It's here! First, sorry for the long wait. Chapter 2 has proven to be a behemoth, and I'd gotten sick this past week, my computer broke, my documents went kaput and I had to do some Frankensteining for the last few pages of this part. I'm not too worried, as Part II update can help smooth out all the kinks. I will definitely be looking for beta testers once chapter 2 is complete ha

Anywho! Enough about my problems. This demo update adds 86k words (86, 818 to be exact) and is the first part of a two part chapter. Which means the narrative in this chapter is not complete, but I kind of closed it off at a pretty satisfying place. As with every Infamous chapter, this is very character driven. So have fun!

What to expect in Chapter Two PART I:

get on the bus & deal with the consequences of your actions lol

arrive to your first tour stop and do your first gig...which might get messy (both literally and figuratively)

this chapter has a lot of flavor text, or at least, more than the demo did, so if there are any errors or if there are lines that don't correspond with your choices, please let me know so i can fix that!

you will no longer be forced to write your own lyrics and the update will offer you pre-written lyrics by yours truly. im not t swift so i would advise you not to expect professional level songwriting, but they work well enough lolol

Can choose to be asexual and any sexual scenes will be skipped or replaced with romantic scenes. Flavor text in which MC displays any sort of sexual desire will be skipped. (This option comes up during Dakota's party scene. If not, it will show up when it presents itself again.) (Nothing sexual has come up yet, but if there are any scenes or even lines/ internal thoughts that should be skipped or changed for Asexual MCs, please let me know!)

after valentino, i can see angel only really taking interest in people who he’s known for a long time/has a strong bond with — so considering the fact that he’s most likely known you for a long time, this is probably when he’s gonna be more affectionate — possible cuddles, kisses, etc

but even with that, angel really considers first dates as a ‘get to know you’ sorta thing, so he wants to hear all about you, and share stories with you about him as well! you two will probably play games like 21 questions or truth or dare but with mostly truths 😭🙏

honestly, angel will probably spend more time telling you about molly (his sister) then himself, he misses her a lot, and she was one of the biggest parts of him and he loves telling you stories about them together in their lifetime

As you two wait for the cookies to bake, he finds himself drawn to your side, appreciating the simple pleasure of being in your company. You two exchange stories of your week. Laugh and playful pushes followed along.

What if this is what he is meant for? Maybe life isn't so bad for a man like him. Not with you, at least.

Finally, the timer dinged, signalling the cookies were done. As you pull the tray out of the oven, he finds himself dreaming of more. Maybe next time around, when all is peaceful, there will be a kid, maybe two eagerly waiting for a taste of a new family recipe.

"These are incredible," König declares as he takes another bite and savours the sweetness with his tongue.

You beam with pride, your cheeks flush with pleasure from this compliment. "I'm glad you think so. There's plenty more where that came from," your voice softer now.

As you two indulge in this impromptu midnight snack, König can't shake the feeling of contentment that settles over him. In this moment, surrounded by warmth and love, he knows that there is nowhere else in the world he rather be.

let's start at the top, flanderization. it was real bad this season. though it effected rachel the worse.

Season 1 Rachel is a well meaning leftist test player who wants to ask out the girl she likes but is too nervous.

Season 2 Rachel is a well meaning leftist test player who wants to ask out the girl she likes but is too nervous, but then does it anyway awwwwwww. Then she and her partner end up working directly with Poppy and Ian each.

season 3 Rachel is a well meaning leftist... who doesn't have a job, ends up being given one cuz she's magically good at monetization now.

season 4 Rachel argues before congress for child labor.

the fuck happened here. how does one go from awww shy leftist wants to ask out her crush, to child labor? well you start with a character who only existed to be in a relationship and you have her keep existing afterwards. the writers didn't know what to do with dana and Rachel, so they made Dana an over-righteous dumbass and rachel fucking this.

it sucks, it's bad, it's not the only flanderization this season. brad, who before this points biggest manipulative move was *checks notes* buying a mug that said 'battle royal' on it,

tries to burn down his house

breaks into people's cars and moves stuff around to "take away there sense of safety"

almost embezzles from the company stopping only at the last second.

I like Brad being evil but this just isn't in character. His motivation over the whole season has been muddy and unclear. though this does lead us right into

There are no consequences for anything. Rachel argues for child labor In Front of congress, she's a bit bummed for a couple days. carol fucks the testers, she had a dream. Brad pretends to be David's friend for 6 months, literally nothing. theres no stakes, i dont buy that naything bad can happen cuz theres ni fucking consequences.

no follow through

Dana is shown up by a younger coder so she... hmm, uh she.. makes a new game, but then that turns into brads plot and she gets fired and he... doesn't? She says she's her generations best coder cuz she made a roblox game, and then in the finale she is working at mythic quest again.

Besides the proposal (which was more about Rachel anyway) this is all Dana does this season.

brad he uh, is hunting himself? maybe? first couple eps i guess. he meets his ex they fuck. hmm, he tries to scam david but gets caught in a pretty good ep. but then like its just fine again afterwards. then finale he's head of monetization again? somehow? and like he just throws away the thumb drive and it means??? i guess he chose mythic quest over anna, but like why? Is he still working for dana? Are both him and Rachel head of monetization? did she actually get fired and they just needed to shove more carol plot in there so they cut it out. ??????????????????????????????????????????

david, i dont even fucking know man. he wants friends, he makes them, there both conservative and progressive. like there really into the long hair and stuff idk. he has the whole beach ep, the joke of oh it sounds like he's asking ian out. really what has he done this season i can't think of a thing.

jo, she had like the start of an arc, like looking for a purpose. only to conclude her purpose is being an assistant. and now she has this job and like.... why? why'd they give it to her? why didn't they actually show us her doing... anything? She had the beginning and the end of an arc but no actual arc part.

disjointed storylines

In the finale the a and b plot never once interact. throughout there's this issue of there's the grimpop storyline and then there's the rest. everything else is secondary to these 2 characters. It kinda feels like you took 2 different shows, mythic quest the workplace comedy with an ensemble cast and a slow burn romance dramedie and just smashed 'em together. it just doesn't fit, Ian and poppy dont fit.

God, what was that and why did we spend so much time on it?

idk if i'm reading too much into it but like, having a black woman fantasize and dream about doming 2 white men and making them kiss... idk it feels racist. like that + the guy in the finale saying dana had a mean face, which like her whole thing originally was that she was chill (right im remembering that correctly. That was her thing) idk carol and dana definitely played a lot more into the stereotype of mean black women this season.

where to start

before this season poppy was a virgin, she was a fucked up little goblin who ate from the trash and couldnt hold down a friendshipoutside of mythic quest nonetheless a relationships. Now she's... really good at sex and can handle a fling.

couldn't handle condoms through cuzs she's pregnant. and... she keeps it. why. like genuinely why would she keep it, poppy doesn't like kids, she's focused on her job, she's not even dating storm. she has no reason to keep it beyond "of course i'm keeping it, it's amazing when you think about it," poppy keeps the baby cuz its a sitcom and they refuse to consider any other option.

ian. ian who was poppy's childhood idol, ian who was her first and only boss, ian who made everything about him in their 15 year partnership. Poppy decides she is done with him, but comes right back. season 3 was right in the end i guess, "it is what it is" they kiss. Poppy kisses the man who controlled her life for 15 years, the man she almost escaped, and the credits roll. I don't know what's next for Poppy, but I do know this.

they cant have them be romantic, it sends the message that they are a good couple. The relationship is incredibly unhealthy and built upon ian seeing her as a surrogate mom.

they cant have them be abusive cuz its a sitcom and Rob McElhenney isnt gonna write his own character as abusing a pregnant woman.

idk what they do, but ill i can think is, what happens when the baby comes. ian wont change, the ending was them deciding not to. he will want poppy to be with him at all times all her focus on him, it'll be like when a 5 year old gets a baby sibling and they hate them cuz they used to have all the attention. but ians a grown man with more power over poppy than I could ever describe.

and then i win my second, and my third and now he's laughing and smiling and talking back. sometimes i still can't find him but other times he's right next to me on the front row and i just know if he got the chance he would make it every weekend. at some random, cold high exposure city in america he's on pole and im right behind him and i push him off in the first turn because i lost grip and i hate this track but it doesn't matter he fights back and he only loses because of a safety car. i get out of the car and apologise to him and it's so so warm and i love this track i love the feeling of him spraying champagne on my face giggling. then the final race he's fighting like he never has for his team to gain one more position in the constructors and he's so mad it doesn't work but he's still second on the podium and i look down at him and i vow i want to fight him forever.

Benedict laughed as you scowled at him, though it was not a real scowl.  In a teasing manner, Benedict quickly went to wash his hands in the sink before you would take the hand towel in retaliation.  The sweet smell of the freshly made cookies was still lingering above both of your heads, as well as the tangy scent of the lemons still perched by the sink.  The rest of the kitchen must have looked a mess with flour everywhere and some of the other ingredients askew, but it was not a negative thing.

In fact, you loved it.  Sundays were meant for baking.

You loved to bake, it was something that brought you peace ever since you were a little girl and you baked cookies with your mother.  She had the magic touch in baking and would bake everything and anything.  Cupcakes, muffins, bunt cakes, all and more, she knew precisely how to make it memorable.  Thankfully, you had the same gift and made it your own as you got older and branched out on your own.  You were still working a 9 to 5 job, gathering every single cent you would earn, yet you would save baking for your own time.

Baking was also a good second job for you, almost like a side hustle.  You’ve baked for birthdays, gender reveals anniversary parties, retirement affairs, and even for one funeral.  It was decent money, and once word got out about your baking skills, people were reaching out for you to bake for them.  So money was no longer an issue.

Your main issue was your fiancé, Benedict Bridgerton.

Being the man that he was, he made your life far more interesting and entertaining.  There was never a dull day with him, which rocked your world and life greatly.  After a few times of dating, you both moved in together and you got the whole scope of who he was.  Although he was an acclaimed artist, he was also a bit messy.  You oddly trip over his shoes every once in a while that was thrown on the floor, his paints and easel seemed to look out of place in your shared bedroom with a bit of mess growing by the minute. Even in the way that he would be so aloof in how he would walk in the apartment as if he was walking amongst the clouds.

You walked in on him stripped down to his boxers at one moment in your kitchen, standing in front of the freezer to get some relief since your AC was not working its best.  You huffed, tossing your work bag on the countertop, and glared at him with your hands on your hips.  It was even harder since you wanted to jump his bones then and there from how he was only in his boxer shorts and leaving nothing to the imagination.

He asked you to show him how to bake, which turned out to be more chaotic than you thought.  It wasn’t that he was clumsy or couldn’t work around the kitchen, he could to a point.  But Benedict was still aloof, like his personality, even with flour on his nose and some of the cookies burned from the bottom.  Yet it was still fun to bake with him, he knew how to make the evenings light or the early mornings genuine.  Baking alone was always fun, but now having another person to bake with was even better.

Even one evening in December, he made some freshly baked muffins on a plate to give you as you were curled up in your favorite chair with a book in hand.  But when he placed the plate in front of you, you saw a small velvet box in the middle of the muffins, making you cry as he knelt on one knee.  

Now, in the swelting heat of summer and your wedding coming around the corner in the late fall, you were experimenting with cookie and cupcake recipes that you would use in your reception at the dessert table.  You were a bit stressed about it, looking through plenty of baking books and recipes online to find the right dessert for your big day.  Your fiancé knew you were under a bit of pressure in that department, the rest of the tasks when it came to the wedding seemed not as stressful.  He hoped in plenty of the decisions and booking the vendors, the venue was his mother’s back garden.

He tucked his finger under your chin to lift your lips up to meet his.    Having this small moment, the kitchen semi-destroyed in baking tools and ingredients, in your cramped little kitchen of the apartment you both have been sharing together, it was perfect.  You both had plans for your future after the wedding, wanting to travel together as a newly married couple and see the world past the little town you grew up in.  You wished to take new culinary classes to sharpen your baking skills, and Benedict was going to look for a bigger apartment, even a townhouse, for you two to perhaps grow your family further down the road. 

But for now, for this small moment, you were happy.

Benedict pulled away and smiled widely at you, his bright blue eyes looking even brighter as he found your voice, “How about you and I have a movie night in, and I can order us an extra large, extras cheese pizza along with that bottle of wine Colin and Penelope gave you,”

“Oh, I’ve been. Looking forward to opening that for weeks!  Sounds lovely,” You replied in a hum pecking his lips one more time before he started helping you clean some of the pans and measuring cups.  You were looking forward to this kind of slow Sunday with him, every slow Sunday even, as long as Benedict was at your side. 

Your mother-in-law, Violet Bridgerton, loved her Blackberry Lavender cake you made especially for you, along with the card you gave her with the news of your pregnancy.

so it was DEFINITELY out of the country, no questions asked

Domestic Life !

i feel like connor was already a pretty domestic guy, so not much changed !

except for the fact you refers to you as mr/Mr stoll unironically now, and it happens a lot more frequently !

he gets little hooks put up in the bathrooms and near the kitchen sink to put your rings on so they don't fall down the drain.. (happened to my dad once and he still hasn't lived it down-)

starts talking about adopting pets or having kids a little bit more often, but it's usually just the pets

he seems like the kinda guy to want really exotic things like pigeons or some crazy kind of snake

you guys dance in the kitchen a lot when your cooking and it's kinda cutie pie !

makes you breakfast very often too

like, most times it's just pancakes or smth of that sort

but on anniversaries he goes to TOWN

oh you want strawberry stuffed french toast ? yeah he made that plus waffles.

an omelette ? it's on your plate with a side of the best hash browns you've ever had in your life.

he's a lover boy at heart, so marriage just make it a million times more intense.

on the topic of food, he makes you taste test a lot of the stuff he cooks

in the case you guys do argue, he handles it wayyy more mature than most would think he would

he hates when people are mad, and he hates being mad, so he likes to resolve things fairly quickly

but he gives you space if or when you need it

but arguments rarely happen between you two since he's a shockingly (not really) good communicater

Dec ✮ 12 ✮ 2024 – update

Part of me hates doing these mostly because it's a whole lotta nothing and me just repeating everything I said the last update (lol) but I do like doing it because I like keeping people updated, even if it's a non-update. I may sound like a broken record (pun not intended) but I know a lot of people don't catch my updates every time so it's nice to just keep people informed yk yk

✮ — Part 2 + rewrite

Fun fact: I had written an entire essay about my excitement for the rewrite and chapter 3 and beyond but it got too long!

It boiled down to me wondering why I'm so excited for this rewrite and realizing it's because I feel comfortable enough to approach it with complete creative freedom. I wrote the first iteration of the demo with the constant worries swimming in my head like "I hope people understand what I'm trying to say here" and "I hope this situation is being read the way I intended for it to be read." And I think I sort of had those thoughts tenfold while writing Part 2. If you paid attention, you can probably see where I was trying to shut down certain discussions in the narrative lmao

Recently I had a tiny epiphany and reminded myself that it's not always about what I intend to write, but what is being understood by each reader. And yes this is basic writing 101 but let me have this moment of clarity okay. Embracing that means I can proceed with Infamous without holding back and sticking to my guns in regards to what I want for this story aka I'm just going to write what I write and like....not worry about the rest you feel (while of course integrating the common critiques and suggestions and improving on the things Infamous falls short in—I am not Shakespeare lmao)

ANYWAY my point is that I'm excited to fix up the demo !!! and just go back to it with complete confidence in myself and write whatever the heck feels right to me (and write the rest of the story lolol) and return with a better story than I have now for everyone!!

planning what I'm going to improve and squeezing that in a reworked outline so it can flow much better narratively.

Outlining Chapter 3 and hopefully have the bare bones first draft drafted up which is mostly just be writing blocks of descriptions

I'm not sure I'll have anything substantial to justify looking for beta testers so soon yet but maybe!

work on my spice writing babey writing/reading spice makes me actually physically recoil but im determined to get better! which reminds me to finish the 6k follower gifts!

And also take a small breather because I am moving!

they are a bit of both! Fazbear Entertainment being Fazbear Entertainment (and especially with the new AR mask stuff from the ruin dlc) was experimenting with a brand new virtual companion kind of thing ever since the pizzaplex burned down! its similar to the AR app (that.. isnt very canon as far as im aware but doesnt seem too far of a stretch from what they would do) & scp-1471 - with the fun twist being that its not an app. it's almost like a reality-warping virus, ig??

so to answer your question: yes, they were made by fazco! but (and i tried to hint at this in the third video but im honestly not sure how well they came across) despite limiting the first batch of these "virtual companions" to the beta testers that signed up for the program, a couple of strays ended up on the front porch of other people's brains (including "you"/the pov you play as throughout the videos)

the current idea im working with is that the entities are linked to the original (decommissioned) animatronics, but duplicated - think the way that freddy comments on there being other freddies in other pizzaplex locations. im really liking the idea of subtle variations between entities: same original source, same memories, but slightly different reactions, personalities and effects on their host!! i imagine especially so for entities based on aggressive animatronics like monty. some of them are a tad confused on why theyre there.
