Grief

You really never get over it; But you can get through it; the best way to get through it, is to stop focusing on what you don’t have and instead focus on all the things you do have. Pour that energy into fulfilling the promises made to those we’ve lost. Your acceptance of your new normal doesn’t mean you have forgotten them; quite the contrary you have decided to use what time you have left making them proud; and by doing so we allow them to continue on with their journey on the other side. We will see them again; but for now rest easy knowing you having you very own guardian angel lighting the path ahead of you. Don’t forget to be gentle with yourself along the way. Allow yourself to feel your feelings no matter what they may be from one moment to the next. But then recompose and get back to living. You can do this, I keep telling myself, you got this!!! Healing my way to happiness.....

12 years ago today i watched my daddy die. 12 years. That is such a long time...and I've got the rest of my life to go. Without him. I'd give ANYTHING for him to meet my baby girls. One year ago my siblings and myself had to endure the worst pain as a child, losing a parent. Jan. 2nd was the worst day of my life. I've lost so many people before and after that day, but nothing comes close to losing your Daddy. I still catch myself listening for his laugh and presence.
