Hi sorry I died for a while but I've been waiting for my computer to be fixed so I can draw pretty stuff again (yes it's taken like 6 months). Now please consider my thoughts on what animals different danganronpa characters would be
I tried to make sure there weren't any duplicates unless the characters are related and some of these I've put more thought into lol
Yasuhiro is a goat but like the fainting ones because it sounds funny and I can see him freezing up and falling over.
Junko and ikusaba are both chihuahuas because they're super cute but stereotypically people say they're little demons and that fits junko, she seems innocent but is just a big meanie. And I see ikusaba as being like a buff chihuahua who's all awkward but could eat you alive.
Makoto and Komaru are ferrets, ferrets need other ferrets for inrichment and that's basically makoto he wants friends to be happy. Also I think ferrets are very silly, I have 4 named noodle, little man, chonk, and rebel (like Starbuck).
Kyoko is a cat, I felt like a cat could match many different characters but I believe that she fits a cat the most. Cats are cute but pretty solitary also I think it matches with the fact she isn't very scary compared to some characters (ik she's like mysterious type scary and stone cold but I think she's a cutie).
Fukawa is a skunk bc she's stinky.
Byakuya is a cheetah and I thought about this quite a bit, I had a few different ideas on what to pick but honestly I think since he's blonde he's obviously a cheetah!! Duh!!
Asahina is an otter bc swimming and cute.
Sakura... I had so much trouble deciding this one ommmgg 😭 I was thinking about bigger animals and like martial arts and I was thinking about a gorilla and how they like punch their chests. It's the best I could come up with.
Leon is a weasel because I could see a weasel trying baseball and not liking it very much.
Sayaka is a panda because people love pandas and I could see a panda singing pop music.
Chihiro is a bunny because cute and small, also he's like Judy hops cuz he and her wanna prove they're stronge or smth 💪🏻
Mondo is an alligator bc grrrr scary 🐊
Hijumi is a walrus bc his lips kinda look like a walrus and he's chunky like a walrus, I thought of a hamster too but I thought it fit another character better.
Ishimaru I can see being a Labrador dog bc he's a silly little guy. He'd be the dog that barks at flys.
Celeste is a fruit bat bc vampire bat is what she wishes she was so she tries to be scary and goth but she's just a cute fuzz baby.
Nagito is a wolf bc he's literally wolf in sheep's clothing but he's also kinda cute.
Hajime is a panther who doesn't know how to be a panther, he tries to be a house cat.
Teruteru is a mouse bc ratatouille but I wanted him to be a mouse bc they're smaller and I think someone else fits the rat better.
Twogami I was thinking maybe a pig who wears cheetah fur or smth, like he wears the animal skin of what he's imitating.
Pekoyama is a gazelle bc they're coooool.
Mahiru is a red panda cuz they're small and cute and red like her hair
Soda is a rat bc I can imagine him being a sewer rat who smells bad in his silly little jumper.
Sonia is a swan bc they're elegant and pretty like a princess.
Fuyuhiko is a honey badger bc they're not very big but they give 0 fucks abt anything.
Tanaka is a Vulture and everyone's like 'whaaat a vulture taking care of hamsters???? Craaazy he'll eat them' but really he loves his little guys and would never.
Nekomaru is a lion bc team work and big.
Akane is a jaguar bc big and grrrr.
Chiaki is a sugar glider bc tiny and cute.
Saionji is the basilisk bc I can see her Jesus running on water.
Ibuki is a parrot bc caawww and repeating people and singing bird.
Mikan is a possum bc they faint when scared and that's funny haha but also I think they're cute.
Kamukura is a panther but he knows how to be a panther and doesn't wanna be a house cat like Hajime.
Shuichi is a coyote bc he ain't a big wolf but he isn't a tiny dog, he's like in the middle and he's adaptable I'd say.
Kaede is a spider monkey cuz they're like very social but can be aggressive and I think kaede is a more bold but friendly character (ignoring pregame)
Amami is idk!!! I thought about it alot and I stuck with a tortus or a super chill deer.
Maki is like a black mamba cuz they're fast and when I think of an assassin I think of snakes. Also I believe black mambas aren't super aggressive unless bothered and I think this applies to Maki. She isn't aggressive really for no reason she might be sassy sometimes but she isn't gonna throttle you for no reason at all.
Himiko is a dove bc magician.
Kiibo is a chicken bc it made me think of the robot chicken TV channel thing.
Tsumugi is a fox bc cute and pretty but sneaky and will probably give you rabies.
Kirumi is an owl because she seems wise and owls are usually depicted as wise in media.
Ryouma is a poison dart frog bc tiny but will kill you with his tennis balls.
Korekiyo is a giraffe bc tall and lanky.
Tenko is a mongoose and honestly idk why I couldn't think of anything else except maybe that lizard that's like only girls and reproduces asexually so they're all female lizards.
Angie is an African wolf dog bc they work really well when hunting and it would be her little cult of dogs.
Kaito is a border collie bc they're really smart but cute and people always assume they're dumb but they're very smart and everyone says Kaito is dumb but honestly he's gotta be smart to be an astronaut.
Kokichi is a racoon bc he's a trash panda who would also give you rabies.
Miu is a pelican bc she has a big mouth and doesn't shut upppppp!!
Gonta Is an eleghant bc usually elephants are pretty chill and they're suuuuper cute and big.
OK thanks for listening to my Ted talk I might post drawings of chiaki soon bc she's my favorite female danganronpa character and I love her

the boys as bodyguards
dedicated to absolutely no one. sure this is an asks blog - does that mean i have to actually answer them? i know i know bad admins bad admins whatcha gonna do whatcha gonna do when they come for you but i had a dream ages ago now that involved bodyguards, tsunamis, and also a shit ton of murder. don't ask. anyway, it got me pondering. and then it took literal months to write this so i figured i'd post what i've got so far, and maybe i'll update with the rest of the boys later, depending on how well this does/how much time i have
hanamiya makoto
hanamiya’s the package deal
he’s the chief advisor; he’s the doctor; he’s the bodyguard; he’s the sniper. just a right hand man in every way possible.
i mean, he’s not literally your right hand man: he’s the leader of a team, and often it’ll be one of his men there next to you at events, but he’s always supervising or coordinating or collecting intel
ie he’s dedicated to his job. he does like engineering spider’s webs after all.
having said that, he’s also an uncontrollable prick
he’s the best at giving you advice, both in terms of navigating high society and in terms of actual business advice, but is he going to give that advice without slipping in a snide comment about how you should really know all this by now? when you tell him to make sure to take a break some time, is he going to stop himself from saying “maybe if you weren’t so incredibly useless on your own, i’d be able to.”
and sure maybe he’s breaking the universal declaration of human rights with what he does to the people who dare to try harm you, but you don’t know about that
need to know basis type beat
you don’t even have access to the full floor plans of your own property, which includes a basement you’ll never know about, let alone step foot in. hanamiya keeps that information very close to his chest.
gotta make sure his employer has plausable deniability
gotta make double sure that you don’t find out about half the things he does - from the ways he sources his information, to his very dodgy organised crime links, to the number of people that have sadly lost their lives in the name of “fuck it, you’re pissing me off” - because he hates when you bang on about bullshit like “laws” and “morals”
after all, if everyone followed your beloved laws and morals, then you’d have no need for his services
as he always tells you, he’s just your pet necessary evil
yamazaki hiroshi
i reckon he only got into the bodyguard business because he spent his childhood wanting to be a samurai but, well you know, that’s not really a job opportunity anymore
what it does mean though is that he’s all about bushido: mastering his work, bravery, honesty, etc - and above all else loyalty to one’s employer
on a random thursday afternoon, he’ll tell you, completely nonchalantly, straight face, “i would die for you if that’s what it takes. on my life, i’ll always keep you safe.”
you’re staring at him like wtf and/or trying to stop yourself blushing, but he thinks that’s a completely normal thing to say cause he’s just following bushido
of course, late one night, he’ll wake up realise how weird that came across and he’ll spend the next week trying not to blush whenever you talk to him
just like the time he spent a week kicking himself after you walked in on him training, shirtless and rather sweaty, and when you told him he should take a break, he said “but i need to train so my body can be at its best for you”
again, at the time that sounded very reasonable, serious, and totally bushido to him. it’s only later that he’s freaking out in his room like why in god’s name did he say that.
but hey that’s bodyguard!yamazaki for you. a little weird, a little socially inept, but loyal to a fault
haizaki shougo
can you imagine the number of jobs that this man has lost for sleeping on the job?
he’s only got his current gig looking after you because his prices are cheaper and you were getting desperate to find someone in your budget
he’s a ...uhh… unique bodyguard? in the sense that he’ll get you out of harms way eventually, but "eventually" is the key word there
haizaki actively ignores intel that a certain location might be dangerous, because he really just wants to get into fights. sure you might get in the way occasionally, maybe even get some nasty bruises, but hey you get what you pay for.
you want a good bodyguard, save up some money, idiot.
literally the only reason he got into being a bodyguard is so he can beat people up legally (and because he got dishourably discharged from the military); he doesn’t care that much about the whole ‘protecting’ side of things
he’s also the type to ditch you the minute a better paying job comes up (possibly combat work as a mercenary). however he’s not as cold-hearted as he may seem, and he’ll happily spend a day of leave breaking into your penthouse
so that when you return in the evening, he’s there sat on an armchair, grinning smugly, “man your security’s turned to shit since i left.”
shortly followed by, “miss me?”
jason silver
jason’s the quintessential bodyguard, cause, after all, having a very muscular 6’11 man follow you everywhere you go isn’t exactly subtle
but he’s recognisable for other reasons as well.
like the fact that he’ll accompany you to formal balls, and he’ll be the only man there with an undone tie - it’s such a massive argument trying to get him to wear an appropriate suit instead of his usual hoodies and sweatpants, that can anyone blame you for not having the energy to insist he stops undoing his tie as well?
he’s also not exactly one for professionality. like you’ll be minding your business, trying to network, and suddenly you’ll hear a wolf whistle by your ear and a “wouldn’t mind me a bit of that”
“jason, that’s the ambassador to norway. we’re having her over for dinner next week, so, with all due respect, shut the fuck up. and whisper next time, for heaven’s sake! what if someone had heard you?”
“shit, is it a crime to like some nice tits in this economy?”
and when you glare at him, genuinely furious, he grins, puts his hands up, and says, “sorry, sorry. forgot you don’t like me having eyes for anyone else, boss.”
but don’t get me wrong, jason’s not all evil contra to fujimaki’s propaganda
he is an incredibly good bodyguard - those animal instincts really help him out when it comes to getting you out of a sniper’s line of sight, or saving you from a bullet, or just assessing a room for potential entry points. and he packs a mean punch if anyone tries to try something on you, a solid ko.
no one’s getting past him essentially
the only problem is that it’s incredibly difficult to thank jason for saving your life, cause the last thing he needs is an ego boost or feeling like you owe him.
“seriously jason. i don’t know how i can ever repay you.”
“usually the payslip’s enough,” he smirks, “but you know that little lady ambassador-“
unsuprisingly, he’s not invited to the dinner.

"Be still, don't move" + Makoto/Nagito
(Okay, I leaned pretty wholesome for the Kamuegi one, and I already have a hunch that this one is taking my brain in another direction, lol. If someone wants wholesome Komaegi, all you have to do is ask!)
...
Makoto woke to the sound of someone humming.
His whole body was sore– a soreness only interrupted by a few distinct points of sharp pain –but he could feel that he was in a pretty comfortable bed. As he worked his eyes open, he had to fight against the interference of crusted tears that seemed to momentarily cement them shut. Which told him that he'd been asleep for longer than normal.
"Ah. I thought my terrible singing might wake you up. Sorry about that."
He focused his gaze on the face hovering nearby. He felt the vague, niggling familiarity that meant he was supposed to remember that face. He'd recovered a lot of his school memories, with the Future Foundation's help, but some things took longer to come back than others. And surviving a helicopter crash didn't help.
Wait! The helicopter!
"I was just very excited to get to tend to your wounds, is all," the stranger (or non-stranger) continued. His tangled, white hair stuck out in so many directions, it seemed to defy gravity; a ratty, striped shirt hung loose on his narrow frame; and a peculiar radiance in his eyes spoke to an excitement that was triumphing soundly over a deep physical exhaustion. "Of course, for your sake, I wish you had someone a lot more competent to assist you. But for my own, well...I am of course more than glad to serve you any way I can." A pink flush filled his cheeks as he offered up a strangely enthusiastic smile.
Makoto shook his head, baffled beyond words. "Serve me? Where are we? Where's...?" He shut his eyes for a moment, focusing. "I was in a helicopter. The...The city was under attack, and my sister...My friends..."
"Wow! You're so selfless, for someone who broke his leg in a helicopter crash."
He noticed, then, that his knee had been crudely bandaged into a thick makeshift cast. "Broke my leg?"
"Well, I'm no doctor, so I suppose you can take my words with a few grains of salt. It might not be exactly broken, but...I wouldn't recommend trying to walk on it."
Oh, that was never in question.
"It's funny. Your sister isn't nearly this injured. Did you try to shield her with your body, or...are you just that unlucky?" He seemed to delight in the question.
"You saw my sister?! Where is she?"
The delighted expression sobered into an apologetic smile. "I’m sorry to say that she isn’t here. She was made a prisoner of the Warriors of Hope. Ah, sorry! I shouldn't use such an inapt title in front of you, of all people. But I was able to hide you away from them. Fortunately, this house’s previous owners no longer have need of it. Very lucky for us, don’t you think?"
The second reference to luck stirred something in Makoto's mind. A name was trying to rise to the surface, very slowly...But he couldn't focus on that right now. "Who are the Warriors of Hope? What do you mean, my sister is their prisoner? And...are we still in Towa City? How long was I asleep?" His voice cracked as it became too painful to support it; it felt like he might have at least one bruised rib.
The non-stranger laid a pacifying hand on him, smiling besottedly. "There's no need to strain yourself. The world's savior has more than earned a nice, comfy spectator seat for this round. It's someone else's responsibility to prove hope supreme, right now. It would be far too easy for you. Not worth your time."
"But you said my sister is someone's prisoner!" Makoto tried to sit up, but the pacifying hand turned restraining, guiding him back down to the bed. He couldn't try again; the pain that had flared in his ribs would have grounded him if the hand hadn't.
"Be still; don't move. Ahh, the pull to heroism that emanates from you...It's a good thing I'm here to serve you, or who knows what you'd get into. Haha, just imagining it almost makes me feel faint..." One of his hands grasped his opposite arm, whereas the other remained in his lap. The latter was covered by a thick-looking mitten. (It reminded Makoto of Mukuro's tattoo and Kyoko's scars.) He looked giddy, exultant, and it didn't make sense. It didn't go with the horrible things he'd said. Something was seriously wrong here!
A part of a memory came into focus. A part of a name. "Ko...Ko-something..."
The non-stranger froze, suddenly looking almost fearful.
"Isn't that your name?" Makoto asked. "I'm sorry, I still have trouble remembering some things..."
Kyoko and Byakuya both had warned against being too open about what he did and didn't remember. They said that telling anyone how unreliable the recovered memory sometimes was, risked informing enemies that they could pretend to be friends. He knew that he should be more careful, but he couldn't shake the feeling that this person was a friend, or close to a friend. Maybe...a fond acquaintance?
But the look of alarm on his face seemed to mean Makoto had made some kind of mistake. "There's no need to remember me! I'm nobody. I don't deserve to be named by someone as incredible as you. Oh, I certainly hope you haven't been wasting your mental energy on something so pointless. I wouldn't forgive myself!"
"Hey, it's okay," Makoto said. "Please, I just-" He winced. Yeah, too much talking for his poor ribs. "Just need you to explain," he whispered, "what's going on here. The city, my sister..."
Ko-something's face softened at the first sign of pain. He dabbed the sweat from Makoto's face with a cold rag, smiling dreamily all the while. "Poor hope. As I said, you're not allowed to be the hero for this round. Your sister is alive. The city is...well, it's certainly not thriving any longer, but it's not entirely defenseless, either. And you are perfectly safe here. I will use my every breath to ensure that, especially."
Makoto wanted to say something, but the throbbing in his ribs forced him to just focus on breathing, for now. There were so many things he needed to follow up on, with this person he had definitely known before. Why was there a chain around his neck? Why did he seem to know everything that was happening? What was happening? Where did he know him from? Was it from Hope's Peak? What did he mean when he said he didn't deserve to be named? And what did he mean by all that servant stuff? Why had he saved Makoto and not Komaru, if they had been in the same crash? If it was just Ko-something alone, it probably would have been impossible for him to carry two people at once...Most likely, he'd carried Makoto first, because he was so injured, and then he'd gone back for Komaru and found she'd been abducted by those Warriors of Hope people. That made sense, right?
And he still hadn't gotten an explanation about the Warriors of Hope. The name sounded friendly, but the assertion that they were keeping Komaru prisoner definitely didn't. Ko-something had said the title was inapt.
There was so much going on, and breathing hurt.
"My friends," he said weakly.
"They're both alive, too," Ko-something assured him sweetly. "Everyone is alright. They all have their parts to play. And you" (He wiped the cool rag over Makoto's lips, even though there definitely wasn't any sweat there. He did sometimes drool in his sleep; maybe some of that had dried on him?) "just have to enjoy your vacation. Consider me entirely at your disposal to make your stay here more comfortable. Unfortunately, I can't always be at your side; I do have another job. But I'll give you a way to call me, and I promise you I will always rush right over. Nothing over there is more important to me than you. Oh! And you can call me Servant." That smile seemed...really genuine.
Komaeda. That was his name. Komaeda. And...he was from Hope's Peak. Another class. Another...
"You're like me," Makoto realized. "Ultimate Lucky Student."
Komaeda's smile tensed into a rictus of...what looked bizarrely like shame? "You can call me Servant," he reiterated, almost desperately. "Or whatever else you'd like to call me. I can understand if you don't think someone as unworthy as me should be allowed to be called a servant to the Ultimate Hope himself."
"This is wrong....I...I just-"
"I'm privileged to be under the sound of your voice, but I think you should hold off on talking much right now. It's clearly taking a toll, and I wouldn't be a very good servant if I let you puncture a lung." He presented a bottle of medicine and poured a bit of it into the cap. Makoto noticed he held the bottle between his knees to open it, rather than using both hands; his covered hand still lay in his lap. But he did use that hand to hold the cap steady while he poured into it. "This should help with the pain and help you to get some real sleep. Here."
As Komaeda brought the medicine to Makoto's lips, he could just hear what Byakuya, Toko, or Hiro would say about accepting medicine from someone so suspicious. But...he was already at Komaeda's mercy in every other way. He couldn't move, couldn't leave. His hacking gun was nowhere to be seen, and he had no way of calling for help, at least for now. If Komaeda wanted to hurt him, why would he have gone to the trouble of bandaging him and...?
After only a moment's hesitation, Makoto parted his lips and took the medicine.
Komaeda's pupils dilated slightly. "Thank you for your trust," he breathed, maybe more exultantly than Makoto would have liked. "I swear, for all my filthy word is worth, that you will not regret it. I'll guard you with my worthless life, I'll keep you abreast of all the good news, I'll attend to your every need until my final breath. Of course, I mean, until the battle is won. Of course, I will return you to your friends once the danger has passed. Yes, of course."
The tone Komaeda used when he said "of course" reminded Makoto of the many times Komaru had dismissively said that she'd get to something "later" and then inevitably forgot.
"Komaeda?" he tried to say, but he found that his speech slurred on the way out. He blinked and found that his eyelids were heavy.
"Shhh," the upperclassman shushed him, with adoration in his eyes that didn't match the friendly but casual rapport Makoto remembered from school. "Don't fight it. As I said, my hope deserves a good rest. I'll be back with your dinner by the time you wake up. I'll...try to have something that's worth eating, heheh."

A few thoughts on yukari I wanted to write down.
Some people say yukari is very mean to junpei and while yes she does bicker with him a lot it never felt mean spirited. The way they behave always makes me think they act like siblings annoying each other most of the time.
They annoy each other but neither take it seriously, except the one time in the story yukari tried to do the same "are you scared?" junpei did before to try to cheer him up and it backfired and yet it's clear it was never her intention to make fun of him she was just trying to do what they always do to make the situation less serious. It's nice instances like this happens in p3 where characters take the wrong approach to a situation it's what makes them so human.
In arena yukari is the one who warns junpei about what is going on and tells him to go to inaba and he goes right away. And during the events we can see them annoying each other to make the situation less serious. So to me they are close friends that just like annoying each other.
Pretty sure both yukari and junpei would jump to defend each other if someone was being actually mean to the other. A fun fact is that in the official design works it's stated junpei is into fashion so I can imagine them talking about that.
Another point is the need for charm to be maxed so she even thinks about giving Makoto a chance. Saw people saying she may not want to be seen with someone who isn't her level but I don't think that's the issue here.
We need to consider that you can only start her social link after yakushima trip, after she opens up to Makoto at the beach and he comforts her. Before that, she shots down any attempt of him being flirty with her. She is keeping her distance like she does with everyone else. She is hesitant to get closer to him due to her family issues even though she feels a connection to him.
I think charm being maxed is just what makes her put down her walls and talk to him. As I like to believe with charm maxed and the amount of time passed he seems more approachable than at the start.
Also love how junpei reacts if Makoto says he is interested in yukari. He is just like "I knew it!" like he was definitely shipping them the whole year.

Hello!! For the event, can I please ask a,b, and i for Aira, and Makoto?
Tumblr media
SHIRATORI AIRA & YUUKI MAKOTO + A, B, I
warnings: none
Tumblr media
a = affection (how affectionate are they? how do they show affection?)
Aira is extremely affectionate. He’s even the heart suit in his card-themed idol unit. After all, love is… Well, to put it simply, love is rave~ly! That’s basically his brand! Despite the fact that he’s not so keen on getting affection so much as he is on giving it, he does unconsciously crave human contact, so do expect to get a lot of touches from him. Simple yet intimate things, like hand-holding and back-hugging. Other things like kissing only come after time. He’s still figuring out a lot of stuff, so the line between platonic and romantic tends to blur quite a bit for him. But fear not. Aira is, at heart, someone with a lot of love to share, both with the world and with you.
Makoto’s a little awkward with his affection. He’s torn between wanting to shower you with love but at the same time, not wanting to be too much. He’s constantly overthinking, so it’s more than likely that you’re going to have to be the one who initiates the majority of the contact between you both. Once you make the first move, Makoto slowly loses his hesitancy and will gladly reciprocate. Even small things, like linking your pinkies together or tucking his hair behind his ear, is enough to get him all shy and flustered, which is cute. And those rare moments he does initiate affection? They are quite the turnaround from his usual personality, yet you still manage to find it adorable.
b = babe (what would they use as pet names? do they use them a lot?)
Aira’s choice of pet names are simple. Common things, but filled with meaning, like ‘babe’ or ‘love’. He’s not big on using them, to be honest. He’d much prefer saying your name, or otherwise using the prefix ‘my’, when referring to you. For example: my partner. My lover. That sort of thing. The other way around, however, is a completely different story. Using pet names on Aira? He’s done for. Simply saying the words ‘love’ and ‘Aira’ in the same sentence is enough to get him all flustered, so imagine how he feels when you say them right to his face. Aira, my sweetheart, my darling,  and suddenly he’s dead and gone. Error 404, Aira.exe has stopped working.
For Makoto, cheesy pet names are the way to go. He’s the kind of person to jokingly call you his ‘Player Two’ much to your surprise and embarrassment. He’s a little more confident in his words, when it’s just you and him–no one else watching–so he’s less hesitant to tease you. ‘Babe’ and ‘my love’ are just a few examples of common pet names he has for you. He’ll switch it up occasionally, just because he can, leaving you a flustered mess when he goes from calling you ‘cutie’ to calling you ‘my beloved’. Of course, when you turn the tables on him, it’s not so funny anymore. When you call him ‘baby’ or ‘sweetheart’, it’s a surefire shot straight through his heart!
i = i love you (how fast do they say the l-word?)
For Aira, the word love comes as easy as breathing. He loves a lot of things, and he’s not afraid to show it. He loves idols, and he loves being an idol, and he loves his unitmates and friends… Even his catch-phrase contains the word ‘love’. Rave~ly! However, don’t be fooled. The moment Aira declares his love for you–confirming it with that three-word phrase that starts with ‘I’ and ends with ‘love you’–will most likely be entirely on accident. He’s so used to speaking his mind about all the things he loves (idols, being an idol, his roommates, his unitmates, Kohakucchi…) that it doesn’t occur to him to do anything different when he adds one more thing to the list (you).
With Makoto, saying the L-word takes a bit of time. He’s not one to needlessly spill his emotions out, a gushing waterfall of feelings. He prefers to let things take their own course, and then say what he needs to when the time is right. Makoto wouldn’t tell you he loves you unless he’s certain of the direction your relationship is going in. For one thing, if he says it too early, there’s a lot of pressure on the both of you–especially if you don’t reciprocate. But he also doesn’t want to say it too late, making you feel unloved. He’ll build off of what he already knows. Still, actions over words is what Makoto believes in, and when has he ever made you feel like he doesn’t love you?

(Sleep-deprived anon) Alright since you picked either 1 or 2, I’ll explain 1 first:
Suspiciously a number of our targets were noted to be “phantoms” on the site (and were also talking to someone unknown) and Igor notes at the start of the third palace arc that Wonder and his Phantom Thieves are not the only ones with their desire related power. Ruferu has mentioned there’s about 7 palaces to deal with, so assuming Katayama doesn’t need to have her heart changed (as she was a victim of Akashi’s manipulations) and based off P5’s original story we’ll face the human mastermind (who’s either Magatsukami themselves or someone related) in Palace 7 then face the true Metaverse big bad after. The weakest link for this theory is that while we know who made the Phan-Site, we have no clues on who made Magatsushin.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
(Follow-up to this ask.)
Oh, wow, you had a lot to say! Ah, heh, for future reference, maybe send in a single submission, instead of several asks, just to make it easier to keep everything together? I think this works okay, though!
Just right off the bat, I'm right there with you expecting the final Palace to belong to our human big bad/mastermind, whether that's Magatsukami or someone else. But you bring up Katayama and Akashi, which reminds me- Ruferu said he sensed seven Treasures, not seven Palaces. We saw Katayama's Treasure already, so unless Akashi doesn't have one somehow, that seems to indicate that Chapter 3 is knocking out two of the Treasures from that list, even if it's only one Palace. So if that's the case, unless something else strange is going on, I think that might actually indicate Palace #6 will be our final one? Not counting any Depths of Mementos trip (or equivalent dungeon preceding the actual final boss of the game, whatever false deity is behind this), of course. That doesn't necessarily impact your theory, besides changing the numbers, but since you brought it up I wanted to note that.
As for preventing any "bad endings" just because it's a mobile game, I'm not sure if that's an assumption we can necessarily make for sure. Bad endings due to player choice, you're probably correct, since at the moment there's no way to go back and change any choice you make except for romancing a character. But, as you connect that to Wonder's visions, I do think it's possible we might be given a bad ending within the story, that also gets overturned by the story? For instance, if Wonder's visions turn out to be because of time travel, maybe he does everything correctly up until the end, but then doesn't have a vision to save him, and has to go back and redo it. Again, probably not quite what you meant, but I think it's worth taking into account.
That's a good catch about the MetaNav icon, though! I know there was a lot of discussion about that icon on this blog in the past, but that was before the characters directly acknowledged that it looks like Ouroboros except it's not eating its tail, which certainly calls attention to it. The idea that it might symbolize a cycle being disrupted seems like a really good theory; I have to wonder if whatever cycle it refers to is the same one that's giving Wonder these visions/possible memories.
I'm not quite sure I see how the parallels between our new cast and the original Phantom Thieves are connected to your theory here, but the parallels are definitely present! I suppose, in light of new information, it could be related to however the collab factors into the main plot of the game?
It'd be cool if Polter got manipulated into hunting down the PT somehow! That might parallel Makoto, in that case? I do currently agree that she's most likely going to be related to the fourth Palace in some way, though, unless they're planning a surprise reveal of some kind for the end of Chapter 3. I could sort of imagine them revealing that maybe Akashi consulted at Kiga High before Kokatsu, and perhaps Polter was affected by his policies/whoever he targeted there...? It might make the end of Chapter 3 feel a bit too crowded, though, so Polter being relevant to Chapter 4 feels more likely to me.

Note
YOU
I see you like the warriors of hope from danganronpa
Any hcs you can share?
Finally! /hj
Quite a few, tho they may not be the best lol😅
Also, influenced by my 'Princess of Light' AU—basically a universe where Monaca met Makoto instead and was inpired by him.
Oh, and the rest of the Warriors are yanderes cause why not?
If anyone wanna check it out, here! I have some hcs that are specific for that au as well—if anyone is interested, I can post those too.
Anywho, hcs. Tw: angst, dark stuff. I'll add some silly fluff ones at the end so just scroll there if you wanna avoid the heavier drabbles
Monaca Towa
I have a feeling that Monaca is a bit like Cruella and/ or Himiko Toga. She already had some questionable tendencies that only worsen with the way she was treated; she just needed some help but we know how that ended up
Monaca def has a sibling complex. I think she always just wanted a family. No matter what, it's a fact: she was just a kid; a half-sibling was still a sibling to her, yet Haiji was absolutely disgusted by her very existence. (As someone with two older siblings I can't even imagine the pain)
I mean, just look at her wiki. The way it describes what others, what Haiji thought if her? Her own quotes? Yikes
Which is probably why she was so quickly and obsessively attached with Junko; the person who could be her sister—her family
Wanna know the 'best part'? It is canon that she knew perfectly well that Junko not only didn't actually care for them but was using them too. Ouch
Nagisa Shingetsu
Due to what his parents put him through, he abhors games where you have to grind or constantly level up.
He does however love cute casual/ mindless stuff; games where you can just turn off your brain and enjoy yourself—games where you don't need to be perfect, you can just be you
He is either completely terrified or utterly apathetic to needles. Like when the school nurse come to give the annual shot, he's either gonna break down or be like 'huh, another one.'
Pretty numb to sensations most of the time. Especially bad during exam week or if his parents have a new theory they wanna 'try out'
Kotoko Utsugi
Panics when men get into her personal space—espeacially fearful of the older/ bigger ones
Has dark tendencies too; it's unfair that she had to go through the abuse, so why not share the pain?
She'd tear some of the girls' skirt or top, or splash water onto them.
She wants other girls to be tainted so that she herself feels less dirty
When she used to act in school plays, she tried to spend as much time at rehearsals so that she didn't have to at her 'other job'
Probably has an eating disorder—mostly cause her mom keeps telling her she needs to be cute or else she is worthless
Jataro Kemuri
His obsession with hatred comes from the belief that while he is despised he is still paid attention too
Afterall, hate and love aren't opposites—they're paralells. Apathy is the true opposite
Jataro would pick being degraded and laughed at 1000× over being ignored
His worst experience was when his mom got so fed up that she didn't even get mad at him, just glared and walked away. A whole day of damning silence
Also, likely why he says random stuff; it confuses others and gives him their attention, if momentarily
Masaru Daimon
Due to his dad's addictions, Masaru flinches at the sight of a lighter
Additionally, he really hates strong smelling substances
He learnt how to patch himself and knew basic medical skills at a young age
As we've seen, he can also be self destructive; bruising himself when he feels like he's not living up to the title of 'Hero'
Lived off instant foods since his dad only gave him meager pocket change for it.
Now, onto the more light-hearted ones!
They like playing the Sims and/ or Minecraft together! Kotoko would design their characters and work with Jataro to build their house; Nagisa prefers playing free/ creative mode cause there's no goals or restrictions to abide; Masaru would likely be the only one hyped to finish certain milestones purely to brag; Monaca, well, she's gonna unleash all her pent up frustrations on those poor Sims/ mobs.
They used to have movie nights together! It was Kotoko's idea since it was an adorbs trend. Initially it was just the girls but eventually the guys joined too. They usually do it either at Monaca's place or very rarely at Jataro's.
They each have different love languages! Jataro's is physical touch, since he never recieved anything from his mother due to her disgust of him; Masaru's is words of affirmation as his dad never really said anything good about him and only talked when necessary; Kotoko's is quality time—since, prior to Monaca, people only interact/ spend time with her they have an ulterior motive; Nagisa's is acts of service—as he never had someone do something for him that didn't harm him; finally, Monaca's is gifts—she's the girl who has everything, but feels like she has nothing—a present, no matter how big or small, as long as it is genuine is precious to her
Speaking of, Monaca prob has a few gifts from the Warriors, and possibly even her other classmates, that she keeps. She says it's just for future blackmail but her heart says otherwise
Masaru is actually a pretty decent cook! He had grown tired of fast food so much he actually learnt how to make some basic meals. He sometimes even cooks for the others—mostly to impress them but still! Though he much prefers eating then preparing the meals
Jataro is awful at cooking tho—in fact, he's banned from the kitchen. He tends to get distracted and ends up putting random things into the mix
I have a feeling that all the Warriors have a 'liking' to Monaca, by different degrees however: Nagisa's is of course pupply love; Masaru thinks that they belong together since he's the Hero and she's the Princess; Kotoko probably sees her as a pure untainted angel that needs to be protected; and Jataro... well, maybe he's just confused lol

persona 5 party and how gay I think they are (also I get very distracted writing post canon ideas and write a lot about haru)
(also disclaimer I'm going to be describing anime girls as butch and femme I know that NONE of these characters are anywhere close to butch because the men who made this game don't know what that is. I'm talking pure head canons. I promise I'm not trying to convince you haru as she exists is butch)
joker - he's a he/him lesbian and if you don't see it I hope you get better.
ryuji - dude doesn't know what he is. people keep telling him he's bi and has had it explained many times but it doesn't add up in his brain.
morgana - your kitty hatred has blinded you from the fact that there's something gender in this cat. nobody knows not even him. nobody has really bothered to figure out.
ann - I could go one of two ways with ann. on one hand she's got like a real adult job and defined sense of style so I could see that just being how she carries herself for a long time but also she's like 17? I could easily see her having a breakdown and completely restyling herself into something more punk and alt because of how much of her image was built up by people not around her. oh she's a lesbian also but you knew that.
yusuke - the least gay. dude is like harry styles or that soccer mom that looks like a lesbian. he just dresses like that and is like "what??? no I don't like men how silly." maybe he'll like men later once he stops being absolutely weird to people and asking them to strip for him but right now he's the straight one to me. (am I a yusuke hater yes)
makoto - makoto is a lesbian and makoto is more femme than you think actually. like after she gives up on being a cop and decides to do literally anything else she relaxes and connects with a feminity she never got to fully explore. she can't really leave her old style behind fully and is probably ending up a he/she and just presents differently based on the day.
futaba - futaba is our most obvious contender for a trans woman lesbian as well as a character who's already trans before the events of the game but honestly imagining that I think that would mean she has the most awful 4chan brainworms about being trans and combined with her depression it she ends up with a lot of self loathing. it's a bad time and as makoto learns more about how she wants to present she realizes how insane futaba sounds (a fight breaks out when futaba calls makoto a theyfab).
or honestly? I can kind of see trans guy or cis ally lesbian futaba? like I could them being the absolute weird 4chan trans lesbian but I could also see her being the kind of girl who trans girls flock to because she's pretty and is also way too online. and then she's like mid 20s and is dating a trans girl she met off 2chan and being like "I used to say kek but if you call someone a passoid one more time I'm going to fucking destroy you."
haru - I said makoto was more femme than you think and maybe you saw this coming but haru is more butch than you think. similar to ann her entire aesthetic is built by what was expected of her and now that she's free of that she kind of accidentally falls into something more butch. I think an underrated aspect of haru's character is how much she enjoys violence.
like obviously we talk about sadist haru as a haha funny but I find something very compelling about the fact that haru has an intrinsic enjoyment of combat. other female characters like ann and makoto talk about feeling uncomfortable and scared in the metaverse while it seems to be a fantastic stress relief for haru. it's probably the most physical activity she's ever done. her satisfaction doesn't come from taking down a target (because you know. taking down her dad didn't go well and then after that she's in the endgame where it's really really do or die). it comes from the process of being in the metaverse and fighting shadows.
and she learns that working up a sweat, destroying things, and getting her heart racing are all things she learns are good for her mentally. after the events of the game when her outlet for that is gone she tries to find something more sustainable to do with her energy from fencing (a safe form of combat and competition), to weightlifting (so she build up more muscles now that she can't summon a persona), and finding something like axe throwing to do as a way to use an axe of some sort again.
I think her green thumb nature stops her form getting a lumberjack occupation so she doesn't get much excuse to use a full size axe and something more aggressive like boxing or MMA she doesn't actually have it in her to hurt someone else so intentionally like that. so she isn't fully back to where she was mentally when fighting shadows but its a routine that really works for her and allows her to relieve stress and gets her stronger so she can work on her gardening which gets more and more physically demanding as she expands her garden more and more.
I think one time the group meets up for the first time after a few months maybe a year and someone (probably ryuji) is like "damn haru you're like the most built of any of us now! right on man!" and haru is like "huh?" because she still sees herself as the way she had been set up to see herself for her teen years. she spends that night looking at old photos of herself and it finally hits her how much her freedom has changed her for the better. how when she was 17 she couldn't have imagined what she would be like now but now she can't imagine anything else.
I still think she dresses femme pretty often when she's going out to fancy parties for work or meeting up with friends. she hasn't given up anything from exporing this part of herself. she's just become a more well rounded (and far too busy) person.
oh uh where was I?
oh yeah she's bisexual. by the way.
akechi - oh this is a gay boy. he thinks joker is into him but joker thinks akechi is also a lesbian. like when akechi kills joker in the interrogation room he's like "so sad to kill the only gay guy I know my age. if things were different..." and then in third semester joker is like "I heard the recording. I'm a lesbian are you not a lesbian???"
yoshizawa - dog I don't know what her deal is. honestly I think she's straight. she doesn't seem like she thinks about romance enough to have an opinion so she's probably comphet.
sophie - she likes girls but doesn't know why. (I could probably write a lot of thoughts about sophia being an AI and how she sees love but the post fell off the rails once and I haven't played strikers since it came out so)
zenkichi - dude is too sad about being a single dad to realize he's probably bisexual.

Of An Endless Infinity: Day Eight (II)
Summary: What does it mean to be the Ultimate Hope?
Is it only hope on the big scale?  That the world is not so dark and depressing and destructive as the villain in front of you says it is?  That you can win, even when everything else says that you can’t?  That maybe it is better to live your life, even afraid, than it is to keep yourself sequestered away, alone?
Does it not also mean hope on the small scale?
Or: Makoto sacrifices himself in the hope that the other survivors might be able to help Junko. It remains to be seen whether this will actually succeed.
Chapter Rating: T. Fic Rating: M for Danganronpa reasons.

Day Eight (of an Endless Infinity).
The world feels empty and hollow.
Hah.
What a laugh.
There’s no way of knowing what the world outside of this place feels like.  Her memories come and go, and any attempt to try and gain more than what she has leaves her brain aflame with an itching not unlike that when her hands first began to heal, when her skin first began to grow back, when all she wanted was to scratch and scratch until she tore the new skin from her hands (and did, on more than one occasion).  But she can’t scratch at her brain the way she scratched at her hands, and something tells her that even if she could, she would only cause irreparable damage – do more harm than good.
Scratching at her itching hands didn’t make them heal any faster.  If anything, it only made the healing take longer.  Picking and prying at her mind in an attempt to pull more memories from it than what it’s given won’t make her regain those memories any faster.  If anything, it may only make it take longer.
It’s a push and pull at this point.
Kyoko wants to remember everything.
Kyoko wants to remember nothing.
Maybe the world outside doesn’t feel empty and hollow, but the old school building certainly does.  Even if she didn’t spend much time with them after they’d woken with their memories stolen, Kyoko can’t help but look at the different rooms and see the ghosts of those now dead: Sayaka, Sakura, Chihiro, Makoto.  With one glaring exception, she’s never been the sort to linger on her memories of the departed.  She’s a detective; her entire work is dissociating herself from the emotions that come with death and murder and gruesome betrayal.
But that doesn’t mean the emotions aren’t there.
The building feels empty and hollow as Kyoko walks alone through it because all she can see are the other students who should be here, the staff who should be here: teachers in each of the classrooms, nurses in the Nurses’ Office, coaches in the gym or the pool or the locker rooms.  It’s too big for just six people.  Even if the others were to have children (Kyoko cannot imagine that for herself, but the others, maybe), it still wouldn’t be enough to fill this building the way it was meant – it was designed – to be filled.  Even when there were sixteen of them, even with their deceased headmaster—
This is not the way it was meant to be.
It isn’t.
And the entirety of this small tragedy, birthed and eclipsed by a much larger one that she still cannot remember but has to believe exists, finds its root in a woman who she had, at one point, loved.
She, Kyoko Kirigiri, whose entire Talent is wrapped up in discovering people’s secrets, had been blindsided because…because what?  Because she’d let herself be vulnerable?  Again?  Because she’d tried again to take a chance on someone and been betrayed by her?
(She’d taken a chance on Makoto, too.  He might have been a better person, but the end result was the same.  Betrayed and locked in an old school building too big for her with no hope of ever getting out.)
Kyoko doesn’t quite think as she walks through the school.  For once in her life, she lets go of the puzzle her mind wants to twist and twist until she can come to some sort of conclusion (satisfactory or not), and she just wanders.  Eventually, she finds herself just outside the Data Processing Room.  Junko acted as though she suspected someone else was still using the room, even though they were no longer broadcasting—
Why does it matter what Junko thinks?  Why does it matter if anyone else has been looking through the video cameras at them?  If they’ve been listening in on their conversations?  Why should she care?
(It’s another layer of the mystery.  Of the puzzle that she finally – finally – put down.  Junko wanted to speak with her where someone couldn’t hear them, which meant that Junko wanted to be honest with her about something, which meant that Junko was concerned about someone else listening in on them.  It’s another part of the Game.  Not a new one.  A different part of the same old one, separated from the murders and the trials.
Or maybe it isn’t entirely.
Maybe this one is for a kind of murder that Kyoko can’t quite quantify yet, in the same way that Junko murdered a portion of all of them when she tore their memories away.  A murder with one of the oldest motives in the book: Revenge.)
Kyoko picks the puzzle up once again, presses one gloved hand on the Data Processing Room’s door, and enters.
Nothing looks obviously different.  It would be fortunate if someone else was already here, but the room is completely empty.  Of course, they could be using Junko’s hidden room, but they would need to know her passcode for that, would need to know how to get into the secret tunnels.  She has no reason to believe that Junko would have revealed any of that intentionally to anyone.
Unless….
Kyoko glances up to the camera in the back corner.  Whoever it is might be looking at her now.  That’s fine.  Let them look.  Let them know.
She makes her way to the far room – the Monokuma Room – and tries the handle.  Unlocked.  A smile curves at one corner of her lips.
Good.
Kyoko shuts the door behind her as she sneaks inside and then bends down to test the door of the hatch in the floor in the very center of the room.  For a moment, she considers that there might be a passcode for it the same as there is for the rest of Junko’s secret tunnels, but all of those also had secret panels to go with their secret code.  But there’s no panel, no code necessary for this hatch, and when she gives it a tug, it lifts.  Inside, a metallic ladder leads down into the darkness.  Kyoko glances around, finds no cameras in the Monokuma Room like there were in the Data Processing Room, and turns just enough to lock the door behind her before stepping down onto the first rung of the ladder.
Unlike some people, Kyoko leaves the hatch open so that she has enough light to illuminate her way down, enough light to find her way back up again without hitting her head on a closed hatch.  Still, the darkness around her grows deeper, grows darker as she follows the ladder until, finally, her boots hit something more solid than a single rung.  She reaches around her for a light switch of some sort, finds one, and flicks it on.
There are two rooms.
The one in which she’s found herself is not nearly so large as one of their dorms and perhaps is only slightly larger than the Monokuma Room itself, as large as the above room might be if it didn’t have all of the machinery required to run Monokuma in it.  Similar to the secret room hidden behind Junko’s dorm, there’s a pair of beds set into the curve of the wall, one on either side.  But trash litters the metallic floor in a way that it didn’t in that room, trash so thick and deep that Kyoko feels as though she’s wading through it.  Some clothes are scattered here and there, draped over one of the beds, the one that looks as though it’s never been used.  It’s the other bed that draws Kyoko’s attention – the one that looks as though it has been used, with its green sheets pulled back as though whoever was sleeping there had been in a hurry, a second pillow on the side nearest the wall as though whoever once slept there clung to it.
The other room, however.
Kyoko walks across to a thick metallic door of the same sort that once sealed the Monokuma Room shut, although not decorated in a similar fashion.  Instead the word 未来 – mirai, future – is scrawled on it in thick pink bubble letters with hearts on either side of it.  The door has no handle, only a keypad.  She runs a finger along the keypad, notes the letters under each number as though this were an old telephone, and tests a few passwords as they come to mind.  None of them work.  She must not know Junko well enough, must not remember Junko well enough yet.
Which leaves the beds to inspect.
As she starts to make her way through the sheets, under the pillows, under the mattress, Kyoko thinks that someone else must have been in this room before her, someone else must have examined these things just the way she is now, someone else must have remembered this room existed and was left unexamined while she was preoccupied with Junko.  When she finds nothing in Junko’s bed save for a small teddy bear – or two halves of one stitched together with red thread, such that this very well might have been the earliest version of Monokuma, the way his left eye has been ripped into that horrid red symbol – she begins to examine the other bed.
That’s when she finds it.
Just under the mattress, tucked into its fitted sheet, is another notebook.
Kyoko pulls it out.  It looks like a normal notebook, just like the ones that Junko gave to Toko so many days ago, only this one isn’t as old, isn’t as worn out.  She flips it over to see the front cover and reads, in blaring big black letters, Ryoko Otonashi’s Memory Notebook.
Her eyes widen.
Then she tucks the notebook into her inside jacket pocket alongside her own, picks up the not-quite-Monokuma plush bear, turns the light back off, and starts to climb the ladder back into the Monokuma Room.
~
Kyoko doesn’t have a way to lock the Monokuma Room behind her when she leaves, but that’s less of a concern when she finds Byakuya waiting for her in the Data Processing Room, arms crossed and that smug, arrogant expression on his face as normal.  When he catches sight of the plush bear tucked under her arm, his eyes narrow.  She knows that nothing she says will assuage his annoyance, but she says it anyway, “It’s just a stuffed animal.”
“It’s a Monokuma.”
“Monokuma was very clear.  He’s not a stuffed animal.”  Kyoko pulls the stuffed bear out from under her arm and holds it aloft.  “Do you really believe that this thing is a threat?”
Monokuma barely broke two feet; the stuffed animal Kyoko holds out is maybe half of that at most.  It feels like nothing more than stuffing and stitching, although knowing its owner, there’s likely something else stuffed within its cotton, something that Kyoko will only find if she undoes the threads tying the two halves together or sticks fingers into the hole where his left eye has been ripped into another shape.  But this, too, could be a red herring, just like so many other things throughout the Game were.  Kyoko’s intuition says there’s nothing dangerous about this bear.  That doesn’t mean it can’t be something else.
Byakuya glares at the plush bear but keeps his arms crossed and does not reach out for it.  “I believe that anything created by our dear mastermind is a possible threat.  Especially cutesy teddy bears in the image of our dear departed headmaster.”
Monokuma isn’t dead, Kyoko wants to correct him, but she doesn’t.  The tension is thick enough without getting into a battle over words.  “What do you want, Byakuya?”
“I want to know what you’re taking back to your little girlfriend”
“Junko isn’t my girlfriend,” Kyoko interrupts, doing her best to shove down the bile that creeps up the back of her throat as her brain brings up the memory of kissing Junko again, a memory she’d finally been able to forget.
Byakuya meets her eyes with a cocky, smug curve to his lips, like he knows something she doesn’t.  “What have you remembered?”
“Enough.”  Kyoko holds his gaze with her own, furious.  Then she tucks the plush bear back under her arm and starts to pass him by.  When he places a hand on her shoulder, she turns—
Normally Kyoko is not strong, and she is not fast, but her grandfather taught her certain forms of self-defense for moments where her detective work got her into trouble, moments just like this one, and her itching mind brings that muscle memory to the forefront now, so when she turns, when she whirls, she grabs his arm and twists until he kneels before her.  “Do not touch me, Byakuya.”
In spite of the pain she knows she is causing, Byakuya spits out a laugh.  “If you’re trying to prove you aren’t a threat, this is an interesting way of doing it.”  He looks up at her with that arrogant smirk.  “Maybe you are the one who shouldn’t touch me.”
“Is that a threat?’
“No,” Byakuya says, still holding her gaze without a wince of pain.  “It’s an assurance.”
Despite this (and despite the way her hand twinges where it is still healing, twinges where it never has), Kyoko holds him there for a minute more, just for the future benefits of knowing that she could hold Byakuya still (or showing him that she could), even if it’s doing her no good at all.  She leans forward while holding him in place and says, clear as she can, “I remember exactly what Junko was to me before, Byakuya.  But what she was before and what she is now are two entirely different things.  If you – or anyone else – cannot see that, then you are the fools.  Not me.”  She releases him with enough of a shove that he stumbles to the floor.  “I did not vote for us to stay here, and I am not in love with Junko Enoshima.”
Byakuya pushes himself up with one hand and fixes his glasses with the other.  “Don’t protest too much, Kyoko,” he murmurs.  “It makes you less believable.”
Kyoko leaves the room without another word – without another protestation, as Byakuya would call it – but smiles to herself as the door shuts behind her.  She’d suspected that Junko suspected that someone else was using the video cameras to follow them; this altercation proves them both right.  Byakuya should never have known she would be in the Data Processing Room – or in the Monokuma Room – and he certainly shouldn’t have suspected she would go down the hatch or bring anything back from it.  Not from their discussions.  Not from anything she’d said or done prior to this exact moment.
But he had.
Not only had Byakuya known where she was, he’d acknowledged the plush as a threat, as something she might be taking back to Junko for some nefarious purpose.
Sure, there are holes in her line of thought, but at this point, Kyoko is fairly certain. Her intuition screams it at her.  Byakuya is using the video cameras.  And somehow, he’s using the ones in Junko’s secret room, even though he shouldn’t know the passcode or how to find one of the panels to test any of it out.
However, Kyoko knows that to be true.  She can follow his train of thought that far.
She just can’t guess his end goal.

okay so I was kinda right about Medjed! is that another victory in my column or not? hm
Tumblr media
After sleeping for I think 22 days, Futaba wakes up and gets to counterhacking the hackers.
Reverie and Morgana get bored and start cleaning up her room while she works.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Reverie got them skills. I still want an AU where he's a housespouse who moonlights as a cat burglar, if the fandom hasn't written a dozen of them, what the fuck have they been doing.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
gurl, we need to get you some vitamin c and iron, holy shit. i hope you like edamame and oranges, it's all your eating for the next week.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Does anyone else think this voice actor does NOT fit this character, or is it just me? It's a constant distraction.
Tumblr media
Aw he looks nice. What horrific creative crimes has he committed?
I finally belatedly noticed that the Palaces are all built around one of the deadly sins. "Arc, how could you not notice--" deadly sins are dumb, it's not in my authorial wheelhouse, blah blah. so anyway we did Lust, Vanity, Gluttony.... then the Thieves call out Futaba's sloth in the calling card, but she's actually associated with Wrath? Which is confusing. That means our options are.... uh. /googles.
Envy, Sloth, and Greed.
If the Final Boss is, like, the dude positioning to be the future Prime Minister, then I would say he should be Greed? Greed for power? But who even knooooows.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
OKAY SO I WAS KINDA RIGHT! She was Medjed! But it's basically Anonymous, it's a placeholder name for anyone who wants to use it. Yeah 'cause that always goes well.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
looks worriedly at Morgana
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Beige Boy shows up to sass Sae some more and
squints at these dialogue boxes
You know what I'm interested in seeing? I figure Akechi is gonna join the Thieves in some capacity at some point, it's being set up pretty aggressively. What interests me is whether we will see his persona awakening or if he'll already have a persona when he joins.
'Cause like.... Okay I'm pretty sure Akechi knows the Thieves aren't behind the mental shutdowns. I'm 70% sure. Ergo:
There is a 70% chance that Akechi is the black masked guy in the Metaverse causing the mental shutdowns.
Or there is a 30% chance that Akechi is being played by someone he trusts, who is giving him bad information re: the mental shutdowns. Which... would dovetail nicely into him joining the crew, actually, if they uncovered the true culprit and Akechi (like his Detective Prince predecessor) swapped sides to the Thieves upon realizing they're the only people who can stop the true perpetrator.
Actually, that would be an incredibly tidy bit of writing, I'm gonna say its 50/50.
He's still sus as fuck 24/7/365 though.

hello i am here for the Futaba and Sojiro Show
Also Sojiro fucking drops the fact that his curry recipe was from Wakaba. He made her curry once and she was so intrigued, she asked for information on how to make it, then returned to Sojiro with a refined, scientifically reinforced recipe, and that's the one Sojiro still uses.
I love Sojiro, what the fuck.
Tumblr media
BITCH JUST TELL ME WHO YOU PUSHED YOUR FUCKING MALWARE APK TO AND SAVE ME THE TIME, I KNOW IT WAS YOU.
Tumblr media
Makoto has this whole plan to basically give Futaba's interpersonal skills a workout until she's a little more able to handle Thief-y work, but of course Futaba latches onto Yusuke, because she has excellent taste and they are both kindred weirdos.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
oh yeah you guys are gonna be besties, i can tell
Tumblr media
She also keeps putting on a big costume head when she gets nervous, which is an interesting literalization of "masking" I guess.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
I have no intelligent commentary, I just like that when Futaba whines at Sojiro here, he stops and assesses the situation, deems it harmless, and goes back to what he was doing. There's no doubt he'd jump in to help if needed, but also I think Futaba is just the time to simper and tug at his attention because both of them enjoy that. It's very good, I like it.
Also, again: Futaba's VA choice is so fucking good. Love it.
Next up is a beach trip and I cannot imagine it beating P4G's incredible beach vacation, but we shall enter it with open hearts and open eyes.

KEIKO VANITYMIX & SPICE INTERVIEW “CUTLERY”
Source: https://www.vanitymix.jp/music/keiko/ Source: https://spice.eplus.jp/articles/314373 Instagram post 1: https://www.instagram.com/p/CoWJIteBw9F/ Instagram post 2: https://www.instagram.com/p/CoW5S7UBgPk/ Sneak peek of Meat&Chocolate Magazine Vol.11
Some more interesting tidbits:
Keiko has been active in the entertainment business for 18 years. Time really flies.
The tracklist matches different sceneries of daily life in a more or less chronological order
Yutaka Ozaki and Koji Tamaki inspired her to become an artist. Yuki Kajiura was the one who cultivated her voice and musical life.
Keiko says it feels very natural to her to be a part of someone else’s work rather than create her own work. That is why she has always felt at home with Yuki Kajiura and Kalafina. She was allowed to immerse herself in someone else’s world and bring that to life. The moment she left the safe confines of Kalafina, she became very anxious and didn’t really know what to do or what to offer as a singer. Making the 3rd album felt quite rewarding and was a lot of fun because she didn’t have to focus on lyrics or composing - which she did for her 1st and 2nd album. She just entered the world of various composers, playing different characters and expressing a variety of world views.
“Watashi Update” has a complicated rhythm with many words and way too much information so it’s important to absorb the lyrics to keep up with the fast pace.
For “Alcohol” she chose a very sloppy singing style because otherwise her voice would have gotten in the way of the song.
Fly, Black Swan is very “out there” and invites quite a lot of different interpretations. Keiko says it’s like a painting and maybe you shouldn’t try to look too closely and judge any of the details. Just experience it and allow it to take effect on your senses. According to Keiko the song is very similar to Yuki Kajiura’s music with its many imaginative margins. That’s why the vocal range and singing style somewhat resembles her work during the Kalafina era.
The stories in “KIRAI.” and “Yura Yura” resonate most with Keiko’s true self. Occasionally she might also feel like the protagonist of “Hitori Janai Kara”.
As someone who has worked in the entertainment business her entire life, it was actually quite interesting and refreshing for her to sing about everyday life of people with "ordinary” jobs.
“KIRAI.” is about a girl who is determined to find a perfect match and thus becomes very calculating. She is someone who looks for the best possible partner and is very honest about her demands. Keiko is very impressed by this sort of woman who knows what she wants and isn’t afraid to tell others about it. She also likes the woman depicted in “Alcohol” because she is incredibly strong but when she decides to get drunk, she will show a little weakness
Keiko compared “Yura Yura” to a Makoto Shinkai movie. There’s a strong sense of nostalgia. There’s a pure and fizzy atmosphere to the song, Keiko wanted it to be like a safe bubble.
“Your” was very difficult to record, it took a lot of takes.
Keiko made it a point to not “oversing” in this album. She refrained from getting too involved in the singing itself and instead focused on things like rhythm. That was important with the type of fast-paced tracks she chose to sing.

Because I felt the need to contribute to the amount of shit posts the Raincode fandom has, some shit-post-y questions for all of you:
1) Do you think Hallara ever see's a funny cat video and immediately thinks of one of the other NDA detectives? Not "oh i bet they would think this is funny" more so "that's chief/vivia/yuma/desuhiko/fubuki as a cat"
2) Do you think that Yakou ever does the thing where he's sitting in his chair and ever so slowly slides down off of his chair until he realizes "oh shit im eye-level with my desk" and re-adjusts himself?
3) Do you think Makoto ever just purposefully uses collocative substitution (ex.: I am utterly sandwiched at that conclusion) in a conversation SPECIFICALLY to mess with Yomi with the goal of making him not notice it in the initial statement but make him go "wait what?!?" part way through his next sentence once what was said fully processes?
4) Do you think Fubuki ever just mixes different foods together that she thinks are common combinations but are instead just the weirdest most "wtf?" inducing combos in existence?
5) Do you think Desuhiko, being the mischievous boy he is; ever just uses his forte to prank the other NDA Detectives by disguising them as someone else while they are sleeping? Though i can see him not pranking Vivia because he's "always" asleep but is "somehow" never surprised. (Like i imagined yakou going to bed as himself and waking up looking like yomi and releasing a shriek that could be mistaken for a little girls shortly followed by desuhiko cackling like a hyena and a very sarcastic "very funny desuhiko")
6) Do you think Vivia just snags the nearest available blanket (usually the chiefs off of his bed) when the fireplace gets too cold or would he just weasel his way under one of the couches or under Yakou's bed?
7) Do you think there are times when Yuma accidentally says "dad" when he's talking to Yakou and doesn't catch it until he see's the chief doing that "omg my work-son just called me dad I'm so happy" grin and eventually the other NDA detectives start noticing with various reactions? (Vivia finding it adorable, Hallara finding it funny but endearing, Desuhiko finding it hilarious until he finds himself doing it too and Fubuki being confused especially once Desuhiko starts calling him dad too)
8) Do you think the other peacekeepers besides Yomi hang out outside of work? like Seth and Guillaume play horror video-games and just generally hang out together, Dominic and Swank go out for drinks together, Martina and fake-zilch/"Aide" (when he was still alive) just hang out and talk shit with eachother at a cafe....(Idk why but i can see this happening)

P5R: Rebel Girl (A FeMC Story/P5R Rework) Chapter 173: The Ties That Bind
Tuesday morning, as Ren was eating breakfast, she got a text. She gave it a glance.
Futaba: Hey.
Futaba: While we’re waiting on how to proceed, I have my uncle’s name on the ready.
Futaba: I think we can go down into Mementos, change his heart, prevent him from making the call to child services, and ease Sojiro’s troubles.
Ren: OK.
Ren: Shouldn’t this be in the group chat though?
Futaba: NO!
Futaba: Sorry…
Futaba: I’d…rather not involve the others if that’s OK with you.
Ren:  I mean, they know about him.
Futaba: I know, but…they haven't met him.
Futaba: And I don’t want them to.
Ren: I guess that makes sense.
Ren: Regardless, all of us will be there for you.
Futaba: Yeah…
Futaba: I just wanna keep this in the family, you know.
Ren: Say no more.
Ren: We’ll go.
Ren smiled at being a part of this family. She loved her birth parents and birth sister, but being a part of this family as well felt special.
Later, on her way to school, Ren’s phone went off again. It was the group chat though.
Haru: Um, something strange happened.
Jose: What is it?
Haru: Some investigators came over to my place.
Yusuke: That doesn’t sound strange.
Haru: Yes. However, they told me that the investigation into the mental shutdowns was being put on hold for a little bit.
Ryuji: WHAT?!
Haru: They explained that it’s because the suspect is the SIU director, and he may have tampered with the evidence.
Haru: So they need to look over to make sure everything is alright.
Ann: Well, that makes sense.
Makoto: Sis isn’t going to like that though.
Futaba: It might be a good idea to keep an eye on her.
Futaba: Maybe we’ll figure out when Eris will target someone to target her.
Makoto: Well, I’ll try when I can, but she’s fiercely independent.
Lena: I know she and Akechi work together sometimes. Perhaps he can look into things?
Ren: That might tip our hand though.
Lena: Right…
Sumire: Perhaps you can ask one of her coworkers to assist?
Sumire: I mean, I don’t think it would be strange on that front. They deal with what your sister deals with, so they’ll just think it’s a part of the process.
Makoto: That’s actually a great idea, Sumire.
Sumire: Thanks.
Jose: So, why did those investigators tell you tha Haru?
Haru: Oh, um well, they didn’t want me to leave the country before they got a chance to interview me.
Haru: They even asked that I should stay in the city if possible.
Ryuji: Is…you going someone else a possibility?
Haru: Well, in theory, yes.
Haru: We have a handful of vacation houses.
Haru: Well, I guess I do now.
Haru: I’m just not used to it being just me yet.
Ren: Well, you know we’re always here for you.
Haru: Thank you!
Haru: Oh! And I did ask if I could freely travel the city because I didn’t want to miss your gymnastics performance Sumire.
Sumire: Aww, thank you.
Ren: I’m looking forward to it too.
Sumire: Of course. It’s going to be great!
Ren put her phone away.
Meanwhile, Makoto arrived at school. Before she entered the gate, she gave her sister’s office a call.
Riko had just seen Sae’s files taken away from her, but was professional enough to not let that frustration get to her. She answered “Special Investigations Unit, Sae Niijima’s office, Riko Sakurai speaking.”
“Uh, hi,” Makoto replied back. “This is going to be a little awkward, but I’m her sister.”
“Oh Makoto,” Riko said. “Sae told me so much about you, Riko said.
“She…she did?” Makoto said, worried.
“Mm-hm,” Riko answered. “She’s so proud of you.”
“She is?” Makoto said.
“Of course,” Riko said.
“Well…thanks…” Makoto said.
“Don’t mention it,” Riko replied. “Now, is there a reason you called?”
“Oh right,” Makoto said, jolting back to the reason he called. “I imagine that after last night’s events, she’s not in a great mood.”
“Talk about an understatement,” Riko said.
Makoto giggled slightly. “I’m just a little concerned about her, so if you can keep a close eye on her for me. Just, you know, make sure she doesn’t…”
“Say no more,” Riko said. “I understand.”
Makoto sighed. “Thank you. Oh! And don’t mention that I called. She’d absolutely flip if she knew.”
“I had the feeling,” Riko said. “Thank you.”
“Thank you,” Makoto replied. They hung up. "She seems nice." Makoto headed into school.
After school, Ren headed back to Yongen-Jaya. Before even entering Leblanc, she saw Futaba squatting down right beside it. When Futaba saw Ren, she stood up. “Are you ready?”
“Ready as I’ll ever be,” Ren replied.
“Good enough for me,” Futaba said. “His name is Youji Isshiki. I already messaged him anonymously, using the method I used to message you when I was trying to solicit your help.”
“I see…” Ren said.
“Well, if it’s just you two, I think I’ll wander the streets a bit,” Morgana said. “See what I can find out.”
Ren rolled her eyes. “You’re coming too Morgana.”
“Huh?” Morgana replied.
“You’re also part of the family,” Futaba said.
“Plus, we couldn’t get too far in Mementos without you,” Ren said.
“Heh,” Morgana chuckled. “My expertise is boundless.”
“I meant we’d be without a car,” Ren explained.
“Oh,” Morgana said.
“Plus your expertise as well,” Futaba assured him. “I don’t imagine he’s gonna be easy to take on.”
“We still can call the others, you know,” Morgana suggested.
“Don’t wanna,” Futaba retorted.
Morgana sighed. “Very well. Let’s head out!” The three nodded, and they went down to Mementos.
A little later, they were face to face with Futaba’s uncle. “So YOU’RE the punks that tried scaring me.”
“Uh, no offense, but I think we succeeded,” Morgana said. “You are here after all.”
“SILENCE!” Youji shouted. “Hm. I’ve got a good thing going. I just need more money! But everyone’s so stingy!”
“Perhaps because you intimidate them,” Ren offered.
“Or you’re just not trustworthy,” Futaba added.
“What do you think I’m trying to do?!” Youji snapped. “You don’t get it! You haven’t gone through what I went through!”
Futaba went a little pale. “...Joker, I think we’re done talking,” she said. Ren nodded, and she and Morgana pointed their weapons at him.
“Hm,” Youji grunted. He morphed into Girimekhala. They began engaging in combat. Even with Futaba’s knowledge, it was still a difficult battle with only Ren and Morgana. But still, they managed to win in the end.
Once Youji morphed back, he looked sad. “Sis…why did you die?” The three Phantom Thieves were curious. “She was always the smart one. The good one. I was just the screw-up. And now she’s gone, and I don’t have anything. My parents are perpetually disappointed, my cousins avoid me, hell, even my own niece is afraid of me… I…I try to get my shit together, but I can never seem to do so…”
Futaba looked at him intently. This was the first time she’d seen a human side to him. She walked in front of Ren and Morgana. “Hey!” Youji looked up. “You wanna know how you fix things?! Small steps. You can’t become successful overnight. I’m learning this, and you need to know too. If you come off too strong, you’ll only alienate people. Start small and grow!”
“Hm,” Youji chuckled. “Heh heh. That just might be it. Heh heh. You know, you kind of remind me of her. My sister.” Futaba was stunned. “Well, here goes nothin’.” Youji faded. Ren quickly grabbed the treasure while Futaba was still stunned.
“You alright Oracle?” Morgana asked looking up.
“Huh? Oh yeah…” Futaba answered.
Ren looked at her, and nodded. “Let’s go then.” The others nodded, and they headed out of Mementos.
As they were walking bak, Ren noticed Futaba’s unease. “Is there something you wanna talk about?”
“Huh?” Futaba said, looking up at Ren. “Well, um, hm…”
Ren giggled. “It’s fine, we don’t have to talk now.”
“No, I think I should,” Futaba said. “I mean, I talked to my uncle about changing. How can I run away when we have the same goal?”
“I see,” Ren said.
“I mean…” Futaba said. “I guess he wasn’t always too bad,” Futaba explained. “He…wasn’t great, but…I guess mom’s death affected him too.”
“It’s hard to imagine it wouldn’t,” Ren explained.
“And it’s not that I hate him entirely,” Futaba said. “Entirely... I just don’t think he’s cut out for watching over me.”
“What about your grandparents?” Ren asked.
“They have no interest,” Futaba said. “They kind of look at me with disdain. Probably because I happened without my mom getting married.”
“Oh boy,” Ren said, stunned.
“But Sojiro…Sojiro is different,” Futaba explained. “He takes care of me as easy as breathing. He reminds me a lot of mom in a lot of ways. I guess that’s why they got along so well.” Ren smiled. “But until recently, I’ve been so consumed with my own feelings that…I couldn’t pay him back.”
Ren looked over Futaba. “You know how to pay him back?” Futaba looked at her, curious. “Grow. Change. Become the woman you always want to be. Show Sojiro that you are doing well.”
Futaba grew determined. “You know what? You’re right! I can’t let Sojiro and my uncle do all the work. I have to change too!”
“That’s the spirit!” Ren cheered.
Futaba giggled. “You know, as helpful as Sojiro is, it’s nice having you around.”
Ren nodded. “Likewise.”
Hermit-Futaba Sakura: Rank 3
As they continued walking, they got an alert on their phone.
Lena: Hey!
Lena: Um, I invited Goro to your gymnastics meet tomorrow, Sumire.
Lena: I hope that’s alright.
Sumire: It’s fine. Akechi can come. The more, the merrier, right?
Lena: Right.
Lena; It’s just, with everything the way it is, I think he needs a chance to relax.
Makoto: I can relate.
Lena: I hope you don’t mind.
Ren: We just need to keep some of our Phantom Thief stuff on the downlow. But we don’t really talk about it during this, so I think we should be fine.
Futaba: It’d be nice to get a chance to meet the legend himself.
Lena: He’s just a normal person like you or me.
Futaba: Right…
Yusuke: I hope we can find enough seats.
Haru: I could take you to the balcony.
Haru: It’s roomy enough.
Jose: That’d be neat.
Jose: Thanks Haru.
Haru: You’re welcome.
Sumire: I can’t wait for tomorrow.
Sumire: With all of you cheering for me, I feel like I’m going to do well.
Ren: Of course you will. You’re Sumire Yoshizawa.
Sumire: Oh you.
They put their phones away, and continued onward.
Soon, they got back to Leblanc. They saw Sojiro on the phone. “Uh huh…I see…very well…Thank you.” He hung up.
“Who was that?” Futaba asked.
Sojiro sighed. “That was child services,” Sojiro explained. “Apparently your uncle made good on his threat.”
Futaba whispered. “Oh no. We were too late…” She pouted.
Sojiro smiled. “It’ll be fine.”
Futaba looked at him, confused. “How can you be so sure?”
“It’s like I told your uncle,” Sojiro said, “I have the truth on my side.”
“Right…” Futaba said, still a little unsure.
Sojiro noticed her unease and approached her. “Futaba… I made a promise to your mother to protect you. And I’m going to do just that.”
Futaba started crying. *sniff. “Thank you Sojiro.” She rushed into him. “I promise I’ll make it up to you someday!”
Sojiro was surprised, but gave Futaba a hug. “Trust me, you’ve done more for me than you can even begin to imagine.”
Futaba looked up. “Really?”
Sojiro grinned. “Really really.” Futaba chuckled. Sojiro let go. “Now, as long as you’re here, you want me to make dinner? For the three of us?”
“Hey!” Morgana shouted, jolting out from Ren’s bag.
“Hm hm, sorry, the FOUR of us,” Sojiro said.
“Nyeh heh heh,” Morgana chuckled.
Futaba also chuckled. “I’d like that.”
“Me too,” Ren said. “Mind if I help?”
“Of course,” Sojiro said. “You’re a part of this family too.” Ren’s smile grew, and she and Sojiro cooked up a meal for the four of them. It was a perfect family meal, for a perfect, if unconventional family.

Not Makoto being lost in Shuichi's eyes in the naehara bookclub au and still not realizing he has a crush. I can't even imagine how the book club meetings would go after they both realize they're in love with the other but neither have confessed or realized the other's feelings
(Follow-up to this post)
Oh gosh, imagine Shuichi notices that Makoto has suddenly started acting shy and awkward around him (because Makoto is bad at hiding his feelings) and Shuichi gets excited by it, trying to encourage Makoto to make a move. But he's using the same indirect tactics as before, talking about the book or other couples at school or anything other than the actual real life feelings he has, and Makoto still isn't taking the hint.
So we get a situation where Shuichi is pretty sure they both like each other and wants Makoto to ask him out (since surely it would be disrespectful for the underclassman to be the one to make a move), and Makoto knows he likes Shuichi but assumed surely Shuichi would say something if he returned his feelings, plus wouldn't it be wrong for him to initiate things, since he's an upperclassman? Plus, Shuichi is the Ultimate Detective's Assistant, and one of Makoto's best friends is the Ultimate Detective. What if Makoto asks him out and Shuichi thinks he has to date Makoto to keep things from being weird between him and Kyoko? Shuichi and Kyoko have to work together occasionally, and Makoto has already made things kind of weird between them by accidentally making Shuichi so defensive of him, and...
This goes on for way too long.
Shuichi's like, "I heard Owada and Ishimaru from your class are going to the festival together...as a couple."
"Yeah, they are!" Makoto is relieved that Shuichi has forgiven Mondo for the, uh, police incident. "It's their first time officially going out like that. Everyone's really excited. The whole class has been waiting for them to finally confess their feelings."
"Which one of them did?"
"Taka. A lot of people expected Mondo to do it, but I knew it'd be Taka. He can be honest to a fault, sometimes. Mondo can be blunt and passionate, but he also keeps things bottled up a lot."
"It must be...nerve-wracking, to keep something like that bottled up."
Makoto laughs nervously. "I'll bet."
"Why do you think someone would do that?"
"I don't know. Maybe a fear of rejection? And I know Mondo kind of hates being vulnerable..."
"I'd like to go to the festival, but I don't know who I'd go with."
"I thought you were going with Kaede's group. Isn't Kaede going with a bunch of friends?"
"Uh, y-yeah, but I...I just meant...Never mind."
"What is it? Are you and Kaede not friends anymore?"
"No! No, we are! I was just...I was talking about something else. Never mind. Hey, how did you like this chapter's cliff hanger? I was so annoyed when it ended!"
Makoto follows the change in subject, but he makes a mental note that something might be going on with Shuichi and his friends. Should he ask Kaede about it? Or is that too much...

Imagine Toko goïng to the Naegi household to meet up with Komaru and seeïng that the luck is apparently a family thing.
Toko just tryïng to tell the rest of the class about it.
Oh my god I was just making headcanons on what I think the rest of the Naegi family's luck is.
Personally I see the dad as having self centralized good luck, nothing overly extreme, but noticeable of him being luckier then most. He's the kind of guy who tends to be the millionth visitor or find 40 bucks in the grass. Dude that wins like 60 bucks of a scratch card
The mom has bad luck but in a way that always seems to help someone, never bad enough to really hurt her, but she'll drop 20 bucks which will be found by some kid who got kicked out of their house and needs money for food. Or her car will stall in a place only to catch someone else collapse alone on the street and her being there saved his life. Good luck for everyone else and she'd rather help then not, but it is pretty inconvenient and has made her lose jobs for being late too often and the like before.
For Komaru judging but how UDG went I'd say her look works as minor bad luck disguised as good luck for the people around her with a centralized good luck that tends to revolve more around not getting injured. IE: Komaru riles up the adults to fight back, to the adults this is good luck, but as a whole them fighting back mindlessly without a clear goal beyond kill those kids almost got SO MANY people killed but thankfully her luck doesn't go too as much extremes as Komaeda which is why Toko was able to stop the controller from breaking Toko is a good friend for her because Toko who is used to Makoto luck can go "yup thats a luck moment" and move on.

1, 7, 13, 16, 20, 31, 34 Kotoko, 45
1. I believe it was therpgminx's playthrough of DR1 in 2016 and now I'm mentally unwell about it
7. This is a difficult one because the talent is such a large part of so many characters identity BUT. I would give Imposter something in the vein of ultimate Leader based on how they act in DR2, and I think they deserve an existence that isn't defined by pretending to be someone else. Daisaku Bandai should be literally anything else. Maybe voice actor because his only defining trait (apart from the sterotypes) is his voice being unexpected. I would give Leon drummer because that matches his aesthetic, meets his interest in music, and frees him from baseball. I think Gonta has earned ultimate Gentleman. Finally, Makoto should officially be the (un)lucky student. It's a small detail, but it reflects the way his luck works, and I love how his fortunate and misfortune are mixed.
13. I'm pretty basic with ships. Fuyuhiko x Peko, Toko x Komaru, and Taka x Mondo x Chihiro. Number 1 is Ryoko x Yasuke. Big fan of that whole thing
16. I have had an idea for a tripwire based murder for a while. You align a pressure-held mounted contraption with the temple of the tallest student alive, and eventually, they walk into the wire, launching some object into their head. The delay between set-up and result would make alibis meaningless, would make it easier for the faint of heart to kill, and could lead to some drama if it fails. I think it would be neat for a chapter two.
20. The brain worms that it deploys. It's hard to pin down a single favourite thing, as it is really the combination of vibes, characters, story, and such that combine to make it such a fun thing. If I had to pick, though, it would probably be how it's mostly Junko's story. It is an exploration of her philosophy and its effects on people. I could go on a whole tirade about that but this is already going to be my longest post I've made, so next time.
31. Daisaku, for obvious reasons. One of the only explicit people of colour in the franchise (i.e. can't be written off as tan) and we get Daisaku.
34. She's my second favourite warrior of hope. Her minigame shows a tragic relationship with her trauma. I would imagine a full character arc would be one of the most interesting in the series, but alas. I do think her character would hit harder if the minigame had a less silly paint job, the narrator didn't imply you were enjoying it, and haiji didn't say that one line. She got done dirty.
45. It is probably the game I think about the least. I don't dislike it, but I tend to find the gameplay of Danganronpa as a whole an impediment to the story and character development. UDG has the most true gameplay of any of the main games. I would have liked more time spent on the dynamics of the adults and kids, both within and between groups, more exploration of motivation, and a stronger tie into the rest of the story. Instead we get a few arena fights, some basic puzzles, and slightly more panty shots than usual. Somewhere between not my cup of tea and missed potential, I guess
