okay so btw, Phil is the top requested QSMP character for the exchanges I run, usually followed by Chayanne (and then spiderbit/parrot duo, usually only like one or two votes behind).

Pissa is the 7th most popular QSMP ship, with 299 fics of this writing, and Phil & Chayanne is the 10th most popular ship, with 265 fics. Phil is the single most popular QSMP character on Ao3, tagged in 2,354 fics.

Speaking as someone who regularly goes into both the Phil and the Etoiles tags to queue art, Phil has tons of awesome art. People liveblog his lore streams. I personally saw the Cellbit discord doing a primer on his hardcore lore the other day because someone had the theory that it was going to be applicable to general QSMP lore. If I see a cool moment on stream, I can open up the tag six hours later and there's art of it.

Do you know how many fandoms would absolutely kill for that?

Phil is not sidelined by the fandom. He is doing FINE. That is the opposite of the problem we are having, we are having the problem where Phil is popular enough that people show up to other people's lore like "let me make this about my guy" and I scream and claw my face and apologize for them. We are having the problem where while MOST people in the tag are well behaved, just by laws of percentages, even a very small portion of the fandom acting badly makes fans of other characters clutch their blorbos to their chest and mutter darkly about "phil fans".

It might seem a little less if you're used to DSMP at its peak, but I assure you, DSMP at its peak was a megafandom. We are a healthy midsized-to-large fandoms and Phil is one of the big characters. I promise you.

Let me put this in DSMP terms. Phil crows? We are the inniters of QSMP. We are doing FINE. I assure you. Trust me.

Do I agree with the characterization everyone is bringing to the table for my blorbo? No. Popular characters get misrepresented. Is every fic in the tag a masterpiece? No. Baby writers get to have fun too. Do I sometimes go "aw I'd love to see more art of phil and [x] because I love their dynamic"? Yes. The nature of being human is to want more of your blorbo and for your takes about your blorbo to reign supreme.

But if you were kind of going "I want to see more of my blorbo :(" and thinking that represented that the fandom was not paying attention to the blorbo, I assure you, I've run the numbers, Phil is not being sidelined.

something else I wanted to point out in my post abt misogyny behind the scenes on the dsmp is how, when Niki first came forward very shortly after the dsmp ended to say there was a lot of misogyny from major male ccs behind the scenes, dt fans quickly accepted this as true because she didn't mention any names so it was easy to point fingers at wilbur or other men on the server and pretend her allegation didn't also very much implicate the dt, now that Connor, Sophie, Andi, and others have backed up Niki's claims of misogyny and confirmed that the dt were very much perpetrators of it as well they've suddenly stopped believing her

like idk I feel like nobody has mentioned Niki being basically the first to come out about the misogyny behind the scenes at all and how much of what she said lines up with what Connor said at the beginning of his stream, I just feel like it highlights the hypocrisy and contradictions from dt fans trying to justify why their faves couldn't possibly be perpetrators of misogyny

I’m honestly so glad I got to join, even as late as I did. I’m not going to lie, I am very sad that this arc is coming to a close, as these are all some of the most lovely people I’ve ever worked with. I know Bee (Tubbo) is starting a snowchester/ (post canon?) blog. Prophet (Quackity) Is already a Las Nevadas centric blog, which if they will take me, I will most lie interact more with. I’m not entirely sure what I am going to do, seeing that if I’m being the most honest, all the traction I get is from mutuals, or people who came from Bee. I know Tommy and Ranboo will stick with Bee, and Bee will do shit with Prophet sometime. ANYWAYS, the point is, I don’t have a clear idea, but I’ll most likely turn the blog more towards Las Nevadas or Post canon <3 My hope is to still be able to work with The “Cabinet” or at least chat and have convos with them. Ugh this is fucking sappy

Basically what I’m trying to say is I’m going to miss them haha. I’ll most likely post an update when I figure this out, and have a chat or two with bee and prophet

c!George and c!Dream have a bond that lets them feel each other's emotions. It is not a fix-it solution.

There is a bitter ember is George’s resonance with Dream. There has been for a while. It started as a small thing, back when Tommy first joined the server. But it grew and grew, until it was a bonfire that George could feel in the center of his chest, winding out from his lungs and strangling his throat like the thorns of a creeping rose.

Dream never named it, but George could guess. It was obvious, from the way it might flicker and wane but always, always flared up again whenever George tried to rely on him these days. First when Tommy burned down his house. And again, when the Badlands attempted their assassination. It’s been an acrid coating on his tongue, worse than brewing potions with spider eyes, since Technoblade… well, since Technoblade.

(George isn’t jealous about him. Isn’t jealous of the way Dream had been excited when Technoblade first arrived on the server, and admiration clicked and fizzed like redstone, even as the bitterness swallowed his appetite and choked at his breath).

The ember has grown into a proper inferno now, like the constant hissing of lava roaring in his ears. It’s hard to hear what Quackity is saying, but the resonance is winding tighter about him because Dream is coming. Dream is coming, and today George is going to demand answers.

Sapnap is dragging George away, away to Mexican L’Manberg. There’s enough lava to drown the whole Nether, a conflagration that could swallow the whole server is burning him from the inside out and he is gasping around the feeling of thorns tearing him apart from the inside. Is this what it feels to swallow a wither rose?

“I don’t—how could he do that? George, let’s go. George—shit, George!”

Sapnap is there. His hands are on George’s arms. George can’t feel it through the armor. Just a bit of pressure as his whole world shakes apart around him. It’s painful, and George can’t breathe. The world is in and out and he can barely make out that they are out of the castle. There are grass blocks underfoot and no walls to lean on.

“C’mon, breathe with me. In one, two, three, four—” Sapnap’s voice curled about his ears, rhythmic and worried. It helped, a little. Gave George enough stability to sooth his own reactions until he could manage something more than panting sobs.

“You’re ridiculous.”

“Shut up, George. Keep breathing.”

“I’m fine. What is this?”

Sapnap’s hands squeezed, keeping George from pulling away. He looked worried, the corners of his eyes crinkled and uncharacteristically soft. “It’s a panic attack, George.” The corners of his mouth dragged down. “Of course the first one you’ve had was caused by Dream.”

“No? It’s not my panic attack?” The pain ebbed as the heat did. It didn’t quite die back down to an ember, but the bitterness receded into something more sour, as the roses in George’s throat wilting into something easier to breathe around.

“Really?” Ugh. Sapnap made a face, and George made a face right back. “Okay, sure. Let’s just get to Mexican L’Manberg.” He turned away, but kept one hand tight around George’s wrist to pull him along.

“You are ridiculous,” George told his back, pretending that the sun wasn’t drying his cheeks into a sticky mess. He used his free hand to rub at his goggles. He tugged at the tangle of emotions in the resonance, feeling it spool out as they got farther away from Dream.

Whatever. It didn’t matter that the wilting had turned into the same soupy-bog in his lungs as when Sapnap killed Spirit. George didn’t care about the return of the almost-pneumonia of grief that settled like a fever and made Dream uninterested in the world for days or even taking care of himself. Maybe Dream would feel George’s fury like a fire in turn, and come apologize to bank it.

Tomorrow, probably, because he was so busy with Eret today. Tomorrow, George could get his answers. Demand what Dream was even thinking, and why he was even being this dumb when it made all this wrongness curl about him like a miasma and twist the emotional bleed into something dark.

Dream didn’t come home that night. Or the next. Tomorrow stretched on into the taught, painful pull of a distant resonance, like barbed wire strung between their hearts.

Just a bit of a disclaimer post I guess? Also using this to get out some feelings and to thoroughly set a boundary.

So I am remaining within the DSMP fandom as a whole, the DSMP's storyline to me is a comfort thing, I love the silly block men and my many aus. I'm mentioning this cause I am officially disregarding all CC related dramas or anything to do with the technical actors & writers of the DSMP.

This is mainly due to a mass amount of misinformation and various other things, I don't want to deal with, it causes wayyy to much conflict that consequently involves what I consider a comfort thing and additionally I'm going to be getting wayyy more liberal with what I post involving the characters (mainly in the shipping department) and I want it very clear that this is a blog that is CHARACTER based content.

Now to discuss something very important that ties in with this choice of mine to disregard drama, I additionally don't care who interacts with me and my content in terms of which CCs they like or don't like, what I do give a shit about are people in this fanbase who are assholes and go out of their way to treat certain people like shit cause they like Dream or whoever. I do not want anyone who thinks death-threating or doxing or anything of the sort is okay justified behavior as long as it's one group of people, near me or my content. My blog is a safe neutral ground for enjoyers of the CHARACTERS, your CC preference means nothing to me but how you treat others cause of their CC preference does matter - so in short, if you think attacking people based on which CCs they like is justified and okay, kindly, get the fuck out, the door is over there. I don't care what aforementioned CC has or has not done as long as they are not actively using their platforms to push shitty agendas and to hurt people, I can care less who you choose to watch - I care more about the ability to be a decent fucking human and to just leave people alone, harassment of any kind is not justified no matter the target.

Summary: I kindly ask that people who think harassment in any form towards people for the CCs they like is okay to please leave my blog and not interact with my content. Aside from this, almost anyone is free to interact with me - this is a safe space for DSMP Character enjoyers. Additionally please do not bring CC drama to my blog, I only make content on the DSMP Characters and do not wish to discuss drama due to various personal reasons. George Cinnabar Rambling

a basic summary of his character from me in discord:

Summary: George spends 99% of his time at Dreams side, as both a companion and a calming aid. As Dream has never had good control over his emotions (Primarily angry outburst that are not befitting of a diamond.) George rarely is seen not at Dreams side, and when he IS, he manages to spook every single other gem (on accident/not on purpose) due to his gangly size and form, and Due to being very quite in both movement and voice, never calling out to greet other gems when alone.

Post wars, when Diamond Dream gets put in the prison (Spoilers for the au LOL.) and George has actual unopposed alone time, where he's not just waiting for Dream to return, poor guy doesn't know what to do with himself! George spent all the thousands of years of his existence attending Dream, only focusing on Dreams wants and needs and simply not thinking of himself that he is just clueless on what do to with himself. Sapnap guides him through some of self realization and wants, but Sapnap also pushes the point of "I cant tell you what you want to do or need, George" George eventually finds himself primarily enjoying a comfortable spot in the woods where he can lay for days and just watch the sky. Somewhere far from where they'd been building, alone and undisturbed, except from the occasional beast that would wander up to George to sniff him or inspect him, then George would watch the beast until it wandered off. Sometimes beasts that became familiar and comfortable with his presence would rest beside him in the sun, curled up against his side. The fungus his spores grow is edible to beasts, and it has grown around his resting spot. It doesn't cause the same intoxication effect as it has on the gems, but does cause a calming effect. Meaning animals that eat a few of these fungus are far more confident and calm around George, and when they curl up in his comfortable spot he's made beside him, they rarely react to him touching (petting) them besides the initial gentle startle and glance from his touch.

Georges Powers Description: He fungal boy. He can create spores for shrooms, that he can either grow intentionally once they've landed, allow to grow naturally, or when they are inhaled by other gems, cause an intoxicated effect that usually causes a calmness about them. George is immune to this effect of his spores.

George Physical Description: George is very tall and lean, and i think is currently going to be the tallest gem on the colony. He's not terrible at physical combat, but doesn't have much training and often is to sit out with Fundy when Dreams court combat trains. George is a big gangly, arms and legs very long, smaller torso. When he walks with Dream, he keeps his hands clasped together on his chest chest just below his diamond shaped collar. When alone, he walks with them at his side, he looks like (Endermen) the similarly lengthy black scaled beasts that roam this planet in dim light. Also i think im removing his nose from his design. i am retconning his nose if you see old art with him having a nose, no you dont.

George's job Description: George was specifically created by pink diamond to be given to Dream very early on in Gem society. George is the third oldest gem on the colony, with Dream as the oldest and Techno being a close second. He is meant Comfort and Calm Dream, either with words or his Spores. Also to entertain and counsel Dream, mostly in a way of having Dream voice his thoughts to George and work himself into his own decisions. Doodles of George below the cut
