An Avatar: The Last Airbender/Silent Hill Fusion Story.
---
Chapter 19: Companion
Rating: M
Summary: Toph and Meira try to survive this strange realm. Aang meets a strange girl named Kara and is soon reunited with Toph...
Ships: Zutara, Taang, Sukka, OC-OC's.
---
Heya! Finally updated this story! It's a long one, so I hope you'll enjoy it! :) Also, even though there isn't anything too bad in this chapter(except for maybe a subtle implied mention of SA), mind the tags in the story, as they are there for a reason. It delves into some dark material since this is Silent Hill. ^^; All of the other mature and dark themes will come later on in future chapters though, so be prepared for that. D: Although, I try not to go too deep into detail with these themes, so you don't have to worry about that! ^^;
Either way, just know that I'm not done with this! I will continue and finish this story! :D
Thank you for reading and leave me a comment if you like it! :)

What Your Ship Says About You
It’s so interesting how certain ship fandoms behave relative to their characters.
Zutara fans are deeply passionate and ready to fight at any moment. They don’t care what canon (authority) says, they’ll fight them too. They also have very creative souls and explore possibilities that others wouldn’t have even considered. However they can be hotheaded and their passion can turn to aggression. Just like Zuko and Katara.
Kataang fans are more peaceful usually, content to bask in the zen of being canon. But if you drag them into a fight, they’ll bring the fury like they’re in the Avatar State! They strive to find coherency for the canon couple and accept what they cannot change rather than fight a fruitless battle. Just like Aang and Katara.
Ty Zula fans are fierce and sometimes they say things that don’t make sense to others because it’s based on “vibes” (auras). But if you insult them, they’ll come at you with the full force of their collective might. Just like Ty Lee and Azula.
Toko/Zutoph fans don’t care about the rules and are happy to enjoy their ship without feeling the need to defend it as canon. They’ll hit you over the head with their love for the ship in their memes or stealthily lure you in with fanart. Under their rash surface though, there’s some heartbreaking and vulnerable metas. Just like Toph and Zuko.
Zukka fans are just fun. Although sometimes there’s the occasion where they slip into taking themselves too seriously, and need to remember they have nothing to prove. They’re fine the way they are even if it’s not canon. Just like Zuko and Sokka.
Sukka fans are lovely and I haven’t ever seen them start fights with anyone, and yet Bryke continues to do them dirty and neglect them, even going so far as to imply this ship has broken up. Just like Suki and Sokka.
Maiko fans handle criticisms with smug dismissal and apathy a lot of the time, but set them off and you’ll see another side. It has ardent defenders but most of it seems like a defensive reaction against much more stable ships. Just like Mai and Zuko.
Taang fans are myths of epic proportion. Can’t tell if they never existed or if they simply vanished. Just like Toph and Aang.
Tokka fans are fun and most people will get along with them. But if you’re one of the few to get on their nerves or find them annoying? You’re gonna have a bad time. Just like Toph and Sokka.
Sokkla fans are tactical. They don’t usually get in fights for the ship, they just slowly lower your defenses with beautiful fan art. Sneaking in past your walls, once they’re in they’ll bring the receipts with their metas and brainwash you to their side. Just like Sokka and Azula.
Ty Suki fans are perfect and correct and deserve a giant gay island all to themselves and their girlfriends. Just like Ty Lee and Suki.

A sweet well-written coming-of-age story with a healthy measure of slow-burn and mutual pining. Katara and Zuko are both POVs, but the story mostly follows Katara. Bonus: Mai is NOT a clingy resentful idiot, but a smart person and a good friend. Some explicit language here and there, a bit of mild smut.

what abt toph x aang kids??
I like Lin and suyins story too much to change it tbh, so I haven't thought about taang kids.
Here are some ideas though. Since, as we know, they perfectly balance each other out, I think they would actually somehow stumble into being very good parents. Where toph is firm and not enough loving, aang is loving and not enough firm, you know?
I think three kids would suit them nicely. Earthbender, Airbender, and then Earthbender.
Let me quickfire some characters here:
Kipu would be their first. He would be happy, like his name implies. I see him being very spiritually inclined, but still very grounded and even overly skeptical at times. I can see him thinking things through very carefully and being disciplined. I feel like bending wouldn't come as naturally to him as it did to his parents, but once he found his groove in his tween years, he'd be on track to be a master. He would grow up with the most strict childhood because Taang feel like the kind of parents who loosen up their rules with every kid.
Tashi, the airbender, would definitely take after his mother. He'd be smart-mouthed, but still think before he speaks. He'd be observant and quiet until he has something sarcastic to say. But he's definitely the most considerate and empathetic of the three. He would be raised with a strong sense of leadership and responsibility that makes it hard for him to have fun. A nation rests on his shoulders, as well as the eventual training of the future avatar. The death of his father hangs heavy over his destiny.
Anyway, on a lighter note, Diki is all the fun-loving prankster chaos you get when you combine Toph, Aang, and being brought up with two older brothers. She's tough and tomboyish. She laughs in the face of danger and is extremely overly competitive. Anything that can be made a game will be made a game with her. She's also very good at reading other people. This makes her as considerate as it does manipulative. But she uses her powers for good... Mostly.
Anyway, I hope those concepts satiate you! I like to imagine next gen characters in the context that the krew meets you, so here's a bit of ideas for that.
Kipu is a metal bending teacher in Republic City, taking over his mother's role. He helps teach Korra and does his best with bolin. He's reserved but very sweet. He tells lots of stories from his younger years of travel and training alongside the two greatest benders of all time. He and his long-term partners are elder gays for the krew.
Tashi is jaded and always seems exhausted from all of his monastic, government, and familial duties. He and his family train Korra in airbending. He's hard on her and a little offensive at times, but he and Korra become very close.
Diki shows up for some sort of big-fight and absolutely comes in clutch. I can also see her giving unexpectedly profound advice. As a woman, her relationship to Korra would also be very important. Gals gotta stick together and I feel like they would have some deep conversations, and give advice to each other.
These characters are completely free to you to use in any capacity. Ty for the ask, and, again, I hope this is a good enough answer for you ❤️

K/tangers are really annoying. They basically claim we enjoy making Katara suffer in our fic for fun. Like exploring her relationship with A/ng in a negative light, the way it's hinted in canon that he was a neglectful father and possibly a neglectful husband. I mean, no? We like to write about it because we actually give Katara a voice that canon refuses to give to her. We let her feel things other than being A/ngs mouthpiece and champion. We don't want her to suffer, but how the post canon material is written, she seems to suffer by suddenly not having a voice anymore. The fearless, opinionated Katara we see in Atla isn't there anymore. She's a shell of her past after getting with A/ang. It's fair to assume that something negative is happening to her, and it doesn't mean we hate her. Actually, the og creators hate her. We just explore and disect the canon material and come to our own conclusions.
They also found out about the Katara keeps her scars trope from this years Zutara month and claim we hate Katara for not letting her heal her scars. Again, no? In canon, Katara's scars were inflicted by A/ng, and his reaction to it was overshadowed by Katara's feelings. By immediately healing them and letting them disappear, the show centers A/ng's feelings as more important because Katara immediately went to him to console him and make sure he isn't upset. Sokka was the only one who stood up for her. And that's my problem with K/taang. It's more about A/ng and his feelings than Katara. We don't hate her by letting her keep the scars. We actually love to explore her feelings and center HER perspective and experiences.
The fact that we even have to say any of this is a clue to how much Kat*angers actually understand the source material. While this ship discourse has been going on for the better part of two decades now, it certainly wasn't this bad until the recent influx of 2020 youngins just now discovering the show exists. (The ones who were in the trenches seem to not care as much because they are adults like myself and are better at handling their feelings) I'm going to leave it up to the failed education system for this.
I genuinely mean this because there is no more structure to the way English Language Arts is taught anymore. This is coming from someone who has been out of high school for almost twenty years and has seen the destruction of school curriculum. Its quite sad and I could literally use this discourse as a way to fuel the debate about the education system as a whole.
But I digress.
Katara is a character that has been cheated. I could effectively say that A*ng even cheats on her because he pursues his own goals without acknowledging hers at all or even worse, separates her from everything she has ever known. This is implied in LoK, so yeah. We can go there. Again, all of this is subjective and that's fine. But I'm a proof is in the pudding person and there is a looooooot of proof.
From the mouths of the creators themselves.
So yeah. We explore Katara's character like we should.
And it also begs the question of if the antis really know how character development happens?
Why torture of course!
I torture the shit out of characters. I'm not biased. I'm currently torturing Katara in a story to give her a more gritty personality. It's part of the process. You have to put them through shit in order to make them stronger. It's the flaws and the controversial things that make or break a person in real life so why not do it to a fictional character?
Anyway, I couldn't agree more with your statement, anon.

K*taang and Unconditional Love
I came across this exchange in the notes of a pro-K*taang post, and it helped me really understand clearly one of the things that makes me most uncomfortable about the way K*taang is presented in canon:
R states that the kiss in the Ember Island Players is forgiven because Katara and Aang loved each other unconditionally… but romantic love shouldn’t be unconditional. While romantic love shouldn’t be conditional on things like “are you always in a happy mood” or “are you the real hero”, it should be conditional on things like “do you respect my boundaries”. Otherwise love becomes something that can trap you in a harmful situation.
The kiss in the Ember Island Players was always going to be uncomfortable, but it could have been a teaching moment if the show had gone on to show that it had been a massive and hurtful mistake, and that a romantic relationship could not move forward until Katara felt sure that Aang would respect her boundaries going forward. Instead, by showing no positive interaction between Aang and Katara between this kiss and their final kiss at the end of the show, the show tells us that Katara’s romantic love for Aang is not conditional on his respect for her boundaries, and tacitly endorses such love.
(Ironically, since pretty much the only positive moment we do see between Katara and Aang between these kisses is Katara looking lovingly at Aang while Zuko declares him to be “the real hero”, the show even kind of implies that Katara’s love is conditional, but on Aang’s heroic status, rather than on his treatment of her, which is even worse.)
This isn’t meant to be a condemnation of Aang. He’s twelve and in a very stressful situation. He makes an awful mistake but based on his character I believe he’s capable of learning from it (would have been nice to see it, though). However, the writers/decision makers who decided on how to wrap up the K*taang storyline were not twelve, and they should have known better.

Love Senior ep. 2 bits and bobs
Disclaimer: not a native Thai speaker, still learning 🙏
Bad girl
แย่จริง ๆ น้องคนเนี่ย /yae jing jing nong khon niia/ = Awful for real, this junior! เด็กดื้อ /dek deuu/ = Stubborn/naughty girl!
How to explain? I needed to show the difference in the Thai, even though the subs say 'Bad girl' twice, because เด็กดื้อ /dek deuu/ has romance trope connotations.
And speaking of those- just before, as Naow pets Gyoza's head, Naow calls her ไอ้ต้าว /ai dtaao/ (I just can't make out the entire sentence rip), which is slang? cutesy? for ไอ้เจ้า /ai jao/, which is a prefix I guess that's affectionately used for pets for example. If you've seen My School President, ไอ้ต้าว /ai dtaao/ is what Win calls Sound in ep. 12 - I think it was subbed as pumpkin on YouTube? 'Cutie' might be a good roundabout way to translate it.
เกียร์อยู่ที่ใคร ใจอยู่ที่เกียร์ /gear yuu thee khrai, jai yuu thee gear/ = Whoever the gear is with, the heart's with the gear. ของคนสำคัญหนอ /kaawng khon sam khan naaw/ = [It must] belong to someone important, hm? -> lit. important person, can also imply 'significant other'
Rotten dog makes its reappearance!
ไอ้นาว ทำหน้าเป็นหมาเน่าอีกแล้วนะมึง /ai Naow, tam naa bpen maa nao eek laaeo na, mueng/ = Naow, you're making that face again like you're a rotten dog, dude. หยุดมโน อย่าลงตัวเอง ไอ้หมาเน่า /yuut ma noh. yaa lohng dtua eng, ai maa nao/ -> see last week's post for details because Naow's brother Faung also called her หมาเน่า /maa nao/ (= rotten, spoiled, decayed, putrid, foul dog)
This one came out a tad bit unfortunate so I felt I needed to clarify for P'Pure's sake lmao
ใช้งานจนสตีหลุดไปแล้ว /chai ngaan john sa dtee luut bpai laaeo/ = worked her until she's out of it/lost all sense/until breaking -> ใช้งาน /chai ngaan/ = to work (sth./sb.), utilize, operate, use [for] work
This sounds less flirty in Thai lol
ตบหัวแล้วลูบหลัง /dtohp hua laaeo luup lang/ = lit. slap on the head then pat on the back; idiom for doing or saying sth. mean/hurtful then trying to console/mollify
The puppy and its mother (thanks Lada for continuing to be the icon that you are mwah!)
เห็นตามติดแกยิ่งกว่าลูกหมาไม่หย่านมแม่ซะอีก /hen dtaam dtit gae ying gwaa luuk maa mai yaa nom mae sa eek/ = Saw her following you around even more than a puppy that isn't weaned off its mother ไงแม่หมา ลูกหมาออกล่าเหยื่ออย่างเป็นทางการแหล่ะ /ngai mae maa? luuk maa aawk laa yeuua yaang bpen taang gaan lae/ = So, mother dog? The puppy's officially out to hunt for prey.
Mr. Teddy
นี่เธอกำลังงับหูเจ้า(???)อยู่นะนาว ปล่อยตุ๊กตาพี่เดี๋วนี้ /nee ter gam lang ngap huu jao ??? yuu na, Naow? bplaawy dtook ga dtaa phi diao nee/ = Are you biting ???'s ear, Naow? Let my teddy go right now!
The teddy has a name!! The prefix เจ้า /jao/ (as with Gyo's vespa เจ้าหมูแดง /jao moo daaeng/) tells me the teddy bear has a name, I just can't make it out clearly 😔
Clarification on the pronoun used here
แกเลยรู้สึกแย่กับเจ้าของเกียร์ที่ห้อยคอแกอยู่รึไง /gae loey ruu seuk yae gap jao khaawng gear thee haawy kaaw gae yuu reu ngai/ = So you feel bad about/because of the owner of the gear hanging from your neck then?
And a note re: pronouns and names
The scene in Gyoza's room where they eat together and then tease each other on the balcony is the only one in this episode where they both don't refer to Gyoza as พี่ /phi/ (refer to my post from last week for explanation)!
When Naow stays the night, she calls Gyoza พี่ /phi/ and Gyoza herself refers to herself as พี่ /phi/ as well - I only noticed her call herself เกี๊ยว /Giao/ when she says she's scared of the thunder. 🥺

Aang is so 12-year-old for this. I’m sympathetic to the idea that he wanted to have no regrets if he died in the battle, but it’s not like he was the only one about to go fight for their lives. He clearly wasn’t thinking about what the surprise kiss would do for Katara’s mental state during this big battle where she could also die.
and that’s the root of my problem with Ka/taang. This is a reasonable thought process for a selfish 12-year-old, but it’s not a reasonable thought process for someone who wants to be in a loving relationship that lasts until death. And the narrative never, ever does anything to imply that Aang should learn to not be a selfish preteen. The only hint of a consequence he gets is that Katara gets mad at him for that EIP kiss, but even then — she doesn’t withdraw her friendship, she doesn’t stop caring for him, and she kisses him when the war ends anyway. It’s insane to me that Korra was held accountable for her romantic blunders as a young adult, but Aang was just perfect the way he is at TWELVE and deserved his forever girl.
I know the EIPs nonconsensual kiss is the most talked about. However, DOBS bothers me just as much. But I never see a lot of people talk about it. And I wondered why. I was talking to someone that I brought this up because it was bothering me and they told me: well, that's because Aang could have potentially died and he wanted to do something about his feelings before anything bad had happened. I begrudgingly gave into the idea, however, that kiss still bothered me. I understand that there could have been a potential where he could have died. However, that is not an excuse for out of the blue kiss someone when there has been no mention of feelings before that. Even if there were mentions of feelings that's not consent (there wasn't). Their dance in that cave is not consent. Anything that gave Aang the idea that it is ok for him to kiss Katara is not consent. His entitlement and affection for her are not consent. Just because you are going to do something life-threatening and you could die does not mean you force yourself on a person and she does not have to like it (by the look of her expression she did not look happy). She does not have to like your dying fantasy or be an object of it with her consent. Imagine, if Katara did not end up with Aang this scene would have been torn apart. But everyone's lucky that she did so it's not problematic (Sarcasm). I just hate how the scene is so normalized. Because when I watched it to write this, it was insane, Katara's dialogue "I've seen/watched you grow up, You're not this little goofy kid anymore" (it's like the writers were implying the mental age difference) drove me insane. I don't care if you say she blushed when these kinds of things happen of course you're gonna get embarrassed and flustered. I have an immense amount of hatred for this scene. It was just never discussed enough. The Zutara community is the only safe place to do it.
Head Canon time (to make us feel better after this post): If Zuko ever found out about Aangs non-consensual kisses. I think Zuko would tear Aang apart.

I feel like it would be hard for the Zutara and Taang kids to grow up in the public eye (since Zuko and Katara are royalty, Aang is the Avatar, and Toph is basically a celebrity). What are your thoughts on this?
Yeah I think they'd probably struggle with this, probably like any celebrity and their kid kind of situation. I haven't read too many fics or headcanons that deal with this particular situation, but I can imagine that any ATLA next gen kid would struggle with this issue on some level, so it would be interesting to see this talked about more! This and multicultural families. That's something that intrigues me too.
For me, I kind of have the dunebabies pretty oblivious to their parent's spotlight and fame up until a certain age, and some of them like it because they can make more friends, and some of them are kind of indifferent if that makes sense...
Some people headcanon that the Beifongs travel a lot and don't stay in one place for too long, and I think in those instances, maybe they appreciate a bit of the fame so that they can make friends quickly wherever they go. In my AU, they primarily stay in Republic City, but they do travel from time to time. I can imagine the kids having trouble establishing friendships and relationships where they can trust the people without feeling like they're being taken advantaged of or something similar. I would say in my AU, Lin and Kenji are more skeptical of people and keep themselves closed off to most, while Gyatso and Suyin talk to everyone and try to make friends everywhere (and in Suyin's case, she's the persuasive friend. She gets what she wants almost all the time lol).
Steambabies might feel the added pressure, especially because even though they don't care about image or the reputation of their parents, others do and it could directly affect how they are as leaders when they're older. It's something that's always on their mind, and since their parents are the first to really bring positive change to the Fire Nation and the world, there's additional pressure of maintaining or improving upon that. So I can see them at an early age thinking about how they interact with others, what they say, and just being guarded with their emotions. My oldest steambaby, Kya, would probably suffer the most from this pressure, I imagine she talks about her issues a lot with her mother and father since they had to deal with some scrutiny for their relationship. Izumi is a bit of a wildcard, but her indifference doesn't mean she's ignorant. She knows what the public sees of her, and she's pretty calculating with what they do see if she can help it. Iroh is pretty quiet and introverted and he doesn't make a lot of noise in the media (his sisters do enough of that), so he probably doesn't feel the effects of the 'celebrity spotlight' as much as other members of the Fire Nation family do, which he's perfectly happy with.

Summary: Many people say that opposites attract; all of them seem to forget that water kills fire. An element relationship study of the four Team Avatar benders. Drabble.
Fanfic.Net || Ao3
He is Fire. He is full of life and passion and anger, burning away at anyone who dared step close to him. He is an inferno of light and warmth, always raging, always ready to fight. He is heedless of danger, ready to consume everything in the way of his quest.
She is Water. She is cool and calm, letting her emotions flow freely as she too danced along with her element. She is soothing, healing the aches and burns sustained. She, like the rains that fall, can be gentle and compassionate for the people; she could also become a thunderous storm, sweeping away all who dare stand in her way.
Where fire rages, water cools; where fire burns, water soothes; where fire dances, water flows. They are true opposites, and as the saying goes, "Opposites attract."
But proponents of this saying seemed to forget that water kills fire.
And when she leveled that murderous glare towards him, he knew without a doubt that she would not hesitate to snuff him out.
And he knew, even when the water finally parted to let the flame continue flickering, they were never meant to get close, lest they destroy each other.
Air, on the other hand, is intimately connected with water. Water and air are not so different; after all, air is full of water droplets. Air flows, and water along with it. They are moving elements, and they never cease. When they hit an obstacle, they do not stare it down, nor consume it; they redirect, finding a way around it.
On their best days, they bless the lands with rejuvenating rain; on their worst, they rage as a tempest. And still, no matter what, they always worked in tandem, their fury unleashed together, fitting together like Pai Sho pieces.
Spirits save the poor soul who tries to take one from the other.
Where air and water flow, earth is still. It remains unyielding; it never tries to find another way around, nor does it care. It will stand, silent and impenetrable, until the wind and the rain slowly erodes it to nothing.
He winces as she—the Earth—punches his arm out of affection and wonders how long it took for Air and Water to weather down her tough exterior.
Still, even though Air and Earth are friends, he knows that they can never get any closer than they are now: where air flows, rock stays; where air diverts, rock pummels through. They are forever separated, air to breeze through the skies and earth to lay still on the ground, by an invisible barricade created by the both of them. Though they are opposites, they are far too apart to ever mingle with one another.
Now, fire and earth have an interesting relationship, he mused. Fire lies within the earth, kept in check, and when the right time comes, earth can force it out of itself and let fire unleash its full potential for all to see… even when the earth itself was damaged in the process.
Earth was the first and only to try and welcome him at the time. Even when Fire scorched her (and in more ways than one), Earth still tried to bring out his full potential in him for the team. She wasn't afraid to force him out, nor was she scared of the possibility he would hurt her; she merely saw potential that could be unleashed in their favor.
On the other hand, fire and air have an equally-interesting relationship: fire cannot survive long without air. That was a fundamental aspect of fire: without oxygen, there can be no fire.
For so long, Fire tried to fuel himself on rage and misconstrued honor. He was slowly suffocating, his flames dwindling into ashes; he was starved. And when Air breezed into his life, Fire thought he needed to devour him until there was nothing left except for flames and sparks. To continue being Fire, Air had to be consumed, sacrificed for the greater of the two.
It was a dark realization, he admitted grimly to himself, but at the time, he deemed it a necessary evil.
But Air showed him, in little bits and pieces, of what Fire truly starved for. Air would give him a small taste, a sample, but it was enough. It was what his father deemed to be weak and pitiful in an effort to stamp it out of his children:
Compassion… and true, familial love.
And ever since Fire joined the team, Air had only increased his steady stream of compassion towards Fire, feeding him of what he had been starved of for so long. Gradually, this team, which he had for so long been chasing down, finally became something akin to… family. The realization only served to empower him.
Finally, he could breathe again; finally, he was strong; finally, he was whole.
And as he watches Air and Water together in the distance, he realizes how he truly did need Air, just not in the way he thought he would.
He shook his head, smiling to himself. Air, water, earth, and fire; all were interconnected, parts of the same whole.
Together, they created something beautiful.
They say opposites attract.
They forget that water kills fire, and earth and air are forever separated.
However, that doesn't mean they cannot be friends,
For fire cannot survive without air;
Air cannot bless the lands without water;
Water cannot weather earth without air;
And earth cannot unleash strength without fire.
They are interconnected. Four parts to one whole.
Four friendships, one team.

Yes, yes, and YES.
You're so right on the Suyin part. And the steambabies part. AND the bladebabies... I mean. You could write a thesis lol.
I'm taking extensive notes this is gold lmao.
Okay I was just thinking about this and I need your thoughts...
What next gen kid would adore the Badgerfrog? I feel like one of the kids would practice speeches with one and just talk to a real or stuffed Badgerfrog like Zuko did. I'm leaning toward Lin but I mean... Steambabies would totally vibe with badgerfrogs too it's just a toss up.
Better yet, what are the favorite animals of the dune/steam/blade babies?? (let's just start a whole ass conversation about this lmao)
Why yes I do want to talk about these nonexistent non-canon fictional characters thank u stitch.
I have no doubt in my mind that Zuko passes down his awkwardness. Either genetically or just bc his kids learned from his behaviors. I like to headcanon that Katara and Zuko have three children, in the order of girl, boy, girl (although I change this all the fucking time bc my hcs are NOT consistent lol)
Their first girl, Izumi is a FIRECRACKER. She is bossy and outgoing and better at fire bending than u. In other words she takes after her mom, a lot. She is all confidence and no awkwardness. Her fav animal is definitely the family pet dragon, Druk. Their son Iroh (I change their names a lot too let’s just go with the standard names lol) is basically a little mixture of Sokka and Zuko. He is brilliant but full of doubt and awkwardness and he is super clumsy. He’s not a bender but he doesn’t really like fighting anyways. He definitely talks to badgerfrogs when his older sister makes fun of him. Their youngest is Kya, who is just the sweetest little thing to exist. As a water bender, she likes aquatic animals. Turtle ducks and otter penguins are her friends.
As for Taang kids I’m gonna go more or less with your headcanons for this one. There’s four kids: Lin, Gyatso, Suyin, and Kenji. Lin is a bit gruff and Toph’s mini me. She’s not really sure how to deal with feelings, so talking it out with a badgerfrog or with Momo is super helpful. Gyatso absolutely adores Appa almost as much as his father does (he can’t wait until he’s old enough to get his own flying bison that they’ve been recovering). Suyin isn’t much of an animal person- she thinks they’re smelly and gross, but she has been caught cuddling with Momo before. Kenji, of course, is obsessed with badgermoles as we’ve discussed before.
I think Sokka and Suki would only have two children, a girl and a boy. I actually don’t have names for them let me make some up. Malek and Kina, both nonbenders but fierce and smart as hell. They travelled a lot as kids, but consider Kyoshi Island their home. Kina adores the giant Koi fish, but Malek is jealous of his cousins’ pet dragon. He begs his parents for a dragon too. (It doesn’t happen, obviously.)
