been watching grian’s hermitcraft tour (got as far as Etho atm) and oh my god. Hearing how these fits describe their projects really does remind me that every aspect of this game is a creative outlet in some way. Every single one of them is an artist and you can hear the passion in their voices as they explain their storylines/redstone constructions/long term projects etc etc. It’s honestly beautiful. I will be enjoying all nearly eight hours of this thoroughly.

like ren and cleo are storytellers, they’ve got lore for their bases and it makes sense. scar sees aesthetics as their own function and makes beautifully immersive experiences. tango enjoys the process of automating things and creating games for his friends to enjoy equally and puts his heart and soul into his redstone. i’ve been wondering for months what joe hills’ moby dick streams are for and i am astounded at his project ideas and scale and progress yet again! bdubs (my beloved) is so deliberate in everything he creates in order to make these 3D works of art, and yet his storage is a boxy cave underneath his starter home. cub is exploring new possibilities of the game constantly. etho has spent more time trying to revive nostalgia and make his friends happy than he has working on his own home. these guys are everything to me.

(Building off of your Gem world hopping lore a bit here)

Maybe this won’t make any sense, but I’ve had this idea rattling around in my head for a while about Gem being something like the universe’s champion. Not a god, not someone all powerful, but a player with the world’s blessing in all she does.

You’ve got her connection to the End, which is already one of the most iconic parts of the game. Then you also have her mentioning that dreaming is the key to dimension hopping, which is easily comparable to the end poem. And, of course, her whole thing with ender dragons, which really finished the trio off.

That lore is cool on its own, but it’s also in her play style. She’s drawn to villages, and while she did it in HC9 the worlds that really stand out to me are two of her hardcore worlds, where she’s based in villages, remodeled them, and protected the villagers, whom she gave names and personalities. She delights in the mundane or common parts of the game. Things like that.

It’s like how Etho feels uniquely Minecraft-y because he’s been around for so long, as ancient as the lands around him. Gem doesn’t have the same old world feel- she’s younger, bursting with potential. Maybe she has some sort of grand mission, maybe that mission is simply to live, to experience. No matter what, the player has played the game well

Gem who's entwined with the universe... it's champion.... The key to finally opening the end in the life series and fully immersed in the worlds she inhabits yet unimpeded by the laws that govern places such as empires.

You mentioned her hardcore worlds and that also reminds me of the time she got the villager origin in afterlife, and stuck to that village the entire series. She became it's stalwart protector up until her death. So even there she continues that theme.

The universe loves all it's players but it's like it's given her the master's key to unlock any door she wants, to dream however and wherever she wants to. To open a door in dawn and step out into hermitcraft, to open the end, to escape the end of a world, anywhere she wants to go, anywhere she wishes to dream. Perhaps even guide her here or there with a little blue flame? AUGH

My Intro Post!!

Hello and welcome to my blog!! My name’s Ari, but you can call me whatever idc. I’m a girl, a minor, an Aquarius if that matters to you and I have 2 younger brothers.

I lived in Australia for lots of my childhood however moved to Spain last year. I’ve done research and while different people seem to have different definitions of the term, I identify as Hispanic as I’m quite immersed in the Spanish culture, language, etc, never plan on leaving and have been raised like a Spanish kid (my parents have wanted to live here since they were kids so they’ve been preparing us for life here since we were newborn) even though I’m genetically Australian. If you believe I don’t fit the term idc that’s your opinion but this is how I identify.

I’ve been practicing witchcraft since late 2021 and believed in the Greek gods since I was a kid (because of PJO lol). I call myself a Greek pagan witch with animist and omnist beliefs, I believe the terms Hellenism and polytheism may apply but idk enough about them to use them to describe myself.

I started working with Aphrodite 4 days into my practice cuz I’m a bit silly however I’ve gotten more consistent and comfortable with my worship over time. Now working with her is just a part of my daily life, I love all her different epithets (I think is the word) she’s just so cool. I want to start working with King Hades and Queen Persephone in the future.

I’m trying to get better at note taking cuz I often forget. This blog is for saving notes #info, #paganism, #animism and #witchcraft stuff, I’ll post stuff related to #greek mythology under its own tag if not practitioner based, all deity/entity stuff is under its own tag (eg. #aphrodite, #hermes, #odysseus, #telemachus, etc).I also post related fandom stuff here like; #hades game, #pjo, #epic the musical, etc and stuff I’m more critical of like; #anti Madeline miller, #anti lore olympus under their own tags. I love spirit work and when I’m more experienced I plan on working with ghosts and animal spirits though currently I’m content just talking to my plants, house, divination tools and Aphrodite. I also want to start Ancestor Work soon. I’m a big fan of baneful protection magic and glamour/love magic. I’m pretty proud of my clair senses, intuition and divination abilities, I’ve always been an empath (my definition is; good at sensing energy and emotions) so I’ve put lots of effort into improving these skills which I’m quite happy with the strength of now.

I’m a nickname person, I have some of the best nicknames ever (Stariel was one and now it’s my user for everything) so now I give everyone/thing nicknames lol. Just a warning, if we become friends I’m giving you 10,000 nicknames. I’m also a yapper as you can see below, irl I’ve learned to contain and summarise my paragraphs but on tumblr I let myself go wild and add as many irrelevant details/thoughts I have so I apologise in advance for the essays.

Life needs mystery

Something I've been thinking about recently, is how following our curiosity and finding things out changes our lives forever. Like, for ages you drive by a long driveway and wonder who or what is down there, but then by some strange circumstance you end up there for an event or something and that mystery is gone. You know what's there now. And it could be a really fun place to be, but is it more fun than the mystery and speculation when you didn't know? And I never got to watch CaptainSparklez growing up because of my limited/restricted access to the internet. But, I would read the Minecraft handbooks and read about him and he was always this mysterious Minecraft legend. But, now that I watch some of his videos, I know who he is, and some of that mystery is gone. (Due to trying to keep up with Hermitcraft/life series and trying to live my own life I haven't actually watched a majority Jardon's videos yet, so a lot of that mystery is still there.) Same with Paulsoares jr. I watched I think it was his first video, but never continued. I would like to at some point though.

This also ties in to why I don't like Solo a star wars story. Yes, we were curious about Han's past, but he was supposed to be a man of mystery, with a questionable background. And now we know what his past was like, and he's not so mysterious anymore. It's also why I am extremely glad with, albeit infuriated by, the fact that no one will reveal Yoda's species. No one knows what to call his species, but it perfectly fits the "mysterious swamp wizard" thing he's got going. Like, in universe, no one knows what to call him. They wonder what species he is, so us not knowing adds an immersive aspect to it.

So, in exploring and following our curiosity, we lose a lot of mysteries. When you know every little thing about something it stops being fun. It's why the best shows often don't answer all the questions and leave room for speculation. It's also why cliffhangers are so annoying. Because the big obvious suspenseful question isn't getting answered, there's no resolution, and we don't see the little questions as much because we are so focused on the big question. Also, cliffhangers feel like betrayal but that's a different issue. The little questions are more wonderment and fascination where as cliffhangers are eternal suspense and frustration.

Life needs mysteries in order to be fun. Sometimes it's finding our own mysteries, other times creating mysteries for other people. Like, finding and exploring the secret garden and then keeping it a secret so it's a mystery for others.

My advice for this post is enjoy life's mysteries, stay curious, don't be afraid to learn something new, and also don't be afraid to be ok with not knowing everything.

Short story: the first Minecraft youtuber I ever watched was Thinknoodles, starting with old diversity episodes then Noodle Planet both of them being on the minecraft channel on Pluto tv on the roku. His tree house on the Noodle Planet inspired me to build above ground for once. Then when I wanted to improve my building skills I looked up tutorials on youtube and found Grian's build school. I remember him saying he was going to be joining hermitcraft and how he would have to get used to playing in survival. Then I followed him to hermitcraft and that remains my favorite server to this day. At some point I went and found his evo series and I haven't finished that either...
