Hi, HUGE fan of yours, I just wanted to point out that the big addition you made about Shadow Generations and the Shadow's history timeline from the anime expo seems to be based very heavily on assumption; it's way more likely and also was downright alluded to by the host that whoever threw that chart together for this con (and who likely was just an intern given Photoshop and a Fandom wiki) was only including appearances that were major to real life; they specifically presented it as "his first appearance, the games where he returned, his first standalone title, and then non-game media that depicted him."

I also don't agree that it'd be nostalgia bait to focus on Shadow's past right now, especially in a Generations-style anthology game that's meant to capitalize on the movie. The ARK itself was last relevant to a game almost 20 years ago so SEGA is probably concerned that the people they're marketing to literally weren't alive during its relevancy.

It's also not like they're ignoring 06 and sweeping it under the rug, one of the few things we know about the game is that it has a level from 06. I'm not saying you were wrong I'm just saying you based a ton of speculative criticism on assumption and misunderstanding, which as a Sonic fan who lived through the 2010s it's just very draining to hear speculative criticism

Well the 06 thing was just me being mr salty more than anything so I’ll give you that. It’s not a criticism for the game, because I know what the game is gonna be and accept this, but just a disappointment with the attitude around it and the fact that they were able to tell new stories with Shadow in the past but have been seemingly unwilling to do anything else like that for the past 17 years. It just kinda feels like they’re digging their heels in to characterize Shadow as someone whose sole motivation revolves around Maria because they think that’s what people want to see, even though that’s something that I feel the canonical ending of Shadow the Hedgehog (2005) and later Sonic 06 showed was definitely not the case.

(Although I still vastly prefer this reading to Shadow acting like an asshole for no reason).

My issues lie way more in my expectations for the panel that this was going to be a deep dive into Shadow’s in-universe character and explore some of the lore that hadn’t been talked about before. There was some of that, but in the end it really boiled down to stuff I was either aware of, or stuff that had already been well-established in canon. There’s nothing wrong with that per se, especially as an introduction to Sonic x Shadow Generations, but considering Sonic x Shadow Generations is already looking to be an introduction to Shadow in Sonic 3, I was hoping there would be more for me to sink my teeth into as someone who is familiar with the character and deeply interested more in specifics. I recognize this is 100% a me problem, but I can’t help but feel frustrated.

As for the nostalgia-bait thing, I think we’ll just have to agree to disagree there. Sonic Generations is literally THE nostalgia game, and I don’t mean that as an insult, it made perfect sense for the time it came out. But considering there’s been a pretty significant tendency to revisit the same locations and concepts, to the point where its become a known point of criticism for the franchise, I can’t help but feel like this is the same thing I’m used to seeing just with Shadow. Which don’t get me wrong, if they’re gonna do it anyways, I’d much rather it be for a character we’ve been hankering for for so long! I just feel a little fatigued is all, even if I understand it makes perfect sense marketing-wise to make a version of one of your best-received games that neatly introduces your character starring in a blockbuster later that year, while also throwing a bone to Shadow/adventure era fans who were dying to see remastered levels from that era (me included!). It’s actually ingenious, so I can’t possibly fault them for it. Plus, for all my complaining, its looking like there definitely is new stuff going on with Shadow, so I’m excited for that. I am just hoping they can tell a story better than the one we got in the original Sonic Generations (which fortunately shouldn’t be too difficult).

Anyone who knows what's been going on between us last year. weve been going through this process close to and near my birthday that ends with us breaking up- and then getting back together.

It's very simple, she missed my birthday last year ND the year before that. No post no greetings no calls nothing. So what did I do? Nothing. Didn't complain didnt ask questions. NOTHING.

And it hurt cos I used to do everything for her on her birthday to let her know I be feeling her like that- and honestly I just think it's nice to do nice things for people you care about and her birthday is jx an excuse for me to show her I care and give her experiences and moments ya know?

I don't know. May be it's my mistake I keep giving her the love I want for myself and I keep loving her in ways I never had.

Anywho, I had had enough of her analysis retentive attitude so close to her birthday, I got her all excited, called up her friends to let them know I was planning something for her. I even asked if they wanted to come cos I knew they would tell her either way. they a bunch of clowns really🤡

On her birthday, she cleared her schedule and seemed in a really good mood- I cleared my schedule too( we worked together then, she's my boss so she definitely knew I cleared my schedule that day)

Then on her birthday, I took myself out on a nice getaway staycation got me some nice lingerie pampered my back and toes, had those feet fetishized and love kissed by them cute weird freaky feet eating fishes with foot fetish, strolled through long halls naked under the robe with a glass of wine, and let my phone ring on silence.

Came back n acted like I'd been out with people and had the time of my life.

the og og plan from back when i was drafting as friends early on, i never expected kana and suna's ""relationship"" become such a big issue to the point where i feel like as it is right now, it's been kinda blown out of proportion. i honestly even had hopes that kana and yn could make up but damn......... sometimes as stories progress, characters you have just end up doing shit HLEHSJSBSN idk how to explain it but yeah, somehow, kana became the way she is now. yikesss! so yeah, you're right! hehe

it's a really funny alternate ending u guys couldve had :p that's why i had this smau on "light angst" back then. but well, cause now there's been a bunch that's changed, it's why closing it off has been difficult as well, sweeping kana under the rug is quite a hard task :p

Meggggg I was just musing on something and decided to send an ask because I LOVE ASKING YOU ALL YOUR OPINIONS.

Ok so I always see people mention that rio was crying In the club ™️ because he thought Beth and nick slept together. I get lost as to why people make this assumption though. At the start of the episode nick is asking rio for advice on a very clear problem: how to get Beth to agree to run for city council. Rio gives his smug hair-pulling advice as the solution to the problem. Beth agrees to run at end of episode and nick sends rio the bottle complete with “for pulling her hair” note. (Because he thinks Rio pulling her hair via strip strip coercion meant that Beth was won over by nick’s romancing tactic in comparison?? Because he thinks Rio’s hair pulling tactic convinced Beth to run? I’ve never totally known).

This bottle is clearly celebrating Beth deciding to run for council? It was the hurdle nick was facing at start of episode, and the one he’s jumped by the end. I’m so confused why people think rio thinks it means nick and Beth slept together?!???? What am I missing?? What do you think??

My hot take was that rio knew it meant Beth had agreed to run and while Rio had been all talk up to that point about being FINE SO FINE about nick using Beth for his plans, when the event itself actualized, he realizes he’s very NOT ok with nick using Beth or working with Beth or getting close to Beth or spending time with Beth, especially in light of the fact that nick has been kinda overt about his intention to also hit on Beth as part of the above. (The very next rio and Beth scene is the next episode when Rio can barely contain his “so WHY do you want this, what’s in it for you” question.) cue rio in his feels crying in the club and the true turning point for Rio in his decision to take nick down.

This was meant to be two sentences. Oops.

personally, i think i'm in line with you? i never thought rio took the bottle as notice that beth and nick slept together as much as confirmation from nick that she was running aka nick had his hooks in her now (or so he thinks). my take was rio's angst came from seeing where that path could lead, and it's almost more worrisome than just beth and nick potentially sleeping together for someone who's in big fat stupid love with beth like rio is.

more so than money, rio knows beth's horny af for power, control, and respect. his ability to give her all of the above is a huge part of what attracted her to him in the first place and all three of those are things nick/city council are able to give her with a crucial difference of not coming equipped with all of the bloody baggage and bitter history beth and rio have accumulated between them.

i always thought he's crying in the club bc he's looking at that bottle and seeing a future where beth's able to get everything rio's been able to give her from nick and she cuts rio out/leaves him/chooses nick. why wouldn't she? as far as rio knows, beth has no idea he's playing her and again, he and beth have all that baggage making nick look like a much less complicated option on paper. additionally, it's compounded by the fact that nick's got a history of taking what rio has/loves, so (i think) he's afraid that if presented with that opportunity, nick's gonna go for it/her just to mess with rio.

which brings me back around to what i ultimately loved so much about the love triangle (beyond the sheer delight i took from watching rio lose his ding dang mind and spiral his way into proposing): the way the contrast between rio and nick highlighted beth's feelings.

if money, power, control, and respect were all beth was after, she could've made her life a hell of a lot less complicated and turned on rio after he gave her what she needed to get nick out of the way. she had all the cards, she had the line on the secret service, and she decided to protect rio (and if there was any doubt, the show made sure to explicitly underline it with that beat between nick and dave where dave said rio had something nick didn't and then they cut straight to beth)

AND THEN, just in case anyone was like well yeah but she was all pissed off about nick lying to her blah blah blah, the show went for the compare/contrast again and set up (what seems to beth like it might be) a betrayal from rio with mick and the gun, and beth chose to protect him again!!!!! and then they made it explicit again with her and ruby and annie where beth flat out tells them sure rio might have had me shot but it was a flesh wound so basically he loves me and i'm not saying i love him too but i am saying i'm giving up all of our plans and a stress-free life with a clean slate in favor of criming with him until death do us part bc actually i am kind of saying i love him too

at the end of the day, beth wants rio, not just the money/power/control/respect. it's personal for her too, and she chose rio and the twisted, complicated mess between them bc she's just as in it with him as he is with her thank you and good night.

“Pliers?”

“Pliers.”

“Hammer?”

“A little reassurance that I'm not going to hit my finger this time?”

“Wouldn't count on it.”

Oswald gave Sabrina a stink eye that she just as easily shrugged away from. He was finding quite quickly that being a sassypants was second nature to her. Having a strong will was good -especially for someone as beaten down as she had been- but heaven help him if it didn’t make him go slightly insane each time. She was going to have a job in power one day. He just hoped that it was on the ‘good’ side of gray and grey morality, and not the ‘bad’ side.

“You know, I think I liked it more when you just sat on the couch.” he informed her, jokingly razzing his tongue at her.

“No you don’t.” she immediately spat. “If I sat on the couch now, you’d think I’m mad at you.”

“Are you?”

It honestly took her a few moments of thought toward the idea.

“Not in this room.” she decided.

“Guess I can’t argue with that.” Oswald snorted. “Would ya bring the standing magnifier a bit closer? If you’re not going to cheer me on, the least you can do is help me delay the inevitable.”

The girl gave a sound of affirmation before adjusting the afghan blanket around her shoulders. The blanket still served as her shield against the world. She may be gaining more confidence, but outside the hobby room her glares did most of the talking. Even that was more of an improvement as well. Stoic wasn’t the best word to describe her first week. Moreover, she did a lot more than head shakes and flinching when spoken to now. She still flinched when Ortensia raised her voice when Oswald didn’t do something the first fifty times his wife asked him to- but the kid couldn’t be blamed for that. It scared Oswald to; even if the forgetting had been on purpose.

At this point, the two foster kids had been with him and Ortensia for six months and three days. The day marking that this was the longest the siblings have stayed with one family was one where Brain called the first family meeting. He never said that this was the case, but at that point both caretakers had a good feeling about it anyway. Many things were talked about that day. Most of it was a simple ‘thank you for keeping our trust’ from the heart. But there were some topics that made them all go silent in both thought and fear. The biggest one of all; would Ortensia and Oswald have children of their own as well? It was no real secret that Ortensia wanted a big family. It was even less of a secret that the two had tried for their own child before.

Ortensia said that it would be nice to have more children. Oswald remained silent; too focused on the kids for their reactions. They may have known each other for six months, but they were still a mystery to him. And what he did know...?  Suffice to say, it sometimes kept him up at night in absolute fury. He didn’t even have that much hate for his own brother- and that fury was well pent up after so long.

But he couldn't think about that now. He honestly didn't want to hurt his finger again because he misjudged his hammer swing. Sabrina watched on, almost unflinching with each strike. Her eyes held a gaze that made it seem like it was her sheer will that prevented Oswald from hurting himself. She was willing each strike to hit the nail square on the head. It was perhaps the only bit of good luck Oswald didn't mind. Her intense focus led him to be extra focused as well. It took several careful moments, but his repairs on the clock were finally finished.

“Finished.” Oswald sighed, setting down his hammer with certainty. “Now all we need to do is wind it up, and see if the birdy’s gonna cuckoo. But we can do that later.”

“Why?” Sabrina questioned.

“The best thing about a spouse,” her caretaker gleefully told her, “Is finding new ways to annoy them.”

Sabrina raised an eyebrow at him, but didn’t say anything against the idea. If anything, she mentally filed it away for later.

“Do you ever sell the stuff you fix?” the girl then asked as she made her way over to the couch.

“Sometimes.” Oswald agreed, carefully taking the clock with him so he could set it beside the door. He hoped he wouldn’t forget it later. “Ortensia wishes I did it more, really. Says I do nothing more than clutter up the living room, or just create more junk sitting around without use. Thing is; everything’s got a use. It just has to take the right person to see it.”

“Like people?”

Oswald looked up, then turned his head slightly to give the girl an odd look.

“I don’t think I follow, kiddo.” he admitted. “Take me through your thought process.”

Sabrina gave a half shrug. “Everyone has a use.” she said, somewhat in a mumble. “But sometimes the wrong person looks at you and makes the wrong assumption. They treat you bad because they think you deserve it, even when you've done nothing wrong. But you still have that… potential. Potential that could easily be squished if someone decides you're not worthy before ever knowing you.”

“Ah,” Oswald agreed with a nod. “Very philosophical. A very unique perspective too, if I must say. However, them’s some high and mighty words from a girl who trash talked a store mannequin the other day.”

“I could arrange a better outfit than that.” she immediately huffed. “Pairing a tunic blouse with a denim skirt and leggings? It would have created a better silhouette if they had just put flared, knee length capris on it, with a belt a little above the hips. And don't even get me started on the flat colors they chose.”

“I think you're already started.” Oswald laughed.

“Miss Minnie agreed with me,” the child spat. She even blew a raspberry at him for good measure. But in her tall stature, she thought of something. A rather investigative glint hit her eye as she then ventured to ask, “Miss Minnie is married to your brother, isn't she? That's why she makes you fix things for them a lot.”

At first, her only reply was a grunt. He tried to hide it from her this time though; he put on a big smile as he came over to her.

“You're a pretty smart kind, you know that?” he teased while he ruffled her hair. Sabrina was quick to swat his hand away, then fix her hair again. Her stink eye was immeasurable.  Oswald pretended not to notice as he took a seat on the couch. “But this clock isn’t for him, or her. This was my personal project, and tonight at dinner, Ortensia’s gonna know it too.”

“Never said it was, or wasn’t.” the girl claimed. She sat tall, but held the afghan closer to her body. “I just… I like Miss Minnie. Just a bit. But then she goes and acts all no-space like Ortensia does, and it's grating. Is she another one that wants to have a super big family even though the one she’s got is perfectly fine?”

“Mickey’s the one who picks up stray puppies.” Oswald told her, rather sharply. “Minnie, much like the rest of us, wants him to mind his own goddamn-”

Oswald cut himself off. He had to force himself to unclench his fists. He looked over at her to find a rather still expression in return.

“What'd your brother ever do to you?” the girl ventured to ask. She had never really asked much about Oswald or his other family. Mostly because she had no interest in it. She was also smart enough to know by now that there was bad blood between Oswald and his brother. But if she was going to open up, then perhaps it was time he did the same. It was only fair.

Unfortunately, his answer was less than satisfying.

“You have your 'don't-talk-abouts', and I have mine.”

“Right.” the kid said with a roll of her eyes. “So I'll just ask Ortensia about them like you ask Brain about mine.”

“Now listen here you little-” Oswald started to grumble as he made a reach for her. Sabrina yelped before getting off the couch with a start. She whipped around the couch and over to a corner. She let the blanket sway with her. Once she thought she found a safe spot, she looked back at Oswald, upturned her nose, and flung the afghan across her chest like it was a silk scarf instead.

“Easy with that thing.” Oswald jokingly huffed at her. “You move it around like you're a queen about to poison a princess. That blanket's an heirloom, you know.”

And that was when he heard it; her first genuine laugh.

“Being a queen would be such a bore.” she grinned. It was mischievous, cunning, and joyful all the same.  “All she does is make the king look good, arrange banquets, and sit dutifully next to him even when he’s cheating. I’d rather be a princess. They have about… 30 percent more freedom than queens.”

“Oh really?”

“Yup.” she agreed, even popping her ‘P’ with certainty. “She gets to study abroad for her training, lead dignitaries into the kingdom, maybe even flirt with a foolish footman or two for good measure…”

“What a scandal that will cause.”

“Oh, but it’ll all be covered up before anyone even knows it happened. That’s the thing about royalty and their heirs; they’re always more than willing to sweep things under the rug to keep appearances.”

Oswald snorted. “Guess I can’t argue with that logic.” he decided. “Come on princess, let’s hang this cuckoo in the dining room before Ortensia notices.”

“Right,” the girl agreed with a nod. She walked back over to the couch to gently place the afghan blanket over the back. Oswald noted how she very gently folded it into a triangle before placing it down. She didn’t look at him as she went over to the door, but she did pick up the cuckoo clock for him. He smiled a bit before joining her. Together they left the safety of the hobby room and back into the main house.

“You know,” Sabrina mused as they entered the living room, “I’ve noticed that you usually work on older stuff. Like clocks, and projectors, and anything else that existed before Thomas Edison. How come? Why not work on newer stuff like Xboxes and plasma TVs?”

“Well, princess,” Oswald informed her. “That’s because I'm not allowed to work on electronics anymore. Not after an accident where I shorted out a control box and every single firework at Walter Elias Memorial Park went off six hours before the big show. Burnt my eyebrows off during that. Ortensia wouldn't let me leave the house for weeks after, too. Poor honeybunch thought just touching something with a charge would give me a heart attack.”

“Oh…” the girl mumbled. Oswald looked over at her, raising a concerned eyebrow.

“Something wrong?”

Sabrina shook her head. It took her awhile, but she quietly admitted, “Brain and I used to go there a lot. Walt Memorial. We always found a good spot by the jungle gym to watch the fireworks shows. Everyone sits by the safety line, you know. It gets too crowded.”

“Do you like crowds?” Oswald asked as they entered the dining room.

The girl then lulled her head from side to side. She handed Oswald the clock so he could hang it on a spot conspicuously already prepared for it.

“I don't like being invisible in crowds.” she finally decided. “I want everyone to know I'm there.”

“Keep sassing store mannequins, and I’m sure you’ll attract your own crowd.”

She tried to hold it back, but Sabrina let out her second laugh that day. The happy sound brought a grin to Oswald’s face. He was sure Sabrina still had a long way to go to really trust anyone within the family, but at the moment, he couldn’t have asked for a sweeter foster kid.

Garou is a pretty controversial character in one punch man subreddit. What are your thoughts on this?

For as much as he’s genuinely popular and well-loved over there for sure, it’s also a big enough place where it’s true you’ll find no shortage of threads & comments from the other side of the spectrum too. (The most volatile ones often get downvoted and/or deleted however.) From those who openly express their dislike to flat-out hatred of him, yes.

You’ll often recognize a pattern from them though (and they stick out to me like a sore thumb). Most commonly from newer fans of the series who’ve only read parts of the manga (so their understanding of him is incomplete or doesn’t make sense to them yet, recognizable from those who label him an irredeemable ‘horrible person’ or incorrectly a hero killer like Stain for ex), or who’ve speed-read the webcomic and missed things without connecting the dots about him yet after his big end-arc reveal, but who still come to express their distaste, frustration, or general confusion over understanding his arc as a whole. And because there’s still so much of that reader confusion abound, it’s no surprise why ONE’s had to portray manga!Garou with much less ambiguity compared to the wc, with more obvious reader hand-holding, for instance. That’s the writing trade-off (clarity over subtlety more open to interpretation), even though mischaracterizations still happen from those who hastily jump the gun (not ONE’s fault), but I still love the expanded depth and extra attention ONE’s given his character in the manga. So it’s like ONE & Murata have long noticed those readers’ perceptions to overall modify things for the better, I feel.

So in general, those types of reddit threads aren’t so much a problem, since they usually get the clarification needed from other posters (avid Garou fans) chiming in to correct them (repeatedly with patience!), and leave them newly educated with a fresh perspective and/or appreciation for what ONE’s done. I honestly feel like it really shouldn’t be their job to continually put in the work (like a broken record) for other readers’ sake or (lack of) comprehension, and I may not phrase or approach things the same way they do, or have the same rigid interpretation of Garou as some of them, but I appreciate their dedication and vigilance to defend & address the misinformation about his character all the same. :’) (For example, this user often has insightful and niche things to say about him, different from most others there, which is worth checking out.) 

What’s notably not so nice (and what I see as more of a problem) are those other veteran repeat haters, who jump in framing their arguments in ways that sound smart & logical (easily persuading the gullible under the verbose guise of ‘literary analysis’), but when you actually read what else they’re saying, instead of allowing others to see Garou in a new light (informing in a helpful way), their claims contribute towards the opposite: deliberately misleading others in an echo chamber of blatant misinformation. (Which is what I dislike; they can dislike Garou all they want, but don’t do that towards manipulating the trust of the impressionable.) Long story short, I remember exactly who they are too, so I know who to avoid or treat all their takes non-seriously and skeptically with a grain of salt (which is applicable in other fandoms too).

For example, there’s a guy who always bashes on Garou and his purpose in the story, making sweeping claims about his character (in bad faith) and what opm should be about according to him, while also admitting he skips over every fight and chapter without Saitama in it (instant ding to his trust & credibility). It’s then no wonder he ‘hates’ Garou when he’s deliberately chosen to brush all his content and development under the rug. :| (Just don’t sway others to believe what you already admitted knowing nothing about!) There’s another guy who always describes Garou in poor light and condescendingly ‘corrects’ anyone when the anti-hero vs anti-villain conversations come up again, while conveniently ignoring the very words from ONE himself (instant checkmate):

Garou is an “anti-hero,” but I thought he should be more “anti-Saitama” – otherwise, he’d be the same as the other monsters. I didn’t want to show the limits of his potential. Once you commit, Kyoujurou lets go of your hands and lets you finish eating and sipping your tea. He eagerly bounces in his seat as you do, so you do your best to finish up quickly. Once you leave the teahouse, Kyoujurou grabs your hands and leads the way to his house. You swing your hands casually- always casually, your oblivious nature making you blind to why he’s truly holding you so close. 

Though maybe, possibly, the next time you hold his hand, it will be mutual. It will be because the two of you are in love, and you yearn to connect. Kyoujurou can only hope- and he might have been pining for too long, because such fantasies seem so silly, but they truly make him happy to think about. 

As your hands swing, you break the comfortable silence. “You’re so excited for me to meet him, you must love him a lot, Ren.” You say as you walk down the cobblestones. There’s an uneven stone that you almost trip over, but Kyoujurou twirls you playfully before you can hit it. He then tugs you back to his side, the sound of your laughter from the twirl making him smile and nod.

“I do, very much. He doesn’t get to socialize very much since he’s always at home, so I know he’ll be very happy to meet you.” The Pillar pauses before he turns his gaze your way, his head tilting as his eyes soften. “But I also want you to meet him because I love you a lot too, you know.” 

You’d think looking you directly in the eyes as he declares this would get through, but you only laugh and blush, sweeping his sentiment under the rug. “Of course! I’m very excited to meet him.” 

Kyoujurou huffs, but it’s another thing that goes unnoticed by you. 

“Oh, this is your house, right?” Kyoujurou hadn’t even realized that the two of you had arrived at the house fences. He’s flattered that you recognize the place- you had probably only walked by once. Hope lights him up again as he straightens his back- maybe this was a positive sign! 

“It is! Come, come,” he urges you past the fence and past the front sliding doors, both of you taking off your shoes as Kyoujurou announces that he’s home and you thank him for letting you in. You don’t have to wait until a child is fastly walking down the halls, a bright look in his face as he greets you. 

His hair is identical to his brothers, his eyes the same, and he’s so cute that you think you love him already. If he were a bit older, Kyoujurou and Senjuro might as well be twins.

“Brother! Welcome home!” 

“Senjuro! My baby brother,” Kyoujurou doesn’t hesitate to bend at the knees so he can fully embrace his brother, “how are you?!” 

Senjuro laughs, his cheeks pink as he looks up at you from his brother’s embrace. “I’m fine. A-and, who are you?” 

You smile adoringly down at him, bowing softly once Kyoujurou lets him go. “I’m ___, it’s very nice to meet you. I’ve heard a lot about you!” 

“Oh!” Senjuro’s face lights up. “I’ve heard about you, too! Brother is always so passionate when he talks about you,” he laughs, and Kyoujurou simply nods, not bothering to deny it. 

“Is father awake?” He asks, and Senjurou shakes his head, lips pursing. You begin to wonder why their father wouldn’t be awake during the middle of the day, but soon you’re swept under Kyoujurou’s arm as he urges you forward. “Then we can have fun! Let’s go to the yard!” 

The three of you scurry outside, and Kyoujurou thinks up a million things to do. He seems a lot more eager than usual, but you have fun laughing and playing the games he comes up with as a way to get to know Senjuro better. You all end up training as well, Senjuro telling you that he was naturally more weak than his brother, so you think up alternative moves and techniques for him to use that’s easier for him. 

Kyoujurou watches as you help his brother swing a training katana, happiness glistening in his eyes. 

By the time you have to go, the sun is beginning to set. You and Kyoujurou know very well that you must get home before it fully sets, so he doesn’t stop you as you bid your goodbyes. 

“It was a lot of fun meeting you, Sen,” you rest on your knees at the entrance to their house as you hug Senjuro, smiling fondly. “You’re such a talented young boy, you know?” 

“W-well,” Senjuro’s face flushes nervously, his cheeks a cute pink color. “I don’t know about that. I’m not the best-” 

“You are! And you’re very cute too,” you pinch his cheek teasingly and he ducks back with a whine. You laugh as you stand, rustling his yellow-red locks of hair teasingly. “Don’t forget that!” 

Senjuro doesn’t respond to you, his face red as he sputters out a ‘goodbye’ before he runs off to his room. Your heart swells adoringly as you watch him skitter and you sigh. You haven’t forgotten about Kyoujurou, your eyes looking up at him as he stands by the sliding doors. 

“He’s a very cute boy. I’ve always liked children, but he might be my favorite.” 

The flame pillar steps so he’s right next to you, a hand wrapping around your shoulder again as he hums. A familiar smile is painted on his lips, and he winks at you as he says, “well, save your favorites until we have children of our own, hmm?”  

Crickets have begun to wake and sing their song, filling up the silence between you. 

“Children of our own?” You ask slowly. “Who are you planning to have children with?” 

Ouch. 

“N-no,” Kyoujurou whines before he can help it, his body deflating. “No, that’s not…” How forward does one have to be? Is it actually helpless, or do you really not like him and you’re just trying to make it less awkward? He hopes it’s not the latter, but the former isn’t much better.

The Tale of Two Viruses: Part 32, The Virus Strikes Back

So much has been written about the travesty of the debate, but I wouldn’t call it a debate. I would call it more an American Carnage. Carnage in the sense that there was one man literally trying to eat the other, the way a lion tears at its captured prey.

Can’t you just see Chris Christie and Rudy G in the debate prep telling The Don: “Don’t worry about facts, just eat his lunch! Better yet, skip the lunch and just eat him!”

I found it mind-boggling that anyone was surprised by The Don’s behavior. When are people really going to understand how disturbed and evil this man is?

This is what despairing bullies do. They rage. To be losing to a man he considers weak and impotent is humiliating. When The Don feels humiliated, he goes low, lower and lower. 

I searched for takeaways. Initially, I settled on three things:

Cows.

When responding to the “Green New Deal” (which Biden unfortunately doesn’t support), The Don snipped “They want to take out cows, too.”

No more hamburgers. No more ice cream. And most importantly, no more Yoo-hoo.  Those scoundrels, those heartless Democrats! So bad, so bad. And they got upset at us for taking babies away from their parents or taking uterus’s out of women’s bodies without them knowing.

Proud, as in Proud Boys.

When asked to condemn White Supremacy, The Don told the White Supremacist group The Proud Boys to “stand back and stand by.” ​Taking a page out of James Brown’s songbook he might have as well said: “I’m White and I’m Proud.

Forest cities.

Name your top five forest cities. You can’t? Don’t worry because they don’t exist. But The Don, who couldn’t be bothered to have a national plan to get PPE to all who needed it, is ready to sign a new bill in to law. It’s called The Sweep Act. The Sweep Act has two components: A broom for every American, and a national commitment to sweep the pandemic under the rug.

But after the news broke that The Don tested positive for Covid, I decided to abandon those takeaways and go with mask.

 During the debate, The Don was derisive of Biden’s mask wearing.

“I don’t wear masks like him. “Every time you see him, he’s got a mask. He could be speaking 200 feet away and he shows up with the biggest mask I’ve ever seen.”

Too bad they couldn’t have created a mask big enough to surround the entire White House, as who knows how many people working there were infected by the Super-Spreader-in- Chief!

And all those well-wishers out there: I understand what you are doing. You are trying to take the high road, do the opposite of what he would do. Show compassion. Just like the compassion he showed during the debate when Biden spoke about his son, Beau, who died of cancer or his son Hunter, who overcame substance abuse. Just like the compassion he showed back in 2016 when Hillary nearly collapsed form pneumonia.

Just like the compassion he showed when he mocked a journalist with disabilities.

I have no compassion for this man. None. He is evil. If you let your guard down and find a soft spot for him, thinking: oh now he will finally become human, chastened by this existential experience, you are naïve and deluded as he is.

There is no one this man won’t abuse, hurt, and try to destroy if given the opportunity.

When the devil is weak, make sure he doesn’t get another shot at it.

Who here doesn’t wish someone didn’t kill Hitler before he wiped out 11 million people?

Oh, but he isn’t that bad you say. Hyperbolic, you declare? Bullshit! He is that bad.

He has separated babies from their families.

He has deregulated environmental policies that will result in illness and death for thousands of Americans, particularly poor people of color.

He has and will continue to foment and support violence by White Supremacists-the potential for violence around the election growing each day.

He wants to take away health care and wipe out coverage of pre-existing conditions for millions of people, which will eventuate in thousands of avoidable deaths. And he wants to do this during a pandemic, when millions will be dealing with the medical fallout of the pandemic for years to come.

And then there is his response to the pandemic.

He knew in late January that it was lethal and spread through the air and said nothing.

Despite information to the contrary, he has downplayed the virus and put the entire country at risk.

He told the American people to use bleach, ultraviolet inside the body. Some of his devotees went out and swallowed bleach and a few died.

He is creating false hope and a narrative that a vaccine is around the corner. Ironically, his pathological lying and his attempt to rush a vaccine through without the rigorous testing it needs, has made the American public very skeptical about getting the vaccine. In fact, in a survey about who to trust regarding the validity of a vaccine, only 19% trusted The Don. I think more would trust cows (sorry to drag you through the mud, cows). Cornell University researchers analyzing 38 million English-language articles about the pandemic found that President Trump was the single most promoter of disinformation regarding the virus than anyone else. His malicious misinformation campaign will cause the death of many more Americans and perpetuate the pandemic.

His anti-mask attitude, disregard of truth and science, dismissal of social distancing as a method of prevention, has led to tens of thousands of unnecessary and preventable deaths. His delusional belief in his own invincibility put him in harms way and now he too is positive for the virus.

Even when he knew he was exposed to the virus (Hope Hick’s positive diagnosis), he went to a fund raiser in New Jersey and exposed all his rich supporters.

Most recently, he defied medical advice and decided to surprise his supporters by taking a joy ride around Walter Reade Hospital putting all the secret service members at risk. Here’s what one doctor at Walter Reade had to say about The Don’s publicity stunt:

“Every single person in the vehicle during that completely unnecessary Presidential ‘drive-by’ just now has to be quarantined for 14 days,” Dr. James P. Phillips, an attending physician at Walter Reed, wrote on Twitter. “They might get sick. They may die. For political theater. Commanded by Trump to put their lives at risk for theater. This is insanity.”

He has no shame, and cares not one iota about the impact of this stunt. In fact, this action is a perfect reflection of who he is and how he has handled the pandemic. Isn’t there a crime called reckless endangerment? In some states, if you knowingly are H.I.V. positive and you infect someone else (without telling them you are positive) you can go to jail.

In addition to these most recent egregious acts, he has knowingly, willfully and amorally acted in a manner to foster a genocide of neglect.

I have said this many times: The Don’s and his Republican collaborators are making choices that lead to people dying.

Let’s call it what it is. Evil. No act is heinous enough when it comes to his (and their) desire to hold on to power.

Knowing The Don’s ability to overcome adversity, he, unlike 208,000 Americans, will most likely survive this. Trust me, there will be no transformation, no come to Jesus moment like Boris Johnson. His response will be more like President Bolsonaro of Brazil, who recovered from the virus and declared himself victorious, an Adonis in the face of death. He will return to the campaign trail and revert to his vulgar, vituperative self, denigrating others, destroying everything in his wake, including our democracy, if that’s what it takes to win.

Do you still want to know why I have no compassion and do not wish him well? All I can hope for, if he does get well, is that he is defeated in an historic landslide, takes down the Republican Senate with him and then he and his family will prosecuted and convicted for their many crimes, spending many years wearing an orange jumpsuit to match his absurd orange hair.

How often do they bake desserts ? Twice or three times a month ? 

Are they more of a meat lover or a salad eater ? Bette is a salad eater lately because she’s trying to stay fit lol, I don’t know about Tina ? I feel like she’d be less picky, and would eat whatever is around the fridge ?  But also maybe salad ?

Who is more likely to surprise the other(s) with an anniversary dinner ? Both. At a time it was Tina, but lately more Bette.  

Who is more likely to suggest going out ? Bette. She likes restaurants, and spend money on expensive meals. But also dates with Tina ? Always.

CHORES :

Who cleans the room ? Tina. Bette is messy.

Who cleans up after the pets ? No pet ! I feel like they could have a cat maybe but that’s about it. Bette is not bit on pets.

Dan’s video, my mistakes, my apology, moving forward

Firstly, i love dan so much omg - i wrote my tweet here expressing all that love - but of course, more importantly, i’m so so happy and proud for him for coming out as queer!!! as well as phil’s tweet rt quoting dan’s video!! what a babe!!

I know to some it may seem like a chance for me to go ‘ahahaha we been knew’ or ‘I told you sooooo!!!’ but as Dan said in his video, and as I have learnt over the years, to say such would be to disrespect the person coming out and their personal journey. 

To add to this, I also feel the need to say that I am very sorry for my behaviour and words that came with it a few years back on this blog when I was in my Peak phandom/phannie phase (it’s not really a phase, it’s just changed over time).  To explain, during that time I had a ‘bi!dan’ tag (and i think another one along the lines of ‘queer yt’ as well as ‘whatphan’) a few years ago in which I would frequently speculate, or regrettably use the term ‘headcanon’, dan (and phil)’s sexuality and make assumptions about the relationship for various reasons that I’ve learnt now don’t really justify why I felt the need to. I’d argue, it gets a little tricky to separate the irl person from the person we see in the videos, especially when you grow up watching them like their a cartoon character, but I’ll also admit, I certainly got carried away with my idea of Dan (and Phil) and not always thinking properly of them as complex people with complex lives with complex sexualities to boot! It was wrong of my to slap a label on Dan, even if I had my reasons I thought at the time were... reasonable.

I just want to clarify, even before dan’s video he posted today, that I have learnt that I shouldn’t have been so publicly vocal in regards to speculating dan’s (or anyone’s) sexuality. It wasn’t right then or now tbh and as someone who is gay/queer myself and had times of being scared to be so, I really should’ve known better and listened to my own preachings of ‘your words have impact’.

I don’t want to believe that I crossed as many privacy boundaries as some folks, I only came across bread crumbs those folks had left behind, but even then, it’s easy to put myself up higher and be like ‘I’m not thaaaat bad’. Now, I acknowledge that I still went too far in a lot of ways and certainly put my own feelings, desperation, curiosities and need to project first before Dan (or anyone else in his position of not being out). I am sincerely sorry for this and any negative impact my words in the past may have had on him (or anyone). I’ve learned to be better and hopefully have acted out to be so. I only say ‘may’ here because I don’t think I’ll ever be sure if he saw any of my posts specifically , but I still want to apologise.

That all being said, I’m not gonna delete my tag(s) (that I later changed to ‘dan likes boys’) because i feel like that would be pretty suspicious like I was sweeping it under the rug. This blog is a big record of me growing up from as young as 15 (I’m nearly 23 now!) and as much as it scares me, I don’t want to erase that, even the parts that don’t highlight me in the best way. I want to be honest and acknowledge my mistakes so people can learn from them. Please, if you come across posts in the tags I’ve mentioned that rub you the wrong way, take it with a pinch of salt as this is me apologising for writing without thinking and getting so carried away. Also, I don’t really wanna mention it here but this isn’t about ‘phan’ and I’m not sorry for my phan art because D+P have expressed that is all okay multiple times (and even partook themselves with fanfic in TABINOF / TATINOF ahah), I haven’t cared about ‘shipping’ them in forever, to me they are just as Dan expressed because (now) it’s from the source himself (well, quoted on someone else’s twitter ahah but my point stands). I’m also not sorry for like, seeing a part of myself in Dan and Phil, as well as their relationship resonating with me and reminding me of my own- with people I consider soulmates (i agree with this basically) - I’m just sorry how I went about it all and how that potentially hurt Dan.

In the end, I stand where I have since I first started watching them in 2009 - these thoughts and feelings fuelled a lot of my past behaviours but I’ve learnt to think before doing and embrace it on my own or in more private spaces but it’ll still consolidate and make a cool conclusion here: 

I’ve felt a connection to Dan, Phil and their lovely relationship - whatever it is to them -, and while I’m overwhelmingly happy that connection has been further validated with Dan’s video and Phil’s tweet afterwords, what matters most, especially now, is that they are in a position where they can feel happiness, pride and just contentment in themselves and each other (even if things aren’t perfect 100% of the time). They don’t need protecting from something that’s a part of who they are. They are also allowed to be private about that same something though. 

They’ve given me so so much joy, pride in being different, access to a incredible passionate community (and will likely continue to over the years), especially today so really it’s only fair they feel all the things they’ve given me (and literally MILLIONS OF OTHERS !!!) for 10 years :’) 

I love Dan and Phil and this honestly feels like a new era where we’re all grown up/learning to grow more! Here’s to being better, making progress, living our truths and !!! being queer !!!

How quickly did/will they fall in love? - Mo had her captivated from the start. Bella always found him so interesting and yeah, also kinda cute but it wasn’t until he started playfully flirting with her that she realized that she had those feelings for him and it didn’t take long for her to fall for him hard. I’d say about a month or two after meeting she realized that she liked him a lot.

How was their first kiss? - It was like something out of a movie honestly. It was on their first date at Coney Island while they were at the beach stargazing and she took the opportunity to lean in and give him a peck on his lips. He returned the kiss and she’s been attached every since.

Wedding:

Who proposed? - Mo! He did it in such a cute and adorable way too. Definitely made her cry when he proposed.

Who is the braid’s maid(s)? - Whatever friends or colleagues that Bella can manage to round up.

Who did the most planning? - The two of them were both involved with the wedding a lot, but Bella was the one who took care of everything because she knows Mo is a busy man and didn’t want him stressing.

Who stressed the most? - As a continuation of the last one, she didn’t mind taking care of everything but there we’re definitely times during planning where she stressed out a lot, maybe even broke down once or twice, because she was taking care of everything.
