To anyone named Lianna I am so sorry for your loss in this story/jk
Here's Part One if you haven't seen it yet
I love how the archon quest confirmed a theory I had.
(2/21/24)Next Chapter will be out by next week!

Hehe gif is a small reference for something else im wriring for the Fontaine siblings 👀
Nighttime hit Fontaine as businesses began to shut down for the night. Most employees were making their way home, a few people were on the streets hanging out around this time.
“Uhm hello?” Lianna, a Knight from Mondstadt drunkenly walked down the streets of Fontaine alone, bottle in hand. She was here on business and ended up getting drunk at the bar she met her client at. The bar kicked her out for getting too rowdy and dancing on tables.
She mumbles angrily to herself, continuing forward, trying to find an inn to sleep in for the night. The clinking of her heels dragged along the street. She slowly inched her way through the road when the lamps lighting her way suddenly went out, leaving her in darkness.
“Huh?”
She stopped taking in her surroundings. The pitch blackness made it difficult for her to navigate a land that she was unfamiliar with. She went to move again when something strange occurred.
The sound of a music box started to play. Lianna stood confused, trying to get her thoughts together. First, the lights now have some weird music box, if she didn’t know better, she would think this was some stupid prank they played on foreigners.
The music suddenly stopped. Silence and sounds of water from the nearby pier filled the background. Light footsteps walked in her direction, the sound of continuous tapping directly in front of her. She waits with a bated breath for something to happen or the lights to turn on. Seconds turn into minutes as she waits.
A small flame flickers as a Fatuus stood before her with a scythe in hand. That was all Lianna needed before taking the initiative to run away.
She ignored the darkness as she took off running. She ran zig-zag, trying to get the person off her trail. Lianna could hear him right on her tail yelling phrases towards her that she didn’t pay mind to. As she kept turning the corner, she heard the ocean waves growing louder. She pushed forward, going forward down the path, running face first into the waters down below.
Her purser stopped in their tracks, standing close to the edge of the pier. A light flashed into the water directly at her, blinding her momentarily. The Fatui member stares at her, not moving to snatch her up. She is still watching their movements. She waited for him to move before she started swimming towards another pier.
As Lianna exited the ocean, darkness filled her vision.
The Steambird was filled with chatter from the other members. Members ran around trying to collect the newspaper printed.
"Mondstadt woman found dead near the pier nearby."
“A young knight who worked for the Knights of Favonius, came here on business regarding trade between Fontaine and Mondstadt, Officers pronounced her dead around 3 Am this morning.”
"Lianna was apparently found with her neck snapped in an awkward direction. The only evidence the police found of the culprit was some pieces of cat hair around her neck."
"Did you find anything?" Charlotte peeks her head in from around the corner.
"Nothing that we don’t already know." She entered with more documents in hand.
"I heard the streetlights were shut off, probably didn’t want the cameras or possible eyewitnesses seeing them.” Charlotte sat the pile of papers neatly to the side.
"Well, that makes things much harder, doesn't it?" Charlotte lets out a small laugh as she enters the cubicle, papers in hand.
"Boss says, "All of those need to be completed by the end of today." She takes her leave as quickly as she entered your cubicle.
Picking up the documents, you spot the Chief of Justice among your list for interviews. Very helpful, leave it to the court to "have all the answers."
You walk along the streets of Fontaine, sweater in hand. Light music filled the streets as you passed by the shops. Everyone is always working, leaving few people in the streets to leisurely roam during the day. Some restaurants had business lunches, others roaming around quickly to their locations.
The head of the court, the young god Furina and her right hand, Neuvillette judged the guilty. The building was the largest in the city almost similar to the roles that the people residing in them had to the people of Fontaine.
You shook your head trying to relieve yourself from the negative thoughts. It was just an interview with the Judge, nothing bad was going to happen. Entering the court, you signed yourself in and waited to be called.
"Yes how can I help you?" A melusine sitting at the desk glances up in your direction.
"An Interview with the steambird for Monsieur Neuvillette?" The melusine sighs, before walking off in the direction of his office. You remain by the desk waiting for the Melusine to return.
"He has time for you." The Melusine returned pointing out the direction of his office to you. You knock on the door before entering his office.
The Judge's office consisted of various articles spread throughout the wall, with dates circled. Neuvillette himself, sat at the desk writing away on a document. The hydro archon, sat on a chair talking to him as he works away.
"You should have seen the people that danced on their partners feet." She recounts a story of one of her outings to the Judge who listens silently.
"Next time, I'll take you." She continues talking as he seemingly listens in on her. Seeing you, her expression changes back into the arrogant stature she carries.
"It appears that we have a guest."
Seeing no place to sit, you stand awkwardly next to the door waiting for his permission.
“For the interview, correct?” He responds still focused on his work, not sparing you a single glance.
“Uhm yes. I’m Y/N.” The Judge sets aside a document, looking up to meet your gaze. Lady Furina sat up listening to the conversation.
“Let’s begin, what are your questions for me?”
“Fontaine wants to know, what are you doing about the disappearances of the foreigners as of recent?”
“We are doing our best to investigate the situation, Clorinde has taken over the case, I would advise talking to her.”
You put away the notebook, as quick as you pulled this out. This wasn't even five moments into the conversation.
"I understand, thank you for your time." You thank him and take your leave to go find her office.
“Furina can show you.” The young girl who was leaning against his desk shot up.
“Huh?"
“She’s not doing her work; she has time to take you.” He sighs hearing her argue more. He stands pushing her out of the office alongside you.
“If you’ll excuse me.” He locks his door leaving you with the young God.
“Neuvi!” She whined banging on the door to no avail. It remains shut with her locked out. She stood at the door annoyed before turning to you.
“As your dear archon, I will graciously help you out.” Her expression taking one of a soft smile as she guides you to Clorinde's office.
"I see thank you Miss Clorinde." You exit her office leaving the Palais Memonia. You checkt the list of other credible sources that was on your agenda.
Miss Navia
Melusine Guardes
Guardes
Monsieur Neuvillette
Mademoiselle Clorinde
You sigh crossing them off one by one. You decide to go with your best bet which is the Guardes. The Guardes during the time that Lianna was walking that time of night, some had to have been stationed in that area. Looking over the information that Mademoiselle Clorinde gave, it appears that none of the Guardes that she had stationed that night, heard any strange noises.
You sigh crossing the Guardes off your list momentarily. You sigh making your way to take care of the other things on your agenda.
"And you're sure that was the only evidence that you left by accident?"
"Yes." The white haired female let out a sigh of irratation as her nails drum along the desk she sat at.
"No more mistakes or do you need more training?" She sends a glare towards the three who raised their heads slightly.
"No sir." She sighs and dismisses the three from the room. The door to the House of the Hearth closing as a certain blonde and his siblings exit.
"We were a bit careless." One mumbled as they pass down the streets of Fontaine.
"I thought that you had them honestly."
"It doesn't matter, next time we'll do better."
“Places in 5 minutes!”
The staff and the performers began getting ready for their acts. Other performers were talking amongst themselves backstage.
The twins were preparing for their final performances for the night.
Lyney sat next to his vanity, preparing for his upcoming act, while his younger brother, Freminet, drew sketches for his next project sitting with him.
Freminet would occasionally assist the siblings with their shows, though mainly he would watch from the crowd. The last show he helped with, was to regulate Lyney so he wouldn’t have another accident.
“Are you helping out with the show again, Frem?”
“What acts are you doing tonight?’’ The youngest looked up from his drawings.
“The usual, tightrope, saw cut, things like that.”
“I don’t think I’ll join this time then.” Lyney frowns, turning to Freminet.
Lyney sighs making the youngest stop his drawing. He puts down the make-up brush, turning to face him. "You know I only do this to get you comfortable with others right?"
"You're always on your own, you barely even talk to Lynette and I, that's not healthy, little brother."
The youngest stops his drawings as he closes the drawing book. He simply nods, not arguing with his older brother.
Their conversation ends short as a staff member peeks his head into the room.
“Lyney, it’s time.” He stands, tying his bow behind his back.
"Will you watch tonight at least?” He sends a glance to Freminet as he puts on his sleeve and gloves.
"I'll be in the audience."
"Then, I'll make sure to put on a hell of a show for you." He ruffles Freminet's hair before leaving the room.
“Wish me luck!” The crowd cheers welcoming Lyney and Lynette to the stage for their performance.
A/N (2/21): Chapter 3 will be out in a few weeks, thank you for your patience.

here is the guide to this mini-series type thingy
(divider by @saradika-graphics)
Left foot, right foot, left foot, right foot.
Left foot, right foot, left foot, right foot.
The quick paces had become a familiar feeling as Fenrir threw a glance over his shoulder, his eyes surveying the swarm of people for the enraged fellow gaining on him. He let his hood fall over his face, darkening his features as he merged with the pack, the hum of Coruscant contenting his racing heart. Like a wasp in his ear the man throwing limp insults his way had faded to the background, a buzzing sound so annoying that he wanted to swat it away but it was also so numbing he could only fantasise about a time without it.
Gripped tightly in his hand - knuckles white with desperation - was the object this man was chasing Fenrir for, a very nice blade with the most detailed inscriptions he’d seen in years. Even with the man’s cash and credits stuffed in his jacket pockets, Fenrir couldn’t help but swipe the dagger, a smirk on his face as he did. Now, he paid the price as he strolled through the devastating crowds with panic.
And so he continued, placing his left foot in front of his right, the pace quick yet inconspicuous, blending him with the strangers of the night. A few more blocks and he would lose the buff man hurrying to catch him, a few more blocks and he could shelter in the shadows with his new found prizes.
A hand gripping his shoulder broke the mist of calm over Fenrir, and only one thought broke through his mind before he was roughly shoved to the ground. A few blocks too far. And then all of a sudden the buff man was over him, knuckles colliding with the boy’s jaw so hard it drove tears to his eyes and wails from his throat. A pitiful cry broke through the air as his fragile frail crumpled underneath the man, the strangers around him wailing in terror and fleeing the scene.
The man howled something in Fenrir’s face, but the teenager was too beat to determine the muffled words, instead noting the redness of his face and the sharp hot hatred in the man’s brown eyes. Pain had engulfed his body, white hot and furious, sending millions of tiny sparks of agony through him. He squeezed his eyes shut. Another few punches and his vision would turn black and fuzzy, and he’d wake up hours later in a Republic holding cell, again.
But, the next punch never landed, and instead Fenrir was left teary-eyed and numb on the floor, his limbs twitching involuntarily. The instinct to open his eyes and seek the cause of his relief overpowered the pain momentarily, and the teenager opened one eye.
His saviour came in blue and white, a blur from the tears but Fenrir was pretty sure the figure wasn’t usually wobbly and floppy. He could see the buff man, now collapsed on the floor on his knees, hands behind his head. A ripple of confusion burst through his body upon seeing the blade - oh, that beautiful dagger - and the credits in the man’s hands. His lip twitched with satisfaction at what the scenery must have looked like, a crumpled teenage boy beaten black and blue by a man with a blade and money. Perhaps, even money that he’d stolen from Fenrir.
But even Fenrir couldn’t push back the numbing pain his body had involuntarily succumbed to, and he was left panting and whimpering as his vision faded and his hearing softened to nothingness.
BEEP.
BEEP.
BEEP.
BEEP-
Fenrir’s eyes shot open as the beeping jerked him from his unconsciousness, cool air nipping at his exposed skin like the ocean. The unfamiliarity of the area sent alarm bells off in his body and he sat up quickly, tucking his hands into fists as panic flooded his body, his eyes wide and his movements frantic. A scream shriller than the devil’s cry ripped from his chest, and he pushed himself as far away from his lying position as possible.
“Conan!” He shrieked, tears springing in his eyes as feeble panic overtook him. He lashed in his restraints, crying out like a toddler ripped from its mother’s arms. “Conan! Conan! Conan!” His throat burnt with disagreement, his wild movements exhausting his limbs as he wailed. He caught a glimpse of the white wall in front of him, but that didn’t even register in his brain as he frantically sought for another figure. His eyes didn’t stop flickering as they searched for a mop of scruffy dark brown curls that was nowhere to be seen.
Instead of finding comfort in dark brown swirls and eyes of carob, Fenrir’s eyes locked with a pair of cinnamon ones, wisps of short blonde hair snagging his attention. A man leaped into his sight, blue and white plastoid sharp against the white wall tiles. “It’s okay, it’s okay, you’re okay, you’re okay,” the man soothed him, his hands reaching out but not reaching for him, as though he were a frightened, dangerous animal needing to be calmed.
Fenrir jerked away from the man’s figure, breathing heavily but finding no air reaching his lungs. Instead, he panted as though it might help fill his body, desperation clawing at his throat. That’s when the man shuffled closer, forcing Fenrir to watch him. The boy cried out once before curling in on himself, watching in fright.
“It’s okay,” the man whispered again, soft kindness seeping through his words like honey and hot cocoa. Fenrir shuddered as his vision blurred, the figure with the blonde buzz cut fading to one with scruffy dark curls momentarily, before shifting back to reality. The memory placed the teenager in an unwanted state of comfort and contentment. “You’re okay.”
Three words escaped his mouth before he could even register them as a thought in his brain, flying off of his tongue so impulsively he recoiled in frustration. “Who are you?” Fenrir rasped, his throat and voice rough and sandpapery, discomfort rippling through him.
The man gave him a small, short smile, one that made Fenrir trust him completely.
“My name’s Captain Rex.”
A/N: tysm for reading, hope you enjoyed!!! please send requests!!!

I would like to recommend an album for the sole fact that the first third of it is a narrative about transformation. "Murder of the Universe" has the first story centre around the Altered Beast, I was giving it a listen recently and thought it was something you may enjoy the narrative aspect of.
Ill admit, while this is my first experience with King Gizzard, ive been around the block a few times and nowhere from what ive heard did i begin to anticipate they might have an affinity in adapting Sega Genesis videogames into albums.
Because of that, I'm unfamiliar with the greater Gizzard Universe, and needed a bit of clarification from Genius on some parts. That being said, I very much enjoy the music and the narrative it seeks to tell, even if to a layman, it seems very much anthological. Obviously I enjoyed Part 1 and the Altered Beast best, although I recognize Part 2 and the Lightning Lord as the much more technically impressive part. Once I realized the album was trisected, I considered turning it off now that I had gotten what I had came for, but stuck with it out of respect and curiosity.
it could be that i dont typically listen to rock operas, but parts do seem to drag on for a long time. I know, calling prog rock long is like calling the sun bright, but i enjoy the length of albums like Dark Side or Lamb Lies Down on Broadway because they're slow and transcendant and give me time to zone out. When an album like Murder wants to keep a tense atmosphere, it keeps said atmosphere going across 8+ tracks, and eventually i get bored of hearing the same riff. Really, there were no slow parts in this album.
I appreciate the Altered Beast narrative for what it is, the the constant flip flops between perspectives before they eventually blur into one. It achieved what it set out for and complemented it with some nice descriptions, which are always the best parts of tf of course. From an artistic standpoint, it was very impressive, if slightly generic.
I wasn't a particular fan of the spoken word narration. The actual singing consisted of very basic rhyme, which was frequently evocative, but too short and sparse to ever allow me a chance to get into it. Sung narration with that same style of evocative language, and a good metal scream or too would have greatly increased my enjoyment.
And the AI voice narration... Whoof. Nobody could have seen what would become of AI voices, and I'm sure they only did it to make their character sound properly inhuman, but this time it's simply a victim of time and happenstance.
But for good things to say about part 3, the association of humanity with the revolting act of vomiting fucking slaps. I hate to self-fellate, but i wrote a fic a while back about a transhumanist who wished to make himself feel disgusted to tie himself to his old flesh body (which is so far removed from MLP canon im sure ill just deponify it at some point and release it as a short story), and i still love the idea that the imperfect and wretched parts of our biology are what make us people. The ending track might as well make up for every criticism I had previously about the album. It's fucking perfect, and it's not even what i came for.

I know I wasn't the person that originally asked about Giyuucore songs but that post caught my interest because you mentioned a lot of songs and some of my favorites👀
I'd really like to hear your thoughts on Gilded Lily! I've seen it taken in a couple different contexts online but idk anyone that listens to it. After Dark is another banger but I never considered thinking of it as Giyuucore. the same thing with Little Dark Age talk about blorbo, think about blorbo :)
also I listened to The Mute and The Missing Road for the tag you left on my one drabble and 😭 i see it so clearly with how so socially awkward little blorbo is
usually i think of my music taste as mainstream but not like. Popular mainstream yk? usually at least, since i started only really using spotify it kinda just Sticks with popular... (i just think the music i listen to its pretty all over the place) anyway-
Gilded Lily got me from the chorus haven't i given enough? giyuu gives his all yet still all the shit that happens to him and the people he loves... with him in mind the lyric reads as more a polite way of asking higher powers 'havent you taken enough from me?' yk?
always the fool with the slowest heart hes always behind his peers and misunderstood, negative feedback loop of hiding further in himself and straying further behind
but i know youll take me with you when he loves he gives a piece of himself, so when they're lost they take a piece of him with them i know ill take you with me the haori he so dearly cares for
we'll live in spaces between walls how ghosts are respected as existing in a third place, the border between life and death- how giyuu does something similar, as close as a ghost you can get without death- hes treats himself the same as the ghosts that haunt him
last lyric for gilded lily is manga spoliers and iirc youre an anime-only, so ill keep that one under wraps lmao
-------
After Dark is all dreams and broken memories, the echo-y voice and faraway sound of the piano all tinged with melancholy (probably shoulda put it with the sabigiyuu playlist lmao)
i see you, you see me - how pleasant, this feeling - the moment you hold me - i missed you, im sorry - ive given what I have - i showed you I'm growing - the ashes fall slowly - as your voice consoles me only alive in his dreams, the reprieve of being in sabito's arms hurts from its fleeting nature. his chance at trying to right his wrongs of being too weak, a demon's dying ashes as proof, sabito's voice (a faded memory of, distorted with unfamiliarity) telling him he doesnt need to prove himself of anything
as the hours pass - i will let you know - that i need to ask - before I'm alone - how it feels to rest - on your patient lips - to eternal bliss - im so glad to know the false feeling of lips against his, only as good as a dream gets. (he knows it isnt real, it doesnt feel real, its heaven nonetheless) a kiss that never happened, never will happen, hes just happy to have known him at all (even if the memories are so painful)
we're swaying to drum beats - in motion, im feeling - my patience controlling - the question, i wont speak two hearts in sync as their sword swings, giyuu always holds his tounge until the perfect moment (a perfect moment doesnt exist)
we're telling the stories - our laughter, he knows me - we're leaving, we're talking - youre closer, it's calming reliving faded memories- happy times and the march to their shared grave. the impeding dread of Knowing simmers to an empty lull when their hands brush as they walk
the night will hold us close and the stars will guide us home - ive been waiting for this moment, we're finally alone - i turn to ask the question, so anxious, my thoughts a calm rest with another painful dream of a man that doesnt exist
your lips were soft like winter, in your passion, i was lost their lips meet, painfully cold and oh so dead against his, only for a moment. he opens his eyes to the crystal clear memory of the determined fire behind rounded eyes before he turned. white haori disappearing to the forest, vision blurred, red trailed down his face, what was he supposed to do now?
-------
Little Dark Age is super gloomy and sorta like. corrupted church vibes. idk how to explain that. the tone of voice singing keeping the note flat (except in the chorus) the background music echoing itself it just overall reminds me of devilman crybaby's corrupted demonic vibe. Smells Blood(kensuke ushio). dvmcb has a more Taken And Run By Evil/Satan kinda vibe whereas little dark age is more God Left Us
the lyrics are a narration, his own thoughts and feelings he never speaks aloud but says if you listen close enough.
the ruins of the day, painted with a scar dont need to explain that one
and, the more i straighten out, the less it wants to try the amount of willpower it takes him to just keep going
oh-oh, forgiving who you are, for what you stand to gain - just know that if you hide, it doesnt go away/i grieve in stereo, the stereo sounds strange - you know that if it hides, it doesn't go away self-narration, how much he still hurts despite hardening his heart against it all
when you get out of bed, dont end up stranded - horrified. with each stone. on the stage - my little dark age stranded in the stagelight, stone upon stone tied to him always weighing him down
specifically ties with the other lyric- come find us heading for the bridge, bring a stone, all the rage, my little dark age he thinks he deserves it, peoples hatred and anger at his failure, he ties the stones himself
if I get out of bed, you'll see me standing all alone, horrified, on the stage, my little dark age all of this song ties specifically to this one imagery i have of sabito and giyuu and hashira overall- theyre the ones that bare the light that destroys demons. with their strength they cast shadows for other slayers and innocent people to hide behind, still safely in the light but not being burned by it as they are.
Giyuu and Sabito were supposed to bare that light together, strengthened by eachother casting shadows where the other's weakest and baring the burn with eachother side by side, they were supposed to cast a shadow large enough to shield everyone they cared for, to not lose everyone they love again.
this line was the start of it all- waking up alone on the stage being wholly burned by the light with no respite. the blinding light instead signaling his little dark age
also yeah!!! the self-isolating, lonely theme of those songs is literally just Him. it speaks for itself so clearly i dont even know how i could explain it to someone who knows giyuu but doesnt understand how The Mute & The Missing Road relate to him. its just. Its Him man. you gotta believe me. if you only listen with your ears, i cant get in - and a heart always holds, onto missing roads MAN CMON ITS RIGHT THERE-
#tomioka giyuu#loserboy giyuu posting#fratboy sabito posting#i think giyuu in regards to sabito puts him on a pedestal. worships him as a god and says he'll never compare to. devoted to a fault.#also i dont like how much i Dont think of tsutako w these songs bc she was literally The Start of it. she was his everything and she gave#her all for his wellbeing and it just set him to believe he didnt fucking deserve it. his life shouldnt have costed *hers* in his#eyes and that shaped his attitude towards himself for the rest of his life#also just now realizing i have Slow Doown(crx) in giyuucore and Hurry Hurry(air traffic controller) in sabitocore#BRO ITS FUCKING-#dude#'ooh im gonna miss something - if i keep bumping - the most significant stuff#all my friends and all the loose ends - and this love of mine- cause im running out of time'#'who am i? am i still the same guy? or have i lost something as i keep stomping#mind and health - every bit of myself - i ignore the signs as im running out of time'#'a year goes by - you wonder why - not much is done - youve run too much - in parallel - now hurry hurry is your hell'#vs#'when i see you speeding by - all i do is wave goodbye - i wish i could buy some time - enough to get it right#oh slow down - slow down - slow down - oh slow down - slow down - slow down'#the juxtaposition#sabito needing to do as much as he possibly can with the people he cares about to feel like they did enough together#giyuu needing the people he cares about to slow down and just savor & bask in the time they have together#both of them feeling like the time they share with others are limited- yet going about it in completely different ways#both wanting to be able to do something about it- but sabito pushing himself to do it all to the point it kills him while giyuu#pushes himself but never truly believes it'll amount to anything worthwhile#-------nsfw further tags-------#also find it exceedingly amusing that it fits my giyuu overstim kink & sabito denial kink hc<3#sabito's great at keeping it going while giyuu knows how to drag it out~ theyr perfect 4 eachother<3<3#man im *really* bad at not making everything about sabigiyuu lmao

omg could you do vampire or werewolf elvis headcanons? im in the spooky mood and i think you’d write that so well, especially like a darker theme!!
I went overboard with this one😅 Both scenarios are AU-ish and take place in the 80s. I took from the line “I’ve been playing this mausoleum for 1,000 years” for a vampire Vegas-era Elvis but also I love the idea of Graceland being this like creepy old mansion no one goes in because it’s supposedly haunted so...enjoy🧛🏻♂️
Vampire!Austin!Elvis x Reader
Warning: Dark themes such as emotional blackmail, death, blood, and obsessive and manipulative behavior, which some people may find disturbing or triggering. Mild sexual content that involves coercion. Do not interact if you are under 18 or post thinspo/ED content.
Graceland (’50s Elvis)
Growing up, you heard stories of Graceland—people going in never to be seen again, soft music coming from the supposedly abandoned house late at night
It stopped being so scary after you got to high school, but even so, it was an unspoken rule to stay the hell away from there
You go out drinking with coworkers one night, a new coworker of yours unfamiliar with the old place and the stories behind it, which leads to the group of you stumbling through Memphis to get there
Perhaps wanting to prove something to yourself and your peers, you volunteer to go inside, insisting the stories are bullshit and it’s just another eyesore building that the city won’t do anything about
You go in with a little keychain flashlight one of your coworkers hands you and scale the fence surrounding the dilapidated old mansion
The doors are boarded up, most of the windows too, and you can hear your coworkers calling you back, that you made your point, but some inexplicable feeling draws you in, you enter the dark house and go up the flight of dusty stairs
A faint glow comes from beneath one of the doors along with the soft sound of a guitar, and against your better judgment, you open it. Both you and the unbelievably handsome yet familiar looking man you encounter stare at each other in equal shock. As soon as you see his eyes glow red and impossibly sharp fangs, you run
You know it’s probably pointless and he’ll find you sooner or later, but you hide in one of the many rooms in the mansion and are in disbelief to find it’s filled with posters, buttons, even pillows with his face and name adorned on all of them—Elvis
You barely have time to think before the door swings open. He crosses the room and grabs you by the shoulders. Despite your begging to not hurt you, that you swear you won’t tell anyone, he sinks his fangs into your neck and between the pain and the sound of your skin breaking you pass out
You wake up in the room you found him in, god knows how long ago, because your head is pounding and you’re starving and thirsty. Your now captor stares at you like a deer in the headlights, as if he wasn’t the monster
“I’m glad you’re okay. I didn’t want to kill you, but I can’t help it sometimes,” he says. You balk at his statement, hardly calling the situation you were in okay
Elvis is lonely and reclusive, a sadness in his unnervingly red eyes that makes you almost feel sorry for him whenever he slinks into the room to check on you and bring you an odd offering of food because he isn’t sure what humans eat
He refuses to allow you out of the room, he thinks you’re not well enough yet. He entertains you by singing and tell you stories
His voice is soft and low as he tells you that he was at the height of his popularity as a musician when he was turned (he refused to go into the details on that), but afterward he couldn’t control his hunger and killed his family and management team
Too horrified and ashamed of himself, he only leaves Graceland to feed when absolutely necessary, otherwise keeping himself in his self-imposed purgatory because he doesn’t want to hurt people
You believe him, because besides that first night, he hasn’t done anything violent or dangerous, until some of your coworkers return to the house, looking for you
Elvis had always been frustratingly avoidant and vague when you asked how long you’d been there or when you could leave, but when they call out your name saying the police didn’t believe their story but they had to come back for you, desperately searching every nook and cranny in the place to bring you home, he snaps
You follow him as he storms out of the room, almost as if he’s floating on air as he descends on each of your coworkers, brutalizing them as you watch in horror, screaming for him to stop—he does, only after killing the last one, wiping the fresh blood from his mouth and meeting your terrified expression with one of wild desperation
“You can’t leave, Y/N. I can’t be alone again,” he pleads, as if you have a choice. He turns you, holding you as you go through the painful transformation to become one of the undead, to be with him forever
Vegas (’70s Elvis)
After an almost frustratingly long interview process, you get a job as a cigarette girl at the International Hotel in Las Vegas. You’d never had a job make you sign an NDA before, but you figure it came with the territory–it’s your dream job, but you’d heard they made good tips, even if it meant looking the other way when wealthy patrons got ahead of themselves
Your first few weeks of work are uneventful, and you make more in tips in a night than you did in a week at your old job. Plus, you’d become friends with most of the girls you worked with, but you couldn’t help but notice how often they seemed to quit, how long it’d take to replace them, and how none of them seemed to be working there for very long
While getting ready to go out to the showroom before whatever act was slated to perform for the next few weeks, your boss power-walked into the breakroom. “The penthouse wants a personal delivery,” he says, pointing to you. “Don’t keep him waiting”
You nod, grabbing your tray and rushing out of the breakroom. One of your coworkers stops you, jokingly asking what the rush is for. You feel a pit in your stomach at the way her expression shifts when you tell her
Whoever’s up there is probably just an asshole, you assure yourself. Nothing you haven’t dealt with before, you hope as you push the elevator button to bring you to the top floor of the hotel
You walk up to the door of the penthouse suite apprehensively, feeling like an idiot when you knock and say “Cigarette delivery”
The door opens a crack, and suddenly your apprehension seems to disappear as you let yourself into the room. The lights are dim, and most of the illumination comes from the glow of the Vegas Strip through the window. You don’t see anyone, until the door slams shut behind you, and you jump, dropping half the cigarette boxes in your tray on the floor
“Sorry,” you stammer to the man who’s just made his presence known to you. “I didn’t see you there. Sorry.”
He studies your trembling form for a few moments, before kicking the dropped boxes out of his way and stalking over to you. Even in the darkness of the room you can tell he’s handsome, but you can’t make out the specific features of his face. He looks so familiar, and you find yourself staring at his full lips until they pull back into more of a snarl than a smile to reveal abnormally sharp canines
“What d’you got, baby?” the man asks, his voice thick like honey as it rumbled from deep in his chest. You list off the cigarettes you have on hand, including the ones on the floor, and he grabs a box of Luckies and hands you a hundred dollar bill after watching you bend down to pick up the boxes you’d dropped
You aren’t sure how much time has passed by the time you get back downstairs, but your coworker looks genuinely shocked to see you. You pull her aside and ask her what the fuck is going on
“Honestly, Y/N, I don’t know. The girls who go up there–you’re the first one who’s ever come back down,” she whispers, her paranoid gaze traveling throughout the room
When you tell your boss you quit, he pulls out the NDA you signed but didn’t read over, which states in one of the clauses that you had to work there at least a year or forfeit all of your earnings since you started. You didn’t have that kind of money on hand, not after spending so much of it already
You can hardly sleep the next week, especially when another cigarette girl goes up to the penthouse suite, and when you inquire her whereabouts the following night, your boss tells you that she quit–which makes no sense because she’d been working there less than you had and he wouldn’t let you quit. You don’t question it to his face, though, but you spend your sleepless hours trying to figure a way out
It’s only a matter of time before you’re called up to the penthouse again, you know as much, but it doesn’t terrify you any less when your boss tells you that the occupant asked for you specifically. You take deep breaths as the elevator ascends, hoping by some miracle it gets stuck
The door to the suite is already open halfway when you get there, and you stand in the doorway, looking around for the man. “What’re you so afraid of, baby? Think I bite?” he teases from the other side of the room, though you swear he hadn’t been standing there a moment ago
Just as you’re a foot or so away from him, he flicks on the lights, and you gasp upon recognizing Elvis Presley. The resemblance was way too uncanny to be one of the dozen or so impersonators you saw on your first day in Vegas–but it wasn’t possible, it couldn’t be him. He was dead, and even if he were alive he’d look much older
He beckons you closer with a curl of his pointer finger, and you find yourself pressed against his chest, the tray of cigarette boxes thrown to the floor as he kissed you deeply, pulling away only to pierce your lower lip with his fangs, lapping up the blood that pooled from it despite your resistance
His crimson eyes raked over your figure as you held your bloodied lip, tears streaming down your face. “I knew there was a reason I couldn’t stop thinkin’ about you, baby”
“Please don’t kill me,” you choke out
The grin that spreads across his face is nothing short of evil, “No, I’m not gonna kill you. In fact, I think I’ll keep you around a while”
He tears off your skimpy uniform like it’s made of paper, sinking his fangs into one of your exposed breasts. As he sucks and licks the blood coming from it, you collapse in his arms, feeling yourself being carried over to his bed

IT HAD ONLY been a few days since your run-in with the self-proclaimed ‘Night Stalker’ yet it felt like years had passed. The memory of the event was constantly running through your mind, seeming to occupy your every thought. It was as if your mind was filled only with visions of dark hair and piercing dark eyes. It had gotten to the point where it was consuming you, distracting you from anything that wasn’t the thought of him. It was impossible to focus. You weren’t exactly sure that you wanted to. The part of you that desperately longed for the dark stranger to reappear and tear you away from your dilapidating life was overtaking you. You had almost wished that you would have given in to his demands that night. Almost. Something had been holding you back that night and something- someone- was still holding you back, tethering you to the place you had grown to despise.
Letting out a sigh, you stared at yourself in front of the bathroom mirror, attempting to shake away the thoughts that continuously plagued you. The ghost of a bruise still showed underneath your eye, barely noticeable with the makeup that you had delicately applied over it. You looked better than you had in the days before, but you still weren’t keen on leaving the confines of the four walls of your bedroom, let alone your apartment. You hadn’t left the house since that night. You were sure everyone thought that you were spiraling- He had probably twisted the story into that narrative. You turned away from the mirror, leaning against the base of the sink. It was time to face the situation at hand. You could already feel the silent judgment of Montana. She had told you so. “Fuck.”
It shouldn’t have mattered that much to you- what everyone thought. It’s not like they had too much room to judge. They were your friends, sort of, but they didn’t rule you. They weren’t the end all be all. Still, you couldn’t help but feel nervous at the thought of facing them. It had been days of voicemails, knocks on the door, and missed phone calls. You had gone ghost. They wouldn’t have expected anything else, though. It wasn’t unlike you to disappear. You were used to disappointing everyone.
After a few more minutes of anxiety and deliberation, you laid out a pretty white line, snorted it down, and got ready to head out the door. At the very least, you could show up to aerobics and casually run into everyone. By the time you got there, you were sure you could figure out how to gloss over all of the problems that kept on appearing.
****
The Aerobics studio hadn’t changed much in your week of absence. The faces of the instructors were still plastered on the walls, yours still included much to your surprise. The chairs strategically placed throughout the lobby were occupied by young adults, laughing at something one of them had said. The ambiance was peaceful and you suddenly wished that you would have shown up for work in the last week. The thought quickly diminished as you thought back to the bruise that had been occupying your face. There was no way you would have shown up with that. You wouldn’t have given him the satisfaction. Stepping up to the front desk, you leaned against the counter lazily.
“Hi. Do you have any classes with vacant spaces open for today, Janice?” You asked the receptionist a bit awkwardly, looking at the wall behind her as you spoke.
The woman looked up, purposefully making direct eye contact. She looked you up and down, judgement written all over her face. “Yes. The instructor position for the class you teach at 6:30, (Y/N). If you want to keep your job, I suggest you get prepared for it and go teach it.”
You couldn’t help but cringe at her tone. The attitude dripped off of it like poison. Truth be told, you had thought that you had already been fired. That is generally what happens after you drop off of the face of the planet for a week. “Right- I’ll just go ahead and get set up to start, then. Thank you.”
“You’re lucky that you showed up today. You’re really pushing it with your delinquent behavior. Shape up or ship out, sweetheart. This is the last time you’re getting exceptions. You’re really lucky that Montana covered your classes for the week. Now, get moving. It’s 6:20. Studio 3.”
Janice hardly gave you time to react, as she stood up and began to push you towards the direction of the studio. Her cold touch caused an unpleasant shiver to shoot through your spine. Your mind instantly drifted to your unwelcome house guest, though the shiver he gave you was not exactly unpleasant- You mentally scolded yourself for obsessing over the ‘Night Stalker’, before practically bursting into the studio.
It felt as if a million eyes landed on you from the moment you opened the door. The never-ending stares seemed to burn holes into your skin. One pair of eyes, in particular, seemed to stare the deepest. Xavier. You flickered your gaze to meet his, the other people in the room disappearing into a sort of tunnel that consumed the sides of your vision. Your heart caught in your chest. You wanted to tear your eyes away, but there was something stopping you. Something about Xavier always seemed to hold you back. His gaze was pleading, an apology seeming to spill out of it.
“(Y/N)! I thought you were going to be out for a while! Xavier said that you were like super sick or something.” Montana’s voice rang out, casually. “So happy you’re here though. Teaching this class has been such a drag.”
At the sound of the young woman’s voice, your head instinctively jerked towards it. You plastered a pained smile onto your face. “Yeah- thanks for covering for me, Montana. I seriously owe you one. Being sick was a major drag. Probably worse than teaching this class of Cyndi Lauper obsessed boys.”
The blonde let out a laugh. “Well, since you’re back, I’ll let you take this one. And maybe take your man out when you’re done. He’s been such a buzzkill lately.”
Montana gave you a wink, patting your shoulder affectionately. With a final wave to you and Xavier, she slipped out the door and disappeared down the hall with a flash of blonde hair. Not wanting to waste any more time, or give Xavier the chance to talk to you, you flicked the boom box on and let the sound of Billy Idol’s voice fill the room.
****
The entirety of the class went by uneventfully. Billy Idol’s soothing tone seemed to temporarily soother your anxiety, making it easier for you to ignore the pained glances that were becoming more and more inescapable. You left the music on as the class drew to a close, turning the volume down to a soft, but audible hum. You didn’t bother to look as everyone made their way to the door. Instead, you moved towards the front of the room, letting yourself face the large windows that looked out towards the city.
You watched as people leaving the last few classes of the evening walked down the sidewalk, off into the night. Some faces were familiar, regulars that always seemed to be in aerobics class. Other faces, unfamiliar and new. They all seemed so happy, as if their lives were perfect. You wished that you could get a taste of that feeling. You continued to admire the citizens of Los Angeles, lost in your thoughts. Then, in a sudden flash, there was a single face that stuck out in the crowd. Unmistakable dark hair and piercing eyes that could have belonged only to the face that you could never forget. You locked eyes with the man, causing a sinister smile to appear on his face. He moved closer to the building. Your heart skipped a beat. He was headed towards the door. Your eyes were still locked with his, nothing could-
“(Y/N)... Can we talk about what happened the other night? Please… I didn’t mean for it to go so far.” Xavier’s voice hit your ears, soft and pleading.
You broke away from the ‘Night Stalker’s’ gaze, slowly turning to face the man that you had once felt so strongly for. You leaned against the windows behind you, pressing your nearly bare back against the cool glass. Xavier took a few steps closer, leaving only a few inches between your faces. You couldn’t help but flinch as he reached out to tenderly touch your face. Hurt flashed across his face briefly, but his hand still gently came into contact with your soft skin. You let your eyes flutter closed and sucked in a sharp breath. “I- I can’t do this,” you whispered, hot tears pricking in the inner corner of your eyes. So many different emotions were running through your body. The urge to run away from him had never been so heightened.
He grazed his thumb gingerly across your jawline, his voice dropping to a whisper. “I’m so sorry, Please. I just wanted it so badly and I thought that was the only way. And I didn’t want anyone to find out. The way you looked at me when you did- I lost it. I thought you would tell everyone. I thought you would leave me. I’m so sorry.”
You had yet to respond to him when a cutting voice interrupted the scene unfolding before you. “Well, well, well. What do we have here?” The deep voice questioned, sinister laughter etched into his tone.
“N-?” You began, eyes flickering open. You met the dark haired man’s eyes, looking directly past Xavier. He was already staring at you intensely, the usual smirk plastered on his face.
“Richard.” He corrected, moving his eyes from you to the other man in your company. Xavier had moved away from you by this point, looking at Richard with a suspicious glare. Richard simply continued to smirk at him, looking more and more devilish as time passed. “My little angel, didn’t expect to see you so soon. What a pleasant surprise.”
“Okay. Who the fuck are you?” Xavier demanded, his hand wrapping around your forearm in a protective manner. You instinctively recoiled to his touch. You shifted your weight from one foot to another, watching as the two began to go back and forth.
“I’m the devil’s favorite prodigy. It’s more like ‘who the fuck are you?’” The other man taunted. His eyes locked on the contact point of yours and Xavier’s skin. An unreadable emotion flashed across his face, but was quickly replaced with his usual infuriating smirk. “I’ve decided I’m here to collect her. Truth be told, it wasn’t originally in my master and I’s plan, but it seems like I stumbled in at the perfect time, with you harassing my girl.”
“Your-? (Y/N), are you fucking this guy? We get into one fight and you’re off giving it out to this creep?” The blonde questioned, his tone demanding and incredulous. His voice rose with every word that he spoke. He was red in the face by this point. You could tell by the clench in his jaw and the way his hand tightened around you that he was angry. The smug expression of Richard definitely wasn’t helping his reaction either.
You tried to ignore the fear that had begun to creep into the back of your mind, your mind flashing back to his closed fist accidentally ramming into your face. You looked up at him with your tear stained face. Words were failing you. You didn’t exactly want to say that Richard had broken into your house, pinned you against a wall, and sparked something inside of you that made you feel so many fucked up things. Was it really more fucked up than what you felt about Xavier after everything that he had done? You weren’t so sure any more. Xavier seemed to take your silence and lack of denial as a ‘yes’ to his questions. Disgust took over his face, his hand tossing your arm away as if it had suddenly turned into some sort of cursed object.
He scoffed at you, shoving you away from his body. “I can’t believe you would do this to me. Maybe you deserved that.” He spat out venomously, angrily gesturing to the hardly hidden bruise underneath your eye.
You flinched as his hand raised. Something seemed to click into place for the dark haired man as he watched the two of you, your reaction triggering the darkest part of him. You hardly had time to react further, before Richard was in front of you. His left arm pressed back against your body, gently shoving you behind him. His right hand was adorned with his blade, ready to slash at the man before him. “You did that to her? For your sake, I hope you say no. I’d hate to have to kill you right here. It would really throw a wrench into the master’s plans and we both hate that.”
Your hand reached out slowly, tugging on the edge of this sleeve, beckoning his eyes to meet your eyes. He complied, looking over his shoulder quickly. You shook your head at him, a silent plea for him to drop it. He was already acting psychotic enough to have the police called on him and you were sure that would be the last thing that he wanted. He looked back to Xavier, who was staring at him incredulously. “Get the fuck out of here or die,” The dark haired man spat out.
Xavier gave you a pointed look, before shoving past the both of you and storming out of the studio. You knew he would show up at your apartment later, demanding explanations for the psychotic interaction that just went down. You would figure out a way to avoid that later. For now, your full attention was on Richard. He turned towards you, dark eyes studying the every feature on your face. His hand hovered over the side of your neck, before gently pushing your hair to the side. His fingers softly trailed down the side of your throat, traveling down your chest. Like a phantom, they grazed the length of your body, sending a shiver down your spine. Your heart skipped a beat in your chest. You softly bit down on your bottom lip, eyes staring straight into his. “You’re mine now, little angel. I’ll kill for you. I’ll die for you. But you have to be mine forever- That’s the catch. Will you sell your soul to the devil?”
“I will.”

FOB VS TAYLOR
Dress got the carving a name into a bedpost
Fall out boy has "Im just a notch on your bed post, but you're just a line in a song"
and Taylor went a step further with "omg she's insane she wrote a song about me"
--------------
The save rock and roll album and all music videos (for anyone unfamiliar they did a mv for each song that, from start to finish tell a story about the band fighting against people that want to end music in general, and also have easter eggs to their own lore) and here are all the other connections I've found with Taylor in passing:
-bad girls in biker outfits that remind of biker Taylor (these are the people that hate music and want to end it)
-"tonight the foxes hunt the hounds, it's all over now, before it has begun"
the are the hunters we are the foxes/ archer and prey
-a more extreme (read violent) dinnertable scene than in blank space in young volcanoes
- "I don't know where you're going
But do you got room for one more troubled soul?
I don't know where I'm going
But I don't think I'm coming home" very willow-like
-"I'm in the de-details with the devil"
devils roll the dice, devil's in the details
-"Your crooked love is just a pyramid scheme and I'm dizzy on dreams"
crooked love in a straight line down
-"It's getting clear, you're never coming clean
So lock you up inside and swallow, swallow the key"
the key necklace and all the doors in the 1989 era plus CLEAN
-pete wentz biting into an apple (just one yesterday mv) and then spitting out the bite (along with a snake) like the dude in blank space does
-also an orange snake mixed in the vids
-"I know I'm bad news" repeated in the backing vocals of just one yesterday
-a mirrorball appearing multiple times very out of place (dining room table, hospital room)
-orange jumpsuit in a cell by patrick stump and we got taylor in an orange jumpsuit in lwymmd in a cage
-"The person that you'd take a bullet for is behind the trigger" sounds like the explanation for mtr
- "You are what you love, not who loves you", "wherever I go trouble seems to follow", "How'd it get to be only me? (me, me, me)"
wherever you stray I follow/trouble's gonna follow where i go
oh this one is your best work

Jordan...I think you know what i'm requesting for. 👀I would like to request a disneyland date w/ aizawa please! However long you like, and whatever style you prefer (hc, drabble, scenarios etc.), I'll love it in whatever form. You're writing is amazing as always, tysm~ 💗🌙
this was an absolute delight to write, it gave me all the serotonin but also made me miss disneyland. im gonna go through my photos from my trips now lol thank you for this
↳ aizawa shouta x reader → ❝disneyland❞
summary: your boyfriend aizawa takes you on a date to your favorite place word count: 1.9k+ tags/warnings: fluff, disneyland a/n: if you want some song recommendations for this married life from up and i see the light from tangled (it’s mentioned in the story so playing it there would be the perfect timing)
masterlist
For someone who seemed so indifferent, Aizawa was very invested in you, and the things that made you happy. That’s how you ended up at your favorite place on earth for what you could already tell would be a perfect day.
The two of you were at Disneyland and Aizawa knew exactly how you liked to spend the day there. You got there before park opening, getting beignets at Downtown Disney for breakfast. A terrible sugary fried dough that was not a balanced breakfast but did it matter? You were at Disneyland. You laughed at Aizawa as he took a bite trying to avoid getting the powdered sugar on his black shirt. He failed but that gave you an excuse to brush the sugar off his chest.
Waiting in line to enter the park always left you with that giddy feeling in your stomach. Walking in through Main Street, music playing and the scent of fresh popcorn and cookies in the air you looked at Aizawa asking him what he wanted to do first.
“Space mountain?” He asked. “If we get there fast enough there won’t be a line.”
“I love your mind.” You said before you grabbed his hand and took off running towards the ride. Tomorrowland was always a fun place to start, and after you hit space mountain you could go on the smaller rides there.
“Okay, but what are we doing for the photo?” You asked walking through the hallways into the loading dock for the ride.
“Hmm.” He said. You always had to plan for a pose for the photo in the ride. Aizawa didn’t care but he always indulged your ideas. “Can’t think of anything.” He said.
Aizawa was a liar. As you got to the spot where the picture was taken, which both of you knew well, he grabbed your face pulling you in for a kiss. By the time you got to the screens where the photo showed you were laughing at how shocked and flustered you looked.
Of course, you got a copy of the photo.
After Space Mountain, the two of you made your ways to Star Tours then after that Buzz Lightyear’s Astro Blasters. The two of you always had a fun time on it. The ride was both a ride and a game where you shot a laser gun at targets. No matter how hard you tried you could never beat his high score. Today was not an exception.
You were starting to think he was cheating, how was it even possible to get a score that high. And he was so indifferent about it. You gave him a hard time about his score as you exited the ride.
“It just doesn’t make sense how you’re that good.” You whined.
“I don’t know what to tell you.” He replied taking your hand in his as you returned to the more crowded area of Tomorrowland.
“It’s not fair.” You said your thumb absentmindedly rubbing against the back of his hand.
“Do you want to go to Matterhorn or Thunder Mountain next?” He asked.
“Hmm, Matterhorn is closer.” You said. He nodded and headed in that direction leading you through all the people. You passed the water of the Nemo ride, watching as the submarines went by.
As you approached Matterhorn you could hear the rattle of the carts going by and people screaming. The sound got you excited for the next ride. The polka music playing as you lined up in the queue.
Matterhorn was one of your favorites even if Aizawa complained about how much it threw you around.
“I think it threw my back out of place.” He complained rubbing his shoulder.
“Aww, baby.” You cooed, walking behind him and rubbing his shoulders. “Maybe if we go on it again it will put it back?”
“I’d rather not take my chances.” He said rolling his eyes at your joke.
“Can I get you some popcorn to make it up to you?” You said, leaning up to press your cheek against his as you continued to rub his back.
“Maybe.” He said.
Popcorn made every line better no matter the wait time. The sun was high in the sky as the two of you crossed through Fantasyland into the back way to Frontierland. You passed by the track of the roller coaster Thunder Mountain, the train car coaster flying past into the intricate desert mountain architecture. You looked at Aizawa excited as you made your way to the queue, snacking on popcorn as you waited.
After Thunder Mountain you went on to Pirates of the Caribbean, appreciating the scent of the water that was so unique to Disneyland. On the ride you found Aizawa’s head resting against your shoulder, you couldn’t blame him it was dark and cool. The perfect nap spot. Since the boat ride was so long it left you with a good amount of time to do so. Not that Aizawa needed any of those luxuries.
Once you were off the ride Aizawa was looking refreshed after his power nap so it was time for you to drag him to his least favorite ride. Splash Mountain.
Aizawa was a brave man, there was no question about it. If he was Superman, Splash Mountain was his kryptonite. He hated the ride, there was something about the drop at the end that he could not handle. This didn’t mean he wouldn’t go on it but he suffered through it every time. All it took was one puppy-eyed look and he was getting in line with a sigh.
On the ride you took the front seat happily as Aizawa sat behind you, holding onto your waist for dear life despite the fact that you hadn’t even left the loading dock.
The ride floated through the log flume as you moved through the different scenery. As it went inside with all the animatronics you danced along with the song humming as you did. The ride went further and the song got menacing as the log began to climb up to the top of the drop. Aizawa now had his head buried into your shoulder as the light got closer.
Once you reached the top you enjoyed the brief view of Disneyland before it plummeted to the bottom, water spraying you as you laughed.
“I hate that.” You heard Aizawa mumble into your shoulder.
As the two of you climbed out he grumbled about how much he hated wet socks as you walked out of the ride. You couldn’t help but snap a photo of the photo the ride took. Your smiling face with Aizawa’s hair covering your shoulder was too good to pass up.
In your gratitude you took Aizawa to his favorite food spot in the park, the clam chowder at Disneyland was amazing and you could never resist. You were able to dry off as you ate and Aizawa looked much happier after eating.
Indiana Jones was the next stop, always an exciting ride and one that didn’t torture Aizawa. In fact, you thought it might be his favorite ride, not that he ever admitted to having a particular favorite. He claimed he liked all the rides, Splash Mountain excluded.
Once you were off that you spent the rest of the day on the smaller rides that didn’t have as long of lines.
The sun began to sink into the horizon and lights began to go on. Disneyland at night was nearly another place. The perfect lighting throughout the park was such an experience.
Finally, the event of the night was here, the fireworks. Now, most people went for the spot in front of the castle to watch it. Which was a good place but it was always very crowded and you had to go early to get a spot which wasted a lot of time you could spend on rides.
The best spot was in Fantasyland, by the carousel. You could watch the fireworks from behind the castle and there were never too many people there. You stood next to Aizawa, Fantasyland was pretty much empty other than a few people in line for Dumbo. The carousel stood in front of you but it was closed during the fireworks.
Aizawa’s right arm was wrapped around you holding you close to his side. You leaned your head against his shoulder as the fireworks began. Music played and fireworks lit up the sky.
You watched in awe at the display, it didn’t matter how many times you had seen it before it was always so beautiful. A familiar song began, I See the Light from Tangled. That song always managed to make you tear up. You were so engrossed in the moment that you didn’t pay any attention Aizawa touching your hand.
That was until you felt cold metal against your finger. You looked down curious what was happening only to see a ring on your left hand. You stared at it trying to understand if what you thought was happening was really happening right now.
Looking up to Aizawa you saw an unfamiliar expression on his face, something between nervousness and excitement. Your eyes teared up, the fireworks around you, the music swelling to the peak of the song, the ring on your finger asking you a question you understood far too well.
“S-Shouta are you?” You questioned.
“Will you marry me?” He asked, his words so heartfelt only pushing more tears from your eyes.
“Y-Yes,” You answered. “Of course!”
Aizawa leaned down, one hand on your cheek and the other around your shoulders as he kissed you.
You loved Aizawa and there was no question in your mind what your answer would be to him. There was no one else you could imagine spending the rest of your life with.
Disneyland was a great place for him to propose at and the way he had done it was literally perfect. The perfect setting and timing not to mention it was subtle but more meaningful than anything else could be.
You loved going to Disneyland with Aizawa.
It’s the way you hold hands through the crowds so he doesn’t lose you and how even when you are out of the crowd he still holds your hand. How he holds you from behind while you're in line, resting his head on your shoulder. That small smirk he gives you at the end of a ride when you look over at him with a big, excited smile. It’s sharing a pretzel, tearing off a piece of the bread and dipping it in the nacho cheese before stuffing it in his mouth for him. It’s how romantic it feels to walk together through the chilly night with the lights glowing perfectly around you.
There was no better way to spend a day with your boyfriend- no your fiance.
After the fireworks most of the crowds left, you took advantage of this going on all the popular rides again while there was no line. Once it got late, the park began to close and you both began to walk out through Main Street, the piano music filling the street like a goodbye.
“Do you want anything?” Aizawa asked gesturing to the gift shops.
“I think I have the best souvenir I could ask for after today.” You said holding up your left hand to him with a smile.
Aizawa smiled back taking your hand in his again, pressing a kiss to your forehead.
“Let’s go home, princess.” He said teasingly.

language: the principal method of human communication or
a systematic means of communicating ideas or feelings by the use of conventionalized signs, sounds, gestures, or marks having understood meanings
~
93% of communication is non-verbal. and i tried to learn a new language for you.
it was not an easy one. there were no textbooks, or online review tests, or vocabulary sheets. there was only my hastily scrawled notes trying to understand. there was only me, practicing my pronunciation in the mirror, watching my mouth form around unfamiliar vowels, my hands trying to learn how to hold the consonants so you might be able to better understand my accent. there was only you, trying to teach me a language that had never been transcribed.
you lend me one of your earbuds on the bus and play a song i cannot understand because there are just chords. just brushstrokes of sound. just melody threading notes together. the music is trying to say something. but you are trying to say something too by giving me this rythem. i cannot understand. but i listen anyways. and these are the ways in which i try to learn. you memorize my coffee order but forget my birthday. you never say you miss me but you look back twice exactly when we part every time. your eyes are always closed when we touch. i do not understand what these things say, or what you are trying to tell me but i listen anyways. and these are the ways in which i try to learn.
once, we don't speak for too long and the first night you spend in my bed again, i ask you, before i turn the light off, what it means. you don't look at me. you say you don't know. so i flick off the light switch and curl around myself under the covers. your hands find my hair, find my waist, find the soft skin of a scar, find the place where the flesh is thinnest between the world and my heart. i ask you what that means. you say it means, "you still have me." and so i kiss every one of your finger tips and in this way i respond, "i am glad." i let my legs tangle with yours under the blankets and in this way i say, "you still have me, too." in this moment you have not learnt my language yet either. but we are both learning. and some things are hard to misinterpret.
you take me to the movies to watch the same film for the second time. i do not understand what this is trying to say or what you are trying to tell me but i listen anyways. on the drive home, we take the leftover silence of the theatre with us, and i ask you what you meant when you did this. you are still picking the quiet out from your teeth with your tounge and so i say, "in my language, this means, 'i would choose the silence over your voice.' in my language this means 'you are only worth the past, over again. there is no moving forward, only backwards. until we fall into the oblivion from which we came'. " you pull off the road. you shake your head. say, "in my language, this means, 'the quiet is hard sometimes but never with you.' in my language, this means 'i think we have time enough to reread stories twice'. this means, 'you are the familar and for this i am grateful'. this means, 'i do not need adventure to stay'. that I am content to sit with you and the dark and devour a peice of the world together."
and so i come to learn that your leg slipping over my hip when i am just on the cusp of sleep means: i forgive you. learn that a sandwich found in the fridge made the night before for me to take to work means: im sorry. learn that the hour long shower means: not now. learn the bitting of the nails means: now. now, please. i learn the sunday morning pancakes mean: i love you. but so do the forehead kisses and the 1:30 am texts about tomorrow and the you telling me about your day. i learn the offer to fix my car means "let me be something for you, please." i learn 2 dirty mugs in the sink mean a bad day unless one of them is the red one and it's thursday, because then that just means working late, and in this way i learn about the context of a phrase.
you learn things too. pick them up slowly. through daily conversation. murmmer things in passing. nonchalant and nervous. i don't correct you. i just smile. because I know what you are trying to say.
i wince sometimes at the misused vocab and poorly built sentences that crumble quickly, but i do not offer to teach you until you ask. because i know for certain what you are saying then. saying:
i want to know how to speak to you in the language you feel most at home in.
i want to be able to know you in the words there are no direct translations for.
i want to be able to find you in the dialect you retreat to when the day has gone on too long.
you are saying:
i want to be able interpt everything you think there are no words in my language to say, and so you don't say them.
i want you to be able to tell me everything
you are telling me:
i want you to know that i want to try and talk to you even when it is hard.
you offer to walk with me in the fall afternoon even though you hate the crunch of the leaves that you say sounds too much like endings and i ask you if this offer means "i love you" or "i don't want to be alone right now" and you are looking away from me when you explain that sometimes things can have more than one meaning.
i tackle you half screaming half laughing when you buy us the concert tickets for my birthday and you ask me if this means "thank you" or "i love you" and i am smiling when i explain sometimes things can have more than one meaning.
i come home late to find you sobbing on the bathroom floor and i hold you for hours. i show you videos of baby's laughing until the tears subside long enough for you to kiss me with salt sorrow stained lips and i ask against your mouth if this means "thank you" or "i love you" and you whisper of how different things can have the same meaning and in this way i learn of synonyms.
sometimes the learning of a new language is difficult.
is frustrating.
is silences that scream two things in dissonance.
for the hardest things to define are the absences.
for there are a million subtle ways the pronunciation of quiet differs depending on what you are trying to convey.
sometimes learning a new language is
mistakes.
is misunderstandings.
is apologies
for violating customs
and muddling unfamiliar proverbs.
i'm sorry,
this is not my native tounge.
but i am trying.
i am learning.
if you are willing to teach me.
sometimes a new language is something we become fluent it. the bilingualism comes easy. it rolls off our tounge like second nature. you realize now there are new ways to love in this language. but there are also new ways the hurt. and new ways to heal. and new ways to apologize. you realize there are new ways to know someone when they are not afraid to be misheard.
sometimes a new language is a patchwork quilt of simple words and poorly stitched grammer. sometimes i pull out a few words at the restaurant to impress you. you smile less at the phrase, more at the gesture. sometimes i stumble over the words and you help me up, help me along the sentence, because you know it means the world to me to try for you.
sometimes all we can do is learn to understand. the words never come out right so we stop trying. but we listen. we nod. we laugh. we hold them at all the right parts of the story.
sometimes the greatest gift you can give someone is to understand
what they are trying to say.
when she makes paper flowers and sends me photos of them. i know she is trying to tell me: "look. i got out of bed today and created something beautiful. i thought of you in the slow process of the cultivation of this miracle." and i don't know how to reply. not in her language atleast. and so i don't. but i know what she means.
sometimes it is enough to understand someone.
sometimes it isn't.
sometimes a new language is not for us. we tell ourselves we are too old to pick it up. we tell ourselves it is too difficult. too forgien. too complicated. we try for the sake of saying we tried. but we don't.
in the end, we know how to say hello and goodbye and thank you and a handful of curse words. sometimes we know how to say i love you. in the formal tounge. with textbook pronouns and rigid verbs.
sometimes learning a language is
things lost in translation
is
how was I supposed to know what that meant?
is
why didn't you just tell me?
is
i didn't know how.
is
being too tired to roll your r's and remember the right tense.
sometimes learning a language is screaming everything you cannot translate at the language barrier between you. hoping they understand. hoping they don't.
but there is something unmatched about being welcomed home in your mother tounge.
something about being forgiven in words you could never misinterpret.
about being called to bed by the familar.

congrats on your milestone event!!! id like to request for kita soulmate!au with angst to fluff genre 👉👈 yknow sumn rejection shit bcs im hopeless like that wehee once again congrats! and i love your writing style :3
anon you’re gonna make me cry 🥺 seriously i’m happy you enjoy my writing and that you think my style’s okay! most of the time i go off of what kind of feelings i get when i’m writing or the imagery that comes up in my head and i’m never sure that it translates well enough for you guys to feel or see the same thing. hopefully as i keep writing then i’ll be able to show you guys what’s on my mind better when i’m writing! thank you again for requesting — seriously, it means a lot! and like always, you guys, don’t be afraid to come and talk to me on and off anon! your interactions mean a lot, especially for content creators! we love hearing what you all think, what you like/dislike about our work, what you think of certain characters — absolutely anything! come and talk with us more whenever you can 💕
writing for kita feels calming somehow. normally the things that come up in my chest or my mind when i write gets nearly overwhelming if that makes sense? like i’ll have to pause and remind myself to breathe because it takes up so much of my attention that i kinda get lost, but with kita, it feels more flowey to me. it’s not demanding but more like a gentle coaxing kind of thing or like looking at the surface of a calm river. i was initially scared to write for him because i was worried i wouldn’t get him right, but i feel satisfied with how this turned out, i think. i hope you guys will find it as calming as i found it too! it might not be exactly what you wanted, but because i had already written the rejection of a person for atsumu’s soulmate oneshot, i wanted to play around with kita’s character and make it instead the rejection of a concept/idea? which would indirectly lead to him... you know, rejecting his soulmate initially, but— ahhhhhh it might make sense to just read it!! these rambles keep getting longer and longer :v i’m sorry for that!! please go ahead and read and tell me what you think in the end! 💕
NOTNING MORE THAN HUMAN ➽ KITA SHINSUKE x READER
genre: angst to fluff
au: soulmate
warnings: none
shinsuke kita is human.
and of course, that much is obvious. he isn’t a machine that’s incapable of feelings and emotions, whose heart is unfamiliar with melodies of an overwhelming joy, or the quiet hymns of deep rooted sadness. his skin still burns under righteous fury and anger, his tongue still weighs heavy under hesitance and silent worries. at the end of every long day, he’s still human.
it’s because he’s human that the words on his collarbone feel so heavy, as if they might cave into the bone and destroy him under their weight. it’s because he’s human that the sight of black markings in the mirror clouds his mind with a new kind of fear and worry. shinsuke kita is human, but he’s long since taught himself how to abandon anxiety and nervousness. he surrounds himself in familiar routines that calm the turbulent voices of doubt, he builds habits that ground him to the earth lest he should be swept away by the current. shinsuke has taught himself not to be afraid for the things that will happen everyday, but meeting his soulmate isn’t one of those things he can prepare for.
it’s a strange concept, he considers to himself. shinsuke doesn’t believe in words like fate or destiny, doesn’t care for the higher powers that should judge his actions. as far as he’s concerned, his own will is what dictates where his life goes — he’s in control, and that’s how it’s always been for him. let the gods watch, if they must, but he’s already decided that he’ll live by what is right, and he wouldn’t dare falter in the face of it. and yet — and it’s such a strange thing for him to do so — he pauses under the notion of a soulmate, of a destined partner who’s supposedly bound to him for as long as he should live. at first, he hadn’t given the idea much thought; it wouldn’t serve any purpose to worry about something that would happen whether or not he wants it, he decided. the truth of it is inevitable, just as the leaves must fall in autumn and the earth should be buried under clouds of white in winter. shinsuke is human — what more can he do but to accept it?
the black words that spread across his skin like droplets of ink became the bitter seeds of doubt that he hadn’t felt in a long time. it’s raining a lot today, isn’t it? the sentence by itself is so bland, like something maybe aran or anyone else might say to him in passing, and at first, it didn’t shake him too much, until he was caught one day under a sudden summer storm. seventeen year old kita somehow found himself stranded beneath a small shelter, where the wooden covering could protect him more than his umbrella until the rain passed. it was nearly unconscious, but he somehow found himself on edge, his breath faltered with the harsh pitter patter of rainfall that tumbled from green leaves and tore ripples from the surface of the lake. shinsuke kita found himself with a stomach full of butterflies and a thundering heartbeat that stole him away from solace and calm, cast the peace that he would so often carry with him away and left him stranded among chopping waves. every trembling breath he took stung on cold air and left him with a burning feeling on his lungs. it’s unfamiliar in its presence and shakes him to his core, but shinsuke kita is reminded of his own humanity when he realizes that what he feels, is anticipation and nervousness.
and it’s an odd thing. as he becomes aware of it, he finds himself twisting his fingers together during spring time; he worries his bottom lip between his teeth during unexpected showers. he feels like a child who stands in line to ride a roller coaster for the first time in his life — wide-eyed and drowning in the millions of feelings that race throughout his body. the feeling itself is nothing new, though it’s unfamiliar and intense in its ferocity and demand, seizes his heart and squeezes so tightly that whenever it rains, he’s left breathless.
it’s almost enough to drive him mad.
his very foundation seems to fall apart with the thunder that rolls across grey skies. for every drop of rain that hits the pavement, he finds himself a jittery mess as his heartbeat tears through his chest. the man who taught himself to abandon his fears reverts into the young boy who watched out for god, for the higher beings who watched his every move. and the thought that comes with every brilliant bolt of lightning burns him just as hotly, invasive and demanding when it flashes through his mind on a single, low whisper:
will you be happy?
shinsuke kita is human. he learns as he sees and lives as he’s learned, and what he saw growing up was that soulmates were bounded together till death do them part. a connection that’s set deep in stone, never to be erased by unforgiving weather and to persevere during the cruelest of storms. it’s an inevitable reality that the gods designed, so that mortals like himself should dance on stage and tell them a story. but shinsuke knows that not all these stories have a happy ending.
there are plays that end in tragedy and loss, those that only knew memories of pain and sang with death’s violin. man becomes the actor to a play that he has no choice in and dances on the puppet master’s strings, he surrenders control and gives himself up to the music, and he has no way of knowing the end of it until the curtains should fall. shinsuke has never been one to lay down his will, and yet, as winter melts once more into gray rain clouds and scattered showers, he’s reminded of his mortality, of the fate that’s been sealed away in the falling of rain. shinsuke kita is human, and so he must, like all men do, bend to fate’s will and never utter a word against her.
and for a long time, the sentiment caused him to completely reject the idea of a soulmate.
that feeling of helplessness that would wash over him with the rain turned into a bitterness that crushed his lungs between tightened fist. the acceptance of an inevitable waltz — whether it be to eternal happiness or to a cruel melody — turned into rebellious loathing that spat in the face of destiny. it’s entirely childish in its tale, like a toddler throwing a tantrum because he doesn’t want to give up his precious toy. that toy is his control, the power he had to live his life by his truth, not by that of a higher being. he’s human, after all, and humans are selfish and resentful by nature.
he finds himself with a heavy chest today, as well, as he waits for the pouring rain to subside. the small shelter in the middle of the garden park is familiar, and carries with it the memories of his epiphany, the one that created thunder storms in his once tranquil heart, and for that, he hates this place. the sound of the rain hitting the roof is like nails scratching against the chalkboard; the sound of droplets hitting the lake like an annoying whining that he can’t get out of his head. shinsuke curses this little pocket away from the world with all the childish anger in the world — let it be damned that doing so wouldn’t change anything. for once, he let himself go on a petty grudge against the universe, and against that looming stage and its heavy curtains.
it’s nearly faint, but he picks up on the patter-patter of footfalls that quickly approach him, and he turns bronze coloured eyes to find your rain-drenched figure running for shelter under the little gazebo. you’re out of breath by the time you make it underneath, letting out an exhausted and frustrated sigh as you press your hands to your knees, and shinsuke finds himself sympathizing with the way you bitterly push your hair from your face. you’re an ordinary office worker, from what he can see; you’ve hidden what looks to be a messenger back beneath your coat, leaving you to tremble in a thin button-up. this day’s downpour had been sudden, unexpected as spring would soon surrender to the approaching summer, and he imagines that he would have been in a similar position as yourself had he not packed his umbrella beforehand.
a silence settles over the both of you that’s only broken by the heavy rain, but the presence of it is so soothing that shinsuke finds himself breathing on a lighter air. suddenly the smell of petrichor turns sweeter, the melody of raindrops melting into a distant lullaby, and for the first time, shinsuke feels his heart melt under an indescribable sense of warmth despite the weather. and when your eyes turn to find his, a helpless grin on your lips, he feels that warmth explode under summer fireworks and coarse throhgh his veins like liquid lightning.
“it’s raining a lot today, isn’t it?”
for the second time in his life, shinsuke has an epiphany under the shelter in the garden.
he feels every bit of resentment vanish on a sudden gust of wind, one that sends raindrops splashing against his skin, but he doesn’t seem to notice. not when grey clouds suddenly reveal to him pillars of sunlight that embrace your figure and makes you glow against a background of green leaves. the rain turns into something sweet and enticing, and it suddenly gives shinsuke this unexplainable urge to grab your hand and dance with you underneath the pouring showers, where he can hear your voice ring out on chimes of laughter and innocent bliss. in mere seconds, he manages to let go of the dark clouds that he’d unintentionally harboured on his chest, he let them burst with the weight of anger and childish fury so that they would hit the earth on giant droplets of rain.
shinsuke kita is human — he’s imperfect, mortal. he feels and he thinks and he speaks what’s on his mind. he can hate, and he can love: he can make that decision on whether or not to hold useless grudges and to curse a destiny he can’t change, or to welcome that inevitability with the willingness to learn and grow.
today, as he stands beneath a wooden shelter, hiding from the heavy rains, he decides to stretch his hand out and let the water hit his skin.

Fly | Route Selected: S. Daichi
a/n: thank you all for being so patient with me. finally, here is the long awaited daichi route. hope you all enjoy!
genre: mafia au
warnings: blood, reader getting hurt, guns, violence
word count: 2.3k
Fly Masterlist
“I choose you”
Your eyes locked with daichi
And daichi stared into yours trying to figure you out
“Are you sure?”
You nodded your head and held your ground
“Im sure”
He felt his eyes soften for a moment at the determination in your eyes before hardening again
“Fine. Everyone else, go home. Youre with me then. Lets go”
Daichi called for a car and drove you home
The silence between the two of you was only filled with the soft sound of a piano playing on the radio
The ride was finally over after about twenty minutes
“I’ll come get you tomorrow morning. Youll be working as an intern now so dress accordingly”
With that he left and you felt like you could breathe again
Just what had you gotten yourself into?
As he said he was at your house in the morning in a car that looked just a tad too expensive
You gulped before taking your first step towards him
“Good morning, Daichi”
He just nodded at you as you got into the car
The drive was once again silent
You looked over at the man behind the wheel and noticed how...formal he looked
Suit, straight back, both hands on the wheel
You felt yourself naturally adjusting yourself to mirror his mannerisms
He stole some glances at you without you noticing and felt his eyes soften upon seeing how nervous you looked
As soon as you stepped into the building you could feel the professional atmosphere
The endless windows and white walls gave off a chilling feeling
You only came back to reality when Daichi gently nudged your back
“I dont have all day. Hurry up and move”
The harshness of his words were the opposite of his touch but they still hurt nonetheless
You nodded your head and kept walking, trying to keep up with his quick stride
You followed him into an office as he took a seat behind the wooden desk
“This will be brief so don’t feel the need to sit”
Your eyes followed his every move as he organized his desk that was already pretty organized with stacks of papers
Daichi went on about your duties here but you honestly werent listening
You were a bit overwhelmed from the unfamiliar building you were in that you forgot about the man in front of you
Up until your eyes landed on the nameplate that sat on his desk
Sawamura Daichi, CEO
Without even knowing it, your eyebrows furrowed in confusion
Just who did you get yourself involved with?
Daichi finally noticed that his conversation with you wasnt going anywhere
“Hey. Are you even listening to me?”
You snapped out of it and shook your head
“Im listening!”
He just sighed and repeated everything he just said again
“Whatever. Just listen because this will be the last time i say this. Youll be working here at Sawamura Inc from now on as an intern. Your fellow interns are Hinata and Kageyama so feel free to ask them questions if you have any. You can leave now. I’ll come get you at the end of the day”
You nodded your head and started your day
Kageyama helped you the most in learning the ropes, you didnt see much of hinata. it was almost as if he was avoiding you
“Ok...so these files go here?”
He nodded his head
“Yeah i think you got it down now. If you need me ill be organizing some things for suga”
The rest of the day went on slowly until finally seven oclock hit
You could hear the faint sound of footsteps approaching you
“Lets go”
Daichi wasted no time in leaving
You quickly put down the rest of the papers you needed to organize and followed him out
The next couple weeks were like clockwork
Almost exactly the same as the day before
And no matter how hard you tried to get to know the man who took you to and from work he wouldnt budge
The only thing you ever got out of him were short replies and head nods
Did he really not like you that much?
But something you noticed every morning and every evening was the light sound of a piano playing from the radio
“Do you like the piano daichi?”
You werent even sure youd get an answer out of him
But he must if he listened to it everyday
You saw his hands lightly grip the steering wheel tighter before loosening, a ghost of a smile appearing on his lips
Your eyes widened when you saw it
In your two weeks together...youd never seen him give a look like this
Like he...enjoyed life
Like he was happy
“Yeah...its okay”
But just as fast as it appeared on his face, it quickly disappeared
Who knew that the stoic man next to you could make expressions like that
Almost made your heart race
“Do you play?”
Silence fell upon the both of you before you heard him let out a sigh
“No”
And now we’re back to stage one when you finally though you were getting more than one word answers
What could you do to make him see you?
This question played in your head as you filed away some papers for Asahi with Hinata
It was the first time youd done something with him but from what youve seen kageyama just calls him an idiot all the time and hits him
Also from what youve heard hinatas been with the sawamuras for a while so maybe he has some insight
“Hey hinata, can i ask you a question?”
He kept quiet so you took that as permission
“Do you know why daichi likes listening to the piano so much?”
That caused him to stop
“If he hasnt told you then dont ask me”
Youd be lying if you said that didnt make you more intrigued so naturally you did some digging
And eventually you stumbled upon an article from no more than five years ago
It told the tale of a young piano prodigy that had chosen to study music at the university of music and performing arts in vienna
And that piano prodigy was the now the distant leader of the Karasuno Mafia
You wonder what happened to him, what the story was behind his change in career path
The next day you decided that if you wanted to learn more about him then asking the questions would help
“Good afternoon daichi!”
You smiled at him as you delivered some paperwork to him
“Morning…”
You set the small stack down on his desk in front of him
“These are the papers for the closing on the Inarizaki deal”
He picked them up and quickly skimmed it
“Okay, thank you. You may go now”
When you didnt move he looked back up
“Do you have something else for me?”
He saw the way you fidgeted with the tips of your fingers and his eyes softened for just a moment
“Would you like to have lunch with me?”
He knew that he should say no
That he shouldnt let you in
“Sure”
How harmful could one lunch possibly be
Little did daichi know he was about to be interrogated
“--no i dont know who my favorite superhero is”
This was probably the tenth question youve asked and he wished you would stop
But he didnt know how to tell you no
Not when you were asking genuine questions
He thought it was kind of nice to be talking to someone normal again
Not someone who was involved with the mafia
But someone who was just...ordinary
“Ok ok..one last question”
He smiled softly
You felt your breath hitch after him showing you that gentle smile
“Go ahead”
The way you talked to him with no filter was refreshing
So he wasnt expecting the next question really at all
“I came across an article the other day about this boy who loved playing the piano,”
Daichis heart almost stopped
“Why did you stop playing daichi?”
‘Because my father made me’
He clenched his fist, crumpling the napkin inside of it
“I just got bored of it”
His reply came out through gritted teeth and you knew he was lying
You gently laid your hand on top of his until you felt it relaxing under you
“Well, no matter the reason, I hope that someday ill be lucky enough to hear you play”
His heart melted
The thought of playing again is something hes always wanted
But his father wouldnt let him
And left a permanent reminder on him about it
“That probably wont ever happen so dont get your hopes up. Let’s get back to the office, lunch is over”
And just like that he was back to being cold towards you just when you thought you were making progress
A couple weeks go by and it seems like daichis pushed you out of his life all over again
So much so that suga was the one giving you assignments from daichi where daichi used to just tell you himself
“Hey, hinata, kageyama and y/n! Daichi wants you guys to go make some copies from the store around the corner. Printer is jammed here and we need to get those documents ASAP”
You all nodded your heads and headed out
You were really too caught up in your own thoughts to be thinking about your surroundings
Had you really crossed a line that day?
You just wanted to figure out the real daichi
Because to you, the real daichi had his walls up 24/7 but behind those walls was a gentle smile and just a guy who wanted nothing more than to just live a normal life
So you didnt notice when hinata and kageyama stopped causing you to run into their backs
“Why did you guys-”
Hinata held a protective arm out in front of you
“What are you doing here, mad dog?”
The boy you assumed was ‘mad dog’ pushed himself off of wall he was leaning against
“Boss wanted me to fetch something”
His eyes locked onto your form
“And im here to collect”
This sent chills down your back
What was he going to do for you?
Who was his boss?
Your mind was running a mile a minute
“y/n you need to run”
Hinata’s voice brought you back to reality
“What?”
Hinata’s eyes never left the man in front of him
“Kageyama and i will take care of him. You need to get back to the office. Now!”
You sprinted as soon as hinata yelled for you to leave
‘Theyll be alright, right? They handle stuff like this all the time’
But you came to an abrupt halt at the sound of a gun going off
‘Fuck my life’
You turned back around help in any way you could
Only to come upon an unconscious kageyama and bleeding hinata
“You fucking idiot! Whyd you come back?!”
Meanwhile mad dog approached you and placed his hand under your chin
“You just made my job a whole lot easier”
Before you could even scream a piece of cloth was placed over your mouth and your vision went black
“Give your boss a message for me, carrot top. Tell him that if he wants his intern back he has to come get them himself”
Hinata gritted his teeth before passing out himself
Suga found them not too long after that
And after hinata told daichi what had happened...he was livid
He was supposed to protect you
To make sure that you stayed safe
And he was too weak to do it
Too afraid of what his father would have done if he found out that he was fond of a random person they picked up from the streets that had no ties to them
Afraid of what his father would have done to you
He clenched his jaw and let out a grunt as he punched the wall next to him
But fuck that
He knew that in this moment he needed to get you back right now
The thought of you being injured due to his own incompetence scared him more than what his father might ever do to him
So he was off
“When will they wake up?”
“Theyve been out forever”
“Dude its only been like three hours of course theyre still out”
The voices around you became clear as you regained consciousness
“Oh~ looks like theyre finally awake”
“Yeah probably because you wouldnt shut up”
Standing in front of you was a group of men you had only seen in brief pictures from the reports you made for daichi
‘Seijoh’
From what you remember their boss is a major flirt and his right hand man keeps him humble
Mad dog was sitting off in the corner next to a brown haired man who just kept staring at you…’creepy’
You flinched as the one you recognized as their boss reached a hand out towards you
“Aww dont be scared! I promise i wont hurt you”
He bent down to your level with a hand on your shoulder and leaned in to the point that his breath tickled your ear
“Though im not too sure that some of the others here wont. So be good for me, okay y/n?”
You were scared out of your mind
But you were not going to let this guy get into your head
So you did what any reasonable person would do
You pulled your head back and headbutted him in the forehead
He stumbled back a bit
“Stay the fuck away from me”
Oikawa held his head and gave you a nasty glare
“Iwa take care of them”
Everyone filed out till it was just you and the spiky hair man in front of you
“Nothing against you, just doing what the boss said. Plus you could have just laid low but you had to provoke him”
Daichi wasted no time in getting to seijohs building
And as soon as oikawa heard he was in the building he sent for him
“Welcome daichi! What an unexpected surprise!”
Daichi always hated the sound of oikawas jovial voice
How fake it sounded
“Just give me y/n back”
Oikawa just shook his head
“Never were a fan of small talk were you daichi? Okay, since youre just dying to see them ill bring them in now”
Daichi turned around and reeled at what he saw
Bruised and battered as you were set down onto the ground
“You fucking bastard”
Daichi clenched his jaw
He was at a loss of words for the sight in front of him
But he knew he had to get you out of here
So he scooped you up into his arms and headed for the door
But before leaving he stopped and spoke into his earpiece
“Get them”
And with that he left as a war ensued between the two gangs
Beep beep
The sound of your heart monitor brought you back to the land of the living
And next to you was a passed out daichi
You slowly felt around your bed before hitting the call button for your nurse
And as soon as you did daichi jumped up from his seat at the sound of footsteps approaching
You reached out and put your hand on his to get his attention and smiled at him
He sat back down and let the nurses tend to you, his gaze never leaving your body
“You should be able to leave within the next day or two. Rest up mx. l/n”
The nurse then left your room and left the two of you alone
You locked eyes with him before looking down at his hand and seeing how discolored it was
He noticed your eyes widen and tried to hide his hand once he realized what you were looking at
“Daichi! You need to take better care of yourself!”
You sat up from your bed and called a nurse to get a basic first aid kit
“Im fine y/n. You need to rest”
“Like hell youre fine! Daichi your hand is hurt. Please just let me fix it for you”
But before you could apply the bandages you hand your hand in his
“It cant be fixed y/n. This hand doesnt feel anything”
You looked up at him with confused eyes
“Its the reason i dont play anymore. My father crushed it a few years back so i wouldnt even think about playing. Said it was time i stopped playing with useless things”
The grip on your hand tightened a bit before slowly loosening
But you just gently squeezed it
“Well, even if your hand is ‘useless’ id still feel better if youd let me wrap it. Your hand is still a part of you and it can still bring so much joy into your life as well as those around you. You just have to have the courage to seize what you want.”
‘The courage to seize what I want’
Your words played out in his head over and over again
He made a promise to himself that day
That one day, you two would be happily together
No matter how hard this path may be
He was going to seize his happiness

Let’s Talk About Hawaii: Part ii
ok so for those who don't know, hawaii: part ii is an album by Miracle Musical, a side project from some members of Tally Hall. the album has 11 tracks, which come together to form a story.
if you would like an in depth analysis of the story i will make a post on it later. the basis is of a man who sails to hawaii and falls in love, though his love intrest dies and he is accused,he goes to shock therapy, and when he leaves he tries to go home but dies.
( again, ive left many details out bc im only using the main plot points for this post.)
the music genre is very strange and unfamiliar to most people. the miracle musical wiki fandom describes it as "genre of infinity, which is expressed through hologram."
in many of the songs, people have described the vocals to be "like a choir" and "having many background whispers"
the most visible song in the album to have these whispers and choir like vocals,is the song The Mind Electric, it is the 7th track, and also the most popular track.
the main writer for most of these songs, and the person we should credit for the creative vocals is Joe Hawley (31) member of Tally Hall.
unfortunately, there is no official story-line for the album, so most of the "stories" found in comment sections of the album are merely theories.
none of these theories have ever been confirmed, for the creators wanted the story to be interpreted as how each individual person saw it, to allow for the listeners personal creativity to shine through using this album as a vessel.
the album was officially released in December 12, 2012. the album started being worked on in 2011, right after the hiatus of tally hall.
a couple of the songs in the album, such as The Mind Electric and Dream Sweet In Sea Major, were polished demos that joe hawley had, some dating back to 2005.others, like Murders and Time Machine, were created specifically for this project.
the longest song on the album is Dream Sweet In Sea Major, coming in at a solid 7:00 minutes, while the shortest song is Introduction To The Snow, being only 1:41 minutes. some people think this was planned, as DSISM is the last song of the album, and ITTS is the first song.
Variations On A Cloud is a preorder bonus for the album, it was released earlier than the album. though it isnt officially a part of the album, many fans or Hawaii: part ii like to say that it is and that this is the un-official first track. the track itself, doesnt fit into a specific part of the story, but it more accurately depicts the story as a whole, creating a distinct vibe from the rest of the album, while also having a strange connection to it.
all in all, the album is great, and it seems to not be extrmely popular despite it being such a unique sound, although i think that may be exactly the reason for it's unpopularity.

Is it still open bc if so here’s mine UwU 5. luftmensch thanks and congrats on 600 and there’ll be more to come im sure~^^
dazai + luftmensch || לופֿטמענטש (yiddish, n.) literally “air person”; someone whose head is in the clouds; an impractical, unrealistic dreamer.
➽─{ahhhh thank u liz!!! i’ve always associated this word with fun but i wanted to play with the direction teehee,,}─❥
warning(s): this is not a fairytale.
As much as you loved your boyfriend, you had ample reason to worry about your future together. Try as you might, you couldn’t overlook his innumerable faults, faults that grew more and more glaringly obvious with the lapse of time. In the grand scheme of things he was not only a heavy drinker, but also unmotivated, hobbyless, and jobless. In fact, today he was quite literally celebrating the one year anniversary of his unemployment─a cause of joy for him, but a cause of concern to you.
You took to the sea together that afternoon, viewing it in all its glory from the safety of a cable-stayed bridge. He hummed a happy little tune having just picked up all his favorite foods from the grocery store. You buzzed at a similar wavelength, sharing in his musical delight. Together, the two of you stood in unspoken harmony, content with just watching the fishermen and ferries as they passed by. That is, up until that one nagging thought crept into your mind and out of your mouth.
“So how’s the job hunt going?” you asked, pretending to turn your focus towards the glistening of the coastal waters before you, perhaps entranced by its vastness or its blueness. To Dazai, however, your attempt at casual conversation held about as much subtlety as a sledgehammer.
“Don’t you worry your pretty little head about me,” he said, eyes following your own to nowhere in particular. “You can think about it like this: the more time I spend out of work, the more time I can spend with you!” Your boyfriend wrapped one arm around you with marked swiftness, his other hand holding tight to a can of celebratory crab meat. You sighed into his trench coat, tugging on the tan fabric.
“It’s hard not to worry,” you mumbled, closing your eyes as you nuzzled into him. “You know things can’t stay like this forever.”
You stiffened at the sound of your own voice. As the words slipped from your mouth, you almost wanted to side with him; you would love Dazai’s attention all to yourself, maybe even at the cost of his livelihood. You wanted his every regard to concern you and only you as he sank into your body, warmth combining with yours. You wanted to be his one object of importance as he reached for his grocery bags, lifting plastic-encased bottles of sake to eye level. For the briefest of moments you felt like you could make a home out of his embrace alone, but the sounds of clinking glass snapped you back to reality.
“Hey! Don’t you dare.” Your hand moved instinctively, making a beeline for the liquor. “You said you’d wait until we returned ho─”
Looking your boyfriend dead-on for the first time, you noticed a small child materialize from his other side; he’d lifted his liquids out of their way, and now you were poised as if to grab them. There was a small silence as the youngster took a frozen, bewildered look at you both, as if caught in the tangible strain betwixt lovers at odds. With their hasty departure came with an awkward rumble from Dazai’s chest.
“Bella. Why so tense?” Dazai’s short-lived chuckle surrounded you with both the reverberations of his torso and the shellfish on his breath. Yet as composed as he pretended to be, his efforts were rendered useless by the beating of his heart pressed up against you, its rapid rhythm telling you a story of an unfamiliar nervousness.
On the Skywalk footpath beneath the Yokohama Bay Bridge, leaning against the railing and towards the Pacific Ocean, you realized something. You realized it as Dazai droned on, trying to explain himself in a manner that might soothe you. You realized it as he attempted to reel you back in the same as he’d done many a time before, always the moment before you got too close to the truth. His words cut in and out as you pondered your shared apprehension. You could explain your own unease, but where was his coming from..?
“...and I have connections, darling,” Dazai said as your attention returned, rapid heartbeat betraying his calm tone. “I’ll have something lined up for myself, just you wait. You have absolutely nothing to worry about.” He gave you a swift peck on the cheek, leaning back as quickly as he leaned in. And suddenly, it clicked. The warmth in your body drained at the revelation.
Because you realized that, as much as you wanted, needed his proximity, he didn’t care much for yours.
“Connections?” As far as you could tell, Dazai’s closest relationships involved you, your landlord, and the bartenders on the weeknight shift. You cringed at that word now. 'Close.' You didn’t dare pry any further as his arm snaked away from its half-hearted hold. What are you hiding from me? you asked silently, the words never quite leaving your lips. But he could sense it in your solemn stare and he backed away in turn, leaving you to bear the brunt of a gentle sea breeze turned brutal and biting.
Dazai wasn’t the foolish daydreamer he posed as, the halfwitted airhead he always pretended to be. He had secrets to keep about his past and secrets to keep about his future. Hot needles prickled your sides, the flush of embarrassment rising to your cheeks as he averted his eyes from your gaze. For just how long have you held me at a distance?
“I’ll explain it to you someday,” he offered lamely, as if to brush off your every inquiry, voiced and unvoiced. In an ideal world, he would be looking you straight in the eye. In an ideal world, ‘someday’ would be today. But Dazai hadn’t the mind to let you in─certainly not now, and perhaps never.
“Just not today,” he said, as if to answer the most private of your thoughts. He would always see right through you, but in regards to understanding him, you would only ever scratch the surface.

A/N: After literally forever im back. I’m really excited about this story and maybe it’s starting to make some type of sense? I haven’t figured out the name thing yet butttt I’m sure I’m keeping the first person narrative. Let me know what you think
Warnings: Angst?, language, mentions of amnesia.
I was starting to wake up, and as soon as I took a deep breath, I knew something was missing. I didn't know what but it felt like a void.
I opened my eyes and saw white curtains hiding a bright sky.
Wait a second... where am I?
This wasn't my room, in fact, I didn't remember what my room was like, but this wasn't it.
Drowned on my thoughts, I slowly started realizing that my room wasn't the only thing I couldn't remember. My house, my family, my friends, myself, I couldn't even remember my name. I could barely notice that what I was wearing wasn't mine, merely because the t-shirt with "Pink Floyd" written on it was at least three sizes bigger.
It would be an understatement to say I was freaked out. I started breathing heavily and my eyes started getting watery, it felt like my head was soon going to implode from how fast my train of thought was going, it almost made me feel dizzy.
Before I could panic any longer, someone opened the door. A guy, with the bluest of eyes i’ve ever seen, probably due to my state. If I would have been in another situation, I probably would have... well, I don't know. I didn't remember what I would have done.
"So, sleeping beauty is awake. How was your nap, princess?" The guy said closing the door and coming closer to me.
Out of fear i hugged my legs to my chest sliding away from him "Who are you?" I asked, feeling how my voice cracked. Even my voice felt unfamiliar.
He seemed to have taken the hint and stayed right where he was standing. "Well, that's what I'm asking you". I could see the muscles of his arms tense while he crossed them.
"What do you mean? This is your house isn't it?" The amount of questions I had on my head were making me even more dizzy than before.
" Yeah, house you ran into without invitation last night, only to pass out right after." I was about to tell him I wasn't in a mood for jokes, but I could tell how serious he was, his eyes were darker than they had been seconds ago, and they seemed to be lightly tinted with concern.
"Sorry, I-I did what?"
"So you were that drunk huh?" I, for a second, thought he was as confused as me, but his face was so expressionless, I just couldn't tell.
"What? No... I mean I-I don't know"
"Right... Lets start with easier questions, princess. What's your name." I closed my eyes, I tried to remember as hard as I could but nothing came to my mind. "It's not that hard"
" I'm... i-i... I'm sorry, i can't remember." A single tear rolled down my cheek, while I pronounced those words.
" Shit" i heard him whisper "Do you remember where you live?" I shook my head silently " Do you remember anyone you know?" No, again.
" What's happening to me?" I said so low he almost couldn't hear it.
“Im no expert but i think you have amnesia, let me check your head.” he waited a couple seconds until he was sure i wouldn’t freak out if he came any closer, then he walked to the opposite side of the bed and sat behind me. His hands delicately started parting my hair and pressing softly. Nothing hurt until he got to the lower back of my head, as soon as his fingers touched that area i felt a pulsating pain so strong i had to hold my breath.
He quickly removed his hands apologizing for the pain. “It looks like you took a pretty rough hit here, i think there’s blood too but i’m not sure. I’m gonna bring you some ice, that might help with the pain.”
I heard his steps behind me and soon enough i saw him walk out of the room leaving the door open. When i looked behind me i noticed the pillow had some specs blood on it as well, not enough to get worried but it was still there. Not long after he was back with a pack of ice wrapped around a towel, he handed it to me and i carefully placed it on the wounded area.
I exhaled heavily trying to put all the pieces together. The fact that I didn't know where I was, who this guy was, who I was, and most importantly, where I came from. I believe neither of us knew what to say on a situation like this so we just stayed silent for a couple minutes.
He was the one to break the silence "Look, I gotta go out for a couple hours. You can spend the night here if you want, I don't mind." He started to pick up some stuff from the night table. As almost every other piece of furniture on the room, it was a medium light brown with an old looking vibe.
"Thank you so much, but I don't think it's reasonable to stay in a strangers house." I looked down and started playing with my fingers. For some reason the way he looked at me made me feel really nervous and I was afraid I wouldn't be able to make a coherent sentence with his eyes looking into mine. "I'll get out of here as soon as I can, don't worry."
He stood there for a couple seconds just analyzing me, and then said:
"I'm Billy, I love music and I work at the record store. Lucky for you we are not strangers anymore." He winked at me and then walked out of the room.
I sat there with a racing heart and a racing mind, feeling all types of ways and absolutely nothing at the same time. Nothing made sense, i was confused and scared, and i didn’t know how i was gonna get myself out of this one.
I heard what I thought was the front door closing and I decided to stand up and go look for a bathroom. That didn't take me long because it happened to be inside his room following a walk-in closet, where I found some clothes that I supposed were mine, and if they weren't I was going to wear them anyways.
I walked in, and as soon as I looked at myself in the mirror, I felt shame tinting my cheeks a light pink. My makeup was completely fucked, I had worryingly big under eye bags, and my lips where pail and swollen for some reason.
-------------------------------------------------------
While washing my hair I noticed something interesting. The smell of the shampoo almost made me feel like normal again, it felt like something i’d felt before. I thought it was so ironic I found this stranger's hygiene product more personal and close to me than my own face. I didn't think anything else of it.
Half an hour later, i was putting on a coat that seemed somewhat my size. Billy must have had a girlfriend I didn't know about, a roommate or a sister, I don't know, but I was sure that coat wasn't his. I felt bad taking it without permission, but in my defense it was fall, which I figured because of the browny-orange trees outside of curly guy's window, and that meant it was gonna be windy and cold.
Before getting out of there I looked around. Something made me feel warm about his house, it looked rustic, everything was brown or warm toned, which matched perfectly with the season outside. I wondered if that was intentional.
On my way out I closed the door and spent a solid minute trying to decide if I should go right or left. It wouldn't have mattered anyway, I would have been lost either way, but a small dandelion seed flew right in from of my face, dancing with the wind going east, making the choice for me.
Just when I couldn't see the apartment behind me anymore, I realized how screwed i was, why did i think it was a good idea to walk out of the apartment in the first place? God, i didn't even knew which city I was in. I was starving and had no money to buy anything, or so I thought until I slipped my hand inside the coat to get it a little bit warmer, and I felt a handful of bills there. Lucky for me it was a ten dollar bill and two dollar bills, it wasn’t much but it could save me from starvation.
I started looking around for a place to eat from where I was standing and not far I saw something that seemed like a coffee shop. Without a second thought i walked in that direction feeling my stomach growl every time louder.
The smell of warm bread and coffee that smacked my face as I opened the door was glorious. I closed my eyes and smiled before walking to one of the empty tables and sitting on one of the dark wood tables closer to the window.
I was so distracted looking at the place, I didn't even noticed when one of the girls that worked there walked to my table and started talking to me. "Good morning and welcome to Harvey's, can I help you with your order?" She was looking at me with a bright smile on her face.
"I... umm..." what do people ordered on this type of places? My cheeks started to blush once again. "I want whatever the hell smells so good. What is it?"
" Oh, is a combination of our fresh bread and season special Hot cinnamon chocolate, should I bring you that?" The girl said on a sweet whisper, that made her British accent a little bit more obvious. British accent... did that mean i was in England? But then again Billy didn’t have an accent, which made me even more confused.
"Please" I smiled back, letting myself pick a little on the contagious happiness she expelled
I ran out of things to analyze moments later, so my mind went back to to everything that was wrong with me and my life.
It felt so terrible to be alone, and in the most literal possible way, I was. And then I started thinking if it was all my fault. Was I so bad that all the people and memories decided to run away from me? It sounded so dumb but in that vulnerable moment that’s what it felt like.
It was almost as if there was a void inside me and every thought was making it bigger and wider, which made me feel like if I was standing at the edge, like if at any moment I was gonna fall.
Tears slowly started to run down my cheeks, i almost didn’t notice them until one dropped to my hand placed on top of the table.
"Oh love" I heard the waitress next to me, gently rubbing my shoulder and then sitting in front of me. "Are you ok? Here, take a sip of your chocolate" I did as she told me, and took the napkin she had brought to wipe my eyes dry.
"I'm ok, just a little overwhelmed... that's all"
"Do you want to talk about it? The place doesn’t get busy until 10:30 so i’ve got a couple minutes free."
I really wanted to, so bad, and I couldn’t find a reason not to, why would I care when she was a stranger, just like everybody else? So, I told her everything, from the moment that I opened my eyes a couple hours before, until I walked into that place. And she listened, with that a sad look on her eyes that made them look a little more green “I’m so sorry, you must feel terrible. I wish I could help more, but all I can do right now is help you call Billy ."
“Do you know him?” I asked confused as i wiped my tears once again.
" Of course i know him, he’s pretty well known around here, specially by the girls. Such a pain in the ass but he’s a good guy. You got lucky there, you could’ve picked a creep’s house to break into and that would’ve been an issue.” she chuckled a little in hopes of lifting up the mood a bit.
" I... don't think calling him is such a good idea. Look, he has been very kind to help me and let me stay at his place last night, but for what I hear, he must have other people to welcome there, and I don't want to bother anyone. I’ll crash there tonight and i’ll figure something out tomorrow” i wanted to believe that so bad, maybe if i kept repeating it to myself it would come true
"I’m sorry, did you say he offered his place for tonight?" she said changing the sad expression on her face for an annoyed one. I nodded a little confused. “He did take you to the hospital, didn’t he?”
“No, he seemed really hurried to get out this morning, besides i’m fine, my head is hurting a lot less now.” that didn’t seem to relief her a single bit but before she got to say anything else, her eyes looked right behind me with surprise and I could only imagine who it was.
My heart dropped and unconsciously, I stopped breathing as soon as I heard his voice.
"Speaking of the devil” she said looking right at him, i still didn’t turn around, for some reason i felt he would be angry at me for leaving his place.
"I see you already met my guest, Mikie” he said in a relaxed tone. "I told you to stay at the apartment, you could’ve gotten lost." that was now directed to me, so i turned around to look at him.
Before i could reply, Mikie stood up from her place and said “She was starving dumbass, god knows how long it has been since she last ate something and you didn’t even think of offering her anything?” he didn’t reply, i guess he was as shocked by the situation as i was and the thought hadn’t crossed his mind. “I need a word with you out side” that last part wasn’t a question, Mikie walked through the door and when Billy didn’t move, she yelled “Now Hargrove!”

my home has never felt this far {Roger Taylor}
Summary: im sad have fluffy phone call
A/N: 743 words. im very sad and this is short
----
"Hi Rog," soft voice, a phone call you start at three in the morning, the feel of unfamiliar leather seating in an unfamiliar room. The phone is cool in your hand, and you're trying to hide your bloodshot eyes from the rest of the hotel's lobby. The only other person is the clerk, looking rather uncomfortable and like he's trying to look at anything but you. You pick at the upholstery as Roger answers back, just as soft, quietly concerned. You're pretty sure you woke him up, but he doesn't seem annoyed. Your eyes are already hot from where you'd been crying earlier, but you can feel a fresh wave coming on.
He doesn't ask you why you're crying, though he can hear it through the phone. Her knows you well enough not to push. If you wanted to talk about it, you would, and right now you definitely don't.
Instead, you ask what he's been up to.
He's back in London, between tours, writing music and practically living in the studio. He tells you about his exploits on tours, partying with models, finding out about John's semi-shotgun wedding to Veronica right before the tour started. At that, you manage a watery laugh, and Roger takes pause.
It's been a long time since he'd heard you laugh, even as feebly as this. It's been a long time since he'd seen you in person. That being said, you'd spoken often over the phone, through letters, keeping your friendship strong as its ever been. He's been your best friend, and quiet keeper of your heart for almost as long as you've known him, not that he knew about the latter part. But that wasn't important; you'd never risk your friendship on some romantic flight of fancy. Roger wasn't interested in settling down, and you weren't interested in losing your best friend. But you've never been so grateful for him as you are now.
Tentatively, Roger starts telling you about Freddie's wardrobe malfunction in Florida, if only the hear you laugh again, following it with a story about Brian getting so drunk he started crying about hedgehogs. The sound of your laughter, no matter how weak, eased his heart.
After his second round of stories run dry, there's a lull, a pause, and he's not quite sure where to go. Both of you are quiet.
"Are you okay?" He asks finally, unable to help himself. Your lip quivers, and the tears you'd been managing to stave off come flooding forward.
"No," you admit, finally breaking, hunching in on yourself, "everything's fucked, everything's so fucked and I can't sleep and I -"
"Where are you?" He asks quickly, and you can hear him rummaging around his sheets, struggling to his feet.
"No, no Roger, it's fine -" he doesn't quite believe you for your sobs, but the rummaging stops.
"Dear," he says it pointedly, and you sniff roughly, rubbing angrily at your eyes, "where are you? I'll be there-"
"Its three in the morning," you try, but he counters with concern.
"So?"
"So... I just... tomorrow." You sniffle, trying to get your emotions in order, "I'll be okay tonight, I promise, I just," and you swallowed hard, "I just needed to hear your voice."
A pause. He murmurs your name like a prayer, a soft sigh, and your heart tightens in your chest.
"Can you tell me it's going to be okay?" You whispered.
"Of course its going to be okay," he assured without missing a beat, "I promise you're going to be okay."
"You mean it?"
"Absolutely." Silence follow, just for a moment, before he adds, "I wish I could be there. I wish I could give you a hug." There's tears stinging your eyes again.
"I miss you, Rog, I miss you so much," you sniffle, and he makes a gentle, fond sound.
"I miss you too, dear," he tells you sincerely, "are you sure you don't want me to come over?"
"Tomorrow," you reiterate, "hug tomorrow, please."
"Hug tomorrow," Roger confirms sincerely, "I look forward to it." He paused and added, "are you sure you're going to be okay tonight?"
"I promise; I have seeing you to look forward to," you give a soft, weak laugh, and Roger gives a fond hum.
"Alright, I look forward to seeing you too; I love you." And at his familiar words, something in your chest eased, let yourself breath for a moment.
"Love you too, Rog."
