathery asshole you used to know.

Even having only seen him once, it’s enough to make you fearful of the possibility that… he might be too far gone to ever return to that last echo of his previous self.

“I’m not sure what I’ll even be able to do to help,” you respond, approaching the doorway to the hall with your bag in tow. You pause to finish what you’re saying, meeting Sam’s puppy-like gaze from across the room. “But I’ll try. It hurts to see him like that, so… I’ll stay a while, to do whatever I can.”

Sam’s answering thankful smile and nod is all you can ask for in response as you turn and head further into the bunker, dragging your bags back to the room you’d come to call your own over the years. Your gaze strays on the way to one of the doors that has a little note taped on saying, ‘please do not open suddenly or loudly’, undoubtedly the room that they have allocated to Gabriel for the time being. Heart heavy in your chest, you continue on down the hall and tear your gaze away.

You’re not sure how much you can do for him, but you hope you can do something.

Basically if something is used as evidence that Mac is gay it’s only fair to apply it to Dennis too. here’s every parallel/similarity I could think of:

- early on they’re borderline compulsive about pursuing women, often out of competition with one another, but never show any true interest in them.

- both are constantly perceived as gay by others, to their intense denial. Think the gang gets whacked (“okay, keep bangin dudes”), the high school reunion ep (“because you’re gay”) lethal weapon six (“so you want money for your gay porno movie?”) Mac fights gay marriage (“oh I get it, you’re gay”) or any other time Mac’s ever been on screen.

- both talk constantly about what they believe to be their in-depth knowledge of gay slang, culture, and sex

- they both know that the rainbow is a gay bar, which was something used like five minutes earlier to highlight macs gayness in contrast to charlie, who didn’t know that.

- both express disgust and a lack of attraction or obviously conventionally attractive women (mac with dusty and the ring girls from s12, Dennis with the model he designed the dress for. And yes I know this also ties into their mysogny)

-at a certain point both essentially stop pursuing women (Dennis by s13 and Mac over time) but that’s also when they start most aggressively asserting their heterosexuality.

- When confronted with the fact that they don’t seem interested in women anymore, mac hires dusty and Dennis tries to flirt with chili lesbian. Both fail miserably: mac “can’t get it up” and Dennis flirts with all the grace of a twelve year old at a middle school dance. Their “abilities” with women are deteriorating. Shit gets hard to fake.

- the constant positioning of both of them in homoerotic situations, in or out of context: all of nightman cometh (especially live), Charlie straddling Dennis, that video of Mac “wrestling” that wealthy guy, Dennis in episode 1, lw6, when mac mimed sucking Dennis’s dick, mac and Dennis break up, etc etc.

- as pointed out by someone (rob maybe?) in the Mac and Dennis break up commentary, both of them lust after overfeminized caricatures of women

-both of them fixate on male celebrities/athletes, focusing heavily on their appearances (Tom Bradey, chase utley, god they have the worst taste)

- not exactly a parallel, but in the gang goes to hell when mac says a woman with big breasts is something he doesn’t want to imagine Dennis nods his head very earnestly and says “good point”

- this was pointed out by @lesbianfreyja but in hohc it seems like taking care of your body/appearance is something the gang associates with being gay, and while Mac works out, Dennis is the one who counts calories, tried fad diets, wears makeup, etc

-equally responsible for the dick poster

- mac shrugging when Charlie says “men or women or whoever you like vs. Dennis making the vaguest possible hand gesture when dee says “you’re not gay, you’re just really vain”. Fight.

- Dennis “I try and engage physically without ever going on the first date” reynolds and mac “I’ll just sleep with whoever Dennis does I guess” Macdonald having monthly expensive dinner dates that they love so much that they start waiting for the next one as soon as they’re over.

RvB17 Episode 8 Review: Finally

Well guys, after so many years, Donut finally gave the Reds and Blues a piece of his mind. While I felt that last week had the weakest episode so far, I can forgive it because it gave us Donut telling everyone off. It’s a week later and I still get so much satisfaction from that scene alone. With Wash sending everyone to apologize, and Huggins in Season 1 with Caboose, what’s going to happen now? Well, lets lake a looksie shall we?

The Reds and Blues have caught up to Donut and apologize, but he's not willing to accept it since... well saying your sorry and showing it are two different things. Considering that Donut went through all of time and space to fix what he did and make it right... yeah, point. Carolina asks if they can prove it by fixing the timeline, which he agrees with. So... that was resolved quickly. Everyone naturally has questions about the time travel, Doc's being about what's going on with Caboose right now. Donut explains that while their Caboose is somewhere else, the one with them is a different timeline Caboose, aka Season 5 Caboose. When Simmons questions how reliving their history is going to correct anything, Donut decides to jump them all ahead ten minutes. Since they'll lose Wash and Carolina, he instructs them to meet up and for Wash to give Carolina the explanation.

Donut jumps them all back ten minutes, where he's still crushed by Sister's ship and Tucker is recovering from childbirth. Church is understandably confused, but at this point, Caboose has returned and he sends Church to take a nap. But Caboose did not come alone. Huggins arrives, much to Grif's glee. Like... he sounds happier than I think he ever has. He's so happy and missed Huggins so much that her still being angry at him, to the point that she goes red, doesn't even phase him. Donut proceeds to explain about how they have to stop Genkins from creating paradoxes... but since they don't know where he's going to be, they have to relive their lives and make sure it goes exactly as it happens.

Huggins, however, points out that there's another way... just as Lopez has already jumped. Whoops. Anyways, since Huggins is made of light, she can go forward on her own, find alternate timelines, report back, and the guys can jump ahead to that point and make the event go as it's meant to. Sarge things that's too convoluted and will take too long... but Huggins proves it by going to and from the moon in a blink, plus she already did it with meeting with Caboose and it sounds like they already did it once. Grif is outright tearful that this means less bullshit before apologizing to her for fucking time up. Huggins... doesn't forgive him, but she can't stay mad at him right now due to time being fucked up. She therefore just tells him to fix reality before going off to get her scouting underway. Ouch.

Simmons repeats his question about exactly why they need to relive their lives to begin with. Caboose, therefore, proposes this analogy to explain it. You know how you can sometimes get a gap in your zipper? Apparently, it happened to Simmons in 6th Grade during Debate Class, but to the point. To fix the gap, the zipper has to go all the way down and then zipped back up to fix it. So that's what they have to do, go back through their lives to undo the gap and fix it again. Even Donut admits that the analogy makes things clearer. Yeah, the two former rookies are the ones figuring out how to fix shit. Who knew? Tucker is questioning if this will even work, to which Donut replies that the only way that they'll be able to find out all depends on them.

From there, we get a montage of the guys going back to events where Genkins is trying to strike. Sarge ends up at the day that they deleted the Blues, aka the best day of his life. When Genkins tries to interfere by hacking the computer, Simmons simply reboots it to get rid of him. Which keep in mind that isn't present!Simmons, that's Season Six Simmons doing it nonchalantly. Anyways, Sarge proceeds to relive the moment several times to make sure that ti worked... aka to relive the moment cause he can. We also get to see the end of Season 5, where Andy blows up the ship, which is where Grif ends up. Genkins tries to prevent the explosion and reveal the truth to Church, so Grif simply goes off, gets a rocket launcher, and does the job himself. He also makes it clear that this is him getting payback on Tex for the beatdown his balls got in Season 8. Hopefully, he jumped out after, since Church is understandably angry and ready to give Grif a beatdown.

Our episode ends at one more moment. Tucker arrives at Crash Site Bravo in Season 11, the day where they lost and half their forces were captured... and when Felix was still faking being an ally. Well, shit.

Review

This was better than last week, but still not the best. Not to say I didn't like it though. As I kinda said in the overview, it felt like Donut... kinda forgave them all far too easily. I mean I guess something can come up later, but after how much last week's moment was built up and the payoff being amazing, this kinda felt like we were sweeping it back under the rug. Though to their credit, they listen to him... kinda hard when he's under a Pelican, but hey they're listening. And to his credit, Donut's not letting the emotions control his decision making, which really displays a lot of emotional maturity on his part. I really like that about him. I feel it's always been there, but now we can actually let it be on display. Bless Jason Weight for making Donut a character. Bless him so much.

So... let's do something a little different. We're gonna talk about Grif, and consequently how he's... kinda gotten the shaft, sadly. So last season and even S15, Grif got a lot of character development and focus. He realized he needed his friends, began to commit himself more, confronted his issues with the constant adventures, started to focus more to the point that he confronted Genkins and gave up on wanting the pizza he wanted the whole time to try and prevent the paradox. He failed, but the fact that he tried and that he became a more focused, more mature person was great... and that has been ignored so far. Mind you he spent half the season with his memory wiped and so far not a lot of time to show that development and I'll give them credit when I get to the positive side, but it still really feels like all the build-up and development that Grif got last time is just... gone. I mean you'd think he'd be more angry about Genkins considering, especially since Genkins outright told him everything right to his face just because he could, and that hasn't come up at all. It's just frustrating to a huge Grif fan like me. Is this how Tucker fans felt last season?

But with that said... I'm gonna be fair here. I think the reason why we can't do a lot with Grif, and probably others who could use development, is the 12 episode count. While the count is good for advancing the plot at a good pace and has a main focus to work on (in this case Donut, Wash, and the time travel) it sadly means a LOT of character opportunities get wasted or shafted as a result. Since those things need the focus for this story, those have to gain the focus and everything else falls by the wayside. Kinda like how in S12, Tucker got the majority of focus while others aside from the Freelancers and Church didn't get much. And that season had the standard 19 episodes, but the plot needed to advance so there just wasn't really time to do other things that I myself would have liked, like more focus on Grif, Simmons, and Caboose as Captains and not just Tucker. But that's a discussion for another day, but the point is the plot, as it is now, sadly means that Grif doesn't get the focus that I feel he should be getting. Which Simmons, Tucker, and even kinda Carolina are getting the short end of the stick too. Lopez is getting it really bad in comparison so... yeah. Production can suck sometimes.

Even with me feeling that Grif's focus is lacking after the build-up, I don't at all feel like his development is being outright forgotten though. Sure he's confused about what's going on and the time travel... but honestly I am too because GDI I don't understand time travel. So I can't get mad at something I don't get either and have kinda just resigned myself to. His reaction to seeing Huggins again was really, really cute. I don't think he's ever sounded that happy at any other point in the show. Sure Huggins is still angry at him, and it's not hard to fault her, but the fact that Grif was so happy that he wasn't even phased by it until near the end... it was really sweet especially compared to how volatile he was to her at first last season. And then once Grif understood, he committed to it, figured out rather quickly how to take Genkins down in S5, and blew them up with a rocket launcher with zero hesitation. The fact that after nine seasons he finally got payback on Tex for the brutal beat down was also satisfying as Hell. Sorry Tex, but Grif earned this moment. And even during the mindwipe, he was the only one who even considered believing DOnut and was weirdly motivated, even in places he normally wouldn't have been like during S13. So yeah, I wish that more was done after all the build-up prior, and I hope the next story arc will allow it, but I'm still enjoying Grif. I just wish we had more.

I'm not sure what else I can say really. Some funny moments, like Sarge's utter glee at reliving deleting the Blues. Part of me feels like he should be past this by now... but hey, it was still funny. Also, the link that appears on the Delete Blues screen? Type it in. Trust me, you will NOT regret it... or you will and cry, but do it anyways. The fact that Donut could give a coherent explanation while being crushed under a ship is impressive... although shouldn't he have landed in the cavers by then? Meh, maybe he's just really good at throwing his voice. Simmons just rebooting the computer to get rid of Genkins, which again it wasn't present!Simmons who did it was an underrated badass moment imo. And of course, the ending. Tucker is with Felix again, back when he was still pretending to be an ally. And Tucker has to let the event go as it's supposed to, so not only does he have to deal with Genkins... but he's got to keep his own feelings in check. Because if he can't and tries to kill Felix here... that may very well be the kick that Chrovos needs to be set free.

Final Thoughts

Good episode. Nothing major happened, and I'm starting to see some cracks in the structure, but I still enjoyed it. We have a clear directive for now and we have a pretty damn promising lead-in for next week. With four episodes left, there's a lot to still do and not a lot of time left. How will it play out? Not sure, but it's gonna leave one Hell of an impression. In that, I have little doubt.

I Am Cursed

I’m done with Hollywood.

I’m done.

I tried to look on the bright side. 2017 had me all hyped for the next year.

We got Thor Ragnarok and we got Gabriel comig back to Supernatural. My favorite Lokis kickin’ names and takin’ a$$.

Then May happened.

SPOILERS BELOW (Infinity War and SPN s13)

And MAY decided that YKNOW these characters don’t need to BE HERE ANYMORE so we’re just gonna COMPLETE THEIR STORY ARCS AND THEN KILL THEM.

And darn it! I can’t figure out a way to complain about it! That’s what sucks.

Take Loki: I literally cannot complain about his death aside from it happening. And I love Loki! I am a raging Loki minion! But think: His inner conflict between Asgard and Jotunheim, Trickster and Hero, was resolved! He accepted his place as a person of two worlds and as Thor’s brother.

How am I supposed to complain about that?? I can’t! It wouldn’t be fair!

Yes I am still upset that he died. I cried buckets. But the point still stands that I couldn’t have asked for a better death. Except for one at the end of the movie, not the beginning. BUT OH WELL GUESS I’LL JUST CRY!

Now Gabriel: I love Gabriel. I absolutely adore him. I was crying buckets in s5 when he “died” at Lucifer’s hands because I have a penchant for Tricksters.

So you can imagine how happy I was to see him back in s13. Granted, he was locked in Hell with his mouth sewn shut and that was NOT OKAY but he was alive. So the first quarter of 2018 was awesome! I got mah two Lokis back! YAY!

Then Gabriel and Loki’s darned self-sacrificing streak won out, as it always happens with every character I’ve ever cared about—I kid you not.

And AU Michael kills him.

And I’m screaming.

But dangit he did it to buy Sam and Dean some time!! HOW CAN I COMPLAIN?

We gots Rowabriel (only for a moment but shush). He stood up to his family like Dean had told him to in s5! How am I supposed to complain?

Not to mention that SPN’s real Loki was killed off too, and that’s just r00d. He was a cool dude. He had a case full of suckers. How awesome is that?

So I rest my case: I am cursed. Cursed to back the wrong horse from its foaling. Cursed to be so dang empathetic that I’ll attach myself to Tricksters as soon as they crack a smile. And it always ends badly for everyone involved...

I miss my Trickster Boys.

BUT JOKE’S ON YOU I CAN DENY THEIR DEATHS TO THE END OF TIME! YOU DON’T OWN MY MIND, RUSSOS AND KRIPKE! YOU CAN’T TELL ME WHAT TO THINK!

Jared: This is the first time I’ve been away from my kids in several months. It’s amazing! Jensen: Party time!

Jensen to Jared: You read your script Saturday? That was our third day shooting. What the hell are you doing?

Jensen: Cars were invented years ago, why would you run?

Jared: First scene we shot was Dean driving. Our first scene sucked. We’re like, we’re awful lol. Jared: It was hard! Jensen: You were just sitting there in the passenger seat...sucking! :P

Jensen is correcting Jared about what time he went to bed last night.

Jensen as a crew member: Hey Jensen, you ever hear of the ultimate arm? Jensen: You mean besides these two? (Points at his arms).

Jensen had to rimshot his own bad joke lol.

Jared is cracking Jensen up.

The boys are telling an Impala scene story.

Jared: There’s no cruise control in the Impala. Jensen: NO!

Jared says he knows it was Misha at dinner who hacked his phone. He doesn’t want to crucify him, but punishment is TBD. In all fairness Jared started the fight, but he’s going to continue it, too.

Not sure of the context, but at one point Jared says to Jensen: I’ve got your back, man <3

Being able to act against Misha as Casifer was different because Misha was now the bad guy.

Jensen makes fun of and is exasperated by Jared’s air quote texts which makes Jared gleeful lol.

Fan asks how they stay so young and handsome. Jensen says he sold his soul to the devil.

Jared describes Sam in season 13 as accepting. Can’t describe Sam with one word between s1 and s12. Dean in s13 vs s1? Jensen: Better.

Fan: What is one thing you like about each other? Grumpy Jensen: Man, it’s too early in the morning for this. Jared: Bowlegged.

One fan tweets: Despite all of the razzing, Jared says if shit hit the fan, Misha would be there for them. UPDATE: This tweet has been deleted and the fan said they made a mistake.

Fangasm tweeted: Jared describing Jensen: Despite our razzing, I know if the shit hits the fan he’ll be there for me.

Jared gives Jensen a tap after Jensen says their friendship and support system allows them to work and to love. Jensen: I wish everyone could have a friendship like ours.

A lot of the first episode will be in the gag reel. Jensen: Let’s just say Misha didn’t grab his nethers fast enough. “It’s dangerous to be on set with us with your eyes closed” lol.

rationales for my takes because i'm bored and love to type out essays:

favorites:

- season twelve is just such a good season. i feel like each queen is very unique from one another and the term "filler queen" absolutely does not apply to this group!! the judging is decently fair and i just love love love the cast so much. jaida crystal and gigi are such a good top three!!!! i took watching this season as a reward because every episode was just so good that i would've binged it all in a day if i didn't pace it out LOL

- season three is when i went from "okay i'm gonna watch drag race" to "WAIT THIS IS THE BEST SHOW EVER." season three is so close to my heart!! there are so many iconic episodes!! i love shangela's redemption arc!!! manila alexis and raja are IT!!!! raja was the first winner that i IMMEDIATELY wanted to win, whereas for s2 and s1 i was satisfied with pretty much anyone winning. this is where i recommend people start with drag race if they wanna get into it and want to start from a relevant earlier season! so good!! also SO many iconic lipsyncs??? raja v carmen made me Extremely Gay, manila v delta is so REAL, indiah ferrah v mimi imfurrst? HELLO??

- season six just rocks. the cast is fantastic. the episodes are fantastic. bianca adore and courtney are so YES. my roommates were so engaged with this one. so rewatchable. i enjoy

- as2 is SO GOOD!!! i don't even need to say this but the cast is fantastic... love to see alaska's growth after season 5

- s5 is slept on IMO i really love the cast!! jinkx is such a good winner!! alaska!!! detox!!! alyssa and coco!! i don't think there's a single bad episode?

very good:

- s9 was so refreshing after getting through s8. i really love the cast!!! i wanted shea to win but sasha's so emotional literally changed drag race history forever. so much to love here. ALSO PEPPERMINT

pretty good:

- s4 is kinda interesting to rewatch because it is definitely not a fashion season and sh*ron really sucks but i cannot lie and say i wasn't obsessed when i first saw it. s4 and specifically sh*ron winning changed THE WORLD. really sucks that it's so hard to rewatch knowing what a terrible person she is :/ that doesn't mean we have to discredit everyone else though,, latrice is RIGHT THERE!!

good:

- i need to rewatch s2 because i remember liking it and being invested in the drama. i really liked juju and raven but definitely wanted tyra to win. again! sucks to rewatch knowing what kind of person james is *explodes*

- s13 was my first live viewing and i really liked the first half up until denali got eliminated. the judging on this season was very questionable at some points. physically had to stop watching live after the roast episode because it became so meh for me :/ i KNEW symone was going to win as soon as i saw her promo!!! i'm so glad she won and she DESERVED it. her perspective is so crazy good. i like mik kandy and rose too :>

complicated, somewhat negative feelings:

- s8 is Very Bad for the first half. like very bad. and then as soon as the filler queens leave it gets AMAZING. this is very interesting because the cast is one of the smallest and yet the first few queens eliminated are so forgettable on the show? after naysha gets eliminated things start to pick up though. chichi naomi kim and bob are LITERALLY ONE OF THE BEST TOP FOUR EVER. s8 is so good but so bad. i need a critical rewatch sometime soon,,

- as3 starts off great until all the queens start hating each other and turning extremely malicious and negative midway through and then mellows out to just be okay at the end? i HATE the twist. shangela definitely should've won and it was unfair that she didn't even get a chance to try. trixie's great and all but i don't really enjoy watching her all that much on drag race? i loved her talent show performance because it was her doing something she loves. when she found her footing a third of the way through it was really great though. some of the episodes are bad (the dating show episode is so...)

- s7 needs a critical rewatch as well because i remember just absolutely hating it. the cast is GREAT but it was specifically the judging and episodes that i hated. i loved seeing katya ginger violet and kennedy do stuff! i am very mixed on pearl on the show. cannot BELIEVE that sasha belle was not eliminated on the first episode. i'm shaking my head as i write this JDJFJ

really not great:

- s10 has a pretty good cast after dusty is eliminated but i am not an aquaria fan. i can appreciate her fashion but i'm just eh towards her. i LOVE kameron monet and miz cracker. eureka is fine and i don't know why everyone hates her! some of the challenges were terrible

bad:

- as1 has a great cast especially if you watched it after bingeing s1-s4 like i did, but to no one's surprise it's the formatting of the show that makes it terrible. justice for pandora and nina flowers

terrible:

- it's so hard to say anything positive about s11 without making a list beforehand,, with that being said here are some thoughts HAFHFJ

yvie is an excellent winner and deserved it! sometimes i felt like she started unnecessary drama but it's okay! hated rajah's edit. did not care about any of the queens who were eliminated before rajah. shuga is a great queen and did not deserve how she was treated on the show. vanjie is SO FUNNY and i love her!!! she made this season watchable. nina west is an amazing queen but that lipsync against silky was one of the worst i've ever seen and should've been a double elimination JDJFJ also i was not a silky fan. i like brooke but there's something holding me back from loving her specifically on this season? she's great on cdr and in her other projects though!

this is embarrassing to admit but i have a google doc of my thoughts on every season of drag race with bullet pointed lists of things i thought were funny on every season. i am not fucking kidding here is my entire screenshot for season eleven

In the meantime, I moved. Even though I provided the agencies with my new address & my email address, I was never properly notified from the insurance company or the DMV office. This past weekend I get a knock at the door from some neighbors during a storm telling me that I should move my truck out of the street. I walk outside and see that my truck is sitting in nearly four feet of water. The water level rose up to cover the seats and nearly reached the dashboard. We put it in neutral and pushed it down the street so most of the water ran out. We used towels to get out what we could that night. I didn't try to crank it, and I unhooked the battery cables. When I tried to crank it about 18 hours later it would not start. My question is, can I sue the city for the flood damage to my truck since their sewer drainage system was responsible for the localized flooding on my street? Can they be held responsible for this? Or will I just have to settle with what the insurance company will give me for the truck since it is undoubtedly totaled? I have already paid about $19500 on the truck, but I still owe about $8600.
