Hey y'all!

Today I'm going to give an abridged review of a scene from a movie that is very near and dear to my heart. I'll be discussing the "where there's a whip, there's a way" scene from the 1980 animated adaptation of The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King.

Before we jump into it, I'll just say that this scene is a 10/10. Fucking brilliant. It is peerless, and nothing before or after will ever match its quality.

The scene starts with a relentlessly groovy synth bass line as we transition to a procession of singing orcs. For those of you weaned on the teat of Peter Jackson's trilogy, you might find singing orcs to be a bit befuddling. I did too, until I actually read the books and found out that they're chock-a-block with cunts singing about anything and everything.

Which brings me to a side tangent.

I hate the songs in The Lord of the Rings. Not that I'm against music, not at all, I'm just against songs in books. My issue is that I have to invent the melody I think best fits what I'm reading. And let me tell you, the melodies I invent are shit house. Everytime I have to read another one of Tolkien's songs I'm reminded by my own musical inadequacies.

Anyways, back to the regular scheduled programming

Skipping ahead a bit (the first minute and a half of this scene is just orcs whining about how they don't wanna go to war). We find our good pals, Frodo and Sam, sleeping on a rock. And boy oh boy are they fucked looking. Whoever designed the hobbits in these animated movies really went ham with these hobbits, creating some of the most foul creatures I've ever laid eyes upon.

I feel sick just looking at Bilbo. It's the eyes that really frighten me. Anyways, shock horror, the boys wake up to broad daylight and, oh no! The Lord of the lash thinks they're orcs and is getting them to march.

We're then treated to another solid 20 seconds of orcs singing the same shit. Then Samwise comes out with an absolute scathing remark, saying "I'd rather be singing a good old Hobbit song myself." Fuck yes Sam. Tell it like it is.

The orc army comes to a fork in the road at the same time as an army of Easterlings (I'm assuming they're Easterlings, I might be wrong). The Easterling general pushes over the Lord of the lash, telling him that men get to march before orcs. For some reason the Lord of the lash, instead of fighting back like orcs always do, gets all coy and submissive and is like "🥺👉👈 okay".

Then Sam, ever the shit stirrer, decides to take advantage of the racial tension between the orcs and men to goad the Lord of the lash into starting a fucking race war. He does this ostensibly to create a diversion so him and Frodo can slip away, but I can't shake the feeling that he did this out of some sick, sadistic desire to watch the world burn.

The scene ends with Sam and Frodo running away as we see glimpses of the devastation wrought by Sam play out in the background.

Well, that wasn't really a review so much as it was a retelling of what happened. I guess I'll give my actual review here.

I do really think the song is groovy as shit. It's catchy, the whip sound effect slaps, the choir sounds great. I think the mood of the song is a bit strange though; I never really thought of the orcs as resenting being sent to war. War kind of seemed like their favourite thing (to me at least). I'm also a fan of the voice acting for pretty much everyone, barring the Easterling general. Special credit goes to the whip master, fucking love that guy's voice. I do have to question why, in a movie so strapped for time, they decide to give this scene a full 4 and a half minutes to play out. I have to respect the choice, though, even if I think it's a weird one. Sam starting shit is always funny to see, so that's a big plus.

Once again, I give this scene a 10/10. I probably rewatch it about once a month, and I hope I've visible all of you to do the same.

It is! I think of Austin Powers whenever I hear it. I did my damndest to picture/hear/not sure which to pick since I'm reading but I tried to envision you saying "Groovy" instead of Austin Powers which was way harder because I wanted to tack on baby to it! hahah Is it bad I only recognized like 1 of those authors? The only ones I ever read enough of to get a feel for their style is Dr. Seuss. I do want to learn more about these authors because you like them enough to get a feel for their writing styles. I like that ramble though. I might be in the dark or look like I'm tuning you out whenever you talk about books but I promise you I'm not. I'm soaking it in. I might not be the best reader but I got an audible account for Christmas last year and will like to try any of these books. I know Pride & Prejudice is off the table since we're doing that one together. But any others I'm open to listening to.

You go and start talking about being a good girl and praying (on your knees I hope) in the same line? That's got me feeling all kinds of ways, Frannie. Ways that'll make my parents and baby Jesus want to disown me... Which I'm not complaining about. It's worth the risk.

I don't know, Fran. I feel like I give the tutors a mental workout whenever they help with my papers. Last thing I want is for you to think I don't know how to put coherent sentences together. I know I do it on here but it's worse when it's for an assignment and I'm under pressure to present factual...uh..facts? I DID wonder about the highlighters! I don't like the situation that got you to that state but I got to see a different side of you and my body reacted in an unexpected way to it. A.I. it is! Wanna hold off and watch after you move to your new place? When movies or shows got a deep plot that REALLY sucks me in, I find myself being 100% emotionally invested in it. Guess that's what makes me cry because I feel for the characters.

But the color was only temporary. It's not like you shaved your hair into a mohawk and colored it 5 different colors. I didn't realize she's so on top of your weight. Has it always been like that? Lose yourself how?

Groovy is a great word, right? Sometimes, I think the type of vocabulary that people use is incredibly telling about the kind of person that they are. Not in a sophisticated, pretentious kind of way though - more so how their words make me feel. Like, when I read any kind of Renaissance poets such as Joyce or Wordsworth, it feels me with so much happiness, you know? Whereas in stark contrast, Woolf or Plath are both such beautiful, melacholic writers who write of intense pain and a desire or longing. It's so interesting to me how differently our emotions can be stirred, primarily from the use of how we choose to speak. You'll have to forgive my absolute ramble there. It's so nice to hear that your parents are so happy, especially since it's clearly shaped you into the person that you are today.

Hey, if I haven't made you smile by midday, I'm totally failing at this dating thing, right? And I just like making you smile. All of that is...incredibly, incredibly sweet to say, Sam. Hot as sin, hmm? Do I need to be praying for forgiveness this weekend at Church or do you think I've been a good girl this week?

Spellcheck, as much as I adore it, can absolutely be a buzzkill - especially when it tries to diminish any sort of passion. If you ever need any kind of proofreader, though, I am sort of a perfectionist when it comes to grammatical errors. It's why I have so many pastel highlighters. Honestly, I just think I need a few more days to be angry before I let it go completely. Although I will never say no to another gym session. Seeing you working out, or just in any kind of hot and sweaty situation, drives me a little crazy. And last time really helped unleash my pent up again, so thank you for taking us there. The A.I movie it is! I don't think I've ever seen you cry before.

Is it likely that you'll join a cult or elope? It's funny the differences in our parents and their priorities. My momma just messaged asking whether I've had my weekly weigh-in and was worried I'd starting 'losing myself' since starting college. I don't think she's forgiven me yet for the pink hair.

Day Eleven: Wren (Kurt)

"Is there something wrong with me?" Kurt announces as he walks into their dorm common room where Rachel, Jesse, and Quinn are sitting and talking. Jesse has his guitar and he can see from their eyes that they've been smoking.

"Do you need a drag? I have some still fresh back in my room but-"

"Not in the mood," Kurt dismisses. "I'm serious. I just came back from the Homophile League meeting,"

"Oh right!" Rachel claps her hands. "How was it?"

"I think he's about to tell us, Rachel," Quinn shakes her head.

"Blaine was there-"

"Ooooooh," They all coo in interest. "So you do like him, right? The hot guy from Ohio in your music history class."

"I didn't at all," Kurt sighs, defeated. "I honestly would never have noticed him if he hadn't done the dorm rap. Pretty eyes and all. He just looked like everybody else. But I did notice him at the dorm rap. Like he's smart, and funny, and it turns out we have a lot in common. We've kind of become friends."

"That's what you hoped after the dorm rap!" Rachel is too enthusiastic.

"So back to my question - is there something wrong with me?"

"He doesn't like you back?" Jesse seems skeptical.

"Negative," Kurt shakes his head. "And he's not subtle about it either. He literally suggested that I might get lucky and meet someone new at the dance next week. I don't think he thinks of me like that. Maybe I'm too girly, or edgy or something."

Rachel, Quinn, and Jesse all exchange looks. "Have you tried to tell him?" Quinn asks.

"That's a bad idea," Kurt says flatly.

"What do you have to lose?" Jesse asks.

"Only my pride, I guess." Kurt sighs. It's so unfair. Especially because Blaine walked into his world and his life and made the connection. And now he's stuck with the crush.

...

After class the next day, Blaine asks Kurt to walk with him and grab a coffee. Again. What is Kurt supposed to think? Just that it's a beautiful spring day to enjoy the warm sun and the chirping wrens on a platonic walk with a friend? Talk about mixed messages.

Blaine is chatty and in a good mood. "You said the hippies just found you?"

"Quinn found me."

"Yeah, so I mean do you consider yourself a hippie, like part of the movement?" They're sitting on the grass under a tree in the middle of campus, sipping their coffees.

Kurt knocks his leg and smiles. "Why? You have a problem with hippies? Pro-war, pro-guns, anti-sex?"

"Definitely not," Blaine blushes. "We should definitely get out of Vietnam, have gun control, and well, I'm in favor of sex-" He looks at Kurt meaningfully though he's sure they're both about to burst out laughing. "As long as I'm included."

"The hippies would include us," Kurt realizes how that sounds. "I mean gay people. At least my hippies would-" He thinks about how his friends are trying to encourage him to have this. To tell Blaine. "So I guess I fit in. I've got the esthetic, you've got to admit."

"Definitely. Do you - you know," Blaine makes a gesture of smoking with his two fingers.

"Smoke weed?" Kurt nods. "When I feel like it. I have some in my backpack - do you want some?"

"Me? Oh no, I've never-"

"Happy to share if you want to try," Kurt says with no pressure. "I hadn't before I came here. It's fun. In moderation. You'll never catch me high in a class or sitting out on the steps in the middle of the day."

"So there's a conservative guy in you yet," Blaine teases.

"Is there a hippie guy in you?"

Blaine seems to contemplate for a moment. "Sure. Why not? First time for everything, right?"

Kurt lights the joint he has stashed at the bottom of his backpack pocket, takes a long drag, and passes it to Blaine. "Be careful not to-" But Blaine takes a big inhale and coughs and sputters. "It might burn?" Kurt says.

"Thanks," Blaine coughs but he gets the hang of it on the next drag. "I'm a natural."

"Don't get any ideas," Kurt shakes his head. "I won't be responsible for corrupting the nerd from my music history class."

"How do you know I'm a nerd?"

"I sit beside you and see your notes. And you introduced yourself to me by asking for homework questions. I'm a nerd too. I just hide it well."

"You do," Blaine nods. "Oh I'm feeling it," Blaine says, lying himself down on the grass. "So what's your type?" And that's a non-sequitur which Kurt blames on the weed. "In guys, I mean - is it a jock, or an intellectual or-"

"Not a jock," Kurt dismisses. He lies down beside Blaine so they can look at the now setting sun. "I've had enough bad experiences with football bullies to keep me away for a lifetime. I don't know, really. What about you?"

"I don't know," Blaine closes his eyes and then opens them again. Bloodshot but still pretty. "I've never really been anyone's boyfriend."

"Me neither," Kurt says quickly. I mean it shouldn't be a surprise. They're 19 year old gay kids from small town Ohio - not exactly San Francisco. "I think nerds can be kind of cute." Kurt says it knowing he's hinting. He hears his friends' advice in his head and somehow it seems safer while marijuana courses through their veins. It's an excuse in the morning if it doesn't go well.

"Nerds, huh?" Blaine turns his face to him. "You said I was a nerd." No shit sherlock. He feels Blaine's leg pressed against his. He wants to hold the moment.

"I did," Kurt takes a deep breath. "So I'm just wondering," He's sure this is a bad idea, "Is there a reason this," He gestures between them, "isn't happening? Me and you, I mean." He closes his eyes quickly from embarrassment. When he opens them Blaine is lying there looking shocked. Not repulsed, but entirely surprised. And a bit scared.

"Am I that clueless?" Is what Blaine says, almost to himself.

Ugh bad pot-induced decision.

Kurt did just say what Blaine thinks he said. He's high and cloudy but Kurt definitely suggested that this, that they, should be happening. Blaine's ears start ringing - some kind of an internal alarm bell. Kurt is literally saying everything Blaine has wanted to hear, and they're here lying on the grass in the sunset. And he's high. His head feels fuzzy, his hands feel tingly, and Kurt wants him. And he wants Kurt.

But ugh not right now. His judgment is clouded, Kurt's judgment is clouded - What if Kurt didn't really mean it? His heart is racing. Elliott told him Kurt liked him but he wouldn't let himself believe. And now Kurt is telling him plain and simple but they're not sober and Kurt deserves much better than his current mental state.

He sits up. "Kurt," He looks at him, defeated. "I really really care about you," and Kurt looks so disappointed, it's painful. "I'm high," He says as if Kurt will understand. "I just don't want to screw this up."

He knows he has already. Elliott warned him. But the dance is tomorrow, if Kurt can wait one more day. If he'll still talk to him. Tomorrow.

My siblings are so loving, sending me an abundance of gifts. A dozen packages were waiting for me along with Mother's letter, some big and some small. It took me ages to get through all of them.

A few people have asked me how old I am now. I didn't give them an answer of course, fufu.

CADAVERIC INCUBATOR: We're headed back to Finland for some GRAVE VIOLATING DEATHGRIND that was originally recorded back in 2005. Here we are almost 20 years later and it's just as heavy and putrid as it was then. No credit for the cover art but you know I love a skeleton dude chilling in their grave.

Doctor Nielsen uses a stethoscope to listen to your belly. After a few moments of listening, he takes the stethoscope away. “Hmm. Hmm. yep! Definitely pregnant.” he gets up and puts his stethoscope in his bag. “Well, that much we figured.” “it's just kind of took us by surprise. It's just kind of sudden. Quite suddenly, wasn't it? I mean, practically overnight. I mean… how did this happen?”

“Well when two people love each other very much…” “Well, we're just tickled pink, or blue.” “you're at about four months now. Is that right?” you nod. Vision shakes his head. You look at each other and Vision switches to nodding. “I thought as much. We let people keep tabs on their growing babies with fruit. Make it simple for them.” you and Vision give each other looks.

“At about four months, the fetus is about as big as a pear. At five months, a papaya, six, grapefruit. Seven, pineapple. Eight, honeydew.” you chuckle nervously. “Hypothetically speaking, what size fruit would it be at, say, hmm, 12 hours?” “uh, pardon me? 12 hours?” “Well, I think this line of questioning is fruitless,” you say chuckling. “Well, hypothetically speaking, should we be concerned?”

“Hypothetically speaking, every new father-to-be gets nervous.” “Well, I have nerves of steel, so there goes your theory, Mr. Doctor.” “Vision, why don't you see the doctor out?” “Good idea. Yes.” you smile and start walking towards the kitchen while rubbing your belly. Vision and Dr. Nielsen walked out of the house. After a few minutes you hear Vision walk back inside.

“Huh. The strangest thing just happened outside with Herb-- whoa, nelly” you turn, revealing to be much more visibly pregnant than before. “Have you gotten bigger?” “have I?” you turn, knocking some fruit off the table. Vision uses super speed to grab a papaya before it hits the ground.

“I can't tell from this angle” you say looking down. “I can't wait…” he giggles while holding the papaya up. “To be a proud papa-ya” you giggle at his joke. Some time later, you telekinetically assemble a crib in a nursery room. You begin to paint the walls. Vision sits in a chair and reads from a parenting book. “Nesting, the overwhelming urge during pregnancy to clean, organize, and prepare the home for the new baby”

“See? You're an expert already.” you open a box of decorations and fly them up above the crib. “We have nothing to worry about.” “nothing to worry outside of morning sickness, mood swings, aching back and… feet. Darling you should probably sit down” he gets up. “Don't be silly. All I feel is excitement, happiness, and...Oh!” you look down at your belly. “Kicking? Already?”

He feels your belly. “Oh, it's such a strange sensation. It's kind of fluttery.” you laugh. Nearby, some butterfly shaped decorations turn into actual butterflies. “Oh, did I do that? I didn't mean to” a butterfly lands on Vision's nose. “Oh, uh, darling” “oh” you gently remove the butterfly “hello, little fella.” you open a window to let the butterflies out.

“Well, if that was the first kick, that puts you at about six months boy, oh, boy, I thought I had super speed. I can't keep up. Please don't misinterpret. I can't wait to meet you, little Billy.” he kisses your belly. “Billy? “Yeah” “well, i was thinking tommy. Just a nice, classic, all-American name.” “Hmm, Tommy. Hmm, yeah. Yeah. Then there's Billy, isn't there? Named after William Shakespeare. All the worlds a stage. All the men and women, merely players.”

“Well, I guess there's only one solution to this debate. Hope for a girl.” you paint a stork on the wall. “Well, we ought to decide soon. I estimate the baby's due… it's not a constant progression, seemingly logarithmic, but where i graph the fetal development thus far…” “he's gonna get here before you figure it out.” “The nearest I can conclude is that Billy.” “tommy.” “hmm. ...is due Friday afternoon”

“In three days?” you gasp “maybe I should sit down” you and Vision make your way towards the living room. Vision looks at a doll in the living room while you stand in the kitchen. Vision points at the doll. “I think we have an understanding. Start the clock” you start the timer. Vision uses his super speed to change a diaper on the doll. After a moment. He holds his hands up. “Time”

“Your personal best.” “yes! We are nothing if not prepared.” you grab your belly “oh!” “darling?” “ohh! Do any of your books talk about this? It's not painful, but it's strange.” “a tightening sensation?” “yep, that's it” “yes, where was it, where was it…?” He looks through his books and finds it. “Braxton hicks contraction, also known as false labor, usually starts in the third trimester. Named after john Braxton hicks in 1975” “honey”

“Sorry. Yes. yes. Ohh! Excellent” he gets up and walks over to you. “Gives us a chance to work on our breathing exercises. It should go like this” he demonstrates. You both breathe for a few moments. “Yeah, it's not working. I can still feel it.” “I'm sorry,” you groan. The lights begin to flicker and water in the sink begins to splash around. You scream. “What the… what the dickens?” “What's happening now?”

“Let's abandon the kitchen.” you run as the household appliances malfunction around you. You and Vision stop in the living room as the lights begin to glow extremely bright. You and Vision go back to back. Suddenly, everything stops going haywire. “It stopped” “yes, I'll go check on the neighbors.” “yes”

Vision enters through the front door. “It appears that the whole block is out.” “oh, and that was just a fake contraction. Who knows what will happen when the real thing starts.” you sit on the couch. “Do you think they know it's my fault?” “our neighbors” “well, yes, with all the close calls we’ve been having, it seems the people of Westview are always on the verge of discovering our secret.” “yes, I know what you mean.” he gets a strange look on his face

“But it's more than that, isn't it?” He sits next to you on the couch. “Mr. and Mrs. Hart, dinner. Outside with herb… i think somethings wrong here, M/n” you rewind time to before Vision sat down. “Yes, I know what you mean. The truth is, we are uncharted waters and you know what?” He sits as he talks. “I'm anxious, too” “we just don't know what to expect”

“Nope.” “Will the baby be human or synthezoid? A bit of both?” “If he's anything like his dad, Billy will be perfect” he says as he touches your belly “You mean Tommy” “mmm” you suddenly gasp “oh, no, darling, are you all right” “this is a real one” “what?” Vision begins to float into the air “I thought you said Friday afternoon” “well, i didn't consider that the timing between development benchmarks could be quite random.”

You begin doing the breathing exercises. Vision joins in and floats down back to the ground you get up and grab his hands. “Better?” “Yes, daring, thank you, it's passing.” thunder rumbles and rain begins poring inside the room. “Vis” “yes, dear?” “I think my water just broke” “yes, dear” you and Vision hide from the indoor rain under a table.

“Well, I was just reading about the advantages of water birth” the rain suddenly stops you sigh “oh, thank goodness” “let me help you out dear. There you go” he helps you up while you groan. “What a mess” you use your powers to bring a gust of wind into the room. Vision struggles not to get blown backwards. Everything dries off. “Oh, that's better” you begin to groan again. “Darling, do you think it's time to…” “call the doctor?”

“Yeah” he runs off. He grabs the landline in the kitchen, then puts it back up. “Damn, the phones are down, too. I better run. Except, he might have already left for vacation” “where? At a time like this?” “Well, in fairness, darling, the baby is approximately nine months early. I better leg it. You'll be alright here?” “mm-hmm” he kisses you and runs out of the house with super speed. “Okay”

You gasp and grab your belly. As you breathe, you hear a strange noise in the nursery. You slowly make your way over, but the doorbell rings and startles you before you go in. “oh, shoot. Uh..oh” you open a closet and put on a heavy coat. You open the door and find Geraldine. “M/n what's up?” Geraldine looks at your coat curiously. “It's 75 degrees out. Are you making a fashion statement?”

Geraldine walks in. “Hi, Geraldine. You know, now it's not really a good time” “no, no, no, it's foxy. You'll have to let me borrow it sometime. But first, I gotta borrow a bucket, not to wear, to use.” you angrily close the front door. “Somehow, all the pipes in my ceiling burst at once and I gotta bail myself out.” “all right, sure. Just stay right there. I think i might have a bucket in the kitchen” you jog over to the kitchen.

“Well, okay, then” you enter the kitchen “i think it's just here under the sink” you yell as you say sink and your coat turns into a raincoat. Geraldine yells from the living room. “Are you alright in there?” “yes, I'm just looking!” you throw the coat off as Geraldine enters. You quickly hold a fruit bowl in front of yourself “Bingo!”

She pulls a bucket out of the closet and turns to you. “Would you look at that?” “what?” “Fruit! M/n! Thank you” she walks over and grabs an apple. “Yummy” Geraldine walked away. You follow. “Well, good luck with the leak.” “oh, then--oh! Say, M/n, I've got a question for you.” Geraldine walks over to the couch. “You know how I've been working that temp job, right?” Geraldine and you both sat down.

“Well, my boss, Mr. Haddox, he was going crazy yesterday…” you look in shock as a stork walks up behind Geraldine “oh, look at me going on and on like you got all the time in the world. Let me go and get out…” “wait” Geraldine turns back around before spotting the stork. “No, tell me about the temp job” “oh, that's my boy. So, yesterday my boss, Mr. Haddox was going crazy working on the slogan for a new breakfast cereal. You know, the one with the little marshmallow moonmen?”

“Oh” you watch as the stork walks around the house in the background. “Yeah, yeah, those. So, its 10 minutes before the big presentation, and Mr. Haddox has nothing” as Geraldine talks, you try to make the stork disappear. A puff of Red smoke appears but the stork remains. “Nothing, that is, except the worst case of the hiccups. I ever did see.”

The stork begins to walk closer towards the living room. “Oh, M/n. He couldn't get out one word, let alone a whole pitch!” you try to make the stork disappear again, but it just flaps the red smoke away. “So I'm trying every trick in the book to help this poor man. I'm hiding behind filing cabinets and jumping out when he least expects it and boom.” you jump and throw an orange at the stork, which runs away.

“M/n!” The stork makes a noise. Geraldine gets up and looks around. “What was that? Did you hear that?” “no” “it was like a chattering sound like..” “oh! Like a…” you try to imitate the noise of the stork. “Yeah” “that's my new ice maker built right into the fridge” “oh!” you chuckle nervously “you're fancy” Geraldine says giggling. She sits back down. “So now, at this point, i am helping Mr. Haddox do a handstand under the water cooler..”

You start breathing rhythmically. “Because, you know, why not try a little upside down, drink those hiccups away. And would you know it, in that moment, in walks the client.” you watch the stork walk around the other side of the couch. “Oh, no” “oh, yes. But you know me, M/n i keeps my cool, no matter what's going down. I look at the client, and I look at Mr. Haddox feet floating in the air next to me..”

The stork, unseen by Geraldine, begins nipping at her pants. “ and i look back at the client, and say, Gravity Os: launch into your day, the right way” Geraldine laughs, sending the stork off into the nursery. You chuckle nervously “thank you” “yes, and that's exactly what Mr. Haddox said right after he told me to clean out my desk.” you gasp “oh, no, Geraldine he didn't fire you” “Oh, sugar. He hired me”

“Oh” Geraldine gets up. “Oh, M/n I landed a promotion” you start breathing heavily “and now that I've gone all corporate, I need some office supplies. Which brings me to my question. Do yall still keep those in your spare room?” She begins walking to the nursery. “Because, I was hoping you would mind sharing with your good friend.” “wait!, wait!” Geraldine walks into the nursery. The stork stands up against the painting of a stork on the wall, and Geraldine doesn't notice.

You put down the fruit basket and pick up a flower vase. “Is that what I think it is?” “oh, a stork, yes! Yes I can explain” you giggle nervously. “No, the crib!” you gasp and drop the flower vase. You begin panting. “It's coming. Oh. the baby’s coming.” “you’re pregnant?” Geraldine helps you into the living room. You are groining. “Okay, M/n. Now, let's get you comfortable. Okay?” Geraldine grabs some pillows from the couch.

You groan “I think I'm gonna lay down right here” “okay” you lay down behind the couch. A nearby vacuum goes haywire. “Vision ran to get the doctor. He'll be back soon” “no, no, there's not enough time for that. Relax. Relax.” Geraldine sets up some pillows for you to rest your head. She grabs the bucket and runs to the kitchen. “You know your breathing, right?” you breathe “M/n, I can't hear you.” all round the house things go haywire. Geraldine walks through the dining room when a light fixture falls onto a table.

“I may be late to the party, but I imagine there's a logical explanation for this.” “oh, it's all perfectly natural” you scream. “Hey, hey you're doing great. You're doing great. Look at me. Look at me.” you imitate the breathing pattern. “Come on” you do same set of breathing exercises. “I can't do this” “yes, you can” you shake your head “you can do this. Yes, you can. You can do this. It's time to start pushing.”

“You ready?” you keep shaking your head “you’re ready. You're ready. Push. push, M/n. push.” you yell. “Push, that's a boy” things reach a climax setting down as you begin to breathe normally again. Geraldine gets up holding a baby and it begins to cry. “It's a boy!” Geraldine hands you the baby. “Hi. hi.” you smile.

“Oh, he's perfect.” Vision runs in with Dr. Nielsen. “Oh, no. i missed it” “hey, doc, why don't you help me out in the kitchen there?” “we went so fast, it was like we were flying” Dr. Nielsen stumbles. Geraldine helps him into the kitchen “well done, M/n” “well, don't you wanna meet your son as yourself?” Vision looks around and drops his human facade. He kneels down and picks up the baby. “Ohh. you're strong”

“Hello there, little Tommy” “Tommy?” he leans in to kiss you, but you scream. He screams back in surprise. “What? Good heavens! There's another baby coming” you begin to heave. “Billy!” “M/n, push! Push!” you continue to yell. Some time later. Dr. Nielsen holds one baby and Vision holds the other. You stand between them and Geraldine sits on the couch. “Twenty fingers and twenty toes. You've got two healthy baby boys on your hands”

He hands you a baby. “Thank you, doctor” “yeah all in a day's work” he turns to Geraldine “and thank you for your assistance, young lady. I think you might have what it takes to be a nurse” Geraldine and you give each other looks. “Allow me to walk you out, doctor.” Vision places a baby in a crib “oh, all right. As long as we actually walk this time.” “come” They leave. Geraldine gets up. “I do owe you a debt of gratitude”

“You're such a strong man” “oh” you wave your hand dismissively “can you believe it? Twins” she pats one of the babies. “Hi” she chuckles nervously “I'm a twin” the babies begin cooing “i had a brother. His name was Pietro” Geraldine looks at you somberly. You begin singing a lullaby in Sokovian “I waited for you, and this day has come, my heart became a home full of light, full of light…” “He was killed by Ultron, wasn’t he?” “What did you say?”

“What did you say just now?” “I said, M/n, you're such a strong man. Should I say it one more time for good measure?” she walks away and sits on the couch “No, what did you say about Pietro?” “Pietro? Uh… hey, I'll take the next shift rocking the babies” “No, I think you should leave.” “oh, M/n, don't be like that” you look at Geraldine's necklace.

“What is that?” “what?” Geraldine lifts up the object on her necklace “that symbol” “I, uh… i…” “who are you” the babies begin crying “I don't..” The crying intensifies “who are you?” “M/n” you back Geraldine up against a wall “I” her breathing begins to tremble “i… M/n”

Vision enters the living room, returning to his robot form. “M/n?” you stand over the crib “where's Geraldine?” “oh, she left, honey. She had to rush home.” you look at the twins and smile. “Hmm”

(Westview Outskirts, Night)

A “Welcome To Westview” sign. A strange shimmer appears in the air. Geraldine is thrown backwards out of it. She lands in the grass. Cars drive up beside her. A helicopter shines a light on her from above. Armed men approach, showing a large camp set up near a shimmering wall around Westview.

Majid: Oh, so you were talking to me.

Yuu: Who else could I have been talking to? You’re the only Majid here. And it IS your birthday today, right?

Majid: ...What day is it today?

Yuu: May 12.

Majid: Aaa... yes, that’s what I wrote on my school application form.

Yuu: Why do I get the strange feeling you wrote down some random day for your birthdate...

Majid: No, that is my actual birthday. Or at least, that’s what the people at that place told me.

Yuu: That place... What could you possibly be referring to?

Majid: An ordinary place. A lot like any other marking on a map.

Yuu: That’s awfully vague.

Majid: It’s not important for you to know.

Yuu: Ah, whatever... We’re getting side tracked from the very beginning... So! Shall we start with the birthday interview, Majid?!

Yuu: How’s your birthday celebrations going so far? Received any fun gifts yet?

Majid: Well... I don’t know about fun, but some people brought me a bag of snacks earlier in the day. And dorm leader Kalim gave me one of the textiles his family had in a limited collection. Just a fancy blanket with the famed Cave of Wonders stitched in stars.He says it was handmade, but he’s gotta be lying... who could possibly have the time...

Yuu: So, you were given gifts, but you still didn’t remember that it was your birthday? Not even a simple “happy birthday!!” tipped it off?

Majid: Must’ve not heard them. I just thought they were all being weirdly generous today. And I like getting free stuff.

Yuu: Fair enough. Did you receive presents from anyone else?

Majid: A couple of my dorm members gave me bangles and other jewelry. One gave me a jewelry repair kit.

Yuu: Oh, seems like you’re interested in that kind of stuff. You’re always wearing those flashy accessories after all.

Majid: I don’t mind it... But I didn’t want to try the earrings on no matter how much they begged me to...

Yuu: ? Is there something wrong with what they gave you?

Majid: I’m just attached to this one earring. It holds a kind of... nostalgia... I guess...

Yuu: Nostalgia huh... Ah, right, what about Jamil? Did he get you anything?

Majid: Tch... It’s something stupid I’m sure. I saw him carrying a weirdly wrapped present. “You cannot, absolutely CANNOT open this before this evening,” he said. He’s as strict as ever. I almost got a hint from the dorm leader, but Senior Jamil slapped his hand over his mouth. Maybe it’s cleaning supplies or something...

Yuu: Have you always celebrated your birthdays like this?

Majid: In school?

Yuu: No, I mean, with this many people around you! And with so much going on for your celebration!

Majid: I don’t see the point in birthdays. Can’t you buy yourself little gifts throughout the year and have the same effect? There’s no reason to push it all onto one day like this.

Yuu: Aaa, but it’s not just about gifts! It’s also about spending time with your family and friends! Didn’t you... celebrate birthdays with your... why are you glaring at me like that?

Majid: ...This was stupid after all. I’m going back to my room.

Yuu: Wait, wait, wait!!! I’m sorry; I won’t pry anymore about that!!!

Majid: Good.

Yuu: But I am curious on how you spent your birthdays before this...

Majid: So you’re still going on about that... I don’t usually celebrate my birthday in the first place, so there’s nothing more to say. If I was in a good mood I’d spend a bunch of money on expensive stuff or add another cool lava lamp to my collection, but that’s it.

Yuu: Certainly you celebrated your birthday as a little kid though, right?

Majid: That’s... Well...

Yuu: ?

Majid: Sometimes the people at that place would bring us to the local bakeries to get some sweets... Sugar cookies, all kinds of baklava, kanafeh... They would let us pick out whatever we wanted during our birthday month, maybe even give us little gifts if they managed to raise enough money at that time.

Yuu: What was your favorite sweet?

Majid: I didn’t care for fancy cakes and stuff, so... luqaimats were fine with me.

Some of the Muslim aunties at that place would always cook those during Ramadan and give them out to everyone there as an evening dessert. It was an easy-to-get street food too.

Yuu: You seem to have fond memories of this place, but what exactly is it?

Majid: ...It doesn’t matter. I left it pretty quickly, so I don’t even remember that much anymore. It was suffocating to begin with. Don’t ask pointless questions.

Yuu: ! I’m- I’m sorry.

Majid: No... No, never mind. Just forget I said anything. I have to go back now anyway. ...Aren’t you coming along?

Yuu: Oh? I’m invited to your birthday party?!

Majid: Not just that, it seems like there’s gonna be a separate kind of feast tonight. A lot of my dorm members have been looking forward to it for a while now. And dorm leader Kalim said to invite everyone and anyone I knew...

I tried to like this but no chance. I hoped It would go into the "Psycho" direction and it really started strong but the vibe of the song changes drastically and suddenly it just annoys me and I talk about the chorus here not the pre-chorus because that was great and even the second verse is still good. There is so much going on and I can´t think of arguments to save the song. The MV is almost the same I like the half of the visuals but the other half isn´t really my style.

"Rainbow Halo" continues the vibe of the title and I´m not talking about the good part. "Beg For Me" is a pop song and I think it might be a grower but right now it´s kinda boring to me. "BAMBOLEO" has this retro vibe again and I can´t stress it enough but I still don´t like this trend. "Good, Bad, Ugly" goes into the R&B direction I guess but sadly I didn´t like it as well. With "In my Dreams" we got the vibe I´ve waited for I almost thought I would have left the album with not one to add to my playlist but I´m so glad I liked this song.

To be honest I have no clue who this is. And sadly I didn´t like this song at all. I mean the only thing I enjoyed was the rap part but it was so extremely short, why even include it. Her vocals are beautiful and if you like this kind of vibey songs then go ahead and listen to it. The MV fits the song but there is not much happening.

"Let it fly" is pretty vibey and shows her pretty vocals but feels a little bit long because there is not that much happening. "Devils in the city (feat. Dok2)" is a solid song because I like the feature and it fits the vibe. "LUCKY STAR" sounds like the other songs to be honest and I started to hope that the album wouldn´t continue like this. "Wish I could" has a way calmer instrumental and the song feels so dark I kinda like it for one listen. "Sunny" is with it 5 minutes a brave decision in this time of music and for me it was way too long.

The song has its charms and the vocals are really beautiful. It has these summer vibes and is pretty groovy but sadly not really my style. I liked the drop of the tempo at the end though. The MV fits the summer vibes and is really colorful.

"Drip" was definitely not what I expected after the title song. It lifted up my mood by an instant and I got excited for the album. It has switches in the sound and it's my favorite. "Eden" is a pop ballad with guitar sound and an interesting pre-chorus and till the chorus drops I loved the song. Nest is "Replay" with its clubbing sound while "Parachute" has more happy vibes. "Kiss&Fix" has so amazing vocals and gets addicting with its chorus. "Blink" goes for the cute vibe while "Dear Rose" feels very comforting and happy. Lastly, we have "Sailing Heart" a ballad that ends the album pretty well.

Oh I waited for this and even when it´s not what I expected I love it. It goes for the experimental sound and reminds because of this of Aespa. But unlike their songs, I think this one is for me so enjoyable. I love their vocals the change in tempo is so well done and I love the instrumental. And the visuals in the MV are so beautiful I´m in love with them.

The intro "Intro: Illusion" is really good and I wish it would be a full song. "Oh My Gosh" is a pretty good pop song while "Pretty Psycho" is such a vibe and I love it. "JOAH" is more groovy and R&B-like and very enjoyable. "Hate me, Hurt me, Love me" is such a fun listen. "Cursor" feels so powerful and emotional I love it. And the instrumentation is also pretty cool for a ballade. I love this album so much.

Anyways the song "Salute" is very girl crush-like and energetic but something is bothering me and I don´t know what it is. "Giddy Up" is almost good but the techno beat is kinda bothering me as well maybe because I´m not in the mood for it right now.

I love her vocals her visuals and the vibe of the song. The only thing is that it´s a little bit too long. The MV is also well done.

Since this is a repackage it´s hard to judge because it only counts in 3 new songs although it´s a whole album. Because I´m running out of time I can´t say if the new tracks fit in the rest of the album. Anyways "c/2022YH" has anime opening vibes and I love them. "Black hole" shows her vocals pretty well and I like the sound of the song. So I think I will listen to the rest very soon.
