im not planning into like, starting a comic or anything, but heres the au lore:

amaya's ally w luna and the other pjs didnt know, amaya and luna set up a plan to make amaya move out of town: during a battle they set an explosive made to hurt amaya's eye (thats why she has that visor thing) and the next day her parents dont want her to hung out with connor and greg so they move out of town

time passes and luna conquers tabariscoville, amaya's secretly hanging out w her, motsuki has now a more human form, night ninja is nowhere to be seen and romeo's dead from rabies (it didnt kill him but luna had to "put him down" or the rabies would have done that first)

and while luna was fighting w the remaining 2 pjms amaya reveals herself and uhhh i need to think what else could happen

See here. BSD is a story about how all of our characters were once children. How the scars and wounds and secrets of their past will always haunt them to the present. We see it with Chuuya, Yosano, Ranpo, even Odasaku briefly, Atsushi, Tachihara, Akutagawa, Kyouka and Kenji right now, even Kouyou just a little bit. They've all overcome it or they've allowed it to consume them. And yet that brief glimpse into a past where they were young and scarred shows us once again just how human they are...every criminal, ever person, was once a child wounded by or protected from the world and doesn't that count for something even if it doesn't excuse the atrocities they commit today?

Wanted to practice character design which somehow lead me to this

many crosscode cats, i'm tempted to do more (interested in at least doing Carla and Hlin) but I'll see what happens

Some design guidelines I made up for fun:

The different classes are all assigned to one breed, though its more like a base than a strict guideline. Out of game they could be other cat breeds but in game they're always the breed of the class.

Avatars always have the shape of their class somewhere on their pelt

Because Spheromancers are supposed to look chimera adjacent, a cats pelt should look plausibly like a single one and not a mish mash

all the other cats ears have to be smaller than leas (very important)

So I read/watched tgcf and became obsessed. Finally got around to reading MDZS for the first time and here's some lil thoughts (rn I'm like abt a third of the way thru)

- I love how there will be some insane tool/torture device/technique that's super powerful and wwx will just casually mention that he invented it it's so funny. like ok prince of darkness we get it ur evil and edgy and a genius

- JINGYI!!!!! I LOVE U BABIE!!! ALSO SIZHUI!!! KIDDOS!

- idk why but I love that it's called the sun shot campaign. It sounds so much cooler than like "wen extermination" or whatever. Also I hope to learn even more abt it.

- actually all of the juniors I love (even u jinling, lil shit <3)

- im so curious abt the whole jc and wwx history bit. I know they're brothers and have some history via fandom osmosis but I'm so ready to get the full story. I love angsty siblings

- the porn book pfft (lwj really went "BLASPHEMY!! GET THIS VILE FILTH AWAY FROM ME!!" lol)

- love how lwj acts annoyed w the rabbit gift but the first chapter set back in the present timeline it's someone commenting on how he has a bunch of pet rabbits awwwww

- omg WHAT was the yi city arc during the empathy section my jaw was dropped the whole time xxc you fucking sweetheart you didn't deserve that. A qing is THE girl ever omg. Also I'm convinced xue yang is not dead he is ALIVE and coming back to haunt everyone. Also WHY tf are they shipped together??

- I find it so funny how when lwj got drunk for the second time wwx kissed him briefly and then he felt so guilty he slept on the floor lmaooo that's so sweet

- currently in the middle of the whole wwx empathy w nmj and getting more background on the venerated triad and the dynamics. the drama is SO juicy

- also I can't help but notice a lot of similarities between tgcf and mdzs. Protagonist w a bad reputation among his peers, the flashbacks throughout the story, the three tumors and venerated triad kinda similar, etc. kinda fun

*i actually watched the donghua a while ago so I had a little prior knowledge but it went WAY over my head and I was NOT in the mood to read another giant series yet*

Hm. By ulterior you likely mean sinister, and in that regard, no. She is a "good" character. There will actually be an intermission sometime after this arc ends in a few chapters that will detail what happened during my disgusting time skip, where you might gain more insight.

But neutrally, yes!! The meeting scene means a lot to me because of everything that's clashing unspoken, a lot of decisions being weighed. So she does have a motive, the core of her character and many conflicts to come, that was the main reason she played nice. But she warms up to them as "people", though, and becomes a genuine friend as well, which is where she's at by the time the time skip is over. This isn't as rushed as it seems, they will get a lot of interactions together very soon for you to parse through. With it being so early, I'm not keen on plot dumping just yet, so I'm unsure of when said Intermission will release. But they will all get insight into their backstories that's not absolutely necessary for the main plot but as more of an added bonus

Hello! For totally innocent-not doodling-related-at-all reasons, I was wondering what's the height of the other non-friends/LI characters, like Duncan and Keres, and the Hunter's mentors. Or approximate heights, if you know/have defined then in your head.

so this is kinda hard to answer hahahaha i do typically envision Jorah as taller than the hunter, however i also know there are some people who have their hunter standing at 7ft tall so theyre taller than Lea and that would just be silly

so for simplicity's sake i'll say Jorah is about 6'5" and Rodrick is a bit shorter at 5'9"

Keres i'll put at about the same height as Noel, so around 5'7"

Duncan is actually the shortest of the older cast, at 5'6"

Harper is around 5'9" (he's really lanky) and Talia is around 5'2"
